It's time for what you've all been waiting for people.
No fooling around, let's start the show!
Supreme Evolution! Magnamon!
The sound of carnage filled the air, cutting through what should have been a peaceful night, as a new town found itself under attack by the Emperor's forces, with Chimeramon at the lead, the patchwork Digimon once again destroying everything in sight.
"Watching them run never gets old," the man in blue smirked as once again he, the woman in red, and Nero were watching from the control room of the fortress as Chimeramon wreaked havoc on everything around it.
"Indeed. As long as we have Chimeramon, taking over the Digital World may well be more than just a dream," the woman smirked a bit.
"It will happen," Nero smirked, looking at his D-Necron. "The Dark Power of the Dark Ocean has proven QUITE useful don't you agree?"
Down below in the city, various Digimon were running in fear from the rampaging monstrosity. The local defenses had already been decimated, forcing the townsfolk to flee, but fortunately they weren't left to their own devices. The Rebels in the area had arrived to try and hold off Chimeramon, while a portion of them helped with evacuations.
Of course they weren't the only ones helping try to hold off Chimeramon. Chimeramon's attack was cut off when a large armored hand came up and smashed into it, sending it flying off course for a bit. The hand revealing to belong to a giant, silver armored Digimon with a large horn on his forehead, a cape hanging off his shoulders with a large gourd on his back, and a stomach that looked like a glass container of some sort.
"Yeah! Get him Ginkakumon!" shouted a Gururumon that was part of the Rebel forces.
Digimon Analyzer: Ginkakumon
Ginkakumon. Virus Type. An Adult Level Oni Digimon. The younger of the Gold and Silver Siblings, he dutifully follows his elder sister Kinkakumon into battle wherever she goes. The giant gourd he carries on his back is called the Beni Hisago, and it is able to trap people within a different dimension that exist within its confines. His special attack is Kiendan, shooting a large fireball from his mouth.
"Good thing Lady Kinkakumon was able to find her brother." a Commandramon said with a sigh of relief.
Ginkakumon grunted as he stood in front of Chimeramon, cracking his fists, before he started punching the monstrosity, managing to at least hold him in place despite the difference in their levels.
"Tch, so they actually brought something decent with them this time," Nero frowned. "No matter. Chimeramon, destroy them all!" he ordered.
Chimeramon obeyed and immediately started fighting back, resulting in a rather…interesting slug fest against Ginkakumon who was doing pretty well to be able to keep up with something that should have been on a higher level. Even so, it was clear Chimeramon had the upper hand. Ginkakumon was doing his level best to keep fighting, but it was clear he was being slowly pushed back while Chimeramon didn't seem to show signs of weakness…assuming it even could register things like pain and exhaustion to begin with. Even so, he was doing what he was here for. Buying time. Time that was allowing the rebels helping with evacuations to get as many Digimon out of the area as they could.
Ginkakumon growled as he took another punch to the face, before countering with a strong one that left Chimeramon reeling a bit. As he continued to fight, the other rebels were giving him regular updates, and before long thankfully, he got an update that the evacuation was at the safe point. With that gained Ginkakumon looked at Chimeramon square in the face. "Gyakugeki Endan!" he shouted, firing a large fireball from his mouth while at the same time using it to create some distance, and before Chimeramon could make its own counter, Ginkakumon quickly made his escape.
Chimeramon moved to follow after him, before Nero's voice came through the speakers of his base "Stop!" he said, the beast stopping at his command, before flying up to return to the base.
Nero frowned as he watched the retreating Digimon "Chasing after them right now isn't worth it. Especially not when it's just random Digimon."
"You want the Chosen." the woman in red said knowingly.
"I want to crush them and show them all they're just nothing but a bunch of insects!" Nero growled, clenching his fist "Especially Oren! I'll make sure to be VERY slow with him."
While Nero was having his little moment, the entire fight was being watched.
"Ugly though that thing may be, there's no denying its powerful," Kinkakumon frowned, though she was glad the plan worked without a hitch.
"That's why we can't hold this off. We're gonna have to put an end to this insanity and soon," Gyro said as the Chosen were with the Rebels in their base, the groups coordinating what they knew.
To the side, Oren was also going over transmissions from the various remnants of his army who had been gathering information and the like for some time now, especially data on the Dark Towers.
"Think this will work?" Weiss asked him.
"With the data we've gathered and the program we've worked on? I think we have a pretty good chance, yes," Oren nodded as the two of them went over the program again. Once this was done it should finally end one of the bigger advantages Nero had.
"Okay, so as long as Nero has Chimeramon and that fortress we're at a bit of a disadvantage here," Jaune frowned as he, Gyro, Ruby, and Kinkakumon were looking over a map that was detailing the movements of the fortress and with it Chimeramon.
"We're gonna have to do something about either or first," Gyro said, zooming in onto the area that the fortress was going through, and also noting the terrain as well as the direction the fortress was going…which at this point was just a straight line, as if Nero didn't care WHERE he was going.
