Chapter 33:Parent Found
Rogue could barely what time it was today right now as she layed on the small mattresses provided in the cell. They came by early dropping it off but made her stand against the wall. Once they left she just layed on the makeshift bedding signing wondering what they'll do to her. It feels like she been here for days but luckily theirs a clock in the room. It told her its only been a day which made her annoyed.
She kept herself busy coming up with possible ideas and upgrades for all her friends for fun. Along with how she was going to confront her partner next time she see him. Hearing him alive today was refreshing to hear. But she was also trying to come up with a device to teach him a lesson. She though of making a chair that could spin him around until he pukes. It might be funny but knowing him he'll come up with something to say he's sorry.
This made her wonder how her sister might react to hearing him alive. She might be mad at him or cry her eyes out and get all emotional. While for onxyia that girl might be happy hes back, but probably mad since she doens't like people messing with her emotions.
Though she just tried to get some sleep to pass the time though as she closed her eyes. A few minutes went by before she heard whimpering close by. The blonde sat up looking toward the source she didn't have nightvision but she knew it was casta.
Rogue got up as she tapped on the glass cell to get her attention"hey everything alright over their?"rogue questioned not getting a response from her.
"Are you okay over their? Say something"rogue asked again as she got a response but it was just casta laughing to herself like a madwomen it seems.
"Uhh whats so funny?"rogue nerovusly asked as the girl was starting to creep her out. Their was barely any light in the room but it illuminated casta slightly. She slowly stood up as she cocked her head toward her.
Rogue could see an eerie grin as a pair of crimson red eyes could be seen in the darkness"your corpse when brother omicron is done using you"casta replied in a sickening voice.
"What?"rogue asked before casta lunged at the glass wall separating them causing rogue to back up against the opsite wall panting scared. Casta was clawing at the glass wall with wild eyes as she screeched a little. Then she saw her flying around in her cell clinging to the walls all wild like.
"What the heck is up with this girl?"rogue thought to herself if shes gone crazy.
After a few minutes of this soon enough casta was back on the ground but she held her head shaking it.
"Get out…get out my head…shut up…shut the hell up!"casta screamed in rage as she walked over and began to pound her head against the cell bars. This shocked rogue as she sat in silence as she banged her head a few goods times against it. Until eventually she seemed to knock herself out as she fell on her side as her back faced her.
Rogue just sat their for a bit a little scared from what just happened. Maybe she should try to get some sleep, though as she layed back down. She looked at casta back seeing something moving underneath her shirt. Along with some glowing eyes on her back that were crimson red as hissing could be heard. She just turned to her side hoping she wasn't seeing things.
Returning to the mayor house was rather quiet one as none of them spoke of the actions that had happened their at the camp but now that only confirmed to them how bad the twon is in. something that qrow was deep in thought about in his thoughts.
Ten minutes later they were all at the mayor house as they gathered in the living room. Percy was their as frankie went back to check on their troops but it was rahter silent. Ruy was outside getting some air after seeing what happened to beth.
Though the silence was deafening as nora was the one to finally break the ice of the silence.
"So..does anyone wanna address what we just saw or are we gonna ignore it"nora finally said as she sat close to ren for comfort.
"I guess…their not denying. Seeing their base and what their doing to those poor people is troubling. It seems that their planning something their but what. Though them saying the beginning of a new era is coming soon for the grimm hybrids. But with another pillar falling down soon guess the attack on havan academy is ahppening"qrow stated
"which means their probably targeting them next."graz replied
"Though what did they mean by low down crooks of mistral and faunus allies?"jaune questioned
Ren thought for a moment before recallign a specific gang they saw during the fall.
"Wait could they be working with the knuckledusters. Isn't that group who is run by that assassin couple. "Ren asked as mercury nodded
"Seems so which means they got four armies with them it seems"he stated

"He isn't lying when they brought beth and her son into the camp to feed them to the grimm. He was crying"ren replied
Percy only coffeed at that"bull crap he did because all he done now for the past few months is tear our town apart. I was particularly best friend with the guy since he came to live here. "I thought he would protect our town with those other huntsman we had here. But no one day those thugs show up we turn them away. After that they started to teorrize our town while he stood by and watched"percy continued as he had tears forming.
