Chapter 7:The Great Outdoors
Its been almost an entire week since eria and company had arrive or crashed into the anima as the camp right now was busy right now. Mainly being the increase in tribemembers that bsutled throughout the entire camp right now. That mainly being raven keeping charge of her forces over the camp along with gathering her warriors for whats to come the attack on havan academy.
Along with that weiss and falk seemed to have gotten closer over the last week since they both declared they were dating which some found amusing. While for adam the former leader of the white fang was given some freedom for the deed he performed for their tribe putting an old friend out of her misery. But he was assigned a bodyguard mainly lazuli who kept watch over him twenty four seven. Though she also was helping mai through her grief as the same applied to her.
But right now for eria it was different as she was spending alot of time with her now alive uncle with his family alot. As she spent most days in the camp either helping where she could but mainly getting to know her uncles wife and her new baby cousin which she enjoyed several.
Though right now in a specific tent right now in a bed right now was eria who was sound asleep right now with her eye mask on her face. As she layed their in bed sleeping for a bit until someone nudged her awake at that moment.
Eria groaned slightly"five more minutes please…i need my beauty rest"she said lazily
But then she was pulled out her bed making her awake as her mask slid off slightly to reveal the culprit being her uncle dravan with a cheeky look across his face.
"Come on my snowy niece you can't be sleeping all day right now we got alot to do today"Dravan stated letting her go as she flopped onto her bed.
She decided to stay with her uncle family since they had some space in their very spacious tent since both of them are the second of commands of the whole operation here it seems.
"Drav is right seriously because right now i need your help with something very important right now"Verona said as she was in her usual attire. As close by was her cousin luna who held a handmade doll that resemble a uras that looked expertly stitched together.
Eria got up cracking her back with a loud crack being heard"what would that be auntie?"she codly asked
"I'm still not used to your cold demon yet. Seriously i'm just saying you should smile more you always look so grumpy"verona said placing her fingers on her lips making her smile.
She smacked her hands away gently"its apart of my perosanlity along with my unique trait i inherited from my father. I'm sure uncle could agree"eria coldy replied as he chuckled at that.
"Just like your dear old dad when we were kids though hurry up and get dressed i got the today breakfast ready this morning"dravan said as the two left her as verona picked up luna holding her close
The cold girl agreed she should get dressed as she decided to spend some time getting ready for today. As she walked over to a nearby wooden trunk opening it revealing her clothes their lucky they salvage what they could from the cackling gull. After maybe twenty minutes she got ready for the day as she felt relived.
Then close by she eyed tundra as she picked her bat up twirling it before clipping it onto her waist to start her day.
Once outside the tent she was met by the bright sun as her vision adjusted for a moment. As she saw several more people in the camp right now all busy preparing for whats to come as several people where still fixing the damages to the large gate to the camp. It seemed close to being finish at that moment.
But once outside she was met by the sweet scent of something good as she stared at a nearby pot. It had some vetabgles in the mix along with some wild game which she grown accustomed to in the last week.
"Their you are thought you'd miss out on the stew i prepared this morning"dravan said placing a bowl of stew infront of her as she sat on a tree log for a chair
"Well i wouldn't miss this today because most would agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day"eria simply replied
"Your not wrong dear though try feeding a baby out in the woods. Seriously your very picky"verona said to her daughter
Luna had a few blueberries in her hand eating them as she was enjoying them. But not the small sliced carrots neatly prepared for her. Verona tried to feed her one but she tried to bite her.
"Hey what did i say about biting someone missy?"verona warned
"I would get in trouble"luna cutely said sticking her tongue out.
Dravan chuckled gently patting his daughter on the head"that right my little bat. Now whos the cutest little faunus in remnant. Who is it?"he asked lifting her in the air as she giggled.
"Me"luna cutely replied making eria heart melt seeing this.
