Chapter 3: Havan Days
Mistral home to many good places and some not so good places if you count yourself lucky enough to not be any of them. However it is also home to haven academy, one of the primary combat schools aside from sanctum. Havan academy itself is a large spacious place with many towering buildings with very itnriguate yet styrlish rooftops. Though despite it being a specious academy the palace is currently empty due to orders from the headmaster to head home until said otherwise.
Though despite of that warning some student still remained on the academy grounds. The first student is bombay sage who is currently wearing a different outfit than normal. That being she trade her crop top long sleeve for a silver colored long sleeve aheltic shirt. But she still wears a vest but traded her puffy one for a leather one with white fur on top of it still. It was still unbutton as she also wore a pair of dark blue jean shorts down halfway on her thigh. But she remains decent still wearing long legging shocks that that are light black. She wears a pair of gray combat boots with cyan laces. On her hips were two swords in their sheathes that are schimitar swords while on her hips are pouches with a light brown belt wrapped around them.
The second was a girl next to her is thisite yoder who just returned from the schnee gala event with a worried look on her face it seems. Her weapon is strapped to her back by a magentic clip.
While also with her was ame rhodes as she wore her usual attire she has on as she stayed at the academy. She stil has her prosthetic arm that she managed to fix after the fall. While carrying her weapon on her back.
And finally a founding member of the popular band days of manie perun crosby but he also changed up his outfit it seems. He traded his blue jeans for a pair of black jeans that have a chain in the pocket. Along with that he has a black t-shirt now with his band logo on it but with words saying"in honor of tanner mckay, best guys in all of remnant"it read. But he wore a yellow leather jacket with a lighting bolt on the back embedded and colored black with blue running shoes. He still wears his lighting bolt earring with his guitar strapped to his back. But right now all of them were trying to find something to do.
"Man this is kinda of sucks that the academy is closed until the headmaster says so. "Perun said annoyed
"I know what you mean i wonder how long we will be out of session right now"ame added
Bombay groaned slightly"well at least you guys got here normally i busted my arm then had to wait three weeks to get here. "Bombay said as thisite simply chuckled at that.
"Didn't you also see a baby be delivered on a grimm infest ship. Along with running into blake, onxyia and that neo girl"thsiite asked
"Yep last i saw them they were on their way to deliver the news to that wolf girls leader mom. Apparently women lost him eight years ago or something"bombay replied as a thoughtful look came over ame.
"Hold on eight years ago thats a little strange actually"ame replied
"Really? Why because a dead guy come back from the grave"bombay joked but she narrowed her gaze.
"No for some reason from recent report about that nevermore knight that was killed. When we thought her she looked familiar when her mask came off"ame said as perun cupped his chin nodding at that. He felt like when he saw her face he seen her somewhere before.
"You know your right i kinda do feel like ive seen her somewhere before but where"perun aded as they turned a corner bombay bumped into someone making her fall flat onto her butt. This was another time she bumped into someone random.
"Ow! What is it with people bumping into me?"bombay questioned.
"Hmph maybe you should watch where you walking miss sage"a female voice said as she looked at the source of the voice.
Their stood a rather tall women that is about in her late thirties as she had plum colored hair that was long and curly at the ends and her eyes where light blue in color. Along with that she wears a black skirt that is pleated that reaches her knees along with that she wears short red heels. For a shirt she wears a light orange dress shirt under a green dress jacket with a plum embedded on the right breast pocket. Along with that strapped to her hip was a latin machete that seems to transform into a high power pistol. She had pouches strapped to her right thigh along with some on her hips as she held a book in hand. Their was fauld armor over her skirt and some gaunlents on her wrist.
The women looked at the cat faunus who zipped up waving to her.
"Oh uh mrs. shen mei i'm sorry i ran into you i didn't see you their"bombay greeted nerovusly as her tail drooped.
The women known as shen mei havan academy current combat instructor.
Mei sighed"you can call me mei dear, but i'm still supsired to see you all on school ground right now. I thought you all be home"mei asked
"Oh well uh we kinda wanted to stay also some of us live in the capital"thisite replied
"Yep though uh what are you up to right now?"ame asked making some casually conversation.