"That bastard can burn in hell if he strting to fell regret now"percy finished as some tears fell on his lap. Graz placed a hand on his shoulder consoling him. Though qrow had a reason why he was doing. He walked over as he pulled the picture they grabbed early showing him it.
Percy eyed it confused for a second rubbing his eyes"why do you have a pic with him and mags?"percy asked
"Because that's the reason he working for them"jaune replied as the mining supervisor got what they meant. That his best friend was doing it because they had his girl held hostage. Percy just buried his hands into his face.

"It seems so but from what you told us how you saw another grimm knight that makes four now. How are we gonna deal with them that place is heavily fortified. Even with our spy we don't stand a chance"poppy said as they tried to ponder an idea.
Though an idea struck a chord with jaune as he smiled which didn't go unnotice by them.
"Why are you smiling?"ren questioned as jaune just walked over to the map they had of the mine.
"Well i just came up with an idea tomorrow eli can take a couple of us in to sneak around the place. Also i'm guessing your guys have made dust bombs?"jaune asked percy who finally composed himself.
"Yeah a few of my guys are experts in demolitions. We were planning on blowing the front gate but with those turrets we'd get torn to shreds"percy replied
"Extactly if we try a full on assault it'll be a bloodbath. Though you and maybe barrys family knows the mine. Their has to a backdoor to the place they haven't used yet. "Jaune replied as the mining supervisor thought for a moment before going wide eyed. Then he walked over to the map looking at it pointing at a specific spot.
"Right here theirs an entrance that leads into the mine right here. It got closed down because of some grimm their before they came. It leads straight into the main area of the mine."percy said as jaune continued his plan.
"That will work tomorrow we can have maybe send two of us to infiltrate the camp. Along with maybe seeing if we can find rogue their in the cages. Then we prepare tomorrow, because the day after that we lay siege to their base. We'll use the explosives if they didn't find them as a distraction. Then we send in a small group to sneak inside to rescue anyone deeper in the mine."jaune finished as they stood their for a bit because that sounded like a solid plan.
"Thats…thats actually not half bad kid. Guess you were the right pick for your team leader"qrow complimented making jaune smile.
But something crossed poppy mind real quick on why the blonde girl was kidnapped.
"Oaky i'm just going to say this you do know your friend rogue has been declared missing for about three weeks right?"poppy asked as qrow raised an eyebrow at that along with ren and nora.
"What are you talking about?"ren asked
"Yeah what do you mean by that? She told her parents and sister about the trip and they were fine with it"nora said but mercury looked at jaune which qrow immdiealty noticed.
He narrowed his gaze at the two"you four lied, i knew something was up when that girl said jaki was fine with her coming their. He'd never risk his kids going out to get themselves killed like that."qrow said as he walked over getting in jaune face.
"She ran away from home didn't she?"qrow finished as jaune looked away nodding. This just shocked a few of them at this.
"Wait so she ran away from home? "Nora questioned
"Her sister is missing her leg, she should be their after they lost their after the friend we lost"ren added in slight anger but graz said something troubling.
"Actually about a couple weeks ago the schnee heiress along with the other hayley heiress were kidnapped."graz said as the five looked at them shocked.
"What?!"the four beacon said in unison at hearing their friends have been kidnapped.
"Are you kidding me? Who the heck would kidnap them?"jaune questioned
"Maybe the same reason your friend was kidnapped…those sister were on a team with that grimm hybrid called omega correct?"graz asked as they nodded
"They were but you don't think our friend is alive his death was confirmed during the fall"mercury replied though qrow cupped his chin recalling what sleket said at the bar.
"He'll be happy to see you"sleket words echoed in his head as he concldued something.
"What if your friend didn't die..but faked his death to go into hiding. Hes praticually wanted by all of remnant right now. "Qrow replied
"Maybe that could be a possibility"mercury said with hope as the other hoped that was true.
"Well his uncle was roman torchwich"nora casually said as they looked at her.
