And finally another chapter here!
This one is pretty important though.
You'll see why with the title.
Chaotic Union! Return of the White Knight!
Somewhere in the Digital World, on a mountain range somewhere around the northern part of Server, a hidden base was nestled in the mountainside, one of the many bases used by the Resistance to set up footholds in areas that the King's forces were slowly starting to occupy, while also defending areas that didn't agree to the King's plans...but were attacked anyway by the Extremist Factions of King's Forces. Sadly this also led to some of the Resistance taking a more and more...harsh...stance regarding the King's Army as a whole. Among them was the cell currently manning the base.
"Tch! Another area submitted to the King. Cowards," a Digimon that looked like he was perpetually hunched over and made out of stone, with ropes and pins holding him together, a metal helmet on his skull, snarled as he was busy going over the data.
"It is unavoidable, Golemon sir. One way or another, many areas favor the safety that the King promises over conflict," a Guardromon frowned as he was gathering more data and analyzing it.
"Annoyingly so yes." Golemon growled.
Digimon Analyzer: Golemon
Golemon. Virus Type. An Adult Level Mineral Digimon. A Digimon discovered after computers analyzed an ancient curse, with forbidden incantations carved onto his back. The fumes coming out of his body tend to be toxic to most weaker Digimon. Special attack is Curse Crimson, shooting off superheated bursts of fumes from either the holes on his back or from his mouth.
"The Chosen Children aren't much help either," a Digimon that looked like a Kokatorimon but with red feather tips, said from the side, kicking his feet a bit. "They don't see the King as the threat he should be. If we could just prove how dangerous he is, they'd definitely take him out easier than the Dark Masters," he grumbled.
"...but the King isn't as bad as the Dark Masters, Akatorimon," Guardromon said dryly.
"Not yet at least." Golemon frowned "He may be calm now, but once he's taken control of enough territory, I'm sure he'll turn out just as bad as they were. You know what they say about absolute power after all."
"Fair enough," Guadromon nodded, before his eyes narrowed. "Receiving emergency transmission. This frequency...it's the special frequency."
"So our insider then? Put it on the screen," Golemon ordered.
Nodding, Guadromon did that and his eyes started projecting an image on one of the walls, revealing a shadowed figure, the only visible details being a wide brimmed hat, and a gloved hand playing with silver hair "I have some new information for you." the figure said in a woman's voice. "It pertains to a new weapon the King is developing and one you will be quite interested to hear."
Golemon grinned eagerly at that. "Go on. We're listening," he said.
A couple of days later…
A facility in a desert area had been set up, the walls reinforced, and the perimeter checked and secured. Inside the facility, within a circular room that was reinforced as well, was a greyish purple wolf shaped Digimon, bat wings around his neck and covering his eyes, blades replacing his feet.
"All systems are normal, and the test area is secure," came the King's voice as he was standing in an area overlooking the test sight, protected by a screen of reinforced glass. "Are you ready, Sangloupmon?"
"Ready anytime, my king," the Digimon, Sangloupmon nodded.
Digimon Analyzer: Sangloupmon
Sangloupmon. Virus Type. An Adult Level Demon Beast Digimon. Despite being a blood sucking Digimon, he acts with nobility, and treats everyone with respect befitting of their he does suck the blood of his opponents, he does so in full, not leaving a single trace of them behind and absorbing all of their knowledge, to show them a form of respect. Special attack is Sticker Blade, flinging thousands of tiny blades from his feet at the opponent.
The King nodded before turning to a nearby console of which Lopmon and an almost identical Digimon but with white fur and green highlights, having only a single horn, a Terriermon, gave thumbs ups (or what passed for those for them) and pushed the levers they were manning. Back in the test area, a section of the wall opened and from it came a mechanical arm that was holding what appeared to be a Crystal Ring, but rather than a ring...it was a spiral that would make it look more like an arm band or something.
"Crystal Spiral test number 1," the King recited into a recording machine. "Despite the recent unauthorized operation, it did gleam an interesting effect. Though unstable, it seems it is possible to compound the boost effects of a Crystal Ring. Assuming all goes as planned, this SHOULD allow for a greater yet still stable boost in power," he said as the machine soon slid the Spiral onto Sangloupmon's front right leg. "Prepare for Crystal Spiral activation in 3...2…" he started as he'd moved to another console to control the activation. But before he could finish, an explosion was heard, shaking the entire complex and causing the entire room to shake, causing him to lose balance...and activate the Spiral...and also set the power to maximum. FAR beyond the level he'd theorised was the maximum energy level for a safe activation.
At the same time, the ground exploded, revealing Golemon and his group, as well as a Drimogemon. "It's over, false King! Surrender now or…" Golemon trailed off as he saw Sangloupmon spasming from the excess power he was suddenly taking in from the Crystal Spiral before…
Sangloupmon screamed in agony as the energy tore through him before his body violently shifted and grew and before long he'd Evolved, revealing a large Digimon with a centaur type body, the lower half covered in dark fur with large clawed feet, a tail of blonde hair at the back and large mouths on the front haunches, large bat wings on its back, while the upper half looked like a man wearing a dark, skintight outfit, belts around his waist, wings coming down from over his shoulders to cover his upper torso, a dark blue mask of some kind covering his upper face but exposing his mouth full of sharp teeth, horns coming out of his head along with long blonde hair.
