Of course the peace wouldn't last forever, not on Surge's watch. She took Kit, who seemed better now. So now they could find Sonic and beat him. For that, she was happy. Why was she happy? That she could not answer. But now to find Sonic and beat him and make sure he never came back. But saying that was easier than finding him. He was apparently always traveling. With a world so big, even if Surge was faster. She might have trouble randomly bumping into him. Thankfully there seemed to be a few main places where he would stop. So Surge and Kit decided to take a look at those first. With a lack of tech on their side, this was probably the best they had and the best they were possibly going to get.
Kit was happy if Surge was happy. She seemed happy, so that made Kit happy. Finding Sonic and ending it would be a breeze now. All they actually had to do was find him. Kit and Surge had no idea or tools to track him down but eventually found out his normal rest spots. So they decided to look there. If he wasn't there, they'll try tomorrow. At least that's what Kit convinced himself, until Surge ended up not finding him and then got angry when they couldn't find him.
"We checked every place! How can this even be? Where is he?" She rages, while Kit stands next to her nervously.
"We could check again?" Kit nervously asks, Surge looks at him then smiles.
"Drippy you're a genius!" Surge takes Kit by the hand and goes back to the first spot. They look again, then again, then again, then again, then again, then again, then again. Faster and faster. Attempting to catch the hedgehog.
"Where is he?" Surge rages
"Do you know where Sonic is?" Kit asks a stranger, a bee.
"No, he is usually around here somewhere though!" The bee says.
"Thanks, your name?"
"Charmy, yours?"
"Kit."
"That sounds familiar…"
"C'mon drippy! Let's check again!" Surge grabs Kit, who waved goodbye to Charmy, while Charmy looks confused after them.
They end up checking late into the night. With still no sign of Sonic. Kit suggests they look in other places, like the bee suggested, with no sign of any reason to do otherwise, Surge agrees and then begins to look in other places with Kit. Any location they know. They end up not having much luck however. Not finding any trace of Sonic. At this point, Kit is ready to stop. Surge however refuses to, an endless ball of energy, to stop Sonic, once and for all. That's until she falls asleep. Face first. Kit sighs and smiles, then lays next to her. Sleeping until morning.
"Why didn't you wake me?" Surge shakes Kit as soon as she wakes up.
"I tried." Kit lies. Surge seems to accept that answer but then ends up taking Kit around again to sentry all their spots. Which they end up doing again. They end up with nothing, again. Kit suggests that it's probably the darkness that's clouding their view and they should wait until sunrise to look. Surge turns to him and summons some lightning. Which lights up the area tenfold. All Kit can do is shame himself for giving Surge such a bad idea.
So Surge and Kit walk. Surge now constantly illuminates their path with her lightning to prove her point to prove Kit wrong. Eventually she stops after she notices Kit looks sad, she doesn't know why she feels bad for him, yet she does it anyways. To not make him weak and sad for the battle, yeah! That makes sense! The two keep looking, around and around. Surge summoned lightning every once in a while to see where they're going but that's it. Eventually light does come. So Surge stops. All while heading to another destination. The Rabbit's house. Where Vanilla and Cream live and where Sonic is currently.
Sonic apparently likes to nap there a lot. But that's all Surge and Kit know. Not about the actual residents of the house. All they know is that they're looking for Sonic and he can be found there, in a vulnerable position. To get the element of surprise. If they can get him, he stands no chance against the two of them. All that and he will be gone. Surge walks sternly with Kit as they approach their last (even if they don't know it) location for their exposition.
"Mr. Sonic you should get down from there!" Cream says concerned, up to the hedgehog. Who is relaxing like normal on the Rabbit's roof.
"Why?" Sonic gets up from his place and asks the rabbit.
"Haven't you seen the lightning strikes? They could come for you any second!" Cream exclaims and Sonic reaffirms himself into his position and laughs quietly.
"I'll be fine, if it starts to rain, I'll get down to a safer place, okay?"
"Okay, if you say so!" Cream says, happy with their compromise. Sonic is happy he gets to keep his spot. Thinking that the lightning won't come for him, he does appreciate Cream's concerns however. But he keeps on resting. He doesn't like water anyways, so he'll move even if it does come.
Unfortunately the lightning does come for him. Surge ends up seeing their conversation. Seeing Sonic clear as day on the roof. She smiles a big toothy smile. Seeing the Blue Hedgehog and ready to attack him. She peers out of the bushes and onto the lawn of the house.
"Jackpot" Surge says. Readying herself for a fight, with lightning surrounding her fist as Kit follows nervously behind her. Surge smiles as she approaches the house. She walks and walks as best as she can muster without making any apparent sounds. You can hear the crackle of her electricity flowing outside and inside here, it sounds like they're ready to burst. Surge crouches and jumps up onto the roof. A shadow puts it's presence over Sonic, who is relaxing peacefully on the roof.
