Chapter 22:Councilman and Raid
After the meeting with the council jacuqe returned home to his manor trying to figure out how he could gain custody of his son wren since he stripped his other two ungrateful brats of their tittles. Which makes finding an heir to his company now praituculary impossible right now. Plus to add on to his trouble it seems the general doesn't like him on his parenting styles, he needs to mind his business. Along with that women who runs that runs that branch in the military that he doesn't he know about.
The only thing he wanted to do was please his new partner as he returned to his home to solve this problem. But as he opened the door he was met by someone different than his usually staff.
That benign a women who appeared in her mid forties with a pale skin complexion. She is currently wearing a dark blue maids dress that reaches down to her feet. She had dark blue eyes and snow white colored hair. However underneath her dress is a white fox tail. But around her neck was a sort of collar drastically different from the rest.
In her hands was a tray carrying a few glasses and a bottle of whiskey with his preferred brand
"Here you go sir"the women said as she placed it in front of him as she poured him a glass of whiskey
"I take it the meeting with the council went well sir"she said again
"It did in a way. That blasted general wants to send people to that destroyed city to kill a couple grimm knights. But what he should be worrying about is finding my missing daughter since his incompetence got her taken. Which was under his watch in a way"he said harslhy taking the filled glass before taking a sip.
"If it were up to me i say we just let those other kingdoms burn. If their unable to defend themselves it'll be fine. But to question my parenting style not my fault my deranged youngest daughter whipped her own brother"he said placing the glass down with a smirk.
Which made the fox faunus glare at him slightly and luckily he didn't notice.
"Though it seems he still keeps my wife away from me, though i still have you as a back up aurora"jacque said to the fox faunus also known as aurora Megumi
Aurora felt disgusted but kept her peace for now dipping her head nodding to him.
"It appears so though it appears you have an incoming phone call sir"aurora said gesturing to the holo display on the deks.
Jacque eyed it for a moment seeing the caller ID reading Reo which he knew was his new business partner that he procured to help his endevors. The man eyed the faunus for a moment wanting her to leave.
"It seem i do be a dear and leave make sure the staff are doing what their told. Along with that inform the staff to leave me be"jacque ordered as she left him alone to inform the staff to leave him be. After a bit of time he made sure he was alone as he pressed a button on the holo display.
Soon enough from the holo display the gas masked soldier of the crimson talon appeared with someone else by his side, dorian. Jacque was a little caught off guard by his appearance since he particularly looked like a grimm knight.
"Ah to what do i owe of the pleasure of your visit today?"jacuqe asked neoruvsly right now.
Dorian chuckled placing his arm infront of him"now, now then their no need to be afraid. We;ve worked already before because allow me to introduce myself"he said
"My name is…dorian wolly i'm sure that name is very familiar to you"dorian introduced himself with a bow making jacque go wide eyed hearing that name if he was hearing thing. Because that man was declared dead eight years ago.
Jacuqe chuckled at hearing that name"is…is this a trick? That man died eight years ago in a lab explosion. I find that very hard to believe"he replied in disbelief as reo scoffed as he could feel the venom despite not being in the same room.
"Its not trick schnee, word is that i heard your wife has…left you taking your kid with you. While the other was kidnapped"reo said sudndnely.
"And how exactly do you know that? I take it you have spys in atlas somewhere"jacque asked knwoignly
"Indeed we do as for who we rather not say. But that is tuite a predicament puts a damper on you running the company. I heard she was kidnapped"dorian replied asking folding his arms over each other.
"If your bringing this up i assume you might have an idea where she was or were you the ones that kidnapped her i persume"jacuqe asked seemign to care about his youngest right now but in reality he considered her useless. Always standing up to his rules despite trying to do whats best for her.
Dorian shook his head wagging a finger"we take people for something far more important. Because judging by my appearance and how you know of my name"he said before removing his goliath mask to reveal his face. Which revealed a man with ghost white skin and crimson red eyes along with dark brown hair slicked back. Jacque was shocked his new business partner was these grimm knight, which made him think why their calling this time letting him continue.
"Because for starters i'm here to offer you something wonderful. As you can tell my siblings and i are very durable as you can say. Were the next step in the evolution of the human and faunus race because our queen wants to rule this blasted world beneath her feet"he continued before smirking at him sending a shiver down his spine.
"What exactly are you offering me and how will this benefit me and my company?"jacque questioned.
"That we can offer you something very much more to benefit your company. Protection for when my queen decides to come to atlas"dorian said peeking the man interest immensely.
"That does seem very tempting i assume you won't tell me when or how. But if i do accept his what do you have to gain from this?"jacuqe asked as reo stepped forward.
"We gain new subjects for our army and experiments. And if you agree to this we could even search for any possible heirs you have."reo said surprising the man wondering if he knew of that mistresses he had on the side since he divorced his annoying wife.
