Chapter 42:Slain
After finding the bandit camp early oscar was now back on ferris as they were traveling a trail that cut through the woods. He was still looking for any sigh of the branwhen camp to warn them of this threat along with seeking raven branwhen help, from what ozpin told him.
Though right now he was very nervous since he travel about a couple hours away from the bandit camp but it wasn't exactly helping his nerves right now. Which wasn't helping with the worry of bandits being in the area that might take him which ozpin noticed.
"Oscar you need to relax right now i understand your afraid of the bandits that we just saw"ozpin stated
"How can i not be worried? Because were near a large bandit camp right now and i'm really hoping we don't run into anymore out here"oscar replied aloud with worry right now because he might have some combat epxeirnce but its not the best.
Ozpin groaned inside his head"i know, but if you let your worries consume you it'll make you an easier target. Never let anything worry you let all your worries go right now. Because the sooner you do the easier things will become"he wisley advised
The farmboy thought for a moment inhaling slowly then exhaling slowly to calm his nerves as he could feel his pulse race slightly. But he soon got it under control. He held the horses reigns tight just incase as they steadily walked along the trail. As they did for a bit he came onto something sickening.
Their were a few dead bodies on the ground along with a nearby deer caracas close by. But it was torn to shreds right now along with fly buzzing around it right now. He gagged from the smell of the corpses and the aweful sight as he upchucked to the side of the horse for a bit. Until it finally settled.
"Ughhh what happened here? Did a grimm do these because….what grimm can tear someone in half that quickly"oscar said looking toward a women who was torn in half with very cold looking skin as even from this far ozpin deduced something.
"They have been dead for a few days at most, but jduging by those claw marks along with the feet prints"ozpin said since close by on the ground where some strange looking claw marked footprints that looked oddly human shaped. Then he knew what their dealing with.
"It seems we may be in the wendigos terrority"ozpin announced in his head scaring him because he heard of that grimm.
"Wait…that grimm thats been rumored to be alive for hundreds of year? Do…do you think its out here?"oscar asked reaching for his weapon but ozpin decided to quell his worries again.
"It might be but judging by how it behaves it usually only stays around corpse its killed for a day at least. Though its tricky if you hear anyone calling out for help in these woods be weary of them. Head down the path on the left"ozpin ordered as he moved the reigns taking the path on the left to get away from this awful sight.
Once they got far enough from the massccre it was maybe another ten minutes passed by as he decided to ask him something since ozpin talked about one of his many lives. He wanted to pass the time.
"So uh if you don't mind me asking could you tell me one of your other renicarnations to pass the time?"oscar asked neorovusly as ozpin simple chuckled in his head.
"Why of course lets see how about i explain one of my few female lives. That being oza a hunter for artifacts who stopped in atlas"ozpin said deciding to divulge another grand tale for the young farmhand. But with this ancestor of someone he once knew might be someone he once fell for and now is gone.
Many years ago atlas.
It was many years ago before atlas had its mighty floating city in the skies as its capital was like most other cities. But it was soon starting to slowly become modern at times as their was a city similar to mantle but with a few more upper class style building. Though right now wandering the streets was a specific women a faunus in fact.
That being a women with fair skin along with having a well developed hourglass frame to her. Her eyes were green along with white hair that long reaching her with that she wore a simple black skirt that reached her knees as she wore some tan winter boots on her feets. Her overshirt consisted of a dark green jacket over a dark grey long sleeve shirt.
As she had a large pack on her back with a familiar cane strapped to her side. For her other weapon it was a pair of dual pistols currently holstered. But atop her head were a pair of arctic fox ears as this was oza one of ozpin few female lives.
But she was busy right now looking for one thing that being artifiacts along with a place to relax right now. Because she been traveling for at least a week to get here.
"Okay i need to search for that fabled artifact what was it called again"oza said to herself beginning to dig through a journal until finding what she was looking for.
"Here we are the the guardians scarf. Fabled to be a scarf that is able to grant the wearier increased aura from their normal aura capacity. Last seen in atlas owned by a wealthy family that.."she stopped mid sentence as her stomach rumbled loudly as she held it for a moment.
That was an issue she was starting to scan the place for anywehrre to eat until finding something a small little club that had lavender flower hanging above the front entrance. That seemed like a friendly place since their was a sigh that welcomed faunus. Oza walked inside relived from the cold weather of atlas though once inside she noticed the club.
