I own nothing.
As her blood touched the flames. It sizzled. Aegon came over to her. It was at that moment suddenly all the candles in the room burst to life. There were words in Valyrian craved into the walls with images of dragons all around the rooms. Now they could see each plague above each of the fourteen eternal flames. Joanna placed the dragon eggs she was carrying in front of the altar. Aegon followed suit. Aegon and Joanna walked over to where the flickering flame went to read the name.
"Shrykos," They said together.
Instantly the flame went from red-orange to blood nearly white. Aegon and Joanna's eyes went wide as they looked at each other. Joanna moved on to the next one.
"Gaelithox," Joanna said, and the flame turned blue.
"Meleys," Aegon said, and the flame turned blue.
"Vermax," Joanna said, and the flame turned blue.
"Tyraxes," Aegon said, and the flame turned blue.
"Vermithor," Joanna said, and the flame turned blue.
"Tessarion," Aegon said, and the flame turned blue.
"Aegarax," Joanna said, and the flame turned blue.
"Vhagar," Aegon said, and the flame turned blue.
"Caraxes," Joanna said, and the flame turned blue.
"Syrax," Aegon said, and the flame turned blue.
"Balerion," Joanna said, and the flame turned blue.
"Meraxes," Aegon said, and the flame turned blue.
"Arrax," Joanna and Aegon said at the same time.
There was a moment before the flame turned blue. The Flame shot up to the ceiling. The blue flame then split going in a circle and touching each of the now blue eternal flames. Before the blue flame dropped down behind the altar. It formed a man-like figure with dragon horns, made of blue flames with white flames in place where their heart should be and in the center of their forehead. Aegon stepped in front of Joanna and drew Blackfyre. Joanna let out a gasp as she looked around them. There were now seven woman-like figures made of blue flames with dragon horns and six more men like the one behind the altar. She huddled closer to him in fear.
"Worry not Aegon the conquer come again. We mean no harm to you or Visenya and Rhaenys combined in one come again. The Prince that was promised is you. Decisions made years ago erased dragons from the world because of a usurper. Once again, a usurper takes the Iron Throne. But this time it will usher in the new age of dragons. Aegarax" Arrax spoke filling the chamber with his voice.
Aegon looked back at Joanna. She had a wide wide-eyed look on her face. He was not sure what to make of this. But she was trembling with fear. Aegarax came from Aegon's left side. He made his way to the altar. He placed his hands on the three stone dragon eggs. The sound of cracking fills the room. It was followed by the chirps and clicks of newborn dragons were heard. Aegarax backed away. When he did it revealed three newborn dragons. One looked like the stories of Balerion the black dread come again. His eyes were blood red along with scales on his underbelly. The second was cream-colored with a golden crown of horns and yellow-gold eyes. The third was emerald green with bronze bread of horns. His eyes were a mixture of bronze and gold. His underbelly scales were more bronze-green in color. Joanna's eyes looked over Aegon's shoulder.
"Those are real dragons," Joanna muttered in shock.
She goes to pass out with all that has gone on. Balerion grabbed her shoulder stopping her from falling back. He lit her dress on fire. She could feel the heat on her shoulders, but it did not burn her.
"I know, child. Your father and grandsire now rest in my halls. They are at peace. It is a lot," Balerion told Joanna his voice was dark and gravelly.
"Balerion they may be fireproof, but their garments are not," Syrax laughed blowing out the flames that spread down the sleeves of her gown.
"Syrax, stop your child-like banter. Caraxes control your wife," Balerion growled.
"No one controls my wife besides Balerion she is telling you the truth," Caraxes replied.
Balerion and Caraxes went to get into an argument, maybe even a fight. They were separated by Vhagar. She glared at both of them. They both bowed their heads.
"Enough both of you," Vhagar growled as she separated them.
"Thank you Vhagar," Arrax addressed.
"Aegon was gifted by Tessarion like Daenys was," Arrax started. He pointed out Tessarion. Aegon and Joanna's eyes followed Arrax's direction. They came to stand together. "She showed him what was to come. That is why he conquered the Seven Kingdoms with his sisters-wives. That has been lost to time. We have brought you back to being able to fight this coming evil and darkness. Tessarion if you will," Arrax said.
Tessarion came up to them. She looked at them lovingly. She reached out touching both of their foreheads.
"My children," Tessarion said lovingly as she touched their foreheads.
Images filled their minds of horror that was coming. They were transported beyond the wall to see the army of the dead. White Walkers at the helm of the army. The Night King locked eyes with Aegon. They saw the Wall crumbling to the point it fell. When they came out of the visions. Aegon dropped Blackfyre. They both had tears pouring down their faces. Joanna was shaking. She threw herself into Aegon's chest seeking his protection from what she saw. He hugged her tighter to it. He was trembling also. He kissed the top of her head.
