For the next couple of weeks things were fairly normal, Uraraka still tried to stir up trouble for Rinne, but many of class 1-A were starting to get tired of her bullshit, all the while Rinne continued to get closer to Fumikage and Dark Shadow who'd started showing himself to the pink haired girl.

Though Rinne should have known the peace wouldn't last forever when her class was informed about a training trip and dread instantly filled her, "Kuroyami are you feeling sick" Aizawa-sensei asked when he dismissed his students to prepare for their trip.

Having noticed the young heroine in training grow pale "Y..yes a little bit sensei" Rinne nodded quietly, every instinct telling her that something dangerous was ahead of them, Shota frowned, almost certain that she'd been fine up until he'd told them about their trip.

"If your still not well by the time we get there, I'll let you sit out, I don't need you passing out in the middle of training understand" Eraserhead sighed, hoping that he would get answers to the strange occurrence as Rinne rushed out of the classroom after her classmates and nearly slammed into Oboro yet again.

Who chuckled but moved easily out of her way "Good thing I'm tagging along this time, Recovery Girl wants Kuroyami to help with any light scrapes or injuries that might occur during training" Oboro announced, eager to watch the kids practice with their quirks.

Shota wasn't paying Oboro much attention however, instead thinking on Rinne's reaction to the news of the training trip, much later on however he wished he'd paid attention to what had clearly been an instinctual reaction when the USJ was attacked by a new terrorist group called the League of Villains.

And they even had a warp quirk user in their ranks "Thirteen get the students out of here" Aizawa grit his teeth, activating his quirk and rushing head long into battle with Oboro at his side on his signature cloud of course when he heard his students screaming in fear, he realized the villain with the warp quirk had slipped past him in his distraction.

Elsewhere after throwing himself in her direction Fumikage found himself alone with Rinne in the conflagration zone, the worst place for both of them to have ended up in unfortunately "We h..have to get out of here Fumikage" Rinne turned to him with tears in her verdant eyes.

Panic plain to see on her face "Come on let's go" Fumikage held out his hand, not letting on how relieved he felt when she took it and he began to lead them out of the dangerous zone full of fire, well that was his plan until the two of them were attacked by some villains.

Unfortunately, it took one wrong move on his part, one of them had managed to land a punch to his shoulder and he definitely heard something snap but it was too late, the villain had gotten by him and pushed Rinne into the fire and her beautiful wings burst into flames.

Jade orbs locked with faded crimson just as the heat breached her hero costume, Fumikage would never forget that agonizing scream that came out of her mouth for the rest of his life, every hair on his body stood on end it was that horrific to hear before remembering himself as he rushed forward, pulling his cloak off his shoulders.

Rinne was still screaming as he attempted to put out the flames, tears evaporating as quickly as they formed or trekking wet paths down her cheeks until her scream died down "Fumikage I heard screaming" Mezo Soji arrived on scene seconds after Rinne had passed out.

Giving Fumikage a minute to check on the damage to her back, it was honestly awful "Can you carry her Soji" he asked tying his cloak around Rinne, Soji was hesitant to touch his classmate having seen how she flinched whenever someone attempted to.

But he couldn't leave her there either as Tokoyami checked on the villains he'd been fighting, to find them in equally unconscious states and he had to wonder if it wasn't because of Rinne's second quirk, Hitoshi had said it was voice activated, perhaps in extreme circumstances under duress Rinne could cause the enemy to pass out.

He dared not breath a word about her second quirk though, as the pair of them began trekking through the fire zone with Rinne tucked safely away in Soji's dupli-arms "TOKOYAMI, SOJI, KUROYAMI WHERE ARE YOU KIDS" half way to the entrance of the USJ, they could hear Shirakumo-sensei yelling their names.

And they hurried to meet up with him, though when they did Oboro took one look at Rinne and had to cover his mouth lest he be sick "Was...Was it Kuroyami who screamed earlier" he asked, already knowing the answer, everyone had heard it after all.

Fumikage clenched his hands into fists but nodded "I let my guard down, one of the villains managed to dislocate my shoulder and push her into the flames of the conflagration zone" Tokoyami explained, going into further detail when Shirakumo-sensei pressed him for more details.

"Come on you two, the league retreated, they got frightened off by her scream if you can believe it" Oboro sighed, first his friend and now Kuroyami as well, this wasn't good, Hizashi was going to be enraged as he led the way to the entrance, where Present Mic stood.

Immediately at the sight of Rinne his face twisted into an expression of horror "The ambulance is over there, get yourselves checked out by the paramedics as well Tokoyami, Soji" Hizashi informed, pointing the boys in the direction of the ambulance.