It was a simple club with a stage along with a few tables that had some patrons their along with a bar. Once she got seated she waited for someone to come by with something as soon a waitress came by.
"Hello deary how can i serve you today?"she sweetly asked as the fox thought for a moment nodding.
"I'd like some steak along with some eggs if you can please. Along with some fruit"oza asked as the waitress soon brought it back as she began to dig into her meal overjoyed at eating this. As she did soon a show was starting to play as she was near the front stage.
"Hello everyone! And welcome to the siren tonight we have our wonderful signer of the night performing for you tonight! Please welcome ophelia yoder!"the owner shouted in joy as a women stepped onto the stage.
That being a women who appears to be in her late twneites with pale skin along with having light purple colored eyes. As she had light purple hair styled into a bun as she wore quite a revealing dress that was dark purple sleeveless along with presenting a bit of clevage. Though she wore a pair of green gloves along with a pair of purple heels.
Though she started to clear her throat until beginning to hum a simply tune through the club right now. Until she started to sing her song.
"Begin again in the night"

As she started to sing her song it picked up the fox ears right now since it sounded beautiful like an angel was singing at that moment as her eyes were drawn toward the stage enamroed.

The women kept singing until after a while her tune stopped as the crowd clapped for the women. After that she started to walk off stage though oza eyed her for a bit until ophelia eyed her as well making the women jump continuing her meal. Though what she didn't expect was that women saw her.
About maybe an hour later oza was looking through her journals on any possible artifacts that may assist her right now. Though as she was soon approached by someone.
"Heyya sugar this seat taken?"opehlia spoke up startling oza for a moment as she dropped her journal to the ground.
"Oh um…no i was just leaving miss…sorry if a filthy faunus like myself is taking your seat"oza said about to leave but ophelia stop her guiding her to sit back down.
"Come on doll i aint like most people who treat your people like animals. Seriously they need to learn some respect for your people. Your just like everyone else except with a few more extra pairs"She said before placing a hand on her cheek.
"Along with a set of cute ears"she added teasingly making the fox blush slightly before clearing her throat as ophelia picked up the journal skimming through it.
"Take it your in our kingdom looking for these rumored treasured i guess?"ophella as the fox eyed her for a bit sighing.
"Yes mainly looking for the guardians scarf it was rumored to be here last. But over the years its been unknown i've hunted down most artifacts to keep them out of the wrong hands"oza explained smartly as ophelia chuckled.
"Every hear of the fairy harp?"opehlia asked peeking the fox interest.
"Actually…no i haven't let me guess its some stupid musical instrument. Sometimes i don't understand the benefits of singing or playing music"oza said bluntly as this reincarnation of ozpin was very blunt at times. Ophelia chuckled at that crossing her arms presenting her bust slightly.
"Girly theirs alot more to music than just playings. Theirs a beauty to it, it can reresnet many things like a song dedicated to someone. Weather they be a friend, brother, sister, mother, father or lover. It can even be used during war to boast people moral when times get tough"opehlia said before offering her a hand to her confusion as she slowly took it.
"Names ophelia and i think i know where that scarf your looking for is. Along with this harp which is rumored to enchant those with its music"opehlia offered as oza chuckled slightly.
"Well i'm oza its nice to meet you, once were done here maybe you could show me the benefits of playing an instrument"oza said as the women nodded at that. This soon began a lifelong friend that soon developed into a romance.
Present.
As ozpin was finishing his grand tale of his one female life oscar was a little amazed hearing that. He does know a bit about playing an instrument now it seems though hearing he was a faunus even surprised him.
"That was interesting…guessing next time you might tell me more about your lives?"oscar asked
"I might but we need to focus find somewhere safe along with restocking on supplies soon. Because we might need to find raven very soon"ozpin said with haste as he continued on his way to find the camp. Wondering what will happen when he reaches that place and hopes hes get their on time.
Though across the way right now was weiss along with her group right now. As they were very busy making their way to where the others were last sighted. As they made a small formation just incase any grimm attacked them. With synin in the front with a sword in hand while mdiney was in the back with her bow out. While falk had his machine pistol out with weiss holding the middle ready to use her glyphs at a moment notice.
They did run into a few grimm but they were easy to pick off with their teamwork and strategies thanks to synin having some experience as a leader. Though everytime they had a break syinin just asked about her niece hearing some great stuff.
