Malie Garden
It was the end of another day at the Alola Pokemon School; Lincoln's group, and Chandler, exited the building and started walking, or running in the redhead's case, to the front gate.
"Yes! Four day weekend!" cheered Chandler.
"What should we do, guys?" asked Shane.
"I really want to head for my next Island Trial." said Lincoln.
"The Thrifty Megamart is near a place called Tapu Village." said Sophocles.
"Tapu?" Lincoln replied. "Like Tapu Koko?"
"Each island has its own deity Pokemon like Tapu Koko." said Kiawe.
"I did not know that." said Lincoln.
"Hey, Loud!" Chandler calls out to the white-haired boy.
"Could you be more specific?" asked Shelby as she gestures to her brothers and cousins.
"I meant Larry." Chandler replied.
"LINCOLN!" everyone else responded.
"Whatever." said Chandler before he takes a pokeball off his waist and tosses it, releasing his evolved Tentacool. "My Tentacool evolved yesterday; tell me what he is now."
"Fine." said Lincoln as he takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at Chandler's newly evolved Pokemon.
"Tentacruel, the Jellyfish Pokemon, and the evolved form of Tentacool. It fires off ultrasonic waves from its red orbs to weaken its prey, and then it wraps them up in its 80 tentacles." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Good for you, Chandler." Lynn sarcastically said.
"Whatever." Chandler replied, returning Tentacruel to his pokeball.
"So what are you gonna do now?" asked Shiloh with a frown.
"I'm gonna take on that kahuna that Larry beat a couple weeks ago." said Chandler.
"What makes you think you can?" asked Shelby.
"If Larry can do it, then so can I." said Chandler with a smirk.
"Don't get cocky, chump." said Lynn.
"I'll do whatever I want." said Chandler.
"Then so can I!" said Lynn before she runs behind Chandler and gives him a wedgie, making him cringe.
"Let's get going, everyone." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, the sooner we get away from Chandler, the better." said Shelby.
"Don't miss me too much, babe." Chandler says to Lillie while winking at her, making her cringe.
"I'm sure she'll manage." said Mallow. As Chandler starts walking to the marina, Lincoln takes out his Ride Pager and uses it to call for several Charizards.
"Let's get going." said Shane. After everyone gets onto a Charizard in pairs, with Mallow riding with Lincoln, they all head off towards Ula'ula Island.
Twenty minutes later, the group arrives in Malie City and hop off their Ride Pokemon.
"Well, we're here." said Lincoln.
"Lincoln; could we check out the Malie Garden?" asked Mallow.
"Malie Garden?" Shane replied.
"It's an attraction here in Malie City." said Lillie. "Everyone gets to experience what life in the Johto Region like."
"I really, really, want to see it, Lincoln." Mallow says to Lincoln while giving him the puppy dog eyes.
"I think we have time to check it out." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, Lincoln." said Mallow.
"Where is Malie Garden?" asked Sophocles.
"Allow me to assist you." said a voice from nearby.
"Who said that?" asked Shiloh as everyone looked around.
"Over here." the voice said, making everyone look to see it was coming from the image of a boy wearing blue ninja attire that was on a nearby wall.
"Is that drawing talking to us?" asked Shelby. Suddenly, the 'drawing' peeled off the wall, revealing that it was, in fact, a real person.
"Cool!" said Shiloh.
"Greetings, everyone." the ninja boy said.
"Who are you?" asked Lynn as she gets into a martial arts stance.
"I mean no harm." said the ninja boy. "My name is Charlie Charma; I'm a tour guide with the Malie Garden."
"Really?" asked Lynn as she slightly lowers her guard a bit.
"Yes." said the ninja boy now known as Charlie.
"Could you bring us to the Malie Garden, please?" asked Shelby.
"Of course." said Charlie. "But let me get you to the Pokemon Center; there you can get authentic Johto garb you can wear to get the full experience."
"That sounds like fun." said Lincoln.
The group follows Charlie to the Pokemon Center and leads them to some changing rooms; one for the boys, and one for the girls.
"There are many different outfits to choose from." said Charlie. "Feel free to pick one that you think suits you, get changed, and meet me outside."
"Thank you." said Lillie.
