Chapter 31:Workers Union
It was a quiet night in the anima right now as the camp wasn't as busy as most of the guards did their rounds for the night. Though right now no one stirred awake though right now still awake despite the current time was lee who was walking toward the front gate. The tribememebrs just greeted him like usualyl as a couple of those loyal under him followed close behind him. As they soon apporahced a gate.
But one of the tribemembers stopped the three"halt! Where exactly are you three off to at this time of night. Its very late"he asked
"For starters i just want to get some fresh air. Along with that do not know who i am boy"lee asked as the guard got a better look at him in the moonlight.
"Oh um sorry sir. If you want to go for a walk that fine just please be close. Lately someone been reporting those tradiotrs close to the camp"the guard said as he pushed open the gate slightly for them to leave for the night.
The three left the camp walking for a good while because after twenty minutes they arrived in a dense forested part of the area. Once they did waiting for them just like they intended was shay along with vernal by his side with a few of their fellow bandits with them.
Shay had a cigarette in hand taking a puff as it illuminated his face slightly"bout time you showed up lee thought you got caught"he said
Lee chuckled at that"don't worry i have them in the palm of my hand. Rae that softy think that since were old friend that i'm on her side"he said with disgust
"I don't blame you for picking the right side, because were following in my father footsteps. My whore of a adoptive mother agreed to those idiot siblings of mine. I'm lucky odin saved me before I died that day"Vernal replied but they had business to attend to.
"Although i take it you were successful in integrating that dumb hayley girl. Sell her off yet?"lee asked intently, the women planed on it but she might be a useful bargaining chip if their plan will succeed.
"Not yet i want to use her to get that other heiress. I assume that raven has guards on her at all times. Along with that bat faunus following her around."vernal asked
Lee nodded crossing his arms"vern does follow that girl around alot, and vlad is here now. But as of late yesterday synin just returned which means qrow might not be too far behind. If he comes our little rebellion will be gone with all those dam siblings here"lee stated
This was quite a predicament right now as vernal began to pace for a moment trying to come up with a plan at that moment. Though with that daughter of ravens escaping from her clutches it made things very hard since she planned to hold her hostage. If she didn't surrender over the tribe she would execute her on sight proving to her how weak she is.
Though their was alos lately how some of her patrols have been getting attacked by something as they went searching for that girl. But with tarrus and that other girl dead it makes tackling them a little easier as well. Though as she paced around for a bit something came to her.
"Hmmm well from what rumors i heard around mistral. I heard as of late that qrow has been traveling around the place all over. My guess hes looking for something his stupid niece is with him. Along with several others"she started as lee was intrigued
"And let me guess this has to do with the plan you have?"he asked eagerly as she smirked
"Well lets just say that i got something to make her very anger. Along with that tomorrow were going to send a message to her. Call her out for a meet and greet at my camp. Tell her to bring her forces to see who will prevail the old ways or the new ways"she explained her plan as the bandits, shay and lee liked the sound of that. But he had bad news to spill and s
"That sounds like a solid plan but bad news their was a survior in that caravan i told you about. She might be better tomorrow and might give away my identity working with you"lee stated
Vernal scoffed"then their a simple way of fixing this and you know what i mean"she said dragging her finger across her throat as he nodded at that.
"Though it seems that melissa was that grimm knight that resemble a lancer that been buzzing around"lee added to their confusion for a moment as they muttered as vernal herself looked rather puzzled upon hearing that.
Shay laughed at that holding his gut"bullshit that chick was alive…hell I heard from her dumb daughter that she kicked the bucket eight years ago"he replied which caught vernal interest before smirking slightly.
"I assume that her emotions are getting the best of her right now with the lose of her. I'm sure your rather shook up about it"vernal said as the man thought about it nodding rubbing his eyes.
