Chapter 3- New beginnings
"Right, let's do this Kayleigh, new year, new you." I looked back at myself in the bathroom mirror, the changed me. I decided for a new look this year, I gave myself some lighter highlights in my hair, some makeup, an adaptation of the school uniform and a new attitude. I applied my new lip-gloss and walked out, looking around for anyone I recognized. I instantly locked eyes with my friend Pansy Parkinson, she took out a hairbrush and started talking to three girls. I walked over to her, slinging my bag over my shoulder. "Hey Pansy, nice seeing you again." I turned to the other girls, positioning myself against the lockers and held out my hand "Hey I'm Kayleigh Nott." The first girl fixed her hair and smiled "Hey, I'm Astoria and this is Cassie, Pansy's sister and Valerie." She pointed to a red haired girl first sand then a black haired, sullen faced girl. "Do you wanna sit with us at dinner, there's a space open." Cassie piped up, arms crossed. I nodded but it went unbothered as all their heads were turned in the direction of a gang of four boys "Mattheo come here!" My brother shouted and smiled once a path was cleared. I forgot that Theo became friends with Mattheo over the summer, damn. "Oh hey sis, didn't realise you were friends with the girls." Theo stalked over and lightly hugged me, I hadn't had a chance to see him since he left this year. I nodded and smiled back at the girls. The other boys came over and I examined them "Well Theo, aren't you gonna introduce me?" He looked around to the other boys and pointed at me"Guys,this is Kayleigh my sister. Kay, this is Draco. Lorenzo Berkshire or as he likes to be called now Enzo and this is Blaise Zabini." Enzo lightly hugged me, fluffy hair brushing over my shoulder, I smiled at Blaise but he was to busy wrapped up in Valerie whispering in her ear. "And this is as you already know is." He trailed off before a fifth boy came into the little circle "Mattheo, nice to see you again." Black tousled hair and deep brown eyes came into view. He turned to Theo and whispered in hushed tones before he turned back "Can I talk to you." He looked at me and I nodded, Once we were outside into the courtyard, we settled down on a stone seater next to one another "So how are you, you look different." He took in my new appearance, from my hair to my change of shoes from Mary Janes to heels. "I'm good thanks, you look like you're doing good. I was wondering if I could hang with you guys because I kinda lost all my old friends when I got suspended for.. you know.." He half-smiled and played with his hair, a cobweb hung down from it and my hand brushed up and took it away. My thumb ran over his cheek lightly while getting the remnants off. "So what do you have for your lessons, lets see if we have any classes together." I pulled out my timetable with the flick of my wand and he flicked through it and stopped on my next class "Hey, we've got potions together and oh crap, it starts in 5 minutes, should we head back?" I nodded and picked up my bag and still there were the others. Valerie waved me over but before I could move, Mattheo grabbed me by the arm "Look, about what happened 2 years ago, I forgive you. You were angry and if someone killed my mum I would lash out so all I'm saying is that I don't blame you." He touched my arm and lightly hugged me."Thank you." I whispered into his neck. Pansy came up to me and locked arms with me "So Mattheo, we were thinking of maybe inviting her into the group, she seems cool." Assie asked him but smiled at me "Do you know what Cas, I was thinking just that."
