There was a new doctor at the hospital, and Arizona had been relentlessly teasing Amelia that she had developed a crush on her.

Well, to be fair. She was not that hard to look at. Brunette, beautiful, tall – Italian. She had this sultry voice that kept Amelia on her toes whenever she would speak or even come close to her.

"It's okay. I'll allow it." Arizona beamed with pride, sneaking a wink as they passed by Carina Deluca while she was in line for coffee. The Italian waved back with a smirk as if she knew exactly what they were talking about. Amelia froze, giving a soft nudge to her girlfriend.

"Shut up." She hissed, and Arizona couldn't help but laugh at that.

She took Amelia's hand in hers, giving a squeeze before putting the back of her hand on her lips, and kissing them. The brunette's eyes widened, and in a state of shock, swiftly pulled her wrist away as she gave Arizona a knowing look, honestly, she still felt guilty for needing to constantly remind her girlfriend to keep her distance.

It was a mutual decision that they keep their relationship a secret, for now. Mostly because what they had going was not really anyone's business, and also, Amelia secretly loved that she got to keep Arizona by herself and away from the prying eyes of everyone else, Maggie and Meredith too, to be specific.

Besides, they both have decided to do it when the time is right even if the circumstances have prevalently been begging to differ. The timing could never be perfect, not when they often get caught up in the middle of back-to-back surgeries, hospital drama, the lack of sleep, and other more uncontrollable, unfortunate factors. Maybe it would just happen someday -but now? Now, they couldn't ask for anything else other than having each other.

Arizona took one look at Amelia, instantly getting the memo and now, looking extremely guilty as she leaned in, speaking in a timid whisper, "Shit, I forgot. I'm so—"

Amelia wanted to get Arizona to keep her mouth shut by kissing her. She badly wanted to — but she was also being reminded about the mutual decision they both had to keep and so, the most she could do at this point was just to shrug it off, with a reassuring smile on her face. "It's fine, Arizona. I get it."

"Not my fault my girlfriend's looking extremely hot today." She piped, the line at the coffee cart getting smaller and smaller now as they stride a few more steps closer to getting their fresh cup of coffee.

Amelia smiled, grateful that she hadn't received her cup yet. She knew that she might just end up spitting the drink out if she had it now. Being complimented by Arizona and being in the same space as her was something she has yet to get used to. Amelia surely wasn't complaining though. She loved being able to see this side of Arizona. For years, Amelia barely could get anything from her, and here was Arizona now— giving everything, unasked and all for herself.

Arizona would smile at her as if she were her world, and she constantly would make it a point that was true.

"Careful, your words are doing something in me—"Do me."You're constantly feeding my ego, I might end up having a big head." She decided by the last minute to put it that way instead so as to not stir anything up. They both had consults in the next hour and even if half an hour, even less, was more thanachievableto do what she badly wanted with her girlfriend, she knew that was something she had to place on hold for now.

Well, not until they make it back home to Arizona's place. Which was also, ten hours from .

They each grabbed their coffees, murmured their thanks, and headed toward the attendings' lounge. With every step, resisting the urge to walk hand in hand became increasingly difficult.

"Girlfriend, when can I see you again?" Arizona teased, her voice playful.

Amelia bit her tongue to keep from laughing—it was so unlike Arizona to be this way, but she understood. After years of waiting, of missteps and missed chances, they had finally gotten their shit together. Now that they had, she wasn't about to waste a single moment.

"Didn't we already agree to meet at your place later tonight?" Amelia reminded her with a chuckle.

Arizona let out a dramatic sigh, her lips forming into a slight pout. "I know, but that's too long."

As they stepped into the lounge, Arizona instinctively helped Amelia shrug off her coat, hanging it neatly beside her own.

"I always end up missing you," she admitted, her voice softer now, more sincere.

Amelia's heart fluttered. With a gentle squeeze of Arizona's hand, she smiled. "Then I guess we'll just have to make the waiting worth it."

Unable to resist, she pulled Arizona closer, her eyes flickering around the room in a quick scan. When she was sure they were alone, she leaned in, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to Arizona's lips.

She felt Arizona sigh into her mouth, her hands sliding up to cradle Amelia's face. A teasing swipe of her thumb parted Amelia's lips, deepening the kiss, and sending a shiver down her spine.