"So my niece started a giant foodfight back in beacon? Hilarious heard from my brother in law that happened."synin said
Weiss chuckled slightly"yeah it was something alright that day was amazing. I sometimes miss those days back in beacon. Were we just study to become huntresses and spend time with our friends"she said with a slight hint of cheer in her tone.
Falk sighed"look snow angel I know it still hurts that everyone is gone. Seriously it…still hurts hearing that torch is gone"he replied casually earning some looks from both the two tribe members. Because they don't know about roman torchwich being asosicated with them.
"What are you talking about that crook for? Didn't he like die or whatever after assiting with the fall of beacon?"midney asked earning a glare from falk.
"Don't talk about him like that! He is no crook seriously that guy might have done some downright crooked things. But…he called in the desparados to help the city when they forced him and his kids to help assit the bastards whos started it"falk shouted in anger catching the two by surprise slightly as synin eyed him down for a moment looking ahead.
"So would that make this lazuli girl i heard about his…daughter?"synin asked surprising them.
"Yeah that would be her along with…being swan"falk answered not wanting to hide it catching midney by surprise right now.
"Wait she was that crook going around called swan!"she shouted but weiss qucikyl covered her mouth silcning her for a minute.
"Yes but don't say it too loud. Were trying to keep it hidden for her because well uh your tribe might want to turn her in for her reward"weiss nerouvsly said but synin scoffed at that.
"Girly my big sister has told me what she done for our tribe. Letting my big sister and auntie talk to someone we knew as kids. Hearing meli was…actually alive but…torutred really hurts to hear right now"Synin said slightly teared eyed but kept her composure as weiss understood why she must be hurt. From what she gathered in the last week it seemed the branwhens and a few others were very close to that women.
"It does hurt though i really hope we can be able to find any trace of our friends."weiss said with hope.
"Don't worry we will because i'm sure feathers doesn't go down like that. Though lets hope she finding her way back to us soon"falk replied as they continued on until they soon reached where they needed to go. That being the outpost though they noticed the log missing their along with that seeing the camp still their in ruins.
"Alright since where here we need to find a way across"midney said exmaing the place for a moment. Though as they did for a bit falk eyed down below seeing the raging river making him worried if his friend is gone but he pushed that thought away.
"Thats a pretty steep drop it seems pretty hard to survive. But if someone lands in the water in time they might be able to survive. Though the valley below is pretty steep"synin explained
"Yeah though how are we going to get across?"midney asked as weiss thought of something.
The girl then summoned a few glyphs that were stepping stone that managed to reach the other side of the gap. Hesitantly falk placed a foot on the glyph as he closed his eyes expecting to go right through. But to his surprise he didn't sighing in relief.
"These things sometimes scare me because sometimes they can be solid other times they aren't"falk said as he began to hop across with midney following close behind him. Weiss did too but one person was left that being synin to their confusion.
"Hey whats taking so long auntie what you scared of crossing a small gap"midney smugly asked
Synin chuckled before jumping in off a cliff to their shock right now then like out of a thing air circling around a tree was a…raven from the looks of it. But it was slightly larger then it swooped toward them before suddenly turning back into synin.
This caught falk offguard as his jaw dropped"what…i…how did you turn into a bird?!"he shotued surprised.
"Oh so you can do what raven and qrow can do. Thats surprising i take it thats something in your family"weiss asked
"Not exactly its something that sis might explain. But in due time we should start searching for any signs of your friends."synin said diverting the topic as they began their search around the place. Immediately they noticed the very rotten bodies creeping some out from the smell as weiss foguth the urge to gag from the smell.
But she couldnt' help it puing just a bit from it as the pungent smell filled her nostril right now.
"Seriously…i'm never going to get used to this enhanced sense of smell. I feel like i'm smelling a pit filled to the brim in garbage, sewage and used diapers"weiss admitted from the awful smell.
midney laughed moving a tarp slightly"funny though at least none of us except you got that enhanced smell. "She replied to the heiress annoyance slightly.
"She right its a perk of being a faunus at times but it does have its downsides. Though speaking of that smell anything on that nose of yours or no?"synin asked as the girl thought for a moment smelling for a bit to pick something up.
But to her she coudln't find anything as she began walking around for a bit until suddenly something picked up on her sense of smell.