"I hate how were doing things more than anyone here. Although hearing that she was actually alive is quite a shocker. Not to sound weak or anything but…wish i got to see her one last time before she kicked the bucket"he admitted
"Your not wrong like the chick found her very annoying though. Oh well i'll head back to camp to gather the troops. And keep searching for rae dumb daughter"she said walking away from them
Soon the two groups went their separate ways as lee and his two bandits made their way back to camp. But as they were making their way through the camp at that moment the pitter pattered of some feet could be heard.
That being lucy and alshya still awake walking with an awake amara who had a soft look across her face. As it was around ten pm right now, soon the two little faunus noticed lee as both rushed over hugging their little arms around his legs.
"Hi uncle lee"lucy said cutely.
"Yeah uncle!"alasyha cheered as her tail swayed as he quickly put his facade back on. The man picked both faunus up easily placing them on his shoulders at that moment.
"Well it seems that you two are still up. I take it mom number two over here is taking the cats on a walk. Pretty sure thats for dogs"lee smugly said as amara laughed slightly rubbing her eyes as they had some small bags under them right now.
"They just wanted to walk around for a bit. Though i'm sure i'm number one when it comes to be mom isn;t that right"amara sweetly said as he placed both the cat faunus on the ground before sticking close to their mother.
Lee chuckled"seems that they are though…hows lilu you two doing alright after hearing about you know"he said glancing at the two kid as amara looked hurt shaking her head before shushing her daughter to move somewhere else. Lucy and alsyah did as she quickly walked over with an upset look.
"I haven't told them yet….oh abraham will be devastated when he hears he is gone. Lilu isn't taking it alright because she keeps avoiding me along with our daughters sometimes. I don't know why"she said with worry
The man shook his head"probably just grieving right now dear i'm sorry i wasn't fast enough. But you should get some sleep you look like you need it"he said as she thought for a moment nodding before grabbing her daughter retreating to her tent.
Finally alone he quickly made his way through the camp toward one spot as he looked at the medical tent not being that busy right now. As he stepped inside their were several patients fast asleep right now but he soon reached the far back of the clinic where morgan was.
As he stepped inside the women was sound asleep as the heart rate monitor beeped at a steady pace. But soon it might be flatlining as he pulled out his hunting knife as he grabbed a nearby pillow. Then walking over the women as that small noise stirred her awake slightly.
Morgan groaned a little opening her eyes slowly"ughhh my head…where am i?"she asked a she laughed.
"Ntohing much morgan….nice to see you again. But this time your going to stay silent"lee said with a grin as she went wide eyed as her heart rate monitor began to beep several times like she was panicking.
She sat up in pain wincing"gua–"She was stoped as he shoved the pillow over her face pushing her down onto the bed. The women began to thrash trying to break free but he put all his weight into it as he began to slowly suffocate the women slowly as the heart rate monitor began beeping less and less.
After some time he brought his knife out driving it through her throat as she jumped in her bed slightly. Then a gurgling noise could be heard as blood began to stain the sheets beneath her at that very moment. Soon it became stained in crimson red as the heart rate monitor began to flatline as he unplug it. Removing his knife he whiped it down grinning at a job well done for the night returning to his tent.
Though soon it was an early morning over the branwhen camp at that moment. As already up and about in her tent was raven who dressed up for the day. While weiss was in the process of getting dressed for the day. Though joining them today was syinin, mai along with midney, and lastly verona as the six were discussing what they planned to be doing today.
"So since we barely got any leads along with hearing that abraham passed. It might scratched lilu off the suspect list"verona suggested with a notepad of possible suspects on the council along with a few of their captains in the mix.
Mai was sharpening her spear at that moment with a sharpening stone as it sparked slightly as she flicked the tip seeing it was nice and sharp.
"Maybe but…i still cab't believe that meli was alive sis. It kinda hurts hearing that after just getting back yesterday"syinin replied as raven was studying an old family picture with her, synin and qrow with a younger vernal. As the three women had an annoyed qrow in the middle with a bunch of makeup all over his face. Despite her current attitude to thing now she used to love messing with her brother at times. Though hes become rather cynical with that quest looking for summer.