Dravan nuzzled her against his cheek"that right sweetie now why don't you eat some veggies. If you do you can become strong like your dad"he said flexing his one arm as the tot began to eat the sliced carrots to verona annoyance.
"I love how she listen to you but not her own mother. Seriously i did all the hard work the least she could do is show some gratitude"verona codly said herself.
"Sometimes certain people respond well to children in a way. It seems she likes uncle alot more"eria coldy said taking a bite of her stew in delight since it was at least edible.
"That may be true though it seems you and your friends are adjusting to the tribal life well"dravan replied eating his stew as his tail swayed.
"So wait your counting that uh you know who her friend? Because for starters i'm still surprised he would do that for me and rae."verona sadly replied as they knew what she meant. Eria seen how hurt this new aunt of her was after melissa was killed they must have been good friends.
Without a word eria got up hugging verona tight as the bat leaned into it.
"It'll be fine at least your friend is home now, and she got to say goodbye to her family"Eria reassured
"I know kiddio though i just miss her. I still cna't believe that she was turned into some monster along with so many others. At this point i feel like any missing person in the last decade might have been kidnapped by those guys"She suggested as they nodded in agreement.
"You may be right my dear but still surprised that qrow and the others haven't arrived here yet."dravan pointed out
"Or that rae has used her semblance to portal to them seriously she been very strange about that lately. Which is weird"Verona mentioned
Eria recalled that because raven described her semblance giving her the ability to be able to transport anyone she has formed very close bonds with to her in an instant with the use of her sword which makes it easier.
"She might be waiting for them to save time. Along with wanting to keep me and weiss a surprise for our friends. "Eria said
"Along with my sister because when i get my hands on her i'm freezing her to that mountain over their"She added pointing at a mountain in the distance because she'll do it. Dravan laughed before getting up whipping luna face off with a rag to make her clean.
"Oh let just pray she doesn't cry her eyes out when she see me dear. Or…hate me for the rest of her life"dravan saldy said as his tail drooped. Verona walked over holding him close for a moment.
"Drav i'm sure that won't happen if we explain to her why that happened. I'm sure she'll accept you open arms."verona reassured kissing him on the cheek.
Eria nodded"yes i was mad as well. But when you told me what happened i understand compelty. I'm sure father will be happy to see you as well if we head to argus"she commented making the man seem to dread meeting his brother again.
"Anyway right now heres my little request for you today becuases its something important. I gotta go help that pilot with rebuilding his ship"verona said
"Oh what would that be?"eria asked
Verona picked luna up as she flapped her little wings to get free but then she was placed right next to eria. As the little tot grabbed her hand instantly as she understood.
"I need you to drop her off at the daycare we got here. With your friend wiess helping their alot along with the influx of kiddios. I'm quite busy today"verona replied
Dravan nodded rolling his shoulder"i'll probably be on my way to check up on raven and see how shes doing."he replied walking off somewhere else into the camp to do that.
"Well i'll take her to the daycare. It'll be no problem auntie"eria said as verona nodded
"Bye bye sweetie i'll come by later and we can have a little bonfire later with everyone"She sweetly said waving her to her.
"Bye bye momma"luna cutely said waving to her bleeping slightly.
That was when eria decided to take her cousin toward the daycare as she walked through the main camp taking in the fresh air. She not used to the outdoors but the last week has made her appreciate the place alot more lately.
As she walked through the camp the tribememebrs were busy skinning some game that they caught in the nearby woods. While some where preparing their weapons since they still carried some modern weapons as they were chekcing their ammo and dust suppiles.
While she passed by a pair of hunter one of them waved her down.
"Hey kid your drav niece right thanks for helping us out a few days ago"the hunter thanked
"Yeah seriously vern and her bandits are getting pretty risky now attacking us during our hunts. Nice job saving our butts"a female hunter thanked
"It was no problem i was just doing what a huntresses would do in that situation."eria bowed as the two chuckled at that.