"Hey, what's that?" Ruby asked, noticing something on the map.
"That? Pretty sure that's a pipeline," Kinkakumon said, focusing on what Ruby had noticed.
"A pipeline? Hang on, where does it lead?" Jaune said, before they manipulated the map to reveal that the pipeline led to one of the oil rigs that existed throughout the Continent. "I think we can use this. If we can open up the pipelines in just the right places…well…we might not be able to take down the fortress, but we can definitely cause some damage and more importantly a distraction."
"Distraction? What are you going for?" Kinkakumon blinked.
"We'll sneak some of us on board while Nero is too busy putting out a sudden fire on his hull," Jaune said, before bringing up various pictures of the fortress and from various angles. "There!" he said, finding an image revealing a side entrance. "While Nero is focused on our distraction, we can get people in through there," Jaune said.
"Pretty good idea." Gyro said, grinning a bit "We get some of our people in, then have them wait hidden inside his base for the perfect moment to strike."
"We could gather up as many of our own forces as we can to launch a strike on him!" Ruby added "While we do that on the outside, the group inside strikes and can cripple his base!"
"Sounds like we have a proper plan of attack then." Agumon said in approval.
"We just need to wait for him to reach the pipelines then." Gomamon added with a nod.
"Alright then, let's make preparations," Kinkakumon nodded as they started to prepare and make note of the spots where the pipeline had openings they could use in the path of the fortress.
The desert area was tranquil that evening, save for the line of Dark Towers that were being left in the wake of Nero's fortress as it slowly made its way through the desert, ready to send out Chimeramon to terrorize anyone who was unfortunate enough to cross its path.
"After all that preparation…this feels almost disappointing," Nero mused as currently he and the two were having dinner, even if the monitors continued to show them what was happening outside.
"Oh be patient," the woman chuckled. "They'll have to show themselves eventually."
"And when they do, Chimeramon's gonna pound them into the ground," the man laughed.
Nero smirked a bit at that. "Indeed. Something to definitely look forward to." he said, before chuckling "One thing I'm certainly looking forward to is how the blonde bimbo will react to THIS surprise." he said, looking to the side, where, standing in a maid uniform of all things… was Raven Branwen.
She looked… broken, to say the least. Her eyes empty of any light, and her arms now clearly artificial robotic replacements, while a metallic collar was clamped around her neck.
"Her own mother, and I use the term loosely here, broken and turned into a maid after being left for dead to the Grimm." the woman said with a smirk.
"The hilarious part is how fast you broke her," the man laughed. "All that talk about survival of the fittest, and she goes breaking after how long again?"
"A month," Nero smirked. "Then again, she was but a simple bandit against an emperor like myself. All she could do was but dance in the palm of my hand." he said, snapping his fingers, to which Raven approached… and he slapped her ass, bringing a gasp from the older woman.
The woman snorted "Sometimes I forget you're still a young man, and then you remind me. I'm surprised you never acted like that with me." she said jokingly.
"Of course not. You're more like a mother to me after all." Nero said simply.
The woman stopped at that, blinking behind her glasses. "Huh… well, that's nice."
"Does that make me the father?" the man asked with a grin behind his coat.
"More like the silly uncle." Nero said with a smirk.
"I'll take it!" the man said with a laugh.
The woman chuckled "Still, it's a good thing we came across Miss Branwen when we did. Following that powerful Digimon signature gave us something useful even if the Digimon in question disappeared."
"Indeed. Her Semblance is useful, especially now that I've managed to train her to lock onto locations." Nero smirked, before leering at the broken maid. "And her body has its uses as well of course… in fact, Raven, head to my bedchambers."
"Yes sir." she spoke in a completely hollow tone, before leaving the dining room….but not before some parts of her outfit hit the ground before she left the room.
"If I'm like a mother to you… I really ended up raising a pervert." the woman said with a sigh.
Nero laughed "What can I say? Every man likes the appeal of a mature woman. And she IS quite lovely. Too bad the personality was garbage. Oh well, that's exactly why I did away with it," he smirked. "Although… there's an idea. Her daughter has quite the figure as well, so does that blue haired girl."
"Somehow I'm not surprised you don't bother with their names." the man muttered "Also, I think you'd have your work cut out for you if you really want to try to break the Chosen."
"I suppose you're right." Nero said with a shrug "Although it makes for an entertaining thought." he said before finally finishing his meal.
As he was about to stand up though, an alarm started ringing out through the base, startling him "What's going on?!"
The woman quickly pulled out a Scroll and expanded it into a tablet, tapping on it before it projected an image of the outside of the base… showing a wall of flames in front of them "Well… it looks like we've hit a surprising obstacle."
Nero growled in annoyance "I don't know what caused this, but for now, we put out this damn fire!" he said, taking out his own Scroll and typing several commands into it.
"My guess, it was the Rebels. They probably wanted to piss us off." the man said in annoyance.