"T-that's a GranDracmon! What's an Ultimate doing here?!" Akatorimon gasped in alarm.
Digimon Analyzer: GranDracmon
GranDracmon. Virus Type. An Ultimate Level Demon Beast Digimon. A Digimon considered to be the vampire king, he is apparently powerful enough to take on a certain group of Digimon with matching strength. He (normally) has a gentlemanly demeanor, with enough charm that he can tempt even some of the most virtuous angel Digimon into falling. Special attacks are Crystal Revolution, freezing his enemies solid, and Gorgon's Eye, enslaving his enemies to the darkness within their hearts.
"Is this what the new weapon was planned for?! I knew it, you ARE insane!" Golemon snarled, looking at where the King was...not once noticing just how stunned the King himself was as well at what had happened. A feeling that only grew when GranDracmon roared, and started...inhaling...right as several more Digimon entered in the chaos. Not ready in the least, they were suddenly lifted off their feet and pulled into the suction, screaming as they were absorbed into GranDracmon.
"No! Stop it!" The King shouted, trying to initiate the fail safes, even trying to shut down the Crystal Spiral, but to his horror, the systems that he'd checked and double checked weren't responding.
"I think we've been sabotaged!" Lopmon said as one of the consoles he and Terriermon had been trying to get to respond blew up.
"Not think. DEFINITELY been sabotaged!" Terriermon amended his twin.
Back in the test area. "You monster!" Golemon roared as he tried to stop GranDracmon, but he was doing very little, even getting pulled in himself. However, being in close proximity with the now out of control Crystal Spiral meant that he was getting some of the energy too, and he let out a roar as his body started growing and changing, his body becoming one of dark stone with a glowing orange core in his stomach, his body being held together by red ropes that were bunched up together tightly enough to look like proper limbs, his left hand becoming a drill surrounded by floating diamonds, and a black coat hanging off his large shoulders.
"And the damn thing leaks power too, of course." The King growled.
"He's evolved all the way to Ultimate into BanchoGolemon." Lopmon said with a frowned.
Digimon Analyzer: BanchoGolemon
BanchoGolemon. Virus Type. An Ultimate Level Mineral Digimon. A Digimon who has obtained the title of 'Bancho', he acts according to his own will, as opposed to most Golemon. While normally a loner who will rarely help others, he will show up to save those with whom he has traded blows. Special attacks are Yobori Claw Drill, impaling the enemy on his huge drill hand, and Kanshaku Dust, firing off a beam from his core that reflects off of surrounding stones, resulting in a large area attack.
"Well, at all things considered it can't get much worse than two unstable Ultimates, right?" Terriermon gulped...and immediately slapped his own mouth shut when he realized what he'd said AND saw the King and Lopmon staring at him in abject horror.
Murphy must have been laughing up a storm at that moment as right after Terriermon said that, GranDracmon manages to get the upper hand and absorb BanchoGolemon...and then everything went to hell in a handbasket, as his body spasmed, becoming unstable, and even the Spiral was developing cracks on itself, before the whole thing practically exploded into data which was reformatting at a rapid rate, a new form coming into being and when the process was done a new Digimon stood in their place. It looked like a thin humanoid being wearing a long coat that was wine red and half stone grey, with large, black bat wings on its back and thin legs that had bat wings resting on the thighs. The top of its coat was unzipped, revealing two cores that seemed to be clashing against each other within, and its head bore a white helmet with a black slit that had a single glowing red eye within. Its right arm had a black shoulder pad, ending in the head of GranDracmon, while its left arm had a navy blue shoulder pad, ending in the head of BanchoGolemon, and when the mouths of the heads opened, they revealed a frozen cannon from the GranDracmon head, and a drill from the BanchoGolemon head.
"You just had to open your mouth dear brother." Lopmon said in worry.
"I'm sorry." Terriermon said, just as worried "I didn't think they'd become a Chaosmon though."
Digimon Analyzer: Chaosmon (GranDracmon/BanchoGolemon Var.)
Chaosmon. Variable Type. Current variant is a Super Ultimate Level Unique Digimon. The result of a failed Jogress Evolution, Chaosmon is the name given to a Digimon that should not exist normally, reflected in the clashing Digicores within its body. Due to its unstable existence, its lifespan is very brief, only lasting hours before facing away into nothingness. This specific variant's special attacks are Bancho Driller, boring through the enemy with the drill on one arm, and Freezing Buster, firing sub zero bursts from the cannon on his other arm.
"Activate ALL safety protocols! We have to neutralize Chaosmon!" the King ordered. At his command a number of defenses and the like activated, aiming to restrain Chaosmon. However there was one teeny tiny problem. When he made the defenses he had only ever anticipated Perfect level at worst. Super Ultimate was completely out of the question. As such destroying the restraints was child's play.
"Hahahaaha! Fall you tyrant! Fall!" the head that represented BanchoGolemon laughed, seemingly ready to aim for the King next, before the arm representing GranDracmon stopped him.
"No! We must aid our King in achieving the world he envisions!" the head declared...and before long it was clear that Chaosmon was quite literally at war with itself. That naturally led to literal infighting which was...tearing the test area apart.