"Keep telling yourself that though if you see your uncle. Have him make some of his famous rabbit stew for everyone tonight. Its to die for"a hunter begged
Eria hummed slightly"i'll try to do that unless you let me know if you see any sigh of your other leader as soon as possible"she replied with her deal as the two thought about it nodding.
"Sure thing kid that what we've been doing for the last week anyway. Catch you later"the female hunter replied making her smile slightly.
As she kept walking through the campsite taking in the sights right now as she kept taking in the sights for a good while. It was nice having this because it made her feel relaxed after the events in the last month until someone decided to call out to her.
"Hey princess where you heading off to?"a female voice said as she turned to the source.
That being a girl close to her age seeming about eighteen as she had fair skin with a brown hair with a purple stripe going down the right side or her hair as she had yellow colored eyes. While she had a small scar on her lip.
But her attire was similar to everyone else in the camp as she wore a pair of brown booty shorts with black legging with a pair of very worn hiking boots. Along with that she sported a black sleevless shirt showing her toned arms and had a midriff showing her abes. Though on her back was a compound bow with a quiver.
"Oh hello mindy i'm just off to the daycare to drop my cousin off"eria said as luna waddled over hugging her legs.
"Cousin"she cutely said making the girl known as mindy gush over her picking her up nuzzling her nose against her.
"Heyya sweetie i'm not your cousin by blood but its nice to see you again"mindy replied carrying her as she joined eria on her walk to the daycare. As they walked for a bit they struck some causal conversation up.
"So you got any more juicy stories on my old gal pal xialong?"midny asked because this girl was actually friends with yang it seems. When they got here the girl approached them a couple days after the lancer knight attack she asked if they knew her and they did. She was apparently childhood friends with her.
Eria chuckled"i've already told you about what happened that day in the lunch room didn't i?"she replied as she laughed
"Yeah seriously you don't mess with that chick hair. I can tell from expeirnce as kids i clipped it off slightly. Then she punched me"midny said recalling that.
"But come on you have to have something interesting to spill"mindy begged it seems though as they kept walking for a bit soon someone spoke up to the two.
"I think i might have something interesting to tell you"weiss chimed in as the two stared ahead toward the schnee heiress sporting her saul attire but had black long sleeves back open overcoat with white outline and a blue interior. Around the overcoat was a medium size belt that can be strapped as well with a hoodie to cover her white hair.
Although she seemed rather agitated from something coming from her tailtone because something happened during the last week.
"Ohhhh please tell me because when blondie gets here i'm going to have so much fun teasing her"mindy said like she was enjoying herself to the two ice queen amusement.
"God you remind me a certain person i used to know that being my mother"weiss codly replied as midny set luna down as she waddled over cutely but tripped falling onto her face. The tot began to make a fussy face as weiss took action.
"Hey its okay it was just a little scrap everything will be alright"weiss said picking her up bouncing her up and down in her arms at that moment.
Luna was about to cry at that moment as the three were trying to figure out what to do.
"Ummm what do we do because i don't wanna hear her cry right now"midny said pnaicking.
Eria groaned"its quite simple i don't know how about tell her everything will be alright"she said as they walked inside to the makeshift daycare in the camp.
As all the kids of the tribememebrs where running around as the tribemember assigned to them were doing their best to keep them from getting too out of control. Though working very hard right now and the head of this daycare was haru. The current spring maiden.
"Settle down you two and lucy you and alysha quit fighting with each other now"haru said separating two kids who stared at her with innocent face.
The first had a yellow shirt with black shorts as she sported a pair of cat ears on her head colored tan with tannish color hair.
While the second had faunus traits as well like the other girl with a tan cail tail and even a pair of ears to match as well. She wore a beige colored shirt with blue pants with sandals.
"But where just playing"a faunus girl said as the other nodded.
