Children of the Triforce: Retold

Chapter 11 – The Family Secret

Over the next few days, Kyla began a deep dive into researching the golden triangle from her dreams. She had seen its likeness before, placed on walls and banners around the castle as some sort of holy symbol of Hyrule, but she had never taken much notice of it until now. To a young girl who was constantly sick, it had been rather unremarkable.

Now, however, her attitude had completely changed. After seeing the powerful golden light that it gave off, Kyla realized that it must be more than just a holy symbol. It was surely something that truly existed. Something that she could actually get her tiny hands on. But first, she would need to learn more about it. Find out exactly what it was and where it was located.

And so, she borrowed a few tomes from the castle's library and began her research on the topic. Fortunately, Kyla had always been a bright child, so she had no trouble scouring the endless pages for the information she needed. Even if most of the books were long and dull.

At one point during her study session, Link ended up coming to her door and giving a polite knock. "Hey Kyla. If you want, I can take you outside and help you practice riding a horse again."

Kyla was currently laying on her bed with a book, and she barely glanced up as she responded to her father. "I'm not interested today."

Link blinked in surprise. He imagined that she might still be a bit hesitant to ride after her last experience, but he hadn't expected such a casual dismissal. It was strange. She didn't appear to be afraid, but rather distracted.

"What are you doing?" he asked, stepping into the room.

Kyla sighed. She didn't really care to be disturbed right now. "I'm reading."

"Oh? Anything exciting?"

"No, it's kind of boring," she admitted. "I'm just trying to figure something out."

Link smiled as he sat down on the bed next to her. "Anything that I can help with?"

Kyla shook her head. "I don't think so, daddy."

"You sure? I know that I'm not as book smart as your mother or sister, but I'm not completely clueless."

Kyla frowned a bit before sighing again. She didn't particularly care for her father's help, but she had to admit that she wasn't really getting anywhere on her own. Besides, she knew that she wouldn't be able to focus as long as he was around. She bookmarked the page she was on before closing the tome. She then pointed to the bright golden triangle that was imprinted on the book's cover.

"What do you know about this?" she asked.

Link just blinked as his eyes suddenly went wide. "The Triforce?" He turned to his daughter. "You're studying the Triforce?"

Kyla blinked back. She had never heard that name before. "What's the Triforce?"

Link closed his mouth, suddenly feeling hesitant to reveal such information. "Well, it's kind of a family secret."

"It is?" Kyla asked. "Why didn't I know about it?"

"Well, that's what makes it a secret, sweetie."

"But you said it's for family," she pointed out. "I'm family, aren't I?"

Link sighed. "Well, yes, but you might be a little too young to learn about this sort of thing."

Kyla frowned, pouting a bit. "Daddy, I'm already ten years old!"

"I know…"

"Do Cecil and Kirstin know about this?"

Link shook his head. "No, your mother and I have never told any of you kids about it."

Kyla frowned some more. She didn't like that her father was withholding information like this. "Why not? We have a right to know, don't we?"

Link sighed again. He always hated when his youngest child asked difficult questions like this. "It's complicated, Kyla. The Triforce isn't something that should be spoken about lightly."

"But I want to know!" the girl insisted.

Link eyed her for a second. He soon glanced back down at the tome in her hands. "Why were you researching this in the first place?"

Kyla shrunk back a bit. She hadn't told her parents about her dream the other night. She figured that if she did, they would just try to convince her that she was imagining things. That the golden triangle wasn't real or didn't hold any special power within. But Kyla knew the truth. She wouldn't be easily dissuaded.

"No reason," she mumbled back.

Link eyed her skeptically. He could tell that she was hiding something. "Kyla, come on. I want you to be honest with me. How did you find out about the Triforce in the first place?"

Kyla sighed. She should've known that her father would press her for an answer. He was just trying to control her like he always did. Unable to come up with any suitable excuses, Kyla decided to reveal the truth. Or a part of it, at least.

"I saw it in a dream," she admitted. "I was in a dark place when it appeared above me and started shining this beautiful golden light everywhere. I recognized it from the symbols around the castle, so I got curious and wanted to try and figure out what it was."

Link gave his daughter a surprised look. "You dreamed about this?" Kyla slowly nodded, and Link glanced down at the book again. He had never told any of his children about the Triforce, and now his youngest was claiming to have seen it in her sleep. He knew that this couldn't be a mere coincidence. He figured that this dream had to mean something, but he wasn't sure what.