Knowing he couldn't just worry about his ward, all of the students were important "Excuse me Present Mic, we'll have to call Miss Kuroyami's parents about this incident" Detective Tsukauchi approached the pro-hero as police escorted the various thugs the league had brought with them that day out of the USJ in handcuffs.

"Sorry Tsukauchi but there's no getting in contact with those two, here I'm her legal guardian, they didn't fight it, just gave up custody when asked" Hizashi sighed, handing the detective a card with his number on it, in case he had more questions to ask later.

Before wandering over to the ambulance that carried Eraserhead and Rinne "Are you riding with them" the paramedic asked when he climbed in the back, seating himself between the injured duo, Oboro frowned but formed his cloud to follow the ambulance to the hospital.

While the students were sent home for the day, there was just one tiny little problem, Hitoshi, who for the rest of the day and throughout the night attempted to get in contact with his friends until finally, Fumikage answered his damn phone just as he realized to his horror, he'd forgotten to tell Hitoshi what had happened.

The next day the boys met up in front of the hospital that Rinne was currently staying at "She's still unconscious, but I don't see the harm in letting you come up and visit her" Hizashi greeted, looking tired, he'd been switching between Shota and Rinne's rooms all night.

"Do...Do you think her wings will grow back Yamada-sensei" Hitoshi asked, following his homeroom teacher into the elevator, Tokoyami hot on his heels as they went up several floors before arriving to a crowded lobby, Hizashi shook his head tiredly, deflecting questions from the media.

Who were then blocked from following them down the hall to the patient's wing "As to your question Hitoshi, Kuroyami is surprisingly resilient, her wings are already growing back, but the process is painful and well that's why she's still out" Present Mic confessed.

Rinne had actually woken up in the middle of the night, but the minute her eyes had snapped open, her quirk had begun to repair itself, she'd doubled over, clawing at her back as she screamed from the pain, the doctors had, had to sedate her unfortunately and Oboro had, had to leave at that point.

Hitoshi clenched his hands into fists, preparing to see his friend in an awful state, but upon entering the room, he saw that she was resting peacefully on her stomach to accommodate the regrowth of her wings "I'll give you two some alone time with her, I've got to check on Eraserhead" Hizashi announced.

In spite of how he currently felt, he couldn't help but feel proud of his student and Tokoyami as they took up positions on either side of Rinne and held her hands gently in their own, asking despite knowing she couldn't answer if they could.

Before he forced himself from the room and a little further down the hall where Shota had been placed, "Hizashi, I thought it would be a while before you could get away from Kuroyami, how is she" Aizawa asked, awake fortunately and in less pain because Recovery Girl had visited him.

"Shinso-kun and Tokoyami-kun came to visit, I didn't want to get in the way if anything embarrassing came out, you know how boys that age are Sho, and not good, doctors think it could be a good month or so before her wings are fully regrown and capable of flight again" Hizashi explained.

Aizawa hissed through his teeth, itching to get up and check on his student "We should have never gone, I don't know how Hizashi, but just before we left, right after the trip was announced, Kuroyami got sick to her stomach, I should have known it was a sign, an ill omen as it were" he sighed.

"Come on Eraser, it was probably just coincidence" the blonde shook his head, but Shota was certain he was correct, and since there was no changing his mind, Hizashi relented and changed the topic, after about an hour though, he stood to get back to his ward.

Though Present Mic was definitely surprised when he returned to the other room and found Hitoshi and Fumikage with their heads resting on the bed sound asleep, little snores escaping their mouths as they rested, and he couldn't find it in himself to disturb them quite yet.

Oboro returning kind of derailed his plan a bit as the boys jolted awake, releasing Rinne's hands like they were on fire before turning their heads in sync and glaring at the loudmouth, Hizashi chuckled under his breath while Oboro placated the boys, before they all turned as one when a soft sigh escaped Rinne's mouth.

Until her eyes began to flutter open "Hey Rinne" Hitoshi greeted, his deep purple meeting her peridot's first, tears immediately flooded her eyes and she reached out blindly for his hand "Hey it's okay, you're gonna be okay" he soothed, the action easy after weeks of doing it.

"F..Fumikage" Rinne coughed, voice rough from her screaming and possible smoke inhalation, reminding Present Mic that he hadn't had a chance to tell her anything, before he could though, Fumikage rounded the bed, arm in a sling but otherwise okay to her relief "I..I'm sorry I cou..couldn't help you Fumi" she rasped out.

