Well first things first to Zuzu in regards to that question... Starving Venom doesn't steal the effect it copies it so Bloom Diva should be able to block Starving Venom, and I somehow doubt he'll have any Pendulum Cards by the time he meets you so... I wish you the best of luck when that happens. As for this chapter, well Dan... yeah I'm not going to hide it, you were absolutely destroyed by Yuto. He gave you some really good advice, and hopefully it'll help you when you need to help that mysterious female voice. Though yeah you'll have to get some improvement on your decks by then... I wish you the best of luck in that regard. Great chapter, looking forward to the update.

Man, Yuto absolutely crushed Dan here. Honestly, Yuto is one of my favorite anime characters, and I love the Phantom Knights archetype, so it's still nice to see Yuto in action, however short it turned out. A good chapter, overall.

Well now we're here after, I had watched some episodes of ARC-V, and now I'm gonna replace one of Dan's matches from one of the canon Duel Schools. Don't worry Garret, and his Duel School, Level Up Duel School are sticking around. But now we will get to that later cause now we have a match for Dan to apply for the Arc-League Championship here. And on the author's note from the original, I nearly lost my place here on this site due to me not remember my Google Password, but Ulrich manages to save my job here in time before my stories will be dead due to this website booting you out automatically for some reason.
And holy crap! This fic had surpassed 280,000 views when I was started the remastered version of this chapter but that surpassed to just about 350,000 views! Apparently, I'm not good on promises from updates but I swear this will be completed! And to help with that, I am DONE with wikia work on this to where only Dan, and his Decks will be shown, good riddance!
Summary: Deciding to apply to the Arc-League Championship to figure out answers to why he's in Paradise City, Dan asked Nico to help him get enough matches to apply for it. Time is tight, but Dan is determined to apply in time. For his first match he is against a Duelist who is from a Duel School that centers around evolving their monsters to stronger versions of themselves known as Level Up Duel School, which like the name says levels up their monsters to greater heights. Now Dan will have to do all he has to beat Garret, and his Armed Dragons!

A few minutes later...
After eating breakfast, taking a shower, and getting dressed Dan walked downstairs to where he notices a yellow, and black suited skinny man with a small mustache, and two bangs over his ears with a pink collar around his neck, and wearing glasses was there talking to Yuya, and Zuzu. Dan already knows who this man is, Nico Smiley, the Duel Manager of the Sledgehammer, and the guy who invited Yuya to duel the Sledgehammer in a large event that Yuya had debuted Pendulum Summoning, and won to honor Yusho's name. Now he is who will guide Dan to his matches.
Noticing him Nico looked over asking, "Ah, your Dan Kizami right?" He received a nod from said boy as Nico nodded back before explaining, "Yuya, and Zuzu have explained to me your situation. It is a rather short notice, and it is pushing things but I will see what I can do." That was before he grinned saying to him, "In fact I already have an opponent for you."
"You do?" This surprised Dan who did not suspect he can get his first match already.
"Yes come on I'll take you there."
Dan nodded with a smile as they exited the house. Dan wonders what kind of opponent he gets to face. Of course he doesn't exactly remember what kind of other duel schools he has to face. At least one of them won't include singing cause him singing? Yeah not gonna happen. It's not like he doesn't exactly like music, he is just not much of a singer.
While they were exiting the house, they didn't notice a black haired man wearing black goggles, and a red scarf was spying on them eyeing Dan the most.

A few minutes later...
Nico, Dan, Yuya, and Zuzu along with Gong, Sora, Allie, Tate, and Frederick all arrived at what looks like a small wooden shed with a sign beside the door that said, "Level Up Duel School" on it which made all but Nico blinked confused. Was this really a Duel School? It's barely enough for anywhere to 4 people to fit without it being crowded. Nico turned over explaining, "This is the Level Up Duel School."
"I thought it be a bit, bigger." Sora admitted.
"Don't be fooled by the appearance. Wait until you see inside."
From Nico's words they entered the school, and looked astonished from what their seeing. Compared to what they seen outside, this tiny shed is in fact much larger then what they saw. This was unlike anything everyone had even seen, and are clearly impressed on what their seeing. How did all of this fit in the tiny shed they seen inside? While looking around Nico guided them through as he explained, "Level Up Duel School is a unique Duel School cause it has one characteristic in their way in Dueling. They level up their monsters."
"What do you mean by level up?" Zuzu asked him confused hearing this.
Rather then answer Nico turned to them gesturing his arm over to a duel happening as they looked over seeing some students dueling each other where one has what looks like a silver, and crimson fiendish chest with five yellow eyes at the base, and at the top with some tentacles at from inside, and the other is a silver armored bug with four long skinny legs that are shaped as blades with razor sharp teeth, and sharp spikes at the back of it's head with four eyes in a line at the top, and sides of it's head which has small ditches to show where those eyes are, a stinger at the abdomen, and some small legs at it's body while a face-down card is on the insect's duelist's field.

