Chapter 11 Attack of the Killer Garage Sale Part 2

To say Danielle was miffed with her brother would be understatement. She was beyond peeved. Currently, she was on her way to the Nasty Burger to meet with Sam, Tucker, and Zack. Something she would have been doing alongside Danny, but the boy had completely abandoned her after the Weasel Explosion. Probably to avoid having to clean up the mess that he technically caused, even if her father, for some reason or other, thought otherwise.

Regardless, the truth of the matter was because of Danny, she was late to meet Tucker, Sam, and Zack. She had to not only help her dad clean up the mess in the lab but also take a shower to get all that goop out of her hair. A task that turned out harder than she thought it would be.

"Stupid Danny," mumbled Danielle, as the Nasty Burger came within view, "Leaving me to clean up his mess… He's lucky I can't overshadow him, otherwise… Well, he would be doing something really embarrassing right about now."

After a minute or two, Danielle would arrive before the front doors of Nasty Burger and just as she was about to open them… Someone else did.
"I arrived," shouted Danny, as he pushed open the restaurant doors right into his sister's face. Prompting her to be pushed backwards and to the side before falling onto the ground on her butt.

"Ow," shouted Danielle, as she touched her nose to make sure she wasn't bleeding, which luckily, she wasn't. With that taken care of, Danielle would look up at Danny who was busy running down the street probably for home. "Asshole," muttered Danielle, as she stood up, "What's got him so excited?"

Looking through the window of the restaurant, she would see her friends still sitting at their booth. Deciding that they would probably know what was up with Danny, Danielle quickly entered the restaurant and joined them.

"Hey guys," said Danielle, as she rubbed her nose while taking a seat next to Tucker, "What's up with Danny?"

"Oh, not much," replied Tucker, with a sigh, "Just that he got invited to the popular kids party."

"Wait, run that by me again," asked Danielle, "Danny got invited to what now?"

"The popular kids party," said Sam.

"And how did he manage that," Danielle said.

"Your older sister apparently," said Zack, who sat next to Sam and was munching on some fries.

"Jazz," said Danielle, incredulously, "Hmm… How did she manage that I wonder…"

"Who knows," said Sam, as she took a sip of her drink, "How much do you want to bet Danny is going to be unbearable now though."

"Oh no doubt there," agreed Danielle, with a sigh, "He's totally going to be unbearable the next few days till this party."

The rest of the day would pass by in a blur for Danielle and her friends, and soon she would find herself at home in front of her computer when Danny came bursting into the room. "I arrived," shouted Danny, much to the chagrin of Danielle's ears.

"Yeah, I know," Danielle said, as she cleaned one of her ears with a finger and turned to face her brother, "How about you tone down the noise, bro?"

"Sorry, Elle," said Danny, as he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, "I'm just so excited I get to go to one of the popular kid parties."

"You're only excited because you think it'll get you a relationship with Paulina," said Danielle, as she returned her attention to her computer.

"I mean... I wouldn't be opposed to that," said Danny, with a chuckle, "But this party could open doors for me, Elle. And you guys as well, now that I think about it."

"Doors with the popular kids," Danielle laughed, "No thank you. I'd rather eat Dash's toenails than hang out with the popular kids."

"Oh, come Elle," said Danny, as he sat down on his bed, "They're not that bad."

"Again, you're only saying that because you were invited to that party," said Danielle, "Which only happened because of Jazz."

"And I'm going to make the most of this chance," said Danny, as she stood back up again, "Now if you'll excuse me. I'm going to take a shower. Can't be stinky for school tomorrow and get myself uninvited to the party." With that said, Danny will leave the room.

"Oh, he's totally going to be unbearable," mumbled Danielle.

The next day, Danielle would find herself walking to school with her friends and brother. They were just about to the school grounds when Tucker finally spoke up about something that was bothering him about Danny.

"Seriously, Danny," Tucker said, "Ever since you got that invitation, you're all about the in-crowd."