Everyone goes into the changing rooms and see all the different outfits layed out for them.
"So pretty." said Lillie as she picks up a pink dress with a white sash.
"Yeah!" said Shelby as she grabs a pink kimono in her size.
In the boys' changing room, Lincoln and the others were getting into the outfits they found for themselves.
"This is so cool." said Lincoln as he puts on an orange kimono with white trousers and waist wrap.
"I wonder what kind of stuff is in Malie Garden?" asked Sophocles as he tries on a sleevless, olive-green, kimono.
"Do you think there'll be Pokemon we haven't seen before?" asked Shiloh as he puts on a purple kimono with gray trousers.
"Let's hurry so we can go see for ourselves." said Shane as he puts on a magenta kimono with black trousers.
Soon, everyone finishes picking, and changing into, their outfits and meet outside the changing rooms.
"I like my outfit." said Lynn as she checks out the samurai hakama she was wearing which consisted of a red top, and white trousers.
"Those are your colors." said Shane. As Lincoln looks at the girls' outifts, he couldn't help but gawk at Mallow, who was wearing a red kimono with pink apron, along with her hair done up.
"How do I look, Lincoln?" asked Mallow with a blush.
"Y-You look amazing." said Lincoln with a blush of his own, making everyone else chuckle.
"Now that everyone's ready; how about a commemorative photo to preserve this moment?" asked Charlie.
"Sure." said Lincoln as he brings out his Rotom Phone, sets the timer on the camera, and has everyone gather together in front of it; a few seconds later, the flash goes off, indicating the photo was taken.
"Shall we head over to Malie Garden?" asked Charlie.
"Lead the way." said Lynn.
Everyone exits the Pokemon Center and head just north of it until they reach a walled-area and enter through the front gate.
"Wow!" said Shelby as she and everyone looks around at the beautiful landscape that is the Malie Garden, which consisted of large bonsai trees, bamboo stalks, stone walkways, rivers, and a tall golden pagoda tower.
"This is so cool!" said Lincoln.
"If you want the best view of this place; then you can go to the top of the observation tower." said Charlie Charma as he points toward the tall pagoda tower that was a quarter mile away from them.
"Climbing to the top of that would be great cardio." said Lynn as she begins stretching her legs.
"Good thing I did all that training for the pancake race." said Lincoln as he looks up at how tall the tower was.
"Let's go." said Alola Lana as everyone enters the tower and begins climbing up the stairs.
Ten minutes later, the group reaches the top and head out onto the balcony to get a good look around.
"Look at this view." said Lincoln as he looks around at everything.
"We should call our family and let them see this." suggested Lynn.
"Good idea." said Lincoln as he takes out his Rotom Phone and calls his and Lynn's parents.
"Hi, kids." said Lynn Sr.
"How are you kids doing in Alola?" asked Rita.
"And what are you guys wearing?" asked Lori.
"Those outfits are, totes, amazing!" said Leni.
Lincoln then tells his family back in Royal Woods about the Malie Garden and shows them the view from the tower.
"That is, literally, breathtaking." said Lori.
"You kids are really seeing lots of amazing things there." said Lynn Sr.
"I wish I was there." said Lana. "Lynn's outfit looks cool!"
"I like the dress that Lillie is wearing." said Lola.
"Me, too." said Leni.
"We'll show you guys around the garden." said Lincoln.
"Thanks, son." said Lynn Sr.
"Now that you all have had a good look at the garden; I will leave you all to experience it close up for yourselves." said Charlie.
"Thank you." said Sophocles before Charlie throws a black ball to the ground, causing a black cloud of smoke to fill the area, making everyone close their eyes and cough.
"Would it hurt to warn us before doing that?!" asked Mallow; when the smoke cleared, Charlie was gone.
"He better hope I don't get my hands on him." said Lynn as she cracks her knuckles.
"Forget him." said Lincoln. "Let's take a look around the garden and give our family a tour."
The group wanders around Malie Garden while Lincoln shows everyone back in Royal Woods all that there was to see, including rickshaw carts being pulled by Hariyamas, and tents being carried by pairs of Passimians wearing blue robes.
