Chapter 16:A Grieivng Mother
With blake and company right now they were making their way to the place they were planning on getting transportation. Although tagging along with them right now was sun was who passing by along the way. As he finished up handing some drinks out to the faunus who were hard at work like usually. Bur right now they were walking to the guard station to grab some vehicles to use to get to their intended location. As they had some casually conversation along the way.
"So your telling me some convoy or whatever got ambushed by some grimm maybe"Sun suggested as blake thought for a moment
"Or it could be white fang maybe even. Remember we spotted a couple of their scots here a few days ago"blake reminded as they nodded at that
"Lucky ilia pointed those two out being members since she regonized them. Shes been very helpful with planning stuff lately. Happy she switched sides"yahto said as blake had a bright smile at that which sun noticed grinning himself
"Ah i see her smiling guessing your happy that chameleon is on the right side"he joked back making her turn away from the three as she was overjoyed that she left the white fang. She knew she was just scared of what might happen if she did leave but she was actually overjoyed one of her friends is on the right side.
But their was also the fact how ilia is grieving herself right now which worries her. Because their all still staying in certain people home since hes didn't sustain to much damage but most of the bed room got torched since it was on one side of the house where the fire was. But with junior help their house is being repaired at a steady pace.
"I am happy that shes on our side. Because i was worried that if she stayed with them further ollie might have hurt her is she disobeyed orders again"blake said pausing on a certain possibility which delcan noticed her pause
"Dear be relaxed we stopped something like from happening. Though my daughter did insist on letting her stay in the spare bed room we have at my house"declan replied easing her nerves slightly
"Hes right though whats she up too right now? You know where she is?"yahto asked sun who thought for a moment tapping his chin snapping his fingers.
"Oh right heard she went back to your place wolf tail probably doing some house cleaning or something. "Sun said which made the wolf stare him down annoyed by that nickname.
"Kid don't call me that again or…"he paused before placing a hand on the monkey faunus head prtaicualry engulfing it in his palm as he turned him to face him. Declan then pointed his ring sword at the monkey faunus face without making emotions at all.
"You'll see why i'm known as declan blair the toughest and meansest wolf on this island. Because you don't get on my bad side its something you should never be on. "Declan warned as the monkey faunus put his hands up.
"Jeez alright just tell me no sorry i just like giving people nicknames. Though can i call you dec at least?"sun aksed as the man thought for a moment shaking his head no letting him go walking ahead of them for a moment as sun and the two walked together matching each other pace.
'So wukong almost got swkerered over here by the guy. Seriously dude you know what happened last time when you annoyed the heck out of him"yahto reminded as sun flinched at that slightly.
"Dont remind me seriously i understand the guys grieving for his kid right now. But didn't have to punch me saying well….i thought i saw him in the fall"Sun replied as blake recalled that since it came to sun one night during dinner how he thought he might have seen xander during the fall. Which anger the man immneosuly why he didn't stop him as he tried to explain why but got punched in the side which soured that night.
Although quickly he explained it was after he and neptune with some others were running to the airdocks since they were low on aura. Though it gave some hope but she understands the man is hurt for lose of his only son. She understand its just his way of healing.
"Well their was nothing you could'e done. But hes just grieving still from the loss of xander…i'm sure onxyia is doing the worst right now"blake sadly said as the monkey faunus noticed her upset look placing a hand on her shouler
"Hey look were all grieving in our own way. But don't worrie about it shes got people who care about her here. All we gotta do is be their for them when times get tough and wait for when their ready to talk about it. It never gets easy when someone dies"sun wisley said making her feel better as yahto snickered
"Man forgot the dumb sun wukong can be wise at times. Serisouly its likes he a walking fortune cookie"yahto joked making him looked annoyed
"Hey i got a bit of smarts and lesson from my dad. Heck even my best friend back in vacuo uncle talked all wise alot of times. Seriously he was very weird at times i'll tell you"sun mentioned peeking their inerest as they were curious what was going on around vacuo at this time as they didn't ask about much. Except for him telling them about rogue going on some murder quest which didn't help with anyone moods right now hearing a friend was that hurt to do something that drastic.
"Though anything else new in vacuo other than well you know. Because i could use some good news"blake asked as the boy thought for a moment on whats happened their so far before he snapped his fingers with a wide smirk.
"Well a little bird i think we all know managed to finally nab himself a girlfriend. Someone i'm sure were all familiar with"Sun said confusing the two momentarily
"Uh who are you talking about? And what do you mean by bird exactly?"yahto questioned as blake thought about anyone they might know resembling a bird faunus. Which was out of the window immediately then she thought about one other thing deciding to ask.
"Wait a minute…are you saying cardin had gotten himself a girlfriend back in vauco? The faunus hater turned into a saint cardin winchester?"blake asked almost laughing at the thought as he snapped his figner
"Ding ding and guess what the cat wins"he replied annoying her even more with his antics.