"Ah so i take it you know about my many….associates i've had relations with. Are you telling me you could find me a new heir if i can't win wren back?"jacuqe asked as dorian nodded before steeping forward to contine the rest of their deal.
"We could it will take a long time since were terrible busy, but you'll have more than you can ever desire, money, power even ruling atlas when we get the chance to cripple it"dorian offered
Jacuqe mind raced with the opportunity to have that much power right now since his company will flourish if he helps supply them with those workers that he despises. With a smile he answered him.
"I take it we have a deal…but be cautious james has made something to stun you. But i have no resources to access it"jacuqe warned as they nodded sighing off as he just sealed a bigger deal now with his new business partners. All he could hope that blasted general doesn't find out about it.
While down the hall far enough away not listening to the conversation but just worried wherever someone is safe right now away from that man clutches.
Although across town right now was hariett and her group as they were making their way to the upper part of atlas right now. That being the fancier part with lavish style houses, skyscrapers that towered to the heaven. Along with people who seemed mainly from the upper class but some eyed the gorup.
Mainly because miller was still gushing over june was she was on his shoulder smiling humming to hismelf. While the young faunus was enjoying herself right now.
"Higher"june said as he got on his tippy toes trying to get higher but coudln;t
Miller grunted slightly"Sorry sweetie i cant i'm not as tall as my husband."he replied
Diaz rolled his eyes as he gently took june off his shoulder placing atop his as he held her by the ankles in place so she didn't fall down or get hurt. The young faunus smiled as her tail wagged around in a fluid motion in joy right now.
"I take it this is making you happy sweetie. Because unlike your scrawny and short father i'm alot better doing piggybacks"diaz smugly said making miller roll his eyes grumbling to himself.
"Sorry that i'm not as tall as the two giants right here"miller siad directly to diaz and elm who eyed the scared man down slightly.
"Is that a problem with my height or something?"elm said scowling at him right now.
Miller slinked down in fear"no…no…it was a compliment alright i aint making fun of you ederne. Seriously i rather not get on your badside right now"he replied quickly trying to save grace.
Hariet rolled her eyes at this behavior recalling how despite elm current appearance she is rather self conscious when people make fun of her build or height. But the women is also very sweet when she wants to be.
"Alright you two stop it, seriously we gotta look good for when we check up on the councilman and his family"hairet said before pausing for a moment.
"Along with willow and her son including the only two staff she has left"she added
"Oh right i forgot that most of the manor staff got let go recently which was strange. But most of them were compensated pretty well."diaz replied recalling hearing something like that.
As they kept walking for twenty minutes in the freezing weather of atlas as they soon reached their desitnaitn. That being a large skyscraper like building that seemed to have around thirty floors to it. But it was pretty stylish with a canope out front colored dark purple. Along with it being one of the many property of the solomon hotel chains.
Once they quickly got inside they felt relived from the cold weather feeling the heated interior of the hotel.
"Finally somewhere warm seriously at this point i feel like i'm getting frostbite out their or something"milelr said trying to warm himself up right now.
Diaz placed june on the floor and immediately took his hand holding it for dear life. Because a few people were eying them down especially her which made her feel nervous.
"Daddy why are they staring at me?"june aksed innocently.
"I don't know sweetie maybe because you got something most faunus don't. Adorable little traits making you unique"diaz said gently patting her head as she smiled hearing that.
Hariett found it a little adorable since she ran into maybe three people now with dual traits. That little girl, her friend bonnet and that wolf chick on team ZERO. which made her think about that kid for a moment. If she got their faster on time maybe he could have been alive right now.
The general was just going to lock him up from what she was told and that meant his mom could visit him. She recalled how happy the kid was too see her and that sister of his. She only hopes that women is dealing with the grief alright.
They soon arrived at the front desk of where a hotel attendant was as he greeted them.
"Ah are you here to find a place to stay, unfortunately most of our rooms are full right now. Were terrible sorry"he said
"No were not here to rent a room where actually here to visit someone"harriett replied peeking the man interest before pointing to something.
"I'm sorry we have a no visitors policy since most of our residents are very important individuals"he added
The sign in question read exclsuvily"no visitors only customer"in all red with an exclamation point at the end. But miller sighed before stepping forward glaring exclusively toward the man for a moment as his demonor qucikyl shifted
"Well for starters we got clearance here for one coucilman wilkins. I've been here a few times now but since you can't recognize my voice. Call his room now"miller demanded growling slightly
The hotel worker was scared before reaching for his phone tapping the buttons on it for the coucnilman room. It rung for a bit until someone answered as he placed him on speaker.
