"This week's going to be busy," Mike says into AJ's hair early Sunday morning.

She hums, yawns. "Well, yeah," she muses. "it's the Road to Wrestlemania." She sweeps her arms around in an overly exaggerated fashion that makes him laugh. "It's always busy." Sitting up, she plants her hands on his shoulders and searches his face. "What makes this noteworthy though?"

"I've been invited to be on NXT to host MizTV," he informs her and she blinks.

"Oh. Yeah, that's new. Who invited you?"

He wrinkles his nose at her and shrugs. "Three guesses."

"Oh, come on, Mike," she whines, wiggling a little bit and distracting him. Lacing her hands around his neck, she sighs. "I'm awful at guessing things, you know this." Biting her lip, she shrugs. "Alright, um. Well, most of the guys there just say whatever they want, without needing to bring a talk show setting into the situation." She narrows her eyes at him, still trying to think. "Maybe it was Brooks Jensen? Since we all know what a master you are at working through relationship issues on MizTV."

He huffs, then sticks his tongue out at her as she beams innocently. "No, it's not him."

"Toxic Attraction, but Mandy can't stand you, so-"

"No, absolutely not them, thank god," Mike grumbles, squeezing her hips tighter and enjoying the breathless little noise she makes in response.

Then AJ's eyes narrow and she examines Mike closer. "No way," she says. He smirks brittly at her and she groans, dropping her head on his shoulder. "Is it the new NXT champion... Ziggler?"

"There ya go," he says, kissing her forehead. "See, you're not that bad of a guesser."

"Poor baby!" she says, fingers twisting around with the short, bristly hair on the nape of his neck. "How did he ever convince you to do that one?"

He shrugs. "A chance to be involved in this controversy? Hard to pass it up, really." He strokes slow circles in her skin and exhales. "It doesn't change my schedule much, I just have to shift around a couple afternoon media things, but just letting you know."

She nods. "Thank you. Just... try not to kill him, alright?"

He smirks. "No promises." Things between he and Ziggler, he's sure, will always be shaky, just because of how Dolph had treated AJ, and the entire triangle between them all of those years ago. But ultimately, Mike had ended up with her in his bed in the mornings, and two beautiful kids down the hall, so there's no point in being a sore winner. "We'll be ok," he promises her, cradling her and kissing her intently until the worried furrow in her brow eases and she clings to him, sighing softly.

"I trust you," she tells him softly, later, once they can both think enough to speak. "I know you'll handle this as professionally as you do everything else."

He laughs a little bit at that. "Well, usually," he muses. "I do know one thing though."

"What's that?" she asks sleepily, tucking her face into his neck.

He smiles lovingly down at her, stroking his hand languidly up and down her back. "I am absolutely bringing my sunglasses, because there's no way I'm going blind staring at all of those obnoxious colors for hours."

She makes a soft, humored noise into his skin before her body relaxes deeper into his and he hums, running his fingers through her hair a couple of times. "G'night, AJ. I love you," he whispers into her hair and smiles, settling down into the pillows to hold her and listen to her steady breathing until sleep claims him as well.