"Hold on….i think i smell something over here"weiss said rushing over to somewhere as they followed her. After a bit of time she found a small patch where some tents where as she got inside to reveal the inside of it seeming to resemble a small dinning area. This confused her for a moment until she began to pick up a very faint but familiar scent. Weiss then began to dig around for a bit confusing them right now.
"Alright snow angel did you smell something rotten in here or something. Because all this looks like is some sort of dinning hall"falk pointed out
"Hes right because what would be in here exactly?"midney added
Though soon enough after a bit of searching a piece of paper caught weiss attention as she dug through it for a moment. Until she found something that being a wallet from the looks of it which confused her why she picked up a very familiar scent.
"Well whatever it was. The scents coming from here but it…smells very familiar to me for some reason"weiss said before opening the wallet as she saw something that shocked her as they noticed her expression.
"Hey what did you find kid? Why do you look like something spooked you just now"syinin questioned as the faunus then showed her something that surprised the three. That being a picture of a younger raven and tai. Along with two others being summer rose along with qrow as the four were with two others. That being a younger looking girl with blonde hair along with a girl with silver eyes. These were yang and ruby.
"Wait…i…okay that isn't weird why is their a wallet here with raven and qrow here."midney asked
"Yeah because for starters thats look like it might belong to my.."synin didn't finish as a teary eyed weiss did.
"That yang is here! Maybe the others are with her maybe they all stopped at the outpost here to meet us. Which means they might actually finally be here"Weiss said with joy as her tail wagged but falk had to point the obvious out.
"But why is it here? Wound't that mean that vernal and her bandits might have taken them"falk suggested which they dreaded but before they could answer soon the sound of growling could be heard making the four draw their weapons. Almost immeidalty something tore through the tent that being a beowulf.
"Grimm! Watch out and get outside before they surround us!"synin shouted as they rushed outside to be met by about five grmm. Four of which were beowulf while one of them was an uras that roared at its new prey. Almost imemdialty mideny drew her bow notching an arrow back firing a couple into a beowulf. It stumbled slightly but lunged at her as the four scatted to deal with their targets.
With midney and her partner she kept doding its strikes for a bit as it slashed at her taking a small bit of her aura. But she held strong as she notched another arrow back before pulling back hard on the string as the grimm got on all fours rushing at her. midney held her ground closing one eye as it lunged toward her as she released an arrow instantly hitting it in the skull killing it as it turned into dust.
While with falk he dodged a beowulf slash not really wanting another scar on his waist from one of them. He decided to change thing up as he rushed to a nearby tree running up it as the grimm smacked into it growling and snarling. It started to slash at the tree to knock it down. Though that what he wanted as he got to a branch then pulled out his short sword.
Leaping off the trebranch falk used the momentum as the grimm seemed rather distracted from that move as he landed on its head. He stabbed it in the neck cuasing it to roar in pain as he quickly slit its throat causing the grimm to let out a death howl as it fell to its knee turning into dust.
With synin she was dealing with two beowulfs as she activated her semblance using the trigger on her weapon creating a dark red glyph on one of her hands. Then she pointed her weapon at the two grimm taking her to be an easy prey.
Though as the two launched forward she began to fire her weapon at an alamrign rate almost like an automatic weapon. The grimm tried to avoid the bullets but they manged to deicmated their target shredding them to pieces at that moment. This ultimately killed the two grimm as they became dust scattering to the winds. Though with weiss she was having a bit of trouble with her opponent.
But she summoned about five glyphs with two being ice glyphs another two being fire glyphs. And one benign a gravity glyph as it hled the uras in place as it couldn't keep itself up struggling to get up as it was soon met by a barrage of ice and fire. The grimm kept taking damaged severely as soon enough it soon roared falling down on its chin disappearing into dust as the four regrouped.
"Alright that was a little tough buts head back to camp to tell sis what we found"synin said as the four crossed the gap again. But something caught midney eye being a small pool of blood along with a familiar sword as she picked it up.
"Wait a minute…this is jay weapon but this patch of blood next to it weird"she said to their confusion.
"How is it weird?"weiss asked befire the girl pointed how it was placed.
"Well if he got hurt and fell with them he would have been on the tree branch. But its like someone shot him from…this side"midney replied making them starting to maybe consider adding another suepct to their list. They decided to make their way back to camp as it took them a while to get their to be met by raven standing their talking with a few people.