"So…you were friend with someone connected to several illegal activities across remnant. I knew you shouldn't have become a huntsman."poppy said annoyed because she was right.
Jaune just chuckled at that" the guy wasn't actually so bad if you got to know him. He actually provided those reinforcement for the city remember. Plus he adopted a bunch of orphans who had nowhere to go. "Jaune said as he messed with the sash on his waist.
"Sometimes not everyone can be saint sometimes you gotta be a sinner to do some good"jaune stocily said
"Where did you get that from the internet?"percy asked as jaune shook his head.
"Nah just something i picked up from a friend. Though we should head to bed for the night. "Jaune said as they agreed on that. But as they did qrow looked outside to see ruby sitting on the swing upset. He decided to go check on her to se how shes doing.
Once outside he looked at his actually daughter clutching a photo in her hands. He walked over as he just took a spot next to her on the swing. The night sky was out as a cold wind blew through. They sat in silence for a bit before he broke it.
"Hey kiddio. You okay out here?"qrow asked
Ruby didn't respond for a minute as she just looked at the photo in hand as the moment past as she had a small tear well up. Then ruby spoke up.
"Oh uh…h-hey uncle….i'm fine"ruby replied choking a sob back but he soften his gaze wrapping an arm around her pulling her into a side embrace.
"From how i'm seeing it your not…your upset we couldn't save that women and her son. Aren't you?"he asked kwnoingly as ruby just nodded
"I…i..we could have saved them if we just got their sooner they could be still alive. Its..its our job as huntsman to protect everyone…no matter what. But..i couldn't even save my friends…at the tower where ozpins office was…i saw pyrrha and bonnie up their..but i didn't make it on time. "Ruby begun as she had more tears well up as she clutched the photo
"I wasn't fast enough…the last thing i saw…was pyrrha go over the side. I told jaune that we were going to save them but…i couldn't even do that. If only i was faster i could have helped them both. Then…we could have saved tanner..before tyrian killed him. After that…we..we could have saved zane. "Ruby coninuted as some tears started to slowly escape.
"Rogue gone now…and she might be dead for all we know. Yang…i don't even know if shes okay…i overheard you guys saying weiss got kidnapped. And..and blake could be dead for all i know…i might lose more of my friends"ruby finished as tears began to break
Qrow father instinct kicked in as he just pulled her into a gently embrace rubbing her back.
"Look kiddio…no one could've predicted what happened. It was completely out of the blue and we werne't prepared. The friends you lost…i'm sure they were the best people around. They knew the risk for what they wre getting themselves into."qrow replied
"I'm sure your sister is alright out their probably met up with sis soon. Along with that once we get to havan we can head down to kuchiskae or windpath. If that ice queen been kidnapped she might be their. And…menagerie is close we can see if your other teammates alive as well. "Qrow said as he turned her to face him as he saw tears streaming down her face. He just used his sleeve to whip some away.
"Just keep looking toward the positive kiddio…don't lost that hope"qrow finished as they stood their for a bit before ruby lunged toward him hugging him tight. He returned the embrace smiling.
"Thanks uncle..i'm heading to bed tonight. "Ruby thanked as she walked inside as she left qrow their by himself. Then he reached down opening his leg comaprament pulling out the picture with him summer and her.
As he sat their looking at he could feel a presenance behind him. He knew who it was.
"So big sis finally gonna come ask me about who i am to my niece?"qrow asked as poppy stood next to but not before motioning for him to follow her. He did as they walked a decent away from the house.
"That exactly my reason because in reality…your her father arent you?"poppy asked as qrow looked down nodding.
"I am…bet your guessing why i told her i'm her uncle?"he asked as he leaned against a tree as the moonlight bathed them in its elgnant light.
Poppy nodded as she messed with her ring finger"a little i've noticed how you turn away from her when she calls you uncle. Why hide that from your daughter?"poppy asked

Back in the day i could barely control it causing accidents every dam day. Back then when me and her mother summer had her…i got worried."qrow begun as he clenched his fist tight.