Mei sighed caressing the book"oh just thinking about what today would mark"she sadly said peeking the students interest.
"What day would that be if you don't mind us asking?"perun softly asked
Mei just pulled a locket from her necklace as she opened it to reveal a picture of her with another women. Both were in wedding attire as she was kissing a women she flipped it showing them it. The four looked to see a women with tan skin with dark purple eyes and long black lucious hair. But a noitcble feature was the crow wings telling them she was a faunus.
"Just the anniversary of when me and my wife married is all. My partner on my team and partner in you kid don't wanna hear about that"mei replied pocketing her locket beginning to walk away from them as she turned to them.
"I suggest you find something to do while you wait for school to be back in session"mei added as she walked away disappearing round the corner.
"Huh kinda weird how shes still here oh well. Kinda said that happened to her wife"bombay replied as they continued to walk for a bit until it hit ame as she recalled where shes seen her.
"Wait a minute that women in the picture she looked exactly like that nevermore knight. "Ame said getting their interest immediately
"Hold on are you suggesting that women that was her wife was a grimm knight?"thisite asked as she nodded.
"It might be a possibilite but only one way to find out come on"ame said as they began to follow her through the long corddiors of the large academy. Until after ten minutes they reached their destination the library and records room which had holo computer for students to do their research on any topic. Along with studying for any upcoming test.
But in their case doing some digging as they stood in the middle of the library for a bit.
"Alright so what are we doing here ame? You wanna do an extra book report or something"perun jokingly asked
Ame rolled her eyes crossing her arms under her bust"no for starters the library has records on mainly anything related to the combat instructor team."she advised as they got what she was implying.
"So i'm guessing you want us to split up and look for anything that related to her."bombay questioned with a hand on her hip as she nodded. They all agreed to do just that as they began to search top to bottom through the library. After about maybe an hour into their search ame dug through the computer.
Soon enough they all regroup in the where she was as they brought some news articles, an old year book and missing person reports in the last eight years. They all placed their stuff on the table as ame plug her arm in as the screen kept opening and closing tabs. Because she had a software installed in her prohtsetic that allows her to connect it to a small data drive she installed in her arm.
Thsiite netly placed the newspaper making them even"So for starters what do you want us to exactly look for?"she asked
Ame eyed the yearbook that was maybe dated twenty years back as she grabbed it flipping it open. It showed the many huntsman and huntresses that have attended the academy over the years but she looked for the first name of what she recalled the nevermore knight name was.
As she dragged her finger across the names one stuck out to her that being"Aarne crowley"
"Ah ha, here we go lets see if your a match"ame said flipping to the page the women was on. The other three looked over her shoulder as it showed a picture of team MAYO. but listed at the team leader was their combat inscturctor along with the same women as perun went wide eyed.
"Whoa she does look like the spitting image of her you think she used to be a huntress maybe?"perun questioned
"Percisly now that newspaper over their hand me it"ame requested
Thistie was close as she handed the newspaper over as ame read it quickly before nodding then showing them it. The newspaper showed an article from eight years ago about aarne crowley dying on a mission that was in vacou. But all that remaidned where some of her feathers and legs. Declared dead in line of duty.
Bombay cupped her chin"So your thinking that all these grimm knights might be people who went missing or died eight years ago"she asked shivierng slightly.
Ame nodded"yes because the next one is quite surprising because it reminds me of what you told us. That beowulf knight that was spotted in the city during the attack"she said presenting another news article.
It talked about a well known serial killer known as the kewok who was infamous all around remnant eight years ago. He had killed several people and his victims where all left with piece missing from them presumably being eaten. But the article talked how he was found dead in an airship crash with his bodie burnt beyond recognition.
Bombay shived slightly looking at the black and gray picture but it reminded her of someone.
"Hmm yeah he kinda looks like him with that creepy beowulf skull mask hes wearing. Same one that mutt wore"bombay said slightly freaking out taking small rapid breath as thsiite took action rubbing her back in a circular motion.
"Calm down hes not here the news said hes still in vale."she reassured as the girl slowed her pulse nodding.