"Well then, guess we'll make plans to give the Rebels a visit," Nero frowned. "Might as well remove those annoying obstacles too."
"No arguments here," the man and woman said in annoyance as they quickly went to the control room and engaged countermeasures, deploying several Mekanorimon equipped with fire extinguishers to start dousing the fire. As the Mekanorimon were busy, nobody noticed something going for the side entrance of the fortress, that something revealing to be Speedermon with Oren, Pierce, and Veemon riding on top. Following them were also several Rebel Digimon, all of whom boarded the base unnoticed.
"Step one complete," Pierce grinned as everyone was securely inside.
"Deploying cloaking program just to be safe," Oren added as the party was soon cloaked and thus should not be detected while they were inside.
"So now we focus on scouting this place AND being ready to strike at a moment's notice," Lopmon said, as Speedermon had reverted to him and Terriermon.
"That also means nobody get too trigger happy. YET," Terriermon snorted, looking at some of the rebels…who put away their weapons, looking just a tad sheepish.
"Sorry, got a little carried away there," a Candmon said with a sheepish chuckle.
Pierce and Veemon chuckled a bit at that, before they turned to Oren. "Okay, Nero probably made this based on designs you left. Anywhere we should search first?" Pierce asked.
"I know one place I definitely want to see. The power core," Oren frowned. "I want to know just what Nero used to be able to power this fortress."
"Lead the way then," Veemon nodded.
With that in agreement, they started exploring, albeit being careful to avoid any security systems. Just because they were cloaked didn't mean they should act recklessly after all. Eventually they found what they were looking for, the entrance to the power core, and…
"Man he is… REALLY not subtle." Pierce said, looking down into the chasm where the power core room was located, standing on top of a platform that was suspended in the center, with a pair of bridges reaching out towards it.
"I suppose I shouldn't be surprised he got rid of parts of my design that he felt were useless." Oren sighed "Still, that matches the general idea I had. Let's get down to it and have a look."
Once he said that, they quickly, and quietly, searched for stairs to take them down to a lower floor, soon managing to reach the same floor as the power core and carefully walking over the bridge towards the room, but then they were met with a different problem.
"Can't say I'm surprised. This room is rigged with all sorts of alarms. One wrong move and our plan is going up in smoke," Oren growled.
"Guess we're not investigating the power core just yet then," Lopmon frowned.
"Think your luck will let us check the power core now?" Veemon asked his partner.
"Maybe, but let's not push it," Pierce sweat dropped.
"So, we find a place to hide until the plan starts?" a Commandramon asked.
"Yeahp. We make sure there's no surveillance systems, then we hide in a room and wait for things to get crazy." Terriermon summed up with a nod.
Back outside, the fires were out, and by that time, the forces who caused the fire were already gone, having not stayed long enough for Nero to sic Chimeramon on them. They stuck around long enough to confirm the infiltration team's entrance before making themselves scarce and hiding. "Okay, looks like the first part of the plan was a success," one of the rebels said, before another one quickly sent the message to the main base.
The message was quickly received, and when it was received, Gyro nodded to the others and then turned to the small army they'd gathered together, all of them by the ocean. "Alright everyone, this is it. We're gonna smash Nero's delusion of grandeur and finally put an end to this madness!" he said, earning roars of approval. Furthermore, aside from the typical rebel members, including Kinkakumon and Ginkakumon, there were a few additions too. Surfacing from the water was KingWhamon, having come to aid in the battle. Not just him too, they'd managed to find the Troublemaker Trio, and needless to say, they were fully on board with finally taking Nero down. On top of that, they'd managed to get in contact with and gather the rest of Oren's former army, making for a truly unified force as all were gathered with a singular purpose.
There was no need for a motivational speech, no need for any grandstanding. All of them were here for one thing. To finally take back the Digital World from this megalomaniac's schemes. They would bring back their peaceful world!
Turning to Agumon, Gyro grinned a bit "Ready to do this partner?"
"Always ready!" Agumon grinned back at him, and one quick Armor Evolution later, Gyro was riding on KajiGreymon's back, his swords joined together at the hilt while holding them in a single hand.
With that the army began moving, their destination: Nero's fortress.
They'd planned things properly. Timing the distraction in a way that would put Nero on guard, but then seemingly nothing, forcing him and his forces to eventually need to rest. However, at the crack of dawn, the unified army was in position to see the fortress, still moving at its own pace. With everything in place, they coordinated with the party that was lying in wait inside of the fortress before they hit the point of no return.
"This ends today!" Kinkakumon shouted to her fellow rebels. "Charge!"
With that, the unified army well…did just that. They charged full tilt straight for the fortress, the Chosen on their partners flying or running ahead, and without hesitation, opened fire, the attacks impacted the fortress. While it didn't do significant damage yet, it was enough to shake the whole structure.
And of course, Nero was tossed out of his bed from the shaking, rushing out with his clothes already halfway on "What's going on here?!" he shouted.
