Chapter 12: Becoming Friends
Another day had risen for everyone for the day in the compound but right now some of them where just sore. As groaning in complete pain right now was gus who rubbed his face in annoyance
"Dude i'm so sore its not even funny…why are the old ghost of the family jerks"raxton whined as autumn rubbing her head with her ear twitching as nila frowned with an ice pack on her shoulders. Nioma was stretching out her very sore limps with ellen rubbing her tail that was yanked on yesterday. As shi had replacement glasses but rubbed her aching head. While nyx rubbed her neck
But anger that their all hurt where their mothers as scared was loba and yenna who clung to natalia who kept the two close to her. As the others where in the sickbay for their plague right now with velvet growling in rage
"I hate how your dumb family is like this"velvet said to the grave family members with chie sighing at her
"Were sorry dear but i'm sure desdemona training wasn't this brutal"chie said but joey was close by along with his sister kami as the two siblings shared some looks for a brief moment
"Ummm dear the training for our older sister was quite brutal for her as well"kami said making them eye her as joey sighed placing his cane on his lap
"She is not wrong. That training needed to be changed but at least christopher was kinda with his training. He taught her the right way on the archangels training their replacement. The ones she selected are…brutal for teachers"joey said in disgust
"You mean how their all racist and are rude to us…has their seriously never been a faunus as an archangel"ellen asked as some of the family shared looks

"Or better yet have my lovely wife say hi. She wouldn't mind coming back from the dead to pinch their little cheeks again"slade said with a grin on his face as lilith sighed at that
"I do miss mother but its nice that we can talk to her at times….when was the last time we even did that"lilith questioned as loki shrugged his shoulder

"Right forgot today we planned on visiting the museum with the kids. We still on for that?"may asked a few others with astrid laughing
"Heck yeah we are i mean this one here wants to sit on the throne you take your picture at"astrid said presenting sakura who was sucking on her pacfier with diasy smiling
"Yeah trip"daisy cheered not knowing what it was as harper smiled
"I'm done beats hanging here and getting coughed on"harper said as some others joined right now with nick eating some food with moritcia eyeing him for a brief moment
"Oh i think these two should come as well it'll help them get out of the house"she said pointing at nick and josia right now but viola glared at her for that as her baby sister coco was going with them as she slammed her hand on the table
"No! That jerk is probably gonna mess with my siblings like he did with me!"viola shouted making eyes on her as fenix sighed rubbing his face
"Dear come on we told you that the kid just had a bad homelife be nice. "Fenix said but she glared at him
"That piece of trash bullied me after i lost my leg! Because right now i just want him out of our house because screw his stupid sisters! They deserve to be in foster care or split up for how he treated us!"viola said not realizing her words with some freezing hearing that as nick looked away with cardin eyeing the faunus right getting up before grabbing the girl by her wrist
"Where talking kid"cardin said dragging her away as they got silent for a bit continuing to eat breakfast
With the man bringing her outside viola kept trying to break free but he had a tight grip on her hand. As he made a brief call to someone but he began to drag her out of the house. As he did they boarded a shuttle as she tried to leave but he kept stopping her eyeing her down the entire time
"Kid sit down now"cardin ordered firmly as she growled at him
"Are you seriously going to scold me for saying the truth"viola said but he scoffed as the shuttle they were on landed as he stepped off with her glaring at her to follow. The girl scoffed as she did slowly following him through the streets of vacou right now.
As she did slowly they made their way to someone as right now sitting at a simple cafe was none other than gwen who stared up at them with some coffee already ordered and ready for them.
"Bout time you came here winchester"gwen said as he sat down pulling a chair out with viola sitting down with a huff as her ears drooped over.
Their was some silence between the three of them for a bit before it was broken by viola
"Am i seriously in trouble for what i said"viola asked as gwen was notified over a text on what happened at the house right now as she scoffed at her
"Kid right now you have alot of nerve to say that to someone its really rude. I thought you were raised better than that"gwen said coldly as viola was confused why they where scolding her
"Are you two seriously scolding me for stating facts on the person who ruined my life"viola argued as the two adults shared a few glances as cardin sighed rubbing his face for a moment before staring at her
"Kiddio…you know how me and your mom used to hate each other that i used to bully her"cardin asked as she got silent on that. As she did know that when she overheard them say that one day with him and other explaining how he used to give her birth mother some trouble back then. Though they got over it and became great friends now over the years now.
