Chapter 20: You Can't Run
You Can't Run, Scrap Brain Zone, Sark Dimension
Sonic and Amelia had escaped from Sark and arrived in a new area. The sky was full of blood red clouds, creating a scary atmosphere.
"Uh, I think we just went from the frying pan into the fire." Amelia gulped.
"What makes you say that?" Sonic asked.
"This is where Sark has his clones stored."
"How does that work?"
"No clue. They trap you by surrounding you, then kill you." Amelia explained.
"How easy are they to beat?" Sonic asked.
"Very. They're just dangerous to be around." She replied.
"Got it. Let's continue." Sonic said as the two proceeded down the ominous stretch.
As they continued down the straightaway, Sark Clones began to appear.
"Uh, Sonic, they know we're here."
"Relax, they can sense your fear, and it makes them stronger." Sonic told her.
"Where are you off to?" They said, each saying a word in the sentence.
"We're heading out to save my friends." Sonic told him.
The clones all laughed.
"This is as far as you go." They retaliated.
"So who's going to stop us?" Sonic asked.
"Us, of course."
"It's a shame that the real Sark couldn't be here."
"Sonic, what the hell are you doing?" Amelia whispered.
"An idea that might get us out of here unscathed." The Blue Blur whispered. "So which one of you five clones is the strongest one?"
"Me!" The clones said at the same time.
"What?" Exclaimed the first.
"You're crazy as hell!" Yelled the second.
"I'm the best." Said the third.
"No, me!" Cried the fourth.
"It's obviously me." Boasted the fifth.
"No, me!"
The clones began to argue.
Sonic tapped Amelia's shoulder, signaling for them to walk past the clones, then run. They ran past them with no problem. The clones continued to argue, not even noticing the heroes were gone.
