Chapter 40::to Vale

In ironwood office right now along with mactviash the two military leaders where in an eerie silence with one person right now. That being robyn hill who stared the two men down with an annoyed look. Because the general informed the marshal about yesterdays incident.

As they sat in silence a clock ticked away by every second as their was a tray or water their. But robyn didn't trust it one bit right now, because she knows how atlas roles. They might have drugged it so they can lock her up to not spill their secrets.

Soon enough mactivash cleared his throat"i take it you have intel on one of these thirteen knights of grimm?"he asked taking a sip of some water.

Robyn hummed slightly"maybe i do, still…very strange how one of them came by my shelter alright. That kid on the news…care to explain"she said getting straight to the point.

Ironwood placed a hand on his pistol just incase but robyn noitced this aimming her wrist mounted crossbow drieclty at mactavish who wasn't phazed by her threat it seems.

"I wouldn't do that jimmy"robyn warned making him growl by that name because he hated it

"Well i'm sorry but like i told you yesterday that boy was adopted by her family. We never expected him to be some adomination."ironwood argued

Mactvaish nodded"yes but please tell us more about this one you've seen kidnapping people. If you do we can put it down for good like the beast it is"he added

The women weighed her options because for starters she knows a lier when she sees one. And the general has it all over her face as she decided to do it, as she offered her hand to him.

"How about we shake on it?"robyn asked as the two stared at her hand like she was offering a bomb to them. As they sat in another silence ironwood knew what her semblance to detect if someone is lieing or if their telling the truth.

"I'm fine thank you, because i know that hand of yours all too well"ironwood stated

But to his surprise mactvaish took it surprising her even that he would even take her hand. The marshal stared her dead in the eyes right now waitng for her question.

"Ask away hill because whatever is said here…can never leave the room. I know you want answers to these kidnapping were all for it but only if you swear it never leaves this room"mactvaish firmly stated

"Sir if i may this is a terrible idea, she'll probably use this against us in the fu–"he was stopped as he put a hand up.

"Alright are you lying about that kid being adopted by carmine and tortuga? "Robyn questioned

But she developed medicine for him to keep it under check, someone used mind control on him during the vytal festival"mactviash asked as robyn hand shimmered for a moment surprisingly turning green. "So your telling the truth alright…but why are people being taken?"she asked another question

"How about answer one of ours before we answer one of yours. Did you actually see a person resembling a teryx?"ironwood deswayed as she thought about that it only seemed fair.

"Fine. on patrol some of my workers spotted some blur run by a week ago. May can back it up because she told me she saw some guy resembling a teryx. Kept spouting nonsense how he'll take us all to appease his queen. Guy…took a few teens and even kids"robyn said as she felt the marshal hand tighten slightly hearing that.

"Thats troubling to hear, but for your previous question from what we gathered. Apparently their being used to create more of them"marshal said as her hand turned green but this made her go wide eyed undoing her grasp on him

"Are you serious?! Why hasn't your military done anything to stop that from happening?!"robyn questioned in anger. Ironwood put his hands up to calm her down.

"We've been trying to do that for the past eight years. Everysince carmine was rescue she told us of these kidnappers that use people for experimentation. "Ironwood explained before making the door was lock putting her on edge pulling out a sword from her crossbow at the ready just incase.

"At ease miss hill, were making sure no spys are listening. Because for starters…we've sent word to other councils about this. "Mactvaish said

"Then why haven't you told the people of atlas, mantle everyone in remnant?"robyn questioned as ironwood dropped the harsh truth.

"If we do that it'll lead to mass panic right now. With the events of the fall if they hear that people are being turned into these things. They'll start suepcts neighbors,friends, familys….daughters even"he said hitting a spot for her right now as she stared him down at the mention of fiona.

Robyn stood their for a moment hearing those words because she wants the people to know about the truth. But with current events like this their right it could cause panic everywhere bringing more grimm to the city. She sheathed her sword and had her weapon on standby mode

"Yes they are rather intimidating. But not like my husband from the valkyries like my husband shu"sora boasted which made a nearby soldier speak up that being sarah from the training course who still had her face covered up.

"Hmm thats strange i think she upstairs calling someone, i'll fetch her"aera said walking upstairs with skyler deciding to join her. But early upstairs willow was in a room with klein as the two were looking over one thing. Willow stared in shock right now at yuri megumi biologically father being her ex husband. Klein was their writing a letter down it seems finishing it off.