Verona sighed heavily"your not the only one synin seriously it hurts to hear that she was actually alive. I'm curious who else those sickos took for their experiments or whatever"she said in malice as weiss got out stretching slightly as her tail swayed around for a bit.
"I know what you mean i'm still rather shocked to hear these things even exist. Though anyword still on your scouts finding where lazuli and tarrus is?"Weiss asked with hope
Raven glanced at her seeing that hopeful look because it reminded her of ruby in a way. That girl always hoped that one day they would find her mother but they still had no luck even with synin helping on the side sometimes.
"I'm sorry but my scouts coudln't find any trace of them. Only that the tree trunk to the outpost they were at was thrown off the path. Which suggested they took a fall"raven siad but paused at that moment it seems which they noticed.
"Alright rae whats up the only time you have that face is when your thinking of something"synin pointed out as she chucklled.
"Nothing gets past you little sister"she said
"Hey i've known you and big brother for most of my life. I know what makes you tick and think remember"syinin said making weiss eye her down as a possible suspect but from what she heard. For the last few months she been searching around vale for the last month for some reason which intrigued her.
"Yes though sorry to suggest this but you did come at a rather odd time. Where exactly where you?"weiss sudnelly asked which earn her strange looks eepsically from raven
"Ummm what are impylign their ice queen. Are you suggesting that rae and qrow own sister by blood would betray her."verona said almost laughing which she did.
"Yeah because for starters i'm all for with our new way. Although you wouldn't happen to be apart of my niece team right?"synin asked trying to divert the topic but weiss persisted.
"I can ask that after you ask my question. "Weiss stated firmly tapping her foot at that moment which raven found funny because it reminded her about that cold sister of the girl. She only ran into her a few times in the past. Making sure the coast was clear raven then sat on the bed crossing her arms and placing a leg over.
"If you may know i sent my sister back to vale to check up on my husband. "Raven started which made sense
"Oh right your boytoy. Seriously i sometimes can't believe you fell for a guy like that. Because you know whats funny"Verona said with a teasing look as raven kept her stoic look with annoyance now.
"What would that be auntie?"mai asked cheekly.
Verona laughed covering her mouth"that from what qrow told me you were a fumbling mess when you asked that blonde guy out. Stuttering with your words…your always so stoic"verona teased earning some laughs but the women kept an annoyed look keeping her stoic nature.
Weiss found it a little funny because she does look like a statue at times but she was curious what else she was doing in vale. Because last time she heard that where miyuki was their possible winter maiden.
"Alright what else because i just want some answers"weiss asked as syinin sighed rubbing her temple.
"Look i've been looking for haru other little friend. That pearson girl though from what i gathered i checked up on that village she was at"synin begun whichs sounded like great news right now.
"Really? Thats great then we can grab her after we head off to havan. Then its an easy street from here on out"midney said since she was a trusted friend of raven and her family as well. The entire group in here knew about the maidens since raven trusted all of them since she knew them for most of their lives.
Though synin looked rather hesitant on what to say next which they all noticed immediately.
"Let me guess she wasn't even their?"weiss questioned regrettable as the girl nodded which just ruined the mood immediately.
"Yep. i checked that entire village for her but talked to that mayor their. Her father or whatever said she didn't come back with a few others from their village since they were in vale during the vytal festival. My guess is she either been kidnapped or…well….you know dead"she said with a somber tone as raven internally thought about that being a new problem. Even with haru and her current condition. That would mean the witch might have two maidens now.
"Thank you for the intel but we should be getting a game plan. Once were done here we'll take your friends ship as close as we can to mistral. Then hopefully qrow and the others will be here soon or already went to havan"raven said stepping outside but synin looked at her confused right now.
"Umm what do you mean sis can't you just portal to our brother or niece."synin stated as they were still rather confused why she still hasn't done that yet.