"Look rae i think its smart if we try to structure out warriors around key parts of the anima. Then we can have an easier time ambushing vern and her bandits"lee suggested
Raven shook her head"that not an option i need everyone here to come up with a game plan. I'm already having my warriors placed around key parts of the valley looking for any sign of her camp"She argued
"Rae is right because no offense man thats a stupid idea. Seriously is your old age getting to you or what"verona jabbed earning a glare from lee getting real sick of keeping this act up right now.
Draven then noticed the others returning"ah their you all are, i take it you were successful in finding anything useful their on where they are"he asked as the four eyed each other for a bit but syinin eyed her old friend lee for a bit which he noticed.
"What are you staring at synin? What do i have something on my face or do i finally look pretty"he joked but she scoffed at that.
"No because when we got their to the camp. The girl did a bit of digging and look what she found sis"synin said pulling out the wallet before handing it to raven who opened it shocked seeing a picture of her family their along with a younger version of her daughter and niece.
"This…this belongs to my daughter. I gifted this to her when she was around fourteen years old when she got her first job. "Raven said before relaziing her daughter might be here now.
"Wait…do you think their actually here? Thats great!"Verona cheered at the thought of seeing her other friend along with her niece. Along with meeting more of her husbands family as draven had a hopeful but worried look how close his niece was.
Weiss nodded"yes but its weird how that was their. Along with that we found jay weapon heres the thing."she said crossing her arms eyeing lee for a quick second.
"There was a small patch of blood where it might seem he was shot…from the opposite side where the camp was"weiss stated making lee the center of attention as he groaned rubbing his face as raven eyed her old friend wondering if hes hiding something from them.
"Mind explaining to us why that was their lee?"raven said almost growling as the man came up with a quick lie.
"Kid got shot in the gut by an arrow from the other side. He turned around as it caught me offguard before i could react he fell backwards into the river below. What you accusing me of killing him or something"lee said very itchy right now if hes been found. But raven eyed him for a moment deciding that he might be a possible suspect.
"Maybe though right now with that information we need to figure out if they survived. Along with that where venral camp is"raven said though soon mai was rushing over panting to tell them something.
"Hey! We got a problem because someone at the gate and your not going to believe who it is"mai said panting placing her hands on her knees. This made draven hope its qrow group after escaping from those bandits since the man was a drunk but knew when to be smart.
"Let me guess its the others finally arriving to assist us when we head to haven"Falk asked but mai had a disgusted look on her face.
"No its shay! He wants to talk to you"mai said pointing to raven as they needed to hear this. All of them rushed to the front of the gate as it was opened but several people had their weapons drawn on one person that being shay along with a few other bandits. But he had his hands up at that moment which made mai really wanna sock him across the jaw for what he did to her kids.
"Alright this better be good for why hes even here"midney said as they walked over
"Well their you are rae thought yur boys here would shoot me on sight. Terrible way to welcome an old friend"shay mockingly said
Verona scoffed"can it shay you aren't our friend or even apart of our tribe anymore. Tell us why your here now or else we'll beat the ever living crap out of all of you"she warned getting impatient.
Shay chuckled pulling out something from his pouch that being a letter which made them draw their weapons at him as he put his hands up.
"Calm down yall, just bringing a message from the boss. Because vern got something that might interest you alot"shay said peeking their interest as raven walked over snatching the letter tearing it open before going wide eyed in rage. Because in the letter in showed yang with a few bruised tied up right now as the women glared at him squeezing it in one hand placing the other on omen.
"What have you done to my daughter"raven calmly said growling
"You see vern here got an offer for you. That little envelope got the location of where she wants to meet. We'll settle this like the old ways when we got into wars with any settlements or other bandits tribes. A little showdown between both our little groups"shay said before placing his hands in his pocket.
"That being which one will prevail the strong or the weak. Come by in the afternoon tomorrow and we'll be expecting you. Even your little brat"shay fisnihed with a grin as raven foguth the urge to attack him.
"Let me guess if i don't let you go she'll be killed"raven asked kwnoignly.
"Yep now we'll be on our way see you lot tomorrow. Oh and that dumb hayley heirness we had…man it was fun seeing that little bitch cry her out like a little kid. Because she afraid of the dark"he smugyl said making draven growl as his tail thrashed lunging forward to grab him.
