Lori could hardly believe what she was looking at. Snow Flaker, the crazy ice-themed supervillain had just got out of prison? This man was obviously too dangerous to be around normal people for his destructive and insane tendencies to freeze people into ice sculptures for his own sadistic desires. How can a villain like him had got out of jail like this? It makes no kind of sense at all for him to get a free "get out of prison" card like this? There was only one way to find out. She managed to get inside an empty Photo Booth to change into her superhero outfit to properly fade her nemesis
"Ah, there you are, Volcano Girl." said Snow Flaker. "Just the girl i was looking for.
He was standing on a slide of ice he created with his two hands. Lori hovered up to the villain's level and was in front of him with her arms crossed like an angry, stern parent with her arms crossed. "Snow Flaker, how did you literally get out of prison? I seriously doubt that prison would let out a very evil criminal like yourself." Snow Flaker gave a haughty laugh at her in response.
"I know, i know, you are very shocked and surprised to see me out of the big house. But if you must know, it was all sheer luck on my side. And, good things can happen to villains after all."
"That's not right." Lori looked very confused. "The government would never let you out like this."
"Yes, i am perfectly aware of that, beautiful. But how i got out is none of your business anyway. What matters is that I am a free guy and i can freeze more people for my ice sculpture collection. And admittedly, if you weren't hot enough to melt, you would be the ultimate prize for my collection. Like... the ultimate trophy that only other villains can only dream of possessing. But alas; we can't always get what we want, Volcano Girl."
"Are we doing talking yet?" asked Lori. "Because i would literally like to put you back in prison and make sure you have no bail."
"Don't you worry, baby. This won't take too long." he went from suave to angry and bitter when he added: "Because now, it's payback time!" he readied his hands and raised his right one at Lori, and tried to blast her with an ice blast, but Lori managed to dodge to the right so she wouldn't have been frozen, and fired an ice wave at him in retaliation, melting Snow Flaker's ice slide and almost making him fall off.
Unfortunately, he created a small field of snow under him to cushion his fall, then he got mad and tried freezing Lori again with both hands this time, only for Lori to charge in on him like a meteor from outer space, and rammed into Snow Flaker from above.
The icy villain was knocked into a nearby cotton candy stand, and his hair got covered in the classic carnival treat. But he got back on his feet and wiped the cotton candy off of him before forming a large spiky ball with his left hand. Now he meant business, and he was not holding back now.
Lori did a jump like something out of the Matrix films and tried kicking Snow Flaker in the head, but the icy-villain was quick and ducked a couple of times and grabbed Lori's leg with his right hand before using his icy ball to hit her in the side like a baseball and a bat, making her crash into a merry-go-round.
The hero felt dizzy and passed out on the ground. "I think my brain is going to pop out." She said. The. She felt her head being pressed on by Snow Flaker with his right foot, keeping her from getting back up to fight some more.
"Sorry to do this, Volcano Girl. I don't really want to... finish the job, but you're giving me no choice. But hey, because I like your Style, and you in general, I'll make sure to make it as quick and painless as possible." He then formed a sharp ice spear with his two hands, and aimed it for Lori's head. "Nice knowing you, Volcano Girl!"
Lori closed his eyes, waiting for her impending doom to come for her already.
Before the sharp ice spear could pierce her head, it bounced off and Snow Flaker was knocked out with a horseshoe from one of the carny games, and almost fainted from the impact. "Who threw that?" Snow Flaker demanded
"Leave her alone!" A familiar voice called out. Lori looked as she got back up, it was Bobby, with a couple more horseshoes on him. "You mess with the hero of Royal Woods, you mess with me- I mean, with all of us!"
Getting mad, Snow Flaker shouted: "you will pay for that, you nuisance!"
"Uh-oh." Bobby realized that he shouldn't have intervened like that. And he hid behind a trash can so he wouldn't turn into an icicle.
"Pathetic. And I thought you would be a bold one." Said Snow Flaker. "Nonetheless, you'll make another good addition to my collection."
Lori got mad and swept the villain's legs while he was distracted in trying to freeze Bobby, making him land on his back, and got on him to punch Snow Flaker so many times.
The icy villain had enough and grabbed her right arm with his own two hands and head-butted her in the forehead, making her yelp.
Trying to pierce her with his spear again, Lori gave him a kick in the tummy with her two feet, and delivered an uppercut with her left knee. She tried using a fist of flame against Snow Flaker now but then Snow Flaker formed an icy fist on his right hand and gave her an uppercut himself.