"It will be alright," Aegon reassured.
"It will be more than alright. For if the dance of dragon never happened there would be more dragons in this world than these three," Arrax revealed. He pointed out the three newborn dragons. His eyes met each of the fourteen flames eyes. Telling them what he wanted them to do without words. "Aegarax" Arrax addressed.
Aegarax walked over to his eternal flame. He took the black and purple egg from the flames. As he walked closer to the altar. The sound of the cracking of an egg was heard. At that sound, Joanna and Aegon's eyes followed the source of the sound. It was followed by a whistle-like chirps were heard. As he placed the egg on the altar. A small black dragon with spiral horns on the crown of her head. The horns were the color of nightshade flowers. She had a longer neck with fin-like membranes on her back legs. She had a lanky skinny body. Her eyes were nearly the same amethyst color as Aegon's eyes.
"She will be a force to be reckoned with like her rider," Aegarax revealed.
"Vermithor," Arrax called.
Vermithor came from Joanna's right. He came with a bronze and copper egg. The sound of hatching was heard as he placed it on the altar. The little dragon that emerged was bronze in color with had stag stag-like head with multiple teeth pointing out from his close jaws. He had copper horns that looked almost like antlers on top of his head. His eyes were copper in color.
"He will reveal what was once lost," Vermithor said looking at Joanna.
"Shrykos" Arrax called.
Shrykos came forward with a silver and storm-grey egg. It sparkled in firelight. It hatched as it was placed on the altar. It was a silver dragon with storm-grey horns and aqua-colored eyes. He had a crown of horns and wings of horns on the side of his jaws.
"He will reveal the truth of your line," Shrykos told them as she locked eyes with Joanna.
"Tyraxes" Arrax called.
Tyraxes came up with an indigo and silver egg. She placed it on the altar. It cracked as she walked away. Revealing a small indigo dragon with a mane of silver horns. Her eyes were an eerie gold color. Her skull was more lion-like.
"She like her rider will take the world by storm," Tyraxes revealed.
"Caraxes" Arrax called.
Caraxes left Syrax side. He brought up the blood-red egg and black egg. The egg hatched as he walked. It revealed a lanky skinny blood red body more snake-like dragon. He had bread made of black horns along his wolf-like skull. He had a long neck and fin-like membrane on the back of his hind legs. He had a long tail with a trident-like split at the end. His eyes were cerulean blue in color.
"He will serve your son well and be as fierce as he was in the past," Caraxes revealed.
"Meraxes" Arrax called.
Meraxes came forward with a silver and sky-blue egg. The egg hatched in her hands like her twin, Caraxes, egg did. It revealed a silver glittering dragon with a pale sky-blue membrane of its wings. Her horns were tipped in sky blue. What was shocking about this dragon was her eyes were mismatched. One eye was bright blue while the other was lilac in color. She cuddled up to the one that Vermithor placed on the altar.
"She will show the world that unique beauty does not mean weak much like her rider," Meraxes said as she walked away.
"Balerion"
Balerion came up with a storm-grey and red dragon egg. The egg hatched in his hands. It revealed a storm-grey version of Meraxes the dragon. His eyes were eerie blood red color. His horns had a gradient to the tips from yellow to orange to blood red.
"His rider will be your father come again, a gift for you," Balerion addressed his eyes locked with Aegon.
Aegon looked at Balerion in shock. Balerion placed his hand on Aegon's shoulder as he walked back to the group. It burned a hole in his doublet. But was quickly put out. Aegon could also feel the unnatural heat of fire, but he was not burnt.
"Vhagar" Arrax called.
Vhagar came up with the snow-white and cloud-grey egg. It hatched in her hands revealing a snow-white dragon with cloud grey horns. It was a mountain dragon. It looked like Vhagar the dragon came again only with Meraxes coloring. Her eyes were silver-blue in color.
"Her rider will bring Harrenhal back into the Targaryen fold," Vhagar told them.
"Syrax" Arrax called.
Syrax playfully came up from Caraxes' side. She brought up a golden egg it hatched as she placed by eggshell that Caraxes brought up. It revealed a golden dragon with a horse-like skull. Her horns were all pointing toward her back. They were tipped in brown. Her wing points were also tipped brown. She had eerie yellow-green eyes. The golden baby dragon huddled near the dragon Caraxes brought up.
"Her rider will be a just ruler" Syrax explained.
"Vermax," Arrax called.
Vermax brought up an amethyst and gold egg. The sound of the egg hatching sounded throughout the chamber. It revealed an amethyst dragon with golden curling ram-like horns. They matched his eyes.