"Yeah where just doing what our brother showed us back home"the second faunus girl innocently added
Haru sighed kneeling down"alright but i don't care because you two should get along. Jay is a bad influence on you two sometimes seriously hes such a trouble maker. But you two are just angels"She said pinching both their cheeks in unison.
The two little girl looked at her nodding in unison.
"Okay sorry teacher"lucy said sweetly.
"Yeah can we still go play with dan and iris for recess?"alsyha asked as haru tapped her chin for a moment.
"Sure thing you do but remember keep your hands to yourself alright."haru insutrcted as the two nodded as the two girl ran off somewhere. Then haru noticed them as weiss was still holding luna who had a small scrap on her face.
"Oh what happened to her don't tell me dan decided to get into another scrap with her"haru said annoyed
"No she just fell down as she was trying to hug the heiress here"mindy replied
Weiss blushed slightly"i'm sorry that she wanted to say hi though we should get this clean up to prevent an infection" she said with worrie.
"Hmm your right about that i can help treat it with you but…someone needs to watch the kids."haru said trying to come up with a solution as eria thought of one.
"How about me and mindy here help keep watch while you two treat my cousin?"eria offered to midny annoyance slightly since she didn't really want to volunteer but sighed heavily placing her hands behind her head.
"Might as well help you out because i don't got anything else to do. You two go treat aunties kid while we keep an eye on these squirts"midny said as the two nodded walking off to another part of the daycare. It wasn;t long until they got to somewhere close by.
That being a small changing table right now along with a nearby bin from the looks of it that seemed to be filled with soiled diapers. Along with that their was a small medial station on a table as haru set luna down on it. But once weiss got near the bin she gagged heavily plugging her nose.
"I'm never going to get used to smelling this am i? Because it smells like a garbage dump is over here"Weiss said gagging slightly as haru gigglged.
"You won't but don't worry everyone been helping you get used to your new sense of smell"haru replied
"I guess your right though we should get her cleaned up"weiss said pointing out the dirt on luna face.
She decided to do that as she grabbed a small bowl along with grabbing a canteen pouring some water into it. Then she placed a small cloth into it dipping it inot it a few times. Then she walked over to luna beginning to clean the dirt off her cheek scrap.
Luna struggled slightly because to her it hurt as she had teary eyes as haru noticed this.
"Oh don't worry sweetie it'll be over just be strong. will be done before you know it"haru said whipping a tear away off the young bat face with a her thump. Luna still had teary eyes about to cry.
"It hurts"she said innceontly as weiss was soon done. Then she grabbed a q-tip then placed it in a bottle of iodine as she dipped it in their for a moment.
"I know sweetie tell you what you let me finish this then we could give you a treat for being a tough little girl"weiss offered making the bat gripp haru hand with her all her might preparing for it. The two found it a little adorable as gently weiss swapped down the cheek scrap as it started to classify almost imemdialty.
After that was doen she threw it away sealing the bottle of iodine then grabbed a bandaid with a cartoon bear on it placing it on her cheek. Then she booped her on the nose.
"Their we go. That should solve that now we need to…"She was stopped as the bat reminded her of something.
"Where my treat?"luna asked innocently but demandliyl. Haru smirked before reaching behind her back then pulled out a thin air a lollipop to the little girl amuzemrnt. Luna immediately took it chomping down on it with a look of glee.
Haru smiled"well that what good little girl get for being so tough. Though…i…"haru stopped coughing slightly into her hand for a moment. Which concerned weiss for a moment.
"Are you doing alright haru? That cough has been pretty frequent for the last two days now"weiss said since she keeps coughing alot for the last two days. Soon it settled as haru cleared her throat.
"I'll be fine though lets check up on how the others are doing right now"haru said picking luna up holding her as the two returned to the other two. As eria was in the middle of having some kids playing a game right now being duck duck goose. But for mindy she was being climbed on like a playground as four kids where on her giggling and laughing right now.
Then the two noticed them as haru chuckled setting luna down as she walked off to another part of the tent. haru with weiss help removed all the kids off of midny who sighed in relief at that moment.
