Chapter 15
Chūnin Exams: Part 2
Raiura was in the training ground that team 7 was always in with Sasuke and Sakura. She looked like she was really going to kick Kakashi's ass when she got him alone, he told them to meet him here at 9:00 am. Then he doesn't show up and it's 11:30 am. Mikoto had already laid down to sleep at 10:00 when Kakashi didn't show up, the white wolf was current that the Hatake brat was definitely doing this on purpose to piss off his genin team.
A poof of smoke later and Kakashi appeared in the training ground, only to get a fist to the head and having to dodge a Raiton: Kaminari no Yari.
"Maa, Raiura-chan... I'm sorry for being late, I was helping a small kid get his cat out of a tree, then the cat turned out to be black so I had to go the long way around," Kakashi gave the most complex, yet simple lie that he every said. Mikoto gave a silent snort as she saw the pink, cherry blossom and sea water smelling girl flare in anger.
"That just two of your stupid lies put together," Sakura shouted.
"Hahahaha! Love the way this brat just annoys you two. Makes him so much more tolarable..." Kurama laughed out.
'Be quiet, fluffy,' the Uzumaki inwardly scowled, she was still very mad at her nī-chan/sensei.
"Anyways," Kakashi completely ignored what Sakura said, "I sign you three up for the Chūnin Exams."
Raiura blinked, "We just got out of the Academy and through a very dangerous C turned A rank... Are you sure that it's wise for us to participate right now? Can't we wait until the next Chūnin Exams in Suna?"
Kakashi gave an eye smile, "While that is a good point Raiura-chan, you three are more than ready to be chūnin with the way you've been training."
"Well if you say so sensei..." the blonde said with a tilted head.
Kakashi handed the three of them the forms for the exams, "Remember to go to the Academy at 3:00 pm and to room 301. Ja ne," with that Kakashi disappeared in a poof smoke.
Sasuke looked to Raiura, "So... Are we really going to do the exams?"
Raiura nodded, "All three of us have to be their with the forms... if any of you don't feel confident this year, then that's okay and when can always do the exams in Suna that are six months from now."
The dark haired boy looked a little hesitant before nodding, "Alright, see you two," Mikoto growled, she was apart of the team too after all, "I mean see you four tomorrow."
Mikoto huffed and got up as Sasuke finished talk, the wolf then plopped her butt down next to her summoner, "Woof."
Raiura gave a small chuckle, "Are you excited?"
Mikoto wagged her tail, "Woof."
"Hey Raiura," Sakura called out.
"Yes?" Raiura tilted her head to Sakura.
"I was wondering if you would be willing to help me find an apartment?" Sakura asked.
Raiura was very confused now, "Why would you want to live in an apartment? Don't you live with your parents?"
Sakura sighed, "I total fine now after the mission, I understand that sometimes people die and that I shouldn't dread on it too much... But my parents are treating me like glass no matter how much I ask for them to stop... I just... I want to move out."
"Are you sure Sakura?" asked Raiura.
Sakura nodded, "Definitely, I sick of saying the same things over and over, I've already packed up all of my stuff and I'm just searching now."
Kurama snorted, "Wow, this brat really thought it through."
'Be quiet and let me think in peace,' Raiura snapped at her bijū.
Raiura frown but understood why Sakura was doing this, "Well, I can show you to apartments in the shinobi district, or you can come live in my compound, I'll charge around 300 to 500 ryo per month."
"I'll have to think about it," Sakura said, "Can you show to the apartments in the shinobi district?"
Raiura nodded, before shunshining away with Mikoto and her fellow female teammate.
Sakura really hated the fact that all the apartments in the shinobi district were over priced. She couldn't afford any of them without seriously cutting down on other things she need. The price Raiura had offered was so much more cheaper and affordable than... whatever price those were.
"Hey Raiura," Sakura called out and Raiura turned her head to Sakura.
"Yes?"
"I'll take that offer on the apartment."
Kurama burst out laughing.
