Author's Note: Happy birthday to our favorite pyromaniac otaku, Yumsaki Walker! Welcome back, my dear wastelings. It's that time again. Time to make another collection of side stories to expand the Wasteland world on the birthdays of the characters in Durarara! This time, I'm going to do something a little bit different. I am actually going to focus on the birthday characters for their vision pieces. In the past two stories, there were small mentions of a couple of canon characters. They were mostly OC-focused. You might see some OCs around in this collection. I will be writing this with my Facebook saves. The next birthday is going to be Shizuo's. I already know what I am doing then. For now, enjoy this first vision.

Liminal Visions

I: Christmas:

Ever since Kaori got her horse back, things started to break down even further in Ikebukuro. 2016 was the year that things spiraled further into the pits of the Wasteland. Before Chisa became Japan's first female prime minister, there were more little flares coming together to feed this endless fire.

It all started with a strange little trip to the backrooms.

Walker

I think I have been here before.

I narrowed my eyes as I looked around. You know the feeling of something that tries to look normal but you can tell that something isn't right. Yeah, I am in that place right now. I don't remember exactly how I got here.

I frowned.

I don't think I like it here. It doesn't help that I keep hearing some music box playing "Jingle Bells" on a loop.

Jingle Bells?

I took another look around. Something about these rooms looked strange. Nine Christmas trees stood everywhere. Some of them had presents underneath them. Vintage-looking pictures and furniture added to this strange room. But Christmas ended three weeks ago. I shook my head. I think it's time to go.

I shoved my hands into my pockets and started walking.

These rooms were starting to look the same. Wait... Am I in the backrooms? But how? How did I get here? I tried to remember what happened last night. I don't think anything exciting happened. I just went out with the group for dinner at Russia Sushi and then I came home. I didn't notice anything different as I walked to my apartment.

I frowned as I stopped in my tracks. Where's the exit around here? I looked around. I'm not seeing a way out of here. Hm…

I felt around in my pocket. Of course I didn't have my phone on me. Not like it would've done me any good anyway. The only thing it's good for now is getting on the internet and reading manga.

How long has it been in here? I have never worn a watch in my life. Who does anymore? Why didn't I take my phone with me? I could've sworn that I had it in my pocket before I did whatever I was going to do. What was I doing again?

I lifted my head and looked around.

I thought I heard something. My hand reached back into my pockets. My fingertips brushed up against a book of matches. Good. I whipped my head around. Come on, I know you're there. I puffed up my cheeks and frowned.

I was getting bored in this endless land of Christmas under yellow-stained lights. I started walking again.

Everything started to look the same around me. I might be going around in circles. There was no way to tell the difference of where I was going. Still, I had to get out of wherever this place was. The music from that jewelry box was starting to annoy me.

I turned around as I heard someone running up on me.

"Yumacha!"