"Come on Tuck," chuckled Danny, as he tried to wave off the concern, "That's ridiculous. Kwan! Looking good!"

"Fenton-meister," shouted Kwan back, "Woo-Hoo!"

"Yep, totally ridiculous," said Danielle, her voice dripping with sarcasm only to receive a glare from her brother back in response.

"He's right, Danny," said Sam, "It's like-"

Only for Sam to be interrupted by Dash shouting, "Hey, Fenton! Come here!"

"-We're not even here," Sam would finish.

"Sorry about Danny, Sam," said Danielle, after a moment, "I'd say I'd have a word with him about this, but… He won't listen to me one bit."

"It's okay, Elle," said Sam, with a sigh, "I'm just hoping after this party is said and done that Danny goes back to normal. And we can just hang out like normal."

"Guess that will just depend on how the party goes," Zack would pipe in, as the group continued walking towards the school.

As the group neared Danny again, they would hear the ghost boy say, "Oh, man. This must cost a fortune! Where am I going to get the money by Saturday?"

"What must cost a fortune," said Danielle, on approach, "A new brain?"

"Ha ha," said Danny, with an eye roll towards his sister, "No, Elle. This." Danny would then show the group a magazine he had in his hand. Its cover showed a rather flashy and hip outfit of white and purple.

"You know," Sam began to say, as she brought a hand up to the back of her head, "I almost hate to offer-"

"Hey Danny," shouted Paulina, off in the distance as she interrupted Sam, "You wanna hear my new CD? It's really crunk."

"Is Crunk good," asked Danny, to Tucker.

"It's Paulina," Tucker simply replied.

"Crunks good," Danny would say before shouting back to Paulina, "Be right there!" He would then book it towards the popular girl once again ignoring his friends and sister.

"Okay this is getting really annoying," said Sam, as she looked at the others.

"You're telling me," said Danielle, as she glared at her brother, "Try living with him. I had to wear earplugs to sleep last night because he kept shouting in his sleep about how he arrived."

"I'm sure everything will go back to normal once this party is over," said Zack, as he tried to placate the goth and ghost girl.

"I hope you're right about that," Danielle and Sam would say in unison with Danielle adding under her breath, "But I doubt it..."

The school day would go by relatively fast for Danielle, which she was oddly thankful for. All around her people had been talking about the upcoming party, Danny included. As soon as Danielle entered the house, she would immediately book it from her brother and head up the stairs to their room. Along the way up the stairs though, she would hear some strange monster-like noises from the kitchen, but she would just surmise it was something her parents were doing since the lights were on. "Probably some experiment there working on together," thought Danielle, as she climbed to the top step.

Entering her room, she would go over to her computer. Booting her computer on and plopping down in the seat in front of the screen, she would wait for the desktop to pop up before clicking on the browser button.

"Let's see," said Danielle, as she typed in in the URL bar, "How much would… Skating stuff cost…"

As for the reason, Danielle was looking up such stuff. Well, her and Zack had hung out again at lunch in the parking lot since Zack really wanted Danielle to try skating as he felt she would be good at it or at least have fun doing it. And to his credit, he was right about the latter. Danielle had a great time, she just wished Zack's helmet would fit her better. Due to that, she really only skated around the parking lot. Not using the ramps or curb to grind at all.

"Hmm," said Danielle, as she plunged down the rabbit hole of skating supplies. She got so into looking she didn't realize Danny would enter the room a little later with a sneaky look on his face.

The next day, Danielle would be awoken by the sound of people outside her home.

"Looks to be in fine shape," she would hear Mr. Lancer say, "This should fix my hair hornet very nicely."

"Ughhhh," Danielle would groan, "What… What's going on? What time is it?"

"Looking over at the clock by her and her brother's bedside, she would see it read 12 noon, and she instantly sat up in surprise.

"Noon," said Danielle, shocked, "I slept through the whole morning! That's the last time I have an all-night gaming session…"

"I'll remember that on Monday when I'm grading tests," Danielle would hear Mr. Lancer say once again.