"Ah hello is their something wrong? Because we don't really need any help right now"A women voice on the other end replied
"Uh no a group of individuals are here requesting for your husband it seems."he replied as the women on the other end hummed at that.
"And to who am i speaking to?"she asked as diaz decided to speak up.
"Its uh diaz and his annoying husband along with our little girl. Along with mrs. bree and mrs. ederne ma'am"diaz answered as the hotel worker realzied finally the two infront of him where apart of ace ops making him change his tune almost immediately.
The women on the other head sighed in relief"oh that wonderful i was wondering when you were all showing up. Please let them come up where on the private suite"she replied hanging up as the worker then guided them to the elevator.
They pilled in as he placed a keycard in the slot as the many buttons in the elevator soon revealed another button secretly hidden. Without a though hairett pressed it as the elevator ride began to ascend to the very top of the floor.
It was a pretty long elevator ride until they eventually got to the top as the doors dinged open. They were met by a very long hallway with maroon colored walls with golden leaf on the walls. But at the very end were a pair of double doors with four people at the end in military gear.
Though their gear was dastically different compared to the rest of the military. As they sported a pair of black combat pants with holsters on opposite hits for their dominate hand. Along with a pair of black combat boots with black laces to match. They also sported a white tactical shirt with red lining it on the arms and shoulder. As the elbow and shoulder had shoulder pads with a matching hood in the back colored red in the interior.
While over that they sported a black tacitcal vest with magazine, grenades, flashbangs and even dust cartridges along with several other things. Mostly things that a soldier would carry on hand as they sported balavas, bandanas, sport shades or nothing at all. But on their shoulder was a patch. That being a centurion helmet with two spears making a cross golden in gold.
But as they apporahced the group the four soldier all saulted to one person that being miller.
"Sir"the four said in unison as he motioned for them to at ease which they did.
"Relax you four, i take it protection detail is going smoothly here?"miller aksed as one of them stepped forward.
"Yes sir, and the coucnilamns family are in safe hands. Are you here to check up on them"she asked
"We are now may you let us inside"hariett asked as she nodded opening the door letting them inside the private suite.
Once inside it was very spacious for a coucnilman since their job is pretty important for their kingdom to run properly. But it had a large dinning table in the center to fit several people. Along with a kitchen close by with new types of cooking appliance since the best requires it. Along with a fridge that is fully stocked with food and drinks to dine on.
Their was two floors as a set of glass stairs went to the second floor it seems with a metal railing. While their was a living room that had a C shape style cloth couch colored medium brown in color. With a large tv to match it with a fire place already lit but behind a glass pan for safety.
Though as they stepped inside that women from the phone seemed to be the one greeting them. The women was around in her late thirties she had tan skin with aero blue eyes, light black hair that reached her shoulders. Her attire consisted of a simple skirt that reached the ground colored tan with a blue sweater that presented her modest bust slightly. While she wore some black dress heels to match. On her finger was a wedding ring silver in color.
While she seemed very much human in appearance.
"Oh their you all are we were wondering if you were going to be late"she replied hugging elm who returned it.
"We wouldn't miss this ma'am. We just want to make sure you and your family are safe. Along with your guest"elm said as if on cue that guest soon spoke up.
"I don't wanna be called a guest persay. I feel like i'm burdening my old friends family by dropping this on him"williow said walking over as she was in a different type of attire it seems.
The women wore a pair of flared black pants with a light purple t-shirt undenreaht a icy blue sweater mixed with some white in between. While she wore a pair of simple brown business shoes.
While holding her hand was wren her youngest child who wore a pair of blue pants with a icy blue long sleeve shirt. Trading in his little butler style outfit for something causal.
"Nonsense ma'am. The general has been good friend before with jacque but that relationship has sour. My soldiers are willing to protect you including a good friend"miller stepped forward bowing before her as a sign of respect.
Willow sighed looking down"yes it appears james did something right at least. Though…i rather not burden your home still area"she said again
Aera huffed at that crossing her arms"dear for starters you've known my husband since you were kids. I don't care about that devil anymore than you"Aera replied
Wren was looking at june as the two stared at each other for a bit until he pointed something out.
"You have two traits….are you a dog faunus?"wren innocently aksed
June titled her head as her tail swayed"no i'm a coyote…i think that what daddy told me"she innocently answered back. Willow relazied the girl with them starry eyed slightly because unlike her husband she actually cared about faunus deeply like her father.
"Well isn't she adorable, its nice to meet you sweetie whats your name?"williow asked as she gently rubbed the top of june head. But this result in the young faunus to have a strained look trying to wriggle free from her gently pet as she began to visible shake.
Diaz noticed it with a worried look"oh dear you might not wanna touch her ears she really doens't like it when you do"he wanted to her confusion.