"I do…why bring that up?"viola asked as gwen sighed staring at her robotic arm clenching her fist tight feeling her skin touching the metal but she knew her old arm was long decayed as she decided to tell her a story
"Kid before i became friends with your mom. After the fall of beacon i lost my arm to that mutt conri…he tore it off my arm and i almost bleed out. But…that day i got lucky i survived that day and after that got my new arm. Though nothing of it at first but…i heard about your mom dating your dad when they where together. When it was only two of them"gwen said making viola look shocked hearing that for a moment as the women continued
"I hated that guy who was your dad blaming him for my arm when i lost it. But i took it out on her spreading rumors and insulting her. At the time they thought he was dead but he was in some dumb coma. And she was grieving her love and two teammates she lost that day. I kept treating her terrible like she deserved it. But she didn't….it was my fault for what happened to my arm"gwen said as she eyed her for a bit
"You remember how you lost your leg?"gwen said as viola looked down at her leg as the memorie of that day came back rushing to her head
Flashback three years ago
It was three years ago with a younger viola humming as she sat outside of her family home. As she was off to the side while some of her siblings where praticing fighting grimm her she was busy reading her books enjoying some time. As she had both her legs with her nose deep in a novel her aunt blake suggested to her though as she was reading her book someone tapped her on the head
Looking up she saw it was a younger cleo who smiled at her"sis are you seriously gonna bury your nose in that book of yours?"she aksed as close by was a younger trey who laughed
"Yeah i mean were practicing on some grimm look at that ugly thing"trey said gesturing to something as she recalled that grimm. It was a sobek their jaw are strong enough to tear someone limp off with ease even with their aura active
"Thats just a sobek their quite common here in vacou. Though i don't really like fighting not like i'll become a huntressess anyway"viola said beating herself up right now as placing a hand on her head was someone that being a younger kenji
"Come on your moms a big nerd but she was a huntresses. Besides she gave you her team name as your middle name honor them'kenji said making her blush right now
"I rather not i-"she was stopped as a loud sound was heard and some screaming. Looking over they saw the sobek break out from its chains as it looked around for some prey as it spotted tow younger kids who where watching as they screamed running away. With another grimm breaking out as cleo and trey ran over to deal with it as viola saw the sobek going for her siblings as instinct took over
Immediately she got up sprinting over toward the two as she was quicker than kenji. Jumping forward she tackled her siblings holding them in her arms but something was off as she felt intense pain in her right leg making her cry in pain. A loud gunshot rang out as the pain subsided but someone ran over shaking her
"Viola…viola! Please stay with us!"someone called out as she looked up to see her grandfather fylod their but she was confused as she stared down holding her two siblings in her arms that where okay but she felt light below
"What are you talking about i…"viola words stopped as she blacked out right then and then not recalling anything. Then she opened her eyes groaning right now as she looked around confused to see herself in a hospital room right now with her parents talking with a doctor right now as she stared at them confused
"Mom…whats going on?"she asked as her mother velvet covered her mouth walking over placing a hand on her lap
"Sweetie…i..i'm so sorry…please be prepared for what where going to show you"velvet said to her confusion but the doctor looked down moving the sheet as her eyes bulged out of her head. As her left leg was fine but on her right side of her body her right leg was missing making her slowly break into tears as her mother held her close in her arms to comfort her
Flashback end
As the memory was still fresh in her mind right now she looked down remembering what happened next. It took her a whole year to even consider getting a prosthetic leg since nick kept taunting her. Though she always was so confused on why he never did it before though she sighed thinking about what she said early to him and that little girl. She didn't even do anything and she snapped at her
"Let me guess i shouldn't have said that"viola asked as the two nodded
"Sweetie that little girl came from a terrible home life…she was abused and right now your parents are doing their best to give her the love a child needs. That other little girl almost died…i think you know what to do"cardin said as she sighed standing up
"Mind backing me up just incase"viola said as the two nodded