"Wha… Mr. Lancer," Danielle said, as she stood up from bed and headed for the window, "What's going on out there?"

As soon as she arrived at the window, she would gasp. Out on the sidewalk in front of the house were numerous tables filled with what looked to be her dad's things. "What in the world," said Danielle, as she saw Sam talking to Danny by one of the tables and handing him a bill, "Danny… What did you do?"

Quickly getting changed, Danielle would exit her room and head down the hall to the stairs. Taking the steps two at a time, Danielle would quickly arrive at the front door and pull open the door."-still 20 bucks short of what I need for those sweats," Danielle would hear her brother say.

"What are you doing, Danny," Danielle said, on approach to her brother.

"Oh afternoon, Sis," said Danny, as he turned to face his twin, "Get enough sleep."
"Who cares about that," said Danielle, as she stopped by her brother, "Why are all dad's things out here on the street?"

"Isn't it obvious, Elle," said Danny, "It's a garage sale..." And after a moment, he would add, "Dad said I could sell some of his old stuff."

"Did he now," said Danielle, as she raised an inquisitive brow, "When did he say that?"

"Asked him last night before bed," replied Danny, with a shrug, "You were too busy playing your game to notice though."

"I see," said Danielle, as she brought a hand to her chin in concentration as she looked over her brother closely.

Fortunately for Danny, Sam would butt into the conservation. "You're still welcome to hang out with us tonight," Sam offered. "Mega-movie marathon at my place."

"Your place," said Danny, surprised, "Wow. You've never invited anyone but Elle to your place before."

"That's because we're usually fighting ghosts with you," said Sam, "I figured it's time-"

"Hey Fentina," shouted Dash, once again interrupting Sam.

-for you to totally ignore me for the billionth time this week," Sam would finish, as Danny dashed away to talk to Dash.

Sighing, Danielle would approach her goth friend and say, "Again I'm sorry about my brother, Sam. Wish he could see how much he's ghosting us." At this Tucker would let out a chuckle, as Sam rolled her eyes.

"It's fine, Danielle," said Sam,"I just hope this stops so-"

Then Danny would interrupt Sam by hopping back over to the trio and asking, "You guys don't mind cleaning up for me, do you? Great! See ya." And dashed off in the direction of the mall.

"So now we're his clean-up crew, too" asked Sam, as she folded her arms in annoyance at Danny's antiques.

"Looks like it," replied Danielle, with a glare towards her brother's retreating form.

"See you tonight," shouted Tucker, as he ran off in the opposite direction Danny ran with both girls looking at one another and face palming.

"Jerks," muttered Danielle, under her breath as she and Sam began to collect her dad's stuff to put back in the shed.

It would take a little bit of time hauling everything back into the shed, but luckily part way through it Zack would show up and offer to help.

"So, he really left both you girls to clean up after his mess," asked Zack, as he picked up a filled box.

"Yep," an annoyed Danielle said, popping the "p", "Tucker too, but... I'm more okay with him doing it since that's… Is it rude to say that it's his thing?"

"I don't think so," said Sam, as she picked up a box of stuff as well, "It is kind of the thing Tuck is known for."

"That party is really changing your brother though," said Zack, as he returned to the front of the house, "I honestly didn't think it would change him that much."

"Why would you think that," said Danielle, with a puzzled look, "Danny is all about wanting to fit in with the popular crowd. He's just never had the opportunity to till now."

"Why do you think Jazz only got him an invite and not you though," Sam would ask, "I would have thought she would have convinced Dash to give both of you an invite to his party."

"She probably knows that sort of party wouldn't be my sort of thing," said Danielle, with a shrug, "God knows I wouldn't want to go to something like that without you guys along as well. And she knew she probably couldn't swing you guys and Tucker, as well."

"Hmm, maybe," said Sam, as she disappeared to the back yard.