"The Rebels are attacking us boss! They're going all out!" the man's voice came through his Scroll.
Nero growled. "So they've finally decided to stop hiding? Fine then, deploy everything! Destroy them all!" he ordered.
Outside, the various openings to the fortress opened, releasing several Mekanorimon as the initial defense, followed by Chimeramon that emerged from the roof again.
"Here they come!" Ruby said, but they were all ready. The Mekanorimon barely got a chance to get close when everyone opened fire, knocking them out of the air, to which the Ultimates followed up by firing their own attacks straight at the fortress…albeit they controlled it in a way that wouldn't completely blow away the fortress. Their allies were still in there after all.
Of course, Nero's forces had no way of knowing that, and thus Chimeramon was quick to get between the attacks and the fortress, firing a powerful Heat Viper to try and fight back, but the power difference ensured that this was a clash it could not wind, sending it flying back and crashing into the fortress while the attacks hit as well, causing the whole thing to shake violently, alarms blaring all over due to the damages sustained.
At the same time inside…
"That's our cue," Terriermon said, as with the whole place blaring in alarms…it really wouldn't matter if they tripped anymore alarms.
"Alright then, we'll examine the power core, all of you…start tearing the place apart. But remember to get out of here if things start to get too dangerous," Oren said, earning nods of agreement from the rebel Digimon.
"Just wondering, what do you think we're gonna find when we crack open that power core?" Pierce asked as he, Oren, Terriermon, Lopmon, and Veemon made a beeline for the power core again.
"Honestly? I'm not sure. But whatever it is, I have a feeling we'll be able to make good use of it," Oren said. The group soon reached the entrance to the power core, and quickly started working on breaching it. They didn't know how long they had, but they had no intention of taking their time too much.
Meanwhile, Nero was once again in the control room, the man and woman also there and frantically working to deal with the problem at hand. "Tch! They REALLY brought their A-Game here!" the woman growled.
"Boss… I'm gonna be honest, I don't think Chimeramon can win this fight. He'd be up against 4 Ultimates here." the man said in clear worry.
Nero frowned "As much as I hate to admit it… you're right." he said, before standing up "Have the two prisoners we caught the other day transported to the launch bay. It's time I test out my own secret weapon." he said with a smirk.
With that order, the man and woman typed in the commands as Nero moved through his base, heading towards the launch bay himself, reaching it at the same time as a pair of Mekanorimon deposited two prisoners in the room.
A BlackGuilmon and a ModokiBetamon.
Both of them were in restraints as well, and that included muzzles, because he knew better than to let a Digimon open its mouth wide, especially reptiles.
"Rejoice, the both of you, for you are about to experience my genius." Nero said with a grin, before a panel on the floor opened up, raising a sort of table before him, on which stood two objects that looked like Dark Spirals, but they looked like two spirals had been mashed together instead "My Dark Helixes are complete, and you both, are going to be my first test subjects."
The two Digimon looked incredibly worried at that, trying to struggle free of their restraints in vain, before Nero lifted up the pair of Dark Helixes… and then just slapped them onto the two Digimon.
At once, both of them stopped, their eyes glowing red, before their restraints fell off.
Nero smirked "Good. Now then, both of you… Warp Evolution!" he said with a mad grin as he held up his D-Necron.
The Dark Helixes sparked in response, before both Digimon started glowing and growing in size, Nero stepping back as he watched the two grow, his grin widening as their forms cast a shadow over him when they stopped glowing.
Outside, everyone present saw the hatch open, as the two new Digimon emerged.
"What's he sending this time?!" Yang frowned.
"Whatever it is, we'll fight it," Robinmon said.
The new Digimon flew out of the fortress and when everyone could see them, they couldn't help but gasp.
"Dammit, he actually completed those damn things?!" Dorugoramon growled angrily at the sight of the Dark Helixes on the two Digimon, the energy coming off of them making it clear they were both Ultimates.
The first of the two was a massive red dragon, it's lower body simply a long tail, large blades attached to its forearms with large claws on its fingers, large wings that almost looked like the membranes were made of fire, the mark of the Digital Hazard on both its chest and shoulder armor, and a head that reminded them a LOT of Guilmon.
The other could be best described as MetalSeadramon on steroids, with a large cannon in its mouth rather than on its nose, and being much larger than MetalSeadramon was at that.
"What the hell are those things?!" Konohamon asked with a gasp.
"I don't know but I REALLY don't like the look of them." Raimon said in worry.
Weiss frowned "Well… remember how Guilmon's entry said something about the potential for going REALLY bad?"
The others were silent at that for several moments, before Vanguamon summed up what they were all thinking "Well fuck."
"Names and abilities!" Gyro called out to her.
"Megidramon and GigaSeadramon! They're both REALLY strong!" Weiss shot back, sending the info they all needed to their Scrolls.