"Why shouldn't i be doing that does she–"she was stopped mid sentence yelping slightly as she held her hand. Willow looked at her ring finger drew blood slightly as the one who bite her was june. Immediately diaz and miller looked worried if she was going to be mad.
The faunus quickly retreated to where the couch was hiding behind it peeking over visible shaking with a look of fear as her ears flopped over. As someone next to her was startled by her.
"Ah! When the heck did you arrive june?"the girl asked who was a teenager it seems as she was about seventeen for her age. Her skin was tan in color as she had black hair that long curling over her shoulder slightly. While her attire consisted of a pair of blue dress pants with a hollywood cerise dress jacket over a black blouse, sporting a golden dingo broach on her neck. But was also human herself.
"I'm..i'm so sorry for what she did…its just um.."miller couldn't find the words. Willow rubbed her hand as it drew slight blood.
"Did i do something wrong to upset her?"williow asked softly.
Hairett sighed rubbing her eyes"she really doesn't like people touching her ears or tail. She…was held captive by bandits after she was rescue. She only trust about three people to touch em"she answered as willow felt heartbroken hearing that guessing her parents where gone.
"Am..am i in trouble?"june nerovusly asked shaking but willow stepped forward bending down to get on her level.
"No your not in trouble sweetie, i should have asked if you didn't like your traits being touched.i'm sorry"williow sweetly said as june stared at her for a moment. Then she zipped back around hugging her legs leaning her head against it.
"Sorry nice lady"june said sweetly making the women icy heart melt away in an instant.
Diaz sighed in relief"good job sweetie though holly where your little sister and dad?"he asked the teenager named holly wilkins daughter of the councilman.
"Last i saw sinna was in dad study to bother him"holly answered
Though as if on cue someone decided to speak up"oh i'm sorry i was in the middle of a meeting that recently got over. And your little sister was asking if i was ready for dinner"a caine spoke up
But one thing was apparent that he was in a hoverchair despite his early appearance as it hvoered slightly of the ground. It was colored in deep brown colors with orange lining it. On his lap was a little girl
She seemed to be nine year old with light tan skin, light orange ears. Along with warm brown hair styled into a cinamon roll like bun. The girl attire consisted of an orange skirt with a cinnamon colored blouse, her trait was a pair of dingo ears.
"But you said you'd be done an hour ago"sinna said
Caina chuckled setting her down"i know i did, but it seems your friend is here. Why don't you three go off and play"he suggested as she hoped down running over as her, june and wren went off to do that with one person keeping an eye on them.
"Now…you three please be careful you don't wanna break anything"Rad said the only other staff willow kept with her as he made sure they didn't break anything. They all sat down real quick as he lead them off to another room as they took their seats. Willow and aera grabbed a tray of tea setting it out while holly was reading a book silently enjoying herself as diaz made sure to keep an eye on the kids while they spoke.
Their was a shelf close by with several pictures as well of the man and his family. Along with a younger willow schnee and caine wilkins standing in that picture.
Caine took a cup drinking it"i take it your here to check up on your soldiers to make sure their following protocol?"he asked
"We are, the general wanted to make sure your adjusting to everything alright."harriett replied
Willow sighed ringing her fingers for a moment"i am…but…i'm just very worried about my daughter is all. Its a tragedy what happened that night"she sadly replied with an upset look. Aera placed a hand on her.
"I know it is dear but my husband has been trying his best to get the spartans to search for her"aera reassured
Miller sighed taking a sip" look the guys just paranoid with those grimm knights roaming around. Especially that one that was sighted in mantle seriously how did it get through?"he questioned
"I don't know probably smuggled its way in or was already here like we discussed before"elm replied since they've theorized in their small group on how it got into their kingdom. Willow guessed a reason but with that recording of jacque and reo fellow its not enough since he claimed that weiss did it which angered her.
Willow sighed gripping her cup"well i'm still very shocked that devil would say my own daughter…would whip her own brother"She said with malice squeezing the cup threatening to break it. Holly ears perked up scoffing placing her book down.
"Okay for starter i know weiss would never do that. We've known each other for our wholes live and i call..pardon my french"holly said clearing her throat.
"Bullshit"she added
Aera pretneded to gasp"i raised you better than to use such harsh language. Your grounded for life"she said as her eldest rolled her eyes at that declaration.
"Whatever…but i'm just saying the truth"holly said sweetly as they laughed slightly at that.
"I guess you are though if your wondering about the meeting that is classified. Though it seems two of those awful knights of grimm have been spotted in vale"caine mentioned
"If memory serves me right, one of those ones from the fall. And a man with sabyr like features correct?"Elm asked as they nodded
"Well for starters were trying to push it so we can maybe send someone their to deliver some supplies to them. Maybe assist them even"caine replied as they sat in silence for a moment as the kids came running back in. as wren took a spot next to his mother humming slightly while sinna and june ran around with rad failing to stop them.