Quickly they made their way to the museum which wasn't that long of walk. As they arrived at a quite large building in design with their being some statues out front. But she sighed stepping inside hopefully to find the others right now
Elsewhere in the museum right now was nick with some of the others mainly being astrid, may, azula, shizuka, morticia along with some of the others. As with them for the children was daisy,coco, vicky, osia, yeena and loba as the women weren;t making these two participate in some dumb training exercise today. As right now also with them was harper, dylan, miu and reva as their was also haddock taking a breaking from research to show them the museum. As they where checking out some stuffed animals on display
"Now these little creatures are a type of bird what bird do you all think it is"haddock asked gesturing to a parrot right now as the tots stared at him as vicky pointed at it
"Red birdie"vicky cutely said as the man frowned for a brief moment as azula snickered rolling her eyes at her father in law
"They aint that much into history and science dad"astrid said as the man sighed
"I was really hoping one of them is but still some of them are."haddock hoped as morticia hummed eyeing some gothic architecture laughing
"Sometimes i wish our house was more like this"morticia said as wanda was their staring at the sight of the building that showed some old looking castle peeking her interest. Though may glanced over seeing cardin, gwen and viola with viola looking down the entire time as they joined them coco ran over hugging her sister legs
"Sissy'coco cutely said as she looked over at nick who looked away as she rubbed her arm
"Ummm can we talk real quick"viola said as he hesitated the two of them walked away from the other for a decent distance. But they soon ended up near something a display for the first ever prosthetic made that was for someone who was missing both their legs. Viola sighed looking down as they stood in silence for a brief moment
"Look if your here to tell me stay away from your sister…i…ummm…"nick was stopped by her
"No its just…god i'm sorry for early its just…whats your deal? I mean why did you always bully me when i lost your leg? My mom did date your dad who was your ex but why target me after i lost my leg. It…it hurt me emotionally and…i thought i'd never install a prosthetic leg ever in my life because you kept beating me down for no reason"Viola asked him
The two of them stayed silent for a brief moment as nick thought about all the terrible things he said to her over the years as he decided to tell her
"I was jealous"nick said making her look at him weird
"What?"viola asked as he sighed leaning against the railing separating them from the exhibit
"I felt jealous. I mean i have a pretty terrible family…your family is so perfect despite having so many moms…hundreds of siblings. Your dad used to be considered a monster but now…some people look at him like some hero. Mine…hes a drunk who tried to rape someone and hes got that label. When my mom married him they always got in fights everyday"nick paused moving his feet around looking down
"Everyday it kept getting worse and worse by the day…though mom ended up having cancer couldn't afford her medical bills she died. And dad came back home with a new mom and sister he cheated on her….but…that day i met her i ran out to blow some steam with my friends"he paused eyeing her before looking away
"Saw you getting wheeled around by a few of your siblings. Saying you did a good job for saving your siblings that you losing your leg makes you a good person. That your parents be proud of you…mine…my mom probably hate my guts right now for how i treated people…guess i am like my dad"nick finished wiping some tears off his face
As he stood their for a bit expecting her to just say he was lying. Though viola listened to every word he said right now as she took that in for a moment. It stunned her a little that he said all of that as she felt terrible how she acted and to hear that why he treated her terrible. For a brief moment their was silence between them as she sighed
"I'm sorry to hear that though….my parents always did say you should give someone that hurt you a second chance. My uncle cardin bullied my mom…and now their thick as thieves always smiling when they run into each other."viola said eyeing him for a moment as he stared at her seeing the tired look in his eyes as she sighed offering a hand as he stared at it
"I think i would like another boy around in the family…too many girls are already here"viola said as he chuckled
"Not gonna secretly strap me to some weird machine to shave my head bald"nick joked as she smiled slightly
"No well i'm thinking about it now"viola said as they shared a laugh walking back to the others. As they where at an exhibit that was close to where a certain witch was as the older teens where staring at the statue of salem right now with reva flinching
"God she looks creepy….man the books weren't lying about her being terrifying"reva said as cardin chuckled