"You'll pay for hurting my niece you little pest! I'll sqeeze your neck until it snaps and feed you to an uras!"draven shouted as a few tribemembers held him back. That was when shay took his leave as they closed the gate as the tribe looked toward their leader waiting for their orders.
"Rae whats your gameplan are we going tomorrow or not? Because this seems like a trap"verona argued
"Are you serious vern? That her daughter put yourself in her shoes what would you do if your little girl was being held hostage by some thugs. "Lee argued hitting a sour spot for the women right now because she cared deeply for her daughter. Though lee placed a hand on his friend shoulder.
"Beside we can handle them because their all weak compared to us. Got the best warriors here to vale."he added with a confident look as raven exhaled declaring something.
"Everyone get prepared for tomorrow because we'll settled this now"raven ordered as the tribe scrambled to prepare for their war tommorrow with vernal and her bandits.
Although across the entire valley with yang and company early they were all squaring off with saxon right now. As he had his pistol aimed exclusivly at yang head right now. But the man looked crazy right now since he kept pointing at either of them as they approached him.
"Alright now your all going to listen to me. Because were going to wait for that thing to come here and were giving her it"sazon demanded
"No way, we are not giving someone up to satisfy some monster. We just need to keep moving to avoid it"bert argued as he stepped forward but saxon shot near his feet making him stop as it left a smoking hole by his feet.
"I don't care! Because I saxon huckleberry is not dying in some god forsaken woods! I have buisness to attend to in mistral right now with my clients right now. Because is expecting me back after that dam bandit double crossed me on our deal!"he shouted to the heaven thought that was when it clicked with lazuli
That where she heard him from because she eyed his neck for a momentum before going wide eyed seeing a tattoo of a set of brass knuckles with KD in the middle.
"Thats…that why i know your name!"lazuli shotued catching their attention.
Adam raised an eyebrow"what are you talking about? Let me guess hes a crook?"he asked as she nodded glaring at saxon right now.
"I've heard of your reputation saxon huckleberry or should i call you by your nickname. The zookeeper"lazuli said confusing them as saxon laughed smiling that his reputation is finally known.
"Finally you know who i am, so you must understand i'm far more important than any of you cretins here. Because right now i'm on a tight schedule"he said but she recalled his reputation being far more heinous.
"Your reputation is that you're a slaver. You run a black market in mistral for the kuncledusters. Along with that mainly because you got your stupid nickname by placing people in glass exhibits like their apart of some dam zoo"lazuli said in complete disgust as adam eyed the man down with a hateful gaze because if their one thing he despises more than humans. Its slavers.
"Oh i regret that we even let you escape with us you jerk. Because we aint letting you perform a human scafeieice"yang argued ready to strike but he aimed his weapon at her as a loud shot rang out. Yang went wide eyed though before it hit her someone pushed her out of the way that being adam which surprised her. Immediately adam was nailed in the side as he fell to the ground grunting slightly. Yang was surprised he even shoved her out of the way.
Lazuli looked worried but glared at the man but her eye sank into her skull seeing whats behind the man right now as saxon stared at them confused.
"What are you all staring at me for? What you mad that i shot that dam beast"he asked smugly until he felt something wet hit his shoulder. He felt it feeling something sticky glancing up going wide eyed seeing the wendigo standing above him drooling right now.
Before he knew its jaw were closed on his body chomping down tearing him in half completely. All of them were caught offgaurd by that as bert dove for an assault rifle grabbing it beginning to fire into it staring at the four.
"You kids get out of here now! I can hold this thing off for a bit!"he argued as the wendigo roared at him still trying to enjoy its meal still in its maws.
"No! We are not leaving you behind because.."lazuli was stopped as he glared at them backing up loading a new magazine in.
"Just go! Because i want to do some good in the world and two of you are hurt! Go now!"he ordered as they hesitated as yang hoisted adam up wrapping his arm around her shoulder. As jay had enough energy to sprint as the four spritned off from the sight not before jay snatched one of the bandits bags. But the gunfire behind them started to become less audible by the second until it finally stoped.
After about an hour of running they managed to find a camp as they were at a cave that was on a ledge high enough for them to out of reach from any animals or grimm. But they were inside trying to think what to do next as lazuli went through the bag. As she was finishing up banageding adam side as the bullet went through luckily.