"Everyone evacuate now!" the King ordered, before he, Lopmon, and Terriermon went straight to the escape pod they'd had installed just in case things went catastrophically wrong somehow. Though in their defense, this went so beyond catastrophic in their minds they weren't sure what to call it, a feeling that only intensified when they escaped...JUST in time for the entire facility to blow up, leaving a crater in its place, and a very much still infighting Chaosmon who was soon moving about erratically.
"...this is really REALLY bad," Lopmon eventually summed it up.
"What are we gonna do?" Terriermon asked.
The King sighed, before gaining a serious look on his face "Only one thing we can do."
"Alright… I THINK we're almost to Kuroyuri by now." Gyro said as he looked at the map "Is this right."
"Yeah, we should get there in a few days, meaning the spot where you said Tyrian ambushed us is coming up soon." Jaune said, pointing to an earlier section.
"That was… Oniyuri, right." Gyro nodded "Been so long I didn't remember the name. Qrow caught up to you guys there in canon… should we wait for him and Oscar there after we torch Tyrian if he comes for us?" he wondered.
"You guys know I can just call him, yeah?" Ruby said as she walked by, and the two blondes paused at that… before they both slammed their heads on the table.
"I fucking hate what canon set up, since it geared our heads to one path." Gyro groaned.
"Tell me about it." Jaune groaned as well.
"I think that means call him." Aile stage whispered to Ruby, who laughed a bit before walking off to call Qrow and tell him where they were right now.
A few minutes later…
"Okay, Uncle Qrow said he'll come to meet us at Oniyuri, but I told him to wait till the mushroom cloud and/or big ball of light disappears," Ruby said.
"So he and Oscar/Ozpin are aware we're planning to send Salem one of her followers back in an ashtray?" Pierce checked.
"Pretty much yeah," Ruby nodded. "He sounded a bit disturbed, but then I said if we don't he MIGHT get seriously poisoned and that more or less got him on board."
"Glad that's sorted out. I've already sent out a few scanners that should alert us when Tyrian comes near," Gyro said. "So all we have to do is wait."
"How long do you think it's gonna take?" Agumon asked.
"Eh… we'll give it a few days of wait I guess. I asked Sun to keep an eye on the main chapter of the White Fang in Mistral while we're doing this, so if Adam starts anything while we wait, we can warp over there real quick and handle him." Gyro shrugged.
"Come to think of it, how DID he know to wait for Team RNJR in Oniyuri?" Pyrrha frowned, having found that strange.
"We don't know how he ACTUALLY did it, but the running theory is that Salem probably saw the party through the eyes of the Grimm and told him where they were headed," Pierce shrugged. "Of course, by that logic there's almost no way Salem DOESN'T know where we are seeing as we've been cutting a bloody swath through the Grimm lately."
"Without even leaving the comfort of the world's most comfortable moving bunker sometimes," Yang added with a snort.
"On that note though…" Rusty said, going to one of the windows and flipping off a flying Nevermore, and he had to laugh when it tried to dive bomb them only to get torn to shreds by the turrets. "Yeah… I think she's looking at us and getting annoyed."
"Good, we're gonna do everything we can to make her millenia long tantrum as difficult as possible before we shove her into the Heaven's Gate," Yang said, punching her fist into her palm.
"Again though, let's not get TOO cocky," Hawkmon reminded. "She doesn't know that we know everything, AND have a way to deal with her. As long as that remains, we have an advantage."
"Basically we gotta make our shot count," Tentomon nodded.
"I'm sure we can do it," Penny grinned...before she stopped short.
"Something wrong, Penny?" Monodramon asked his partner in surprise.
And then her eyes started to beep in a repetitive pattern "I… seem to be receiving an S.O.S. signal."
"Huh… yeah, that is a morse code S.O.S." Gyro said, surprised.
"Who's sending it?" Veemon asked.
"Believe it or not, the Digimon King." Penny answered.
Everyone looked at her in surprise at that one. "...okay...that's unexpected," Ren commented.
"But that could be REALLY bad," Weiss frowned.
"If he's asking US for help, then it HAS to be serious," Blake agreed.
"Or it could be a trap, but I think we can all agree that's...not really likely from what we've seen so far," Bemmon commented, earning several nods of agreement.
"Alright then, time for us to pick the team for this one. The opening team will see how things go, and everyone can join in too as needed," Gyro said as they quickly started picking out the starting team, and before long Gyro, Pyrrha, Weiss, Blake, and Penny were gathered in front of the gate with their partners.
"We'll be monitoring things closely from here. Once we know what's so serious the King is asking us for help, we'll all come running," Pierce said, earning nods from the party as they readied their Digivices.
"Digital Gate, open!"
The area the group soon appeared in was a mountain area which meant they had a good view of the area around them. However they didn't spend any time in admiring the view. "Scanning for source of signal now," Penny said as she tried to pinpoint where the SOS she'd received came from, and while she was scanning...an explosion happened in the distance. "Signal came from that direction!" she declared literally a second after the explosion happened.
"...Guess the explosion was faster than your scanner this time," Agumon sweat dropped.