"This is at least a pretty good that we have a good idea on what were dealing with. All these grimm knights are missing people that were last seen eight years ago"ame said
"True but more importantly is it me or is headmaster lionheart acting weird. Because lately after the attack on becon hes been rather closed off"perun stated
"You know now that you menion it he has been rather odd"thsiite replied
"How he keeps going back and forth between the academy and mistral. I think hes up to something"bombay added
"This we should keep an eye on him just incase?"perun suggested
Ame debated it in her ehad she may not be the leader but when it comes to brains she got it but they should leave him be.
"Lets just leave him be for now. If he does do anything out of the ordinary then we follow him and see whats hes up to"ame replied
"Sounds good to me"perun said as they nodded in agreement walking off but as they did bombay glanced at the two members of team TPAZ.
"So uh how has zephyra been doing heard she taking therapy session now"bombay asked
Ame looked down rubbing her arm"She…still hasn;t gotten over tanner death really. Though still can't believe you knew she had a crush on him"she said looking at perun who chuckled.
"You two were kinda loud in the library that day but…i'm worried about my girl. Her and weiss were kidnapped by someone. "Perun said
Thisite huffed slightly"i feel like that a lie because before i left mrs,hayley mentioned something strange"she replied
"How strong are we talking?"ame questioned.
"Well for starters she mentioned something about a divorce and child abuse."thsiite replied which surprised them slightly but perun thought about how weiss acted while she stayed in argus. She seemed rather tense when talking about her father at times.
Perun hummed for a moment"you think that their kidnapping might have been faked?"perun sugggested
"Maybe but we should call it a day. "Ame said as they nodded in agreement continuing with their day.
Meanwhile off the east coast of mitrsal the force of the white fang had gathered and already set up base their as they;ve begun training for their potential attack on havan academy. Ollie was going ove rhis plans and making adjustments if need making sure that nothing was out of place. Even with blake stopping their bomb suppiler they still had plenty of amterial to make the bombs that they need to destory the CCT tower that were on the grounds of the academy. But with help they have more than enough bombs.
He would make humanity fear the faunus and demand to be made equal to the humans or they would suffer only more bloodhsed. Plus with how things went on menagerie he believes that fennac, corac and yenna had deposes of blake, her family, sienna khan,the khan family,and that wolf who stabbed him in the leg and the rest that followed.
Plus that not all, salem promised him forces to air him in this invsion and like her word his new queen provided to him that. He had several armed soldiers in miltary gear along with thugs that are locals of the area. Along with some psycho from a local cult in vacou. But along with them was hazel and that human who had a faunus lover it seems.
Their also his old friend adder who is nothing but a professionally when it comes to getting things done. And he didn't really care for him at all about his plan except for what their queen wants. That also applies to this this kiyo women who by far is his best weapon. An underkillable warrior who can control some grimm and she seems very attached to that king tajtu she owns. A few of those cultist even volunteered to feed it which creeped him out.
Soon he heard the ten flap over as it revealed adder and kiyo as they joined his side.
"Ah hard at work i sssee asss always aren;t you weaver"Adder tail taking a seat as ollie smiled at him.
"Oh you know just trying to plan a route toward havan which is taking alot of work right now."ollie said before looking at the two.
"Now leave me and attend to others things"he added
Kiyo hissed laughing"i've starting to get bored here even my little pet is also getting very hunger. She'll need to maybe start feasting soon"kiyo said out of boredom and some worrie.
"Find your pet some livestock from the mountains or keep feeding those stupid cultist to it. I'm busy"ollie added
"I though you wanted to get their quicker and not play it safe"kiyo teased
"She right aren't you being to skepetical right now"Adder added
"The safer my troops the better for when we attack havan academy. Do you not know a thing about strategy. Be like that sangie women"ollie replied as if on cue that women walked through the doors.
In stepped a women who seems in her mid thirties with dark slightly purplish red hair with light yellow eyes. Her skin was light tan but she had three claw marked on her right cheek. Along with that she wore a standard black combat vest along with a black longsleve shirt. She wore combat pants colored black with black combat boots. A knife was strapped to her thigh along with with a few pouches on her hip.
Strapped to her back was a large dane axe that seemed to be on standby mode.
