Surge excitedly wakes up again for another day. Kit wakes up less excitedly. But he doesn't want to ruin it for Surge. Amy, again, knocks on their doors and is happily greeted by Surge. She say something, then takes Kit, Surge waves him off. Kit is very nervous without her. Amy doesn't seem to notice or care. Taking him back to the beetle, Jewel. Who assigned him to collecting and transporting papers. Amy thinks he can handle that himself, so after quick intrusions from Jewel, Amy leaves him. The last face he recognizes leaves him. He anxiety spikes up a lot, Jewel seems to notice this and attempts to calm the boy, which surprisingly helps a bit. But then immediately it spikes back up when he has to go out and actually do his job.

Nothing bad happens to him. Transporting papers isn't that bad, surprisingly. He falls into a routine, something that he's missed. So he keeps at it. He ends up being really good at it. It's a very simple job but the fact he makes no faults means a lot. That's until he runs into Tails, because of course he has to. The first few times, Kit ignores the other. But then Tails actually attempts to talk to him. Kit still attempts to avoid him. Going out of his way to not interact with the fox. Which makes Tails even more mad. He doesn't know why Kit won't talk to him. The last thing Kit does is want to interact with Tails, Because of how awkward it would be, not knowing he's the reason it's so awkwardly by ignoring the conversation.

Eventually Kit gets his break and he eats in the lunchroom. Tails sees him and decided to sit next to him. All that does is make Kit move. Tails follows him. They play this little game for a while. Until Kit gets tired of it and goes into his and Surge's room to eat his lunch. Tails follows him and attempts to get in. But Kit locked the door and no matter how hard Tails knocks, Kit won't let him in. Tails then decides to stay outside until Kit comes out. Which Kit eventually does but then still proceeds to ignore Tails. Kit doesn't understand why Tails is so determined to talk to him. Doesn't Tails realize how awkward it will be? So Kit continues to ignore him. Until it become too much for Kit.

"Stop try to talk to me." Kit says.

"Why?" Tails says concerned.

"Just stop trying." Kit says.

"I just want to help."

"I don't need your help."

"You need it."

"I don't."

"Kit, I can see that you need help."

"Even if I do, it doesn't need to be you."

"Why won't you let me help you?"

"Leave me alone."

"Kit, let me help!"

"Stop! I have a job to do! Stop. Trying. To. Help. I. Don't. Want. Your. Help. Why can't you get that?"

"You need it!"

"I don't! Leave me alone."

"Kit."

"Stop talking to me."

Tails stop talking, leaving Kit for the time being. Kit cries a bit, but gets a tissue and returns to his job. When asks, he says he was held up by a problem. Everyone seems to accept that. So he continues his job and falls back into the routine. He's proud of himself and bets that Surge will be too. That makes him happy.

But then it ends and Tails confronts him again. He attempts to avoid him. But he can't. Kit doesn't want to talk, yet Tails keeps pressuring him too. He doesn't want to talk to him. Kit attempts to get into his and Surge's room, Tails blocks the entrance. All that does is make Kit cry. Tails sees this and demands to ask what is going on. Kit doesn't want to talk and continues to cry.

A sheep (Lanolin) ends up finding them and takes them to Jewel. A crying Kit and a peeved Tails.

"Before this becomes too much, I think we should talk about this."

"Alright, Surge. No Rushing Forward, okay?" Amy questions Surge

"Okay!" Surge says and Amy smiles, it's nice when she listens.

They gear up and make a plan to attack against some Badniks. Getting through them much quicker than before without a plan. Surge seems to have learned her lesson, listening to Amy and getting through the Badniks much faster than before. Surge loves being able to smash through unknowing robots and Amy loves seeing her so happy. The pure joyfulness of Surge's antics, Amy finds… cute? That's weird but that doesn't matter. Amy keeps going on with Surge gleefully destroying packs of robots. Until the arrive at the source.

"It's that stupid robot again" Surge says, she's right, it's Metal Sonic

"Alright, so, same as usual? You go left I go right?" Surge asks, Amy smiles that's she been getting the plan. The two hop up and go. But this time Metal Sonic turns and parry's Amy's attack. Badly injuring her. But Surge quickly gives more than enough. Metal Sonic is powerless to stop her and basically gets turned into scrap. Amy notices that Surge goes harder on Metal Sonic this time. Surge defeats him quickly then goes over to Amy to check on her.

"Pinky are you okay?"

"Yeah, Surge… did you just call me pinky?"

"Oh my gosh, you're injured, I'll get you back, quickly!" Surge picks her up and runs fast, really fast. Making sure Amy isn't hurt on the way there, making her more injured. Surge carries her bridal style. Making Amy blush. She doesn't know why Surge is acting this way. But she isn't complaining. It's nice for someone to worry over her, even if she doesn't know why.

Surge busts into the restoration. Amy calms her down before she starts shouting about how Amy needs help. Amy does thank her, and says that she'll make sure to take care of herself. Surge seems happy with herself and tells her she'll see her later. Only to come back out of her room to ask where Kit is. Amy doesn't know herself but they end up finding the two in Jewel's office after having a conversation.
