Dorms

In Martins dorm room he can be seen from the dim glow from his computer screen. A Word Processing program to be exact. He is documenting everything he can. He is writing about everything he is found so far. There were many programs that all matched the code patterns that his father could leave. While other scripts and codes don't seem familiar. Its seems like older scripts and code from his fathers, he classified those codes as origin codes. Those origin codes seem to be implemented since the creation of the Super Computer.

Martin sighs as he takes off his glasses and squeezes the bridges of his nose. He is too stressed to want to even talk to his dad about this, the only clue of it being his dad was that one 'Aelita' mention in the Skidbladnir code. So, there could be an easy chance that his dad knows nothing about Lyoko and it's all a huge coincidence. At least that's how Martin is trying to talk himself into.

There was something that caught his eye from snooping earlier. After re-analyzing the Skidbladnir code, something about it being materialized in a garage. At least from his quick scan of the 4 sectors that were there, there didn't seem to be any sign of a garage. Or at least a traditional garage, which should've been something he should've been looking for to begin with, as nothing looks traditional when it comes to Lyoko.

But when Martin did look at the code again, it seemed odd, it was meant for traversal through something called 'The Digital Sea'. He had some sort of Idea of what that could be referring to. Last time he was on Lyoko he remembered seeing some type of water below the floating islands that combined to make the desert sector. All the other sectors seem to share that body of water.

Martin paused his journal entry and looked at the time. It read 3:42 am. He forgot to go to bed. The idea of exploring more about what secrets that Super Computer had made him forgetful to get some sleep. Frustrated, Martin decided to give up for now on the search of the secrets. He wanted to get some shut eye and some sleep before the grueling tasks of attempting to pay attention to class whilst also being entirely focused on the Super Computer in his head.

Cafeteria

Stuart, Violet, and Alex were sitting at their usual lunch table having their morning breakfast. Having some conversations about classes and latest pop songs. To Violets surprise Stuart knows some of the niche rock bands she likes.

"How the hell do you know about the Subdigitals? They pretty much went defunct back in 2007!" Violet was stunned, she had never met another person her age that didn't need to be explained one of her favorite classic bands.

"My older cousins were huge fans, they actually got to see them live when they played here. A student even got to play a bit in their concert. From the recordings I saw way back in the day it made me a bit of a fan." Stuart said flaunting his new street cred he thought he had.

"Do you still have that recording?! I need to see this!" Violet almost jumped over the table screaming towards Stuart who also jumped but in surprise. The whole cafeteria began to look over at the group that is causing a ruckus in the morning. This made Violet blush in embarrassment before sitting back down.

"Hold your horses, this was a very old VHS recording my cousins had at the time. There's a good chance that recording is long gone now. But I can hit up my cousins as they don't live far from here to see if they still have it." Stuart said trying to calm down Violet's ravenous need of Subdigitals content.

"You are way too energetic this morning Vi, it's my turn with the energy. Anyways change in topic of something new and also coming to the school! The famous skateboarder Odd Della Robbia! Heard somewhere he is going to be holding a contest here for the students. Rumor though has it that he used to be a student, here. If that is true, he is also close in age with Mistress Delmas, if so, that is going to be so interesting!" Alex said, trying to bring the spotlight over to himself. Which seemed to fail as Violet and Stuart didn't seem too interested. This bummed Alex out a little bit.

"Fine, maybe Martin might like this fact a little more. Speaking of him, where is he?" Alex asked his 2 friends. Which in return received some shoulder shrugs. "Maybe he is still asleep, I can go look for him." Alex proceeded to get up before seeing what seemed like a zombie resembling their friend entering the building. Martin grabbed a tray lazily while grabbing some breakfast. Alex then turned around and sat back into his seat.

"Wonder if he stayed up all night again working on a game." Stuart said while looking at his dead eyed friend failing to pick up a banana. Stuart sighed before getting up and helping Martin a bit. After a bit of convincing Stuart was able to get Martin his tray of food over to the table that his friends were sitting at.

"What happened? Did you stay up all night trying to program new weapons for the new game?" Alex asked winking when he said game. Martin seemed to look at him without a single emotion being portrayed. Martin looked back down and started devouring food. After a minute of two with silence with the friends looking at each other not knowing the next question to ask and Martin just inhaling his food. Martin stopped and sighed before speaking to his friends.

"We all know Liam is hiding something right?" Martin said dead panned.