"Is something wrong, daddy?" Kyla asked, staring at her father with curious eyes.

Link snapped out of his trance and soon gave his daughter a small smile. "No, nothing is wrong. I just thought that your dream sounded kind of interesting."

Kyla nodded a bit before urging him to continue. "So…can you tell me what the Triforce is now? I want to know more."

Link bit his lip, looking a little nervous. "Er…I'm sorry, sweetie, but I don't know if that's such a good idea. You might still be too young."

Kyla scoffed. This wasn't the answer that she had been hoping for. "Then when will I be old enough?" she demanded.

"I don't know, Kyla. I think that your mother and I will need to discuss it before we start telling you kids anything more." Link then paused before reaching over and picking up the tome that was sitting in his daughter's lap. "In the meantime, it's probably better if you stop reading about this. I don't think that it's a good idea to learn more than you need to."

Kyla's eyes went wide, and she was quick to protest. "But daddy-!"

"I know," he said, quickly cutting her off with a look of sympathy. "Just like your mother, I'm sure that you're curious and you want to learn more about your dream. However, your mother and I will need to make sure that you're ready before we start sharing the secrets of the Triforce with you."

Kyla gawked at him before turning away and pouting once again, this time crossing her arms. She hated how much control her parents had over her life. Even when she just wanted to stay in bed and do a little research, they still found the need to interfere.

Link smiled a bit, understanding her disappointment. "Look, I'll talk to your mother about it tonight, all right?"

"Fine," she said, refusing to look at him.

Link playfully brushed some of her hair back behind her ear. "In the meantime, we still have the horses. Do you want to try riding again?"

Kyla shook her head. "No thanks. I'd rather take a nap."

"Are you feeling tired?"

"Yeah."

Link smiled some more before nodding. "I understand. I'll let you sleep then." He soon got up from her bed, taking the tome with him.

Kyla just watched him leave before sighing and resting her head on a pillow. She wasn't really tired, but she didn't care to leave her bed either. All she wanted to do was lay here and keep thinking about the golden triangle known as the Triforce. She wondered what it was. What mysteries it held within its three shining pieces. She wondered why her parents wanted to keep it a secret.

Maybe it really is powerful, she thought as she closed her eyes. Powerful enough to save me…

That night, Link kept his word and told Zelda about what he had discovered earlier that day.

"Kyla had a dream about the Triforce."

Zelda, who was in the middle of brushing her hair, soon stopped and turned around to face him. "What?"

"She had a dream about the Triforce," he repeated. "Just a few days ago."

Zelda frowned a bit as she looked to the floor. "Oh…I see."

"She didn't even know what it was, so she started doing some research." Link showed Zelda the book that he had taken from Kyla earlier. "She was looking in here, but then she started asking me about it."

Zelda sighed as she took the book into her hands. "That girl is too curious for her own good, although I suppose she can't be blamed for that, considering I'm her mother. What did you end up telling her?"

"Nothing," Link said with a shrug. "I told her that it was a secret and that you and I would need to discuss it before telling her anything."

Zelda silently nodded. When she and Link started having children, they had both agreed not to tell them anything about the Triforce that was secretly housed within the castle. Part of the reason for this was so that the Triforce's location and power would continue to be kept hidden, as the less people that knew about it, the safer it would be. The other reason was so that their children wouldn't be tempted to go searching for it and potentially use its power. It wasn't that they didn't trust their children, of course, but they both knew that anyone could be tempted by power. The Triforce was a dangerous tool should it ever find its way into the wrong hands, and they both figured that it was better not to take the risk.

However, it seemed like that long-held secret might have finally reached its end. Link and Zelda both knew that they couldn't hide the truth forever, but it was still a bit difficult to come to terms with the idea of finally discussing it with their kids.

With a small sigh, Zelda walked over and sat down on their bed. Link soon sat next to her. "What happened in Kyla's dream?" she asked.

"She said that she was in a dark place, but then a golden triangle appeared over her and shined its light everywhere. She said that it looked exactly like the Triforce."

Zelda nodded some more. "I've had dreams like that before too."

Link eyed his wife for a second. "Zelda, do you think that this dream could possibly have been a premonition? Kyla is a Princess of Hyrule, after all."

"It's possible," Zelda replied, carefully mulling it over in her thoughts. The Princesses of Hyrule had always been prone to receiving premonitions, regardless of age.