"Thank you seriously you guys were gone for like five minutes and they already surrounded me"she said
"Hey it was pretty cute though i might need some help here for a bit. Could you please since this cough has been getting pretty freuqaute"haru begged as the three nodded at that.
"Sure thing i wouldn't mind…"weiss stopped as she yelped because someone pulled on something beneath her coat it seems. That being dan who was holding something in his hands.
That being underneath weiss coat was a pur white arctic wolf tail with icy blue seeming very fluffy that hanged just below her knees as it swayed back and forth rapidly.
"fulffy "dan said innocently as he let go of the tail as she pulled his hand away.
"That is attached to my body sweetie"weiss growled as her temper started to flare.
"Dan what i have i told you about touching other people tails. You need to go in timeout now"haru said to his defeat as he was placed in timeout the kids worst nightmare at times. Eria chuckled slightly recalling her friends new feature.
"I sometimes forget that you have that now which i still find very strange"eria replied
"Yeah who would have every imagine the schnee heiress would have a tail. But you don't gotta keep hiding it everyone seems fine with it"midny replied as weiss sighed.
"I know but its just…everytime i'm in here they keep pulling on it"weiss whined in annoyance at her new apenedage. As the three decided to help out at the daycare for today to ease the tension on haru work loud.
Although over at the main tent of the camp that being raven tent right now as she was doing one thing right now. That being mediaiting on the floor of her tent right now deep in thought. Mainly for one thing what she lost in the previous week.
The women is also very focused on waiting for her brother to arrive so they could head to havan as soon as possible at any moment. Because if the white fang are working with that witch it means their next target is the lamp of knowledge. Something that witch shouldn't have her hands on.
But she was also very focused on supplying her tribe with the necessary supplies because vernal keeps attacking their caravans more and more in the last week. They have plenty of supplies to last them a long time but with tomorrow arriving it will be very important. Mainly since she sent word to her tribe around the continent to send some of their warriors to assist them in dealing with vernal.
Along with that gahtering her council for certain regions in the anima since her and qrow decided to create a council to discuss any problems. They are still considered the leaders of the tribe but they needed people to discuss their issues and how to solve them. They don't have all the answers. But she was also focused on one thing eyeing a picture frame close by.
Standing up from her spot she walked over picking it up with a sorrowful look because it showed a younger her and qrow. Alongside a younger verona with a few others but one stuck out to her melissa.
"I should have never sent you out on that mission meli. Maybe then you wouldn't have endured torture for an entire then you could be here. By my side still"Raven said to herself missing her dear friend she thought died but was alive.
Raven began to pace around her tent"sometimes i wish that if i went their in your stead to lead our troops maybe then they wouldn't all be dead. Though if i died then where would that leave the trip with my idiotic brother leading it"she continued thinking she was by herself right now unknown to her someone was listening to her the entire time.
She gently placed the picture frame on a nearby desk sighing rubbing her eyes"but that would also leave me daughter without a mother if i died that day. I should have thought about it moe and sent more warriors with you. Or at least search for you unlike searching a fruitless effort that being my brothers wife."she finished growling slightly until the mysterious person spoke up.
"Come on rae that aint like you to talk like you don't think sum is still alive"Dravan said entering her tent as she quickly gain her stoic composure.
"You know its quite rude to not knock when you enter and evasdrop on someone deep in thought"Raven warned
"Rae their is no door to this thing more like a flap. Look if you wnat i can redo it"dravan said stepping out then the tent flaps moved slightly as he made a knocking sound on the tent.
"Can i come in?"he asked joignly as the women kept an annoyed stare at the tent flaps sighing heavily.
"You may come in…god why did verona fall in love with you"raven said rubbing her temple hard at the moment. Dravan chuckled stepping in as his tail swayed around as he took a seat in a chair as his tail swayed side to side.