"He will bring the second ties of two branches of House Targaryen" Vermax revealed.
"Tessarion"
Tessarion brought up the sky blue and slate grey egg. It hatched adding to the coiling mass of dragon flesh. She was a sky-blue dragon with slate-grey scales on the tip of her snout. Her snout was formed like a beak-like falcon. She had brilliant sun-like yellow eyes.
"Her rider will tie two half-siblings back together fully," Tessarion revealed to Joanna.
"Gaelithox"
Gaelithox came forward with the emerald green and opal-like egg. It hatched as he placed it on the altar. It revealed an emerald-green dragon. He had a multitude of large horns each in a lighter shade of green up his snout with a horse-like skull. His wing membranes were iridescent like opals were. His eyes were copper in color.
"He will bring the first ties to another branch of House Targaryen," Gaelithox revealed.
"Meleys"
Meleys brought up the red and golden dragon egg to the altar. It hatched revealing a beautiful dark red and various shades of red dragon. Her eyes were a brilliant golden color. She had more fins than horns around her face.
"Her rider will bring your sister in another form," Meleys addressed as she looked at Aegon.
Arrax finally walked down to his enteral flame. He brought up the sapphire and pearl white egg. The egg hatched revealing a sapphire blue dragon with pearl white horns. He had two curled horns along his jaw and one large horn pointed toward his back on each side of his head. His eyes were brilliant cobalt blue.
"His rider will be honorable and loyal like no other," Arrax told them. He paused for a moment. Joanna and Aegon moved forward to get a closer look at the seventeen dragons that were hatched for them to take on the coming darkness. The cream-colored dragon with a crown of gold horns locked eyes with Joanna. As the one that looked like Balerion the Black Dread locked eyes with Aegon. The fourteen flames crowded around them. Forming what looked like a wall of blue flames. "May they help you in the wars to come. Take back what is yours with Fire and Blood. Bring not only all of Westeros but the known world to stop this coming darkness," Arrax told them as his eyes locked on Joanna's eyes.
Arrax knew that Joanna was more ruthless than Aegon. Aegon could be ruthless, but he was more the voice of reason. Yes, Aegon was planning to kill Robert but when he fell for Joanna, he dropped that plan. But Joanna was raised by Tywin from the age of eight. He was truly ruthless. While he was never that ruthless with her. He had ingrained in her that sometimes the cost no matter how bad was worth it if got the point across. Vhagar came forward standing next to Arrax.
"Perhaps you would like to be married in the way your ancestors were. We know you were married in light of seven," Vhagar asked. Aegon and Joanna looked at each other. They thought of being married again. They had huge smiles on their faces. "Know this, the way we marry you is not something that can be undone. There is no such thing as annulment in our marriages. It truly joining blood," Vhagar warned.
Aegon and Joanna both nodded. They both knew they did not want to be separated from the other. Vhagar saw that they accepted that fact. She snapped her fingers and their outfits changed to Valyrian marriage robes. Joanna even had a headpiece on her head her hair was braided with a black leather tie with a headed dragon one head was golden yellow, the center head was blood red, and the top head was orange holding it in place. They were completely dried. The rest of the fourteen flames stood witness. Arrax moved behind them with the rest of the fourteen flames. Vhagar took her place in front of the pair. The fourteen flames started to chant in Valyrian. Vhagar handed Aegon the dragon glass blade from the altar. He looked unsure. At that Vhagar touched both of their foreheads revealing what they had to do. He brought the dragon glass dagger to Joanna's lip and cut it. He took her blood, drawing the symbol of fire. He handed her the dagger. She did the same to his lips. Only she drew the symbol of blood. For it will be his bloodline that would flow through their children. Caraxes came forward with ribbon as Syrax came forward picking up the goblet and filling it with strong wine. Aegon cut his palm. He handed the dragger back to Joanna. She cut her palm as well. They joined their bleeding cut to each other wound. Caraxes tied the ribbon around their joined hands. Syrax brought the goblet of wine under their bleeding joined hands. The goblet caught their joined blood in it. Syrax handed Joanna the goblet as she joined Caraxes with the rest of the fourteen flames. Joanna took a large drink before she handed the goblet to Aegon. He finished the wine and blood. He let the goblet fall to the ground. He stepped closer to Joanna. He rested his forehead against her own. Their eyes locked with one another. Before, Aegon leaned forward kissing her passionately. Not at all caring who was watching or the cuts on their lips.
"Dracarys," Vhagar said.
All seventeen dragons started to blow fire on the ribbon. The ribbon caught fire quickly. It burned up to their joined hands. They could feel the heat from the flames but not any of the pain. But instantly their wounds were healed. It hurt to kiss, but they did not seem to care. But suddenly the pain was gone. As suddenly as the fourteen flames were there they vanished. Joanna and Aegon started to pull on their clothes removing them. The headdress fell off her head as the ribbon burned into ash. Aegon's hand went to the back of her head pulling her closer.