"Yes" said Stuart,

"Pretty much" said Violet,

"You don't say?" said Alex.

"I've been digging, I haven't told you guys about it as I don't have definitive proof. But I may have found something. It's only a theory as of this morning." Said Martin as in between sentences he shovels a bit of food into his mouth and chews.

"What's that Nerd-Boy?" Alex quipped but also interested in what his friend discovered.

"I don't believe that there's only 4 sectors. But a secret 5th sector. I found this program that is supposed to be a ship that traverses through something called The Digital Sea. I did some observing on the sectors I know I can look at and they all have something in common. Have you guys ever noticed how at the bottom of each sector has what seems to be water?" Martin said as he starts to have some feeling put into his explanation. The food seems to be doing its job as he is slowly waking up more and more. Martin didn't get a verbal answer as his friends are making sure to listen, but they all gave him a firm nod.

"So, if you remember the Holomap in the center of the room. We never really pay attention to it as it didn't seem to important right?" Martin waited for another reply, again he didn't but his friends gave him a questioned look.

"Do you guys remember a ball in the middle of the Holomap, what seems to maybe be the center of the sectors keeping them connected in some way? Well, I think it's been sitting right in front of us, that ball is that other sector. The sector that may hold this ship, but I don't know how to even access it." Martin said after the whole build up. It did seem to make him sad the more he went into the fact he couldn't find a way to access this sector, but in the back of his head lays doubt that it's even a sector at all.

"We could always ask Liam." Stuart said trying to sound a bit hopeful.

"Dude, he doesn't answer questions ever. Unless it's important to a task at hand. I don't know if we can trust him any more than just information of the monsters." Alex said as he grew more serious. This did make Violet a little uneasy.

"I don't know, I know he doesn't tell us much information when we ask but he has always been there to help us when in need." Stuart said planting his metaphorical foot down.

"Stuarts right, even if he can't answer all our questions, he has been trying to help us since day one." Violet said being on Stuarts side. Which shocked Alex. Alex was used to them being on the same side on practically everything. Which made Alex give Martin a look.

"Hate to say it, I am with Alex on this one. All the information I've found because of snooping is information we should've been told ahead of time. There's still information to uncover as time goes on with more context clues to put it together." Martin said siding with Alex. This made Alex relax a bit before the first school bell rings warning students to start heading to their classes.

"Anyways Martin, since these two are clearly in the wrong, there is something cool I do want to talk to you about." Alex said to Martin as he started to pick up his tray to go dump whatever scraps of food are left over. Martin followed behind.

"What's up?"

"The famous skateboarder Odd Della Robbia is going to be holding a contest for the students for the next few days! You going to enter?"

"Holy crap Odd? I loved his stats in the Pro Skater series he got put in! He's my favorite French Skateboarder! Unfortunately, I don't skateboard, but I can get some wicked combos in the game." Martin said excitedly as he was dumping his tray's left over food he couldn't eat fast enough. Both Martin and Alex left as they both went to their classes talking about their favorite skateboard moves and combos from the game.

That left Violet and Stuart slowly following what they were doing, but silently as they looked at each other with more of an uneasy look. They had a feeling their friends were right, but they had to stick with their beliefs. Silently the pair went their separate ways to get to their classes.

Science Class

Martin and Alex shared the same science class. Which was great as they could talk about the contest that is supposed to start after classes were done for the day. During the morning announcements they confirmed the contest was happening that day starting at 5 pm. But unfortunately their teacher Mr. Pichon was going over the study guide of their latest quiz they are going to have to study for on the test for Monday. This was a bore to the whole class and made it hard for Alex and Martin to talk about the excitement that is after class. Alex was staring at the clock, silently threatening it that if it doesn't move to the 5 o'clock mark that it was about to be in a world of hurt. But the clock just stood there, ticking away as if it never even acknowledged Alex. This made Alex give a small sigh. This was heard by Mr. Pichon.

"No sighing in my class Alexandre. Especially when we are going over the study guide that you should all know by now." Mr. Pichon said as monotone and annoyed as he could muster without fully exploding his emotions. He never understood why kids didn't find the stuff he taught fantastically or whimsical like he was interested while growing up.

Alex didn't give a response, he felt that was the safest option to make sure he can get to the contest. He couldn't miss this.