"I finished off the letter for the detectives miss schnee, though are you doing alright?"klein aksed

"Well hello sweetie, their no need to be scared of me i won't hurt you"sora said sweetly but june ears flopped over in fear burying her face behind her father legs.

"I'm terrible sorry, shes a rather shy at her age…umm she used to be a.."he tired to say but she understood.

"You don't need to continue though, i'm sure a huntsman saved her dropping you into your care"sora said making him smile slightly because she was half right. Then as willow came down with the others they joined them sitting down, then june rushed over to her hugging her which they found funny.

Holly laughed a little"oh man that funny, it took her a whole five months to even let me come near her"she said

Joanna sighed"it is though…you miltary grunts gonna keep staring us down or what?"she asked with malice toward all the soldiers in the room. Sarah stepped foward.

"Sorry ma'am but were providing a protection detail on the councilman and since she visiting. Surprising to see the captain boytoy here…thank god he isn't here"sarah said in relief as joanna groaned a little at that.

"Oh i remember this, you found an adorable little baby left in the cold. Then you took her in saying she isn't your daughter…but you treat her like yours"diaz teased making joanna glared at him to back off. Skyler noticed this rolling her eyes"oh shes just laughing about something that we noticed. Though if your wondering about my little brother hes alright."she said taking a sip of her drink for a moment.

Klein chuckled himself"ah yes her, a strange girl indeed though if i recall isn't she grieving right now"he asked to the others confusion slightly. Sora sighed before pulling out her purse rummaging through it for a bit retreiivng something a picture. Her son gave her it when he arrived in atlas to visit at that time she hasn't really looked at it much.

"Why bring that all of a sudden right now?"holly asked intrigued slightly.

"Its nothing that poor girl just lost her father during the day the fall happened. Along with that she lost a cousin of hers during it as well."Sora replied sadly hoping that girl was okay.

Willow noticed her upset look"dear it'll be alright, i'm sure hes helping her with her grief. But probably trying to put the moves on my daughter"she said teasingly as aera blinked hearing that for a moment. Holly sat their for a moment until it clicked with her until she began to laugh at that.

"Wait…wait….she actually got a guy into her? I thought she had suitors lining up from all the way to vacuo"holly asked still laughing at hearing this. Aera laughed herself at this as sora gave a small chuckle carassing the picture.

"Oh you have no idea, seriously my little brother was very vague until we ran into and her kids at the zoo. The two were all flustered around each other"skyler said to more of their amuzemnet.

Even he wilkins family was avoiding her gaze right now which willow noticed confusing her wondering if they knew of this mysterious huntsman.

"Caine why do you look upset? Did you know them as well?"williow asked concerned

Caine ears twitched around nerovusly"let just say we did, but it quite a sensittive topic right now"he answered as the soldier were eyeing each other which skyler noitced confusing her even more. But as this happened june was curious since diaz placed the picture on the table.

Sora noticed her picking it up"oh sweetie please be careful with that my son only had one copy"She warned but june tail wagged because she saw one person's face in it.

"Uncle zane ''june suddenly cheered joyfully earning a very strange look from willow, sklyer and sora. Diaz quickly pulled her back as the coyote still held the picture in her hands confused right now.

"Dear how exactly do you know that boy? Because that boy is the one who started the fall of beacon, "Skyler questioned hesitantly, making Sarah glare at her which she noticed.

"Why are you glaring at me?"she asked looking at her as sarah quickly turned away trying to keep face.

Although in harriet apartment right now it was a rather strange scene right now. As all of the ace ops where their along with miller and bonnet for some reason. Along with mariana as carmine was busy preparing for their leave for vale tonight. As they sat in silence harriett made sure all the doors were locked and for good measure

Harietted stood up covering her face pacing now because she couldn't stop it was already too late, if she gets court marshaled or locked up she doesn't care.

'I know i did but…when i was sent to menagerie. All i could think about was making sure he didn't loose control or turn into some grimm"hareitt begun her explaitnaion trying to calm down taking a quivered breath.

"But i saw him finally reunite with his family. You weren;t their…that women looked like she found a piece of herself she lost. And he finally did"she continued as they sat in silence listening as marian felt upset hearing her say this right now, wondering how this will end up.

Hariett soon paced infront of clover before starting him dead in the eyes with tears running down her face as he kept a blank expression.

