Chapter XVIII: Trespassers Storm.

Arrogance Diminishes Wisdom.

Republic outpost, overrun! The Jedi have lost all contact with the clone security force stationed on the bleak, snow-covered planet of Orto Plutonia. Naruto Uzumaki and Zule Xiss, accompanied by dignitaries from the nearby moon of Pantora are sent to investigate the disappearance of the clone troopers on the desolate and forbidding landscape.…

Orto Plutonia.

Gunships flew down to the snowy ground and opened revealing Naruto and his Padawan in grey and black snow clothes and goggles with BD on his back before they walked out. Looking back he saw Alpha and a squad in the cold climate armor that had thermal seals and flaps around the neck, arms, stomach, and legs.

"Alpha, have the men survey the area and place as many sensor beacons as we can before dark."

"Roger Sir!"

As his men got ready, Naruto saw Riyo and a male Pantoran walk out of the other gunship with winter clothes as well as a grey protocol droid.

"General Uzumaki!" The man said as Naruto turned to him.

"I think it'll be safer to stay on the ship until we see if it's safe Chairman Cho," Naruto said, crossing his arms. "It's nice to see you again Senator Chuchi."

"And you as well, General Uzumaki," Riyo said nodding to the Jedi.

"I respect your judgment General Uzumaki, but I will go where I chose, this is sovereign Pantora territory," Chi said as they stopped at the two.

"I thought this planet was uninhabited?" Zule asked, crossing her arms. "And therefore unaligned."

Chi looked to the Padawan before speaking. "Our moon of Pantora is the only civilization in this system! I'm the one who asked the Senate to protect this planet! This wasteland belongs to us!"

"That's for the Senate to decide, not you," Naruto said as Chi glanced at Riyo.

"But the Jedi report to the Senate and that happens to be Senator Chuchi of Pantora."

Riyo then walked up to Naruto. "I'm afraid technically speaking, the Chairman is correct. Due to it being uninhabited, the Moon of Pantora reserves the right to continue as its protectorate."

"Point taken Senator, stay with my Padawan while I make sure the base is safe," Naruto said before walking to the door in the mountain and opening the door.

And revealed that it was empty with clone helmets on spears.

"It must be Separatists!" Chi said as Naruto looked over his shoulder.

"Then where's the droid bodies? No, I think this is something different." They then walked up to the command area and saw dead clones. "The computer's untouched, that's the first thing they'll get on to send out a fake signal that everything's alright."

"Sir, we've scouted a droid base nearby," Alpha said walking up to Naruto.

"Then we'll go check it out then."

Later, Naruto, Zule, Alpha, and a couple of other clones rode in larger red-painted bikes. It has two sets of landing gear and an integrated windscreen.

They then came up to a small building and walked out, Naruto and Zule having half masks covering the lower part of their faces. They saw droid heads on spikes as well before walking in and saw headless droids in firing position. "There are large footprints here!" Zule yelled as BD jumped off of Naruto, ran over, and scanned it.

"Whatcha got buddy?" Naruto asked BD who ran over and had a hologram come up.

"Talz?" Naruto asked as a creature came up in the hologram.

He's bipedal standing at 2.5 meters tall. He's Bulky and covered head to toe in thick white fur. He also has four eyes He has a small proboscis extremely large hands and a set of sharp-clawed talons.

"What, Master?"

"It looks like this place isn't uninhabited."

In the other base, Chi was ordering the clones to take the bodies away as Riyo looked around. "Why do you think this was Separatists, Chairman Cho?" She asked.

"Isn't this carnage enough?"

"No, like General Uzumaki said, there's no droid bodies, no blaster marks, I've seen that. There's nothing of the sort here."

"So you're an expert on war now?"

"No, but I've seen droids fighting not too long ago, this doesn't match."

"Let me tell you something, Senator. I have led our people since before you were born. I've seen a hundred planets rise and fall through the force of arms. If it's not the Separatists out there, then it is an aggressive and malevolent enemy nonetheless, and I will not let whoever it jeopardizes the security of the people of Pantora." Chi said walking to the elevator.