The next day, Sasuke, Sakura, and Raiura were all in front of the academy. Before they walked in Raiura handed them both something.
"Some one owed me so I asked them to forge these. I scribed a storage and chakra storage seal," Raiura handed them each one arm guard that wrapped around their arm, it was kind of like something you'd see an elf wear. The arms guards also had name Team 7 carved into the metal.
"Thanks," Sakura said with a grin.
"Thank you," Sasuke murmured.
"The Uchiha brat better thankful," Kurama huffed.
'Like you did all the work," Raiura shot back.
Sasuke tied the arm guard on to his left hand, tying the small belts that were painted the same color as the metallic silver of the arm guard. Sakura did the same and Raiura was already wearing hers. They walked into the Academy, not bothering with the genjutsu door, having already sensed it and decided to keep their mouths shut. Before they could make their way up stairs, they were stopped by a boy with bowl cut hair and a green spandex.
"You. Uchiha, your the so called youthful genius of your year as well as the youthful Shinobi of your year. I challenge you to a fight to prove that hard work always youthfully trumps genius," the boy said.
"First of all, I'm not a genius nor Shinobi Of The Year, that's Raiura," Sasuke said, pointing a thumb to his blonde teammate.
"Second of all, it's rude not to introduce yourself first when talking to somebody that has never since you before," Sakura said.
"Third of all," Raiura took a deep breath and smirked, "Your in the way, move it Bushy Brows, some of us want to pass this exam."
Then Neji walked up behind the boy with a girl with two buns on her head right behind him, "Raiura-san," Neji said with a small bow.
"Neji-san," my smirk turned into a small smile.
"I apologize for Rock Lee," Neji said, then smirked, "But if we fight in the exams, I'm fated to win just as your fated to lose."
Raiura's close as she smiles, a tick mark forming on her head, "Watch what you say Neji, because unlike you, I'm less likely to run to Hiashi-oji-san if things don't go my way."
"No," Neji's smirked widened, "Your more likely to go to the despicable Uchih-" Neji didn't finish as a punch from Raiura came at his face, making his female teammate have to dodge her teammate that went flying.
Kurama winced, the Hyūga shouldn't have said that, "Stupid Human."
Raiura crackled her knuckles in a way that reminded some of the chūnin watching of a certain Sannin, "Watch what you say about one of men that raised me Hyūga."
The girl walked towards Raiura, only to stop when Mikoto growled, "I'm Tenten, I'm sorry about the behavior of my teammate."
Raiura shrugged her hands dropping, "I'm used to it, honestly... Me and Neji grew up around each other since I'm friends with his cousin," Raiura looked to her teammate, "Come on guys, we have an exam to pass."
Raiura and her teammates, along with Mikoto and Taka, who was on her shoulder.
Making it to the top of the stairs, Team 7 stopped when a poof of smoke appeared and Kakashi was right in front of them.
"Well, it seem you made it to the right place. You should confident to pass the exam," Kakashi said with an eye smile and his orange book in one hand while his other in a pocket.
"Alright sensei," Sakura said, she twitched, "Don't read that perverted book in front of us." Kakashi just gave another eyes smile make Sakura angrier.
"Is there any advice you can give us?" Sasuke asked.
Kakashi ruffled Sasuke's black hair, making the Uchiha scowl and slap his hand, "All I will give you is that not everything is as it may seem to be." With that Kakashi disappeared in another poof and Team 7 walked through the door label '301'.
Inside, Raiura was suddenly hugged, making Taka have to get of her shoulder and Mikoto gave a small jump in surprise. Raiura saw sandy blonde hair and smiled when smiled when she recognized it was Temari, then she realized that her fellow blonde was squeezing her a little too hard.
She gently patted Temari's back, "Temari-san... Can't breath... let go... please..."
Temari quickly let go and grinned, "So this is your team huh."
"Apologies for my sister, Raiura, she got excited when she saw, it has been a week or so since we last spoke," Gaara gave a gently pet to Mikoto as Taka landed back on Raiura's shoulder, all be it a little shakily.