"Please listen to me dear children"rad begged as they ran by hariett who napped the two by the collar.
"Alright you two relax seriously, if you break anything pretty sure you'll go in time out. You rather not have that alright?"hariett asked as the two nodded as she released them as the two quickly sat down.
Williwo chuckled"it seems your great with kids, though i take it this was a very short visit"she replied as they nodded standing up to make their leave with diaz grabbing june.
"We are but we can stop by with little juney if you want."miller suggested
"That would be lovely . Come by when your available i'll mainly be here busy in meeting or running my business. You know how atlas relays on those food stores"caine said which made hariett think of something. Mainly because of the thing robyn mentioned early how they depsaratly need food and medical suppiles. The ace op thought for a moment to ask.
"Though you know robyn hill right?"hariett suddenly aksed making elm eye her.
"Bree why bring her up all of a sudden? Because the general doesn't want us to get involved with her remember?"elm firmly reminded.
"Oh yes miss hill, that women who is running those homeless shelters in mantle along with the pit. Why?"caine asked curiously as hariett rubbed her arm for a moment regretting to ask this right now.
"Look…this is something that may be a problem in the future. Basically she told us their running low on food and medical suppiles. Most of their staff are sick or over exhausted. But i'm not telling you to–"she was stopped before she finished.
"Well if she needs medical suppiles i can spare a few from my hospitals. I still have ownership of them"williow offered to their surprise.
"Umm we sure thats a smart idea?"miller asked nerovusly
Caine huffed as his chair hovered slightly toward his office"nonsense i can spare a few things. Our relationship with her isn't the best but it smart to improve it. It may prove beneficial in the future i'll see about getting that suppiles tommorrow"caine making hairett feel relived it seems that she helping some people. At one that she didn't fail to save at least, they bidded them their goodbyes as they went their separate ways for the night.
It was a late night right now as harriet decided to crash into her bed that night falling into a deep slumber. Bonnet and elm were back as well as the monkey faunus told them that they returned which was great to hear.
But right now hariett was tossing and turning in her bed right now because she had a strained face it seems. It might be a nightmare but it was more like a memeorie from her past many years ago.
Vale Eight years Ago
It was eight years ago in the kingdom of vale before the events of the fall claimed the city. Though right now inside a armored miltary transport truck was a younger hariett who was on her second year serving with the Ace Ops. As they were doing one thing right now following a lead on some missing atlas researchers.
As front and center was the old sqaud leader of the group before she retired mariana tortuga.
The women outfit consisted a long sleeve atlesian specialist ufnriom that also functions as a sleeveless white double breasted vest with a teal button and dark blue accent. It had red and blue collar, dark blue t-shirt underneath it, along with wearing white skirt that reached the middle of her thighs, but left the sides exposed. While she wore a pair of dark blue compression shorts underneath.
While she sported a pair of long dark blue legging with white lining the middle of it as it reach slightly past her knees. Along with a pair of white fingerless gloves with a rectangular shape in the middle.
While on her back was knight circular shield with a compact assault rifle on her hip held togehter by a harness. The shield though had the imprint of a tortoise shell colored teal.
Their was also a younger clover who was in his usally attie along with elm and vine in the mix. Their was also a younger winter schnee in similar attire she was sporting today. With about ten soldiers who were in specials ops gears. As the women was in the middle of speaking to them.
"Alright listen up! We just got wind of the people who are responsible for those kidnapping cases that have been going around remnant for the past couple years"maraina started getting their attention a little.
Elm was a little nervous raising her hand"umm ma'am how exactly did we get wind of this, not to be rude"she aksed quickly.
Clover chuckled crossing his arms"relax newbie you've been with us a whole year and a half now. Don't worry your filling in your brothers shoes"he reassured making the women feel slightly better it seems.
Mariana sighed rubbing her eyes with a worried look sighing deciding to announce who contacted her about these slavers and kidnappers.
"For starters my wife carmine alcus who went missing about two years ago along with my son and daughter"mariana answered catching hariett offguard hearing that because she recalled her saying how some psycho took her away while she was on a mission.
This got some of them to murmur speculating things for a moment until clover placed his fingers in his mouth before whistling to get them to shut up which they did.
"Settle down and listen to the captain, continue"clover said as she appreciate it.
The next thing she did was pulling her scroll out typing on it for a bit until something played which was her wife voices.
"Please..if your getting this please help. Were…were in some lab in vale its disguised as some old factory in the outskirts of vale. Its deep underground but please send help…arthur took us. I..-"it was stopped as the sound of someone shouting could be heard.
"Put the radio down now!"a male voice shouted as several loud thuds and smashes could be heard. As someone screaming could be heard until a gunshot went off which made hariett flinch hearing that guessing the worse.