Immediately recognizing the two monsters on the field Dan widen his eyes saying their names, "Dark Mimic, and Ultimate Insect..."
"You know these two monsters?"
Dan turned to Yuya who asked nodding, "Yeah. And now I get what Nico meant by 'Level Up'. This school uses monsters that can evolve themselves under special conditions."
"That is correct," they turned back to Nico who explained to them, "it is usually done during the Standby Phase. In this they all focus on one archetype known as LV, and the monsters are all different based on different forms of those monsters. Monster stealing cards like Allure Queen, cards that banishes monsters such as Dark Lucius, and cards that can't be effected to Spells like Silent Swordsman, or Silent Magician." Noticing something he said, "And look, your gonna see a monster leveling up."
Turning back to the duel the duelist who has Ultimate Insect called, "Alright my turn!" He drew looking before calling, "And as you recall from earlier, Ultimate Insect evolved to it's level 5 self during my Standby Phase. And again, I can evolve it two levels up!" Ultimate Insect glowed bright started to changed form before calling, "So come on out, Ultimate Insect LV7!"
The insect's shell cracked open showing see through moth wings before something broke out of the body as it flew up. With it's inhabitant gone the hollow shell collapsed leaving who broken out in the air. It is now a blue, and red insect with two stingers at the abdomen, and three long teeth down to the middle of it's abdomen with four insect wings, and what looks like it's shell shaped as a ladybug's that has silver spikes at the end with a red inside in it. It also has a blue head that has the same eyes as it's LV5 counterpart screeching loud.

Allie shuddered a little from this before the Ultimate Insect Duelist called on his face-down, "Next, I activate the trap, Meteorain!" A trap was flipped to his field which shows of a demon that holds a two handed axe looking like he's swinging it while red meteors are raining down unsuspecting to him.

"Well... that's definitely an impressive play. Cards like Ultimate Insect, and Meteorain were old cards but their still as strong as they are today." Sora admitted before someone walked toward them.
It was a young man that looked a bit older then Yuya having on a brown hoodie, and light brown jeans on with black sneakers, and brown riled hair walked over to them before asking, "Hey Nico?" Said man looked over before he asked, "You brought my opponent here?"
"Oh yes of course." Nico takes Dan shoulder before introducing, "Dan allow me to introduce you to Garret. He is the Rep of this Duel School, and is also their top student. Garret this is Dan Kizami, a new student of You Show who is looking to join the Arc-League Championship."
Dan looked at his opponent who grinned giving a peace sign, "Sup?" Dan bowed to him with a smile before Garret gestured over, "Come on kid, let's get ready for our match."
Dan only nodded as they walked to the field while everyone else walked to the window. Garret looked at Dan, "From what I heard of you, you dueled Declan Akaba himself. Is that right?" Dan nodded to him before Garret grinned, "So how strong is he?"
"Stronger then you would think..." Dan admitted with a shrug remembering back to his match with Declan, "But you'll have to see him yourself since I can't tell you what his skills are."
"Fair enough. Are you ready?" Dan nodded with a grin as the two readied themselves before Garret raised his arm, "Then I activate the Action Field, Dragon Tundra!"
"Augmented reality combat system energized. Generating Action Field." the Computer announced as the field around them formed into a field where it shows of mountains around them, and statues of dragons while their on a large tablet that has words they can't read as their battlefield.

Dan looked around before taking out his three Decks out deciding which one to use before smiling taking his Hieratic Deck, and placed it in his Duel Disk as he, and Garret prepared themselves.
"Now the Ancient Ground of the Dragons is all set to duel!" Nico started.
"And from the battleground their ready to lead a large match!" Zuzu added.
"To where we will see who triumph in this battle!" Yuya called
"And to see who is the best at Dragon fighting!" both opponents called together, "Ready...!"
"DUEL!"

"Alright, my term, my turn!" Garret grinned to his opponent looking at his hand.
Soon deciding on a strategy Garret takes a card calling, "For my first trick, I'll send Armed Dragon LV10 from my hand to the graveyard to summon Pile Armed Dragon!"
A large wind tornado burst in front of him as something materialized from the tornado. The tornado soon disbursed where the winds dissipate revealing what was in the tornado. It was a large muscular red dragon that has on silver armor along with a helmet that seems to be a part of it's head. Along with that are two long blades shaping as double bladed scythes as wings on them, and a long tail that has several drills on it. And speaking of drills most of the spikes on it's armor are drills, and it's right hand are several drills themselves roaring.

'Armed Dragon?' was the shocked thought of Dan's mind as he stared at the large dragon completely not expecting to see a Armed Dragon, and he never heard of this one.
From watching Yu-Gi-Oh! GX he had been a fan of the duelist who uses Armed Dragons; Chazz Princeton, a young man who has spectacular Dueling Abilities, and grown much as a Duelist against his rival Jaden Yuki. Armed Dragons are Chazz's signature cards otherside the Ojama Brothers, all of which he had gotten from the Chancellor of North Academy, Foster, and he knows a lot about them but not the time that they have new cards with them. Usually LV cards only have the base monster, and their evolved forms of those cards along with a few support but now this installment seems to have taken that a new step further as evident by the powerful dragon in front of him.
Garret merely viewed his shock as amazement for the large monster along with the rest of You Show. Zuzu seeing the large monster called, "Whoa, that is one large dragon..."
"And it has a lot of drills..." Yuya admitted to them.
"Gong believes that Little D better be wary of those drills."
Next up Garret takes another card placing it on the zone beside Pile Armed Dragon's card, "Now, I'll summon Armed Dragon, the Armored Dragon!"
A smaller tornado build around Pile Armed Dragon before dissipating to show a second dragon raising up. This dragon looks more like a dragon as evident by it's long neck, and tail along with sharp silver talons on it's four fingers. Along with that is small armor covering it's chest that's green with an emerald at the center with two round shoulder plates with small spikes on them along with knee cap plates on it's knees, and an upper arm plates on it with a small plate on it's jaw, and a mane of green horns slightly curved.