The heat between them built quickly, the kiss growing more urgent as Arizona took control. Amelia let herself be backed against the wall, her fingers curling around the edges of Arizona's scrub top in playful defiance, a breathless smile forming between kisses.

"What did I say about being careful, Robbins?" she murmured, pulling back just slightly.

Arizona didn't bother answering with words. Instead, she captured Amelia's lips again in a firm, insistent kiss, silencing any protest before it could form. And just like that, Amelia was lost—lost in the taste of her, the feel of her, the way Arizona always knew exactly how to unravel her.

She couldn't complain.

"Like I said, it's not my fault - my girlfriend's looking completely hot today." She pulled away from her lips, only to reconnect them with her neck, leaving a trail of kisses right at the tender spot on her pulse point.

"Fuck, Arizona." Amelia couldn't help the moan that escaped her lips, her knees growing weak as she struggled to stay upright.

Arizona smirked against her mouth, her hands slipping beneath Amelia's scrub top, fingertips grazing along her ribcage in a slow, deliberate tease. The touch sent a shiver down Amelia's spine, heat pooling low in her belly. "You're getting me all—"

"Horny?" A voice chimed in from behind, making them both freeze.

Amelia's eyes flew open in panic as Arizona stiffened against her. They turned their heads in unison, her heart hammering in her chest, only to find Carina standing in the doorway, arms crossed, an amused smirk tugging at her lips.

"Well, don't stop on my account," Carina teased, raising an eyebrow. "This is way more entertaining than my coffee break." she mused, taking a slow slip from her cup without breaking eye contact.

Amelia swallowed hard, glancing at Arizona, whose expression had shifted from startled to something dangerously close to laughter.

Of course, Arizona would find this funny. Meanwhile, Amelia was already mentally spiraling. No one was supposed to know.

"We…uh, this isn't—" Arizona started, but Carina just continued smiling, almost taunting them as she leaned against the doorframe.

"Arizona, please," she interrupted smoothly. "I have seen enough hospital hookups to know one when I see one." She tilted her head, eyes flicking between them. "But you two?Interesting."

Amelia wanted to scoff at Carina for even suggesting that she and Arizona were justhooking up—as if this was some casual fling. But what was the point of correcting her? Saying they were in anactualrelationship wouldn't erase the fact that they had just been caughtalmost having sexin a public lounge.

Amelia finally found her voice, clearing her throat. "Carina, maybe we—"

"Oh, don't worry," Carina said, waving a dismissive hand. "Your secret is safe with me."

Carina leaned against the counter, watching them with a smirk that Ameliareallydidn't like. It was the kind of smirk that meant she was about to say something wildly inappropriate.

"You know," Carina began, swirling her coffee casually, "This reminds me of a study I'm conducting."

Arizona groaned, already dreading where this was headed.

Amelia, initially confused, quickly pieced it together. Andrew lived with Arizona, which meant Carina must have spent plenty of time around them. Whateverthiswas, Arizona already knew—and judging by her reaction, it couldn't be good. "Carina—"

But Carina ignored her, turning her full attention to Amelia. "I'm working on a veryfascinatingexperiment involving the effects of orgasms on the female brain. Sex toys, brain scans, the whole thing," she said with a nonchalant shrug. "You'd be surprised how much stress relief it provides."

Amelia blinked, utterly caught off guard. "Are you—are yousuggestingsomething right now?"

Carina's smirk widened. "I'm just saying, if you two insist on sneaking around, maybe you'd be interested in contributing to medical research at the same time." She took another slow sip of her coffee, eyes still glinting with amusement.

Amelia bit back a laugh, while Arizona groaned, covering her face with both hands. "I hate everything about this conversation."

Carina chuckled, pushing off the counter. "Well, if you change your mind, you know where to find me."

With that, she grabbed her coffee and walked out of the lounge, leaving them standing there—equal parts mortified and undeniably, frustratingly turned on.

Arizona exhaled in relief, turning to Amelia with an amused grin. "Well, it could've been worse. For a second, I thought she was suggesting a threesome."

Amelia, still slightly dazed, smirked as she met Arizona's gaze. "I wouldn't be against that."

Arizona choked on air. "Excuse me?!"

Amelia just shrugged, biting back a mischievous grin as she walked past her. "Just saying," she teased, leaving Arizona standing there, flustered for once.
