Life was a lot more peaceful after that day. But that didn't mean the battle ever stopped for the two. Surge was still dead set on getting that Hedgehog. But she actually accepted Kit's input now, which was nice for the Fennec, who could actually start to grow his own personality now. With the reintroduction of the two. People actively started coming after them. Their base was mostly safe but other than that, people would find and attempt to at the very least subdue them if not straight up kill them.
Mainly Sonic, usually it was Sonic. Sometimes it was on behalf of Sonic. But all of them led back to Sonic. Surge was obviously getting tired of the attacks. Kit was too but didn't make it as obvious as Surge did. She complained about the Hedgehog to Kit a lot. No matter who, the Hedgehog always seemed to be behind it. Why was he even trying to help them anyways? Is that the only thing heroes can do? Kit found it weird. Really weird. But he found Surge's comments even stranger.
"If someone didn't come her for us because of that stupid Hedgehog, I would actually let them capture us" Surge one day, nonchalantly said, which confused Kit. A lot, she's been acting like this a lot lately.
Kit tilted his head in confusion at Surge. But before he could even think about getting any words out, he hears a sound like a crash on the ground behind him. He turns around and Surge gets up to see a Pink Hedgehog in front of them giving them a determined stare.
"Have no fear! Amy Rose is here!" The pink girl chants, Kit looks at her with confusion while Surge has a small pink tint on her face but is equally as confused
"Are you here because of Sonic?" Kit nonchalantly asks.
"I am here to make you two good!"
"Because of Sonic?" Kit rephrased his previous question.
"I can do things without him, thank you very much!" The Pink Hedgehog says matter of factly, Surge smiles and goes over to the link Hedgehog, almost bowing down to her.
"Thank Goodness! Not another one of Sonic's goons. Please! Take us with you!" Surge begs to a now surprised Amy. Kit is still in his spot suprised as well.
"Well!" Amy stammers out "Looks like you know power when you see it! So um… come quietly!"
"Okay! C'mon Kit!" Surge cheers, Kit follows her, still confused. While cheerfully Surge continues to follow her.
The three continue to walk through the ground. Amy leading and Surge and Kit following. The three go past a lake and into a forest. Kit thinks that this must be a plan by Surge. But when he signals her about it she just smiles and keeps walking. Kit becomes even more confused by the situation. But the three continue their journey.
"Soooo, where's your base?" Surge asks Amy, who is surprised by the question.
"The restoration is still a bit far"
"So are you going to officially arrest us? Like handcuffs and that sort of thing?" Surge asks excitedly.
"You came willingly so no need" Amy states and keeps walking
"Surge?"
"Yeah, Kit?"
"Is that a badnik?"
The three turn to see a small bug looking creature approaching them. Surge, immediately, pounces on the thing and destroys it into basically dust. Successfully freeing the animal.
"Wow… Thanks, you guys hate Dr. Eggman? I thought you worked for him?"
"Ugh, that stupid blue hedgehog spreading crap… we aren't on that stupid doctors side or that stupid platypus' side, we're our own people, we just happen to have the same goals but honestly, we want to kill Eggman just as much as we want to kill stupid blue guy" Surge states and Kit agrees, nodding his head.
"Wait, you guys want to kill him?"
"Yes or at least mess him up bad enough to make him stop"
"Good luck getting Eggman to stop"
"Murder doesn't seem that bad doesn't it?" Surge says and Amy laughs before going back to serious.
"Well, don't think to murdering on my watch" Amy says matter of factly
"Don't worry, it's either you or Sonic or his goons… you're our best bet!" Kit stops, Surge is serious about that? Even more confused than ever about this decision.
"Well, thanks, I guess I am your best bet" Amy confidently says then continues walking, with newfound confidence and Surge following behind her excitedly and also Kit following behind cautiously. They continue through the forest, to a town. Where obviously many people are surprised to see them. They continue to walk until they get into the center of the city and approach the restoration building. Amy is very happy with her success. Extremely happy.
Along with Surge being happy about being captured. Kit thinks of running but Surge wouldn't go with him so he sticks with her and Amy as they approach the building. They go inside and walk a bit more inside the building, before they approach a room with a desk inside with a beetle in the chair. The beetle looks up and seems relieved about Amy presence.
"Amy! What do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" The beetle says very formally, Kit assumes that's how they talk here.
"Look what I got! All by myself!" She gestures towards an excited Surge and a neutral Kit, Jewel looks confused. Amy hands her a paper, Jewel reads it and looks shocked.
"Mind I ask, how?" The beetle questions Amy who smiles at her and then begins to relay the story of how she found and got Surge and Kit. All while Surge still looks excited and Kit looks for a way out that he can drag Surge through before this stupid idea (he thinks) can come into play. Jewel looks surprised at the information Amy's telling her and then proceeds to look back at Surge and Kit. One who's almost bouncing up and down in excitement and the other who is nervously looking around the room.
"So what are you going to do with them?" Jewel asks Amy, who pauses for a moment before saying something.
