"Still?" AJ asks, a kind of sympathetic twist to her lips as she walks Sara Louisa around in the garden, holding her hands as she toddles around, babbling happily to herself.
"Yes, Maryse is still angry with me," Mike mumbles grumpily, staring at his phone. He'd texted her an hour ago to learn her flight details into LA and she hadn't bothered to respond yet. "I mean, really, I get it, it was a great clock, but I tried to fix it! Repeatedly! Even did so by hand! It wasn't my fault!"
AJ lets him rant himself out, then lets Sara go, watching her flop down on her backside in the grass, not even blinking at the impact. "She's already an expert bumper," she chuckles, leaning in to kiss Sara quietly before turning back to her husband. "Think maybe it has more to do with Heath than the clock? I mean, what you did was kind of dirty, husband. Teasing him with the intercontinental title when you knew it probably wouldn't go anywhere for him while you deal with Ambrose..."
Mike groans. "It was a legitimate offer, it's not my fault he chose Rhyno over it! Or should I say, Rhyno chose himself for Heath..." He flops back into the grass and stares up at the sky.
AJ hovers over him and runs her fingers through his hair. "She'll calm down. Just give her some space. Besides, you have Axel and Bo now, right?"
"Oh boy," he mumbles bitterly, leaning into her touch. "Just what I always wanted."
She laughs and kisses him. "You'll be fine."
He hopes she's right.
Maryse is still cool during Raw, turning away when he tries to kiss her, and subdued with her support during the six man tag match he competes in with Axel and Bo against Dean, Heath and Rhyno after a mess of a MizTV. She does celebrate with him and the rest of the Miztourage until they get backstage, quickly walking away from them and joining Heath as soon as he walks through the curtains, cupping his face and soothing him over his loss. "Are you ok?" she asks him, lightly kissing him.
"I guess," he mumbles. He never looks right sad, Mike thinks, and he can almost understand why Marsye is so angry with him, if it is about this and not the clock. But he's not sure what to do about it, a clock is so much easier to repair than this.
Maybe if I invite him to the bachelor party I'll be throwing for John as soon as we get our schedules straightened out, he thinks, eyes lighting up at the prospect. "That'd be perfect!"
Everyone in the vicinity looks at him oddly and he waves them off, continuing on his merry way. Yeah, that'll fix everything. He eyes a calendar as he walks by it. Just need to get the dates for when everyone's free...