"Try meeting her. I mean seriously shes messed up….made me almost pee my pants"cardin said as may shrugged her shoulder
"She definitely made me pee mine though thank my husband for getting rid of her. Shame ozpin old ex just wanted some love"may replied as the other two walked over as nick stared at them
"Oh right i read about that chick in the academy….she and the old beacon headmaster where some sort of lovers or whatever right"nick asked as viola leaned over
"Well lucifer our first family also bedded her with all his wives and then he stabbed her in the back"Viola said as he stared at her then at the statute then the mothers of the rabbit
"Huh guess dating weirdos is common in your family….that ones a pervy scientist"he said pointing at shizuka who frowned as may smirked seeing them getting along. Though wanda was staring at the statue of salem deeply right now which astrid noticed
"Creepy huh kiddio"astrid said but wanda didn't answer narrowing her gaze at it though suddenly someone whistling was heard
"Ughhh look one of the exhibits came alive"a familiar voice said as they looked over to see it was clarice with her friends and teammates right now laughing. With nyan laughing at them right pointing over at the one hybrid
"Look at that little freak are you gonna be a monster like your daddy"nyan taunted making vicky flinch right now clinging to the nearest person leg being her brother as dylan picked her up glaring at her
Azula glared at her flipping her off as byssi scoffed
"Oh right the slut who can't speak…need a pen and paper bitch"byzzi said as morticia glared at them as her and astrid took the kids away with haddock scoffing at her
"Quite rude to do that infront of someone family their children you pest"haddock said as regalia scoffed
"Their a bunch of kids related to sluts"Regalia said as they where trying to take them away but they where near the one entrance. As they where walking past them clarice had had idea as she ran over bashing her soldier into dylan side knocking him to the ground as he grunted with him dropping vicky who yelped
This startled them as vicky began to cry her eyes out right though the group of teens just simple laughed at that with clarice laughing as dylan held his side in pain moving slightly before crying in pain.
"Eat that you pricks. That mutt little family of sluts deserved that"clairce said but staring at her right now was wanda who growled at her. As something was slowly boiling up in her veins right now as wanda clenched her fist in rage right now as something was starting to happen to her
Suddenly her skin went from a fair color to something deathly pale right now as her eyes started to change into a black sclerae color with her irises becoming a glowing red color with her hair becoming slowly pale white on the bottom of her blonde hair. As she roared in rage as something happened at that moment. Suddenly from her hands something shot from them that being a rainbow like beam of something
As clarice looked over before she got hit in the face by it as it launched her into a nearby exhibit. This startled them as they looked with some flinching as wanda was growling in rage as a rainbow like aura covered her body
"Don't touch her!"wanda shouted in rage as her voice echoed as the lights in the museum slowly began to flicker scaring the teens right now as clarice groaned picking herself up from that hit scared for her life. Though wanda kept seething in rage before she clutched her hand wincing in pain right now panting heavily as she fell to her knees as the aura like shimmer disappeared
Their was silence as some guards came in getting questions before escorting all of them out. Though as they where some where staring at wanda right now with confused looks seeing her skin all white like a grimm now
"Okay….ummmm sis you good?"miu asked her as wanda groaned rubbing her head
"Yeah i mean ummm why is your skin all…white…and whats with your eyes"harper pointed out but wanda shook her head looking confused
"What are you talking about i feel fine"wanda asked as reva took a pocket mirror before showing her reflection making her go wide eyed right now
"Ah! What happened to my face and my skin!?"wanda questioned confused as they stared at her with gwen rubbing her head
"No clue kid lets get back to the house and figure this…out"gwen said as they began to walk though cardin and may hung back a little sharing some looks for a moment on what she looked like as cardin hummed
"That a good hum or bad hum"may asked as he shook his head
"Probably nothing but…kid kinda looks like salem if you look at her hard enough"Cardin pointed out as she rolled her eyes
"Salem dead their no way shes coming back from beyond the grave. The gods made sure of that"may said as they walked ahead as cardin shrugged his shoulder throwing that away in the back of his mind