The girl then pressed a banegd on it tight as he winced a little"don't be a baby bull boy because it just a flesh wound"she said placing the medkit back in the pack.
"Sorry bullet still hurt, not as bad though as well…this"adam said gesutring to his eyepatch. Though yang stared at the small fire they had since they started one as the night sky was coming out because she had to ask.
"So anyone got an idea on what to do because that stupid things keeps chasing me down. Which i'm sorry for that i got a stalker now"yang joked earning a small laugh from adam.
"Good one. Though we do need a plan on how to get rid of it because it'll keep picking us off. We need to kill it"Adam said as the other three were very heisted as jay was exmaing their pack. As it contained a couple grenades with a few fire dust crystal. Their was also a flare gun in the mix with a few provision that they ate to gain their strength back.
"How are we going to do that? That thing has been alive for years it has to be pretty smart for a grimm"jay retorted though lazuli thought for a moment as an idea came to mind as she stood up clapping her hands together.
"Well if that thing is smart then we have to outsmart it. Because how exactly do we kill this thing does it have any weakness?"lazuli asked the two branwhen members as yang thought about that story that her mom told her long ago.
"If i recall my mom mentioned how the only way to really kill it, is by tearing its heart out. Because the story goes it used to be a human long ago. Until one day they got lost in the woods here cracking as they dined on forbidden flesh"yang started as adam guessed where this was going.
"I'm assuming that this forbidden flesh is human and faunus flesh"he asked as she nodded tapping her chin cotniuing.
"Though once you remove its heart it'll be cold as ice the only way to kill it is by lighting it on…fire"yang said before they all had an idea come to mind to finally kill this grimm. About an hour later yang was standing in the middle of a field as she placed her fingers in her mouth whistling calling out to someone.
"Hey wendigo! You out their because here i am!"yang shotued into the forest before placing her foot on a nearby rock
"The mighty yang branwhen is here right here for you to fight! Come on you chicken or something to face me! Scared that i'll whoop your butt worse than my mom and uncle!"yang taunted to the woods as in a nearby tree branch was jay holding a flare gun in hand with a few shells on his hips. While adam and lazuli hide in a nearby bush waiting.
"So you think this plan will work?"he whispered as yang continuously kept throwing taunts to the woods as lazuli chuckled.
"Yeah because it won't resist her goating the dam thing. Let just hope we can pin it down with the traps we have"lazuli whispered back as yang began flipping the woods off as adam wondered how his ex even found her attractive. Though as yang kept taunting soon enough some jumped from the woods that being the wendigo as it roared into the night.
Yang smirked"Their you are ugly now lets dance because you want some payback"she said gesturing for it to come at her. The grimm snarled eyeing the scar on its chest roaring as it lunged forward trying to snatch her up to get its revenge for what that women and man did to it long ago. But yang quickly rolled out of the way as she fired a couple shot from her guanlents at it hitting it making it growl from the fire dust shots.
The wendigo wasn;t in the mood to play around as it lurhced toward a nearby tree though that was what jay wanted. As it landed near the tree he was on as he aimed his flare gun before pressing the trigger.
"Eat this ugly!"he shouted as the shot whizzed burying itslef into the creature eyemask as it roared clawing to get it out. As adam and lazuli both lurched forward as lazuli used her enhanced speed to begin firing at it several times with ice bolt. It pierced it feet as they began to blink for a moment before denaoting on impact trapping its foot. But as adam lunged forward to deal a strike the creature smacked him away into a nearby tree hard as he grunted from it as his aura flicked a little.
Then it broke free of the ice instantly as it tore the flare round from its eye throwing it to the side eyeing its main prey. The creature snarled as yang got in a defensive stance waiting for it to strike. After what felt like forever the creature rushed forward opening it maws to snap down on her head. But she was quicker as it slashed at her as she laughed at it.
"Ha! Take that you missed me you…"she stopped before seeing a small strand of blonde hair falling down. But also noticed what was in one its hand blonde hair, the girl eyes flicked to crimson red as she smacked her fist together as her hair erupted into flames.
"Oh you do not touch my hair! That is one of the main things you do not do!"she shotued in rage before beginning to began a barrage of shotgun bllast into the creature several times. The wendigo stumbled a little as adam quickly got up before eyeing lazuli who shared it.
"I think i have an idea i want you to strike me"adam said confusing her before recalling his semblance. The thief then began to attack him several times as he deflected it with his blade blocking it several times as jay looked confused at them.