Ultimately deciding to not worry about the type of Deck he's up against Dan drew seeing his hand contains, Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord, Hieratic Seal of Creation, Monster Gate, Hieratic Dragon of Tefnuit, Hieratic Dragon of Eset, and Hieratic Seal of Reflection. With that he called, "Alright for my first move, I'll start off by summon Hieratic Dragon of Tefnuit!"
The Hieratic Seal appeared in front of him on the ground as the dragon rose up. It was a white glowing scaled dragon that's muscular, and having on golden armor the same way as the other Hieratic Dragons with the same wings, and having talons as it's fingers similar to Armed Dragon, the Armored Dragon's. It also has a Chestplate that has the Hieratic Crest on it, and a helmet plate on with lower leg plates on with it also on it's lower back, and down to it's tail roaring.

Dan answered his opponent's question with a grin: "It's cause of both your monsters. Since your the only one that has a monster, I am able to summon Tefnuit from my hand." That was before he takes a second card, "And like you did after you summoned your dragon, I can summon another from my hand. I now summon Hieratic Dragon of Eset!"
A second Hieratic Seal appeared beside Tefnuit before raising up was a dragon that is kind of the same appearance as Su but in a different manner. It has the same blue scales, and golden armor as Su but unlike it, it's armor is more lesser with it's arms being it's energy wings roaring with the Hieratic Crest at it's chestplate.

Dan at this grabbed Monster Gate's card, "With this Spell. Monster Gate!" He inserts the card in his Duel Disk as the spell was flipped up showing itself in front of him which shows of a Giga Gagagigo emerging from energy from a seal behind in.

Tefnuit vanished which made Garret blinked surprised, "Your sacrificing your strongest card?"
"When I summon Tefnuit by it's ability, it can't attack."
Dan raised his Duel Disk for a dramatic effect, "Let's see the card, I'm gonna get is! First card!" He drew the card, and shows it to be Hieratic Seal From the Ashes sending it to the graveyard. "Second card." He drew before showing everyone it was a second Hieratic Seal of Creation sending that to the graveyard before drawing again, "Third card." He shows the card to be Hieratic Seal of the Dragon King before calling, "Hieratic Seal of the Dragon King is a monster, I can summon! Come Hieratic Seal of the Dragon King!"
The seal appeared before raising up showing a sphere that's the same as Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord but noticeably smaller, and a little darker.

Allie was confused on what Nico meant by 'Gemini', "Gemini Monster? What are they?" Frederick also looked confused from that.
Tate takes this moment to explain Gemini Monsters to them. "Basically a Gemini monster, is a monster that has an effect where their Normal Monsters on the field, or in the graveyard. If you use your Normal Summon on them, you can give them their true abilities where they become effect monsters that laid dormant at first."
"But he already Normal Summoned so how can he use it?" Frederick asked them.
Dan cleared out the confusion. "I'm not using Dragon Seal's Gemini properties. I got something else in mind of it." That was before he called, "But before that their was a reason why I Tributed, Tefnuit. When sacrificed he allows me to summon a Dragon from my Deck, Hand, or Graveyard that's a Normal Monster, and make it's attack, and defense points 0."
"So you benefited by getting two monsters." Garret realized as a third seal appeared in between Eset, and Dragon Seal.
Taking an ejected card Dan called, "Alright raise up! Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord!"
What rose up from the Seal was the same Sphere that appeared in his duel with Yuto.

A mysterious engraved Hieratic relic. It was thought to be a simple stone, but it was actually infused with the power of a sun-wielding dragon. Aeons passed, and the power of the relic grew and grew until it finally shone like the sun itself.
"A Level 8 monster huh? And one that doesn't have any points so Tefnuit's downside doesn't matter."
"Yup." Dan nodded to Garret hearing that before adding, "But here's the next part! I activate Eset's Special Ability!" Eset glowed bright as the three dragons on Dan's field glowed bright. "I take a Dragon on my field, and make all my other monsters the same level as that dragon!" Garret widen his eyes as Dan pointed up to his Sphere, "I target the Level 8, Overlord Seal!"
With Eset's level changing properties both it, and Dragon King Seal both grew larger, "So now both Eset, and Dragon King Seal both become level 8!"

Zuzu's eyes widen seeing this recalling Dan's duel against Yuto which he greatly lost against with Arc Rebellion attacking his weakened dragon before shaking her head knowing Dan wasn't seriously harmed. Yuya who seen that lent a confused look for her which she gave him an assuring smile which made him nod with a soft smile as they turned back before Dan called, "Now I Overlay Level 8 Dragon Seal, and Overlord Seal!" The two glowed golden flying into the Overlay Network as it build above, "With these two Normal Monsters, I build the Overlay Network!"
The Overlay Network shattered as it materialized the monster.
"Dragon sealed from the ground above! Break free from your seal in order to guard the life above with the eternal lightning! Xyz Summon! Rank 8, Thunder End Dragon!"
The lightning crackles as the Overlay Network faded revealing the appearance of the summoned dragon which is a black scaled dragon in silver, and blue armor with two white horns on it's head with a long armored neck, and tail having large silver spikes at it's blue armored kneecaps with the same on it's plated elbow guards, and in between it's knuckles while having large armored plated blue wings five silver talons as it's fingers, another spike at it's chin showing it's teeth, and white clear eyes roaring.