"I got worried that my bad luck might bring more harm than good. Our team was like one big happy family since me and sis were on a team. But i made them keep a lie for almost eighteen years from them. Because i was too scared to tell my little girl i was her dad"qrow continued as he rubbed his eyes as a small tear escaped.
"I..i couldn't risk her getting hurt because of her and her moms eyes. Wanna know why we bought those contact lens?"qrow asked
"Let me guess your talking about the silver eyes warriors?"poppy asked to qrow shock she knew of them.
"How'd you know about them?"qrow asked as poppy chuckled.
"I kinda found some fire spirit emerge from a glove, someone named ember hayley. Which was strange but i asked her about your group and she let it slipp that you need to protect her at all cost. How those grimm knights hunt anyone down with those eyes"popy answered

"My little summer went missing after encountering the most vile thing in all of remnant. All we found was her arm…been looking for my wife to bring her back to our little girl"qrow replied

Morning came quickly over the mining town as the others were already awake eating breakfast for the day. They were quickly discussing their plans for today.
"Okay so some of you need to meet percy at his hideout to grab the gear needed to infiltrate the place. While the rest of you have trip into town."graz stated
"Why do we need to head into town?"nora questioned

"Eh they could be but are you serious?"mercury asked with a smile
"Yeah some women visit our town every year visiting the clinic here to check on her prothsetic arm she has. I wonder why this kid looked familiar a carbon copy of that women"poppy said trying to get ruby off her as she hugged the women leg as if her life depdned on it.
Ruby had tears escaping again with a small smile as jaune smiled at that. She did use torchwich offer to try and find her but came up with nothing. He hoped they found something good from it.
"Okay if you guys are doing that who going to the mine?"ren asked
"Well percy sent me a text this morning saying one uniform is taken. But two of you should go frankie will meet you at the entrance to the forest to guide you their. Then you meet with eli and plant the surprises we have for them."graz answered
"Sounds like a plan okay we split up, i'll go to the camp who coming with?"merucyr asked as nora volunteered to their surprise.
"Why do you wanna go nora?"ren asked
"Yeah because you aint exactly the best at stealth"jaune added
Nora tapped her finger nerovusly together"i…i wanna make sure you guys come back okay…if things go south. You'll need someone providing you smokescreens to make an escape"nora said which surrpsied them how she suggested that.
"Okay that will work…nice thinking gingy"mercuyr complimented as nora smiled at that. They soon finished breakfast as they split off to complete their task.
In the town immeidlty heading to the drugstore was ruby and her group. The silver eyes huntresses was zooming over their as the others ran after her.
"Jeez she must be pretty psyched up to see if her moms alive?"poppy said
"Why wouldn't she, she been missing for most of her life"jaune replied as they ran after her.
Qrow laughed"yeah…if my leader is alive don't be surrpsie to see this grizzled huntsman cry his eyes out."qrow warned as they continued to chase ruby. Thought intisde the infirmary right now erin was sweeping the floors of the shop humming to herself. The last couple days have been somewhat peaceful it seems.
"Hmm i wonder if those huntsman are still in town?"erin thought as if right on cue the bell rung as a flurry of red rose petal swarmed around the place to her shock. She raised her broom to defend herself to the attacker.
"Ah! Dad we got a robber i think!"erin replied as footsteps could be herd rushing downstairs as reed looked at the strange sight of red rose petals.
"What in the name of remnant is going on down here?"Reed qeustioned though the others soon emerged from the door panting since they chased ruby across town particularly. The four looked as ruby swirled around before reappearing shaking doctor reed.
"Have you seen a women in a white cloak?!"ruby shouted as she shook the doctor violently. Qrow along with poppy walked over removing her from him as the man tried to get the dizziness away. Erin helped sit him down as he saw pill bottles spinning around his but came back to his senses.
"Okay pleasure to meet you young lady too"reed said as he looked seeing some familiar faces.
"Can you all explain to us what this young girl wants?"reed added
"Well for one reed, you recall how that mysterious women that visit your shop to get her arm repaired right?"poppy asked
Erin nodded"oh you mean that women name rosa petals? Why she hasn't visit when was it…fours months ago"she replied as this just made qrow and ruby go wide eyed. The tribe leader stepped forward placing a hand on reed shoulder.