"I heard my name called, let me guess you want some help strategizing?"sangie asked walking over.
Ollie chuckled"not exactly you already sent word to your leader to send conri to menagerie not that long ago"he replied
Sangie chuckled messing with her combat knife twirling it a little in glee it seems.
"Excellent i've handle that mutt for years now hes got a personal grudge against omega. Word is hes still alive can't wait to see that kid after so long"sangie said eagerly
"Let me guess you were his little jail hand?"ollie asked evily as she nodded.
"Along with that uras brat on the island as well he should arrive to meet your forces just incase your men failed"sangie said
As she said this one of the guards came in.
"Brother ollie come quickly! Corsac and yenna has returned to us!"the guard called out. Immediately he stopped what he was doing and followed the guard. Their was a boat where other members had gathered as corsac and yenna gotten off the boat.
"Brother corsac. Sister yenna good to see you are alive"ollie said but noticed something was wrong as two people were missing.
"Where your brother fennac? Along with that brat ilia? They should be with you?"he asked but he looked away from his gaze before answering as yenna did the same.
"Brother fennac i'm afraid…has been salin"corsac regrettably.
"Along with sister ilia defecting and joining the traditor. I left duke on the island just incase"yenna added regrettably asll.
"By who? Who has slain your brother corsac?"ollie asked again
This time he stared back into his eyes and spoke"that human that lives with the faunus along with that dam wolf"he said as ollie knew who exactly he was talking about.
"So torchwich daughter. A girl who was a criminal slained your brother along with that wolf helping her"he said before turning back to his soldier.
"Do you see now! The human race doesn't care for us faunus even when one of them is a crimimal and daughter of the infamous roman torchwich!Along with a girl with a unique gift a tail and ears! When one of you fall three more will take your place and carry on where you left off! Show no mercy to the humans and kill every single one of them until those above decide to make us equal! Not out of diplomacy but out of fear of what we can do! Make them fear you and use that very same fear to crush, rip, tear, and kill your enmies! Hit them where it hruts the worse and never relent! You all will get what you wnat even if we have to force them to give it to us! Let those who decided to betray us perish for they are weak! Our rise begins!"ollie spoke proudly as the soldier cheer for him which he releived in.
"Forgot the two month period. Next month…we march on havan"ollie declared before turing to sangie.
"You are going to manegeire to assist conri in killing that resistance. But capture that wolf alive"ollie ordered
"Any reason why you want her?"sangie asked eagerly.
Ollie grinned"i want pay back for her stabbing me and if that lover of her shows up. Grab him too you don't mind if i kill him right?"he asked looking at kiyo who grinned under her mask.
"No my queen can simple bring him back from the dead to serve us if his corpse is fresh"kiyo allowed then he turned toward adder.
"You. my old friend i have a job for you. Head to argus to dismantle that hayley weapon manufacturs. My guess is that they'll ask them to assist them by providing ships and weapons"ollie ordered
Adder bowed at this finally having a chance to get his hands dirt and he wanted to visit someone in argus actually. "As you command"he said before taking his leave from the camp. But secretly a female gecko faunus within the group was still loyal to the certain bengel faunus as she quietly stepped out of the camp and into a small cove she made for herself with her pet owl their hidden that carried hidden messages.
She quickly wrote on a small piece of paper before stuffing it into a small carrying piece on its leg.
"Find jaki hayley."was what she said as the owl listened to her and flew off into the night heading toward the direction of argus as she prayed her message would get to him on time. But she also hoped to avenge her little sister jae that man took away.
Although across town right now in an upper part of mistral sat a quaint little therapist office. The office was small as it was only one story as it was situated near the huntsman academy. Though right now in the waiting romm right was a certain heirness that being zephyra who was very nervous right now.
The waiting romm was like any waiting was very simply as behind the desk was the recptionist. As the heiress sat their she kept thinking to herself what even brought her here in the first place. It might be mainly to deal with tanner death but also a bit of guilt for not being able to save him.
The atmosphere rigth now was very quiet as she just sat their in her own world until someone called out to her.