"She right rae because you keep being vague on him coming here. Communications may be down but we can still help him and the people with him get here fast. You good?"verona asked placing a hand on her shoulder as raven gently removed it glancing at them.
"I'm quite alright just a little tired is all. Along with everything that been happening i'm sure qrow wouldn't mind spending time with ruby. He looked after her sometimes in summer stead"she said leaving the tent as they followed.
Though as they ddi verona eyed her down guessing that why she hasn;t done it. Letting qrow spend quality time with his actually daughter which she wouldn't mind doing right now actually. But as they got outside it seemed everything was in chaos right now as several people where crowded around the medical tent at that moment.
"Alright that isn't weird. What with everyone crowidng the medical tent did we get a bunch of injuried or something?"midney asked
"I don't know but i don't like the look of this"weiss said as they walked over toward the crowd pushing through enough to get through. Once they finally got through dravan along with falk with charlie was their. As the three were staring into one room right now with qusitonable looks.
Dravan noticed them sighing walking over holding his wife with his one good arm.
"Hello dear i take it your wondering why were having a little party over here in the medical tent right now"he asked
"Thats perscisly why were here let me guess something bad happened?"syinin asked as they pointed to inside the room that being morgan. They all glanced inside to see her face covered by a pillow covered in red with some of being white still. Along with a giant hole in her throat with her body sprawled out slightly as her right wrist hung off the side of the bed.
Charlie was examining her as raven for one found this rather annoying because it seems their spy decided to get rid of morgan to keep their identity safe. The women sighed rubbing her forehead as weiss gagged slightly from the smell again.
"Okay seriously i'm never going to get used to this i think"Weiss said in disgust as her tail swayed.
"You will eventually but it seems last night someone snuck into the tent. Then killed her in her sleep she has a throat lacatiosn and slash marks on her neck might be her cause of death. But the pillow atop of her was probably used to muffle her from calling out from help"charile explinaed
Falk tapped his chin leaning forward slightly"yeah though this is just weird. Because now we don't even know who that spy is. Along with that we still gotta rescue princess ice queen along with whoever else their holding hostage"he said very annoyed at this but was still very worried about where lazuli was right now.
"Your not wrong i'm very worried about her too. But what are we going to do now because we have no clues pointing to who did it"midney asked though as they stood their for a moment an idea came to weiss mind. Their might be clues at the outpost that was attack maybe even finding the indidty of the spy.
"Maybe we should head to the outpost that was attacked. Maybe their we can find some clues."weiss suggested
Raven turned to her"we've already search their along with that the valley below where the stream ends is dangerous. Because grimm usualyl lurk in those part of the woods and it would take a while to get back up here"she stated
"Well we got no other option sis. Beside it'll be fine if you want i can go with them keep an eye on them. Then we'll be back before you know it"syinin offered as raven eyed her younger sister down for a moment relenting because right now these past few days have been quite troublesome.
"Aright fine just be quick about it before they spot you rather not have another person get taken by them"raven ordered as synin and weiss headed off. Along with falk and midney joining the two just incase as dravan eyed the group down with worry hoping that the same fate doesn't happen to that girl like his niece.
"Okay if their doing that i'm going to check up on my kids. Since harus been bed ridden the daycare been in chaos without her"mai said walking to do that for the day as raven groaned rubbing her head. Verona noticed her troubled look.
"I take it your worried that things are becoming alot more tougher to handle since verns betrayal"verona asked as she nodded
"Slightly but right now i want to find this spy. Because when i find them they'll be punished several for betraying our tribe and killing our own people. For now we figure out and come up with an attack plan for findign vernals base"raven said as the jackal and bat nodded following her to her tent to discuss that. While close by lee watched them leave with a wicked grin that everything might be going according to plan.
Although over at the bandit camp right now slowly stirring awake at that moment was eria who opened her teal colored eyes. But as she did she felt something soft under her head before groaning waking up. Because her body feels very sore from the last two days of sleeping on the hard ground and how've they've been treating her.
