Reviews from previous chapter:
Ulrich362:
First off fair enough Aura, you've definitely proven your skill with Ritual and Flip and I'm sure you'll do amazing in the Arc-League.
As for this chapter, just wow... ok where to start...What Yuto told Zuzu has so much to think about, other dimensions? Invasions, and their friends and Shay's sister being kidnapped... it answers some questions with others but hopefully Zuzu's point about using Fusion to defend her friends combined with the strongest duelist from Yuto's home using Fusion can help him and Shay realize Fusion itself isn't evil though I have a feeling it'll take more than just words to help especially if they've completely abandoned Fusion as a whole. Still it could be a start to gain more allies if they're willing. Then we have Dan's duel with Ron, the Puppet Chess deck is certainly an interesting one and yeah mill decks can be tough to deal with, though using a sixty card deck is at least a better counter than a forty card deck, and the reveal of Majestic Red Dragon was definitely helpful. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Ron though and his new perspective on dueling will definitely be interesting to see moving forward, though I can't help but wonder what Dan will do if he needs to upgrade his Fusion Deck. Though then we have Shay's duel with the LID Trio and well... on the one hand Shay winning in a single blast makes sense though I have to feel bad for Kit, Dipper, and Julia considering the three of them are only trying to do what he was and yet well... if Declan didn't show up in time they would have been turned into cards and with Shay's personality I don't think he would have been against tearing them apart... he really needs to relax a lot. Fortunately it looks like they're going to be safe for now but with how strong Declan and Shay are if they come to blows here it won't end well. I guess only time will tell but things are going to get much worse for everyone in the very near future. Awesome chapter, looking forward to the update. Oh but I have to say I think Yuma would be glad Shay used that spell but very disappointed for the reason he used it... Astral Force used to hurt other people... I don't see him or Astral approving of that move.
Okay here are the questions:
Questions 1 & 2 from Ulrich362:
(To Zuzu)
Oh, and question for the chapter... I guess I'll just ask Zuzu if what Yuto told her about Lulu is helping her understand why she's recognizing Dan's powerful cards like Red Nova Dragon and Number 62: Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon.
Zuzu: Well... I don't know. Even though Lulu is Yuto's version of myself from how I understand it, it still doesn't explain why I am seeing Dan's monsters.
(To Dan)
Also a very small question for Dan himself but do you think you could beat Declan in a rematch as your sixth duel? Or is he still out of your league... at least for the time being?
Dan: No. I don't think so. Me, and him are forming a rivalry from how this fic is going but I don't think it be like that.
Questions 3 from StardustLive5:
(To Dan)
Since you been friend with Ron, do think Ron will made to the tournament with you?
Dan: I don't have a doubt he will make it. He's a powerful duelist, and if he improves, then he'll be stronger then ever.
I'm sure all of you have noticed that updated/new chapters between 4, and 8 (here as well) are switching back, and forth between old or new for some reason alongside some chapters me, and Ulrich done as the latest of our collabs are getting error messages. I don't know what the hell is going on with it, the site is probably messing up or something. But until it finally break downs, and stops working, I will keep going onto here. Just in case though, I am having this, and other fics being onto Archiver of Our Own (AO3) so that you all won't get things like this, at least until it's fixed or if this site stops working right.
That said, I will not stop doing what I do best here, and do what I can to have things here work right here, no matter what it takes. For now here, we have another chapter here to do where Dan will be in his fifth Duel, and we're back onto the original story here. Elijah with the Artifact monsters to be precise, and Dan will still regain that Deck you seen in this chapter although, there are some changes to be made to it, it's still the bad Deck build it was like before. Now let's get onto here!
Summary: With his victory over Ron, Dan is one step closer to qualify for the Arc-League Championship. Now with four victories at hand, Dan is taking some time to be ready for his next match as it will be even tougher, but while he gets his Decks ready, he happens to find something. A Deck, he thought he had lost had appeared for him. He doesn't have a chance to think about it before Nico had called him to say, that his next Duel is up so Dan headed over to Monolith Temple Duel School, a Duel School over relics from the past, and it's top student, Elijhah, uses a Deck that focuses over using effects on his opponent's turn, and can also Xyz Summon. Meanwhile, Shay, having seen the duel, and notices the kind of abilities Dan had used officially concludes him as an enemy, and decides to confront him at night for some answers.
Disclaimer: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! as a whole but I own any OCs! ENJOY!
Re-Edit: 2/15/25
"Make sure their memories of what happened are erased."
"Yes sir."
"Erased?"
Hector who had been watching his three fellow classmates, and representatives had caught wind of erasing memories turning over towards Declan who had instructed a scientist to mess with the heads of the three of them to erase their memories of their match, and search against Shay. Hector had listened in on Declan's conversation with Shay where he had learned that was not only the culprit on the attack of the Leo Students but also done so as a way to attract Declan's attention to head towards Shay.
He had learned a lot from that Declan has a father named Leo Akaba who seemed to be an enemy of Shay's but also Declan's as well given from how the conversation carried out where Lulu was someone that Leo Akaba had captured, and Shay wanted to use Declan as a bargaining chip for her but Declan revealed that his father wouldn't really care about his son's life if he had tried as if something is more important than his own son. But Declan had worked a compromise towards Shay where if he competes within the Arc-League, and wins alongside his comrade, then he will duel him, and if he wins, he will do whatever he wants with Declan.
Shay didn't refuse, and went back to meet up with Yuto as the paramedics take the unconscious Dipper, Julia, and Kit to a nearby clinic with Hector close behind. The ride wasn't long, and they were placed in a room together. Hector had been staring at them from a glass wall when Declan had come by with a scientist, and then spoke to him to erase their memories of their encounter with Shay which caught Hector's attention.
"Declan, what do you mean erased?" While the scientist walked to ready his part of erasing their memories Hector spoke up towards Declan to get some answers. Not about erasing the memories of his classmates but also about what he, and Shay had discussed. "Why are you doing that to them? And actually what was that talk you, and that guy had before? You both know each other, or something?"
"Why are you asking so many questions?" Hector blinked over before Declan then turned his gaze to him. "Hector, I know you have a lot of questions, you don't understand, but for your own safety, you can't know for now." Hector looked ready to protest about this to argue that he has the right to know from what he had seen before, and being the Top Student of the Ritual Course but Declan held a hand to stop him. "Your skills aren't being questioned, and I know that from what you saw, you have every right to know. But right now you can't. It is for your own safety, and for you to prepare yourself for the Arc-League Championship."
"What about Julia, Kit, and Dipper?"
"Their memories need to be erased for the act of secrecy. If word about this gets out we will have mass panic on our hands Hector." Declan spoke over to him. That was before he turned around with closed eyes after seeing the scientist completing his work. "But for now Hector, that is all you need to know, you need to keep all of what you had seen between us, and never tell Julia, Kit, Dipper, or Sylvio about this."