"If the Jedi discover the Separatists aren't behind this, then there's a chance for a peaceful solution."

"Senator, I am willing to fight and die for my people, it's time to ask yourself if you are brave enough to do the same."

"It takes courage to make peace Chairman… Or we're no different from the Separatists," Riyo said as the door closed on the Chairman.

Naruto, And Zule.

In a canyon, Naruto saw something on a ridge before pulling binoculars out and looked through them. And saw a glint. "There's a glint on that ridge."

"There's another one over here, Master."

"I guess they know we're coming," Naruto said before they got on their bikes and left.

Missing Talz watching them from the top of the canyon. Going to the end they came across huts on the ledge after crossing a rock bridge and saw Talz on alien lizards. "Steady, Zule, they're just curious," Naruto said, walking up to the aliens that took them to a hut where they saw one Talz who started speaking.

Naruto tried to speak to them before Zule drew a picture depicting two individuals shaking hands as a sign of peace. The Talz understood what Zule was trying to say, and agreed to a meeting to discuss peace with the Republic and hugged Naruto before they left. Going back to the base they saw Chi and Riyo walking in the hanger.

"What did you find out?"

"That people are inhabiting the planet," Naruto said to the Chairman who raised an eyebrow.

"That's impossible! Our people have spent time there over the long history of Pantora, they're trespassing!"

"They're not advanced enough for that," Naruto said, crossing his arms. "The Talz probably stuck to the canyon and your people just missed them."

"Whoever they are, they belong to us!" Chi said as Naruto raised an eyebrow.

"Careful, that sounds like slaver talk. And you're already walking on thin ice with me. Now that there are lifeforms here the Senate will decide on how to proceed."

"They're savages! Look at what they did to your troops!"

"They attacked the droids while my men just got caught in the middle. The Talz just want to be left alone." Naruto said as Chi looked to Alpha who was behind Naruto.

"Captain Alpha, prepare your troops for battle!"

"You don't order my men. Plus we would need to wait for the Senate now. If there's a chance for a peaceful solution I'm taking it." Naruto said as the clones looked at them and didn't move.

"He's right, Chairman. We only take orders from General Uzumaki or the one he gives leadership to for a mission."

"They want peace, I've arranged a meeting between them and you Senator," Naruto said to Riyo before Chi yelled.

"No! We need to attack!" The clones then reached for their weapons as Naruto looked at the Chairman.

"And I'm in charge of this mission now. We are talking!"

Chi suddenly grabbed Riyo and pulled a pistol on her as the clones followed suit. Before anything could be done, Riyo pulled a small blaster from her coat and shot Chi in the foot, having him yell out, let her go, and had Naruto stab him in the chest with his saber before turning it off.

Naruto looked to Riyo who was shaking before holding her by the shoulders. "It's OK Riyo, he tried to kill you."

After talking to her to calm her down, she went to inform the Pantoran Government about what transpired before they went back to the camp and saw a group of Talz with the leader Naruto talked to at his hut. They walked in and Naruto bowed to the leader. "As promised, we're here to talk," Naruto said before looking at the protocol droid. "Can you translate?"

"Of course." The robot replied before walking up as the leader spoke. "Chief Thi-Sen welcomes you into his home."

Riyo then walked up and started to speak. "We shall leave Orto Plutonia under the watchful eyes of the Talz from this day forth, and recognize your sovereignty as a free and equal people," Riyo said before everyone bowed.

Coruscant, Jedi Temple.

Naruto was reading a new scroll from Tsunade before reaching for a glass and took a drink before spitting it out as he looked at the last sentence. "Clan Restoration Act!?"

Later, he was explaining what he just read to Yoda and Aayla in Yoda's chambers.

"Multiple wives, you must take?"

"(Sigh) Yeah."

"Not too strange here either," Yoda said. "Come across many that have that practice, I have."

Naruto looked at his girlfriend at that. "You alright?"