After an hour, the group decides to head over to a tea house where they see a couple of white, floating, humanoid Pokemon that looked like they were wearing kimonoes with orange sashes, along with having two ice crystals on their heads, and wearing green aprons; they were serving cups of tea, and dango on skewers.
"What are those Pokemon?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at the two Pokemon.
"Froslass, the Snow Land Pokemon, and the evolved form of Snorunt. She freezes hikers who have come to climb snowy mountains and carries them back to its home. She only goes after men she thinks are handsome." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"I don't think Chandler would have to worry about these Pokemon going after him." Shelby says, making everyone else chuckle.
Everyone sits on the cushions surrounding several small tables and begin having themselves a late afternoon snack.
"Today's been awesome so far." said Lincoln.
"Including the part that Chandler isn't here with us." said Mallow.
"You said it." said Lynn.
"I wish I was there right now." Lola says with a pout.
"Me, too." said Lana.
"That place looks so relaxing." said Lori. As soon as she said that, the sounds of motorcycles fills the air, making everyone look to see a familiar sight of Team Skull motorcycles moving across the garden, running over plants and stuff while driving people away.
"Oh, great; it's Team Skull again." said Lincoln as he stands up.
"They're the second to last thing I wanted to see right now." said Shelby.
"What's the last thing?" asked Shiloh.
"Chandler's face." said Shelby.
"Let's focus on stopping these guys from wrecking this place up to much." said Lynn.
"You better!" said Lola. "I want to visit that place someday!"
The group run over to a stone path that the Team Skull members were heading down and stand in front of them, making them stop in their tracks.
"Who do you chumps think you are getting in our way?" asked a very large male Team Skull member with black hair.
"Whoa." said Lynn. "That guy's huge."
"Hey, you're those school dweebs who are giving Team Skull trouble!" said another male Team Skull member with dark pale blue hair.
"Watch it, chump!" said Lynn as she cracks her knuckles.
"Why are you wrecking up the garden?" asked Lincoln, getting the Team Skull members' attention.
"It's that white-haired kid that the girls in our gang like." said the large Team Skull member, making the Loud sisters and Shelby giggle, while Mallow frowns.
"Let's teach these guys a lesson about messing with us!" said the blue-haired member.
"How about introducing yourselves first?" asked Shelby.
"Fine." said the large Team Skull member. "The name's Crush!"
"And I'm Punch!" said the pale blue-haired Team Skull member now identified as Punch.
"How about I show you a real punch?" asked Lynn as she punches the palm of her other hand.
"Tough girl, huh?" Punch replied. "Let's see how tough you are in a Pokemon battle!"
"Bring it on, chump!" said Lynn. Moments later, Lynn and Punch were standing several feet from each other. "So, how many Pokemon are we using?"
"One." replied Punch.
"Why; that as high as you can count?" asked Lynn, making Punch growl. Lynn and Punch each pull out a pokeball.
"Golett, go!" said Punch, throwing a pokeball and releasing a bipedal Pokemon that appeared to made of clay and was two shades of blue that had stone blocks for forearms and feet. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at Punch's Pokemon.
"Golett, the Automoton Pokemon. Its movements are powered by a mysterious energy. It has continued to move since ancient times, so its power may soon run out." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Crabrawler, you're up!" said Lynn, throwing Crabrawler's pokeball and releasing her. "Okay, Crabrawler, use Leer!" Crabrawler's glares at Golett while her eyes glowed red and its defense weakens.
"Golett, use Shadow Punch!" said Punch. Black and purple energy forms around Golett's arm and it throws it forward, releasing a black fist from it and it hits Crabrawler, knocking her back. "My Golett has the Iron Fist ability; makes its punching attacks stronger."
"I know what that ability does; my Crabrawler has that ability too." said Lynn. "Crabrawler, use Payback!" Crabrawler's pincer becomes surrounded by dark energy and she punches Golett, dealing massive damage due to Payback's power being doubled due to Crabrawler receiving damage before releasing the attack, and sending Golett flying back and landing on its back; it struggles to get up.
"Golett, use Mega Punch!" said Punch. Golett's hand glows white and it punches Crabrawler with it, damaging her.