Nico also can't believe what he's seeing as well. He thought that only Leo Students can use Xyz, Fusion, and Synchro but clearly Dan before him as a You Show student can use the different summoning methods as well. He wonders where exactly Dan learned to Xyz Summon like this, like he had played that for years. You Show meanwhile smiled knowingly as Tate said to them, "Well Dan shows us he can really Xyz Summon."
"And such a large Dragon too..." Sora trailed off eyeing the dragon in suspicion.
Dan soon raised his arm up calling, "Now, I activate Thunder End Dragon's special ability!" The dragon roared taking a Unit as lightning crackled along it's body. (ORU: 2 - 1) "By using an Overlay Unit all monsters other then it's self on the field are destroyed! Thunder Annihilation!"
Thunder End Dragon roared charging lightning all over the field as it crackled striking Eset, Pile Armed Dragon, and Armed Dragon, the Armored Dragon leaving Garret's field empty of monster as said boy braced himself with his arms while Dan tries to stay balanced himself by stepping one foot back. When they looked back Thunder End Dragon's lightning faded into it's body as the sole monster on the field.
"Whoa that's quite an effect..." Yuya admitted to them a bit surprised.
"Little D's dragon is like Dark Hole." Gong agreed seeing this.
"And his field is wide open for an attack!" Allie smiled seeing that Garret will take 3000 points of damage at once when it attacks.
Sora shakes his head, "It wouldn't work." When the You Show Trio looked over to him confused Sora explained, "True Garret's field is clear of monsters but he still has a set card on his field which he can use to defend himself."
"So if Thunder End attacks then he would risk running into a trap." Zuzu added to Sora's logic.
Dan takes the other spell in his hand calling, "Well, I got something against that trap. The Spell, Hieratic Seal of Creation!" Hieratic Seal of Creation's card rose up showing itself in the artwork of Hieratic Seal of the Dragon King in a cloudy landscape that has dawn approaching with a seal below it while the sphere glows like it's getting ready to be unsealed.

Thunder End Dragon roared turning into golden energy entering the Overlay Network again as they watched in shock as the Overlay Network exploded materializing the monster.
"Dragon Emperor sealed in the ground for an eternity! Break your seal to revive back to defend the earth from the coming darkness ahead! Xyz Summon! Rank 8, Hieratic Sky Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis!"
What lowered from the Overlay Network was a new dragon roaring loud. Like Sun Dragon Overlord it has the same armor but has dark blue scales, and red glowing eyes with the same wings that are light based also three stream energy based like a folding fan with golden plated armor around it's entire torso, plated gauntlets with chains acting as straps over it's shoulders holding the armor up.

"But it's attack points are the same as Thunder End Dragon's. How is it suppose to be against what trap he has?" Tate couldn't help but ask seeing the dragon's stats.
Sora lightly bobbed his head which made Tate yelp before Sora explained, "You dummy, it's cause Dan's new dragon might have a special ability to combat that trap."
Dan then called, "Alright Sky Dragon charge at him!" Sky Dragon raised up charging energy. Garret at this jumped up before grabbing an Action Card, "Not so fast, I activate the Action Spell, Evasion!"

Hieratic Seal!"
Sky Dragon glowed bright as Evasion lost it's effect shattering while Garret braced himself. With Evasion's effect gone Sky Dragon fired the large attack striking Garret as he cried out pushed back but grabs a platform flipping up onto it on a knee with a hand down. (Garret: 1000/Hand: 1)
"So that's what that dragon does!" Allie cried seeing that.
"Yeah really effective." Yuya said seeing this, "First a dragon that can stop Action Cards during battle, and now a Dragon that can stop those same cards that have targeting effects."
"It's like Dan's dragons are made to counter Action Cards." Zuzu admitted hearing that.
"But that makes Little D more stronger." Gong said at this as they stared on.
Dan then places down a card with a grin, "Since I'm done for now, I'll place this card face-down to end my turn." Left with only the Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord in his hand he gave the turn toward his opponent. "Your up Garret."

Garret grinned over to him excited for such a strong opponent like Dan. From his time as the strongest student in this Duel School, he went he had hit a wall since he felt he had hit his peak but from now battling Dan he feels he can go further in his power. So now he's ready to take it to the next Level so with that he raise up, and held his chin up high with his shoulders straight. "Okay draw!" Garret drew at this looking at his drawn card before gesturing a hand to his field, "And I use my face-down, Armed Dragon Flash!"
A Quick-Play Spell that has a small dragon resembling Pile Armed Dragon that has lightning bolt symbols on it's body bursting out of the ground with a lightning form of a larger version of itself was flipped up.

What rose in electricity from the ground was the same dragon from the spell roaring knelling down in defense. With a closer look from the spell's effect vanishing, Armed Dragon Thunder LV3 shapes as a small yellow scaled dragon with silver armor like Pile Armed Dragon's having some drills at some places but also has small yellow lightning bolt like symbols around it's body with glowing yellow eyes.