"She fell in love with me for my good looks and my charm that pierced that women heart. Besides you should be happen your best friend has now one of the most adorable little girls in all of remnant"he cooed as she smiled slightly.
"Ah i see you smiling"dravan said as she tried to play it off.
"I'm not smiling just thinking how amusing it is that you say your very charming. I recall back in beacon you and jaki got into alot of fights back in the day"raven jabbed as he wanted to rebuttal but couldn't find a decent one.
Dravan put his hands up in defeat"you got me their rae though you still pretty torn up about what happened to melissa aren't you"he asked kwnoignly as she kept her stoic face glancing at the picture frame.
"Why wouldn't i be? She was someone i knew my entire life though i need to let go that shes gone now. But that she also at peace and at least she saw her daughter on last time"Raven stoicly said
"That may be true but seems mai is torn up about it poor women seemed so happy she saw her again. but.."Dravan stopped glancing at the table at what they managed to recover from the cackling gull. That being the pictures from lazuli wall of evidence as it showed the picture of someone back being torn open. Along with a picture of a chimera grimm as he narrowed his gaze at it.
"I still can't believe this type of grimm existed in our world. Something able to hijack someone body like a puppet"he said still baffled by all this.
"You wouldn't be wrong its making me a little paranoid thinking that other people have those things in them. Though no one here seems to be showing any grimm like features their eyes for example except for the few born with that color of eyes"raven replied since they know that a identifying trait of these grimm hybrids would be their ghost white skin just like that witch salem.
As the two sat in silence for a moment raven stared at a map of the entire valley right now with several circles along with small little statues spread around the place. Mainly being places cirrcled where she was trying to find vernal camp along with stopping her. Because if this continue most of her tribe might question her will right now. Because she keeps her stoic look but she noticed in the last week a few of them have had doubts about her everysince she broke down crying and hesitated to kill a grimm knight. She just couldn't do it.
Dravan noticed her staring at the map sighing"look i understand your looking for her right now. But once qrow and the others get here then we have a chance"he said
"I know but right now i hope that my brother is smart and kept my niece and daughter safe. Along with who shes traveling with"raven replied
"You mean my other niece who went out to kill people. Because she lost so many people close to her"dravan sadly replied upset his favorite niece would try to kill someone.
"That terrible to hear still old friend. I'm sure my niece is hurt as well i wasn't their when tai and qrow broke the news to her. She must have taken it very hard"raven replied before a thought came to dravan mind wanting to ask something.
"Hey where mai by the way i haven't seen her much this morning?"dravan asked as a small smirk came to raven face.
"She busy keeping an eye on tarrus and that blackburn girl. Making sure that her so called prisoner doesn't leave her side"raven said as the man chuckled at that as the two discussed a few things to pass the time right now.
Although across the way right now in an open field right now nothing was stirring right now as the the birds chriped and tweeted their songs in the nearby trees. As a crisp wind blew through kicking some of the grass and leafs up from the ground.
But on a rock sitting close by was mai with her spear out at the ready watching and waiting for something right now. Because she was assigned to watch two specific people to make sure those two didn't run into any trouble while their out here.
That being two people right now as right now with their respective swords drawn at each other was lazuli and adam. As the two were now locked in a power struggle as neither of their weapons refused to move at all. Adam kept pushing forward as his red katana blade gleaned in the sunlight.
Eventually in their power struggle he broke it before pushing her back as she planted her feet hard into the ground. But she wasn't expecting him to rush at her beginning to delivery a barrage of slashes and vertical slices at her several times.
The thief was expecting that as she kept blocking them the best she could with her abilities as he kept chipping down her aura for a bit. But after adam reeled his sword back for an upward slash she jump back smirking because thats what she wanted right now. As she quickly flicked her wrist extending her wrist mountain crossbow dubbed wisp and kept her sword stinger in hand.