"Sir do you have any video evidence or security footage of her. "Qrow asked as this made reed suspicious of them.
"I'm sorry but i can't give patients private information away to any–"reed begun but ruby said something upsetting.
"Please. She…she could be my mom i haven't seen here in years. I was told she died…i wanna see…if its her?"ruby begged with the puppy dog eyes as tears threatened to break. This seemed to break the two pharmacy owners as the doctor sighed nodding.
"Come with me up stairs…though can some of you clean up down here please?"reed asked as the store was in a state of disarray from ruby little tumble fest. Jaune, ren along with erin decided to clean up as the others went upstairs. Once upsitars they sat on some chairs as reed search through some old security tapes.
The doctor looked through some tapes dated back four months ago as he passed by several reisdnets names on them. He mainly kept them incase they robbed him.
"Can we uh please hurry up"Ruby said as she kept moving around in her seat in anticiaptation
"I'm with her we're kinda in a hurry trying to save your town"qrow added in excitement it seems
Reed chuckled"you two seem very impatient, though I understand if she been missing that long."reed relief as he scanned a tape saying"rosa petals"z
He grabbed it as he loaded it into the projector"here we are miss. Petals"reed added as he pressed play on the video. They waited for what seemed like minutes, hours even until it finally started
The video came to life to show the room they were currently in. Two people were in the video that being reed and someone who made qrow go wide in shock and joy.
On the bed sitting down without her arm was summer rose. The women he's been searching for so long and he just found out she's alive.
"It her"qrow said as tears began to smile
Ruby just looked in awe right now seeing her mother their. Someone she barely recalls anything about but had a feeling it was her.
"That's..that's my mom?"ruby asked as qrow nodded smiling at her which made her smile
In the video reed was just finishing up with a checkup for summer. Their was a case that contained her prosthetic arm it seems.
Reed wrote on a clipboard"alright miss. Petals that should do it for your maintenance check. Though the circuits that connect to your nerves were shot. What happened?"he asked in the video
Summer sighed as she gripped the bed sheet tight"I…I ran into some strange grimm is all."she replied looking down
"Oh what type of grimm we have most catalog in our library. If it's a new species we should warn the huntsman or branwhen tribe"he replied
They watched as summer went wide eyed at that name, qrow could tell she was upset. But wondered what's she been doing all this time on the run. He guessed shes been on the run because of that witch that control the grimm.
Summer chucked slightly"you wouldn't believe me if I tell you"she replied as reed recalled what he said as he mouthed it
"Try me I work with treating disease, along with preparing bodies for proper burials for their loved one."reed replied as they laughed a little at his joke. But what summer said just worried qrow.
"If I tell you a women who had wyvern wings and a man with bewolf features attack me. Would you call me crazy?"summer asked as this just scared qrow even more. That those grimm knights are hunting his love down and daughter.
"Wait the one from the fall…he attacked mom?"ruby questiond scared
"Seems so, though she's still their so she's still alive somwhere"poppy reassured
In the video reed didn't believe her but handed her a recipe for her repairs. She handed him a lien card as she opened the case gabbing her prothestic arm. The women placed it on as it snapped into place she began to make her leave until reed said something stopping her in her tracks.
"Miss, petals how is your family last I recall you said your daughter was training to become a huntress"he asked as they saw summer grip her arm tight trying to fight tears it seems.
"She..she is…I hope she's doing okay I'm sure she'll be a fine huntresses someday. I just hope her and my dusty qrow don't hate me for my long trips"summer said which made Ruby go wide eyed at that. She looked toward her so called uncle who just had a thousand yard stare.
How her mother phrased that it sounded like her and him were in love. Ruby just glared at him with tears slipping onto her cheeks.
"Why did she call you that?"Ruby said in a Demanding tone
Qrow avoided her gaze gulping nervously"look kiddo..I'll explain later let's just go check on the oth—"he begun but she stopped him
"No! Why did she call you that? Because how she phrased it sounded like you two were actually in love. Are…are you not my uncle?"Ruby asked feeling betrayed right now being lied to.