Aayla sighed as she laid her head on his shoulder. "I'll admit it will take some getting used to having to share you… Though maybe now your stamina will meet its match."

Naruto smiled and kissed her forehead before turning to Yoda. "I have also made headway in finding a way back home. I should be done in a month or so."

"Good, good," Yoda said before the two Knights left.

The Maelstrom.

Naruto was talking to Thrawn with Zule about Ryloth. "We're making headway, sir. I think we might be able to free Ryloth."

"That's great," Naruto commented before walking to the hanger and saw two clones at a crate. "I see our newest recruit has arrived." He said as Fordo and Alpha walked over.

"Recruit?" One clone asked before the crate opened revealing Bats with a fixed head and now crimson red with a white swirl on his chest.

"Bats reporting for duty!" Bats said saluting.

"Welcome aboard Bats," Naruto said, saluting the droid as Fordo turned to Alpha.

"I never thought I would be fighting alongside a 'Clanker'."

Alpha glanced over to Fordo before speaking. "Things are always interesting with Naruto around."

"True though, what's next to join us, a vicious alien beast of some kind?"

Alpha laughs at that. "Knowing the General I wouldn't be surprised...Hell, my Credits are on a Rancor."

A Week Later, Ryloth.

The Rogue Shadow dropped down by a cave where Cham was waiting before Juno walked out with a crate on a hover-lift. "Here's the next shipment."

"Thanks, Juno," Cham replied before opening the crate of supplies and seeing a piece of paper.

Picking it up, he read Naruto explaining that the Republic Forces are on their way and will arrive in the next few days.

Planet Ryloth invaded! Subjected to a brutal droid occupation, the people of Ryloth are starving under the blockade of a Separatist fleet. Evil Separatist leader Wat Tambor now rules with an iron fist. Answering a plea from the Senate, the Grand Army of the Republic mounts a bold offensive to liberate the system. It is up to Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka to make way for Obi-Wan and Naruto's ground assault.…

The Resolute.

Ahsoka was getting ready in her Delta-7 with a gold and black astromech droid. "This is my first time commanding a Squadron R7. Let's make a good impression."

"(Trills)"

"Of course, I'm not nervous!"

"Hey, Snips!"

Ahsoka looked to see Anakin was walking toward her. "This is it, your first command. Don't be nervous."

"I wish everyone would stop saying that."

"The men you're commanding are depending on you with their lives."

"Thanks." She said sarcastically. "That takes the pressure off. If I wasn't nervous before, I sure am now."

"Trust me. I have faith in you. I wouldn't send you out there if I didn't think you couldn't handle it." Anakin said before walking away. "May the Force be with you."

"I won't let you down." She said as the cockpit closed.

Ahsoka then flies out of the hanger and charges the Separatist blockade, leading a squad of clones. After cutting a path to the lead Separatist ship, Ahsoka advances with her group. However, four more frigates suddenly jump out of hyperspace and join the blockade. Admiral Yularen and Anakin both order Ahsoka back to the ship, but she continues pushing forward.

After one clone ship blows up from a Vulture droid, Ahsoka finally obeys orders and turns back, but the Vulture droids begin to sacrifice themselves, ramming themselves into the Resolute. One droid heads for the cruiser's bridge and Admiral Yularen is severely injured. After losing another clone as well, Ahsoka and what remains of her squadron make it back to the Resolute. The Redeemer is too damaged to retreat and falls apart, but the Defender and the Resolute manage to jump to hyperspace.

In hyperspace, Ahsoka sat on her ship as Anakin walked to her. "Ahsoka, I'm very disappointed in you. You not only disobeyed the Admiral but you disobeyed me."

"But I thought I could take out the ships so when Master Obi-Wan and Naruto arrived, they could get through."

"I know you meant well Snips… But there's a bigger picture you're not aware of, the first rule of war: Listen and obey your superiors."

"But sometimes you get carried away!" Ahsoka said while standing up.

Anakin placed a hand on her shoulder at that. "That just means I know what you're going through. It was a trap, Snips, it wasn't your fault."

