After everything that has happened in the past year, the absolute last thing on Darry's mind is his social life, let alone dating someone. All of that changes when he runs into someone from his past; someone that he still has feelings for. This story stems from my one-shot series "Darry Has A Girlfriend: One-Shot Series" but I wanted to dive deeper into this relationship.

This is the story that my AU revolves around. It revolves around Dallas Winston and Vivian Myer, and how they’re more alike (in some ways) than they thought. Many other characters from the ‘family tree’ are involved.

Welcome to my one-shot series! The whole gang will be mentioned throughout these stories, but we're focusing on the relationship between Darry and his girlfriend because Darry is underrated and I think he deserves someone special. All sorts of themes and genres will be in these stories as well, not just pure fluff.

6th Story in New Girl or Just New Trouble Story. Steve, Soda are off to fight in Vietnam in 1971. Harley is sent over with them to cover the story for the LA Times, who sends over one of her law mentors to help her stay on track for law school. Pony is left by himself to finish his senior year at USC, while Darry and Two-Bit go back to Tulsa.

Darry tries to keep his kid sister on the straight and narrow.

Soda sounds furious, voice hushed but dripping with venom. "I don't think that kid even knows you care about him, Dar." There's a long, screaming silence before, finally, Darry says, "Yeah he does." But I've never heard him sound so unsure. Disclaimer: No characters are my own.

"I got done grading papers early, figured we could make dinner together and have a good, nice, relaxing night in for once." Ponyboy told him. Johnny's eyes lit up, something that Ponyboy had been noticing a little more every time that he and Johnny did something domestic together.

Ponyboy always has his head in the clouds, so it takes a lot to make him angry. Then Johnny got jumped, and everything started to spiral out of control. ONE-SHOT

In another universe, where Ponyboy is a girl, it’s not exactly socially acceptable for girls to go around beating up others, never mind the socs. But that doesn’t mean she can’t get them back.

This story is embedded into my AU, which is centered around OCs. This story revolves around how Soda and Lori Curtis picked the names for their children.

A lot has happened during the summer and the year in general of 1969 when Harley is starting her junior year at USC and Pony is starting his sophomore year. How does this inspire them and impact them this year? What will they discover?
