Steve, a young miner, is mostly content with his life the way that it is. Things get bad when he encounters a strange individual by the name of Herobrine while out mining, and get worse when he's chosen to become a "champion" for his village, sending him on a journey. Suddenly, he finds his understanding of the world around him shifting rapidly, though, maybe that's a good thing.

When the conflict between Skyblock and the Antarctic Empire had dragged on long enough without showing any sign of either nation being defeated, a truce was struck. Such were the circumstances that led to Phil taking custody of Technoblade: skilled warrior, revered tactician, and current political hostage.
