Flip was trying so hard to explain to the cops that Lori was a hero that saved his bags of money, though he clearly doesn't know about Lori's new superhero identity, and when the officers were fully convinced, they praised Lori for her bravery. "This mysterious girl, whoever she is, is a true hero!" Flip said. "She deserves praise and a medal for saving my business."
The two cops looked at one another, and then at the new hero. "Well, you managed to catch a master criminal and his accomplices who have been on the run from us for at least four months now." said the first officer."
"That's right." said the second officer. "His name is Douglass McCoy, and his cronies are his childhood friends from middle school. When they were kids and teens they had a long record of truancy and stealing from stores and malls. All they seem to care about is stealing as much money as they can and making themselves as rich as possible.
"Though it was because Douglass here had a rather... messed up childhood." the first officer pointed at the bandits and their leader being thrown into the police truck to be hauled to jail. "Douglass' parents were... what's a nice word to put it? Nasty pieces of work. His parents were very bad drunks and always had the time to beat him whenever they wanted to get their anger out.
"Really?" said Lori, seeing the police truck haul them to prison with the siren blaring as it was driving off.
"Douglass didn't play with other kids growing up, and his parents made him do everything around the house like their own slave."
"Well... now i literally feel kind of bad." Lori pointed
"Maybe, but don't be, because he has done some bad things way worse than this." said the second cop.
"Like getting in shootouts, animal cruelty, hostage takings, and he even killed four officers in a few shootouts before." the first cop pointed out. "Wanted in at least nineteen states. One of the most notorious criminals in modern times."
"Oh." Lori looked even more surprised to hear about this guy and his shocking criminal record. "He is going to prison, right?"
"Absolutely." The first officer clarified. "He committed many bad deeds and broke the law so many times. His actions cannot and will not go unpunished."
"Well, glad to know." said Lori.
"So we didn't get the name, Miss. what do they call you?"
Thinking about her new superhero name, she replied: "Volcano Girl. I am named Volcano Girl. If anyone needs my help, they can call on me. She put her hands on her hips in a heroic pose under the sun.
"Ah. Are you some kind of superhero?" Said the first officer.
"Yes. I... moved in to town." She lied so her secret identity wouldn't be exposed.
"Welcome to Royal Woods!" Both officers said.
"Well, Miss. too bad Lori isn't here." said Flip, "She said you both want a free Flippee."
"Yep. We do."
"But where is Lori?" Flip couldn't help but wonder
Looking nervous, Lori said: "oh, she's someplace safe. It was going to get ugly."
"You ain't wrong, toots." Said Flip. "I saw the sudden fireballs from a short distance, and burn marks on the ground, and the gunshots firing."
"The point is, she didn't want to get hurt and went to a safer place as I took care of those creeps. But she'll be coming back. I'll just give it to her as soon as she gets back."
"Cool beans." Said Flip. "Thanks for helping my business again."
"Don't mention it, Flip."
"So how do you know my name?" Flip curiously asked the disguised teenager
Looking nervous again, Lori looked to and fro and lied to him by saying: "you are quite famous here. Your gas station is named after you."
"Heh. No argument." The cheapskate smirked. "I live up to my name here in town."
"Volcano Girl, thanks again." Said the first officer. "This town can really use someone like you to put a stop to crime and villainy."
Lori smiled and said: "I will officers."
So she got herself the two free Flipees and Flip had to begrudgingly watch as she walked out of the front door with the two iced drinks.
At home, Lori went up to Bobby and presented the second Flipee to him. "Here you go, Boo-Boo Bear."
"Thanks babe!"
"You've been gone longer than we thought." Lynn Sr admitted. "Everything ok, hun?"
"Flips' place got robbed but I stopped the burglars."
"Robbed?" Said Luna, sounding shocked.
"Yeah the place was ransacked and they robbed Flii blind. But I literally put the heat on them and sent them to jail. And the police said that the leader was a criminal named: Dennis McCoy. Wanted in nineteen states.
"no way!" Said Lincoln. "Did they hurt you?"
"nope. I managed to melt their guns before the bullets can hurt me."
"You were really brave, babe." Said Bobby. "You really are a hero."
Lori blushed. "Oh Bobby." She smirked. "You are literally the best boyfriend ever." Then she hugged him tightly.
"Don't mention it, baby." Bobby patted her on the back.
"So you managed to stop crime for the very first time." Lisa began writing notes. "Very impressive feat, eldest sibling."
"Thanks Lisa."
"Does Flip know who you are?" Asked Lynn Jr curiously
"Nope. I want to
keep my new identity a secret from everyone else. And good thing Flip is not that smart."
"Yeah, he has the brain of the cheese stick." Lana pointed.
"He did let me get two free Flipees from his gas station," Lori pointed. "And I think he was mad when I got them."
"Typical Flip." said Lucy. "He would probably sell his parents for just one dollar."
"So what are you going to do next?" Asked Luan
"Well... I can always keep an eye out for trouble in case something happens and wait for something to happen.