"So, you ready for tonight," asked Zack, as he began packing some things into another box.

"Hmm," said Danielle, "Tonight?"

"You know, for the mega-movie marathon," replied Zack, "Sam invited me as well."

"Really," said Danielle, "She's really going to do it then."

"Do what," asked Zack.

"You'll see," Danielle replied, with a smirk, "You'll see."

Soon it was the evening, and Danielle would find herself walking up the steps to Sam's front door alongside Tucker and Zack.

"Want to do the honors," Danielle asked, as she gestured the two boys to the doorbell.

"Uh sure," said Tucker, a little confused as he pushed the doorbell.

A moment later, Sam would open up the door while talking on the phone. "Right. That's four mediums, two pepperoni, one supreme, and one veggie," Sam said, to the person over the phone, " Put it on my tab."

Entering before the two boys, Danielle would glance over her shoulder to see the two boys look in awe as they entered the house.

"Hey Tucker. Dani. Zack," said Sam, as she hung up the phone and closed the door.

"I hope they hustle," said Tucker, as he turned to their goth friend, "I'm starved."

"Agreed," Zack would add, "Plus some pepperoni slices sound really good right about now." Then the doorbell would ring again.

"Here's your pizza, Sam," said Nate, the pizza guy, as Sam opened up the door.

"Thanks Nate," said Sam, as she took the pizzas and handed the pizza guy a $10 dollar bill.

"10 bucks? Thanks Sam," said Nate, as Sam closed the door.

"You tipped the guy a ten-spot," asked Tucker, as both Tucker and Zack looked at Sam incredulously. Danielle, on the other hand, would just giggle behind the two. Oh, they were in for a shock.

"Whoops. Sorry," said Sam, "I thought it was a one. Come on. We're watching movies downstairs." With that said, Sam would lead the boys and Danielle through the house to the basement stairs. The whole way Tucker and Zack would stare wide-eyed at some of the things they saw along the way. Danielle, though, would just stay behind the two boys and watch. This was fun in her opinion to see what the boys would think of Sam's "secret."

As they descended the last step of the basement stairs, both boys would freeze upon arrival. Before them was a massive entertainment system. It could almost be a mini-theater. Giggling Danielle would walk past the boys and take a seat in one of the four plush chairs in the room.

"This is your downstairs," said Tucker and Zack in unison.

"What? Too much," said Sam, as she walked the pizzas over to the counter that was behind the chairs.

"Uh-huh," said Tucker, as both him and Zack shook their heads.

"I know," said Sam, "I should have told you guys and Danny this a long time ago, but my family's kind of… Filthy rich."

"Woah," said Tucker, "Time-out! You're loaded!"
"And why aren't you surprised by this Danielle," asked Zack, as he turned to face the ghost girl who was laughing in her chair.

"She's known since the first day we met," said Sam, "I just asked her to keep it a secret till I was ready to tell you guys."
"Yep," said Danielle, as she tried to control her giggling, "I agreed because it's really Sam's choice when to tell you guys. Plus… I got to see how shocked you guys were when you found out."

"But… How," Tucker asked, as he continued to look around in shock.

"My great-granddad Izzy was an inventor," replied Sam, "He invented that machine that twirls cellophane around deli toothpicks."

"You're the deli toothpick cellophane-twirling heiress," said Tucker, as he jumped into a seat, "No way."

"Cool," Zack would simply add.

"Look, if this is too much for you," said Sam, as she opened up one of the pizza boxes, "We could do something else?"

"Are you kidding," said Tucker, excited, "This is way better than what Danny will be doing tonight."

Author's Note: And there we go another chapter. For those wondering where the nickname Elle, is coming from, it's something I picked up from another Danny Phantom Fic I've gotten into called Frozen Fire. I just like the way Elle sounds for a nickname for Danielle. If you haven't checked out that fic, you should give it a try. It's really good in my opinion. Anyway, tell me what you think, and I'll see you in the next chapter! See ya!