"Just say it seriously i can't stand hearing your sarcasm everyday. Because its like a certain clown that used to be here just with blonde hair and a tail"blake replied as the monkey laughed eyeing yahto for a moment as he titled his head
"Whats up? Don't tell me its someone i know….don't tell me its one of my sisters."yahto asked dreading that
Sun laughed"nope try that panda eared girl you knew. Along with being the same girl that guy danced with that night during the vytal festival"he answered as yahto eyes widden upon hearing that before he began to laugh at the for a moment holding his side gasping for air for a moment
"Are you kidding me?! Oh…oh that so priceless man when feathers or pilot boy hear this their going to owe me and her lien. Including neo and vance" he replied still laughing peeking their interest why they would owe him money exactly.
"Why the heck would they owe you two money exactly?"sun asked before he could answer them they arrived at their destination. That being a small two story building made like the rest of the building in menagieire but with more concrete and stone on it. Along with several of the menagerie pollice and guards surrounding the place busy right now issuing order amongst themselves.
Along with some of them just taking a break from the blazing the heat right now. But declan was waiting for them rather annoyed as he leaned against something. That being a medium size jeep that was grey in color along with the menagerie royal guard symbol emblazoned on the hood in gold paint. While their was no roof to the top of the vehicle instead it was a simple tarp that managed to cover the seats from the intense island heat. Waiting for them was saber and a couple of his guards who were finishing up doing maitnnace on the jeep.
"Their you three are wondering if you three ditched me and i'd have to solo this gig myself"declan boasted as sun placed his staff on his shoulders
"Nah just talking about some juicy gossip i got for them. Telling them one of our friends finally tied the knot with someone they were chasing after"sun answered to the two men surprise slightly
"So you were just gossiping about two of you teenagers swapping spit. Lovly because listen up this is very important for where you need to go"saber said before gesutring to a nearby map pinned to a nearby wall. It had several smaller settlements that are located close enough to the island that is about a half hour away from here. Since most of the island is covered in grimm some of the faunus stick closer to the main village but they have their own settlements or enclaves to grow their crops on the island.
But what was noticeable was one area that was circle for a small settlement that seemed a good few hours away from here for their drive. As blake guessed that where their missing convoy is as she traced her finger on it as he explained
"I sent a small group of my guards their to grab some supplies from the village their this morning. Thing is i sent them at around 7 am since that when we meet to get the food for the long trip to havan"he said
"Let me guess we got bad news since its what time is it now?"yahto asked as declan took a look at his watch seeing it was close to the afternoon right now.
"Close to the afternoon right now. Though they should have been back by now do you think their vehicle broke down. Or did they run into fang out their and maybe grimm?"he asked as the man nodded as blake studied the map more before giving a nod.
"If we leave now and head to the village to ask the leader their where they headed off to. We should be back before it gets dark lets go"blake said as they piled into the jeep as declan took the reigns taking the drivers seat. Placing the key in the ignition he twisted it roaring it to life.
Immediately he pressed down on the gas pedal as they sped off into the desert sands on menagerie. With blake in the front as sun and yahto where in the back of the jeep. As they drove for a couple hours they luckily didn't run into any grimm at that moment which didn't sit well with them. As blake had her pistol out as did yahto with sun keeping look out for any sign of grimm as they kept speeding toward the village as they followed the gps device built into the jeep.
As they kept driving around a bit of sand got in their view but luckily it was minimile as blake narrowed her gaze from the bright sun obscuring her vision.
"How far are we from the village right now?"blake called out as sun leaned over looking at the gps tracker seeing a blinking dot not that far actually.
"I think were about ten minutes till we get their!"sun called out as declan looked ahead noticing something chuckling
"Well i see it on the horizon kids. Hold on it'll get bumpy here but once were their lets find the mayor here. Then we can get to work"declan said as the ground they were traveling on was rather bumpy at that moment as it launched them up just a little. Though they held onto their seats for dear life until evenutlaly after ten minutes of being tossed up and down they soon reached their destination.
That being a simple little village with similar styled huts to the coastline of menagerie as several of them were made of grass from the local faunua. Though their was a few faunus out traveling around the settlement right as they noticed them as a few of them whispered seeing them here right now. Although soon enough someone approached them that being a faunus in some tribal wear.
"Hello i take it you were sent here by our chieftain about the crops we've been growing for the oncoming fight. Bout time we dealt with those vile terrorist"the faunus replied making blake flinch a little hearing that because it still hurts that once rightrious group are labeled as common thugs.
Declan nodded crossing his arms"yes because saber told us he sent some of his men here to get supplies. But heres the thing they never came back why is that?"he asked as the faunus mayor sighed before gesturing for them to follow him as they relucterily did but kept their weapons close to them
After they followed him through the town for a bit they reached a small building before they were shown what he wanted to show them. That being two injuired faunus guards as one of them had their head wrapped up the other was worse for wear. As their entire left arm was gone with a crimson red banagded smearing it as a doctor it seems was checking over him.