Sounding worse than Hitoshi on one of his good days "You have nothing to apologize for, neither of us are at fault for what happened" Fumikage was quick to shake his head, accepting Rinne's hand next when she released Hitoshi and reached for him.

"W..Was there anyone else hurt" Rinne asked, angling her head in just the right way to see Present Mic and Loud Cloud in the hospital room with her, Hitoshi and Fumikage, more tears escaped her eyes when Hizashi told her Aizawa-sensei had been hurt as well.

Other than that, the rest of her classmates had escaped with minor injuries, basically some cuts and bruises "You won't be able to work for a while Kuroyami or stay in your apartment" Hizashi finally announced, hating to upset her but the truth was, he couldn't or rather wouldn't let Rinne out of his sight again so soon.

Even though he could see the objection, Rinne just nodded quietly before Hitoshi and Fumikage were shooed out of her hospital room so that she could rest some more, the agony she'd felt that morning had faded into a dull ache as a feather regrew every 3 minutes or so.

Thankfully a few days later after a couple more visits from her friends Rinne was released from the hospital at the same time as Aizawa-sensei, his arms still bound in casts unfortunately before remembering he had something to prove to his friend "Kuroyami" Eraserhead called.

Having followed Oboro out of the hospital, the pairs splitting up in different directions but not so far apart that Rinne couldn't hear his call "Right before we left, when you got sick, can you tell me why" Aizawa-sensei asks and Hizashi rolled his eyes at how his friend was still stuck on what was surely nothing more than coincidence.

So, imagine to his shock when Rinne actually confirmed what Shota had been thinking "That there was danger ahead, I can't explain it, it was just something instinctual" Rinne confessed quietly and Present Mic signed that to Aizawa rapidly.

Ignoring the no doubt smug look sent his way for being right "Fine okay so not a coincidence, let's go Kuroyami, we still have to pack up your things, make a stop at your work and visit the office of your apartment to let them know you won't be there for a while and leave money for rent and bills" Hizashi sighed.

Ready for a good long nap at this point, though he didn't regret taking on the role of guardian, he was pretty sure she wasn't looking forward to staying with him quite yet as he gestured her into his vehicle and shut the door before hurrying to the drivers-side.

Fortunately, it didn't take long to sort everything out, before Rinne was settling in his extra bedroom in his comfortable two-bedroom, two-bathroom house "I'll leave my door open okay little listener so don't hesitate to call out if you need anything" Hizashi announced, when it was time for bed after a late dinner.

"Alright" Rinne nodded her head, "O..Oh you never did say if I had too stop my apprenticing with Re... Recovery Girl as well Yamada-sensei" she asked when it was clear she was done eating and couldn't stuff another bite into her mouth as she stood to wash her plate.

Her guardian was having none of that however and quickly ushered her back into her seat at the table "No work for you period Kuroyami at least for a while, so yes it's on hold like your part-time job back in town" Hizashi nodded, eventually sending the kid to bed when Rinne stubbornly tried to stay awake.

But exhaustion was the devil in disguise, he wasn't immune to it either as he quickly succumbed to blissful sleep, ready to get some proper rest, Hizashi should have known better though when around five in the morning, a scream echoed through the house.

Present Mic knew exactly who it was as he leaped out of bed and ran across the hall to find Rinne tossing and turning, hands beating at her sensitive wings as if she were trying to put out a fire "Kuroyami it's just a nightmare, Kuroyami...Rinne, you're alright" Hizashi called.

Carefully gripping her hands in one of his own and attempting to coax the girl awake until her thrashing slowed and her eyes cracked open "Yamada-sensei" Rinne coughed, he was quick to release her hands, then reach out to the glass of water on the bedside table.

"Small sips Kuroyami, I can't imagine your throat can take much more screaming, so if you want to avoid nightmares, think I will not dream of bunnies and keep repeating that little listener" Hizashi instructed gently, humming something under his breath to help calm her down further.

As she slowly drank her water, brows furrowed at the absurd request, "There you go little listener, keep repeating that okay" he smiled, watching her drift off to sleep, catching her glass before it slipped from her hand entirely as he helped to lay her back down on the bed.

He thanked himself for small miracles when after he'd gone back to bed and Rinne managed to sleep peacefully through the rest of the night, despite him only being able to get a couple more hours of sleep, it was more than he'd gotten in the last several days.

Just as he was preparing breakfast, the guest he'd invited knocked on his door "Hey thanks for doing this, Nemuri, Kuroyami's still asleep but when she wakes breakfast is in the oven" Hizashi thanked his friend and fellow pro-hero Midnight for coming to keep an eye on his ward while he was gone teaching.