Stannis stood in the conquer chambers. His lady wife was with Shireen for her lessons. He had been kicked out of the chamber of the painted table. He raged all he wanted was to win this war. But seemed Joanna did not want to act. Now was when they had the upper hand, and the element of surprise was key to winning this. To wait in his mind was suicide. Melisandre came into the room.
"You are the lord of light chosen king. This wayward girl, as you so eloquently put it. She is just a stepping stone to the throne. She is reckless and recklessness leads to death," Melisandre told him.
"What about this Aegon? It's clear he is something more than just a Dayne," Stannis said.
"Who's to say he not a Dayne, you are lord of Light chosen one," Melisandre reassured.
"You, yourself told me there was more to him. Hells if he is Rhaegar's son, he could destroy everything," Stannis raged.
Melisandre placed his hand on his chest. Their eyes locked. Stannis could see the fire in her eyes.
"Let us focus on the problem we can control. Renly is a threat is he not? Let us deal with him then later if this Aegon is a threat we can deal with him and your niece," Melisandre told him.
"How" Stannis asked
"Shadow binning, I am well versed at it," Melisandre told him.
She slowly removed her gown. Stannis' eyes stared at her as she did so. She moved closer to him. Stannis looked unsure for a moment. Their eyes locked. There was fire in her eyes.
"What do you need from me," Stannis asked.
"Sleep with me, and I will give you a son, a son in your image. A son to avenge you, destroy your enemies. All the power I need is in you. In your bloodline," Melisandre told him.
Stannis gave in to her truly believing he was Lord of Light's chosen one. He knew by doing this he was betraying Joanna, but he did not care. But being the Lord of Light's chosen one was nothing compared to being the Fourteen Flames' chosen.
Renly stood in his chambers. His mind was on Joanna and what her fate would be. His eyes went to the sky in the window. A red comet streaked across the sky. He prayed to seven he was doing the right thing but, in his heart, he knew he was not. He felt a sense of guilt for marriage to Margaery and declaring himself king. The maids were packing his chamber to prepare for the war camp. Maester of Storms End had delivered a letter from Dragonstone. It was in his hands as his hand trembled with guilt. It was from Joanna. She was asking for his support. Explaining that she had a plan to get the Starks out of Kings Landing. That she loved him and trusted him. She looked forward to seeing him again. It was clear this was sent before the news of his marriage had reached her. He had the spark of fire in her eyes as a child. He knew Margaery and Loras had no clue what Joanna's temper was like. If they did, they would never be playing this game. He realized he was a pawn in their game. He would be damned if he was to be a pawn. He knew how to play the game of thrones. This was not the first Hightower that vied for the throne. Maegor the Cruel first wife was Hightower. Then was Otto Hightower with his daughter Allicent who wed King Viserys the first just moons after his first wife's death. They tried to place her son by the king on the throne instead of Rhaenyra Targaryen Viserys I named heir. The Dance of Dragons was the result. Now, Margaery and Loras were trying to get their blood on the throne through him. Their mother was Hightower; Lady Alerie Hightower to be precise. Renly quickly developed a plan. He threw Joanna's letter into the flame of the fireplace so no one could read it. He quickly penned a reply to Joanna. He would play the part they wanted him to play. But all the while he planned when the time came to bend the knee to Joanna. For he knew that Joanna would in time come to him demanding him bend the knee or die. Stannis would push her for no less. And he would do so and turn in Loras and Margaery Tyrell for the traitors they were. Yes, he cared maybe in loved Loras but if he was willing to play with his niece's life and his own life so carelessly. He knew Joanna was Tywin's favorite grandchild. He would rain the seven hells down on anyone who opposed her. Renly came to the door with the letter with his sigil closing the letter. Ser Bryce Caron stood outside the door. He had short black hair with green eyes. He was handsome enough to turn many heads. He was the orange part of his now Rainbow Kingsguards.
"Your Grace," Ser Bryce asked.
"Deliver this to Maester Jurne and see that he sends it Dragonstone to my niece Joanna," Renly ordered.
"It will be done your grace," Ser Bryce replied he left the do as Renly bid.
Renly walked back into the room. His eyes went back to the red comet that streaked through the sky. He prayed that Joanna would believe him and that he was on her side. He stood there for a long moment contemplating his next move.
Margaery came into the room dressed in a gold and black revealing gown. She had a charming smile on her face. She had a tiny rose crown on the top of her head. In her hands was a golden antler crown. She placed it on his head.
"Come my King the party is ready to depart," Margaery told him.