"What are you two doing?! Attack that thing not each other!"jay called out making yang look over as this made the creature bash her hard in the gut sending her right next to the two. Before she even questioned it she saw his blade starting to glow red in energy understanding.
"Oh i get it okay….use your stupid semblance to cripple that dam thing!"yang ordered as he was already on it activating it as the are turned red around them. Then he striked as he slashed through the wendigo as it rushed at them though once he got on the other side he sheathed his sword, once he did the wendigo split in half on it mid section as it roared in pain and writhed on the ground.
Jay slide down as the four stared at the beast chest as lazuli pulled her sword beginning to tear into his flesh in disgust.
"This better be worth it"She said as she began to tear further until eventually she retrieved what they needed to destory. That being a beating black heart with icy blue veins as it began to beat rapidly as the wendigo whined in fear. Yang stared at it before pulling out a grenade with a fire dust crystal strapped to it.
"See yah ugly….these woods will be better without you"yang said tossing the grenade into its chest as they all dove to cover. Then after a few seconds the wendigo erupted into flames as it cried and writhed to survive. Until eventually turning into black smoke covering the entire area. As it started to die down lazuli coughed for a bit before seeing something strange that being a ghostly figure with knight-like armor on him.
He wore knight like armor as for his helmet resemble the wendigo skull as the figure slowly removed it placing it where the skull was as printed onto the armor was a skull with a cross on its forehead. They all looked at it in shock right now before the figure bowed to yang.
"Thank you. Seems my family gift was misused by that witch. "The ghost said before disappearing into the night as they process what they just saw.
"Okay that wasn't weird…but…we just killed a legnedary grimm!"jay cheered as they process that for a moment because they did.
"We did…tough lets get some rest then we can continue on looking for a way out of here"adam advised as they all nodded at that but yang found it weird how that person said witch. Could it be her.
Although right now it was a bright new morning in the anima as raven and a band of her warriors where walking through the forest right. As some of them had horses as they carried automatic weapons or spears to attack their foes. Along with a couple alt terrian vehicles to cover some distance. As weiss, falk, mai, draven and several others joined her by the front as she guided them forward leading them through the woods.
"So were actually going to be walking into a trap. You sure it was smart to leave lee behind with synin?"mai asked right now since he volunteered to stay behind along with synin.
Raven nodded"right now i'm starting to not trust him he comes back saying their gone because of her bandits. And right now…hes been acting rather strange since he arrived. "She replied
"You noticed too? Because seriously i'm worried that he might do something to my wife and daughter."draven said with worry as vlad scoffed with his sword at the ready placing a hand on his son in law.
"It'll be fine i had those loyal under me stay behind to keep an eye on everyone. Though it seems haru wanted to come badly. Ryuu did volunteer to keep an eye on her while where gone"vlad mentioned worrying weiss a little because of what she heard.
"She'll be fine the quicker we solve this we can be reunited with my brother and my niece. Even my daughter because she'll pay for hurting her"raven growled as something was building up inside her. Though soon they arrived at the location as in the distance was vernal camp with some bandits out front already on their own respective horses and vehicle. As front and center was vernal who stepped forward with a grin.
"So you actually came to face me! It seems your not as much of a coward dear sister!"vernal shouted over as raven deposed her being her sister now.
"Your not my sister! Because i'm here to put a stop to your childish antics! The old ways was just cuaisng problems for our tribe instead of being feared! Were repscted by everyone for what we'eve which mother would be proud of! But…"she paused pointing omen at her directly
"Wheres my daughter!"raven demanded right now as vernal chuckled motioning for something to be brought forward. As one of the bandits pulled something up that was familiar that being yang bike bumblebee shocking wiess a little seeing that before vernal dragged her weapons blade across the bike chasis then grinned evily.
"I already killed that dam brat three days ago!"vernal shouted making raven stand their for a moment as something seemed to snap inside her. As suddenly her right eye was coated in a bright pink flame as she growled in complete rage.
"Your going to pay for what you did!"raven shouted in rage as both sides began to charge at each other to begin their war.
Seems that the wendigo has been defeated but a ghost appears thanking them for releasing its soul from its body. While we get to hear another of ozpin lives along with raven delcaring war against vernal. Also the song for this chapter was from fallout nv dead money for reading!