Mariaan turned it off with a pale face before finding her composure.
"Were here to search for any trace of survivors in this facility. It was recent which if were in luck they haven't move shop"mairana said
"Are we sure they are still their, it sounds like unofruntaly your wife was–"vine was stopped as mariana growled at his smacking the wall of the truck denting it slightly. The man kept his peace before placing his hand on his knees.
"What exactly is our objective?"winter aksed
"Our objective is simple find any H.V.T in the area. Those being any prisoners they had such as my two kids and wife. Along with her mentor merlot"mariana replied as clover wondered about the person name mentioned on that recording.
"What about watts?"clover questioned before a glare came to the women face who gritted her teeth.
"The general wants him alive, apparently word is he's been experimenting with grimm. So we move in sweep the area and clear out. Got it"mariana ordered as they all nodded in unison. They all began to check their gear for all the proper amount of ammunition needed for this raid. But she was rather nervous right now since it was her first year serving with ace ops. It was a rather big position to fill.
As she sat their pysching herself up she felt someone place a hand on her shoulder making her jump slightly. But it was elm.
"You okay over here bree?"elm aksed concerned.
Hariett sighed"just a little nervous is all…been an entire year serving with this unit. But just a little nervous what were walking into it all."she admitted as clover laughed offering a fist bump as she returned it.
"Don't worry we got luck on our side, this mission will be smooth"clover joked slightly making maraiana roll her eyes.
"Seriously partner? God why do you always have to make such stupid puns about being lucky"mariana asked tapping him on the shoulder as he rubbed it.
"What can i say its my thing but i'm sure your wife is okay"clover reassured her which it did. The truck suddenly stopped as the back door ramp fell down as they all pilled out rushing out toward their target location. That being a derelict looking factory that looked like it was falling apart from the looks of it. While three more trucks where on the scene with several special ops soldier spilling out.
Immedialty mariana signaled them to move forward as they rushed into the factory. While some soldiers were forming a perimeter outside the factory to prevent anyone from escaping. Once inside a special ops soilder felt the ground for a moment as their aura shimmered slightly.
"What do you have?"winter questioned as the soldier stood up nodding.
"Theirs an elavator shaft here about thirty meters down. The switch it over their"the soldier replied pointing toward a pitchfork buried in some hay. Elm walked over moving it forward as it made a loud metal clanking sound. Then the floor beneath them split open like a part of the ground was breaking through.
Once it did it revealed a long elevator shaft as the special ops soldiers began to take out hooks while some placed down spikes. Then looping them around they click them to their waist beginning to repeal down the shaft. While hariett did the same thing as the rest of them did as she took a deep breath.
Alot of them were repealed down the shaft as it was a pretty long way down like the soldier said. But after maybe ten minutes soon a hail of bullets were sprayed at them as several soilders in black unfirom with a crimson talon patch on their uniforms.
But immediately hariett was far enough off the ground unhooking as she rolled onto the ground. Then used her semblance as she sped through about five of the soldiers delvieirng quick jabs launching them into nearby walls or other soldier.
One of them swung at her but she quickly dodged it leaving an electrical trail in her tracks. Then she kicked his knees out as he kneeled down groaning in pain glaring at her.
"You bitc–"he was stopped as she socked him hard against the mouth knocking him down for the count. The rest of the others followed suit as winter placed her sword on the ground as she summoned a glyph. As from it emerged a beowulf bahted in white colors with a glowing blue eyes howling. Then she points her sword foward.
"Sick em"winter coldly ordered as the summoned beowulf began to attack its foes instanly not killing them. But threw them around like rag dolls incaptiaing them enough so they aren't dead. In a quick succession she summoned three blue glyphs launching ice dust at some soldiers frezing them in place as they struggled to break free.
While elm rushed forward tagg teaming with vine as in short time he grabbed a hold of two soldier with his aura hands as he grapsed them smacking them together knocking them out tossing him to the ground. As he then dodged a few slashes from one swinging a tactical sword at him as he cartwheeled backwards.
However before the soldier could react he smacked him away with his aura hand sending him into elm. Who caught the soldier her teammates toosed her slamming them into a ground knocking them out. Then she brought her hammer back as she swung into three of them launching them screaming into a wall as they slumped over.
While mairana was shield bashing one soldier hard making them stumble as she quickly grabbed them by the collar forcing him to face her. While the other soldier began moving in as they regroup pushing into the facility as a loud alarm began to sound off.
"Intruders in secfor F, please evacuate facility and commence clean slate protocol"A metallic female voice said over and over again.
The soldier coughed slightly as mariana grabebd him by the collar"where are your prisoners! Where are they?!"she demanded as the soldier chuckled spitting to the side with a blood mouth.
