Hopefully you all have amazing adventures planned for the 2025

season, I know I do. I plan to try and keep up with these stories

that everyone loves and supports. Hope you all enjoy the newest

update to Life as a Snape.

ENJOY!

He was not happy to be forced to attend this charade that his

mother had brought him to. It had been hell since he helped his

disowned brother run away after his bat shit crazy mother tried to

kill him 5 months previously. His brother had doubled down on

making his life hell at school and now he was being forced to carry

on the title of Heir to the Black Family. A title that he did not want to

land on him, his brother's disregard for his own feelings never seen.

Taking a sip of the drink he precured from a roaming elf he felt the

bitterness of the alcohol on his tongue. He was waiting for the

Snapes to arrive, his cousin Narcissus gushed about the dress that

she had helped Saphira find two weeks previously at their families

Boxing Day dinner. His mother took interest in what his cousin said

when she explained that Saphira was the Granddaughter of the

former Lord Prince.

Regulus that night had to roll his eyes when his mother insisted that

Cisse introduce her to the young lady of the Prince family. He

watched as his mother and Aunt fluttered around the ballroom with

their pretend smiles of happiness plastered across their faces. His

mother was the biggest bigoted gossip he knew. She was worse

than the ladies in his house.

"Entering, The young Lord Prince-Snape and Lady Prince-

Snape." The elf that had been tasked in announcing the wizards

and witches entering the event.

Regulus chuckled at his older friend Severus in his unpenetrated

armor of black that he seemed to wear even when it came to his

dress robes. His breath caught when his eyes landed on Saphira.

She was in a beautiful dress that compared to her name's sake.

The Saphire dress was fitted at the top and full around her legs. Her

hair was pulled into a low bun with curls gently falling around her

face. He noted that she was wearing jewels that looked to be

heirlooms to the Prince family.

"Now that is the look of a Lady of our standings." Malfoy came to be

standing next to Regulus.

"Yes, I believe Cisse was responsible for her education into our

world."

"My wife-to-be is a force to be recon with." He chuckled.

Regulus watched as Severus took his sister for a turn around the

room to introduce her to their classmates' families. It was expected

in their society at one's first social engagement. Regulus

remembered the year that Severus joined Malfoy for the first time.

His older brother was here at the time and Severus became aware

of the fake pleasantries that accompanied these events.

"Lord and Lady Black, may I introduce you to my sister Saphira

Prince-Snape." Severus's voice pulled Regulus out of his thoughts.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Lord and Lady Black." Saphira curtsied

acknowledging their status.

"You as well my dear, I have heard a lot about you from your brother

here, my son Regulus, as well as my niece Narcissus." Regulus

heard his mother speak kindly to Saphira.

"I hope my brother hasn't told any stories unbecoming of me."

Saphira smiled.

A smile that Regulus had seen on his cousin's face throughout their

lives. A smile that can be perceived as kind and welcoming but was

also one that did not reach the eye in pure joy that he had seen

Saphira show only to a select few.

"He has told us that you are a kind child and usually keeps to

herself. Regulus speaks of your brilliance when it comes to potions

and charms."

"Lord Regulus likes to flatter me honestly." Saphira chuckles.

"On the contrary Miss. Saphira, I know I would not have gotten a few

of my charms if you hadn't helped me with them last year." Regulus

spoke up.

"You would have gotten it eventually." She smiled at him.

"Lord Prince, have you thought about your plans for after

Hogwarts?" Regulus heard his father ask.

"I have; I plan on becoming a potions master. Professor Slughorn

has put me in touch with a few potions' master's after I expressed

an interest in the field." Severus explained.

"Thats a great field to go into, after the training you can create a

profitable business for your house."

"Yes, and my sister here has taken an interest in healing until she

has children." Severus explained as if that was the next topic of

conversation.

"Oh, I don't see anything wrong with a Lady having a hobby until they

have children." His mother smiled with her calculating eye.

Regulus, Severus and Saphira knew what would be expected to be

said at social events. Regulus had no issues with any Lady working,

as he had heard that many ladies in his year expressed an interest in

carving a path for themselves as long as they don't outshine their

husbands or cause their husbands to feel offended.

"Mother, if it's alright with Lord Prince, I would like to have a dance

with Lady Prince." Regulus spoke up.

"Of course, I trust my sister with Regulus over a few of the others

here." Severus handed Regulus Saphira's hand.

As he escorted Saphira to the dance floor, he could hear the

excitement in his mother's voice about how lovely he and Saphira

looked together. It was exhausting when his mother was this

excited. He knew that his mother wanted him to be attached to a

lady that others would overlook for one attached to a larger family.

But as the Prince house has only two heirs and not elders there was

a larger possibility to be the head of both the house of Black and

house of Prince.

"Reggi, this is exhausting if I can be honest." Saphira sighed as she

was hidden from his family.

"I can understand that Phira." He agreed.

"I feel like a prize to everyone here."

"O can say that many see you as such, but I do not."

"Why is that?" She asked as they swayed to the music surrounding

them.

"Because you have been a great friend since I met you. I understand

your kindness." Regulus explained as the music ended.

They walked back over to where her brother, his parents, Lord

Malfoy, Lucius, Narcissus and Lady Malfoy were discussing the

upcoming wedding during the summer.

"You both look so elegant dancing my son." Regulus's mother

spoke happily.

"Cousin, Saphira here matches your elegance perfectly." Cisse

smiled.

"Indeed, I wouldn't have guessed the little chit that came along with

my son's friend would turn into such a beauty to compare to my

soon to be daughter-in-law." Lady Malfoy laughed.

Just as the lighthearted conversation started it came to an abrupt

halt as a look crossed over Lord Malfoy and Lord Black's face. A look

that Regulus recognized when a specific lord made an appearance.

The ballroom suddenly chilled as the anticipation on the arrival

announcement of their Lord. Regulus had seen the man that was

known as Lord Voldemort many times since his brother was

disowned. He knew that Severus had audiences with the man

multiple time as Severus had mentioned them to him. He noted that

Severus came to stand on the other side of Saphira.

"My Lords and Ladies, Lord Voldemort has arrived." The elf spoke

loudly, and the chill settled firmly in place. The joyful atmosphere

dissipated and what settled was on that he could not describe.

"My Friends, I am happy to see all of your faces here to celebrate

the Yule season. I see many faces I know and faces I have yet to

make acquaintances with. This is the mark of the end of the year

and a start of a new one. I cannot wait to see what is to come." Lord

Voldemort addressed those in the ballroom.

Regulus felt Saphira's grip tighten on his arm where her hand was

placed. He knew that the lady next to him was on edge with their

Lord in the ballroom. Saphira had yet to meet him in person but has

heard about him from those in their house at school.

The conversations around him continued in a low humm. Before

their lord appeared, everyone could hear the conversation next to

them. Now they kept the conversation low.

"Young Lord Prince, do you think that a courting contract between

our families would be expectable?" Regulus heard his father ask

Severus.

"As long as for now it's a courting contract and can be reassessed if

the courting is going well between them." Severus agreed.

Before Regulus could speak a feeling of being pray came over him.

Saphira's grip tightened significantly as Severus and his father's

hands parted from their shake in agreeing to have their solicitors

draft a contract.

"I see that the Blacks and Prince's have great news to share."