These bandits have no sense of respect dragging her around the place and roughing her up. She guessed the others aren't having much luck either though soon she glanced up seeing her head resting on eria lap. This confused her heavily.
"Why the heck am i on her lap?"she thought to herself moving away from her immediately. Though noticed bashira and tock were still passed out on the ground as she quickly recalled yesterday. That being her fear of the dark taking over which embarrassed her right now.
"Oh great i was probably crying all last night. Maybe thats why i was on her stupid lap in the first place"eira said to herself
After a bit of time soon enough the other were waking up slowly as bashira sat up yawning as she rubbed her eyes to get the sleep out. As tock got up messing with the muzzle around her face for a bit in annoyance.
Lastly emerald woke up rolling her shoulders until they popped which statisfied her greatly.
"Morning everyone you ready to be stuck here another day in this crap hole"bashira sarcastically siad
"Nope because i'm getting very sick of eating whatever that weird grul their feeding us is"emerald said shivering as she had a very sour taste in her mouth.
Eria huffed"well i'm just waiting for when the other arrive. Maybe lazuli, weiss, falk and heck even tarrus got lucky and warned the others."she said which caught their attention hearing one name being mentioned.
"Wait are you saying adam tarrus. The leader of the white fang is here in the anima and hes roaming free?"tock asked very shocked right now hearing that.
Bashira blinked for a moment growling"that just great we have a terrorist leader roaming these neck of the woods. Bad enough we got bandits and those thirteen knights of grimm roaming around"She said which made eria shoot her an icy glare because she was wrong.
"You miscounted"she codly warned to the girl annoyance.
"No i didn't because for starters that leader of yours was one of those freaks."bashria retorted making eria glare at her with anger clenching her fist tight at that moment. Emerald noticed it guessing she still rather hurt about his death along with her new role in their team as their leader.
Emerald decided to desclate this"bash remember how rogue acted when you called her partner that. Because seriously you keep mis counting"she warned but she stayed firm with her belief.
"Hey i'm not going to baby her. Seriously that thing is freaky because at least two of them are gone now. Which means only eleven are left"bashira said as eria growled before grabbed a nearby rock throwing it very hard at bashira head as she glared at her as it left a small bruise on her forehead.
"Stop calling my leader that…i already have to take up the slack for our team. But…but..i..i…"eria couldn't form words as tear began to well up in her eyes as she just let them slip away. She began to weep for a moment making them feel awkward as bashira quickly realzied she might be pretty hurt about taking the reigns of being team leader which is a tough role to fill she knows from experience.
Emerald sighed walking over sitting next to her patting her back as eria shuffled away from her balling up with her one leg for a moment.
"Come on princess, look i know your mad at me and merc. But…look if its means anything i'm sorry. "She apologized lying through her teeth as eria sniffed looking up slightly with a glare at bashira.
"I don't care….at least she has all her teammates. No one keeps making fun of your family for who their team associated themselves with. For all i know i don't even know if my sister is alive or even my partner. The white fang might have attacked her and blake"she said with choking on a couple words peeking emerald interest hearing those two were alive which sounded great hearing right now.
Eria was letting her emotions control her for a moment at that very second because she hasn't been sleeping great in the last week. Everysince yesterday when she was expose to her fear she was losing it, she can't fill the shoes as team leaders
Eria sniffed trying to whip the tears away"I can't even fill the r-role as team leader…i thought i could. But all i've done is crash in the stupid anima..find my uncle whos alive. And i hoped my sister would be coming…but now she might be actually dead."eria finished ugly crying right now burying her face into her one knee. This felt very awkward right now as tock sighed walking over pulling her into her shoulder.