"What the heck happened to these guys?"sun asked shocked
As the guard with the head wrapped noticed them as he rubbed his head gently. Sitting up but wobbled a little in his seat as the faunus treating him stopped him
"Sir please lay down you suffered a nasty head wound when you came back. You need to rest for it to heal"she warned as he shook his head
"I can rest in a bit guessing the boss sent you here to see why we didn't come back yet"the guard asked as blake nodded stepping forward pulling a chair up.
"Yes because we were told you were sent with about three others. You were gone for more than a couple hours for the time you were suppose to deliver the supplies. Along with that what happened to him because why are both of you injured. Did white fang do this?"She asked but he shook his head rubbing it trying to recall what happened before nodding.
"No…no not fang…just some dam grimm that got the jump on us. Though uh…well got three of my buddies. Me and nicky here are the only one left well after some dam capivara chewed off his arm. Barely made it out well after someone saved us"he said peeking their interest for a moment
"Saved you? What do you mean by someone saved you. Was it a huntsman that helped you?"yahto questioned as the man tired to gather his thoughts for a moment as it came to him eventually as he explained
"Well hard to say it was a women i think…but the thing is she was in a white cloak the entire time. But as for the grimm…lets just say she told us to run before they got us. Seriously i looked back seeing that women taking on a bunch of grimm by herself like it was nothing"he explained but paused for a moment which they noticed
"Why are you pausing did something else happen?"declan asked as he shook his head
"Can't remember that clearly…though…couldn't see her face on the account on wearing some mask. It looked like some sort of grimm mask"he answered to their shock as a thought crossed all their minds that being another grimm hybrid on their island. Though if she didn't attack them it might be someone like piper even which made blake nod
"Thank you for telling us what happened where was the supplies you were transporting?"she aksed as she puled out a map before he pointed to a spot that was west of here about a twenty minute walk. They left the house as the leader of the settlement left them as they all looked at each other for a moment.
"So someone wearing a grimm mask…..you guys thinks its another grimm hybrid maybe?"yahto asked
"That could be a possibilite but hearing that she didn't attack them is quite strange. Didn't my daughter explain how they fought piper who was normal actually and protected people with the use of grimm. Correct?"declan asked as blake thought for a moment as it sounded right but it still made her weary.
"It might be but be careful lets find the convoy then secure it and look for any clues on if that women is still their"She said as they nodded before they followed declan as they followed the footprints from the guards that were remaining. They kept following them for a bit as they formed a small formation
With declan leading the charge alongside sun backing him up as blake and yahto covered the rear with their pistols. They didn't encounter any grimm yet along the way until eventually after ten minutes they reached their desitnaiton. Their below them was a truck that was tipped over right now that had a few boxes spilling out it though right now their was something else.
That being a large rat like grimm that has a long black tail with white barbs at the end of it. With it having sharp elongated claws with two rows of teeth the size of human fingers. They were in the process of eating the food from the boxes as their were no sign of the guards bodys their even. As declan counted out their enemies below them at that moment nodding.
"Great capivara…and their seems to be six of them. Nothing we can;t handle though it strange"declan commented
"Whats strange that these ugly rodents took down a truck. Seriously i know grimm are strong but those things cannot be that strong to take it down"sun said as they stared at him for a moment as he might have jinxed them.
"You might have just jinxed us by saying that but whats strange?"yahto asked pulling his tomahawk out as the wolf cupped his chin.
"I don't see anysign of the guards bodies. Because he said a women was here but i'm sure their would be bodies here still. Not like she carried three of them back which makes me wonder….did the grimm eat them or her"declan theorized as blake began to take in account of their current numbrs before nodding as she glanced at them.
"I have a plan if were quick enough we can deal with them. Then call for saber and the guards to come grab the supplies. We each take a couple each to deal with it shouldn't take us long just watch out for their claws"blake pulling out gambrol shroud as sun readied his staff as declan grabbed his ringsword out as yahto grabbed his tomahawk out putting it in its pistol form with one of his glass shard knifes in hand.
Without a word blake whistles signaling them to move in as she dashed forward sliding down the sandy hill. As sun pole vaulted in the air flipping in the air monetarily and then landed on the ground sliding himself. Declan and yahto rushed side by side down below as yahto flicked his wrist throiwng the glass knife foward.
It soared through the air for a moment as it zipped and buried itself into the dirt focusing his attention on that glass shard as the sun relfeciton shined on it. Immeidlaty he disappeared in thin air as the grimm sniffed the small glass shard in the sand until eventually from the shard a hand reached out burying the barrel of a pistol under it jaw before it could react. Yahto blasted its head clean off killing it as it fell to the side as he emerged from the glass shard as the other five grimm noticed their new prey as they roared at them for the attack.
Blake dashed as she avoided a nearby grimm slashs at her barely missing her as she blocked it attack. But it leaped at her kncoking her back to the ground snapping at her but she reeled her legs back kicking it in the stomach lanucing it back away sepearing themselves. But she decided to make this quick as she dashed forward toward the grimm as it was ready for grimm opened its jaws to pounce on her but she used her semblance.