Rinne hadn't been cleared to return to class yet, which meant she had to stay and he wasn't about to leave her alone "No problem I'll make sure that sweetie gets lots of rest and food" Nemuri Kayama informed shooing the blonde away before heading in to check on her charge for the day.

It was hours later, during the lunch break at UA that Rinne finally woke, mostly due to her phone going off "Hello" she murmured in a groggy voice as she pried her eyes open "Hitoshi" Rinne smiled hearing his voice in all it's deep rasping glory.

"Yamada-sensei said to eat something if you hadn't already, he'd call himself but well he's a little busy" Hitoshi informed, not minding that he was basically playing the part of messenger for his sensei, Rinne was his best friend at this point.

"Okay" Rinne answered, intending to stand when the door was flung open and she let out a scream, phone slipping from her hand as she covered her head, squeezing her eyes shut until she felt a gentle pressure on her shoulder "M..Midnight-sensei" she breathed.

Easily recognizing the woman in civilian wear rather than her usual questionable hero costume "That's right sweetie, I heard you talking so I figured you were awake, did Hizashi not tell you that I'd be here keeping an eye on you while he was gone to school" Nemuri frowned.

Prompting the girl to shake her head "Yamada-sensei was pretty tired, it prob... probably slipped his mind" Rinne was quick to defend her guardian, who'd been nothing but nice and had even helped her last night when she'd had a nightmare, followed by oddly dreaming of rabbits until she'd woken.

"Very well, here you dropped this...stay in bed I'll bring you something to eat sweetie" Nemuri smiled kindly, wondering if the little cutie would end up with Hitoshi or Fumikage in the end, both boys doted on the girl and it didn't go unnoticed by their classmates in either 1-A or 1-C.

"W..What if I have to go to the bathroom or want to shower" Rinne pouted cutely after having assured Hitoshi that she was alright, just startled for the most part because she hadn't expected anyone else to be there before he'd hung up, after promising to make Fumikage call her later.

Nemuri smiled and relented to the requests "But once you're done you must stay in bed, your body does need rest still Rinne-chan" Midnight-sensei reminded gently, even going so far as to help Rinne up off the bed and into the bathroom.

When she returned twenty minutes later Rinne was seated on the bed with pillows piled behind her back, carefully positioned to avoid putting pressure on her still regrowing wings "Did Yamada-sensei cook" Rinne blinked at the pile of food on the plate as it was sat on a tray in front of her.

"Sure did hun, now eat, it's okay if you can't finish it all, we aren't expecting that right away, just eat what you can" Nemuri instructed, Rinne obliged with minimal hesitation this time, because she was actually hungry and she didn't want to cause Yamada-sensei any more trouble.

Eventually when there was half of the food left from that morning's breakfast her stomach rebelled at the thought of eating anymore and carefully pushed the tray away, Midnight took that as her cue to take it away while Rinne lay back to try and get some sleep.

Again, oddly dreaming of bunny-rabbits until she was gently nudged awake hours later "Hey, I believe Tokoyami will be calling you soon, do you think you're up to eating right now" it was Yamada-sensei, Kayama-sensei nowhere to be seen now that Rinne's guardian was back to take care of her, himself.

"U..Um I actually still feel rather full from earlier...I..I'm sorry Yamada-sensei" Rinne confessed, but Present Mic was quick to assure her that it was okay, she could eat later if she wanted, just as she received another phone call, it was Fumikage like promised and she happily chatted to her friend for the next twenty minutes until he had to go.

For another two days Rinne was pretty much glued to her bed in Hizashi's house while the occupants tried to catch up on sleep or basically recover until the girl was cleared by the doctor to attend class again, which also meant Hizashi sat her down at the kitchen table to talk about things going forward.

"Do you want to return to your apartment and part-time job little listener" Hizashi asked, inwardly hoping she would agree to stay full-time, it had been nice having a kid to take care of for once, but he knew Rinne wasn't ready for that when she nodded her head eagerly.

That wasn't to say the two hadn't bonded during their time sharing a living space and Rinne knew at this point that she could go to Yamada-sensei about anything "Could I stay on the weekends, I... I'm sure they won't mind if I drop the Saturday shift" Rinne requested.

It was a start thankfully to building her trust up from where that trust had once been completely nonexistent "Sure little listener" Hizashi grinned then, tussling the kid's hair gently and she bat his hands away carefully, a quiet squeal of indignation escaping her mouth before she rushed away to the bedroom that would be permanently hers someday.