"Cry into someone shoulder kid, don't really know what you've been going through. But i'm sure wherever your sister is she okay"tock reassured
Emerald nodded"i'm sure she is heck qrow with them which should mean something. Because his team was the best back in the day. Heck maybe their already at havan waiting for us. Whenever we get rescued we could just portal on over their"She said which eria seemed slightly reassured about.
But as she sat their sniffling for a bit soon a certain thought crossed her mind which just upsetted her immenosuly.
"Oh great…i forgot what today is"she said with an upset tone.
Bashria chuckled"oh let me guess its your parents anniversary or something. Maybe when you two got accepted into beacon"she said but it was the opposite because it was something her and rogue shared.
"No…it…it would be my birthday today…and its the first time i'm spending it without my sister"eria cried catching them offguard hearing that as bashria regretted asking. Emerald felt hurt hearing that because it seemed that girl might be going through the same thing. She just hoped that mercury is consoling that girlfriend of his right now on her special day.
As they sat in silence for a moment soon they were released form their cells at that moment with eria leg being returned. Some bandits guided them out as they quickly had their meal today in silence that time. Though as they were moving through the camp this time eria noticed something.
That being that zaff man hugging someone right now as he had his hands wrapped in white tape. But he was hugging someone.
A little boy who seemed to be around nine year old with tan skin along with short black hair cut short. As he wore a simliar type of outfit to the large man but had cyan colored pants along with a dark grey sash around his shoulder. But watching him right now was shay as she wondered what he was doing.
Though soon enough they were guided past them as zaff was joining their group it seems. As they kept going toward the entrance of the cave in the side of the mountain right now. Once inside she was met by a horrible sight.
Several people around the place with pickaxes and shovels scooping up dust also them filling mine carts. What hurt worse seeing people that varied from faunus and human. Along with alot of being people in tattered clothing with some being men, women, eldery and their were even a few young kids in the mix.
"This is terrible…this feels like one of those mines that slavers would use"erias sorrowfully said
Emerald sighed"i know right because this is were we've been working for the last week and a half. Guess your joining us"she said as they soon reached a table as a bandit was handing out some pickaxes along with some shovel.
The women glanced up from her clipboard"alright you five must be here for your work today. Your going to take tunnel fifteen, your tasked to gather the ore down their"she said as they all grabbed their pickaxes as it felt rather heavy. But she found this strange because they could use their semblance to escape anytime but judging by some people here with bruises they might have no aura at all or are low on it.
"Okay but what if we–"eria was stopped before a bandit shoved her slightly as she stumbled.
"Enough question now hold still for your uniform"he said before reaching down pulling something up that being an SDC collar. It surprised her they had those.
Before she knew it two bandits held her in place as the first snapped the collar around her neck making sure its nice and secure their. It felt strange even having this on as she wonder how terrible this was for faunus and others who experience this. The process was repeated with the other four as the bandit guided them to their tunnel.
It was a deep tunnel sort of but the guard soon stopped shifting his rifle to his one hand.
"Alright you five your to gather some ore by the end of the hour i want this minecart filled by the time i get back. If its not then you won't be having dinner tonight"he said walking off as if immeidlty they began to get to work.
It was a rather tiresome task as she never sued a pickaxe or object this size before but she began to chip away at the rock and stone to dig through the sedimament for their goal. While they did emerald got to work as well along with bashria and tock. While zaff seemed to have a rather easier time.
The hours began to chip away for them what felt like minutes as bashira removed her jacket to make work easier which showed off her toned arms. While for emerald she was panting a little right now from all the work they've been doing right now. As eria was getting rather tired herself wiping her sweat covered brow.
"Okay…is it me or is this very exhausting?"eria asked panting a little.
"Your telling me….you try working in a muzzle i can hardly breath in this thing"tock said which made her curious why did she have a muzzle.
"Wait i never really asked why are you even wearing a muzzle?"eria questioned as the faunus then pointed to whats beneath it a set of metal teeth with screws drilled in holding it in place.