Digimon Analyzer: Megidramon
Megidramon. Virus Type. An Ultimate Level Evil Dragon Digimon. An extremely wicked Digimon that is considered the most evil of all Dragon Digimon, it is a rare species whose very existence is considered a Digital Hazard. It's presence alone can cause damage to the Digital World, and it's body being made out of Chrome Digizoid makes it a difficult opponent to take on. Special attacks are Megiddo Flame, breathing out a jet of dark flames that burn all to ashes, and Hell Howling, releasing a powerful shockwave with just his howl.
Digimon Analyzer: GigaSeadramon
GigaSeadramon. Data Type. An Ultimate Level Cyborg Digimon. A successful upgrade to the already powerful MetalSeadramon, it has become capable of even higher speed of movement when in the water, obtaining absolute dominion over the sea. It's body is made to have several hollow points for other Digimon to step inside, turning it into the equivalent of an assault landing ship. Special attacks are Giga Sea Destroyer, firing a massive energy torpedo from the cannon in its mouth, and Sky Wave, firing countless anti-aircraft energy shells from the launchers on its back.
"Wow… these guys are stupidly strong." Nora said with a wince from Nefertimon's back.
"We'll have to be careful then." her partner said.
"Too bad we can't trip them up with Sanctuary Bind." Pegasmon said with a sigh.
"Maybe not, but we can use it to mess up their rhythm once we get an opening." Blake said.
"And if nothing else, we don't have to BEAT them, just destroy those…" KajiGreymon trailed off since the Helixes were similar to the Dark Spirals but obviously not them either. "Whatever he's decided to call his latest control devices!"
"Everyone, don't stop until those things are in pieces!" Kinkakumon shouted, to which basically everyone started opening fire again. However, these weren't Ultimates for no reason, and they were strong ones at that, so when the barrage came, the two of them countered with their own attacks, the Megiddo Flame and Giga Sea Destroyer managed to cancel out the brunt of the attacks, leaving only a few to make it through, not dealing too much damage.
The two Ultimates immediately went on the offensive, starting a counter attack on the rebel forces gathered. The moment everyone realized the two were about to attack…well…nobody had to order anything. The army immediately started dispersing, hoping to at least minimize the damage that would be coming. That proved to be a good move, as Megidramon used Hell Howling to send anyone who was still too close flying, while GigaSeadramon used Sky Wave to cause massive damage to the area, taking out a chunk of the army in the process.
"Tch! We have to take these guys down now!" Gyro growled angrily.
"If only we could get them to stop moving, just for a bit!" KajiGreymon agreed, the two of them having been moving quickly to evade the brunt of the attacks.
"Don't look now, but it just got worse!" ForceBeemon said as Chimeramon had joined the battle again.
"I hope Oren and Pierce hurry up, because this is becoming VERY dicey!" Jaune gulped.
Meanwhile…
"Here we are. That was more trouble than I thought it'd be," Pierce said as by now he, Veemon, Oren, Terriermon, and Lopmon had managed to breach the power core and reached what appeared to be the core of the fortress's energy source.
"And he's using… what IS that?" Veemon said in confusion, as in the middle of the room, floating in some kind of tube was a large stone with a golden glow coming through cracks in it.
"I honestly don't know, but whatever it is, its powerful if it could power this entire fortress," Oren said, but right as he said that, their Digivices reacted. A very familiar reaction. "Wait, what?!" he gasped, seeing as there was a Digimental reaction.
"Wait… if there's a Digimental here… then…" Terriermon said, his eyes going wide before he turned to Pierce… who already had a massive grin and was shifting Pandora X into a drill tipped spear.
"About damn time!" Pierce said, raising his weapon to crack open the tube, before pausing and looking at Oren "I'm in the clear, right?"
Oren sighed, though he had an amused smile on his face, before he nodded "Go ahead."
Pierce's grin returned, before striking the tube, breaking it open, and the drill tip of his weapon started spinning as he struck the stone, chipping away at it, with Veemon coming to help by trying to dig through with his claws, an equally eager grin on his face.
… all while an even louder alarm blared through the fortress of course.
At the control room, that alarm naturally alerted Nero and Co. "What?! Someone's attacking the power core?!" Nero said in alarm, before opening a screen to see the inside of the power core…and saw what they were doing. "Oh those motherfuckers!"
"They're not gonna get away with this!" the man said, ready to move, but Nero stopped him.
"No, you two maintain control of the situation. I'm going to deal with them personally. It's high time I dealt with my dear brother anyway," Nero growled before smirking at the end, and typing a few commands, a gate appeared, allowing him to walk through, and appearing inside the power core. "That's quite enough!"
The Chosen and their partners turned around in surprise "Wait, the fuck?!" Pierce said in confusion.
"How did you get here?!" Oren said with a hard frown as he drew Clever Scales.