"If it is, what do you suppose it means?" Link asked.

Zelda shook her head. "I don't know. It didn't sound like the dream was clear enough to give her any kind of message, or any kind of warning for that matter."

"But it must mean something, right?" Link pressed her. "I mean, Kyla doesn't even know what the Triforce is, and yet it's showing up in her dreams. If that isn't a sign, then I don't know what is."

"Yes, you're not wrong," Zelda replied, still trying to think it through. "But unfortunately, I have no way of discerning what it could mean without more information. If anyone could potentially decipher it, it would have to be Kyla herself, but I imagine that she's too young to do such a thing."

"Maybe that's why she's so eager to learn more," Link suggested. "She even told me that she would rather read instead of riding horses today."

Zelda couldn't help but smile. "She said that? She must be more of a bookworm than I thought. If she's not careful, she'll end up being as bad as her sister."

"Or her mother," Link pointed out with a laugh.

Zelda gave her husband a playful scowl, as well as a gentle shove on the arm. She soon laughed as well.

Link just smiled before glancing down at the tome again. "So what should we do? Should we tell Kyla about the Triforce?"

Zelda hesitated to give an answer. "Hmm…I don't know. She's still kind of young."

"She's not that young anymore," Link countered. "You know, she's around the same age that you and I were when we first went on an adventure and defeated Ganon."

Zelda smiled, the memories of her youth coming back to her. Sometimes, she still found it hard to believe that the two of them had only been twelve years old when they first gathered the Triforce pieces of Wisdom and Power. "You have a point there," she admitted.

"We should also consider telling Cecil and Kristin," Link continued. "They're teenagers now, and if Kyla is going to learn about the Triforce, then they have a right to know as well."

Zelda frowned a bit. "I see what you mean…but do you really think that they're ready for it?"

Link smiled. "I think so. They're our kids after all. They can be trusted with the family secret."

Zelda smiled back before giving a nod. "Very well, let's fill them in then. Our family has been entrusted with protecting the Triforce, so it's only right that they learn what it is and why it is so important."

Link nodded before leaning over and kissing his wife. "Then it's settled. Let's tell them tomorrow."

The next day, Link and Zelda gathered their children in the family den. Once everyone was settled in, Link made sure to close the doors so that no guards or servants would overhear their conversation. Many people within Hyrule knew of the Triforce's existence, but very few knew the finer details of what exactly it was and how it worked. And Link and Zelda intended to keep it that way, only sharing the information with their closest family.

Cecil and Kristin seemed a bit confused by this sudden meeting, but Kyla appeared excited. She had a feeling that she knew what this was all about.

"Your mother and I have called you here to share an important family secret," Link explained as he glanced around at his three children. "What we are about to tell you can be considered very dangerous information if placed in the wrong hands, so we want each of you to promise that you will not discuss this matter with anyone outside of our family."

The three kids all nodded and promised. They could tell that this discussion was very serious.

Zelda soon stepped forward and spoke up, using a clear, majestic tone. "This secret goes back thousands of years in our family history. It even goes back as far as the creation of Hyrule itself. Tell me, what do you know of the original creation?"

Kristin quickly raised a hand, as if she were a polite student. "The three Goddesses, Din, Nayru, and Farore created Hyrule before they departed for a land unknown."

As she listened, Kyla couldn't help but scowl at her sister. Being as book smart as she was, Kyla had always seen her as a bit of a know-it-all.

"That is correct," Zelda said with a nod. "The three Goddesses created this land and then departed, but not before leaving a powerful golden relic in their wake."

Zelda paused before pulling out an old scroll and unraveling it. On it was the symbol of three golden triangles stacked together in the shape of a pyramid. "This is the Triforce," she explained. "The Goddesses left it in this land as a tool for us mortals to use should the need for it arise. It is incredibly powerful, as it is said to grant the wish of whoever touches it."

"Whoa," Kyla mumbled as she stared closely at the image on the scroll. Even now, she could still recall the beautiful golden light that the triangle had given off in her dream. How alluring and magnificent it had been.

"The Triforce consists of three pieces in total," Link explained, continuing where Zelda had left off. "The three pieces are known separately as the Triforce of Power, Wisdom, and Courage. Normally, the Triforce's full power can only be used when all three pieces are united. However, the separate pieces of the Triforce are incredibly powerful in their own right. If a single piece is granted to someone, they naturally become much stronger, and can wield a surprising amount of force at their fingertips."