Lazuli aimed her wrist at him firing a few bolts in his direction but he was quicker as he began to dodged and weave his way through the arrows dodging msot of them. But he managed to get hit by a couple that dealt large damage to his aura.
But he decided to change up his strategy as he pulled out his sheath firing off a few shots at her hitting her once sending her back a bit. Then as lazuli flipped up she was quickly met by his sword again as she quickly blocked his strike as their blades sparked together. She then reeled her foot back kicking him in the ankle as he grunted kneeling slightly.
Lazuli laughed"ha! Eat that bull boy guess you aren't so quick like you said"she taunted
Adam laughed at that"you wanna know something girl?"he asked
"Oh and what that?"she asked readying her blade. Immediately adam shot up sheathing wilt then he pressd a trigger on his sheath launching the blade into lazuli gut hard as she gasped for air. This resulted in her going flying.
The thief went flying a bit away from them as she landed hard on the ground as the wind was knocked out her as she began to cough for a moment. But as she landed she looked up because she felt something on her neck.
That being the red colored blade to her neck as adam was staring down at her with a disappointed look.
"fiffteen. fifteen times i coulve'de killed you. Five times in the adboemn, three times in the back, four times in the heart, and finally three more times in your head. You need to stop being so cocky when you fight"adam said removing his blade from her neck.
"Your enemy will kill you without warning, be aware of that"he said sheathing his blade.
"I'll take a note of that but seriously were just training don't be so serious bullboy"lazuli taunted
Adam stopped a moment before getting a better look at her before he spoke again.
"I thought i told you not to call me that anymore its rather annoying"adam said as the two walked back over to mai who laughed at that.
"Buts it funny seriously kid i may not be a few years older than you but liven up a little. It'll do you some good right now"mai replied though she herself had a bit of bags under her eyes. Mainly because she been crying for the last week straight rigth now.
Lazuli groaned sitting down exhausted right now rubbing her sore side right now from that gut punch.
"Yeah though seriously that sword packs quite a punch, seriously who decided to invite gunsheathes those things hurt"lazuli whined slightly.
Adam had a canteen of water unscrewing the cap before taking a drink of the cold liquid inside it. As he took a nice long sip he set it down before handing her it as she got a drink of the nice cold liquid herself. "Nah i rather take a quick break before we head back to camp. Gotta make sure my prisoner in tip top shape before we wisk you off to jail after were done with havan"lazuli declared but mai internally laughed at that because this girl has been hanging around him for an entire week straight.
She was tasked with keeping an eye on them since raven says she trust him since he put her mother out of her misery which she hates that he killed her. But at the same time could see the pain in her eyes wondering what attroicites that thing made her do. It pained her seeing her go but at least she got to say her goodbyes unlike last time.

"Look i know…i'm just worried about her right now along with my siblings. I'm gonna retrieve my bolts"lazuli said beginning to retrieve her crossbow bolts but as she did adam admired her from a distance as she was out of earshot for the two. But this didn't go unnoticed by mai who smirked.
"Aww now isn't that just cute"mai teased
"What are you balbbering about?"adam asked
"Oh c'mon even a blind person can see that you have feelings for lazuli. Even you won't admit it seriously she keeps hanging around you everyday for the last week"mai said as adam looked away almost like trying to hide a blush from her.
"Its justs…i don't…you don't know what your talking about"adam replied trying to playing it off like it was nothing.
Mai however only hummed at that"keep telling yourself that though someday you'll see it"she said teasingly still. As lazuli picked up her bolts she had a thought cross her mind thinking about her so called prisoner for a moment. Which caused her heart to beat slightly faster but shook her head, she can't like that terrorist can she?. After maybe ten minutes she got all her bolts.
"Alright got them all now lets head back to camp to relax"lazuli said as the two nodded at that as they made their way back to camp. As lazuli kept eyeing adam the entire way as the two avoided each other gaze. But mai internally laugh shaking her head, these two where pure comedy.