Qrow just sighed whipping the tears away"I…I can explain later okay just calm down"qrow suggested trying to place a hand on her shoulder but she threw it off.
She had tears streaming down her face with a look of betrayal from what her family hidden from her.
"You lied to me…for all my life…how could you do that?!"Ruby cried as her silver eyes flashed slightly illuminating the room slightly. This worried qrow that she might lost control and succumb to the other power of those eyes. Before anyone could say anythingsomething crashed downstairs. Immedialty they rushed downstairs to see if something happened. But Ruby right now widely hurt right now her family kept this secret from her
Earlier before this happened deep in the woods, frankie lead through the forest to an open field which confused the two. Because they said they were leading them to their base not an open field.
"Uhh so where is your base?"merucyr asked as nora zipped around looking for it lifting up some small rocks, looking behind trees and bushes.
"Yeah, is it invisible? Is that why they haven't found you guys yet?"nora questioned still looking around as frankie chuckled at that.
"Not exactly watch this"frankie said as he kenlt down pressing firmly on it as a click could be heard. The grass started to move to the tow surprise as it revealed a secret passageway leading underground. He motioned for them to follow him which they did.
After a bit of walking they came to a metal door as frankie did the same knocks like he did last time. The metal slit open as the guard nodded to them, then they closed it as the unlocking of a door could be heard.
"Guess these two are those guest you meniotned come on in"the guard said as they followed frankie into the place. While they walked in the two were surprised to see alot of people down here.
All of them were hard at work preparing for their coming attack it seems. They saw people training with their weapons they had in a makeshift sparring ring. Along with some doing repairs and maintenance on weapons.
"Whoa this place is impressive how'd you find this place?"mercury asked whistling impressed by the sight.
"This place used to be an old strom shelter when we have tornados or grimm attacks. Its well hidden, but surprisingly we haven't been found."frankie replied which made them confused why he mentioned that.

"Because for one asher knows about this place but he hasn't told them"he answered which was surprising that he didn't rat the town out. Maybe he isn't all that bad afterall. They soon arrived where percy was along with someone else with him. That being pollax to their surprise.

Pollax smirked"hey nice to see you again, guess this is the friend you guys mentioned. "Pollax replied but percy stepped up smiling as he placed a hand on her shoulder.
"And for why she here, is because she knows the layout of the mines. "Percy answered but it was confusing because he was the mining supervisor for the place.
"But aren't you the mining supervisor for the mine here?"mercury questioned
"He is but my dad shown me and my sis the mine so many times we know it like the back of our hand. But enough of that we got a job to do"pollax said as a miner came over placing a sack on the table. Percy walked over grabbing it contents to reveal what it was, C4.
"Whoa thats C4, how'd you get your hands on that?"mercury asked as nora scratched her head at the weird object.
"Uhh whats that?"nora asked
"Remote explosives mainly made with molding clay, timers, gunpowder you name it. Were going to use these to dismantle that camp. The blast radius is small but its got a hell of a kick to it"percy explained
"Okay but where should we place them?"nora questioned as percy continued
"You'll be placing them on their watchtowers near the front gate. Destroying one of them should do it, but you'll need to place one on their munitions and fuel storage. After that a couple of those armored trucks they have"percy explained
"I want you and pollax to meet eli get the uniforms she promised. Then sneak into camp leave our little surprise for them. And hope they don't find them, if we attack now they might torch the town or kill their captives"percy warned as they noded
"Got it be careful, play soldier to sneak into the camp. Then plant explosives on their munitions, fuel storage, watcher towers and cars."merucyr said as they nodded
"Alright be careful and make sure to watch each others back"he said as the three headed out as they only had one thing to do is to meet with eli and hope she isn't playing them. They put their plan into motion and now needed to wait for it success and hopes things go their way this time without much trouble.
Seems that qrow couldn't hide the fact from his actually daugther anymore because he might need to tell her the truth about her parentage. But i wonder what will happen their? Thanks for reading!