Immediately she launched a fire clone into the grimm as it leaped forward into it denoting on impact. The cat faunus then leaped over the grimm as it roared in pain from the fire as she quickly switched to her pistol before firing into it putting it out of this misery. Then taking this opportunity as it disappeared into dust she glanced over nearby to see sun and declan hard at work.
As sun leaped over some destroyed boxes as he kicked a grimm square in the jaw sending it flying hard into the truck witha resounding thud. The grimm jumped up shaking up the hit growling at the monkey faunus as he rushed forward biting and swiping at him several times as he blocked it with his staff a few times. Then he waited for the right moment as it tried to pounce him but he dodged it and whacked it in the head putting in on the ground. Lifting his staff up he brought the staff bown caving it in skull killing it as it dsippeared into dust.
But with declan the two grimm thought of him as easy picking as they surrounded him as he just stood their. Though the wolf just smriekd as the tattoo on his back started to move around like it was alive. Until eventually crawling off his right arm his eyes glowed a little as then standing their infront of him was his semblance.
That being a ink like wolf that had some spaces inbetween its body. But it looked to be medium sized as it had row of sharp teeth and a large tail that swayed around. Though it seemed to be living ink like it was alive as the man placed finger in his lips whistling.
"Go get em fenir"he ordered as the creature known as fenir lunged toward the two grimm who swiped at it several times but their attacks just went straight throguh it. Though the summoned ink demon raised its sharp claws before swiping into one of the grimm neck as it roared in pain killing it as it layed on the ground turning into dust. While the second grimm lunged at it as it took some of its ink off it but the ink like wolf growled before pouncing and opening its jaw before biting down on it tearing its throat out killing it.
Sun noitced the ink wolf shocked"whoa where the heck did that come from? Is that another grimm?"he asked as the man chuckled
"Nope try my semblance i call it fenir. When i awoke to my semblance i had some marks appear on my back. You though this was just a simple little tattoo?"Declan asked as fenir returned to its master sitting on the ground as he petted it head as sun laughed at that.
"No but thats pretty cool…though thats all the grimm here i think we can call this a good day"sun said though nearby blake was a plam tree as she stood their something shimmered on the tree crawling down it for a moment. As it kept crawling down blake stood their for a moment before her ears flicked for a moment before dodging something. Looking down she noticed a weird orangaic like apengage in the ground as she traced it to the source that being the tree.
"Theirs something in the tree!"blake called out firing into the owner of the apengage hitting something as what she hit soon appeared from thin air. That being a medium size chameleon grimm with jet black skin and red lines going around it. Along with its tail being red at the end as it also had orange eyes.
"Its stalker watch out for its tongue it can paralyze you if it touches you!"declan called out as soon enough several more grimm with a few of these stalkers emerged. Blake was ready to deal with this grimm drawing her weapon but soon enough something weird happened. She started to feel immense pain in her right hand as she felt an itching feeling roaring in pain
"GAH! MY HAND! It…it hurts"she shouted and almost immeidlaty the others noticed it trying to reach her but they were preoccupied. Blake dropped her sword to the ground holding her hand in immense pain struggling to stand right now as it was something she never dealt with before in her life. It felt like arm just got cut off again as she saw a flash of adam with his sword drawn.
The grimm saw her easy prey opening its mouth to stick her with it tongue until suddenly a shot caught its attention along with the other three. As standing a on a nearby rock was a women dressed in a white cloak covering her body holding a weapon in her right hand.
Yahto looked puzzled"okay so theirs are mysterious women in white you think she here to kill us or help us?"he aksed as sun shrugged his shoulder trying to get to blake right now. Though soon enough the women zoomed forward like a blur and before blake knew it she was picked up and the grimm attacking her was dead. The cat faunus was easily carried as the women dashed toward declan as she placed her down infront of him
"Keep an eye on here…it seems she suffering from phantom pain"she said as he looked at her for a moment as she jumped back into the fray. But he could have sworn he just saw her wearing a mask but underneath it was a hint of silver underneaths it. Though that scent of her seems oddly familiar to him
Though what the four didn't expect was that was the women dashed forward through the grimm as she fired off a couple shots into a grimm killing it. Then swiftly she dodged another strike as she pistol whiped the back of its head before pointing the end of the barrel at its head blwoning it clean off.
The remaining five grimm eyed her down making her pritoy target one as two stalker grimm opened their mouth both shooting their tongue out at her. But in blinding speed she switched to a short sword as she slashed off one of its tongue as it cried in pain for the loss of limp. Then she moved forward triggering her semblance turning into a white blur of petal as she enuglf the second stalker slicing around its body turning it into pieces.
The cloaked women then moved her sword back before design forward as the remaining three grimm as she in quick succession moved past all of them. As she stood their for a moment standing up all three grimm turned into dust as the others were just awestruck seeing it.