"Where your rude brother?" Sakura asked.
"He sulking over there in the corner. Don't really know why," Temari said as she pointed head in the direction of her brother, who was in the corner of the room.
"Good luck on the exams Raiura. Sasuke-san. Sakura-san," with that, Gaara and Temari walked off back to Kankuro.
"Sasuke-kun!"
A yell rang through and Ino jumped on to Sasuke's back, she was quickly shoved of by Sasuke who scowled at the pale blonde.
"Troublesome, so your here too," Shikamaru drawled out before looking down at Mikoto, "A wolf? Seriously."
Raiura chuckled, "She quite tamed, you can pet her." Mikoto get out a small purr as Shikamaru scratched behind her ear, before quickly turning her head and growling in a different direct. The slowly forming group looked to see Team 8.
"Well, looks like everyone is here," Kiba said with a smug grin, "To bad, I'm going to win."
"Be quiet Kiba," Hinata said with a sickly sweet smile, "Raiura-chan, how are you?"
Raiura nodded, "I'm great... how are you and how is your team?"
"I'm wonderful," Hinata said, "The team is okay, but Kiba is just too loud."
Raiura laughed, "Same as the Academy it seems."
"You should draw so much attention to yourself," a voice whispered. Raiura turn around to see a man with white hair and glass.
"Who asked you to give you opinion?" Sakura question.
Kabuto raised his hands in surrender, "I didn't mean anything like that. I just said that because everyone is staring at you and I thought as a fellow Konoha Ninja I should help you," he gestured to his left, "Just take a look." Raiura looked to the row tables of the classroom to see almost everyone staring at them, she felt her eyebrow twitched.
"What're you staring at, just mind your own business," Raiura shouted before turning back to her group.
"Shut up maggot!" Another shout came as a a man with two scars on his face, going diagonal to the right and up, walked in, he wore his hitai-ate so it would cover the top of his head. Raiura recognized him as Ibiki, Anko had talk bit about him, she was pretty sure that the purplette had a crush on the man. She had also met the man on occasions that Anko brought a colleague with her.
"Alright, I going to give you all a random number and your going to sit where that number is," Ibiki shout and order, everyone rushed over to get handed their number before going to said seat. The numbers were all randomize so it was just by change Raiura was seated next to Hinata on her right and Gaara in the seat behind her. She paid attention as Ibiki shouted the rules (A/N: If your a Naruto fan and have read multiple fanfictions you should know the rules).
The Chūnin protector that was seated next to the row Raiura was on was surprised to Raiura noticed the genjutsu over her paper. He guessed that since she had a bijū sealed inside her that it happen often. He was confused why she had the wolf that seemed to follow her sleep near him at the end of the row, but she kept the purple hawk on her shoulder. He couldn't possible know if she could only understand the hawk and not the wolf, but that was his best guess.
The wolf had an interesting marking on her forehead and had always kept one eye on him and the other closed. There was no marking of this wolf being an ninken of Konoha, same with the hawk. Was in a summon? Last he remembered, Hatake Sakumo had the Wolf SUmmon Contract. Perhaps her sensei, Hatake Kakashi, he had heard, let her sign the contract, if so, what of the hawk, it was rare for someone to sign a contract, let along two.
There a few teams that were forced out for being caught cheating. A team from Suna, one from Iwa, one from Kiri, two for Kusa, two from Oto, and two from Konoha. The blonde was one of the first people that finished first, perhaps she was really a genius as her sensei, Iruka, always boasted. Eventually, the hour ended and it was time for the tenth question. Two more Konoha teams and a team from Hoshi were out. Then the blonde said something was extremely inspiring.
"I rather risk it and face the failure than, leave scared because theirs a chance that I could be chūnin. Somethings we have to take chance even if its risky."
The chūnin smirked, this kid had a key trait of a potential chūnin and she also encouraged the others in the room to not leave. Before Ibiki could continue, a back ball burst through the window to reveal a banner that said 'The Sexy And Single Matarashi Anko'.
