Chapter 4
The pain woke him back up from his relatively peaceful nap, and now the sand under his claws gone, replaced with the icy material that made up the Blizzard Palace. Oh no...
Snowblade groaned, he'd just go back to his room in the basement and silently suffer down there, and from context, he guessed that he was in the throne room, sleeping until woken up and speaking with Queen Narwhal and King Tundra.
"Look," he grogged, getting up to his talons. "I don't have time for this, have a good night, Queen Narwhal." He managed to find his way to the exit without even needing to open his eyes.
"Who's Queen Narwhal?" a voice on the younger side asked.
Snowblade walked into a wall that wasn't supposed to be there.
"How did you install an entire wall while I was sleeping?" Snowblade asked, opening his eyes to reveal that sure enough, he'd found himself at a wall.
"Answer my question strange dragon," the young voice demanded.
"Quite some audacity coming from a dragonet, do you have any idea who you're talking to?" Snowblade asked, turning around to see a group of PearlWings staring at him like he was from a different world.
"I am Queen Snowfall of the IceWings, now, who is Queen Narwhal?" the supposed IceWing queen asked him again.
"I have got to be hallucinating or something... what was in that seal I ate yesterday?" Snowblade asked himself, removing his head and lightly hitting the top of his noggin to make sure that he wasn't actually hallucinating like his brain wanted him to believe and receiving shocked gasps and hushed whispering from all the dragons around him as he put his head back onto his neck.
"On second thought; who are you?" Snowfall asked.
"You dragons are the figments of my lonely imagination, how about you take a wild guess?" Snowblade told her, still trying to find the new exit.
For some weird reason, the exit was to the left of the throne now, so Snowblade walked over there instead.
Guards blocked Snowblade's way, he'd be forced to answer the IceWing. "My most sincerest apologies Queen... Snowfall of the IceWings, my name is Prince Snowblade of the BlizzardWings, it is an absolute honor to meet you," he said, bowing low to Snowfall.
Snowfall sighed with something that sounded like anger. "Let me guess, you come from a third continent with two other tribes and there's some kind of fifty-year-old war between your tribes?" Snowfall asked.
"...Third continent, six other tribes and a ten-year-old fake war because The Council deemed it so," Snowblade corrected her. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'd like to go to bed now and wake up to dragons that aren't just imaginative."
"First of all; we are not just your imagination as you so clearly believe, and you're only like double my size... so you'd be around twelve, so who are you calling a dragonet?" Snowfall asked Snowblade, which triggered an enormous laugh from the BlizzardWing.
"HA! TWELVE! COULD YOU IMAGINE?! No... I'd wager that I'm older than every dragon in this kingdom combined," Snowblade told Snowfall.
"Really? How old are you then?" Snowfall asked.
"...Three thousand.. Two hundred and thirty-seven, do you still want to challenge your elders?" Snowblade asked.
Snowfall sighed. "What are those dark spots on your scales?" she asked.
Snowblade looked down at his body; he was still covered in burn marks from the lava. "Oh, don't worry about it. Just a typical day of me being thrown into lava because The Council wants me dead," he explained.
Snowfall looked to be taken aback by Snowblade saying that he was thrown into lava. "Visit of fire and ice..." she breathed.
"Pardon?" Snowblade cleared his throat, trying to get Snowfall to repeat what she just said.
"Er... A NightWing that I know has had a prophecy about a strange dragon of fire and ice would visit Pyrrhia, could that be you?" she asked.
"I suppose that it's possible. I don't know a single dragon who knows of these continents," Snowblade said.
Snowfall called a servant forward for a map of Pyrrhia, and when the servant arrived; she thanked him and showed it to Snowblade.
"Last that I heard, there is a dragon named Moon here," she pointed to a spot on the map that was labeled as Jade Mountain. "And we are up here." She pointed to the Ice Kingdom.
"So... Just to get this straight; you want me to fly across the entire continent just because a FlareWing somehow had a prophecy?" Snowblade asked.
Snowfall shook her head. "No. She's a NightWing," she corrected him.
"Oh, sorry, but you still want me to fly to fly across the continent because a NightWing had a prophecy?" Snowblade corrected his question.
"I'm sure that she'd very much appreciate it," Snowfall assured him.
"Fine... I'll help sort out her prophecy, and then I'm going home," Snowblade said.
Snowblade dragged himself out of the throne room and took flight south. South to Jade Mountain, south to a dragon who would most likely resemble the FlareWings.
Author's Note: Miss me?
Sorry that Snowblade and I were gone for so long, I was working on another project, don't worry, I'm still going to be working on it, it's just gonna slow down the release of new chapters for each story :/
It seems that Snowblade is going to Jade Mountain to meet Moon, how is that gonna play out? Find out in the next chapter!
