Dad, Daddy…. Rocket's wars could hear Shocket softly calling from her room knowing that she must be having trouble sleeping getting up leaving his room going down the hall to Shocket's room gently opening her door. He heard sniffles coming from under her blanket as he sat on the end of her bed seeing a teary eyed Shocket peeking out making him get it. "Shocket have you been having trouble sleeping. You can tell me." Rocket said as she climbed onto his lap telling him what was on her mind as he was listening.
"Ohhhhh honey, it's okay and I'm gonna be there for you. Linda too." Rocket told her rocking gently with her on his lap humming something soothing that Lylla used to hum to him, Teefs and Floor when they couldn't sleep seeing it was relaxing her, realising she couldn't sleep alone leaving her room, going to his room lying down in his bed which made Shocket feel safe, secure like when she and Linda would sleep together in the foryress which she was telling him.
"Yep, Linda told me about this. Everything will be okay." Rocket reassured her. This put Shocket's Young mind at ease hearing this because she was feeling okay with her dad by her side, that if Tivon tried to take her back, he'd fight him which made her smirk imagining this.
"Don't worry kiddo, I got your back." Rocket told her seeing her asleep.
That next morning, Shocket stirred rubbing sleep from her eyes, feeling a lil better after sleeping getting up heading to the kitchen seeing her dad putting pop tarts in the toaster making Shocket curious. She'd never had pop tarts drinking milk asking if there was anything he put in her food making Rocket confused by this question until she explained that Tivon put steriods in her food. "No honey there's not. I'd never do that to you." Rocket said to her. This made her feel better about eating as she'd been cautious about food, in case there were things in them like what Tivon would add in her food growing in the fortress.
But Shocket's ears perked up, hearing Byrdie being mentioned on the news, making her impressed, that Linda had helped save New Yorkers while she ate thinking about what it would be like doing heroics like Linda and her dad which Rocket noticed ruffling her mohawk reassuring her she'd be ready one day to get out there making Shocket smile at his thought but she heard his comm go off making her curious. "I have to go do Guardians stuff kiddo. Maybe you should go to Linda's until I get back. That way you'll be safe and I won't be worried." Rocket told her.
"Yeah, I think that's a good idea pops." Shocket told him. She was texting Linda about this hearing her say it was okay so she was leaving after hugging him making Rocket chuckle as he left but she smirked seeing Linda hug her as she was entering the Baxter building making Johnny Storm curious about her making Shocket anxious which Linda got.
"Johnny, this is Shocket who I've told you about." Linda said to him.
"So, that's the mysterious Shocket, that you've told us aboht." he said.
"Uh-huh. Go easy on her Johnny." Linda said to him.