"I didn't want some kid to be experimented on again. That…p-psycho already did it to several people over the years. We shouldn't be disrpecting someone corpse…he deserved a proper buriel…that.."she choked slightly before clearing her throat to gain her composure.

"Litenaut bree your under arrest. The reason of your arrest is for disobeying direct orders from the chain of command. You will be brought before a jury of your peers"clover said as he was moving her forward to leave the apartment and take her to jail

But marrow growled standing up pointing at him"stay!"he shouted acitviang his semblance freezing him in place.

Mariana crossed her legs"kid you got a lot of nerve to do that, the general won't be happy with hat your doing"she warned extensivly to the two. Marrow kept pointing at clover before getting infront of him tearing hariett pushing to to the side unfreezing him but he grabbed him by the collar.

"Soilder remove you–"he was stopped

"Shut up! Seriously i understand we need to orders but what type of orders tells us to bring back some kids corpse!?"marrow said as his tail thrashed around.

"She right we had orders to keep an eye on the subject and–"vine was completely stop by him as well.

Marrow got infront of all of them seething in rage right now they seriously think those orders were ethical.

"Amin settle down now, maybe the general will be liented on you two"elm commented

"Oh really? Because seriously your forgetting that we praticualry helped raise the kid. Seriously just another mission? Keep telling yourself that because i know for a fact you three didn't like those orders just like anyone else"marrow said pointing at the remaining ace ops. Surpsignly elm avoided his gaze rubbing the back of her neck as vine closed his eyes. While clover collapsed his hands listening.

"Hare was right….seriously what gives us the right to deny someone a proper burial. To dissect them like some sort of guinea pig, that kid already went through that at the age of nine years old. Seriously i find it hard believe you didn't think of that kid like he was apart of our squad even"marrow continued

Elm rubbed her face"you may be right about that, but that still doesn't excuse what you too did"she reminded as he stared her down recalling something.

"Oh really? You were happy when that kid asked you to teach him how to patch up wounds. Saying it was fun teaching someone your skills."marrow countered as she looked away nodding at that then he turned toward vine who simply stared at him.

"He asked for your dumb wisdom since your a dam scholar on most subjects. You may think what you were doing was just orders….but i remember seeing you actually smiling one time. "He reminded as the monk didn't answer but nodded

Then he got to the last person being his team leader as he stared clover down" You literally taught him how to make stupid puns. And you enjoyed it that someone laughed at your dumb luck pun. I know your our sqaud leader but seriously ask yourself…did you really wanna see that kid experimented on again."marrow said before presenting his own wrist to be cuffed.

"Or are you gonna actually admit that sometimes stupid orders need to be broken"marrow finished as they sat in complete silent taking his words in for a moment. Clover stared him down as he thought long and hard about decision because soon it came. He got up and uncuffed harriett pocketing them to their surprise.

"Clove what are you doing partner?"mariana aksed kwnoignly.

Clover reached for his earpiece"patch me through to the general please"he suddenly said to their surprise as they sat in silence until someone talk to him.

"Sir, you asked me who i was sending to vale for escorting the doctor. I planned to go myself but…"he paused looking at them for a moment smirking.

She refused immedialty but got beaten for it but she didn't care it made her wonder something. Did her friend back in beacon go through the same thing, which she didn't like to think about.

But she was alone queity crying to herself right now"I just want to see my friends and family…i just wann go home"pyrrha cried as she sat their in silence until the door to the room opened startling her. She looked up seeing those two cloaked figures from yesterday..

I rather not see another person be turned into a monster"she demanded as pyrrha took their words in for a moment cutsiouly getting up. As she approached the exit to the cell she could hear loud sirens making her ears ring in pain slightly. But they kept saying one thing.

"Secruity breach in sector D5, subjects epsilon and uplision have regained control. Insurgents spotted in prisoner ward"a female mechanical voice said as pyrrha could hear gunfire in the hall. Glancing close by it revealed angie along with several other crimson talon soldiers but all in winter gear now.

As angie was wearing a pair of maroon pants with a black turtleneck, with a thick dark blue coat. The women was shooting at some soilders down the hall with her assault rifle. She switched target killing on by shotting him in the head. Then she glanced at them,

"Oh you got the kid good, we got ten minutes before dorian gets down here"angie said reloading a new clip.