" my wife will see you now"a male voice said
The girl looked over at a man seemed to be in his late thiriies as he had an ahtletic build to him. But he had fair skin along with a set of dark orange eyes with light brown hair that was medium in length. He was wearing a wool sweater that was colored grey along with a pen in his breast pocket. Along with that he wore a pair of brown pants with some black dress shoes.
Zephyra stood up bowing"thank you uh…lennie"she thanked
"No problem kiddio also don't be intimidated by my wife despite her appearances she a very gentle soul. Shes the best therapist in all of mistral"lennie reasusred as the girl nodded as she walked through the door. She walked through the hallway that was decorated with pictures of small baby animals and some flowers which made a relaxing environment.
"Alright you can do this zephyra, its just a simply therapy session. "She said as she opened the door to her therapist office.
The office in question was a decent size in length as it had a large cabinet on one side. It had several framed pictures weather that be just random photo of vale or pictures of her so called therapist. On one wall their was a portrait of the mistral empresses who ruled the continent all those years ago during the great war.
Their was also a chaise longue in the room for where patient lay to dicuss their many troubles and worries with their therapist. Along with a small desk that suggest the tabletop could be moved. Their was also another chair in the room as a window beamed the moonlight into the room. But on one wall a sword wall on display and it was a dadao sword in its sheathe.
But right now sitting on a chair writing some thing down was said therapist and surprisingly she towered over the girl at a whooping seven feet fall. Though she had very pale skin like she been in the cold along with icy blue eyes. A very noticeable trait was her polar bear ears atop her head. She had white hair that was medium in length as it curled over her shoulder slightly.
Though a typically therapist just wears a sweater in her case she wore an icy blue long sleeve athletic shirt underneath a jacket. The jacket in question was an asymmetrical zip up leather motorcycle jacket that was colored maroon. But on the back of the jacket was a diamond emrboadded into the leather of the jacket with her initials being DG. along with that she wore some simple brown pants with a pair of Women motorcycle boots that were marron in colored with icy blue laces.
This made the girl wondered what type of the therapist office she walked into now. Because she never expected her to be dress like this.
The women looked up with a gentle smile"ah miss hine a pleasure to see you finally. Terrible sorrys you had to come at this time of night"she apolgized.
"No its fine ma'am its not that long of a walk anyway"zephyra replied as she looked at her for a moment before the women sighed.
"You don't need to ask me to sit dear, just take a seat and relax"the women reassured patting to the lounge chair. The girl hesitated but took a seat as she layed down on the chair looking up at the ceiling as they sat in silence for a bit.
While they did the women decided to itnroduced herself"for starters since i know who you are might as well introduce myself. I'm diamona ghastly."the women introduced herself as diamona
"Uh pleasure to meet you ma'am"zephyra replied as the women eyes soon shifted to grey telling her soemthing.
"Dear you have nothing to be nervous about, its normal for someone to seek therapy. "Diamona begun as she was susprised she was nervous but she probably made it obvious.
"I've treated several students from the fall of vale and beacon. Alot of them mainly calming because they experience a traumatic event, saw something terrible or lost someone close"diamona said as the heiress flinched hearing that which made the women write something down.
The girl just didn't really respond as she wanted to try and say something but didn't know how to probably respond in this type of situation. Shes very new to this type of thing.
"So uh what do i do exactly?"zephyra questioned
Diamona had some glasses on as she adjusted them"for starters this place is a safe environment where you can let your thoughts roam free. Along with your feelings and your current behavior. Have you been sleeping alright dear?"she asked as she noticed the girl had a set of slightly dark bags.
Zephyra looked down slightly"i..i've had some trouble sleeping latly its just…when the fall happened. It was so horrible…so many people gone like that"she begun deicidng to confined in the women as the polar bear faunus listened as she continued.
"My team…we…we lost our l-leader..my…my partner. Some stupid loud mouth who was apart of some dumb band from argus"she continued as the women chcukled slightly.
"I know who your talking about that group know as days of mania. Terrible shame still what happened to that boy. He seemed like a kindred soul"daimona replied softly as her eyes change to light blue now
Because mainly zephyra had beginning to well up because she was right the guy did cause trouble at havan sometimes. But he would always be kind to others trying to do the right thing no matter what. Granted he also did get their team in a heap of trouble at the academy sometimes but it was funny.