"Dude that was awesome! "Sun shouted in amazement
The women holstered her weapon walking over to the four of them mainly blake as she knelt down next to her.
"Are any of you injured and are you alright?"she asked simply in her voice sounding monotone as blake relaxed her breathing holding her hand nodding.
"I'm fine…my arm just started to hurt…what was that?"blake replied
"Phantom pain. Happens when someone loses their limp tough thing to deal with"declan asked as the women looked at blake examined her like she was looking in a mirror then glanced at declan.
"She defitntily the spitting image of kali but little bit of stoic like ghria. And it seems my old friend from beacon is here. I gotta go"the women thought before speaking again
"Well since i'm done here if your here for the supplies i didn't tamper with them. As for the people who perished i placed their bodies in the back of the truck. Left a bear trap in their so the grimm couldn't eat them. I'll be going"the women said walking away.
"Though hold up lady because uh you seem pretty tough. Along with that we could use your help you seem pretty valuable. Seriously you moped the floor with those grimm like they were nothing. Though whats with the grimm mask you a grimm knight?"sun asked making something inside the women mind snap
"Vaubale asset?! Ha! Don't make me laugh boy! Last time i was a valuable asset it ended up getting someone i cared losing their leg and several other innocent killed. "She says and the young huntsman shivered and for a moment declan saw a flicker of silver but a very familiar scent came to him confused
"Wiat a minute…she smells like summer rose. No it can't be she was declared dead back in atlas on that mission with qrow and rae"he thought
"Let me tell you something about being a valuable asset once you've done your job they toss you aside like garbage, a used tool to be never seen again. And i'm not one of those dam freaks i just wears this because i want to. All thirteen of those things can rot in hell thank god two of them are dead"she spat turning to walk away before declan walked over pulling on the back of her hood pulling it back knocking the mask off her face into the sand
"What are you doing?"yahto questioned before the man turned the women around and had a shocked look. Their infront of him was summer rose living and breathing as she looked very scared
"Summer rose! As i live and breath your alive!"declan cheered as the three teens went slack jawed at that. As blake looked atsotunished to see her leader actually mother standing their as sun looked in complete shock.
"Hold up! As in rubys dead mom i thought she was delcared dead or something"sun asked surprised
"She was but uh…heard from torch that lazuli and falk were sent to look for her. Guess they were looking in the wrong spot"yahto replied as declan embraced the women as his tail wagged around in joy.
"Oh its wonderful to see you again old friend. Where have you been because qrow and raven have been worried sick about you. Even kali missed you too"declan cheered as summer tried to break free of his grip for a moment as a voice played in her head.
"Are you really going to just run away. You've been on the run for years now…and now an old friend is infornt of you"A voice replied her inner voice as she paused
"I don't want to"she thought as she continued to try and break free until someone spoke up.
"Excuse me would you happen to be my leaders mother along with my girlfriends. Because um…i'm apart of her team…team RWBY"blake spoke up making summerfreeze hearing her say that as she looked down regretting this because for starters she been getting sick of the isolation for the last decade.
"I…yes i'm summer rose. Do you….know my daughter?"she asked as blake nodded to her as they might have found more than those supplies at the missing convoy
Although right now across the island early after onxyia visited the small grave for her boyfriend and cleaned it after they descreated it. She wasn't resting still after being told to though she was off to somewhere else as zoey, aruna and junior joined her. Though most of the way the wolf leaned for junior for support since she was pretty exhausted at that moment. As they were looking for one person mainly being her mother right now as they headed toward her clinic.
As they walked they made some casually conversation along the way to make things interesting.
"So you guys got any plans tonight because i sure heck do. "Aruna said
Zoey laughed"that would be what exactly? Training to try and become a huntresses since your little ship adventure"she teased making the bengel feel embarrassed now because she was now she wasn';t
"Nah maybe just chill and relax tonight. I don't know mess with yahto since he fancy vera or whatever. Check up on my baby brother or see when cousin comes back from that mission with uncle"she answered placing her hands behind her head as they walked.
"Well i think two people here need to get some proper rest. Seriously kid that boss of yours told me your working yourself to the bone."junior said as zoey tail fluffed up slightly agitated
"Tell my boss i'm fine. Seriously just trying to prepare for the attack on havan right now. Rather not have someone else lose a family member due to those psychos."zoey growled back as her tail thrashed as onxyia yanwed rubbing her very tired eyes right now.