"Sylvio sir?" Hector asked this question as Declan proceeded to exit out. Why worry about that guy who is so arrogant because his father is the mayor?
"The latest member of the top of Summon Courses. In which case Pendulum. He has the talent to do so." With those last words Hector watches as Declan leaves the hospital leaving Hector alone to think. So LID is working on ways to improve themselves by finishing their Pendulum cards. And now Hector is given a small thing by Declan where he needs to keep this quiet for now, as this is really important to the point where Declan had talked with Shay personally about an offer, and then his fellow classmates' memories need to be erased.
What exactly is the deal here though? Why so much secrecy? Why so much unanswered? Why is Declan offering a deal to someone who has been attacking Leo Students? Well not really much Hector can do right now, so he turned back to his classmates worried for them while his face reflected off of the glass. Now it's them, and Sylvio as well, to lead LID to showcase their potential as top students of each different Summoning Courses. He hopes soon Declan can answer these questions he has... otherwise he feels he will take matters into his own hands.

...
...For Julia's sake.

"Now here..."
Dan is in his room staying at the Sakaki Residence. Right now he is editing his Deck, checking over some things, and being ready for his next duel. Lately he had been getting cards he thought of having, having no idea where they came from, but decided to work it into the Deck figuring it would be better than asking for money, and buying some card packs that wouldn't help at this rate as they don't work with his Decks. He had been at this for a few days making sure they are ready when his next duel comes up, after that match against Ron who is a Mill Deck user, he needs to be ready in case he faces someone stronger. This is his fifth duel so he needs to be prepared.
While working something had caught his attention. Confused, he looked over to see a black Deck Box beside the bed. That's odd, he had never seen this Deck before. "Huh? Did Yuya leave this here?" Getting off his seat at the desk, Dan reaches down, and takes the Deck Box. He curiously opens it, and pulls out a card. Seeing it, he widen his eyes as he reads the name:
"Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon." When he did, Dan checked over the Deck seeing the contents of it. It's not really much of an impressive Deck made with LIGHT, and DARK Dragons of LV 8 alongside using cards to banish others. Seeing the Deck, Dan widened his eyes when he realized what this is. It's a Deck he thought he had lost, another Xyz Deck, that he had created alongside Hieratic. A friend of his gave him a box of cards after he said he wasn't interested in Yu-Gi-Oh! anymore, and said that they contain powerful kinds for him to make. Dan knows this was because his friend trusts him, and promises to take good care of them. Dan made an Xyz Deck which was this out of those mishmash cards, and lost it later which he felt terrible when that happened since he promised his friend he would take care of the cards.
But for it to suddenly appear here out of nowhere, and ready to use... What could this mean? Taking the Deck he places it with his other Decks staring at it. If the Deck had come here out of nowhere, then it must've meant that whoever is supplying him the cards he has now, has a hand into giving him the Deck he thought he lost to better assist him. Who could it be though...?
When he thinks of it he has a message from Nico. Checking to see, Nico has found him another duel. Seeing the location pinpointed on his Duel Disk's map, Dan looked over, and then gathered his Decks to head over. Now isn't the time to discuss over, or think about how his Deck appeared so suddenly like this, he knows he needs to head for this duel, and get qualified for the Championship on time.
After texting the others, Dan alongside Yuya, Zuzu, Sora, Aura, Tate, Allie, & Frederick walked together towards a location. Another Duel School where Dan is supposed to duel at, and if he wins this one it will be his fifth win in a row. From what Dan said it's something called, Monolith Temple Duel School, which from the name must be some ancient ruins themed Duel School. What kind of Duel should they expect? If Dan's last ones involve him facing a Level-Up Duelist, Kit, a Pendulum Duelist, and a Mill Duelist, they should expect the unexpected that Dan will face against.
Arriving at the location they see a door in some dirt-path that doesn't look much. They blinked from this confusion. This is the Duel School where Nico found the next duel for Dan? Level-Up Duel School wasn't much to look at either but this one doesn't look that big either. Deciding to bite the bullet, Dan walked over, and knocked on the door which it opened revealing Nico having a grin on his face. Observing the group he then sees Dan among them that he grinned over. "Oh hello there, Dan, my boy, I've been waiting for you." He opened the door wide allowing them all inside as they looked at each other. They all shrugged, deciding to head inside as Nico closed the door behind them with mining lights on the walls of the dirt path for them to see.
"So Nico, what's the deal with the set-up?"
"Monolith Temple is a Duel School underground." Nico explained to them which surprised them. He then turned with his signature grin over to them. "Come now, didn't the name mean anything other than the theme? Temples, and ancient relics are always underground. Like so, this Duel School is also underground!" That made them all blink before then looking embarrassed. That kind of slipped their minds but Nico does make a good point, if this Duel School's theme really is based on ancient relics or artifacts underground, then it shouldn't be that surprising that the Duel School is also underground like those things.
Soon they arrived at the bottom of the dirt path where they saw a temple was in front of them with a sign saying Monolith Temple Duel School written on it nearby. Nico guided them inside where they saw students training, practicing, or observing some relics they found while also cleaning or restoring said artifacts while discussing what they possibly could be. Dan watches over as he walks to his opponent. Artifacts, and relics... it reminds him of the Millennium Items, dangerous artifacts that hold the power of the Shadow Games played within Ancient Egypt.
He remembers the iconic ones such as the Millennium Puzzle, and the Millennium Ring. The others are used by strong characters but those two are the most well known from Yugi Muto, Atem, Bakura, and Zorc using those Millennium Items for total power over the Shadow Games to usurp each other. In the end from the 5000 year conflict that happened, Yugi, and Atem were victorious at stopping Bandit King Bakura, and Zorc from using the power of the Millennium Items to take control of all of Egypt. Those Millennium Items are gone now back to Egypt where they should slumber for all of time, and Dan hopes nothing can use them again like how they were used in the past.
"So this is the opponent from You Show?" they all looked up seeing someone was sitting on a ledge of the temple staring down at them. He gets up standing before jumping down alarming You Show before the person landed on his feet without trouble. This boy has pale skin, smooth black hair that is somewhat covering his left eye, and has on nothing more than a brown robe with temple designs on it. "I'm Elijah, Monolith Temple's class rep for the Arc-League." Oh he's the class rep? He certainly looks like someone important.
Hearing something they all turned where an older man is speaking over to Nico. It doesn't look like he finds this to be a good idea as there wasn't a need to worry about Elijah qualifying now. "Nico, are you sure this is a good idea? Elijah has already qualified for the Arc-League so it wouldn't be any good if he wins the duel?"