"Did you think I wouldn't be able to manipulate my own fortress to let me move around as I wish?" Nero said with a smirk, drawing his whip, the tip capped in small, spike covered metal balls "Besides, this finally gives me the perfect opportunity I've been waiting for… to kill you personally!" he roared as he lashed his whip out, Oren bringing up his sword to stop the attack, keeping his grip tight when he saw the whip wrap around his blade.
"Pierce! Keep up with the core, I'll handle him!" He said, before rushing his brother and tackling him out of the core room, his partners following after him as they started dueling on the bridge just outside.
The two brothers struggled before they broke the lock, getting some distance. Nero didn't waste any time and lashed out with his whip, forcing Oren, Terriermon, and Lopmon to evade because they did NOT want to get hit with that.
"This is one game of jump rope I do NOT want to play!" Terriermon shouted as yes, they DID have to jump over one of Nero's attempts.
Moving quickly, Oren unfolded Clever Scales into its snake sword configuration, and soon fought back against Nero's onslaught, the two whip-like weapons clashing and getting knocked back. Even so, Nero didn't back off as he growled angrily and lashed out again and again, the whip striking from various angles, but Oren continued to counter, his goal having 2 win conditions. He either defeated Nero here and now…or he bought Pierce enough time to extract his Digimental. Either one would result in a win…even if personally he'd rather the first happen. Still, he knew he had to keep his own feelings aside for now. And thus the better option was to continue buying time. That was why he continued to counter Nero's whip strikes, keeping the annoying weapon away from him and his partners.
"Stop defending and fight already!" Nero shouted in frustration as his strikes became increasingly aggressive.
"Oh believe me, I'd like nothing more than to do just that after all you've done!" Oren growled. "But unlike you, I don't lose sight of the bigger picture!"
Right as he said that, an explosion of light from the core room occured, followed by the walls of the room blowing up, leaving just the platform, Pierce and Veemon on it as well, and more importantly, in front of them was the new Digimental, floating in the air. It was gold in color, having a rough egg shape like several of the others, though it had nothing but straight edges, and the bottom pieces almost looked like feet, while the crest of Miracles was stamped on the top of it.
(Play 'Break Up')
"About time we finally found it." Pierce said with a grin as the Digimental floated down into his hands… right before several more quakes started rocking the fortress, followed by plenty of explosions.
"Damn it, you idiots! I'd buried that thing in stone to filter the energy out slowly! Now because of you, it's gonna flow everywhere and blow my fortress up!" Nero raged at them.
"That's the idea, jackass!" Veemon taunted while pulling his eyelid down a bit.
"Besides, if I were you, I'd worry about what's about to be a MUCH bigger problem." Lopmon added with a small smirk, as Pierce lifted up the golden Digimental.
"Digimental Up!" he shouted as his Digimental glowed brightly.
The Crest of Miracles spun in the void as Veemon and the Digimental joined it, the three forming a triangular formation once more. "Veemon, Armor Evolution…!" Veemon called out as he and the Digimental made contact, the three spinning quickly before a bright golden light shone forth, creating a pillar of golden light as Veemon's silhouette was visible within it. Behind him a faded image of Veedramon appeared, followed by AeroVeedramon, and finally UlforceVeedramon before the pillar of light dispersed, revealing his new form. His body appeared to have simply grown to the size of an adult man, though with the addition of golden armor attached to his body, specifically, a chestplate, waist armor, armored side skirts of sorts, gauntlets, boots, large shoulder pauldrons, and a golden mask that hid his face, save for his red eyes peering through a visor "Radiance of Miracles! Magnamon!"
Digimon Analyzer: Magnamon
Magnamon. Vaccine Type. An Armor Level Holy Knight Digimon. One of thirteen Royal Knights said to uphold order in the Digital World, it is a Veemon that evolved through the power of the Digimental of Miracles, obtaining Ultimate power… literally. Digimon that evolve through the power of this Digimental obtain the power to achieve miracles in battle, always coming out on top and having the strength of an Ultimate Level Digimon, and this is most apparent in his armor, made from a Golden Chrome Digizoid that gives it great defensive power. Special attacks are Plasma Shoot, firing off one or several ball shaped shots of plasma, and Extreme Jihad, emitting the full power of his Digimental in the form of an energy wave spreading out from his body.
"Holy shit…" Pierce breathed in awe as he looked at the glowing form of his partner, floating in the air above him.
Around them, explosions were happening all over the fortress. "Dammit! The power is too much! Everything's becoming unstable!" Nero growled, right before a strong one wracked the fortress nearly throwing him over the edge, while Oren was able to stab his sword into the ground to maintain balance. "Dammit all!" Nero shouted as he was forced to summon another gate to bring him back to the control room.
With Nero gone, Oren looked to see the end result of Pierce and Veemon using the Digimental, and couldn't help but shield his eyes a little from the golden light. "Okay, definitely an impressive form."
"That's an understatement," Terriermon whistled a bit.
"Yep, very much worth the wait," Magnamon grinned…right before another explosion rocked the base.
