Chapter XIV: Views And A Droid.

Easy Is The Path To Wisdom For Those Not Blinded By Themselves.

Naruto recalls a time when Jedi Master Mace Windu assembled a small covert team composed of him, Kit Fisto, Prosset Dibs, and Rissa Mano to investigate Separatist activities on the remote planet Hissrich. And came to blows with a mercenary droid AD-W4 who has a penchant for murdering Jedi. Meanwhile, while training recruits, Fordo recounts to the Shinies a story when Naruto risked his life to save him and gain an unlikely ally in the War.

Coruscant Underworld.

"See! I told you this would be great!" Naruto said as he and Oola were sitting in a restaurant drinking.

"Yeah, you were right."

After finishing their drinks, Naruto called a human waitress to order food for them. "How is everything?" Naruto asked as they waited.

"Good? Why do you ask?"

"Contrary to popular belief, I do care for those working for me. I mean, no one's found out about you have they?"

Oola shook her head at that. "No, they're drunk when they say anything in the club or brag to the dancers about anything."

"That's good."

A Few Days Later, Coruscant.

"Oh come on, it'll be fun, you need to loosen up."

Aayla said to Barriss as they walked into a dancing club.

"I know but…" Barriss tried to stop before they saw Naruto inside with his leather jacket and BD.

"No buts let's go and unwind," Aayla said, pushing Barriss in.

They spent the next hour dancing together with the crowd on the dance floor, eating, drinking, and going to a free table to talk.

A Few Days Later; Coruscant, Knight's Billet.

Naruto and Aayla laid in their bed, sheets covering them as sweat rolled down their foreheads.

"That was great as always."

"Yeah," Naruto said before Aayla looked at him.

"How was your mission?"

"A bit stressful," Naruto replied, moving a hand behind his head.

(Flashback.) (1.)

Coruscant, Jedi Council.

Mace stood in front of his fellow Council members about a mission. "Master Windu, member of this Jedi Council you are. Know how dire our current situation is, do you?" Yoda asked from his chair.

"War seeks to tear our Republic asunder. We must prevent it at all costs, Master Yoda." Mace replied hands behind his back.

"Indeed, but diminished our numbers are. We all must take on the burden of leadership. Your mission, we present to you now. Day by day, grow, the Separatists' numbers do. Their reach extends farther and farther to the Outer Rim."

"Power flows in concentric circles. Establishing a foothold in the Outer Rim before moving towards the Capital." Mace said to Yoda before Ki-Adi-Mundi spoke from his spot via hologram.

"One of those footholds appears to be the jungle planet Hissrich. A large number of Separatist vessels have made planet-fall there in recent days."

Plo Koon with his cloak on and the hood up then spoke. "You will lead a small unit to monitor the Separatists' movements and determine what their purpose is. Due to the clandestine nature of this mission and our forces are thinly stretched resources, we cannot offer you a clone squadron for support."

"The Jedi have trained our whole lives for missions like this," Mace said, turning to Plo Koon. "We will make do."

We understand you have already selected those who will accompany you on this mission."

"I have. Fellow Council member Kit Fisto. He fought bravely by my side on Geonosis and I can think of no one who I trust more to go into battle with me. His skills with a lightsaber are unrivaled and, as a Nautolan, his aptitude for surviving in harsh environments will prove invaluable. Prosset Dibs. His lack of eyesight has gifted him with great intuition. He is as in tune with the Force as any Jedi I have known." Mace said before continuing.

"He will provide valuable insight and reconnaissance for this mission. Rissa Mano. A pilot rivaling the skills of Master Plo Koon himself. She may be young and a recent addition to the rank of Jedi Knight but her mind and engineering and her potential in battle exceed someone her age. And Naruto Uzumaki. He has proven to be one of the smartest Jedi in his age group if not older. If anyone can make a plan where we come out the victor it's him. We are ready to set out if it pleases the Council. May the Force guide us all."

"Master Windu, a final word, before your journey." Mace looked to Yoda as the other members left. "Troubled you seem, my friend. Care to lighten your burden, hmm?"

"These are troubling times. Doubt clouds my mind, although I am loath to admit it."

"Doubt not the ways of the Force. It tests us at times, but believe it will lead us where we are meant to be, we must. Similarly, doubt not yourself, you are a wise and capable leader." Yoda explained holding his cane.