"Oh dear sir, I truly understand how you feel but this is for Dan's own duel." Nico gestured to said young man who blinked over. "Besides right now this is the only Duel School that has an opening at this point so Elijah needs to duel him here so Dan can have a chance to qualify." It looked as though this was a last minute Duel School option for Dan so Nico had signed him up here for Dan to have a fair chance at qualifying for the Arc-League against an opponent like Elijah who despite already qualifying for it, can duel hopefuls for a chance to duel within the Championship as well. "So let's get this duel on the road here, shall we?" The elder man was still a little hesitant but nodded regardless, guiding them all towards the Dueling field ahead.
They all walked to the field arriving as Dan took out his chosen Deck placing it in his Duel Disk turning over as Elijah readied his own Deck. They turned over where the elder man raised an arm. "Now everyone, we are proud to have this duel here today between You Show Hopeful, Dan Kizami, and our representative from Monolith Temple, Elijah Jones. Like all the ancient relics buried underground, the duelists they are today are also as a result of potential waiting to surface, and we are to excavate that dueling prowess within." The elder man snapped his fingers which on the screen an Action Field appeared. "From here the duel will be taking place within the Ancient Artifact Tomb!"
Ancient Artifact Tomb
Action Field Spell
You can use Action Cards, but you can only have 1 Action Card in your hand.
"Augmented reality combat system energized. Generating Action Field."
Appearing around them was a large battle area where they seem to be in the deepest ruins of a temple buried underground surrounded by mysterious relics, and artifacts down below. Dan can also make out some of the artifacts such as Stonehenge as another of those artifacts alongside some other things. This is really making him think he is within the tomb where the Millennium Items are. The only thing that's missing is probably the Ceremonial Duel area that Atem, and Yugi dueled each other on for Atem to be back to the afterlife.
"Tombs... really are scary to be into." Frederick doesn't look like he's a fan of this field. "It's giving me the shivers... And in a bad way."
"Where's your sense of adventure Frederick? Would there be any mummies or stuff?" Allie had an opposite expression with a large smile excited at the prospect of ancient ruins to see what they can discover from lost civilizations that existed long before they are here now.
"I don't know if I'm in the mood for mummies..."
"Especially if you know how they got ready to be mummies. Stick a hot flaming poker up the nose, and stew the brains for it all to come out without carving the head." All three of the You Show Trio looked sick when they heard this from Sora while Zuzu just gave him a look which confuses him. "What?"
"No-one wants to know that..." Aura trailed off looking uncomfortable herself from what she learned. She knew about how mummies are but didn't think that the brain of them could be removed that way... she hoped those unfortunate souls were already dead before then so they wouldn't feel that kind of thing.
"I hope you're ready, kid. I'm always the best at this Duel School. Can you handle someone like me?" Elijah once he finishes getting his Deck ready, looks over towards Dan. This kid shouldn't be that much trouble.
"Yeah, I think I can." Dan nodded. Then he gets the duel started starting with the Action Duel Chant. "Duelists locked in battle!"
"Kicking the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!" Elijah follows along as he spins around to continue on with a raised fist. "They storm through this field!"
"Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling!" Nico raised a hand to snap his fingers while he followed through with this.
"ACTION...!" Everyone in the audience started on their part.
"DUEL!" Nico snapped his fingers which the Action Cards scattered around like usual.
(Dueling Theme: Move by TKF)
Dan: 4000
Hand: 5
Field: Nothing
Elijah: 4000
Hand: 5
Field: Nothing
Let the duel commence!
Elijah 1st Turn:
"It's my turn first." Elijah checks over his hand, and then sets 4 cards. "With these four set cards, I end my turn." That confuses everyone. Only set cards, and not a monster? Why would he make a move like that? Well Dan has a sneaking suspicion, he knows from the theme of this Duel School, there is bound to be a Deck that fits into this, and what could fit onto here alongside Elijah just setting cards. If he's right then he's in for a fight on his hands...
Elijah's Hand: 1/Field: Four Set Cards
Dan 1st Turn:
"Okay my turn now! Draw!" Dan drew, checking over his options. After two wins in a row with his Xyz, and Synchro Decks, he is using his Fusion Deck now so You Show can see what else he is hiding in his Deck. From what they get so far was that he focuses on Red-Eyes, and a priority over Normal Monsters alongside summoning a powerful shield such as First of the Dragons. They get to see Dan's other abilities with the Deck, and they are gonna be surprised from what they will see here.
Meanwhile watching nearby was Shay masked starting over at Dan suspiciously. It wasn't long after his agreement with Declan, and after seeing Zuzu, and Yuya, someone who looks like Yuto alongside with Dan he moved to see what they are up too entering Monolith Temple without much trouble without getting spotted. And now he sees Dan is dueling next which means now is the time to see if his suspicions are correct, is he really a Fusion Spy? Will he continue using that Hieratic Deck that has Galaxy-Eyes within it, or will he really use his real Deck that includes Fusion?
Dan checks over his options which are One Day of Peace, Dark Dragon Ritual, Cards of the Red Stone, the Black Stone of Legend, Polymerization, and Red-Eyes Spirit. Not much of a hand as it's mostly spells but he can work with these. And they are all good as well. So he takes the Black Stone of Legend's card placing it in. "For my first move, I summon the Black Stone of Legend!" Materializing in front of him was a black stone that has a red shining jewel on it almost like an egg.
(Attack Position)
The Black Stone of Legend
DARK
Level 1
Dragon/Effect
ATK: 0
DEF: 0
You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 Level 7 or lower "Red-Eyes" monster from your Deck. If this card is in your GY: You can target 1 Level 7 or lower "Red-Eyes" monster in your GY; shuffle it into the Deck, and if you do, add this card to your hand. You can only use 1 "The Black Stone of Legend" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
"This stone doesn't seem like much but by sacrificing it, I can summon a Red-Eyes that's level 4 or lower from my Deck!" Dan sends the card to the graveyard as he takes a card out of his Deck while the Stone on his field breaks apart to materialize the monster. "And its name is Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" From the light came the original Red-Eyes as it roared loud above Dan onto the field ready to battle against what its opponent is today.
(Attack Position)
Red-Eyes Black Dragon
DARK
Level 7
Dragon/Normal
ATK: 2400
DEF: 2000
A ferocious dragon with a deadly attack.
"So it's his Fusion Deck then."
Sora nodded in agreement when Zuzu spoke about that. They've been wondering when they will see Dan using his other Deck. They haven't seen him used so far, and right now was their answer. After all they had seen from Dan's other Decks such as evolving Xyz Monsters, that Prime Photon Dragon, Red Nova Dragon, and Majestic Red Dragon, they wondered what kind of things Dan had been hiding in his Deck. Now is the time for answers as they watch over how this will go.
Elijah looked up at the dragon... so he already summoned a Level 7 because of its special ability. It's a Normal Monster so it would be so easy to summon with that monster he summoned first, and a legendary monster such as Red-Eyes as well. This got interesting.