The man groaned holding his head for a moment"how far are we from the escape pods?"he asked as they joined her as one of the traditors in their group got shot dead. Angie sighed glancing down the hall seeing a sign telling her it was close.

"Its down the hall on the right..but we got a mess load of bodies in between us. Could you two maybe clear em?"angie aksed with concern. The man held his head feeling something digging into his skull right now letting out a grimm like snarl.

Dracona placed a hand on him"are you sure you can do this friend? I still have my…s-syringe"she said offering him a syringe as pyrrha noticed it was the one that zane used to control his semblance.

The man panted"it'll be fine….though…miss nikos…tell li ren and nora valkyrie…t-that i miss them deeply"he suddenly said to her shock before she could question him he threw his cloak to the winds to reveal his grimm appearance.

It revealed a man with ghost white skin that looked bleached along with that he had a black wrap over his eyes obesrucirng them, while his hair was seafoam green. But his body looked strange as on his arms were a pair of cnetineals that seemed fuzed to his skin as they hissed and snapped their jaws. Along with his throat glowing green underneath his skin like something was he wore a jet black kasaya robe with red lining it showing off his athletic appearance. The man growled dashing down the halls as the soldier wre focusing fire on him.

"Crap…crap! Kill him already someone get omicron do–"she was stooped as the man snatched her up snapping her neck in an instant making pyrrha sick to her stomach. Then he began to slaughter his way through the guards as he stabbed one with his cnetinal on his arm as they tore him to pieces as he screamed in agony. While one tried to stab him with a stun baton to sedate him. But he dodged it quickly as he palm striked them in the throat then reeled his fist back punching him clean in the throat knocking him to the ground.

Then the man reeled back, hocking building something up as he spit from his mouth. But what came out was a green liquid covering three soldier but their skin began to hiss and burn as they screamed in agony. Dracona grabbed pyrrha by the arm dragging her along with angie following them. As the soldier bones were melted into their felsh as they fell down dead to the ground. But as they ran down the halls several screams could be heard as she heard someone crie out.

"Gah! You pathetic vermin! You'll pay for helping that brat escape our queens cluthces. Starting with these traditors!"the man voice could be heard as she regrettable looked back to see him now attacking the people who were helping her escape.

"Don't look back….they wanted to save one…inncoent person…they died on their own terms."Dracona said struggling to speak.

They kept running down the hall for about ten minutes until they reached a room with cirucalr looking hatches into the wall. Angie walked over typing into a keypad as it opened then she looked at the two.

"Okay hope in kid were getting out of here"angie ordered

"But…but what about you….someone could save you….because you must be like zane"pyrrha said making dracona chuckle hearing that name before pushing her into the pod with angie. It was simply with some seats and a pilot seat as angie got in it switching it on to make their escape.

Dracona then looked at the syringe tossing it into the pod"kid…i aint like that…brat…i used to watch…but him…aarne and diego are at peace i heard. I at least saved one person before they became a monster. Get out of here"dracona said before slamming a button on the door closing them to pyrrha shock. Then angie pressed some buttons as the pod came to life as it shot out of a tunnel toward her freedom. While this happened dracona soon cried in pain holding her head as behind her was dorian with the cnetinel knight back under his control.

"For shame epsilon, you let your host gain control now we lost a new grimm knight. And they might know where we are"reo spat reaching for his radio but dorian stopped him.

"Let them go reo, they won't last a week out their. Those escape pods only have enough fuel to get a safe distance away. Even if they survive it'll be a miracle"dorian said as soon dracona demnor change as she roared in rage.

"I can't believe my dam host got in control….i'm terrible sorry brother. That traditrious soldier used some sort of drugs on us…which made us go asleep"dracona said growling as her cloaked bulged as something thrashed beneath it.

"Then we should research that, now come we still have the other subjects but we will let the queen know when havan is dealt with. If were lucky we will succeed their"dorian said as they walked off but in the disntacne the escape pod shot away as pyrrha for one felt free right now but wondered something that one of her friends were actually dead. She just cried right now that she was free but also lost a dear friend wondering how jaune is doing right now.

It seems pyrrha has been freed from her jailers from those horrors in that lab but heartbroken to hear who died that day during the fall. While hariett admitted about disobeying orders though the ace ops seem alot closer to each other compared to the main cannon. Though once their in vale their in for a surprise. Thanks for reading!