"Silent aren't we today, usually you give me a few squabbles before I send you down to the Mistresses Office. You really want to go to that contest after class, don't you? Would be a shame if you couldn't make it." The teacher's face began to grow a sinister grin. Which seemed to be more out of malice than a joking grin. Alex knew his teacher would pull something like this out of retaliation. This made Alex stand out of his chair.

"You wouldn't dare! That's not fair!" Alex said with fear, seeping out of his voice. Mr. Pichon could tell that Alex was desperate to go. Which made his next decision much more tantalizing than it should be for a regular teacher.

"Go on down to her office, I'll let you know I sent you." That is all Mr. Pichon sent. This made Alex drop his head, Martin felt bad. Alex was talking about how much of an inspiration Odd was, but now not able to see him, made Martin feel bad. There had to be a way to get him out of this. Alex on the other hand just gave up, he didn't want to fight it. He knew how much of a narcissist and evil that their science teacher can get. Alex slowly walked out of the door to the classroom, which gave their teacher the biggest grin.

After about 10 minutes the bell rang and Martin speeds out into the hall, not giving Mr. Pichon a seconds attention knowing what he'd do if Martin stayed back too long. Martin was racing towards the admin building. When a gut feeling told him to check where the contest was being held. He never had this feeling since the last time the campus was attacked.

Martin made his way towards the Gym where the contest was being held. That's when he started hearing screams and yelps. He slowly opened the door and saw a bunch of sentient skateboards attacking the contestants, students, and judges! It seemed like the only person fighting back was Odd! He didn't know Odd personally, but this felt out of character. Martin shook his head and joined in the fight and trying to escort some students and people away. After a few minutes of kicking and taking the brunt of some attacks from these wooden hostile boards. It was just Odd and Martin in the building fighting them off. Martin knew he had to alert his friends, but he couldn't make it obvious in front of an adult.

"Martin! I know you're trying to help but you need to get out of here!" Odd said as he used a sentient skateboard to swipe away other skateboards that are trying to attack him. This made Martin freeze for a second before having to react to another skateboard trying to go for his legs.

"How do you know my name?!" Martin said as he tried to slowly make his way to the door where the locker rooms are away from the skateboards.

"The hair! Don't worry about it! Just go!" is all Odd could say in between gasps and fighting the skateboards. Martin remembered his pinkish hair, Odd must've known his parents if he knew his name. But his parents never talked about Odd before. Which confused Martin more, but he needed to get to the factory. Martin got to the Locker rooms and ran all the way to the boiler room. I called Violet and Stuart trying to let them know XANA is attacking and letting them know Alex is currently in detention, so they were going to have to do part of this without him.

After getting off the phone and running through the sewers to get to the factory, Martin thought how badly he felt bad for Alex. He definitely would want to take some anger out on some of XANA's monsters. But he has no way of getting Alex out of detention. He ignored that a bit and began speeding up once he saw the ladder that reached the Factory.

Martin began climbing up the ladder and entered the factory quickly, using the ropes dangling above the broken stair case. He landed successfully on the ground and headed for the elevator. Punching in a couple codes, the elevator descended down the shaft towards the Laboratory. After a few moments of the elevator stopping the door in front of him starting to unlatch and open to the warm air of the laboratory. The seat was moved over and facing the elevator. Martin hopped onto the chair, and it moved him to the front of the Super Computer. With the Chaos going on he initiated the transfer procedure and opened up a window on the computer to see the local new station to see if it made it to the news station yet.

There are stray skateboards rolling around the streets attacking any random bystander. This isn't good. He started pinging the cell phones of his friends to find out where they were, until he heard the elevator being called to the top of the Cathedral. With a sense of ease, he was happy. The cavalry is here. It then made him realize it was quiet. He hasn't heard from Liam.

"Liam are you there?" Martin said, and for a bit no response.

"Liam?" Again, no response. Martin realized that they were on their own this time, this gave him a sense of righteousness as he was right this time. Violet and Stuart are wrong, and Him and Alex are right! Then that feeling passes and now the new feeling of anger rises. How could Liam just abandon them at this time of need?

Martin gets jogged out of his head when he hears the door open revealing a extremely bruised Stuart being carried by Violet. She sits him next to the computer as Stuart catches his breath.

"No let me go in, I can fight." Stuart said fighting as he could barely lift his arm.

"No, you're too weak, you're safe here. Look Martin, we don't have time to wait if Alex might've gotten out of detention. We need to get to Lyoko now!" Violet said to Martin who was already setting up an auto transfer program. Martin just nodded before joining Violet back in the elevator. Martin punched in a couple codes and got the elevator sending him and Violet down to the Scanner room.