Dan then ran over grabbing an Action Card before he pointed ahead. "Okay Red-Eyes attack with Inferno Fire Blast!" Red-Eyes charged an attack as with no monster on his field Elijah looked to be an easy target.
But Elijah isn't an easy target. "I activate my face-down, Malevolent Catastrophe!" A trap of an orange fiend alongside a warrior were fighting to amidst a tornado as if referencing this card's effect.
Malevolent Catastrophe
Normal Trap Card
When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Destroy all Spells and Traps on the field.
"Malevolent Catastrophe!?" Seeing the card name Dan is sure that Elijah is playing the Deck he had been thinking he's using. Although he has no cards in his Spell & Trap Zone, he knows what he is really going for.
"Isn't that the trap that destroys every spell or trap on the field when an opponent's monster attacks?" Tate also recalls the card himself, and from how it's at, is confused why Elijah is using it when Dan doesn't have any of those on his field.
"Indeed, young man, and even if Dan has none of those cards on the field, he can still use them." Nico spoke which confuses them as a storm broke through destroying all three of Elijah's set cards which they noticed were monster cards.
"What? Those were monsters he placed down! He's cheating!" Allie argued when she noticed the set cards on Elijah's field. Monsters can't be placed in the Spell & Trap Zone only the Monster Zones! Isn't that why they are called 'Monster Zones' in the first place?
"Actually that move was legit." Allie, Frederick, and Tate turned to the elder man who simply spoke. "Just watch, and see what this is going to do." They turned back like he advised as Red-Eyes still charged it's attack.
"I activate the effects of Artifacts Caduceus, Moralltach, and Scythe!" Elijah raised an arm as three graveyard portals appeared which raised the three cards that were destroyed. "As these cards set from my Spell & Trap Zone were destroyed, I can summon them onto the field all in Attack Position!" The three transformed into the cards that they are.
First was Artifact Caduceus which was raised with a yellow energy being holding a staff that was the monster. The staff has some wings around the top with a configuration crest onto it alongside cogs, and some sort of pressure gauge on top of it, and silver cables down that is swirling down the handle.
(Attack Position)
Artifact Caduceus
LIGHT
Level 5
Fairy/Effect
ATK: 1600
DEF: 2400
You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Zone as a Spell Card. During your opponent's turn, if this Set card in the Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard: Special Summon it. During your opponent's turn, each time an "Artifact" monster(s) is Special Summoned: Draw 1 card. You must control this face-up card to activate and to resolve this effect. You can only control 1 "Artifact Caduceus".
Raising beside Caduceus was a blue energy person holding a two-handed sword. This one has a white blade with blue lines on it with the same crest, and cogs like the other one alongside golden fittings.
(Attack Position)
Artifact Moralltach
LIGHT
Level 5
Fairy/Effect
ATK: 2100
DEF: 1400
You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Zone as a Spell. During your opponent's turn, if this Set card in the Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed and sent to your GY: Special Summon it. If this card is Special Summoned during your opponent's turn: You can destroy 1 face-up card your opponent controls.
Lastly Scythe was wielded by a purple energy person with it having a black handle with a silver blade, and purple/black lines on it. It had the same crest, and cogs like the other two also had exhaust pipes on the back.
(Attack Position)
Artifact Scythe
LIGHT
Level 5
Fairy/Effect
ATK: 2200
DEF: 900
You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Zone as a Spell Card. During your opponent's turn, when this Set card in the Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard: Special Summon it. If this card is Special Summoned during your opponent's turn: Your opponent cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn.
"I knew it, the Artifacts." Dan frowned seeing this. The Artifact cards are a strong Deck due to their unpredictability as with none of them being summoned or being on the field like other others do, and take advantage of how opponents use destruction effects against others, they are a powerful Deck to face against. They also have an advantage of their own when it comes to extra summons...
"A Deck that can summon monsters from being in the Spell & Trap Zone?" Yuya was of course surprised that a Deck like the Artifacts exists. If they really do, then this could be something he needs to learn to adapt if he faces a Deck like this. Same goes for the others, they need to prepare themselves in case they face Decks like these as well.
"And with powerful effects as well."
"First is Caduceus' effect. As an Artifact was summoned during your turn, I drew another card." Elijah drew, adding his drawn card to his hand. "Then Moralltach's own special ability destroys a card on your field that's face-up!" Moralltach charges in as the person wielding it slashes down onto Red-Eyes destroying it without mercy as Dan watches grunting seeing how easily his monster was destroyed. At least his other cards are safe when he has suspicions about the Deck. "And finally as Scythe was summoned during your turn, you cannot summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn!" Scythe's person swiped the scythe that locked down Dan's Extra Deck with some chains.
"So he can't Fusion Summon now?" Nico, and the elder man blinked surprised hearing Tate asked that. Dan can also Fusion Summon as well? Xyz, Synchro, and now Fusion? Okay, well Nico should better expect more from Dan in that case. If he really can Fusion Summon, then it would mean he's tied in with a Leo Student in terms of summoning methods. Although he hasn't seen Dan use them in the same Deck, as it's focused on only one.
Dan checks over before taking a card. "In that case, I use One Day of Peace!" A spell showing of Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan inside an army samurai booth with the crest of the Six Samurai on it.
One Day of Peace
Normal Spell Card
Each player draws 1 card, and neither player takes damage until the end of the opponent's next turn.
"We both draw a card, and neither of us take damage until the end of your turn." Dan, and Elijah both draw a card each with Dan seeing his drawn card was Red-Eyes Wyvern. Alongside Caduceus' effect earlier, Elijah had drawn 2 cards this turn which gives him a little advantage come next turn. On the bright side he can't deal damage as Dan's One Day of Peace prevents him from doing so. And as Dan has no monsters on his field, that isn't that bad either as he will be defended entirely from the spell's effect.
Sora frowned while he watched this. If someone uses One Day of Peace, it would mean that Dan doesn't have any defenses for now. But he can't blame Dan since his only monster was destroyed real easily, and that he won't take anymore damage because of it. Still seeing that card... it's like retreating, a dishonorable act.
"I place 1 card down, and end my turn." Dan ended his turn after setting Red-Eyes Spirit which was what he could do. With One Day of Peace he can't take any damage from any attacks that Elijah throws at him. That will buy him enough time to think of a plan once his turn comes again.

Field: Artifact Caduceus (Attack Position), Artifact Moralltach (Attack Position), Artifact Scythe (Attack Position)
Elijah 2nd Turn:
"Then it's my turn, I draw!" Elijah draws as they watch with bated breaths what he is gonna do. After placing his drawn card in the hand, he raised his arm up. "Now I overlay Artifacts, Scythe, and Moralltach to build the Overlay Network!" You Show widens their eyes from this, not expecting someone to use a Summon Method. If Ricardo, and Aura were anything, they probably should've expected this to happen. What is Elijah gonna summon here?