"This is why I got a set of metal chompers and they didn't use it early. Well lets just say i tore one of these jerks fingers off as they taunted me"tock said grinning under her muzzle creeping eria out slightly. Bashria kept chipping away at the rock as she found something resembling some ores depsoiting it into the nearby mine cart.
"Yeah well…i never thought to ask to pass the time while we work. Why do you have metal teeth lose em in an acidnet.?"bashira asked as tock thought for a moment still swinging her pickaxe into the rock hard as her arms felt rather sore.
The faunus sighed heavily"eh back when i was a kid i got in an ancidnet making me lose most of my teeth. Doctors replaced them with a set of prosthetics to help me chew my food properly. Though it does have its downside having to clean them out once a year at a local porhsetics shop."tock said
Emerald huffed swinging her pickaxe again before goraning sweating heavily"arlight…this is so exhausting but seriously."she stopped before eyeing them for a moment then zaff who wasn't having a tough time at all dealing with the stone. As eria noitced her glancing at him guessing she has a plan.
"Ummm excuse me sir"eria softly called out as he turned to face her immediately intimidating her on his sheer size. Though once he spoke it was surprising.
"Yes young lady how may i help you? Do you need help with some of your work i could help fill the quote for you"zaff kindly asked surprising her how gently the man seemed despite his giant size. The heiress thought on her answer.
"Well i was wondering….why are you even agreeing to fight for these bandits"she softly asked as the gentl giant closed his eyes continuing with his work.
"They have my son, i'm doing what i must to protect my child. And if i keep doing their fights for another few weeks that women agreed to let me go. To see my wife since we were traveling to see an old friend of mine in mistral"Zaff simply explained but this tock laugh at him which he turned slightly toward her.
"Is something funny miss?"he asked rather annoyed
Tock blinked for a moment"oh nothing much just that i don't know you sure they'd honor that deal"she stated making him hesitated to answer as they figured out what she might be doing right now.
"She right seriously these guys are bandits. You really think these crooks would honor their words. Look i'm sure you'd like nothing more than to punch these guys"bashira said making a punching motion. Zaff sighed as their mine cart was full for the day signaling the end of their work as he began the task of pushing it.
"That may be true but my son would be put in danger"he argued though qucikyl eria came up with a hairbrain scheme just like her leader.
"Well what if we figured out a way to cause a mass prison break here. Distract the guards secure your son because you seem to have an influence here with your reputation"eria asked as the large man turned to her with slightly wide eyes contemplating on what to say to her before giving her an answer.
"If you can safely secure my son whenever that would be greatly appreciated. Though that is a daunting task. Something very hard to accomplish"zaff said as they began to follow him out of the mine but they looked at eria like she was crazy right now.
"Alright how are we even going to get his son out of harms way? Their are like a gazillion bandits here and were in their camp"tock reminded that their outnumbered. Bashira tapped her chin for a moment snapping her fingers.
"Their might be away although we should discuss this later and fianlize it"bashira suggested as they nodded in agreement because they'll try to cause some panic in this camp. Maybe even free themselves from the clutches of vernal and her bandits right now.
But deeper in the woods right now with yang and company they were walking through the woods climbing up some ledges and cliffs from the natural parts of the land. As this morning they had to wait for a good while until the wendigo left them alone. They buried roxy giving her a decent burial the best they could.
Though along the way saxon didn't even seem bothered by it walking ahead of them as jay was now on his feet. But rather sluggish as his gut wound healed but still needed some rest. As adam carried him on his back at that moment.
"Alright so where are we going next because i'm getting rather sick of this rich snob"lazuli said annoyed
Bert scoffed"you aint the only one kid that guys been a pain in my ass everysince he moved his way into our escape plan. He almost ruined it even whining in the middle of us sneaking out which he did get us caught"he growled as lazuli wondered how bad this guy was to be such a snob. Because she seems like she heard that last name before but can't quite place it.
