A true gentleman!

Maxwell wakes up and stretches his body in comfort. He slept splendidly and feels refreshed and well rest. He also feels a deep inner satisfaction within himself. His gaze turns to his side to his newlywed wife. Fran is still fast asleep, her face buried into the pillows. He leans over to her and gently strokes her cheek. At that moment she seems like an angel to him. Fran grumbles something in her sleep and turns growling over onto her other side.

Maxwell decides to let her get some more rest. He gets up and goes to the small refrigerator in their cabin and pours himself a glass of water. He opens the sliding door to the balcony. He breathes in the fresh, cool air and watches the sun slowly rising on the horizon. He knows it won't be long before they reach land.

He senses a tingling excitement in his belly when he thinks about the next few weeks: no theatre, no work, no troubles with the kids! Just him and Fran and lots of time just the two of them. His gaze wanders from his wedding band through the window to the bed and to his sleeping darling. He feels an indescribable happiness inside him. Now, looking back at the last five years, he doesn't understand anymore why he hesitated for so long to take this step. His heart tells him clearly marrying Fran was the right decision. They would have a wonderful life together.

Maxwell had only felt this happiness and security once before in his life. Back then when he married Sara. Ever since she appeared to him the night before the wedding and he got the knowledge that Sara was happy for him and Fran and that it was ultimately her will that he and Fran would find each other, the last remaining doubts in his mind dissappeared. He now simply looks forward to a long, happy life with her.

Maxwell leaves the balcony and goes back into their cabin and sneaks quietly out the door. Next to the bedroom cabin is another cabin that serves as a living room. Maxwell sits down on the couch and picks up the phone. First, he calls the yacht's galley and orders a romantic breakfast and arranges for everything to be placed in front of the cabin door.

Then he dials the number from the Sheffield residence. Niles answers. He reacts surprised at first but also very happy to hear from his boss. It doesn't go unnoticed by Maxwell that Niles seems pretty smashed and suffers from a hangover. When he wants to know if everything is OK at home, Niles mentions everyone else is still asleep except for Sylvia, who is eagerly waiting for her breakfast. He himself could not sleep any longer because he had a strange nightmare about Santa Claus and a bell. Maxwell cannot make a sense of what Niles is saying.

Niles, on the other hand, asks him how he and Fran spent the first night of their honeymoon. Maxwell answers with a smug grin on his face that it was a wonderful night. Niles can't help but make a sarcastic remark.

"Just wonderful Sir?! I honestly expected a little bit more!"

"Niles! Even if you are my butler, my best friend and my best man...that's none of your business! You know a true gentleman never tells!"

To distract Niles from this topic, Maxwell mentions that they will as planned reach the first destination of their trip this afternoon. He asks Niles to give the children a hug and to assure Sylvia that everything is fine. At the end he promises to call again soon. After he hanged up, he returns to the bedroom cabin, where Fran is still lies in bed and is just about to open her eyes.