"Xyz Summon!" Elijah while both Artifacts flew up entering the Overlay Network before it exploded to reveal the monster. "Artifact Durendal!"
From it came a large blue energy person wielding a large sword like Moralltach that's the same shade of blue like the person with a double crest onto the hilt. It readied the blade arming itself against Dan who grunted seeing the strong monster.

Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can activate 1 of these effects.
● When a monster effect is activated on the field OR when a Normal Spell/Trap Card is activated: You can detach 1 material from this card; the activated effect becomes "Destroy 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls".
● You can detach 1 material from this card; each player with a hand shuffles their entire hand into the Deck, then draws the same number of cards they shuffled into the Deck.
(ORU: 2)
'2400... the same attack points as Red-Eyes. What kind of monster is it though, I never had the chance to see what this card can do.'
Dan didn't have long to find out himself as Elijah raised an arm. "I activate Durendal's special ability! By using an Overlay Unit, we both shuffle our hands into the Deck, and draw a new hand!" Dan widens his eyes as Durendal takes an Overlay Unit before both of their hands glowed that forced them to shuffle their hands, and redrew the same number of cards which was four each.
Artifact Durendal: (ORU: 2 - 1)
Dan sees now he has Red-Eyes Insight, Summoned Skull, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, and Lord of the Red. A little better but he still has some cards that are unable to help him make a good move now. Elijah sets 2 cards only next. "Since I can't attack this turn, I set 2 cards to end my turn." An obvious move to make here, but we will see how Dan can manage here this turn with nothing else. Elijah probably has another Artifact on his field ready to use if it gets destroyed. So Dan needs to be careful what he does.
Elijah's Hand: 2/Field: Artifact Durendal (Attack Position/ORU: 1), Artifact Moralltach (Attack Position), Two Set Cards
Dan 2nd Turn:
"My turn then, draw!" Dan draws checking his drawn card. Seeing Silent Doom he checks over his options. A Ritual Monster but has no Ritual Spell to use for it. And he can't summon either monster without the right monster to sacrifice or Tribute Summon without a monster on his field. So his options are the two spells in his hand or the face-down on his field. So he decides on that. "I activate, Red-Eyes Spirit!" A trap showing Red-Eyes Black Dragon rising up from the graveyard flipped on his field.
Red-Eyes Spirit
Normal Trap Card
Target 1 "Red-Eyes" monster in your GY; Special Summon it.
"With this card's effect, I can summon back Red-Eyes from the graveyard!" The graveyard portal appears as Red-Eyes begins to move out of it to prepare for defenses or whatever else Dan wants it to do.
Elijah isn't gonna let that happen however. "I activate Durendal's other effect!" Durendal takes its other Overlay Unit as the trap glows a blue color that surprises Dan. "So now instead of that, your trap instead destroys a Spell or Trap card on my field!" Dan widened his eyes watching as the graveyard portal vanished where the trap blasted an energy blast at Elijah's left face-down. "And that activates the effect of Artifact Failnaught! So now I summon it back from the graveyard!"
A green energy person rose up wielding an Artifact with an energy string connecting it as a bow with the same design, and crest, and cogs like the other Artifacts with the arrow being large with the tip resembling a drill.

"And since I did, I can place Scythe from the graveyard back to my Spell & Trap Zone, and alongside it is the effect of Caduceus allowing me to draw another card!" Elijah spoke starting the Chain Link with 2 effects. Then he added a third before revealing his other face-down. "Alongside that is Artifacts Unleashed!" A spell flipped up showing Artifact Beagalltach and Artifact Moralltach before being taken apart to a new Artifact.
Artifacts Unleashed
Quick-Play Spell Card
Target 2 "Artifact" monsters you control; immediately after this effect resolves, Xyz Summon 1 Xyz Monster using those 2 monsters only, also for the rest of this turn after this card resolves, monsters you control cannot attack, except "Artifact" monsters. If this card in its owner's possession is destroyed by an opponent's card: You can reveal 1 Level 5 LIGHT monster from your hand; draw 1 card.
"So now by targeting 2 Artifacts in my field, I can Xyz Summon again!"
"Xyz Summoning during Dan's turn?" Zuzu widened her eyes as the two Artifacts beside Durendal glowed golden, flying up towards the Overlay Network as they watched in surprise.
"Xyz Summon! Rank 5, Tiras, Keeper of Genesis!"
Raising up onto the field beside Durendal was a large armored angel. He has white skin with the same color as his hair into strands held by bands over his shoulders with yellow feathered wings with white steel armor on his form, and brown leather as gloves, and abdomen area with golden fittings on it with a red sash around the waist. He is also holding a completely silver sword, and a shield that has the sun on it with red flames, and a golden design onto it.

"Tiras..." This Xyz Monster could be trouble... it's a powerful card, and if Elijah has a card like that, this can be even more dangerous then Dan can originally assume. Now Elijah has 2 powerful Xyz Monsters on his field that can make 5000 ATK together against what he can use. But since Durendal is out of Overlay Units, he can't disrupt his hand or change his card effects anymore. But with something like Tiras on the field with it, that doesn't seem minor. After Tiras was summoned, Elijah drew a card, and then placed Scythe in his Spell & Trap Zone to use for later, now ready for what Dan can bring here.
"Now he has 2 on the field..." Aura trailed off seeing this. This Elijah certainly knows what he is doing if he can summon 2 Xyz Monsters on the field at once alongside that he had stopped Dan from summoning back Red-Eyes when he needs it against them. However from the look on Dan's face, he doesn't seem to stump hard quite yet.
Dan checks over before taking Red-Eyes Insight. "Okay I activate Red-Eyes Insight!" A spell which appears to have Red-Eyes Black Dragon roaring on the card while its eyes glowed bright red.
Red-Eyes Insight
Normal Spell Card
Send 1 "Red-Eyes" monster from your hand or Deck to the GY; add 1 "Red-Eyes" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand, except "Red-Eyes Insight". You can only activate 1 "Red-Eyes Insight" per turn.
"I send a Red-Eyes from my hand or Deck to the graveyard to take a Spell or Trap card other than Red-Eyes Insight to my hand from my Deck!" Dan searches his Deck, sending Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon from his Deck to the graveyard before then taking a card adding it. He then reveals the card with a grin. "And I chose to use the card! The Red-Eyes Transmigration, Ritual Spell Card!"
Hearing the kind of spell it is, made everyone's eyes especially Aura's widen in shock from hearing it as the spell appeared in front of Dan which was of someone being enveloped with orange flames.
Red-Eyes Transmigration
Ritual Spell Card
This card is used to Ritual Summon "Lord of the Red". You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field, and/or banish "Red-Eyes" monsters from your GY, whose total Levels equal 8 or more.