"Okay, I think we'd better get out of here. What about the other rebels?" Lopmon checked.
Oren quickly pulled out his scroll, before checking for the locations of the other members of the rebels. "Looks like they're already making their escape. They must have started making their escape when the explosions started as planned just in case," he said.
"Great, so now we just need to get out of here," Pierce said.
"Leave that to me," Magnamon said before creating a golden barrier around them, which floated to the air, and soon shot out of the fortress, going straight through the walls.
Back outside, the fight had become something of a stalemate, as realizing that grouping together would be dangerous, the rebel forces were fighting in a dispersed formation. The goal was very much to minimize damage on their side as much as possible while working to take down their opponents…something that was proving rather challenging, but not impossible, as with the four Ultimates on their side as well, they were able to keep Megidramon, GigaSeadramon, and Chimeramon…mostly in check. However, it couldn't be refuted that the three were powerful as well, thus why the battle was becoming a see-saw battle.
"Tch! This is just endless!" Ren frowned as he and Tetermon were forced to move quickly lest they get hit by the shockwave of the Heat Viper Chimeramon just fired.
"We need to find an opening, if we can just take even one of them out, we can turn the tide!" Pegasmon said as he and Blake opened fire, trying to score a decisive hit on GigaSeadramon, only to have to quickly evade as GigaSeadramon countered with a slap of his tail.
Right after he said that… a hole was blown open in the side of Nero's fortress, several Digimon escaping, followed by Magnamon carrying the others in a golden barrier.
"I think we just got what we needed." MetalSealmon said with a wide eyed stare.
Magnamon didn't stop while the golden barrier was up, and shot right for the three enemy Digimon, all of which turned in surprise…right before the barrier hit Megidramon, rebounding and hitting GigaSeadramon, then Chimeramon…then repeating for a couple more rounds before finally getting away and landing on the ground, while the three were knocked away.
"Okay, I get the whole dynamic entry thing, but did you HAVE to go for the pinball maneuver while we were still in there?!" Terriermon groaned, looking a bit dizzy.
"Sorry about that." Magnamon said with a sweatdrop, letting the barrier drop before he rose back up into the air "Everyone! Focus on those upgraded Spirals on the two Ultimates!" he shouted, before cracking his knuckles as he glared at Chimeramon "HE's mine."
Before anyone else could say anything, he rocketed forward, smashing right into Chimeramon, pushing him away…and right into the Fortress which was now rapidly losing altitude from the damage, and the fact it just lost its power source. "...okay, as much as I think he can handle it, anyone else kinda worried he might be having a bit of a power high right now?" Robinmon blinked.
"Let's be optimistic, but be ready to jump in if need be. For now, everyone focus on taking out these two!" Konohamon shouted, as now all the remaining rebels put their full focus on the two enemy Ultimates.
This time they went for a different approach, as trying to pepper the two with random attacks wasn't working. Instead, they focused on holding down the Ultimates, or at least stopping their movements and thus allowing for a decisive strike on their Helixes. The group quickly decided to focus on GigaSeadramon first, to which Durandamon and KingWhamon went straight for Megidramon, the two keeping the dragon at bay and thus allowing the others to focus fully on GigaSeadramon.
Dorugoramon and Ouryumon fired their attacks at full blast, the sudden strikes hitting GigaSeadramon hard enough that it left the Ultimate dazed…and open to Konohamon snaring him with her vines, followed by Pegasmon and Nefertimon using Sanctuary Bind to hold him down, and giving a clear shot for his Dark Helix. The moment the opening was there…basically everyone opened fire, the combined attacks, topped with both Dorugoramon and Ouryumon lending a hand again, finally managed to overcome the Helix's durability causing it to shatter. The moment it did, GigaSeadramon immediately glowed and soon reverted to ModokiBetamon, which Pyrrha and Raimon quickly picked up and got him out of the way before things got uglier.
"One's down! Take Megidramon out now!" Gyro shouted, and everyone was more than happy to oblige, right as Megidramon managed to get KingWhamon and Durandamon off of himself…and then found himself staring down basically everyone left, including the four Ultimates, who were looking…pretty eager to end this. In short, under the mind control, the bit of Megidramon's mind that was still free could only say one thing. 'Eeep!'
Moving away from the impending beat down, Chimeramon was learning a new thing. Namely that despite Nero's efforts, even it could still feel pain…which was a given when Magnamon was landing rapidfire punches on it…and embedding it deeper into the Fortress's wall. "Magnum Punch!" Magnamon shouted, hitting Chimeramon with enough force to push him right through the walls and into the Fortress interior, further damaging it.
Inside the fortress, Nero and Co. had already realized the lost cause that was this fortress. "Dammit, all that work for nothing," the woman snarled.
"We'll get them for this next time," the man agreed, while Nero just silently glared as Raven opened a portal and soon the four made their escape. There was no sense in staying on a sinking ship, or in this case a crashing fortress.