"Their in sector…B…but their all probably dead already."he taunted making her go wide eyed as clover took the soldier tossing him to the ground placing him in cuffs before planting him on the ground.
"Alright whats your call cap?"clover aksed as mairana composed herself trying not to cry and loose hope it seems.
"We split up schnee, zeki and ebi you go search the facility and clear it out with the soldiers. While we check the holding cells for any survivors capture anyone that may be high value targets"she ordered as they all nodded sprinting as they separated throughout the facility
It wasn't long enough as they soon got into the facility beginning to clear it out. But as they did hariett looked around the place seeing several pieces of advance lab equipment everywhere around the place. But what was troubling was the large amount of grimm cages. But she put that behind her as the soldiers were busy excuting them along with dealing with the soilders.
While they were focused running through the pristine hallways looking for the prisoners in the facility. As they kept fighting soldiers along the way dealing with them instanlty weather that be incpatiaitng them or killing them. While they did a sqaud of soilders where with them as elm glanced at a sign that was above a pair of metal doors that looked heavy duty.
"I think where here sector B was their holding cells correct?"elm asked
"It was someone getting a breaching charge on that thing to blow it open"marian ordered as a soldier stepped foward with a square shapped charge. But then they planted it hard pressing against the door as they flipped a switch as a green light went off.
"Charge is set, get clear of the blast"they warned as they all stacked up near the door. The soldier immedialty blew it open without warning as the doors blew open as they scmrbaled into a long hallway filled with the same type of cell doors. But one of the doors were opened as a soldier were dragging two people.
That being two kids a little boy who seemed nine years old wearing a black t-shirt and green shorts. Along with a little girl who was five years old wearing a teal shirt with black shorts. These were a younger hunter and tella.
The soldier scoffed dragging hunter as he fought back"move it you dam brat or i'll put a bullet in your–"he was stopped mid setence as a yellow blur shot foward shocking him hard sending him flying into a wall. Mariana rushed forward embracing the two with tears.
"Oh my babies your okay…your okay"she cired in joy as hunter cried burying his face into her shoulder sobbing for his mother. They held the embrace but regrettable she let go as the soldier formed a protective perimeter around them.
"VIP secured, we'll protect them ma'am"the soldier replied
Elm glanced in the room for a moment as it was a simple room with a desk and closet along with a queen size bed with white sheets and pillows. Along with cameras in each corner but no sigh of alcus.
"No sign of the doctor where could she be?"elm asked
Mariana looked very worried"i..i don't know but we should ke–"she was stopped before a loud banging sound could be heard stopping them dead in their tracks. Hariett glanced toward the source seeing a heavy duty as grimm-like growls could be heard behind.
Along with red letter painted above it saying"subject omega, extremely dangerous"she read aloud confused
"Why the hell do these room have words on them?"a soldier questioned as each of them had labels on them all being the designations for the knights of grimm. Then mariana radio came to life.
"Tort we got bad news, watts escaped but we just found something very bad"Clover said on the other end
Mariana pressed the button on her radio"how bad are we talking? I just found my kids but no sign of my wife"she replied as he paused for a moment to respond.
"Their are people here that look like grimm, watch out in that sector one of them got left behind. "Clover warned as they all eyed the door with loud banging being heard still. As they stood their the soldier escorted hunter and tella to safety out of harms way. All of them moved forward as it was close to some lap like room as their were three soldiers with them aiming their rifles at the door. Hariett exhaled slowly, preparing herself for what was on the other side. After what felt like etneirty past the doors were smashed opened as they bent outwards as they trained their weapons on what came out.
That being strange looking creature that was standing up, looking to stand at about eight feet tall. It looked muscular in appearance and its body was jet black looking with a mix of dark blue in it. The skin looked to be hard and it had long claws like feet and hands. Its face was creepy because its mouth was human mixed with white teeth like fangs with short wide snot. Along with its face having a grimm mask but looked human it seems with dark blue lines on it instead of red. On its back was some spike protruding out of its spine. Along with a whip-like tail with a jagged bone shard at the end.
"What the hell is that thing?!"a soldier shouted as it roared at them on all fours coming at them. The soldiers began to open fire upon the grimm as they bullet bounced off its thick skin as it roared in pain snarling at them.
Elm ready her hammer rushing forward as mariana provided covering fire to distract this new type of grimm. While she did the creature roared at her in rage but as it got close to the soldiers it grabbed them before tossing them into the walls as they slumped over groaning. While another fired into it side it bashed its head against her causing her to stumble.
Hariet was using her speed trying to find the best opportunity to kill this thing so they can continue looking for the doctor and clear this place out. As she did elm leaped forward smashing her hammer into the grimm side as it cried in pain. Then it snarled at her easily snatching her up as she was caught in its grip. Its jaws began to crack open as it opened it maw with saliva dripping off its fangs.