"Ritual Spell?" Zuzu cupped her mouth in shock. She had expected quite a bit from Dan's Fusion Deck but to contain Ritual Summoning? She didn't think Dan would use that. He focuses on Burn, and Fusion Summoning alongside having a side focus of Ritual Summoning along with it. That would mean that now, the only summoning method Dan hasn't used yet was Pendulum. If Dan can use all of the summoning methods... he will probably be the best duelist than all of them in no time.
Sora was also shocked at seeing Dan Ritual Summoning. It was a summon method that his home also had, in fact, he only knows 1 person within his home that can Ritual Summon. She was amazing, and she uses Ritual Summoning like a pro where it became her preferred method instead of Fusion Summoning. But when she betrayed them she abolished it, and used anti-Fusion cards against them... despite his admiration towards her, he won't let her betrayal slide. Deal with traitors like how they should be dealt with.
Aura was staring ahead holding her crystal apple close before she smiled brightly. Finally! There is someone else not from LID, that can use Ritual! She thought she was the only one who can Ritual Summon outside of LID but now she's glad that is no longer the case as Dan, someone from You Show can use it as well. From how it was treated, and from how people abandon it, she figured her chances of being with someone else who can use it will be pretty low. Maybe Aura can spend some time with Dan to get to know him better, and why he uses it as well.
Shay, himself watching nearby, his eyes were also widened but for a different reason. He was shocked that Dan can Ritual Summon, but that makes him even more suspicious, and angry. The strongest Duelist in his home can Ritual Summon as well, and if this spy somehow learned it as well, then this could mean the enemy is getting stronger as well. He will not let his spy carry on his mission longer, if he gets a moment with him, he will personally seal him into a card like the rest of the cowards should be.
"By sacrificing monsters who's Levels are 7 or more, I can summon a Ritual Monster from my hand!" Dan reveals Darkness Metal Dragon's card. "For example, I sacrifice the Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon in my hand to summon this next card!" A large dragon appeared before it was sacrificed on an altar.
"Lord of the Flames! Within this contract signed onto you, I summon you to bring forth salvation for all those who need your protection! Ritual Summon! Lord of the Red!"
Raising up onto the field was a humanoid like draconic man. He is wearing black/blue plated armor with the design of a dragon on it alongside a helmet of a dragon's head on it with red eyes, and a spike on it. His wings are also armored, and looked like blades alongside a long tail that looks to be alive with a spear tip on him.

"Whoa, that guy's awesome looking!" Tate's eyes widen in admiration from the way Lord of the Red looks feeling giddy at seeing this. He's always been a fan of Dungeons and Dragons, and seeing a knight in dragon-like armor while itself is a dragon really makes him excited seeing it. Although its ATK is nowhere near Durendal's or Tiras' it is still quite a niche monster against them.
Dan ran grabbing an Action Card. Seeing what it was Over Sword he nodded, and then took Silent Doom. "Next, I use the Spell, Silent Doom!" Which was a spell showing a hand gathering energy from the graveyard.
Silent Doom
Normal Spell Card
Target 1 Normal Monster in your GY; Special Summon it in Defense Position, but it cannot attack.
"In exchange for it not attacking or going to Defense Position, I summon back Red-Eyes from the graveyard!" The graveyard portal opened again. But Dan has another plan ahead gesturing over. "That activates the effect of Lord of the Red! When an effect other than itself activates, I can destroy a Spell or Trap Card on the field!"
"Huh, wouldn't that trigger that guy's effect?" Yuya meant the card that Elijah placed on his field which was Artifact Scythe that can lockdown Dan's Extra Deck if it's summoned during his turn. Durendal is out of Overlay Units so he can't rewrite the effect, but isn't this kind of effect what Elijah wants to happen?
"Yeah... Dan wouldn't use it unless he is sure, he wouldn't summon a Fusion Monster." As Sora spoke this Lord of the Red charged a blue fireball blasting it over that destroyed Elijah's face-down that popped up to reveal Artifact Scythe on the field. At the same time Red-Eyes was also summoned to the field in defense from Silent Doom's effect.
Artifact Scythe: (Defense Position)
Red-Eyes Black Dragon: (Defense Position/Cannot attack)
"You might've locked me from the Extra Deck but if it's Ritual Summoning, then I'm all good!" Dan spoke over at Elijah on Artifact Scythe's weak point, that Dan had other options then Fusion Summoning. Due to Ritual's inherent gimmick of having the monster in the hand, Scythe can't stop it from being summoned even if the effect was triggered before Dan summoned Lord of the Red. "And as Scythe's effect activates, I can activate Lord of the Red's OTHER ability! When an effect other than itself activates, it can destroy a monster on the field!" Lord of the Red charges another blue fireball in its hand aiming towards Artifact Scythe before blasting it that destroyed Scythe. He would target either of his Xyz Monsters but Tiras' can't be destroyed by effects, and he needs to deal some damage that Scythe is blocking. "And next I can do another summon method that Scythe can't block!"
"Huh?" While Elijah is confused, Red-Eyes roared as it was lowered down to the graveyard again.
"That is Tribute Summoning! And by sacrificing Red-Eyes, I can summon, Summoned Skull!" Dan placed the card down as raising was a large muscular fiend like monster. It has claws as fingers with large purple wings with bone armor, and two horns on both sides of its skull with purple flesh under the bones. Alongside bone feet with claws on them.

"Even with all those methods he still Tribute Summons..." Well, Tribute Summoning makes its way into dueling now, and then, and while some people don't use it as much, it does slip it for duelists to have a chance. And from what Yuya can see here, Dan has no problem with it as well as since it can't attack Red-Eyes was just sitting there doing nothing other than defending. Plus a monster as strong as Summoned Skull summoned like that? Yeah, he'd take that.
"And now Summoned Skull attacks Artifact Durendal!" Summoned Skull charged up a lot of lightning blasting over towards Durendal. While it does so Dan activates the Action Card he grabbed. "Now I activate, Over Sword!" It shows a cartoonish, colorful sword shining.
Over Sword

"Summoned Skull gains 500 points, and it's attack can't be negated now!"
Summoned Skull: (ATK: 2500 + 500 = 3000/Attack can't be negated)
Summoned Skull's attack managed to strike Durendal which destroyed it as Elijah stepped back. (Elijah: 3500/Hand: 2) Dan then ran grabbing another Action Card which he sees it's Miracle. He frowned from this, he had wanted a card to power up Lord of the Red but not an option here. Going to Main Phase 2, he sets Miracle before moving, and takes another Action Card which he sees is High Dive. Would've been nice if he had this card earlier... Dan turned over towards Elijah before then speaking. "I end my turn here." One Day of Peace's effect is gone now so Elijah can deal damage again so Dan needs to be careful.

Elijah 3rd Turn:
"Well, not bad young man. I can still go though, draw!" Elijah draws checking to see what he had drawn. Then he shows the card he drew. "I activate Artifact Ignition!" A spell that shows off the crest of the Artifacts appeared on the field.
