Hours later Rinne arrives in Japan, far from those that didn't want her and promptly panicked, she had no idea where to go from there or even how to live on her own, all she knew was the abuse that she had suffered daily by her parent's hands as she slowly left the airport terminal.
Though now that she was finally here, Rinne realized that she had no idea what to do now and felt the beginnings of a panic attack and if that wasn't bad enough tears were starting to brim in her eyes and she felt faint until a hand latched itself on her shoulder and shook her gently "Are you alright" a voice rasped in her ear.
Like this person wasn't use to speaking "I'm fine" Rinne murmured quietly, but the person holding onto her didn't appear to believe her when she was turned to face the one currently speaking to her and she found that it was a boy her age with striking purple hair that stuck out in every which direction there was and deep purple eyes.
"Clearly you're not, come on breath with me, in one, two, out, one, two" the boy rolled his eyes, trying to help though Rinne had no idea why as she attempted to match her breathing with this strange boy, surprisingly the panic in her faded and she was able to calm down properly.
Rinne still had no idea what she was supposed to do now or even where she could go "Thank you" Rinne whispered softly, trying not to let the panic overwhelm her again as her shoulder was finally released and the boy took a step back giving her space.
"Don't mention it, I've got to get going, it was nice meeting you" and without ever getting to know the name of her hero he was gone and Rinne was once again on her own, somehow though after wandering for hours, stomach growling at the lack of food, she found someone to talk to.
Someone who thankfully understood the horrible situation she was in, of being unable to return to the states and found Rinne a small apartment and part-time job to live in until UA entrance exams, which would be in ten months, for now, though she studied and practiced with her quirks when she could.
Unfortunately, Rinne never did see her purple haired hero again, though she'd hoped and searched for him at every opportunity that presented itself to her, in between work and practice, she could now fly a little higher than before without getting sick, the time before the entrance exam ticked down quickly.
On that important day, Rinne was a bundle of nerves, she was so nervous that she could barely eat breakfast, something simple that she could whip up after reading cooking books so that she wouldn't starve, considering she'd never been allowed to do anything, lest her parents beat her for it.
But in spite of the nerves, Rinne found herself crowded into a room with countless other UA hopefuls, to take the first of two tests, the first being a written exam, the questions were fairly easy, only after months of studying of course and soon everyone was being led to the exam areas.
It was there that Rinne met her purple haired hero again, who blinked at her with wide purple eyes "Never did I think I would see you again, especially here" he said, running a hand through his hair, dark bags underneath his eyes as he spoke in that deep rasping voice.
Near instantly tears flooded Rinne's eyes "I tried looking for you everywhere, I wanted to thank you so much for helping me" she whispered, tone full of emotion as the boy continued to stare wide eyed, especially after her statement of gratitude.
"Why it's not like I did anything worth being thanked for" he grunted in a harsh tone, though when the girl flinched and brought her hand up to her face, the other wrapping around her stomach in a protective way, he immediately regretted it afterwards.
"B..Because out of everyone, the only person who bothered too stop and help me was you, I...I'm Rinne Kuroyami if you wanted to know" Rinne stuttered a bit, unable to keep her gaze locked with those dark violets any longer, that's why she didn't notice when the boy stepped closer.
Due more to the fact that he could barely hear her than any other reason to be honest "Hitoshi Shinsho and yeah, I suppose, it's still not anything to really thank me over" Hitoshi snorted softly, actively avoiding speaking to the girl, Rinne, harshly this time.
She lifted her head then and let out a little squeak upon seeing how close Hitoshi was, the only times she'd had anyone this close before was her parents and it never ended well, being in their space "I... I think the t..test is about to start" Rinne blurted.
Jumping back a bit to gain a bit of distance "Normally I wouldn't offer this to anyone, but your nice, want to team up, there is nothing against the rules that suggest we can't, we'd work better as a team anyway especially with those wings of yours" Hitoshi suggested.
Wondering if this was his chance to make a friend that wouldn't be biased because of his quirk "S..Sure we can do that" Rinne whispered in that meek voice of hers, a little surprised by what happens next as Hitoshi reached out and pulled her in close.
And she went completely rigid against his side, just as a buzzer sounded and Present Mic's voice came over the intercom speakers indicating that the test had begun "There Rinne" Hitoshi gestured as he saw one of the robots and he had to admit when he saw her fly, soft pink feathers ruffling as she pulled one to manipulate into a weapon.
That all he felt was awe, though Hitoshi did realize rather quickly that his own quirk was ill-suited to fighting these robots and he had no support items to help him fight, but watching her was breathtaking as she soared through the arena, taking down a handful of robots all on her own.
Imagine, not just his surprise though when Rinne saved a couple of other test-takers after they were injured and a soft but sweet tune escaped her mouth, the judges watched on with awe as the injuries became nearly nonexistent before she was off taking down another robot and helping anyone that she could.
Hitoshi couldn't even bring himself to be mad when at the end, he hadn't managed to get a single point "H..Hey what happened ba..back there Shinso-san, y..you said we were going to work together" Rinne landed before him, speaking in a timid but breathless voice from all the fighting she had done.
"Yeah, sorry about that, but I realized halfway that my quirk wasn't exactly compatible with this test and I'm not a physical fighter, I showed off a little, but the best I can hope for right now is to get into the General Ed department and work my way to the hero course class" Hitoshi rubbed the back of his neck.
Unsurprisingly it was rather easy to speak with her and again there was no judgement from Rinne as he explained what his quirk was "Mu..Must have been tough growing up...I know that feeling" Rinne nodded in a totally understanding way to his confusion.
Making him wonder as they parted ways after exchanging numbers of course, he wasn't about to let his friend, ~it was still a little odd to think that way~, leave without having a way to get in contact with her again after all and throughout the next week, he and Rinne texted back and forth frequently as they waited to find out the verdict.