"Your not wrong…its…its been tough dealing with his death latly. His best friend was made our team leader….he…he offered it too me when he got it. Told me i was the better fit for it….he was wrong"zephyra continuing choking on a word as she swallowed slowly composing herself as she felt relaxed for some reason but felt upset still. Daimona just listened as she wrote things in her notepad.
Zehyra gripped the lounge chair tight on the sides"i..i'm not a perfect fit as team leader…i thought i was at first. But…but tanner was so much better…always putting our safety first no matter what. It..it hurt p-perun the most when he died, those two were close"zephyra contined as some tears slowly slipped away from her eyes.
"But…but back at beacon he scarified himself to give us time to escape. Some…psycho with a scorpian tail killed him like it was nothing. H–he saved one of the hayley heiress since they've known each. At time…i…i sometimes wish she died"she added as diamond soften her gaze crossing her legs.
"Wishing for others death isn't the right thing to do when dealing with the death of someone. You know that right?"diamona questioned as the girl nodded rubbing her eyes.
"I know it isn't right…with her missing and junk. B-but i just wanna see him again…i..i..i never got to tell him how i felt."zephyra continued as she sat up hugging herself as tears began to break through her eyes as they slide down her cheeks. The women took action as she stood up gently sitting down placing a hand on the girl.
Then diamona relaxed her breathing then exhaled as the atmosphere around the girl suddenly felt colder. But she didn't feel cold for some reason it felt relaxing as she exhaled as her shoulder untense slightly. Then she looked at diamona who offered a hug as the girl cracked taking it as she decided to continue.
"That dumb idiot…i..i actually loved him all those dumb fight we got in"zephyr continued as the tears were still present but the women gently rocked back and forth with her slowly.
"I wish he was still here…and i wish my mother wouldn't bad mouth my teammates. She wasn't their…no one in atlas was…it was horrible"zephyra fishined as she was crying now into the women who she just met today for this therapy session. But the polarbear faunus just gently rubbed her back sotthing her a bit.
"Shh its okay dear just get it all out, you'll feel better"diamona shushed as this went on for about five minutes. Until eventually a small buzzer went off but just in time as the girl clamed down rubbing the tears away from her eyes.
"You feeling any better kid?"diamona asked
Zephyra sniffed rubbing her eyes"i..i..i actually do…it felt nice to finally get that type of thing off my chest. I know its not right to bottle this up…but maybe this was a good idea"zephyra said as diamona smiled as she opened the door for her to leave.
"Thats just the first of many steps on recoveirng from your grief and guilt. Same time next week?"diamona asked as the girl stood up nodding.
"Yes that sound excellent thank you miss ghastly"zephyra thanked with a bow as she chuckled at her doing that.
"Call me diamona kid or what my friend and team back beacon did. Diam"diamona replied which caught her interest slightly.
"You were a huntresses?"zephyra asked because she sure didn't seem like one in a way maybe if you count that sword.
The tall women chuckled walking over to one of her pictures picking it up as she walked over showing it. It revealed some very familiar faces to some but not to her that being team SAND. with the former white fang leader sienna khan standing next to her partner nadia walker. Along with the polar bear faunus standing next to her partner amber.
"Yep though i kinda retired from the huntress gig to start myself a family. And my semblance is alot more useful for therapy actually"She said as she geusted to her eyes as zephyra watched them change color to yellow.
"How did your eyes change color?"she asked
"Simply i can track someone emotions by the color of my eyes but i can never shut it off which is a annoying. But i also can help relax people perfect for when grimm attack or someone having a panic attack. But this concludes today session."diamona said as the girl nodded taking her leave.
The heriness bidded lennie goodbye as she left the therapist office with a smile on her face. She wondered what perun and ame were up to at the academy right now. Though unknown to her some thugs watched her leave nodding to each other at what might be their next target soon.
This closes another chapter in the volume! Seems perun and company are doing their own investgations on the grimm knights and figuring out their next attack. While we got to meet diamona and her husband lennie who runs a therapist office. Ollie though sent adder and this sangie to complete certain objectives. OC's are shen mei, diamona, sangie, lennie.