The dragon finished evolving before what rose was a larger version of Thunder LV3 that's red scaled like Pile Armed Dragon, and like Thunder LV3 has yellow lightning bolt symbols on it's body while also having spiked knuckle bracers on it's knuckles crackling with electricity while having spikes around it's body.

"Yes for you see Garret's Deck the Armed Dragons are a rather aggressive Deck to master." Nico took this chance to clear some confusion after seeing the chance from Yuya. "The regular counterparts of those Dragons depend on evolving through battle while destroying multiple cards at once. There Thunder Counterparts further extended there aggression as with it they can rapidly evolve further to summon either the originals or the Thunder Counterparts for aggressive playstyles while benefiting Garret if there sent to the graveyard from the effect of a Dragon."
"So shouldn't Garret benefit from Thunder LV3 being used earlier?" Allie brought up a good question since Garret did nothing after using Thunder LV3's effect to summon Thunder LV5.
"Well no, and that's because Armed Dragon Thunder LV3 wasn't sent as a cost. Rather then being sent as a cost it's effect resolves where the effect activates after setting up the conditions needed for it." Nico explained that Thunder LV3's effect only activates when it's been used as a cost not after the effect resolves.
Then again the term difference between costs, and resolves can be really confusing sometimes so it is pretty easy to mistake it like that at times.
"Even if Thunder LV3 can't use it's effect the card, I sent can. It was a second Thunder LV3, and when that one was sent to the graveyard as a cost to use a Dragon's special ability, I draw a card!" Garret drew after revealing he had a second Thunder LV3 to use it's final effect even when the one he used for the effect on didn't work.
"So you had a second one in hand so you can use all the effects of Thunder LV3 even if the one you used to evolve can't." Dan can't deny how smart that strategic play is but wonders what other surprises there are.
He is about to find out apparently.
"Well if you think that's good wait until you see this! I'll use Thunder LV5's own ability! This time, I discard Armed Dragon Thunder LV7 from my hand to the graveyard to summon a second Thunder LV7!"
From Garret's move Thunder LV5 glowed in electricity evolving again raising up. What appeared from the electricity was a larger version almost the same appearance as Pile Armed Dragon instead of drills it's spikes have the same lightning bolt symbol as the previous counterparts all around with a long tail that has spikes shaped as yellow lightning points, and a drill at the end, and it's silver wings shaped as lightning bolts too though with a finisher lightning crackles all around it roaring.

Garret searches his Deck, and pulled out a Continuous Spell placing his Deck back before sending his card beside it. "And finally one more step! I use Thunder LV7's special ability! I send another monster from my hand to the graveyard to evolve Thunder LV7 into it's final form!"
"LV10 at just one go?" Dan asked shocked hearing that.
Lightning crackled again around Thunder LV7 as it grew larger. The lightning broke out from the force of the new monster as it roared loud. This next dragon was larger then Thunder LV7, and Pile Armed Dragon this time having more developed armor which is a black torso plate having two lightning bolt symbols at both breast plates mirroring each other with spikes at the front, knees, shoulders, and elbows shaped and having the lightning bolts glowing on it along with drill like shapes around both it's upper arms, and it's tail with the end having a large ball of pulsing yellow electricity crackling. The only other thing on it's body that has that are it's wings that raised up with the inside pulsing with yellow energy that is also electricity crackling along the wings, and it's head armor having spikes, and lightning bolts too presenting itself as a powerful boss monster.

"O-Oh man..." Dan trailed off stunned as he watches the large dragon.
From seeing Armed Dragon LV10 in action before, Dan could definitely see this dragon might be even more powerful then it's original counterpart. If the presence, appearance, and aura it has doesn't exactly prove that, what can?
"Alright now here are some effects you should prepare for! For one thing as it's summoned by an Armed Dragon it gains abilities based on it's Attack Points!" Garret grinned raising an arm to his ace monster. "With just 1 attack point, it's name becomes Armed Dragon LV10! Then next up with it being 10, you cannot use change control of it! 100 or more allows it to survive any attack you dish out at it! 1000 or more allows him to destroy a card on your field once a turn by sending a card in my hand to the graveyard for him to gain 1000 attack points! And finally if he has more then 10000, all other cards on the field will be destroyed!"
"So as his monster gets stronger so does it's abilities?" Zuzu was stunned from how powerful this dragon is just after it's summoned from a monster effect. She was no stranger from monsters receiving powerful abilities if summoned from monsters since her own deck focuses on that concept only it works whenever there Special Summoned rather then being only from monster effects but something like this dragon is on a whole other level then what she is used too. Rapidly evolving, and then summoning a monster just as powerful as this dragon... Definitely not something she wants to mess with.
"Well it isn't his turn so Little D's dragon is safe from it's effect." Gong had seen a flaw from the effects it had gained which was a solid point as it can only gain power during Dan's turn.
"Maybe but not from attacks!" Garret jumped up for an Action Card. Taking the Continuous Spell he had added before he inserted it in his Duel Disk to use it. "But before then I use the Continuous Spell, Armed Dragon Lightning!"
The Continuous Spell shows itself as Armed Dragon Thunder LV7 equipped with spinning electric drills was seen.