"Too many lives were lost on Geonosis, too many flames extinguished. How can I ask more of my men to follow behind me to the slaughter?" Mace asked as Yoda nodded.

"How many more will be lost if you do not? All the more reason we must fight. Understand your thoughts, I do. But give into them, you must not. Trust in the Force, trust in yourself. As trust in you I do, as well.

"Thank you, Master Yoda."

Later.

In a Jedi T6 shuttle, Mace was talking to Rissa, a young humanoid alien with pink skin, eyes, and hair in tan robes and tunic.

"The Westwind is the fastest transport ship this side of Corellia. Thanks to a few personal modifications made in my spare time." Rissa said hitting a few buttons. We should arrive at Hissrich in no time.

"Than you, Rissa."

"And because you're so nice, I'll scramble our signal, masking our grand entrance to the target location."

"Excellent, the Separatists cannot know we're coming," Mace said as she reached up for a lever.

"Stealth, love it."

In the back, Kit Fisto stood as Naruto with his armor was sleeping on a couch with BD sitting beside him and another male Jedi on another couch beside him. He's wearing a brown cloak with the hood up showing he's a dark skin humanoid alien.

"Wake up Naruto, Prosset. We neared our destination."

"Eyes as big as moons and yet you see so little Master Fisto," Prosset said moving his head and Naruto saw he was wearing a blindfold.

"Your wit precedes you. I'm looking forward to working alongside you on this mission." Kit said, crossing his arms.

"There's nothing about this mission I'm looking forward to. The Force… It shudders. War is no place for a Jedi."

"Sometimes you gotta be the protector instead of a peace officer Prosset," Naruto said standing as BD jumped on his back.

"We are exactly where we're meant to be," Mace said as he and Rissa walked in.

Prosset took his hood off and showed long grey hair.

"We're about to make a planet-fall on Hissrich. This is not a well-documented planet. So, we must be ready for opposition from the local fauna as well as the droid army we are here to monitor." Mace explained as they all stood. "The planet is in a state of near-perpetual dark only gathering light from a distant sun for about one hour per monthly cycle."

"How fortuitous that the darkness shall be our alley." Kit said as Mace nodded.

"Precisely. This is a covert operation. We discover what the Separatists' interests are on this planet and we shut them down." Mace explained before a red light came on above them. "Exiting hyperspace now, we've arrived. Now is the time to change into your new mission attire. It will help regulate body temperature on the humid surface below as well as blend with the darkness to our advantage."

Hissrich, The Outer Rim.

"Steel yourselves, Jedi," Mace said as everyone had black bodysuits under their robes. "Our mission begins now." He finished as they got to the planet and started landing.

It's a jungle planet illuminated only by several faunas. They then landed and walked out.

"Scans show the main droid outpost is a few Klicks due West of our current location," Rissa explained as BD on Naruto's back beeped.

"We will stick to the ground, let the flora act as our cover. We know not what to expect here, stay sharp. Be safe… Prosset, a word." Mace said having the two take several steps forward.

"Master Windu, before you say anything. I must apologize for earlier. I meant no disrespect, I've been told I have a great mind. My only downfall is I tend to speak it."

"Often, and out of turn," Mace interjected as Prosset continued.

"Yes, those as well. But if you'll lend me an ear?"

"I'm uncertain if I'll get back, but continue."

"I feel an unease in the Force. All of our teachings and beliefs are being tested. I find myself unsure of the steps in front of me. I sense you feel it as well."

"War breeds confusion. We must hold the teachings you mentioned close to our hearts. Some of those teachings include combat because at times that is necessary. And for the beliefs? Master Yoda tells us to believe in the Force and ourselves. You will find the path you are on is the right one." Mace said as back with the others, Rissa was giddy at working with Mace.

"I can't believe I'm on a mission with Mace Windu himself!"

"He is an exemplary figure of the Jedi principles." Kit said as he stood beside Rissa.

"He's… He's incredible! I have studied his teachings since I was a Youngling. His style of lightsaber combat has been the foundation of my own. He is a top-five Jedi Master of all time for sure!"

"And where do I fall on this great list?" Kit asked as Rissa turned to Mace.