Yang groaned"well at least we still have our prisoner here because we should be good once we climb this hill"she said gesutirng toward their current path as she hoped up a ledge then took jay helping him up as he winced slightly.
"Come on blondie…i get it your pissed at the guy but…uh…"he tried to defend the bull but couldn't come up with anything. The blonde rolled her eyes because she really doens't trust him for whats he done to her partner and girlfriend. Blake might wanna kill him next time she see him which she hopes she doens't do because she'll just become what he is.
Adam dipped his head for a moment"she has a right to depsie me right now i don't blame her. Although i would like to try to make amends"he said peeking her interest slightly.
"Oh really and how would you let me do that. Let me break your arm or punch you in the jaw"yang replied as he recalled what he heard from raven with a talk with her how she was a fan of boxing which he found slightly funny.
"How about a boxing match after we;ve settled everything. My father actually used to be a boxer back in the day before we….were sent to altas"adam said
Lazuli scratched her head"oh right you mentioned that. And i totally forgot you fangirled over my auntie"she cooed making the blonde go flush slightly with an embarrassed look beginning to twirl her hair as jay was laughing at her slightly. She just likes the sport since her dad like it and she got her into it at a young age.
"Oh man forgot shes a super fan. Hey you know whats funny i think auntie told me she used to wanna be one"jay teased making yang go flush before jabbing him in the shoulder as he groaned rubbing his sore arm now.
"Shut up…alright i like boxing though…"she stopped before offeirng a hand to adam who looked at it shaking it sealing their pact.
"I'll take you up on it though. Lazuli whats with the dyed part of your hair"yang said gesturing to the dark blue and red streak in her white hair. The thief looked down for a moment rubbing her arm for a moment because it was to honor and remember someone.
"Well the blue streak represents my cousin i lost and the red…represents my dad"lazuli somebrly answered as a wave of grief came over her. All the thoughts about her family right now along with her aunt family suffering. Her sister proberly devastasted and she not their for her but hearing her brother in vauco. Probably staying one of her dad friends…its hurt that she not their for them.
Adam noticed her trouble look deciding to help her"look its honorbale thats your doing that for them. They both may be gone but if you keep their memories with you always they won't be with that remember the good times you made together. It'll make it easier"he wisley said as she smiled needing to hear that right now.
"Thanks bullboy i'm gonna go catch up with the snob to see what hes up to"lazuli said picking up pace as he admired her from a distance as yang eyed him for a moment then her as she had a conclusion.
"Oh..oh my god you like her"yang said pointing at him as he turned away to avoid their gazes.
"No i don't i just admire how determined she is for her family despite not being blood related. Its good that she someone that cares for her"adam replied hiding an obvious blush as jay chuckled slightly
"Keep telling yourself that man though i hope my moms and dad are okay. Along with my little sister"he said as they kept walking for a bit until eventually they caught up with lazuli and saxon. Though they were met by the man looting something right now that being a dead bodie backpack along with a few more bodies close by.
"So their are a bunch of dead bodies here just great. Seriously we keep running into them"Yang joked annoyed
"Yeah might be vernals guys…maybe the Wendigo came through here?"bert suggested
"Maybe though why is that thing after you even?"lazuli questioned as they looked at Yang as saxon was searching through a pack eyeing the blonde down. This made her think trying to guess why but guess one thing.
"We'll mom and uncle did fight that thing a long time ago. Maybes it got a grudge against her and since I'm her daughter by blood. "Yang stated as she snapped her fingers
"Maybe it wants to kill me to get to her. Maybe that why it's after us"she added as saxon laughed for a moment before stnaidng up
"Then we just need to offer you to it then we all can live"saxon said evily pointing a gun directly at Yang head as it seemed the man was showing his true colors now. Which might spell trouble for them.
Seems that eria is still dealing with the guilt of taking the role as her team leader. While it also seems that raven is starting to suepct her old friend of being the spy. But seems yang is in trouble now with saxon wanting her to be their scrafiece. Thanks for reading!
