Chapter 4: I spy with my little eye... a rotten egg

Back on Sonic's World, Tails and the others were in his lab still figuring out what kind of phenomenon that was and where it had taken Sonic.

"So, how are we supposed to find out where that light took Sonic?" Amy asked.

"I'm... not exactly sure, regardless of our countless encounters with previous phenomena. However, I was able capture some of the effect of that light." Tails said bring out a vile of tiny dust.

"What do you suppose it is?" Asked Cream.

"I bet it's Eggman is behind this, he's advanced to pull off something like that." Knuckles said, but little did they know that they were being watched from a tiny robot spying on them.

The robot vision became a monitor and the scene backs out into a liar, and we see a shadowy figure watching the monitor.

"Hmph, sorry to disappoint you Noodles, But I wish that was me, finally being rid of Sonic." The figure said as it came into a light revealing to be Dr. Eggman himself.

"Of course, I can't always expect him to be no more so quickly, Iike a bug in your walls, he keeps coming back."

"Or Perhaps probably it could've been a average event that happens every century or more and Sonic is just somewhere else safely." Knuckles said.

"Then again, he still is lacking actual intelligence." Replied one of his minions, Orbot who softly facepalmed himself.

"I dunno Knuckles, I was just about to run an exam of it. Besides, there hasn't been any history of a beacon of light coming from the water before." Tails recalls his studying of the world's history.

"I don't care what that was, what matters is finding Sonic. And if Eggman is behind this, I'm Gonna Kick His Behind!" Amy said pulling out her hammer, being determined with Eggman sweat dropping like bullets, and then his other minion, Cubot, burst out laughing.

"Oh Man! I'd hate to be you right now." He continued laughing as Eggman grew a Vain

"I'll Gladly make you me If You Don't ZIP YOUR VOICE MODULATOR!!!" He Rored.

"At any rate, They're more busy about Sonic, I'm more focused on the light, perhaps it can be a reliable energy source." He grinned with a chuckle.

Flashback*

Eggman was at the other side of Emerald Coast sunbathing, with orbot fanning and Cubot being a drink holder.

"Faster Orbot!"

"Yes sir." Orbot replied as Eggman was feeling a bit parched, he grabbed for a glass and took a sip it.

"Ahh... that hit the spot." He said as he felt like being watch and looked over to a bunch of kids looking at him, concerningly.

"What are you looking at? Can't a Villain relax as well? Scram Before I Blast You Into Nothing!" He frightened the kids away.

"Hypocrites." Eggman pulled out binoculars and watch kids that were everywhere.

"Kids these days... having care free in the world... if it were me, I'd- Wait!" He passed something blue and went back to see Sonic from across relaxing as well.

"Oh look who it is."

"Mommy?" Cubot Guessed.

"So Blue Bush decided to have a day off too?" Eggman said also spotting Sonic's friends playing in the water.

"Well then, I would attack, but because I'm in a cool mood, as long as they don't bother me, I won't bother them." He said getting back into chill mode, until he felt no breeze, and began to grunt.

"Did I Order You To Stop Fanning?!" He yelled at Orbot, slamming his head.

"Apologies sir, but I'm detecting an unknown energy source, coming this way." He said as Eggman pulled his binoculars back out to find it, and the was nothing, but then he spotted the green glowing circle that was around Amy and Cream from the water.

"Hmm?" Then the light burst out of the water, blowing Eggman off his chair, he got back up to find a beacon of green light, he then also spotted Sonic running twords it to save Amy, and fell in, then disappeared, he then looked from suprised to grinning sinisterly.

"Well well, this could be... interesting, Orbot, I want a full scan report of that source immediately."

"Yes sir." Orbot obeyed as he returned to the liar to work.

"And you, fetch me more of that juice, I'm still thirsty." He ordered Cubot for another juice.

"Got it." He brought out from his insides but then spilled it on the Doctor's face, leaving his face to turn red.

"Oops."

"YOU IMBECILE!!!" He kicked Cubot high in the air, then crash landed into sand, face front.

"Orbot, have you found anything yet?" Eggman remembered his command to Orbot.

"Yes sir, here's what I've found so far." Orbot said loading it on the screen.

"Hmm... just as I thought, these readings are off the charts, the same amounts of energy from that mysterious light." The Doctor examined it, meanwhile with Tails and the others, he was doing the same thing with his tech

"So, as you can see..." He played a recording of the recent phenomenon.

"...By looking at the exact projectory and everything, I can conclude that light was an explosion from a great power from another world, which the Chaos Emeralds have reacted to and both came into contact, and that light was brought here."

"So lettme get this right, The Emeralds were used for a great power recently, and that light was also another great power, and both reactions happened at the same time and some how connected, explaining how that light came here? Amy guessed.

"Exactly, by scanning these particles, I can theorize that this is what the weapon looked like before." Tails said showing a screen of what the light came from.

"Great, It's a Fork." Knuckles guessed.

"No silly, it's a trident." Cream answered.

"In history class, I learned in ancient times, underwater creatures used long forks called Tridents to defend themselves." She said being cutely clever.

"I see, well due to the amounts of that light, that Trident must have been very powerful, probably as powerful as the Chaos Emeralds." Tails continued, back with Eggman who was still watching them.

"Ah, so we were on the same page then." Eggman grinned.

"I still think Eggman behind this!" Amy said still believing it.

"Yeesh, for a pure hearted Girl, she always jumps to conclusions without a thought." Eggman said being annoyed.

"Hmm..." Tails was deep into thought about the energy from this trident and then it hit him

"That's it!"

"Wait, it is Eggman? I Knew It!" Amy asked.

"No no no, I mean this, if this came from an explosion that turned out to be a portal, what if we use this to make our own portal using this vile of energy, and go wherever Sonic is." He said as everyone looked up.

"However, there is bit of a downside, when that blast came into contact with one of the Chaos Emeralds, it needed all seven explaining how they came together, and then caused Chaos Control, which resulted into creation of the portal, and since the Emeralds are with Sonic, we can't track them, so who knows where we'll end up without the power of the emeralds." He said as everyone then looked down, while Knuckles on the other hand.

"Unless we use something that's just as or more powerful than the Chaos Emeralds, like one that can even control them." He said as everyone then looked up again at him.

"You mean... ?" Amy asked.

"The Master Emerald." Knuckles said.

"I almost forgot, The Master Emerald is connected with the Chaos Emeralds, no matter how far apart they are, Now we can track the Emeralds, and as we find them, we find Sonic, Knuckles you're a genius!" Tails said praising his friend.

"Still, are you sure about this Knuckles? you take your job very serious." Amy asked.

"Normally, I wouldn't be, but because it's for Sonic, I'll make an acception." Knuckles approved the permission.

"Alright then, time to get to work, we'll meet at Angel Island, tomorrow." Tails said as they all nodded and left, as for Tails, he went inside lab and started working, with Eggman, he chuckled about this

"Well, well, perhaps I should do something about this as well." Eggman said as he got to work on a little plan of his own, then camera zooms in on the monitor, which was looking at the vile of the dust and it starts to slowly glow rapidly.