"Looks like I have the upper hand this time." Snow Flaker sneered. Then he was zapped by a laser, and Lori turned her head to see that Lincoln, in his new Laserboy outfit, had arrived as the Calvary for Lori.
"You leave her alone!" Lincoln shouted. "Mess with Lo- I mean, Volcano Girl, then you mess with me!"
"Laserboy?" Snow Flaker recognized him. "Well that's all I needed."
"Give it up, Flaker!" Lori pointed. "You're outnumbered, and you can't win."
"Don't you remember what I told you before, Volcano Girl? Numbers are not everything!"
Both heroes charged at Flaker, and the villain realized that he can't win for now, and will live to fight them another day. There was always another day for him to exact his revenge on the heroes, and created another ice slide as a getaway tool for him to use.
Looking mad, Lori flew after him and tried to chase him down. "Get back here, Snow Flaker!" Lori shouted as she was gaining up on him. She created another wave of fire to melt the ice slide, but Flaker landed on her and pinned her to the ground.
"maybe you're not as strong as you believe you are, Volcano Girl. So why don't you give up?"
"Never!" Lori shouted as she flipped him over with her feet. Suddenly, two large black vans came and stopped. One on Snow Flaker's left side and second van on the right side. What was this? Reinforcements?
A small group of armed thugs came in and were wearing some kind of red armor and black goggles over their eyes, and carried crimson-painted AK-47 assault rifles and they were aiming at Lori
Were they government? No. They can't be from the government.
"Just in time, boys." said Snow Flaker. "Come on. We'll let you gun her down."
Lori gulped, knowing that she was screwed, big time. At least they were not with the government, because Lori knows that the government would never send soldiers or the US army to gun her down with an endless barrage of bullets. No, these soldiers that had come to Flaker's aid had to be some kind of private security force from a private company. They didn't have the symbols that signaled whether they are private, sergeant, commander, general, or any of those rank marks that US army troops on them.
And it is highly unlikely that US Soldiers even need AK-47s as their own primary machine gun for them to use. No, who int he American army would use that very weapon that came from the Soviet Union before it collapsed?
The hero girl was in deep trouble since there are about ten of these armed goons, and they were certainly not friendly. These men didn't look like they will hesitate to shoot and kill a teenage girl on the spot, probably in it for the money.
Alas, Lori couldn't let her guard down and she had to fight or die trying.
"There's still time to surrender, Lori. This is your last chance. Give up, or die."
The hero girl was silent for a brief moment, but she ultimately said: "Never!"
"Then, i guess you leave me no choice." Snow Flaker had a sad look on his face and then changed to a stern one. "Take her down!"
It looked like it was the end for Lori, and she closed her eyes, prolonging the inevitable for her. Suddenly, before the men could pull the trigger on her all at once, some weird round object popped up out of nowhere, in front of Snow Flaker and the guards, and Lori. "Volcano Girl, cover your eyes!" said a male voice. Doing whatever the voice told him to, Lori covered her own eyes with her two hands and a blinding light flashed in front of Snow Flaker and his team of mercenaries, blinding them all on the spot. Sounds of heavy gunfire was heard and it came from the left of Lori.
A squad of SWAT team officers cameon the scene and shot as much of these goons as they can. But Snow Flaker use his ice powers to freeze at least four of them on the spot and created an ice slide to get as far away from those government soldiers as possible. A small shootout ensued between the SWAT team and those red-armored mercenaries for about sixty seconds, until finally, the red-cladded men fell dead from being gunned down like that.
Lori looked so relieved that backup had arrived to her side. Sure, she had powers of pyrokenesis, but not even she can take on a squad of those scumbags like that on her own. The good soldiers came up to Lori and the leader said: "Are you alright, Volcano Girl?"
"Yeah, thanks to you." she smiled. "But how did you know what was going on?"
"The mayor got so many emergency calls from countless people in Dairyland that she knew she had to send us to help you out."
"Well, tell her I said thanks the next time you see her." Lori remarked.
"Will do."
Many paramedics and officers came by to help unthaw the them park goers who had been frozen by the icy villain with blankets and some hot chocolate as comfort food. The SWAT officers also helped out in fixing the amusement park and the damages. Bobby rushed up to her and Lincoln after the whole chaos was over. "ba- i mean, Volcano Girl! Laser Boy! Are you ok?"
"Just fine, B- I mean citizen." said Lincoln
"We're just glad you and everyone else is alright." Lori added. "But Snow Flaker got away."
"Don't worry, there's always another day you can take him down." Bobby reassured her. "What matters is that you're safe and sound." then he gave Lori a kiss on her right cheek, making her fluster heavily.