"Crabrawler, use Pursuit!" said Lynn. Crabrawler leaps at Golett and strikes it with her pincer, dealing enough damage to knock Golett out.
"No way!" yelled Punch.
"Yeah; you show him, cuz!" cheered Shane.
"Awesome!" said Shiloh.
"Yeah! Lynn-er Lynn-er, chicken dinner!" cheered Lynn. Punch growled before returning Golett to its pokeball; he storms over to Lynn.
"Next time, I'll beat you." said Punch, before giving Lynn pokedollars.
"That'll be the day." replied Lynn.
"Which of you wants to battle me?!" asked Crush.
"I will." said Lincoln as he steps forward. "I could use a warm-up before my next Island Trial."
"You're going down!" said Crush as he tosses a pokeball, releasing a Pokemon that looked like a Mankey, but bigger, had no tail, its hands looked like boxing gloves, and metal cuffs around its wrists and ankles.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at Crush's Pokemon.
"Primeape, the Pig Monkey Pokemon, and the evolved form of Mankey. It will never forgive opponents who have angered it. Even after it has beaten them down until they can't move, it never ever forgives." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Rufflet, let's do this!" said Lincoln as he takes out his Rufflet's pokeball and lets him out of it. "Okay, use Hone Claws!" His Rufflet's talons began to glow red as orange energy covers his body, increasing his attack strength and accuracy.
"Primeape, use Cross Chop!" said Crush. His Primeape crosses his arms together as it leaps at Rufflet.
"Rufflet, dodge and use Air Slash!" said Lincoln. His Rufflet flies up as Crush's Primeape swings its arms at him, narrowly missing; he then flaps his wings, releasing blue, ring-shaped, energy blades from them, hitting the Primeape, dealing super effective damage.
"Primeape, use Assurance!" said Crush. His Primeape rushes forward and thrusts both its fists into Rufflet's torso, knocking him back.
"Rufflet, use Aerial Ace!" said Lincoln. His Rufflet recovers from his hit by flying in a loop before heading back at the Primeape while white streams of energy flow from his body; he strikes his opponent in the face, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"No way!" shouts Crush.
"You lost, chump!" said Lynn. Crush growls before he returns his Primeape to its pokeball and tosses Lincoln pokedollars.
"How strong are these guys?!" asked Punch.
"I don't know." said Crush before he and Punch run back to their motorcycles and climb onto them.
"You guys better watch your backs!" said Punch. "The boss will be taking your white-haired friend there down at the Alola League!"
"Bring him on!" said Lynn. Both Team Skull members ride out of the Malie Garden and headed south out of the city.
"Good riddance." said Mallow. Lincoln looks around at all the damage that the Team Skull members caused.
"Look at this place." said Lincoln with sorrow in his voice; Mallow looks at him before putting one of her hands on one of his shoulders.
"Don't worry about it." a voice calls out, making everyone look around and see Charlie standing on top of a bamboo stalk.
"Where were you when those guys were wrecking up the place?!" asked Lynn.
"I don't have any Pokemon to battle them with." said Charlie.
"You could've done something at least." said Shelby.
"You're right." said Charlie with regret.
"What's done is done." said Lincoln.
"And don't worry about the garden." said Charlie. "Our groundskeepers will have this place looking as good as new in no time."
"That's good to hear." said Lillie.
Later, after everyone got back into their regular clothes, they were all having dinner at the Pokemon Center.
"So, how do we get to Tapu Village?" asked Lincoln.
"First, you have to head east of Malie City down Route 12, then you keep going until you reach Route 13, and after that, you'll reach Tapu Village." said Sophocles.
"We'll start heading there tomorrow morning." said Lincoln.
"I guess it is getting close to bedtime." said Shelby.
Once everyone ate, they showered and took care of their teeth before going to sleep.
Meanwhile, on Akala Island in Konikoni City, Chandler was settling down into bed at the Pokemon Center.
"Just wait until that kahuna sees what I can do tomorrow." said Chandler. "Once I beat her, I'll be one step closer to being in the Alola League where I'll take down Loud, show everyone how awesome I am, and making Lillie mine."
The Louds have had an eventful day in the Malie Garden. What other adventures await them as their Alola adventures continue?