"Well we know where we have to go. Come on!" Weiss said, and seeing as there were no Crystal Towers in the area, they were soon flying on AtlurKabuterimon's back. When they reached the source of the explosion…
"Damn…" Gyro couldn't help but say as the group beheld the sight. It...wasn't pretty. Digimon were strewn about all over the place, all groaning in pain and several bits of data strongly implied that many didn't survive. The broken pieces of Crystal Rings they could see confirmed this was the King's Army, and not just them, but several vehicles and machines were left in pieces as well. In short, they all looked like they'd been subjected to the worst curb stomp of their lives.
"What happened here?" Blake wondered as they started looking around.
"It looks like an Ultimate came stomping through if you ask me." AtlurKabuterimon said before he reverted to Tentomon.
They all heard a groan come from one of the flipped over vehicles after that "Someone's still conscious!" Gabumon said.
"I've got them." Pyrrha said, grabbing onto the vehicle with her semblance and lifting it up before dropping it away, revealing…
"Okay, that's a little unexpected," Patamon blinked, voicing the first thought that came to them all as the person who'd been under the vehicle was the Digimon King himself...looking admittedly not very kingly at the moment what with the fact he looked as battered as his troops to the point he was missing his cloak...revealing a rather limp silver colored wolf tail, and when he slowly pushed himself off the ground, they saw he'd lost his goggles/visor as well letting them see who he really was.
"Is that Oren Joyeaux?" Blake blinked in surprise, remembering the wolf faunus they'd seen on the news a while back.
"What?" the young man's head snapped up, revealing his yellow eyes, before he seemed to notice his glasses were missing, making him sigh "Ah well… I suppose that's not really important right now." he said, before looking around, feeling the sand with his hands "Before we get to business, can you help me find my partners? I think they got buried in the sand." he requested.
"Wait… partners… plural?" Gyro said, before looking at Oren's neck, and his eyes widened as he saw a tag there, one with a silver crest that looked almost like the infinity symbol within "The Crest of Fate…" he said in shock.
"You're the last Chosen Child?!" was the general shocked response at that one...before they calmed down a bit.
"Eh...not as surprising since you're not exactly evil or anything," Monodramon shrugged.
"I understand that this is shocking to you all, but… my partners?" Oren repeated with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, right, sorry man." Gyro said "Eyes closed everyone!" he said as he pulled his goggles down, and thankfully everyone listened, covering their faces completely, before he blasted his semblance down into the sand, kicking up a large cloud of it while blowing a portion away, and walking over to two small rabbit shapes, picking them up before walking to Oren as the dust settled "Here they are."
Oren sighed in relief as he hugged his unconscious partners "Thank goodness… I was worried that Chaosmon had gotten to them."
"Chaosmon?!" came the shocked responses from the Digimon.
"What's a Chaosmon?" Penny asked.
"A failed Jogress Evolution, it's basically an unstable monstrosity that tears apart everything in its path." Tentomon explained.
"Rather fitting for that one." Oren said as he stood up "It was made when a Resistance cell attacked us at a testing site and caused the test for my new Crystal Spiral to go haywire, it caused the volunteer to forcefully evolve into his Ultimate level but start to rampage as he ate every Digimon in his way, then the leader jumped at him and the spiral was apparently leaking power because it made HIM evolve to Ultimate as well, and then the two fused and started going crazy." he explained. "And no, before anyone asks, this was not REMOTELY what I was aiming for. I DID theorise that the extra power MIGHT be able to boost the user to Perfect, but this was completely outside of my calculations," he added with a sigh. "So yeah...I know I'm asking a lot but I need your help to clean up my mess before it levels all of Server..."
"Alright… what level of Digimon are we dealing with here?" Gyro asked.
Oren swallowed nervously "A Super Ultimate…" he said in worry.
A dead silence descended on the group at that one. Eventually…
"Uh...everyone?" Blake gulped into her D-Core.
"We heard that. Coming over now!" came Ruby's frantic voice.
Moments later, a portal appeared near them, with everyone else coming through "We put the RV in lockdown." Keenan said quickly.
"Where's the Super Ultimate?" Falcomon asked.
As if to answer his question, an explosion happened a distance away. "...probably at the center of that explosion…" Oren offered lamely.
"Alright… hopefully 11 Ultimates will be enough to handle it." Gyro said.
"Wait. I WANT to help you." Oren said "I didn't call you just so you could clean up after me, this is equally my problem."
Gyro looked at him in surprise, before smirking a bit "In that case, wake up your partners and we'll feed them till they're good to go."
"I know this isn't the BEST timing, but seeing as we'll be working together AND this is the first time we've had a civil conversation, I feel it would only be right to introduce ourselves," Lopmon said after the group had woken him and Terriermon up...and even provided the with food to refill their energy. "My name is Lopmon, one of Oren's partners alongside my brother here," he said, gesturing to Terriermon...who was too busy munching on a chocolate bar to pay attention.
A small vein appeared on Lopmon's head as he proceeded to elbow Terriermon to catch his attention proper. "Huh? Oh right. I'm Terriermon and the two of us are Oren's partners. Don't ask how that works, it just does," Terriermon said cheerfully.
"I'm STILL going to ask how it happened." Jaune said, looking to Oren.