Heeding the command, Thunder LV10, raised an arm as electricity crackled around it's body gathering in it's raised hand charging electricity before it spread it's wings flying up at Sky Dragon Overlord who roared in defiance charging down to retaliate. Seeing this Dan quickly moved to find an Action Card to protect Sky Overlord. Seeing one in between some stones nearby he ran over, and managed to grab the card only for Thunder LV10 to finish it's attack striking Sky Overlord at the chest as it roared loud being destroyed in a huge electric blast while Dan stepped back from the force before looking at the Action Card when it died down seeing it was Evasion. (Dan: 3000/Hand: 2)
"That's too bad." Garret stepped forward on top of a stone monument while revealing in between his fingers an Action Card which he adds to his hand. "Your Xyz was definitely a strong card but now with it gone, there's not much else you can do against Thunder LV10." He then gave a shrug. "But I'm aware that this won't bring you down. So now how can you get out of this?"

Dan 2nd Turn:
'That's the big question. A huge Armed Dragon with 4000 attack points that can't be destroyed by battle or taken control over. It can also destroy a card during each of my turns to keep gaining attack points...' Dan thought during the situation he is in to think of a way out of this mess. With Sky Overlord gone, things had gotten even more difficult for his case as he had taken the boy's advice last night to make his Hieratics better, and now be the time to take it out for a go to try again, and this is the result that had happened. Ah well life's nothing without a little risks. Speaking of which...
"Okay draw!" Dan drew, and looked to see it was Waking the Dragon which he gave a small wince. 'Knew that using Reflection earlier would be a bad move...' His face-down which was a Counter Trap called, Hieratic Seal of Reflection, would allow Dan to cancel out a Spell, or a Trap, or a Monster's Special Ability, and destroy it, but requires the risk of Tributing a Hieratic he controls which is why he didn't use it earlier against Garret's earlier moves as it would sacrifice Sky Overlord, and leave his field open for attacks in case something like Thunder LV10 with the way it is now comes.
With nothing else to do with a bad draw, Dan only sets Waking the Dragon. "I place 1 card down, and end my turn."
"Well before you end your turn, I use Thunder LV10's ability! By sending a card from my hand to the graveyard, I can destroy a card on your field, and Thunder LV10 gains 1000 attack points!" Garret discarded his Action Card as Thunder LV10 charged lightning in it's tail firing a lightning bolt which revealed Dan's Counter Trap towards them, and destroys it without mercy.

"With how that big dragon is there is not much Dan can do against him." Sora brought up from seeing how strong Garret set up his field to where otherside from gaining 1000 ATK points every turn both his, and his opponent's he can also destroy cards to disrupt Dan's turns.
"Well hey we know Dan can pull this off!" Yuya doesn't lose faith in Dan even with this as he points that out. "We know Dan is tough, and he can be up to something!"
"But for that something to work is to pull it off!" Garret drew while stating the fact. "And it starts with Armed Dragon Lightning's effect again! Thunder LV10 gains another 1000 attack points!"
The spell's effect made Thunder LV10 even stronger.

Dan drew two cards checking to see he had drawn Hieratic Seal of Supremacy, and Return of the Dragon Lords. Both powerful spells which can stem the tide for Dan but he has to survive this turn in order to use them.
And from the look of things Garret isn't intending to give him mercy.
"And from that, I can summon any LV monster from my graveyard no matter how strong it is. Only it can't attack nor can use have it's effects be used this turn." Garret added as his graveyard glowed. "So now come on back, Armed Dragon LV7!"
What beside Thunder LV10 was another Armed Dragon. Unlike Thunder LV7, it's original counterpart shows itself different appearance as it doesn't have lightning bolts around instead having drills, and spikes around it's body roaring.

Sora narrowed his eyes from this. He had seen one other person use the Armed Dragons before, and while Garret isn't as powerful as that person, he does have some skill with them. Able to use old cards like Level Down!? to get around Level Modulation's downside isn't bad but he had seen better moves.
"So he summoned a monster with Level Modulation used Level Down!? to place it back to summon a lower Leveled form to summon it again later!" Tate was quite impressed from Garret's versatility with his cards though should probably be expected cause he's a kid.
"It's not really that impressive if you a student at this Duel School." Nico admitted over to them. "The LV requires a lot of focus, and control to master over. Something like Level Modulation, and Level Down!? together is almost predictable to guess over. Simple but effective."
"Even then it's still a strong combination if used right." Gong couldn't help but said over as he watches with crossed arms.
"And now Thunder LV10 attack him directly!"
Thunder LV10 readied an attack firing it's attack, Thunder Orb Pulse, at Dan as said boy takes the Action Card he had before to defend himself.
"I use the Action Spell, Evasion! The attack is negated!" Dan quickly dodged left to avoid the attack.
"Then Armed Dragon LV5 attack him directly with Spiked Spinner!" Armed Dragon LV5 spin it's arm charging forward, and gave a punch to Dan's torso pushing him back while Dan shook his head. (Dan: 0600/Hand: 3) Dan looks over towards Garrett who grinned over towards him. "Well, that be all of this here. Not looking good for ya. Still thinking, you have a chance here?"
Dan looks over before he grinned over. "Well yeah!" Garrett blinked over from this as the young boy explained towards him. "Why would I be discouraged over this? This is a fun duel, and you managing to do this much is awesome! Makes me want to try harder!" No matter how tough the situation gets, Dan will always fight back, and come up with ideas, or plans to deal with powerful monsters such as the two dragons in front of him.
Garrett himself grinned over towards him shrugging. "Okay then, your move now!" He moved running to try finding an Action card for him to use now. Probably to use for defense, or to use Thunder LV10's ability once more.