Meanwhile back at the house in one of the levels in a room was lilith. Who right now was doing something to try and contact her nephew to warn him of what is going on. She knows their communications won't reach them but she hoped this will work right now as by her side was some old faces in the form of joey and kaur right now as she was doing something
Inside this room was a statue of the goddess of balance as she hoped her message would get to her. They use this statue to pray to her since their family are believers of who she was as she collapsed her hands together
"Please listen to my words great goddess of balance. I need you to deliver a message to my nephew who i'm sure made it to hopefully. Tell him their is trouble back home and he needs to return immediately his family needs him. Please answer me and give me a sign"lilith said aloud hoping for something right now. But she waited and waited for any sign but nothing even came as kaur sighed
"Nothing…dammit knew this wouldn't work lil"kaur said
"Come now kaur we have always gotten a sign of her hearing our calls but…to think that they let us get attack again is indeed strange"joey said cupping his chin as lilith stood up sighing with a worried look
"It takes time but…lets make sure the others are well right now i rather not have something terrible happen today"lilith said as they walked away closing the door to the room. As their was some silence for a bit one of the candle unlight on the alter soon light to a blue color as someone was listening
Though with that group right now they where now reaching the end of their journey. As they where staring at a set of familiar stairs that led to the goddess of balance domain as zane stared up at the top of the stairs with bane placing a hand on his back nodding to him
"You two sure we can't come i mean we don't know how long it'll take"vergil asked
"Beside i kinda wanna give her a piece of my mind for not helping out with the little issues of our world"pana added in anger but zane shook his head
"We need to go stay here and go grab the ship it took us a while to walk here. But go grab it i'm sure we'll need it"zane said as they hesitated nodding beginning the long walk back. As the two of them began to make their journey to the top of the stairs
It was long as it took them a while but after some time they soon reached the top of the paradise that is the goddess domain. Though as they stepped in suddenly bane disappeared into a haze as zane looked around hearing a hiss coming from his back sighing
"Why does he have to be in my back?"zane asked someone that being the goddess of balance who towered over him as she was in her humanoid form but smiled at him laughing
"You know why dear…take a seat lets talk i know your here to talk to me"the goddess said sitting down on a table and chair that appeared out of thin air as he sighed walking forward joining her for a nice chat right now.
Meanwhile with some of the others in the kingdom right now more importantly vance and the others. They where doing their best to try and come up with a plan of action to try and find these assassin and their base. But they where coming with nothing as faba sighed rubbing his face staring at the map of the kingdom
"Two days and we still have nothing to think this dam cult is hiding again"Faba said as also their was sun and port right now. Along with that was june, bonnet, miles, ramierez and nix who groaned in complete annoyance right now
"Dammit! I hate this i've spent two days looking for any sigh of those pricks at those mines. But all i found was well….mhmmmm"nix paused as she eyed someone in the room that being nadia who frowned at her
"That bitch vest should have stayed buried…lucky her corpse is rottening still"nadia said in a cold tone right now with rameirez sighing
"Bad enough we don't have comms access to command to let them know their here. But with the kid gone that familys a high value target"ramierez stated as miles rubbed his face
"You don't say man to think that mutt is back for round three. God i thought you all burned his body to a crisp"miles said as bonnet gritted her teeth

"So doc any news on your cure for the others?"june asked as the women looked down sighing with an upset look
"Look i've tried everything right now and nothing seems to be working. I'm starting to try old world cures from the past even. Modern medicine isn't even helping with their sickness…they just keep getting worse god…a little girl coughed blood today…blood"carmine cried right now worried for all those poor children right now as nezumi sighed rubbing her face
"You think where all not scared god i'm scared for me and wellers kids here"nezumi said waiting for her husband to speak up but vance stayed silent which they noticed
"Weller…hey kid you good?"faba asked as the lynx was staring at something in his hands that being a pair of dogtags as he held them close fighting the urge to cry as he thought about what happened to his second father figure
Flashback