"They actually hatched from the same Digiegg when I was a kid." he explained with a shrug.
"Huh, so you've had them as long as us." Rusty mused.
"Seems that way," Oren sighed. "At any rate, as much as I'd like to compare life experiences, you'll excuse me for being more focused on the rampaging super monster I've inadvertently created," he said and turned to Terriermon and Lopmon. "Once you two are ready we need to get moving immediately."
"No problem, we know," Terriermon gave a 'thumbs up'
"Not to mention with the two dominant minds are still at war, we're bound to find some form of opening eventually," Lopmon mused.
"Dominant minds?" Aile asked.
"He's probably referring to how a Chaosmon works," Weiss said, having checked the data. "The two 'heads' on its arms are basically the two personalities that are most dominant in the fusion, so they share control of the Chaosmon in question."
"That's correct. As of currently those two personalities are one of my loyal followers, and a Resistance member that basically wants my head on a pike. As such the fusion is very mentally unstable…" Oren frowned.
"He started going coo coo crazy when he attacked earlier though, I can tell you that much." Terriermon said, making the loopy sign with his tiny fingers.
"Right. Let's hope we can handle him then." Pyrrha sighed.
"We have to, or else the Digital World will be in a lot of trouble." Gyro frowned, before turning to everyone "Let's go people! Don't want to give him a chance to screw this up for us!" he said, pulling out his digivice, something everyone copied as they all started to glow.
(Play Brave Heart)
"Agumon!"
"Gabumon!"
"Veemon!"
"Wormmon!"
"Biyomon!"
"Tentomon!"
"Palmon!"
"Gomamon!"
"Patamon!"
"Salamon!"
"Warp Evolution!"
"WarGreymon!/MetalGarurumon!/UlforceVeedramon!/GrandisKuwagamon!/Phoenixmon!/HerculesKabuterimon!/Rosemon!/Vikemon!/Seraphimon!/Mastemon!"
"Falcomon, Biomerge Evolution! Ravemon!"
"Monodramon, Evolution! Strikedramon! Matrix Evolution! Cyberdramon!"
"Hawkmon!/Bemmon! Armor Evolution! Tornamon!/Vanguamon!"
Following the group's lead, Oren pulled out his own D-Core which started glowing brightly as the power flowed into Terriermon and Lopmon at the same time.
The Digivice sent a signal to the sky before a light appeared, sending forth glittering fragments as a waterfall of data began to form. "Terriermon!/Lopmon! Evolution!" both of them called out as they were rotating in place, the waterfalls of data flowing into them which made them spin faster and in a flash they'd both Evolved.
"Gargomon!" Terriermon's new form looked like he had basically physically grown to the size of an adult, his green markings now covering the top of his head and going down his ears, which now ended in white tips rather than the opposite, sporting a few red markings on his cheeks and forehead, a pair of jeans on his legs, an ammo belt around his torso, and his hands turned into gatling guns.
Digimon Analyzer: Gargomon
Gargomon. Vaccine Type. An Adult Level Beast Man Digimon. A hunter Digimon that, despite his appearance, is a skilled sharpshooter and nimble in combat. His legs are strong enough to let him jump high into the sky, and then use his ears to glide down slowly. Special attack is Dumdum Upper, hitting the opponent with a powerful uppercut.
"Turueimon!" Lopmon called out, his form now the same Digimon that fought against Gyro and Greymon a while back.
With everyone gathered, the group immediately flew towards the source of the explosions. The area they found themselves in was in a rocky canyon, and the target of Chaosmon's next attack? A section of the rock which fell away to reveal what looked like a building of sorts carved within the rock wall.
Additionally, they saw a number of Digimon trying to fight back against Chaosmon, fighting in...organized defensive lines along the rocks and some while even still in the building. "Is this...a Resistance Base?" Vikemon asked in surprise.
"Looks like it. I think it's safe to say GranDracmon is in control at the moment," Oren frowned.
"He one of the ones who'd rather see the Resistance gone?" Ren asked with a frown.
"That's a sentiment that sums up most if not everyone working for me. The difference is their definition of 'gone'," Oren sighed.
"Plus they're going insane thanks to the fusion. Whatever inhibitions GranDracmon might have had are probably gone by now," Turuiemon frowned.
"Like I said, he's going crazy," Gargomon added.
"So he's basically acting out on whatever the head in control wants, and since he already smashed up your army…" Mastemon trailed off.
"He's 'satisfied' BanchoGolemon for now," Oren nodded, seeing the train of thought they were going for.
"Either way, we have to stop him fast!" Ruby said, earning nods of agreement from everyone as they entered the fray the best way they knew how. With a barrage of attacks.
The attacks flew through the air, and with Chaosmon distracted by playing Kaiju he literally didn't see them coming as a myriad of attacks hit him, exploding all over, which even with his power level, was enough to at least send him flying in a particular direction, and thus easing off the pressure from the Resistance, something they clearly took notice of. Unsurprisingly there were cheers when they saw the Chosen had arrived...though there were also more than a few sounds of confusion when they noticed the Digimon King was with them. Of course at the end of the day nobody was going to complain about the help seeing as they were up against a CHAOSMON of all Digimon.