Artifact Ignition

If this card in its owner's possession is destroyed by an opponent's card: Your opponent skips their next Battle Phase.
"With an Artifact in my Deck, I can destroy a Spell or Trap on the field to set an Artifact from my Deck!" Elijah explains the card's effect as stones dropped down destroying Dan's Miracle that he grunted over. "Then I place an Artifact on my field face-down in my Spell & Trap Zone as a Spell!" He takes his selected card, setting the card. "Artifact Mjollnir!" A monster of a somewhat white spirit appeared wielding a hammer before being placed face-down. Another one? How much more does this guy have? "Battle!" After setting a card Elijah pointed over. "Tiras attacks Lord of the Red!" Tiras readied his silver blade charging over towards the Ritual Monster.
"I activate High Dive!" Dan quickly uses the Action Card he had grabbed.
High Dive
Action Spell Card
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; that target gains 1000 ATK until the end of this turn.
"Thanks to this Lord of the Red gains 1000 points during battle! And since an effect was activated other than Lord of the Red's, I activated its special ability to destroy that face-down you placed on your field other than the Artifact!" Thinking it's a card to summon another Artifact, Dan believes he needs to get rid of it as fast as he can as Lord of the Red charges a blue fireball blasting over towards Elijah's face-down which was a trap card.
Lord of the Red: (ATK: 2400 + 1000 = 3400)
However that was a trap as Elijah called over. "I activate the effect of the Artifact Sanctum that you destroyed!" Dan widens his eyes hearing that. Elijah still has cards that are used whenever they are destroyed? What kind of Deck is the Artifacts if they can use their Spell and Traps when they are destroyed. Then again that ties in with its theme of punishing the opponent when they destroy the Set cards as destruction effects are getting way too much for others. "Since it was destroyed by your card effect, I destroy Lord of the Red!" Dan widened his eyes as a light storm enveloped Lord of the Red as it roared over, destroyed in a light show. "And as Lord of the Red is gone, it's a replay so I change the attack to Summoned Skull!" Tiras moved in slashing away at Summoned Skull who roared loud shattering as Dan raised an arm. The damage wasn't much but it was a big one. (Dan: 3900/Hand: 0)
"Just like that, he eliminated both of Dan's monsters."
"And he had been expecting Dan to destroy his cards."
Zuzu, and Yuya spoke about this while they watched. The Artifacts are certainly a tricky bunch as they can use the opponent's destructive methods to their advantage against them this way. If the monsters but also Spells & Traps can gain benefits from being destroyed by the opponent, it would be bad for anyone they battle against. Especially if they force the opponents to destroy their cards in this way. And with Lord of the Red gone, Dan will have a lot of trouble against what Elijah can do before he can use it.
"I place 1 card face-down, and end my turn." Elijah doesn't have much else other than setting a card. "And during this End Phase, I use an Overlay Unit from Tiras." As Tiras used an Overlay Unit, its other effect went off but as Dan doesn't have a card on the field, he doesn't need it right now.

Dan 3rd Turn:
"My turn now, I draw!" While he draws Dan goes over his options. The biggest threat he has to deal with are Tiras, and his set cards. He doesn't know what Elijah is up to, and that's the scary part. His Set card can give Dan some downsides or it can be used to his advantage. So he needs to approach this carefully. Taking a look at his drawn card, Dan widens his eyes. His luck isn't out yet. Taking the card he places on the field. "I activate Red-Eyes Fusion!"
Red-Eyes Fusion
Normal Spell Card
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster that lists a "Red-Eyes" monster as material from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand, Deck, or field as Fusion Materials, and if you do, its name becomes "Red-Eyes Black Dragon". You cannot Normal or Special Summon other monsters the turn you activate this card. You can only activate 1 "Red-Eyes Fusion" per turn.
"I Fusion Summon using monsters from my hand, Deck, or field, and it becomes Red-Eyes until the end of the turn! However, I can't summon another for the rest of the turn!"
Shay's eyes widened again in fury hearing this. He knew it! He just fucking knew it, this kid was a spy to the Fusion Dimension pretending to be an Xyz Dimension Duelist! And on the fact that he also Ritual Summons further proves his point, that he must've stolen it from the strongest Xyz Duelist of his home! When he finds him alone, he will seal this kid into a card personally!
"I fuse another Red-Eyes Black Dragon with a second Summoned Skull in my Deck!" From Dan's call the two monsters rose up fusing together into one.
"Dragon with Gleaming Red Eyes! Join together with the fiend to protect the other worlds! Fusion Summon! Level 9, Archfiend Black Skull Dragon!"
Materializing from the ace of his Fusion Deck, Archfiend Black Skull Dragon. It roared loud on the field ready above Dan as it flames on over itself against Tiras.

You can only Special Summon "Archfiend Black Skull Dragon(s)" once per turn. If this card battles, your opponent's cards and effects cannot be activated until the end of the Damage Step. If damage calculation is performed involving this Fusion Summoned card, at the end of the Battle Phase: You can target 1 "Red-Eyes" Normal Monster in your Graveyard; inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK in the Graveyard, then shuffle it into the Deck.
"So he really can Fusion Summon..." Nico cupped his chin seeing this. Now that Dan has proven he can Fusion Summon he is giving thought if he is perhaps representing a new hopeful duelist who's dueling abilities can rival then that of the Leo Institute as he can do almost all of the summoning methods with Pendulum being the only one he doesn't have, or use now. If Dan can rival Yuya against this, then well... that will be a match he is willing to pay 59.99 for.
"And now Archfiend Black Skull Dragon attacks Tiras, Keeper of Genesis!" Archfiend Black Skull Dragon charges an attack over at Tiras as Dan runs, taking an Action Card. Elijah also moved, grabbing one himself. Before he can use it Dan however called. "When Archfiend Black Skull Dragon battles, you can't use cards or effects!"
"What?" Elijah looked up as the large dragon fired a large blast at Tiras. Unable to stop it, Tiras yelled as it was destroyed from the attack. (Elijah: 2900/Hand: 1) But Dan added over. "I activate the Action Spell, Burning Barrel!" An Action Spell of a flaming barrel appeared which it then shot down towards Elijah. "When a monster on your field is destroyed in battle, you take damage equal to half of that monster's attack points!" Elijah watches as the barrel struck him hard. (Elijah: 1600/Hand: 1) Dan then raised an arm. "And lastly, I activate Archfiend Black Skull Dragon's ability! At the end of the Battle, I can shuffle back Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon from my graveyard to my Deck as it was treated as a Normal Monster, to deal you damage equal to its attack points! 2400!"