"Wow, that sounds really cool," Cecil said, looking impressed.

"It can also be incredibly dangerous," Zelda warned him. "The pieces of the Triforce are so powerful that only those who are sound of mind and pure of heart have any hope of utilizing it. Those who aren't capable of such things can still use the Triforce, but there's a chance that the power may end up corrupting their soul. This is why you must be very cautious when using it."

Kyla gawked, letting her mind wander as she listened to this legend. She could hardly believe what she was hearing. Not only was the Triforce real, but it really did seem to be as powerful as she hoped it was!

"So where is it?" the girl asked, growing even more curious. "It still exists, right?"

Link laughed at his daughter's sudden energy. "Yes, it still exists, sweetie, but I'm afraid its location is a secret."

"Huh?" Kyla said, immediately losing her excitement.

Zelda nodded. "As I'm sure you kids can understand, having such a powerful relic in our realm means that there are those who desperately wish to get their hands on it and use it for selfish and evil purposes. Because of this, our family has safely hidden the Triforce away, where no one will find it."

"Wh-What?" Kyla stammered, hardly believing her ears. "So we can't even see it?"

"I'm afraid not, sweetie," Link said, shaking his head. "It's better to leave it hidden for now."

"And you two are the only ones who know where it is?" Kristin asked, looking genuinely curious. Being a history buff, she had a great fascination for learning about old relics such as this.

"Us, your grandfather, and your auntie," Zelda clarified. "Once you kids come of age, we'll be willing to share its location with you as well, but until then, we'll only let you know that it's hidden somewhere in the castle."

"I understand," Kristin said with a nod. She may have been curious, but she was still obedient and responsible. She respected the wishes of her parents.

Kyla, however, felt very frustrated. Naturally, she was happy to finally learn more about this mighty Triforce that potentially had the power to save her. On the other hand, her parents were withholding way too much information. It felt like they were dangling the hope out in front of her, without giving her any real chance of grabbing onto it.

How was she supposed to interact with the Triforce if she didn't even know where to find it?

That very night, Kyla received another vivid dream. Once again, she was able to witness the great golden Triforce in all of its shining glory. It hovered overhead in the middle of a dark landscape. Kyla just stood still as she stared up at it, completely mesmerized by its brilliant glow.

"Where are you?" the girl asked eventually. "I want to find you."

For the next few seconds, all remained still. However, the Triforce then shimmered before shooting off, flying over the vast landscape. Kyla wanted to chase after it, but she didn't have to. Her body soon became weightless as she too hovered over the ground. Without any effort from her at all, she followed the golden triangle at a furious speed.

Within seconds, the Triforce passed through a large gate and entered into a castle. It wasn't just any castle though. Kyla immediately recognized it as Hyrule Castle, her very own home. She soon darted through the front doors, following the Triforce as it floated through hallway after hallway. Eventually, it reached the base of a tall tower, and began making its way up a long spiral staircase that led to the top. Kyla recognized this tower as well. It stood in one of the corners of the castle.

Kyla and the Triforce circled up the stairs before reaching the highest level. There, Kyla saw a grand door, which the Triforce halted in front of. It then shone, brighter than ever before. Its golden light began to turn white, bleaching its dark surroundings with its own radiance. Kyla closed her eyes and felt forced to look away. It was too much for her.

She tried to pry her eyes open and face the golden triangle once more, but it was far too bright. Before long, its light obliterated the dark castle that surrounded them, as well as the vast landscape beyond.

And then her dream was no more…

Kyla awoke with a start, panting a bit as her eyes darted around the dark corners of her room. It was the middle of the night, and it was completely silent. The girl took a few moments to catch her breath, still in awe at what she had just witnessed.

The Triforce truly was here in the castle! And now, if her dreams were any indication of reality, she knew exactly where it was! So much for her meddlesome parents trying to keep the truth from her. They wouldn't be able to stop her from reaching the Triforce now.

Grinning to herself, Kyla slid out of bed, making sure to keep quiet. She couldn't resist the temptation. She was far too eager to go to that tower and discover if her vision was true. To see if the Triforce actually rested at its top.

Kyla silently moved over to the door that connected to her parents' room and took a moment to listen in. Inside, she could hear her father snoring loudly. She smiled some more. Both of her parents were probably sound asleep.