Elm went wide eyed"can someone help kill this thing before it eats me!"she cried for help as hariet rushed forward punching it in the side as it roared in pain. This caused it to release its hold on elm dropping her to the ground. Then it snarled at hariet as she dodged it large clawed hands as it tried to swing at her. But as she dodged another strike it tail whipped to the ground causing her to trip and tumble on the ground.
The women groaned slightly picking herself up as the creature roared before it snapped it jaws at her head. Her life was about to flash before her eyes until she felt someone shove her out of the way that being mariana. Hariett fell to the ground in complete silence until an ear bleeding scream filled the room.
As in the creature maw was her left arm and leg as she cried in pain. The creature tug hard at her as hairet eyes went wide seeing her mentor about to be eaten by some grimm. She gritted her teeth giving a war cry leaping at the grimm
"Let her go you monster!"she roared socking the grimm hard launching it into a stack of cabinets as it released it maws on mariana arm and leg dropping her to the ground. Elm rushed over as hairett looked to see her missing both her left limps as they oozed blood from her wound as she screamed in pain.
"Dammit someone get a medical unti to sector F we got wounded!"hariett ordered glaring at the creature that picked itself up. But what was weird that it was clawing at it head roaring like it was in pain. But she shifted her feet ready to deliver the killing blow to it. Though as she rushed foward to do it something was shot into the creature as it wobbled for a bit before falling down to the ground with a thud.
"Mariana!"a female voice called out as they looked at the doorway to see carmine their with a dart gun in hand. She rushed over to her wife with tears as four soldiers along with winter stepped inside. They began to immediately treat her wounds as the others slowly got up from their beating.
"Thanks for the assist, and you found the doctor i take it the others are regrouping?'elm asked
"They are but she was very persistent on coming here. Probably for her kids"winter replied.
Though their was that large grimm that layed their motionless as hariett cracked her knuckles to finish it off picking up a shotgun from a soilder racking a shell standing over it.
"Lets kill this thing then we can–"She was stopped as she pressed the trigger but the barrel was pushed up by carmine which confused them.
"What are you doing that thing isn't human we gotta kill it"a soilder said as several of them riased their rifles but she put her arms up like she was protecting it.
"Your not killing a child! That bastard watts did something to him along with the rest of those poor innocent people!"Carmine cried with an upset look making them looked confused. Elm shook her head stepping forward.
"That isn't a child that thing is a–"she stopped as it turned into goo confusing them right now thinking its dead. But carmine knelt down shifting through it like a madwomen as hairett rolled her eyes.
"Doc are you insane the thing is dead so just…"She stopped as her eyes went wide. As the goo molted into dust as carmine was cradling someone in her arms, a nine year old kid with black hair with white frosted tips. With several bruises and looked to be malnutrition. They stood their stunned as the doctor held the child close crying in joy it seems.
"Its okay…at least one of you is safe"carmine cried holding the kid in her arms. As they left the facility as hairet just looked confused at what they found here at this lab.

Hariet woke up in a cold sweat panting for air for a bit as she felt her chest for a moment. But after some time she calmed down relaxing her breathing for a moment sighing in relief feeling herself over as everything was their. Then she glanced out the window seeing it was morning already as she rubbed her head.
"Why the heck did i have a dream about that dumb raid?"she asked herself getting out of bed as she took a quick shower real quick since it was close to her room. It took a bit until she finally got out emerging in casual attire she wore before coming out of it fully clothed as bonnet and elm were already up.
"Morning bunny, how'd you sleep last night?"bonnet asked eating some breakfast already made as hariett took her seat staring at her for a moment.
"I…slept alright…had a weird dream is all"hariet replied eating her breakfast peeking the twos interest a little. Elm drank a cup of coffee for a moment setting her mug down.
"Mind telling us what it was about?"elm aksed as the women stopped mid bit in her breakfast. The ace ops thought about it for a moment shaking her head.
"Nah its fine, but anything new from the general or clove?"hairet asked quickly diverting the topic.
Bonnet sighed"were all required to be at the academy today, you ace operatives and us spartans. Apparently where doing a training exercise today"she answered to her confusion why they need to go their.
"Why do we need to go their?"hariett questioned as the two shrugged their shoulders in unison.
"We really don't know. But we should get going grab our gear then head their"elm stated as she nodded as they quickly finished breakfast leaving with duffles that contained their gear. But that dream she had made her wonder, is she feeling guilt still for not saving that kid.
It seems williow is in better spirits now being kept safe by her old friend councilman wilkins. Along with meeting his wife and daughters who are my own oc's. While it seems jacque made some business dealing with the crimson talon and these knights of grimm. Along with seeing the raid on watts lab and how tortuga lost her arm and leg. Thanks for reading!