Dan moved himself towards an Action card himself reaching over. When the going gets tough, the tough get dueling! That's the motto of You Show, and he will carry on that spirit no matter the circumstances. So with that Dan drew. "I draw!"
"And while your doing that, I activate Armed Dragon Thunder LV10's effect! I discard a card to not only give it 1000 points but also destroy your set card!" Garrett grabbed an Action Card quickly discarding it after seeing it was Acceleration. From the effect activating Thunder LV10 charged a large pulse of electric energy before blasting over at Dan's other set card destroying it without hesitation.

"Now Dan has nothing on his field!"
"Don't be too sure Allie." Yuya knows from the grin on Dan's face, that he had been waiting on that.
The confused You Show Trio looked back towards the field while the boy from there school grinned over towards Garrett. "Thanks for that, Garret!"
"Huh?"
A trap was revealed on the field from this which shows of the Goblin of Greed seeming to be slowly approaching Sinister Serpent that looked to be warning him while in a grass field with a house behind them.
"Wait, Waking the Dragon!?"
"So you know this trap." Dan grinned as he takes a card from his Deck. "Well then, you should know that as it was destroyed by your effect, I can summon any monster I want from my Deck or Extra Deck!" He places his selected card on the field. "Like this one! Come out onto the field!" A red four sided star appeared beside him that he takes before throwing it up as it generated some light around them like galaxy light.
"Embodiment of the Galactic Universe! Appear here, and now before us to defend all who threaten the known universe! Come out, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!"
Materializing within the field was a large bipedal like dragon. It's eyes, true to it's name, are galaxies within while also a dull blue color with light around it's body with it's large wings being light like as well with blue light gems around it's body especially a diamond one at it's chest with a blue/red like scheme around it's body. On the field it roared loud upon being summoned above Dan.

"Whoa... that things feels, and looks powerful..." Zuzu couldn't help staring at it in awe from the power it is generating. She also couldn't help thinking she had seen this monster before although, that should be impossible. Dan has some legendary monsters in his Deck so maybe that is how she is finding his dragons familiar.
"3000 also. But against Thunder LV10's 7000, that's not gonna be enough for Little D." Gong spoke over that with it's continuous moves Level 10's ATK is way higher then Galaxy-Eyes'.
"I wouldn't put Dan out just yet." they looked towards Sora who grinned over. "I think he has a winning formula in mind." They looked back as Dan grinned over with Galaxy-Eyes on his field. Whenever he has that grin, they know that he has something planned. And Garrett also feels that way too. Despite just meeting him, he can already feel a lot from the young man in front of him... this powerful dragon is enough for him to not underestimate him which is why he went for LV10 Thunder already so he can deal with him. Now he walked into a trap, and gotten him this dragon.
So what does he need a monster with 3000 points for?
Dan looked over his drawn card. Seeing it's Oni-Gami Combo, Dan nodded already having a plan in mind. To both shut down, and destroy both dragons in a single move. So he checked over his hand, and takes Supremacy's card. "First I activate, Hieratic Seal of Supremacy!"

"This card allows me to summon a Hieratic from my hand! And I will choose my second Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord!" Dan shows the card summoning it as it rose beside Galaxy-Eyes.

"Then I activate Return of the Dragon Lords!" Dan shows another spell which has Paladin of Felgrand on it kneeling before a ruined statue resembling Felgrand Dragon.

"Wait, is that three Level 8s?" Yuya realized something with widen eyes. Realizing it as well from Yuya speaking this everyone widen there eyes that Dan now has 3 Level 8s on the field. That alone is difficult to gather but Dan managed to do it, and looks to be readying.
"Okay, let's go! I overlay Level 8 Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, and my 2 Level 8 Hieratic Seals!" Galaxy-Eyes roared loud as it alongside the two seals turned into golden light flying up towards the Overlay Network while everyone watched shocked. Dan also manifested something behind him which was a red key like object that he takes in his hand, and with a large grunt threw it at the Overlay Network where it broke apart, and merged with it while the Overlay Network broke apart to reveal the monster.
"True Embodiment of the Universe's Hope! From the radiant galaxy, be reborn into the form for you to defend the known universe! Reign against all who would threaten all those you care for! Xyz Summon! Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!"
Manifesting within was a large dragon glowing in red galactic energy with galaxies in it's eyes like Galaxy-Eyes. This also has a larger more stronger build then Galaxy-Eyes' more lean form alongside larger wings, and three tails with 2 heads on the wings. Making it's appearance on the field, it roared loud to show itself as a powerful monster.

Everyone stared at the large monster in shock. The red energy also caught the attention of many other students as they turned over while walking to see what the commotion was about. They see Neo Galaxy-Eyes which they all widen there eyes in awe seeing such a monster. It's like witnessing something as grand as Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon for the first time all over again.
"An Xyz Monster... with 4500 attack points... needing 3 Level 8s..." Garrett stared at the giant dragon as it stared over towards both of Garrett's monsters.
"And you will see what it can do! I activate it's special ability! Photon Howling!" Neo Galaxy-Eyes charged energy before it let out a large sonic roar over on Garrett's field which not only makes them weakened but also the Action Field seemed to be affected as well. "When it's summoned using Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon as an Overlay Unit, all other cards on the field have there effects negated!"