Feeling confident, she made her way to the other door which led out into the hallway. Once she was certain that the coast was clear, she moved out, walking swiftly and quietly through the halls. She knew exactly where she needed to go, and she took the most direct path there. Occasionally, she managed to come across a guard on night patrol, but all she had to do was hide behind the nearest corner and wait a few minutes for them to move on.

Before long, Kyla made it to the tower and the long spiral staircase that ascended towards the top. Upon seeing this, the girl had to physically stop herself from laughing. The staircase looked exactly like it had in her dream! It was all real! This is where the Triforce rested, and she would soon have her hands on it. She would become strong and healthy, just as she had always wanted to be!

Wasting no time, Kyla made her way to the stairs. She began ascending them, one at a time. The stone felt cold under her bare feet, but she didn't care. She was far too excited to stop. Not when she had a wish at her fingertips. Not when she could live the life that she deserved to live.

However, as the minutes ticked by, Kyla's progress began to slow significantly. With each passing step, the girl could feel herself growing winded. It soon became a struggle to even fill her lungs with air.

Kyla frowned as she started panting. She didn't understand. Why was she so tired? Ascending these stairs hadn't taken this long in her dream. Had she possibly overestimated herself? Was she just too weak to climb this long staircase?

No, she thought, shaking her head. I'm not weak. I'm going to save myself. I have to…

Feeling determined, Kyla forced herself to take another shaky step, and then another. Her legs were honestly growing weary. They weren't used to this much exertion. But Kyla insisted on continuing. There was no way she could turn back. Not now. Not when she was so close.

However, she soon froze in her tracks, only to fall to her knees. With wide eyes, she grasped at her chest, suddenly feeling her windpipe constrict shut.

She couldn't breathe…

Kyla fully collapsed on the stairs, choking and gasping as she silently pleaded for help. Silently wished to be saved…

Zelda's eyes immediately snapped open, and she sat up in a frenzy. "Kyla," she whispered.

Link ceased his snoring as he too awoke, looking tired and groggy. "Hmm? Did you say something, honey?"

Zelda frowned, quickly growing concerned. "Link, it's Kyla. I think something has happened."

Link groaned before blinking a few times. "Is this another premonition? Honestly, I'm getting a little tired of these things happening every other night…"

"Link, I'm serious," she said, shooting her husband a scowl.

"Right, I know," he said, yawning as he too sat up. "So what's the matter with Kyla? I haven't heard her make any noise."

Zelda frowned again. She wasn't quite sure how to explain it. She could just feel that something was wrong. That her baby needed help. "I'm going to check on her," she said, rising out of bed.

Link nodded as he watched her go. He knew that nothing he said would convince her that Kyla was all right. He figured it would just be easier to let her check and see it for herself.

However, he was quickly proven wrong when he heard Zelda give a sharp gasp.

"Link!" she cried. "She's gone! Kyla's gone!"

"What?" Link immediately jumped out of bed, running over to his youngest daughter's room. Sure enough, what he found there was nothing but an empty bed, with no sign of Kyla to be seen. "I don't understand. Where could she have gone?"

"I don't know," Zelda said, looking even more worried as she shook her head. "Quick, let's call the guards and have them search for-"

Zelda then paused, her eyes going wide. Link gave her a curious look, wondering what her dazed expression was all about. It was almost as if she was seeing something. Something that he couldn't.

"The tower," she whispered.

"What?" Link asked, feeling confused.

"The tower," she repeated. "Kyla's there, at the tower, and she needs us."

Before Link even had a chance to ask any further questions, he watched as his wife darted out of the room, grabbing a bottle of Kyla's medicine as she ran. He just stood there for a second before running after her, trying desperately to understand what was happening.

"Wait, Zelda, how do you know?"

"I can sense it," Zelda replied without looking back. "She needs us, and she's at the tower."

Link just frowned. "But what's she doing there? And in the middle of the night?"

"I don't know, but for now, we just need to help her," Zelda said before running even faster.

A few of the guards managed to spot the couple as they dashed through the halls, but they didn't even have a chance to question them before they rushed by. The two parents were too focused to stop. Too determined to reach their daughter.

Within minutes, they arrived at the spiral staircase, and Zelda ascended it without a second thought. Naturally, Link was right behind her. It didn't take long before they circled it a few times, and finally managed to catch a glimpse of the girl collapsed on the stairs, desperately choking for air.

"Kyla!" Zelda shrieked. She immediately fell to her daughter's side, pulling her head into her lap. "Shh, it's okay, baby. Mommy's here…Link, can you give her the medicine?"