"Oh, you're… Top twenty to thirty for sure Master Fisto. Nothing to be ashamed of."

"Your comfort in light of this revelation is much appreciated, Rissa."

"Quiet, get low," Mace said, getting their attention.

Naruto saw a group of B1 droids with a spider droid as they hid in the bushes.

Naruto started to move closer before Mace turned on his saber and attacked with Rissa who had a blue saber. All of them ran out as Prosset turned on his saber revealing it's green as super droids attacked as well. Naruto ran with both his sabers on and sliced several droids before Prosset stabbed the spider droid.

"Thanks for the assist," Prosset said to Kit. "Guess that's what I get for not having eyes in the front or back of my head."

"I take it you have a large repertoire of eye-related humor."

"Deeper than the Jedi archives themselves. I'm just getting started."

"Good work team," Mace said standing over a droid. "This was just a small group."

"Yeah, we should be ready for more," Naruto said, putting his sabers away before pulling them back up. "You feel that?!"

"Yeah, we're surrounded."

A few miles away, a droid watched the Jedi get surrounded before getting on its hover speedster and ran off to a building where it ran to another droid.

"Commander, Commander, We have Jedi."

The droid in shadow shook his head. "(Sigh) How many times do I have to tell you not to call me-!"

"Jedi?!" Another B1 droid yelled. "What do we do commander?"

"Don't call me-! Just give me that!" The droid said reaching to take a Holocron and showed the Jedi. "Like your pre-programmed drones, the Jedi are slaves to their doctrine. A childish adherence to their Force. Fascinating what folly organics place their faith in." The droid said as lights came on revealing he was a different droid.

He's tall, with red photoreceptors and purple plating with red markings.

This is AD-W4, a Mercenary Droid.

Caves.

The Jedi used their sabers as light followed a green alien with our fingers, two toes, and had an extra joint in his legs wearing tattered clothes that lead them into a cave with a torch. They debated on what species the alien is before they came up to an underground city illuminated by plants on top of the cavern.

As they talked about how long the Separatists have been on the planet as well as what they want, one of the aliens pointed to a downed B1 droid. "Rissa," Mace said as Rissa put on goggles as BD jumped down and looked at the droid as well.

"It's a scout, I might be able to recover its memory if-!: She stopped as the ground shook as the plants above went up into the ceiling.

"Something must be pulling the plants out of the ground!" Naruto yelled as BD got on his back.

Suddenly, a hole was made on the ceiling before droids came down on hover crafts and Droidekas rolled down and started firing. The Jedi blocked and deflected the blasts as Naruto saw Mace fighting with AD-W4 who held a staff before he was pushed away. AD-W4 then had a gun come up on his right arm and shot at Mace who deflected it before jumping at the droid.

The droid then flew up via thrusters before throwing a ball of metal debris at the Master, having him fly to the others before Naruto, Rissa, and Mace followed up in the hole as the droids escaped. They then saw a large spider droid bringing the plants into it. "It must use the plants for power?" Naruto asked as regular spider droids attacked them before slicing through several.

They then ran to see the large spider droids destroy acres of the planet before they ran down and started to slice the legs. They each threw each other their lightsabers when each got to a leg to help to cut through them. Naruto saw B1 droids walking to them before taking out his pistol to fire at them. Once dealing with the droids they ran back to the cave and came up to two droids standing watch in an area.

They looked to each other before Naruto's shoto spun through their necks with both blades on before spinning back to Naruto. "If they're looking for us… Do we strike when no one's home?" Rissa asked as Mace shook his head.

"No, not without our whole unit." They then walked back to their ship where it started to rain as Kit and Prosset walked up.

"You've lied to us from the outset. The Council had no idea such a valuable energy source existed? You insult our intelligence. And our integrity." Prosset said to Mace as he walked up to the Master.

"Master Dibs, what are you saying? Of course, the Council didn't know. We came here to stop the Separatists!" Rissa exclaimed in shock as Prosset scoffed.

"So naive, young Jedi. Wake up, girl! The Council is using you. You're a pawn. No more than a clone in Jedi attire."

Prosset then started voicing his disagreement with the Jedi's role in the Clone Wars. He made several accusations against both Windu and the Council, ranging from callousness towards collateral damage to corrupting the Jedi doctrine, and proceeded to physically assault Windu with a punch. Dibs then ignited his lightsaber having Mace follow suit.