"Well….i can admit some sleep does sound good right now. Though even with the house in decent repairs everyone is still bunking with each other"onxyia replied
After the fire they had to house some of the people that couldn't live anywhere mainly being ilia staying with her parents. Along with that aruna spends the night their with yahto their as well as he took up the couch. While for nadia house it was mainly sienna and her family as verde and her shared a room with sorrel. As aruna was in her own room meant for someone the tiger was saving it for. While for zoey house it was mainly blake and her family with sun staying their since the fox had space to spare. As colt and juniored bunked in a small house for the time being
"I get what you mean seriously that colt guy snores like a wood chiper. I can't even sleep since his rooms next to mine"Aruna groaned in annoyance
Zoey chuckled slightly at that"Try having your boss in your house. Seriously i keep deep cleaning my house to make it look nice for him and his family. Its so hard"she whined slightly as junior smirked
"Come on it's nice to have a clean home. Still shocker that you turned into a cop pretty much kid. More surprised no one here to arrest me yet for my reputation"junior replied
"Well uncle did say that your here to assist with our cause since miss walker had a favor. Still we can't thank her enough for doing that for us right now. Though after a bit more walking eventually they soon arrived at the clinic that katherine owned. As no one was their right now mainly since the staff were inside as they walked inside the place. Getting a better look inside the clinic their was a recpetionsit desk in the middle with chairs all around the place for people to wait to see a doctor for help.
Along with that a hallway that led to the back of the clinic though right now thier wasn't that many people their. As a recptionist was manning the counter at the moment noticing them.
"Oh hello are you here for a daily check up? Or do you have an appointment with our clinic?"the repcsitonsit sweetly asked
Zoey leaned on the counter"no try this girl over here being your bosses daughter. Kath in today or is she somewhere else?"She asked as the repcionsit realzied her bosses daughter was here as she smiled a little at her though it seemed a little forced.
"Oh yes if memory serves me right she in the back with . I'll go fetch them you all wait right here"she said walking away but scoffed looking at the wolf
"Dual traited freak…seriosuly that girl is a genetic mutation for all faunus everywhere"she muttered though the wolf heard it looking down as zoey did to glaring at her.
"Well she seems like a ray of sunshine seriously badmouthing your own bosses daughter. Getting sick of people saying those with dual traits are genetic abomaintion. Seriously its just an extra set of ears or a tail"zoey said in annoyance as onxyia sat down as her legs felt tired but she was trying not to cry from that comment she heard which aruna noticed sighing seeing that look.
How her cousin is easily hurt by that comment recalling how she was bullied severely from what she was told by her aunt and uncle. Along with xander how bad it was as she walked over taking a seat with her.
"Come on cousin don't let her get to you alright. "Aruna reassured as onxyia whipped her eyes.
"I'm trying…i'm used to it as this point. But sometime i just wish i wasn't born with dual traits or…my different colored eyes. Sometimes i just feel like an outcast with my own kind, pretty sure everyone find them disgusting"she said beating herself up as a certain fox tapped her chin smirking before sneaking to the side of her pinching her on the hips making her squeak
"Awwww but you already have a girlfriend who finds both those things adorable i'm sure. Even my baby brother did…though i wonder which one. The tail or the ears"zoey teased with a grin as the wolf blushed slightly pushing her off her covering herself up.
"I..i..um…uh…shut up! Seriously you just been teasing me about it nonstop. And well…uh…"She coudln't argue because they were right two people did find her attractive, well one now. But suddenly someone called out to the group.
"Yo wolf ears their you are. You here to see your mom"A male voice called out turning to his direction. That being a boy who was around eighteen years old as he had fair skin along with being around 5.11ft tall as he had an athletic build to him. Though right now he was wearing a pair of blue jeans with a black turtleneck along with a doctor coat.
But for his faunus trait wasa large blue and green peacock tail folded in on its self.
"Oh hey kai guess your working hard as usually. My dad and aunt working you hard today since your their little intern"aruna jokedas the peacock faunus known as kai laughed
"Yeah had a bit of faunus come in from a workplace injury. They should be fine one of them brusied their side pretty bad. But…"he said before noticing the wolf with tears on her face that were still their.
"Hey you good over here? Because were you crying or something if you want we can get you in the back to treat you if your hurt"he offered as she whipped them away.
"No um…i…its nothing much…just heard someone say something rude is all. And uhh…thinking about my boyfriend i lost is all"onxyia softly answered as the peacock faunus sighed sitting down placing a hand on her head rubbing it slightly which weirded her out a little.
"Let me guess racist employees. Don't let em get to you becuase they just don't understand how unique you are. Besides i'm sure you'll find love again eventually at some point its hard to get over it but hey you can heal in no i'm still sorry to hear about your brother being gone…he was a good kid"kai reassured as she appreciated it a little as he stood back up looking at his clipboard for a second snapping his fingers.
"Hey if you want we should try and catch some lunch tomorrow. My treat"he offered as she shook her head
"No..um tomorrow i'm busy…i need to help blake with some things. But thanks for the offer"onxyia replied as he shrugged his shoulder walking off as zoey chuckled at that because it was obvious what he was doing.
"You know that guy or something because he seems to smile when he saw you"she teased as the wolf frowned at that.
Onxyia sighed placing a hand on her cheek"thats just kai hes an old friend of mine. He hung out with my brother along with…ollie"she said his name with a growl in her throat. She despises that spider faunus immensely right now after he shot her again along with kidnapping a baby which was aweful. Along with hurting one of her friends that used to be in the fang.