The party soon reached the spot Chaosmon had been flung to, but as they got closer…
"Freezing Buster!" a voice called out, forcing them to evade...and good thing too, as the spot where the attack hit was instantly frozen over.
"That's even stronger than mine!" MetalGarurumon gasped at the sight.
"Considering this is a Super Ultimate, that...really shouldn't be a surprise," Pyrrha gulped thickly.
"Speaking of which, looks like that extends to his defenses too," UlforceVeedramon said, as true enough, Chaosmon came into view, and aside from some dust and dirt...he looked basically just fine.
"All that and it did almost nothing. Great…" Pierce groaned, before turning to Gyro and Pyrrha. "I think we might be needing Omegamon again."
"Great idea. Only problem? We STILL don't know how to do that again," Gyro gulped.
"We'll make due. Not the first time we've had to fight enemies outside of our power level," Phoenixmon said as the group renewed their assault, and while the impacts DID manage to push Chaosmon back...they didn't seem to be really hurting him in any significant way.
"C-chosen Children…?! Have you sided with the King?!" Chaosmon asked...the voice sounding more like BanchoGolemon, but it was mixed in with GranDracmon at varying pitches and tones sounding more like some bizarre and really not very well done sound mixer.
"Okay, that doesn't sound good," Ravemon frowned.
"Chaosmon! You need to stop! You're just destroying everything randomly right now!" Gyro shouted at him.
"No! Must destroy Kingdom!" Chaosmon roared...before something bizarre followed. "Must destroy Resistance!" he said immediately contradicting himself and then…
"Kingdom!"
"Resistance!"
"Kingdom!"
"Resistance!"
"...he's arguing with himself, isn't he?" Aile asked with a huge sweat drop.
"It...appears to be so yes…" Penny blinked as the group watched Chaosmon for a few moments and...oh wow...he was actually fighting himself now.
"...I know he's a danger that could level all of Server...but it's REALLY hard to take him fully seriously right now…" Rusty sweat dropped.
"I...don't blame you…" Oren admitted seeing as Chaosmon was now rolling around in the air like you'd expect two people rolling in a fight...only the two opponents were literally in the same body.
"Uh...I think you should stop hitting yourself?" Ruby ventured after a moment.
"Stop hitting myself? Hey, you don't tell me what to do!" Chaosmon declared, before speaking up again. "Yeah, only my lord gets to tell me that...just as soon as I remember who he is!"
"Hey, I said nobody is the boss of me except me!"
"But then who's the boss of me?"
"I am!"
"No you're not!"
"Yes I am!"
"Raaagh!"
Chaosmon was arguing with himself again, and apparently got it into their heads to start using attacks...in wide areas, meaning he was now attacking everything again.
"Looks like diplomacy is out!" Rosemon gasped as they had to evade again.
"I don't think it was ever ACTUALLY on the table!" Vanguamon growled.
"Yeah, I don't think we can reason with this brand of insanity!" Seraphimon agreed.
"Nothing to do but fight then," Tornamon growled.
With that in mind, the group began a new assault. Chaosmon had a lot of power, but with basically 0 control, they were able to more or less weave through the attacks that came, and fired their own attacks when they had an opening. However, even as they scored hit after hit...it wasn't doing NEARLY as much as they needed.
"What is this armor made of?!" Gargomon growled as he emptied clip after clip on Chaosmon.
"Most likely? Chrome Digizoid of a high calibre," Turuiemon frowned.
"We're not even making a dent!" Yang growled as the Hunters who had ranged weapons were busy trying to help however they could, adding their own rounds to the barrage, but it was getting clearer and clearer that while they had managed to keep Chaosmon from moving around, they weren't actually causing the kind of damage they'd need to stop it.
"For a 'failed' fusion, this thing is remarkably strong!" Weiss grumbled in agreement.
"Isn't there anything that can stop this thing?!" Nora gasped as Chaosmon continued to wildly fire, and in the well...chaos...he got lucky and hit the area close to where Oren and his partners were, and while they didn't get a direct hit...the sheer force was enough to send them flying and smashing against some of the rocks, leaving them in a heap as Turuiemon and Gargomon reverted...and they saw the tell tale sign of Oren's aura breaking.
"We'll get him out of here! You focus on making sure this nut job doesn't roast us!" Rusty said as he and Aile rode on their partners to help the downed King.
"You can't defeat me! I am the one who will stand at the top of the world! My drill will pierce the very heavens with its power!" Chaosmon laughed, voice now VERY mixed up.
"Oh my fucking god…" Gyro groaned.
"Even the crazies are doing anime references on us now." Pierce said with a facepalm.
"Well...that one IS iconic I guess…" WarGreymon sweat dropped as he chucked another Gaia Force at the now very much insane Digimon...who proceeded to drill through it like it was nothing. "...can't say he doesn't have SOME grounds to claim that though…"
"Which is REALLy bad for us!" Jaune groaned as Vikemon tried to hit Chaosmon with his Mjolnir, but the weapon was knocked aside, while Seraphimon blasted him with a barrage of Seven Heavens, which seemed to only annoy Chaosmon. While he was distracted though, Mastemon got in close and tried to use Chaos Degrade, and right as it seemed like Chaosmon was about to be sucked in…
"Bancho Driller!" he called out, the drill cutting right through the Chaos Degrade, and the force of the ensuing explosion sent the three pairs closest to him flying back and into the rockside, the Digimon reverting back to Child form in the process.