Back with the two combatants, Chimeramon angrily swung its arms at Magnamon, but the newly evolved Armor level easily blocked and deflected the strikes. Even a Heat Viper it tried to shoot at point blank was countered with a Plasma Shoot which briefly clashed before breaking through the attack, slamming into Chimeramon, sending it crashing further through the fortress, ending in the power core again.
"Normally I'd go for a finisher…but I'd rather make sure you won't be surprising me," Magnamon frowned, before the parts of his armor opened up. "Magna Missile!" he called out as missiles were fired out of his armor, impacting against Chimeramon who neither had the speed or space to evade this fast barrage, roaring in pain from the attack. Seeing Chimeramon wasn't going to be going anywhere anytime soon, Magnamon decided it was time to end this. This form was proving to be a bit more tiring than he thought too, and he'd seen enough anime to know what happens when you keep playing around with a form that's taxing. With that in mind, he gathered all the energy he had and let loose the attack. "Extreme Jihad!" he called out as energy shot forth and expanded around him, Chimeramon having nowhere to escape as it and the entire power core was engulfed in the energy…which in turn caused the instruments that hadn't already broken to take in the energy and well…the entire base was now officially overloading the entire base with energy.
(end song)
When the light subsided, Magnamon was left alone in the exploding base, nothing left of Chimeramon…before he proceeded to high tail it out of there, getting out of the fortress before it exploded. With its explosion, something unexpected happened. A wave of golden energy was released when it exploded, spreading at a speed that soon covered all of Server, with everyone nearby having to brace to avoid being blown away. However, when it passed, there was a notable change. Namely all of the Dark Towers nearby due to the fortress leaving them around sparked, before something changed, the Towers suddenly feeling 'inert' for lack of better words.
"Uh…what just happened?" Emerald asked.
"Wow, this is incredible!" Weiss gasped, having pulled out her Scroll to check. "That energy wave, whatever it was…somehow it just shorted out every single Dark Tower on Server. They're all offline, every last one of them!"
"How'd that happen?" Magnamon asked, landing on the ground and reverting to Veemon, the glow of his armor flying off into Pierce's Scroll as he did.
"You tell us. You're the one who blew up the fortress," Lopmon said.
"If I had to guess…the energies from Veemon's armor evolution must have done something to the control systems in the fortress, it essentially created an EMP for everything tied to the system, in this case the Dark Towers, and most likely the Dark Rings as well," Oren said, though it wasn't as if they could check right now, seeing as they'd defeated Megidramon shortly before the explosion.
"So… that's it? We've finally won?" Ruby asked after a moment.
"I… think we did yeah." Yang said, starting to smile.
"Well… you know what that means." Gomamon said with a smirk.
"Oh I think we do yes." Hawkmon chuckled.
"Victory party!" Rusty shouted loudly, and all the troops roared out in approval as they started cheering.
"Couldn't have done it without you bro." Gyro said, bumping fists with his brother.
"Thanks. Though Veemon was the real star here." Pierce chuckled, patting his partner on the head.
"Aww… you're gonna make me blush guys." Veemon said bashfully, his cheeks a bit red as he rubbed the back of his head.
"Don't lie, you like the attention." Agumon snorted in amusement.
"...okay, maybe I do a little," Veemon snorted after a moment, earning a few laughs as everyone was in too good mood to care. They'd won, and that's what mattered right now.
However, not everyone was sharing the good mood. On a mountain not too far away, a random rock got pulverized, as Nero frustratingly destroyed it with his whip. "This is impossible! Every last Dark Tower has been taken offline, and whatever that pulse did, its destabilized the main functions!" he growled.
"But that means we can't setup anymore. Well…we could, but they sure won't be anything good beyond big black monuments," the man frowned.
"What do we do now?" the woman asked, while Nero slowly calmed himself.
"...for now we lay low. We gather our resources, see what we can still salvage. This isn't over," he said…right before he noticed some data gathering together, and soon forming a Digi-Egg, one that he somehow knew exactly who's Digi-Egg it was. "Not by a long shot…" he smirked before gathering up the Digi-Egg, the four soon disappearing again through another portal.
And there's the chapter!
Pretty sure you all got a lot of surprises here.
One of which, of course, was Raven.
Yeah, Nero's a bastard, we've long since established that, this just served to further hammer it home.
And then, of course, all out war between the Rebels and Nero's forces... and him using his two only Dark Helixes he ever got to make to unleash a pair of powerful Ultimates.
We had some extra plans for this battle originally, but we put them aside instead, opting to keep the flow natural.
I won't say WHAT those plans were, because they're just getting recycled to later though.
And, of course, the big moment everyone wanted, Magnamon VS Chimeramon, and this time it was even more awesome.
Especially since Pierce and Veemon got to keep the Digimental, unlike Daisuke.
And of course... yeah, that last bit.
Nero's not done yet.
So, for now, hope you enjoyed, and...
The Adventure Evolves.