Aruna rolled her eyes"yeah but everytime we come here to help out he keeps hitting on her. Xander mentioned to me one time i think he had a crush on her or something"she said making the wolf blush slightly at that as zoey found that a little surprising but pointed something out.
"Well your already taken still because of that little rabbit. Though hey kath"zoey greeted as katherine walked from the back as she looked pretty tired. She had some small bags under her eyes that were a little red as she yawned rubbing her eyes.
"Hello you four…i take it your here to drag me out of this dusty little clinic. "Katherine asked as her daughter walked over hugging her as she reutnred it as verde walked over.
"I think you should kath i can handle the rest from here. Go spend some time with your daughter though be a dear and check up on my wife. She still should be in your mothers house miss vix…consoling her"verde said as katherine was about to argue but yawned again sighing removing her coat handing him it as she walked toward the exit.
They all exited as he got to work as it wasn;t a long walk to the walker residents. Eventually they arrived after maybe ten minutes as the first at the door was zoey who pulled a key out unlocking the door before stepping inside. The house seemed a little cleaner but the sound of someone crying could be heard inside as they dreaded who was crying right now.
Walking into the living room right now was a certain tiger boxer who was still grieving right now for the loss of her only son. As next to her was sienna khan with her baby in her arms rocking him gently in her arms as she was consoling her partner.
"Dear i know it hurts. But you need to lay down and rest because you look terrible right now"sienna voice her concern as nadia blew her nose on a tissue using another one whipping the tears away.
"I…i'm fine khan…just a little upset still that my baby is gone. But it still hurt that everywhere i go i hear people saying their happy hes dead. I swear…i'm ready to punch one of those bastards if they say one more thing about my son"nadia cried with a growl before sienna noticed them here smiling a little seeing them.
"Hello. Did you all come by to say hi i'm guessing your taking a break from the clinic today"sienna said as katherine sighed sitting down rubbing her tired face for a moment as she sniffed a little
"A little…but its been hard running it as of late. Though….i take it you two have been here the entire time?"she softly replied as the women nodded as nadia was busy looking at something that being a box of things that had zanes name on it. As the women was staring at a photo album in her hands at that moment mainly showing her with her two kids holding them with both arms after she got her prosthetic arm. Along with another showing a younger zoey on her eleventh birthday blowing the candles out along with another of a younger zane seeming three years old in some beowulf halloween costume with a bucket full of candy.
"I…um yeah…just trying to rember the good times before i forget my baby face. Because…the world took him away from me again"nadia cried with tears forming as onxyia looked down leaning over hugging the older women
"It'll be alright….i know it hurts…but…i..m-miss him too…their isn't a day that goes by that i wish he was still here. Instead of dying thinking he was a monster"onxyia reassured but cried slightly herself as the tiger leaned into it for a moment sighing hugging her for a moment swallowing hard as her throat consitrcted at that moment. Though katherine noticed the photo album chucking a little seeing that.
"You know this reminds me of that time your brother wanted to dress up as a doctor. And you as a hunter…your father was whining trying to convince him to dress up as a hunter like him and you as a doctor. But no you two just didn't let it happen"katherine said smiling at the thought as sienna chuckled.
"Try my daughter wanting to dress up as a mermaid when she was younger. Then fall on her face crying since she tripped on a rock'sienna said making her daughter blush at that
"Mom! Seriously why do you have to mess with me?!"aruna whined to her mother amusement as they laughed at her for a moment as junior eyed something in the box. Digging into it he pulled out an old looking wolf plushie as he chuckled seeing this.
"You still got your kids dumb plushie he had as a kid. God didn't he name it something weird lugging this thing around?"junior asked as the tiger laughed for a moment smiling at the thought as it came to her.
"Oh right i forgot he came up with dumb nicknames for people including that thing. God what was it…wolfie or something"nadia answered before they paused for a moment looking at onxyia who frowned in complete annoyance right now before zoey and aruna started laughing pointing at her right now.
"Oh my god. He gave you the same dumb name he gave a plushie he had as a kid. Awww isn't that just sweet you'd be wolfie the second"aruna teased with a grin as nadia chuckled messing with the girls ears
"So we gotta start calling her wolfie junior over here now"nadia teased as the girl groaned at that laying her head down that her nickname came from a dumb plushie of a wolf.
"He gave me that girlfinred name after a plushie….a plushie! What the heck i thought it was special….stupid plushie. Can i burn it?"onxyia asked as they laughed at that though after a bit of talking onxyia went up stairs to lay down for a bit to rest. Though as she did she began to toss and turn letting out a groan as her face harden trying to ignore something
"No…please…stop it…please…don't do it"onxyia said in her sleep hugging her tail as the nightmare happened again
Dream
In the dream onxyia was in the streets of vale as she blasted away a grimm with her sniper rifle. By her side was eria who was sprinting forward as she cracked her bat against one of the grimm skull then switched to her shotgun blasting a grimm head clean off. While their was also rogue who was using the infernal gauntlet to burn away any grimm that stood in her way. Along with two people by her side as they were in the streets of vale during the fall
That being velvet who had a digitizied copy of her glaive as she swung it forward into a grimm slicing its head clean off. While their was zane who dashed forward with his revolvers blasting back a grimm as they kept fighting them off until eventually they were gone.