"We're okay! ...mostly!" Jaune managed to say, despite looking VERY dizzy. THEN the rocks fell on them.
"Everyone!" Ruby gasped in alarm.
"We got them!" UlforceVeedramon shouted as he and Pierce broke off to check on them. Thankfully…
"They're okay! They're a bit out of it, but they'll be okay!" Pierce reported...right before a stray shot from Chaosmon went right for them, UlforceVeedramon blocking them, and was frozen solid almost instantly, the ice soon shattering to reveal a shivering Veemon.
"D-don't know how long w-we'll be though!" Veemon shivered from the flash freeze.
"This is...REALLY bad…" Weiss frowned.
"He's picking us off one by one, so yeah. It's bad," Gyro growled.
"I don't think we have any other options. We have to try and form Omegamon again!" MetalGarurumon said.
"Let's just hope we can figure it out soon!" Pyrrha said as they had to quickly evade the drill again.
"Do what you have to! We'll provide cover!" Cyberdramon shouted as the remaining members of the party were soon positioning themselves in a way to protect the two...just in time too, as a strong shot was heading their way, HerculesKabuterimon did his best to stop it, and while he managed to weaken it...they were still blasted back, Weiss managing to stop hers and Tentomon's fall using her Glyphs but Tentomon was out of the fight now.
"...for as long as we can!" Penny couldn't help but add with a worried look at what just happened.
"That's...not very comforting…" WarGreymon groaned. Sadly that proved to be the case as while they tried to trigger the Jogress Evolution again, the others were fighting a losing battle, as one by one they were all knocked out of the fight, everyone alive, but definitely not going to be able to fight anymore. First it was Penny and Cyberdramon, then it was Ren and GrandisKuwagamon. Rusty and Aile tried to help again, but they and their partners were soon blown away as well. The worst though had to be Ravemon who while not taking the worst hit ever, still took a pretty bad one...and as such Keenan was out cold along with Falcomon when the hit forced them to separate.
Ruby and Yang with their partners were the last ones to get knocked out of the running as they worked together to try and stop a Bancho Drill coming their way, and once again, while they managed to stop the attack, the backlash proved too much, forcing Phoenixmon and Rosemon to revert, their partners quickly using their mobility to get them all to safety, leaving only Gyro, Pyrrha, WarGreymon, and MetalGarurumon.
"...well shit…" Gyro groaned at the rather desperate situation they were left in.
"This is NOT good." Pyrrha said, sweating nervously.
"It's just us now." WarGreymon said with a narrowed gaze as Chaosmon focused on them.
"Let's give it our all." MetalGarurumon nodded.
"Yeah… can't let him rampage any longer." Gyro agreed, before they flew ahead to fight Chaosmon directly.
Weaving around his drill, WarGreymon struck him in the face, before moving away as MetalGarurumon fired his full payload at point blank range, blowing him back before WarGreymon raised his hands high, building up the biggest Gaia Force he could.
"No holding back!" he shouted, before tossing it at Chaosmon, who seemed to be getting pushed down into the ground by it while actually shouting nonsensically, the minds of the two Digimon that made him up seemingly gone to madness now.
"Think this is gonna work?" MetalGarurumon asked.
Gyro frowned "I'd almost say yes… but… this is WAY too familiar to something else…" he said.
"What is it making you think of?" Pyrrha asked him.
Chaosmon decided to answer it seemed, as he finally stopped being pushed down into the ground… and kicked the Gaia Force back up towards them.
"The bullshit that gets pulled in DBZ sometimes." Gyro answered with a worried look "Move!"
"Not enough time! Get behind me!" WarGreymon said before pulling the Brave Shield in front of himself while MetalGarurumon got behind him, the Gaia Force exploding right in their face.
"Guys!" Nora shouted up at them in worry as they were hidden by a smoke cloud, which slowly cleared away, revealing the two Digimon, thankfully still in Ultimate but badly hurt, while Gyro and Pyrrha's Auras finally gave out.
"That's enough! We need to retreat!" Oren gasped at seeing what was happening. It was clear to him they couldn't win this fight right now.
"No way!" the four of them growled, surprising him.
"If we run now, there's no telling how much destruction Chaosmon will cause before we get our next chance!" Pyrrha gasped.
"We have to stop him here and now!" Gyro agreed.
"And we're not ready to throw in the towel either!" WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon roared in agreement.
Oren felt floored at their declaration, about to ask them if they were insane, but he was stopped from speaking.
"Their right!" Ruby said, pulling herself to her feet as Palmon woke up and got up with her.
"We're not the type to give up like this!" Weiss added as Tentomon pushed himself up and nodded.
"We never gave up before after all." Blake said, Patamon in her arms and glaring at Chaosmon.
"We're not gonna start now." Yang grinned, earning a "That's right!" from Biyomon as she flapped up.
"Besides, things looking bad is something we've had a lot." Jaune said as Gomamon hung off his back.
"But we always come out on top in the end." Nora grinned as she held the smirking Salamon.