"What?" Yuya widen his eyes at such a powerful ability. "And he didn't even used an Overlay Unit for that!" If something like this is real, then it would mean this monster can have a large advantage on the field as without card effects the opponent has, it's like nothing can stop it.
"Now for the finisher! I activate Oni-Gami Combo!" Dan activated the last spell in his hand which was Oni-Gami Combo which shows of Gem-Knight Peral defeating a monster in it's artwork.

"Two attacks with 4500 attack points!?" Garrett widen his eyes shocked from the effects of the spell. Although it seemed unnecessary as his LP is 1000 where any monster Neo Photon Dragon attacks can be destroyed, and the leftover damage will total more then his own, Dan wants to destroy the two dragons at once.
"Okay Neo Photon Dragon attack with all your might!" Neo Photon Dragon charged a triple red blast readying over as Garrett grunted over stepping back. He's also unable to get an Action Card as Neo Photon Dragon seemed to have done something to the Action Field with it's first effect. "Ultimate Photon Stream of Destruction!" Neo Photon Dragon fired the charged blasts attacking both of the powerful dragons destroying them instantly. There duelist meanwhile grunted before he yelled out launched back, and landed on the field defeated.

Dan looked over towards Neo Photon Dragon smiling. This was the signature of Kite Tenjo, so fighting with the real thing here was quite an experience. And also something that he will look forward too in the future. "It was an honor to battle with you now Neo..." The dragon looked down towards him, and growled softly before it vanished alongside the Action Field. He then turned over to Garrett who slowly raised up he grinned giving out a catchphrase he had been working on. "Well, I owned the zone didn't I!?"
"Yeah... Yeah you did, and then did some." Garrett admitted raising up. "Well shucks that I lost..." Before he then grinned over towards the young boy. "But hey, at least that was a fun duel! And that Xyz Monster at the end, I've never seen anything like that! Total blood-pumping!" He isn't bothered by his loss over, just glad to face a duelist like Dan, and encountered some powerful monsters. That makes the experience worth the loss, and besides there will come a time where Garrett will be waiting to face Dan again.
Dan nodded as he, and Garrett shake hands with matching grins together. Sometime soon in the future, they will duel each other again, and will be stronger then before. Until that day comes, the two of them will train, and battle with there Decks, and Monsters growing stronger, and to one day reach Professional Duelist level.
"Dan done it!" Frederick cheered over alongside Tate, and Allie as they all high-fived together. "Ah yeah!"
"I never thought Dan be the person to use Xyz Summoning..." Nico although surprised from this then shrugged. It's not all THAT weird, with LID some people are gonna try different summon methods themselves so this isn't too surprising like the strategies, and predictability of the style of this Duel School. So he, and the others walked over where Dan seeing them turned over. "Well Dan, nice work on the duel. In fact, I already have a Duel Request ready for you. I will give you a day to rest, and be ready before we head to your next opponent."
Although surprised he already has another duel, Dan nodded deciding it be a better idea to rest up a little. The Arc-League is a few weeks off, and with 2 duels this quick, he is onto a good start. Yuya seemed to think so with his grin. "Well Dan, looks like you are catching up here. Maybe we both can duel in the Arc-League together depending on a number of things."
"Right Yuya, I will not go easy." Dan, and Yuya shook hands with matching grins.
So everyone walked out, and those that stayed felt pretty good. They had seen a really heart-pumping duel, and Dan is on the clear way to continue forward. A pretty good pace considering how last minute, Dan's attempt at catching up to Yuya for the Arc-League is going. So tomorrow is a lot to do, the next duel against whoever sent him a request already, and then getting ready for what's next. Of course, unaware to everyone a masked man was spying on them narrowing his eyes towards Dan.
His comrade, who had defeated him, had used Xyz Summoning like he was one of them. Now seeing it firsthand, he is sure his comrade is correct. Although he doesn't recognize Dan. Which could mean either 2 things.
1. He is a comrade who is a side character.
Or 2. He's one of THEM in disguise.
"Has to be a spy... there is no other reasonable explanation over how he is so skilled in Xyz Summoning..." he muttered to himself. He then pulled away deciding to leave to report back to his comrade for now. This kid can wait.
Whew! Feels good to finally finish this after starting it about 3 years ago, and left it alone all this time. Don't worry, you won't have such a long hiatus anymore, I'm gonna be focusing on Ascension here for a while. And about a Guest Review, who told me to tell Ulrich to shove it... I shove you instead. Don't mean to be rude, but I wouldn't have gotten this far without him so I will not tell him to get lost. Otherside from my niece being born, I also had numerous things I had done with other fanfic works, and recently my dog died from bronchitis. I'm back here now, and able to work back onto this cause I'll be damned if I let this go into Development Hell.
Next up, will again be Kit vs Dan as I like the dynamic of that match. But after that will be the change of duels as De Silva, and Ahmand both wouldn't work the way this fic had been going with the Ritual Arc, and Darklords alongside Gravekeeper's being a Fusion Deck now.