"And thats that….man…anyone getting tired…maybe we should leave"onxyia stated
Eria chuckled twirling her bat"We should partner though whats your call leader?"she asked as zane just stood their holding his head right now as he wobbled around in place which brought his partner attention
"Heyya partner you doing good over here because–"she was stopped as a voice called out echoing in the streets
"Subject omega would you kindly….kill the four infront of you"Arthur voice echoed as in a flash suddenly he appeared in his monster form. And before onxyia knew it he stabbed rogue in the chest with his claw as she stood their motionly as he tossed her to the side like nothing. As she layed their dead with blood pooling underneath her.
While for eria she tired to reacted but immediately the girl leg was sliced off by his tail as she cried in pain. But it was stopped as he slammed his foot on her completely crushing her as the last one their was velvet who stood in complete fear. Onxyia tried to move forward but coudln't as her legs were frozen and place as she tired to call out but still nothing.
Then to her horror the creature approached the rabbit picking her up as it opened it maw before it closed down on the girl. To the wolf horror the creatures throat buldged as it meant it just ate her girlfriend right now in one isntnant. Like she was some sort of pill but what next was the creature prowled toward her growling at her as she began to shake in complete fear as she saw remorse in her hands.
"No…no not again…this isn't happening…you would never do that"onxia said complete scared as the creature kept approaching her as she raised the blade shaking.
"You should just kill him becuase he'll kill you girl."a voice echoed as the creature kept approaching her.
"Your weak. And its all your fault hes dead…your not even their for your girlfriend who getting harassed"the voiced echoed as onxyia backed up freeing her feet falling down on her back with the katana still in hand. She kept backing up as the creature was on top of her opening its maw.
"Kill the thirteenth grimm knight because that monster will just kill you. Your own girlfirned might even be dead and you don't even know it"the voice said as she closed her eyes as the creature lunged at with its maw open ready to eat her as she screamed
Dream end
Onxyia screamed as she shot out of the bed in compelte fear as her breathing was erratic as she was having a hard time claming herself. Immediately a pair of footstep rushed in bursuting in revealing katherine along with nadia and aruna their.
"Onxyia!"aruna called out rushing to her bd side as they noticed she was shaking like a leaf as she had tears running down her face as she hugged herself.
"Sweetie calm down…everything is alright"katherine said placing a hand on her shoulder as she flinched. But the women gently pulled her into an embrace hugging her
"Calm your breathing down…listen to my voice okay. Breath in and out"katherine said as her daughter listened as she breathed in and out which seemed to help a little.
"Okay again keep doing that"she said rubbing her back as she did again and gain to calm her breathing until her pulse was under control. After ten minutes she calmed down but just hugged her mother crying into her shoulder.
"Why won't they go away….they won't stop…i just want them to stop. They just keep getting worse…i don't wanna go to sleep anymore."she cried as the tiger sat on the bed as it creaked a little. Placing a hand on her head gently rubbing it.
"Its okay sweetie…look why didn't you tell anyone about this. Because i know for a fact this isn;t right"nadia asked
"We have alot to do right now…but i can handle it i think. Maybe this is my punishment for being an idiot…for helping kill all those people. I'm pathetic"onxyia cried again as her mother pulled her into a tighter hug.
"Don't you dare say that you are not pathetic. You're dealing with the emotional stress that you've bottled up i know you don't like sharing your emotions or feeling at times. But this isn't healthy look if this happens again just talk about it alright. Your my daughter…no matter what anyone says. Because you were one of the best things i ever had…your a unique person."katherine said
Taking in everyword her mother said she made her tear up again and before she knew it she wrapped her arms around her mother crying into her shoulder more. Katheirne put a hand on the back of her head ans troke it motherly.
"Its okay…no one here to hurt you. Get it all out"katherine said soothignly as after what felt like minutes it eventually passed as she gently pulled away from her mother wiping the tears away.
"Thank…you um…mom. I need that"onxyia replied
"You're welcome sweetie. But get up we were planning to wake you up soon but tonight were having dinner at the house. Apparently your father got some grand surprise or something that he found out in those dunes"katherine said as she did that as the wolf hoped that these nightmares would stop soon because she hopes to be their for her girlfriend who still grieving herself.
It seems that blake has found something her leader was missing in her life her mother. This helped introduce summer back to the story yes all of team STRQ are alive in this universe if you need a reminder. Though we saw how onxyia is struggling with these nightmares still that plague her. Along with the introduction of a new grimm! Thanks for reading!