"Some might say we're too stubborn to lose I suppose." Ren chuckled as Wormmon sat on his shoulder.
"Eh, I like to think those guys are just sore losers." Pierce smirked as he pulled Veemon up once the little dinosaur finished warming up enough.
"And even though we may be new…" Aile started as Hawkmon stood next to her.
"We're gonna be sure to follow the same philosophy the others do!" Rusty finished as Bemmon nodded with his arms crossed.
"You're all crazy, you know that?" Oren said, shaking his head. Despite that, there was an unmistakable smile on his face.
"What's wrong with being crazy?" Terriermon asked. "Sometimes crazy IS what you need around here."
"As weird as that sounds, he's right," Lopmon admitted. "And right now is one of those times I think."
"...oh why not. It's not like I had any other plans myself," Oren sighed with wry amusement as he and his partners soon stood alongside the other Chosen. The moment they did...the thirteen Crests began glowing brightly.
All of them held up their D-Crests/Tags, staring at the shining light in surprise, before beams of light shot out from the 11 still on the ground and flew up towards Gyro and Pyrrha, going into their own D-Crests, which shined brighter for a moment, before the greek letter for Omega appeared on their screens.
"Is this…?" Pyrrha said in shock.
"Only one way to find out." Gyro said, before the two shared a nod and held their Digivices up.
(Play Beat Hit)
The two Digivices changed color becoming a mix of orange and blue, with white in the middle, before beams of light shot out from them and connected, forming a golden ring of data which spun in the air before bursting into a powerful light followed by a stream of data.
"WarGreymon!" WarGreymon called out as he appeared from the void and soon flew into the light.
"MetalGarurumon!" MetalGarurumon called out as he too appeared from the void in a mirror of WarGreymon and soon flew into the light as well.
"Jogress Evolution!" The two of them called out as they flew towards the sky, and entered the golden ring from before and when they emerged, a familiar white knight stood tall, cape appearing on his back as his once completely white armor gained its color and details, before test firing the Garuru Cannon and giving the Grey Sword a practice swing. "Omegamon!"
When the light subsided, everyone was in awe at the sight of Omegamon appearing once again.
"This is… that white knight that appeared months ago!" Oren gasped.
"That really was you guys…" Rusty said in awe.
"And… what level is he?" Aile asked.
In response, Weiss showed them the Analyzer screen, and the three of them suddenly looked a lot more hopeful.
Back in the fight Chaosmon had officially descended to laughing mad levels of crazy as he went straight for Omegamon. "Freezing Buster!" he roared as he fired the attack, but Omegamon was more than ready.
"Garuru Cannon!" he countered, the blast hitting the Freezing Buster, and after a momentary struggle, completely overpowered it, hitting Chaosmon in the chest, and THIS time he felt the full force, sending him slamming into the nearest obstacle.
Not deterred though, he soon took to the air which Omegamon followed, to which followed a mid-air dogfight as they two clashed, Omegamon having drawn the Grey Sword but not invoke it yet. The two charged at each other, meeting head on in clashes that were nothing short of epic and created a number of shockwaves, neither side relenting. Chaosmon was erratic, but by now Omegamon was able to notice the bit of method, however small it was, to this madness, and evading an attack from Chaosmon, slashed him right in the chest, sending him hurtling to the ground, leaving a small crater where he'd landed.
"You got some good moves, but you'll never defeat me!" Chaosmon laughed like he hadn't just been knocked to the ground. Quickly getting up, he prepared his drill again. "Fight me all you want, but as long as my drill, my very soul stands strong, defeat is not an option for me!" Chaosmon declared. "Now, take the power of my soul at its peak! Bancho Driller!" he declared as he went straight for the very unamused Omegamon...who just stabbed the Grey Sword forward, meeting the drill head on, and after several moments of the drill trying to break through the Grey Sword, a crack was heard followed by one of the weapons breaking apart. The drill to be exact.
"Are you done yet?" Omegamon asked in deadpan to the speechless Chaosmon, who could only stare in shock as his weapon was destroyed "Thought so." With that done, he aimed the Garuru Cannon and fired at point blank, which sent Chaosmon flying back, and with INSANE speed, Omegamon zipped forward, getting well behind the still flying Chaosmon and… "Grey Sword!" he called out as in a single motion he once again unsheathed the Grey Sword and cleaved Chaosmon in half, the tormented Digimon shattering into data quickly enough.
(end song)
"That was… amazing…" Oren said in awe as he looked up at Omegamon as he pulled his weapons back in, his cape flowing behind him as he looked down at them, Gyro and Pyrrha on his shoulders, with the sun at their backs, making for a sight any who were fortunate enough to see would remember for a LONG time.
And there you go!
Bet nobody expected us to pull Omegamon in again already huh?
The idea was pretty sudden, but it had some merit.
And what did you think of our own unique Chaosmon design?
We figured, since the lore implies every failed Jogress is a Chaosmon, why not give him a custom design to make him different from the BanchoLeomon/Darkdramon and BanchoLeomon/Valdurmon versions?
And yeah, to anybody who guessed it, the King is Oren, and his partners and crest pretty much tell you who he's a counterpart to.
But yeah, hope you enjoyed the first full teamup of all the Chosen Children together, because...
The Adventure Evolves.