"I lost so many of my pilots."

"Take heart little one. That's the reality of command."

"General, we're approaching our staging area."

Looking over his shoulder at Rex, Anakin nodded. "Very good Captain."

"Master Windu has requested a report on our progress."

"Haven't made any," Anakin said with a sigh.

"I'll tell him, sir."

"No, I'll tell him myself," Anakin said, stopping Rex. "As soon as we tend to the wounded, give me a damage report." Anakin finished as Ahsoka left.

Anakin then left to report his losses to Mace Windu and Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan reminds Anakin to give his Padawan time to recover, but that he will need her help to complete the mission and they give Anakin one planetary rotation to breach the blockade or they'll have to postpone the invasion. Anakin stresses that the Twi'lek people can't wait much longer, and the invasion must go on.

In the Med Bay, Ahsoka sits with an unconscious Admiral Yularen, and mournfully apologizes for her failure. Rex then calls her away to Anakin, whom she finds in the hangar bay, repairing her starfighter with the help of R2-D2. Anakin tells her they need to proceed with their attack on the blockade.

"But we can't!"

Anakin turned to her as he stood up from ratcheting something on her ship. "Ahsoka, we have to break that blockade. The Twi'leks are depending on us."

"I understand that Master, but we lost so many men! Did we get more support?"

"No," Anakin replied looking at another part of her ship. "We have to make do with the men we have left. And come up with a plan."

"You don't even have a plan?!" Ahsoka yelled at Anakin.

"Don't worry, Ahsoka."

"No! That's what you said last time, and now everyone's gone! My whole squadron!"

"Ahsoka!" Anakin yelled turning to his Padawan.

"We can't just smash through that blockade."

Anakin stared at her before his comlink beeps and he answers it without breaking his stare with Ahsoka. "Skywalker here."

"General, the Defender is contacting us. There seems to be a problem." Rex said over the coms

"All right, Rex, I'll be right there." He said before looking at Ahsoka. "Go back to your quarters and cool off. We'll finish this talk later."

Anakin decides to go into battle with just himself and R2-D2 in the Defender before going to a small ship where he gives Ahsoka who was in the hanger in charge.

After getting everything ready, Anakin went into hyperspace and returned to the blockade. He hails Captain Tuuk, offering to surrender himself and his vessel in exchange for safe passage of food and medical supplies to the people of Ryloth. Ahsoka details the battle plan after Anakin's collision with the battleship

She intends to tilt the Resolute in a maneuver away from the frigates, using it as a screen to launch fighters that would then defeat the remaining ships. The navigation officer is doubtful and suggests taking time to come up with a better plan. Ahsoka asserts that these are her orders and that Anakin is counting on her, but then corrects herself and says that he is counting on them.

Admiral Yularen returns to the bridge and supports Ahsoka, giving her much-needed confidence. A battle droid reports to Captain Tuuk that scans of the Defender reveal it to be heavily damaged, with all power diverted to the forward shields, but there is only one life-form aboard. Tuuk realizes Anakin's deception, and the Resolute emerges from hyperspace.

Anakin heads the Defender straight for the Separatist flagship. Ahsoka heads off to command the fighter squadron, leaving Rex and Admiral Yularen in charge of the Resolute. Anakin leaves the Defender with R2-D2 and boards an escape pod. Captain Tuuk orders all cannons to fire at the Defender, but it is already too close, and he escapes from the ship.

The Defender pierces the center sphere of the battleship. The Resolute moves into position as Ahsoka leads a squadron of Y-wing starfighters toward the blockade. The battle droids, leaderless and confused, manage to order a basic attack on the Resolute, but the Republic Y-wings and V-19 Torrents manage to rip apart the remaining ships in the blockade.

Following this, three Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ships carrying Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, and their troops emerge from hyperspace. Obi-Wan contacts Ahsoka, wryly commenting on the state of Anakin's invasion fleet, and Rex dispatches a shuttle to pick up Anakin's escape pod.