They then clashed in a test of strength. "We are brothers Master Dibs, cut from the same cloth. Chosen to walk down the same path. You would throw all that away?" Mace asked before blocking a strike at the legs.

"All I throw away is a Jedi Council who turned its back on our teachings. This is not our true way. You cannot change the ideology of our Order to fit your whims. War for the sake of peace? Where I'm only so gullible, Master Windu." Prosset said before striking from above.

"It is the option that is laid out before us. We did not want this. But if I must pick up a weapon to protect what I know to be right, then so be it! We do not train in lightsabers so they could stay at our waists. Such is the will of the Force."

"You know nothing of the Force!"

"(Beep Trill!)" BD beeped as Naruto patted him on the head.

"I know buddy. But sometimes you gotta fight." Naruto said as the two clashed blades several times before Mace knocked Prosset down and knocked him out before they brought him on board and put him in a straitjacket.

Later.

The four Jedi came to the droid building and blasts through the wall having Kit jump out with Naruto to fight the droids as Rissa and Mace went to sabotage a supply ship that was scheduled to leave with the new power source. The two Jedi fight through the droids before being joined by Rissa before they see the large ship fly into the atmosphere and explode in bright green light.

(Flashback End.)

"After that, Mace convinced the Council to have Prosset work in the library." Naruto finished before Aayla straddled him, flashing her nude form, and started grinding on him.

Maelstrom.

Naruto was finishing training his rookies in hand to hand combat as clones were showing others hobbies to do in their spare time before leaving. "That's enough for today men," Naruto said before walking away.

Fordo then took over before one of the rookies spoke. "Sir?"

"Yeah Shiny?"

"I was wondering if the stories about General Uzumaki are true sir? That he values us as much as regular people."

"Yeah, yeah it's true. He's always said 'A leader leads from the front.' Let me tell you a story of a couple of battles I was in with the General."

(Flashback.) (2.)

Horain Crantori System.

Fordo was pinned down by a group of droids before Naruto dropped down and deflected a laser.

"Anakin and Obi-Wan are busy with Vulture Droids so I'm the only one," Naruto said, throwing Droidekas away. "How'd you get in this predicament?"

"We found a gang of Horian kids holed up in a crater. Poor little mites were terrified. I helped them escape-"

"But got cut off from Vornskr Company in the process. That was good."

"Just doing my duty, sir," Fordo said before Naruto pushed him out of the way and sliced a Droideka before its shield went up.

Naruto then deflected a blast into the head of a B1 droid hitting its processor.

"Why are those droids attacking you?" The droid asked as sparks came off its head. "It doesn't seem fair as there are only three of you." The droid said as BD popped up over Naruto's shoulder.

The droid then started attacking the other droids as well. "Well, now I've seen everything," Fordo said as the droid was helping them.

"Wanna switch sides?" Naruto asked the droid who saluted.

"You bet! Battle droid B1-0516 at your service."

"Bit of a mouthful," Fordo said, taking shots. "How about Bats?"

"Sounds good to me!"

Later, the three came up with a plan for the newly named Bats to go and attack the base undercover before seeing Bats come out in a tank that they used to go back to Anakin and Obi-Wan.

"Looks like you brought a friend," Anakin said as the three jumped out of the tank.

"Yeah, this is Bats. You never know when an undercover droid could come in handy."

"Do I get a laser sword? Do I? Do I? Pleeease?" Bats asked as they walked to a gunship.

Mimban.

Fordo was leading a group of clones with other Jedi in a large battle."Mind Jumpers, back up General Laan Tik!"

"I can take care of myself, Commander!" He yelled before being hit

"We're taking heavy fire here sir!" A clone yelled as he ran up to Fordo.

"Fall back!" Naruto yelled, twirling both his blades in front of him.

Several Hours Later.

Fordo was surrounded by B1 droids before Naruto's shoto spun around them, cutting their heads off.

"You alright?" Naruto asked Fordo who got up.

"Yeah."

"Why are you out here? You disappeared from our briefing on what to do next?"

"Getting to that building," Fordo said, pointing to a building in the forest.

"Alone?"

"'A true leader leads in the front'."