It was a flashback to when vacou was attacked as the entire city was in utter chaos with grimm and cultist attacking everyone. But their was also some of that gas moving in though right now firing a rifle into the crowd of grimm was vance who roared in rage killing a few grimm right now. Though as he did from behind a cultist was sneaking up behind him
Though immediately someone grabbed him that being decker shaw who punched the freak to the ground before aiming his pistol firing into their skull killing them
"Watch your back always kid didn't i teach you that"decker said with a grin on his face as the lynx scoffed
"Sorry kinda focused on trying to find some of my family man can you blame me."vance replied as the former commander laughed taking aim at a grimm firing a shot killing it dead through the skull
"Well thanks to you found my brother in law and little girl…sorry you had to see that sweetie"decker said as elsa and artyom was their but elsa looked down
"You always told me killing someone always has to have a reason…their trying to kill us so i understand"elsa said as he smiled at her as they began to move forward through the battlefield right now aiming toward aiming grimm and cultist
Though as they did suddenly a pod came crashing down into the ground at that moment which they noticed as it went straight through a building to the other side
"Whoa! Heck of a entrance huh"artyom joked as suddenly vance radio came to life
"This is marrow amin! I got injured on a escape pod i have winter schnee with me! We need help now where…fuck off!"marrow shouted as gunfire was heard as the feed cut with the two men sharing a look running to help them.
As the two of them arrived at their destination right now trying to attack the escape pod where some cultist as they where opening fire onto the crew that made it out as one of the cutlist drove a dagger into the crew chest killing them. But marrow aimed a pistol firing a shot into their head killing them as he kept opening fire on them
"Crap we gotta help em i aint losing my big sister!"artyom roared running ahead as elsa sighed
"My uncle is so dumb"elsa muttered coldly summoning a few glyphs right now launching fireballs toward the grimm by their side. It took care of them with the lynx leaping forward as he rolled into a dodge to avoid a cultist gunfire. Then he swiftly wrapped his arm around their neck snapping it dropping them dead to the ground
As he rushed over toward the escape pod climbing up as he peered inside seeing winter laying their. With her groaning as her head was bleeding right now as he reached inside with a crew member their
"Thank god you came for an assist kid help me get the commander up"the crew mate said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder carrying her up to the exit as they stepped out with him stumbling as winter groaned barely consciousness right now as she had blood running down her head as elsa noticed her
"Mom! Please be okay"Elsa said with worry but vance looked to the skies going wide eyed as something was coming for elsa right now
"Kid watch out!"vance called out as elsa looked back as in the skies right now was rav who smiled as he was coming toward her. Time seemed to have slow down for him as the lynx reached to his side to draw out his pistol to try and gun him down though someone beat him to it
As suddenly decker leaped forward shoving elsa out of the way as she landed hard on the ground yelping. But then time seemed to resume as vance eyes widden in shock right now. As driven straight through the man who was friends with his father and was like a second father to him had a pair of claw dug into his chest. Decker spat up blood from his mouth as elsa looked up going wide eyed
"NO!"elsa let out a ear bleeding scream for her father as rav laughed digging his claws out of the man chest laughing in complete joy
"Oh well missed one but i got the leader….your next wolf that harper fellow talked about you"Rav said as suddenly the robotic clone froze as he looked toward the skies growling right now
"Scratch that…i gotta go"rav siad flapping his synthetic wings taking to the skies right now as he flew away. Decker groaned falling onto his face as elsa ran over shaking her dad with tears running down her face
"Dad…dad please stay awake…please stay awake"elsa cried and cired as vance was panicking right now

Right now vance was staring at the dogtags stained in old blood before he felt someone nudge him
"Vance..vance dear are you okay?"nezumi said snapping him back to reality as he stared at his wife with tears running down his face as the lynx took heavy breaths slamming his fist on the table fighting a sob back but slowly choke on one
"I should have helped him….god dammit…its happening again…i lost someone i cared about again"vance cried aloud as they got quiet knowing what he meant as faba took a heavy breath for a moment with sun looking down at the ground with nezumi softing her gaze hugging her love in her arms close as the lynx was fighting the urge to cry