"I'm on it," Link said, taking the bottle from his wife's shaky fingers. He knew that she was too unsettled to do this properly. Staying calm and moving carefully, he forced the concoction down Kyla's throat. The girl choked a bit, as if threatening to spit it back up, but she soon swallowed it whole. She then went silent for a moment as the medicine worked its magic.

A few seconds later, she gasped, taking a deep breath in order to relieve her lungs. She then took several more breaths after that, desperately trying to fill her body with air once again.

"Oh, thank the Goddesses," Zelda said, pulling her child close. "Are you all right, Kyla? Just keep breathing."

"She'll be fine," Link assured his wife with a small smile. "We made it just in time."

Kyla continued taking her slow, deep breaths, but her breathing eventually began to calm. Once she returned to normalcy, she just frowned and closed her eyes, too ashamed to look at the concerned expressions of her parents.

"Are you all right, sweetie?" Zelda asked as she stroked her hair.

"Mm-hmm," she mumbled.

Link sighed, feeling relieved, but also a little curious. "Kyla, what exactly were you doing here?"

Kyla just gulped. This was the last thing that she wanted. For her parents to find out what she had been up to. "Um…I was just exploring…"

"In the middle of the night?" Link asked with raised eyebrows. "Why?"

"Um…" Kyla didn't know what to say. She certainly didn't want to tell them the truth.

Unfortunately, her parents were wiser than she gave them credit for. "Were you looking for the Triforce?" Zelda asked sternly.

Kyla gulped again. "Um…maybe…"

This time, both of her parents sighed in unison.

"Kyla, I know that you're curious about the Triforce, but we told you that its location is being kept a secret," Link explained patiently. "You're not allowed to know where it is."

"But…I just wanted to see it," Kyla said, trying to sound innocent. She hoped to hide her true intentions behind genuine curiosity, similar to how Kristin behaved whenever she was curious.

Link just shook his head. "Sorry, sweetie, but no means no. I don't want you roaming around the castle looking for this thing anymore. Do you understand?"

"At the very least, you should not be attempting something this strenuous," Zelda added. "No more going up long flights of stairs either. You're just putting yourself at risk for another asthma attack."

Kyla frowned, glancing back and forth between her two parents. Here she was, being constricted and controlled by them once again. What little freedom she had left was now being squeezed by their iron grip.

Still, she had no argument to make, so she simply sighed and gave them a nod. "I understand."

Link smiled down at her, feeling satisfied. He then scooped her up into his arms. "Come on. You need to get back to bed."

Kyla remained silent as her father carried her all the way back to her room. She was somewhat shocked by how badly her escapade to the tower had failed. If she couldn't even climb the stairs that led to the top, then would she ever be able to reach the Triforce? Was she cursed to know its location, and yet be unable to reach it? Was this just another one of the Goddesses' cruel jokes, played out for their own amusement?

Kyla frowned. She didn't know the answer, but she felt incredibly bitter about her situation. Once her father deposited her back into bed, she just crawled under her blankets, forcing her eyes shut as a few frustrated tears spilled out.

There was no hope left for her after all.

Meanwhile, Link and Zelda returned to their room, only for the Princess to pull her husband aside.

"Link," she said, dropping her voice down to a whisper. "The tower that Kyla was climbing when she collapsed. That's where…"

"I know," Link said with a nod. "You didn't tell her, did you?"

"Of course not. Did you?"

"Not a word."

"Then how did she know?" Zelda mumbled, breathlessly staring down at the floor.

"Lucky guess, maybe?" Link suggested.

"Maybe…" Zelda replied, still thinking it over.

Link soon sighed before crossing his arms. "Look, I don't think we have too much to worry about. She can't even make it up those steps without getting winded. And even if she did, the vault at the top is still locked up tight."

"I know," Zelda said with a nod. "The Triforce is probably safe. I just…I don't want her to be so curious that she puts herself in danger like this."

"I think this experience will stop her from roaming around the castle again," Link assured her. "At least for a while."

Zelda just sighed as she looked to the floor once more. "I hope you're right."

I love the thought of Link and Zelda sharing stories and lore with their children. It's like, "Gather around kids, it's time to learn about some awesome myths! And from your badass parents, no less!" Too bad that the impending drama seems to be overshadowing whatever potential wholesomeness we could've had here lol.