"Heh!" Naruto chuckled before seeing a large group of droids walking to them. "Let's go!"

They then ran to the group with their weapons up.

(Flashback End.)

After finishing the story, Fordo continued helping the rookies train.

In Naruto's Quarter's He was finishing up the seal at his desk with BD who was on a top shelf looking down. "OK, finished it." He said before rolling the scroll up.

He then did several hand signs and slammed his hand down having the scroll disappear in a cloud of smoke.

Konoha.

Tsunade was standing behind her desk beside Shizune and looked to see Kakashi, Jiraiya, Hinata, and four other people, two men and two women inside her office.

The first woman was standing beside Hinata.

She is a fairly tall woman who has a slender frame. She has light brown, pupil-less eyes. Her violet hair is styled in a short, spiky, fanned-ponytail. She's wearing a fitted mesh bodysuit that covers her from her neck down to her thighs. Over this, she has a tan overcoat with a purple in-seam and a pocket on each side, a dark orange mini-skirt, a dark blue belt, and pale grey shin guards. She also has a forehead protector and a small pendant that looks like a snake fang and a wristwatch.

This is Anko Mitarashi, a Tokubetsu Jōnin and Hinata's current teacher.

The next is a tall and well-muscled man. He has fair skin, a strong jawline, a somewhat large nose, and has black hair in a shiny bowl-style and thick eyebrows. He's wearing a green jumpsuit, orange striped leg warmers, and the standard Konoha flak jacket, which is unzipped. He has a red forehead protector that is worn around his waist like a belt.

This is Might Guy, a Jōnin.

The next is a fair-skinned woman of slender build. She has long black untamed hair reaching her upper back and very unique eyes that are red in color, with an additional ring in them. She's wearing make-up consisting of red lipstick and purple eyeshadow. Her outfit consists of a red mesh armor blouse with only the right sleeve visible.

Overall the very broad material resembles bandages with a pattern on it similar to those of rose thorns. Her hands and upper thighs are also wrapped in bandages and she has the Konoha forehead protector and regular shinobi sandals.

This is Kurenai Yūhi, a Jōnin and Hinata's Genin teacher.

The final is a tall man, with brown eyes, olive skin, short black spiky hair, and a beard. His clothing consisted of the standard Konoha ninja uniform with the sleeves rolled up halfway, a flak jacket, regular shinobi sandals, and a forehead protector. He also has a sash that had the kanji for "Fire" marked on it around his waist, a pair of black bangles, and bandages wrapped around the arms of his sleeves.

This is Asuma Sarutobi, a Jōnin, a member of the Sarutobi clan, and a former member of the Twelve Guardian Ninja.

"So, he was able to reply?" Jiraiya asked as Tsunade nodded after briefing the people in the room as well as sworn them to secrecy.

"Yes," Tsunade answered before pulling the scroll and opened it. "One problem though."

"What's that?" Anko asked hands in her pockets.

"Well, he said he's fine but also sent this that said it'll explain everything." She said holding a circular device.

"What's that do?" Kurenai asked as Tsunade saw a button before pressing it.

It lit up having her drop it on the desk before a hologram of Naruto came up.

"Before anyone says anything, this is a recording… Or a tape." Naruto said before explaining about where he was, about various Aliens species, Countless Worlds, Technological Level on Medicine, that they can go to Space flying vehicles and the Senate.

He continued explaining his joining the Jedi Order and training as a Jedi and explained that he hasn't quit being a ninja rather the Oder asked for his help and brought up Asuma joining the Guardians surprising everyone that he knew that. And about the start of the Clone Wars and how he is fighting in it and is a General, or Jōnin for an easier explanation.

And how he is now dating Aayla with a hologram showing what she looks like.

"Nice," Jiraiya said, focusing on her chest before being hit with a paperweight.

Tsunade noticed Anko and Hinata becoming disappointed at that tidbit before speaking. "I guess I should tell you that with Naruto being the last Uzumaki, and Naruto showing new powers with him moving stuff with just raising his hand. He falls under the Clan Restoration Act."

That seemed to brighten their mood before Jiraiya was standing with a large bump on his forehead before the recording sighed. "I should also say… That six years have passed for me, not three."

Jiraiya turned to Tsunade before speaking "We should find a way to get him back as soon as possible if time is moving fast for him."