After shuffling the card Archfiend Black Skull Dragon charged up a large flaming blast as Elijah raised up his head surprised from this. Effect damage like this? He has no contingency for effect damage, and had used effects to prevent him from using cards during battles... the kind of thing Action Duels use against opponents. If this thing can shut down Action Cards, then it's no wonder why Dan didn't use it earlier, to strike an uninterrupted final blow. His face-down is Xyz Reborn so he's unable to stop the monster from dealing damage.
Archfiend Black Skull Dragon blasted hard at Elijah who stares before he smiled over.

Dan wins!
(Dan Kizami: 5 wins)
"Owned the zone, yeah!" Dan grinned his catchphrase over from this as the Action Field vanished.
That makes five wins, and if Dan succeeds in this next match he will qualify for the Arc-League Championship. Although from what they are seeing a lot, they know he will have no trouble doing that. If he can do all of this, and lots of things, they feel kind of sorry for the person who he will be up against next. Especially as Dan barely took any damage the last few times like now. They wonder if ANYTHING can defeat Dan with all the things he has with Galaxy-Eyes, and the Hieratics, the Red Dragon Archfiend Synchros, and now the Red-Eyes that can Fusion, and Ritual Summon to destroy multiple cards, and deal lots of damage.
"Well Dan, you continue to impress me." Said boy turned to Nico who walked over with the others. Nico voiced over towards Dan with a slight frown "Although unfortunately, trying to find an opponent at this point will be difficult. The date for the Arc-League is getting close after all so you might not manage to have a sixth duel to compete in time. While I had found a match for Yuya, you will be a difficult case at this point."
"Can't he have a duel with us to compete?" Frederick spoke if they can manage with a You Show Duelist.
"It's not a bad idea but it has to be a Duel School not yours to be an official duel." Nico explained that a School Duel between students won't count. It has to be official by being another Duel School that isn't You Show. "And sadly, there are lots of Duel Schools that don't have openings right now, as they can't take a last minute duel for an applicant. It would be a miracle if an opening would pop up now."
"So that means Dan will miss his chance?" Yuya asked shocked that despite all of what Dan can do, he might end up missing the Arc-League.
"High chance of that." Nico confirmed which didn't ease their minds.
"Well... I am willing to take that chance. If I don't compete, I will just accept that I did my best." Dan spoke over not minding if he missed his chance to compete if he doesn't get a sixth duel to win. After all he duels only for fun, and if he doesn't compete he doesn't mind about it, he's a good sore loser, and all. Alongside that, even if he doesn't compete he can still do what he can if something happens in this world for him to try to stop alongside Yuya, and the others so nothing will change if he doesn't compete or not. "Besides, I only duel for fun, so it doesn't really matter to me if I don't compete."
"You really don't care?"
"No, if I duel just to win, and not care about having fun, then it's just not worth it." Dan answered towards Sora. "It would suck, but I know I done my absolute best, and that's all that matters to me."
"Well thank you for having the chance to come here. We wish you luck for the Arc-League." the elder man smiled over to them as they all smiled back, and with a wave exited out of the Duel School.
When they begin to exit, Shay moves out of the dirt path, and exits where he sees everyone leaving together while the sun sets. He stares at Dan with murder in his eyes. Now he has evidence that Dan is a Fusion Spy having been suspicious that he had used Xyz like a master, used Galaxy-Eyes, Ritual, and now Fusion Summoning. So now he will watch over them, and then destroy Dan by making him a card when he gets a chance to be alone. Trying to attack at this point would be risky.
"Yeah, I'll be back."
After speaking of this to Yuya, and the others back at Yuya's house, Dan went out by himself walking outside while it's night. When he arrived back at the Sakaki House, he started getting his Deck ready for this last match. He had decided over his Xyz Deck that he had found in his room, and started mixing it with the Hieratic Deck. It took a while since there were a lot of mishmash or awkward cards to include or use but while working a bit, Dan managed to construct a new Deck with it. It isn't perfect, and should get some practice but it looks promising, and right now he wants to clear his head to think what else can work with it.
He is walking down an alleyway while he thinks this staring at the Deck he had finished preparing. So now prepare his final duel if he can get one, or the Arc-League he needs to use to test it out. But who exactly can he test it out on? Like Nico said, there are barely gonna be any duel schools who can accept an applicant to apply for the Arc-League this late. Still he should get some practice somehow, maybe against Sora or perhaps Yu-
"There you are!"
Startled Dan yelped, turning around seeing someone at the end of the alleyway. Removing his mask it was Shay glaring deep at Dan. "It's time to make you pay!"
"Pay? Who are you?"
"Shay Obsidian, and I that will be the last name you will hear as you will hear the rage of the Xyz Dimension among you!" Shay promised over towards him activating his Duel Disk. An act that Dan stepped back startled from this. "You might've fooled everyone else, but I am not so easily fooled! You are no comrade, or friend of mine, only an enemy! An enemy who will get destroyed by the rage of all of those you've hurt!"
"What are you talking about? I don't know what you're saying."
"Liar!" Shay shouted that Dan flinched from this. "You say that so shamelessly after I see the underhanded tactics you've done? Attempting to disguise yourself as an Xyz Duelist, and stealing Galaxy-Eyes? You are so shameless!"
Stealing Galaxy-Eyes? Disguise as an Xyz Duelist? What is this guy talking about? He gained Galaxy-Eyes from a booster pack like everything else (well whatever is making new cards appear also had a hand in it, but he never stole anything! He'd had to be crazy to do that. Although, it doesn't look like this guy can take a hint. And judging from how this is going, he can't exactly convince Shay to say what he is saying is false as he doesn't know what he means. On top of that, he looks to be eager to duel, and Dan has his new combo Deck to use. He wanted a practice opponent but... not like this!
Still what can he do at this point? He can try running but that won't work from how he looks to be. So Dan doesn't have another choice as he stares at Shay grunting. "Okay then." He inserts his recently completed Deck into it, and then speaks to him. "If you want a battle, you've got one. And I won't be holding back against you."
"You'd insult me if you do." Shay is glad that he isn't running despite his age. Now his chance to get answers, and then punish him how he sees fit. They ready their Duel Disks for a Master Duel against each other.
"DUEL!"
Not only does Dan now have five wins on his belt, he also has an old Deck he lost back. Unfortunately that Deck will be tested against Shay who finally decided to do something about his suspicions here. Shay is a really powerful Duelist with the power of Astral Force as well. Dan had combined his Hieratic Deck with the bad Galaxy-Eyes Deck he has now, so maybe the outcome will be different then the original story? I don't know, as no matter the outcome it doesn't change things.
Maybe we can even see Shay use a card he has now that makes him even stronger then ever. Perhaps we can, or we can see the kind of power Dan still has here in a different matter. As Hieratics were pushed back a lot unintentionally on my part, I figure to better bring it here while not ignoring the Galaxy-Eyes Deck he has would be to combine the two together. I haven't had a chance to try that combo yet though it probably be a mess on my part. As always be sure to ask questions, and be sure to review!