Once the elevator opens, they both take their respective scanners. Once the computer's timer went off the doors on the scanners closed and began scanning Martin and Violet. After a few seconds Martin and Violet didn't feel their real bodies anymore, their bodies began feeling a state of shock before their feeling in their body came back.

Both Martin and Violet dropped onto the light blue platform they virtualized above. They were in the Ice Sector. After landing Martin brought up his left arm and started typing on the keyboard watch. Searching for the tower. Violet began looking around to see if she could spot it before Martin.

"It's to our immediate south, follow me I know where it is." Martin said before turning around and running towards the tower. Violet followed close behind him. As they were running, they noticed the red mist coming from a tower from afar. They both can see small specks of what seem to be some monsters. But there is one just dot that neither of them are familiar with. Neither of them said anything but continued their journey towards the tower.

In preparation for the fight, Martin summoned a Zweihander so he could have a weapon. He didn't prepare a weapon yet for himself, he was too busy on his research of the Super Computer.

"Alright it seems like we may have a new friend. It looks like a cannon ball. I can see all around the middle of the ball are the symbols of XANA. I'd say you might be better shot at getting them with your whip." Martin said starting to strategize while having the giant sword lay on his right shoulder.

"On it, if you need help after I demolish the ball with a couple of those Hornets and Krankerlots, just shout." said Violet back. All Martin gave was a nod. He so wished he took the time to program some sort of blaster for himself. But it seemed like such a daunting task for him.

Once they reached the tower the Monsters saw them and began attacking. Martin swung the sword at the Hornets, and since they were in the air they easily dodged his attempts of an attack. Whilst Martin was having a hard time with the monsters, Violet was having an even harder time with the Ball. It keeps rolling around making it hard to land a hit on one of the symbols.

For a second the ball stopped, and Violet took this chance to hit one of the symbols. After her attack she realized it did nothing. The Ball didn't react, except for the ball opening from its sides to reveal its eye and some sort of fleshy looking metallic monster. It started charging something up, but before Violet could attack it's symbol where it's eye could be. The monster released a huge energy wave that was gaining height as it was a vertical wave.

The energy wave hits Violet and sends her to the floor. She gets knocked out and begins to devirtualizing. This made Martin panic as he was alone now. He didn't have back up. He had to solo all of these monsters. With a second, he wished again he had a blaster, and in his mind a crudely polygon pink blaster, a mixed look of 2 arm blasters from 2 separate games. Martin then realized that this new blaster was on his right arm and his sword was gone.

Martin didn't have time to understand what had just happened. He then, in his head, put together the entire functions of how this blaster would shoot. Then in action he pulled the trigger with his right index finger inside of the pink blaster and a pink energy bullet exploded out of the hole exiting the blaster. It made a direct hit on one of the Hornets making it explode into pieces of code.

Martin then dodges to one side when the ball tried to reorient itself to point a new vertical energy wave to hit Martin. Martin tried to arm his blaster for the eye in the middle of the open ball, but he was too slow, and the ball closed itself and began to roll around to get a better shot at Martin.

Martin decided to focus on the 3 other monsters trying to shoot at him. With barely having to try he successfully aims and takes out the last Hornet and 2 remaining Krankerlots. Martin then tried to look around for the giant ball, before it was too late, he couldn't take a shot in time to stop the energy wave to come from the ball. Until Martin heard a voice he recognized all too well.

"LAZER ARROW!"

a/n Oh I can almost imagine the amount of anger that might've come from someone reading this cliffhanger. I just felt it was only right to leave this part on something enticing. So hopefully you don't get too mad at me.

This week I won't take too much of your time as I did with last week's note. I'm glad I was able to hammer out this chapter. It feels like so much is going on, and some stuff is starting to happen. This could potentially be the climax of the story. But I don't know exactly where the story is going to go here. I definitely know some keys story elements and the ending. But it's kind of up in the air of how the story progresses.

Anyways thank you guys so much for reading this! As always! Get ready to Virtualize!

p.s. To those who are direct messaging me about commissioning art for this story. I'm not currently interested in commissioning art. If you or anyone wants to still make fan art, I am ok with that as long as it's not weird, keep in mind, these are children. With the fan art please feel free to direct message me the fan art! Thank You!
