Chapter 49:charm free
Soon enough after their little dive into the mind they quickly emerged from the water depths of the mindscape. Gwen coughed up some water slightly drenched while marrow gasped for air as he shook himself off.
"Thats we get in getting soaked"gwen said wringing her dress out with water dripping off it.
"Guess so dam at least i aint gonna be soaked in the real world or whatever"marrowed said with hope.
Celeste chuckled"yeah though sorry for not telling you guys you'll die in here. Then you woudln't wanna come in"She said which earn glares from the two immediately. Gwen rolled her eyes huffing crossing her arms.
"Whatever though where should we start looking for him?"gwen questioned then a familiar copy spoke up.
"Oh my host is very close by actually its a pleasure to meet you all"bane greeted making gwen scream jumping back as marrow held his chest like his heart jumped out of his chest. While vance and celeste stared at him.
"Oh right the parasite everyone meet the grimm chimera in my cousin back. Also known as bane"vance said presenting the grimm version as he waved with a smile. Marrow raised an eyebrow at this reaching for his weapon that sruspignyl was here.
"So you all know about the chimera…better not be taking over the kid or else"marrow growled as his tail thrashed. But bane shook his head putting his hands up.
"Do not fret or by what he calls you wags."bane smuggly said which made them have a standoff for a bit. After a few minutes the wolf sighed easing his grip sheathing his weapon before crossing his arms.
"Wheres the kid pretty sure he'd be happy to see me"marrow said as the parasite gesuted close by. It showed zane sitting down crying his eyes out quietly watching a memory play out infront of him. That memory being him stabbing penny several times dropping her to the ground as she layed dead.
"Why didn't i kill myself? I'm just a dam murderer and monster….everyone just wants me dead. I should have just blown my dam brains out…can everyone stop giving me shit if i feel guilty. Seriously…i should just be dead"zane cried with tears running down his face. But then from the side someone embraced him that being vance who had a sorrowful look across his face.
The lynx held it tight comforting him right now as he layed his chin atop his head.
"Don't talk like that please. You don't deserve to die i know it hurts…but please don't talk like that"vance reassured as he looked up at the group. But went wide eyed seeing marrow standing their as the wolf smiled kneeling down getting in his view.
"Heyya kid been a long time….you doing alright?"marrow asked softly as zane just buried his face into his shoulder sobbing. He gently patted his back for him to get it out but he glanced seeing gwen their as she glared at her.
"Why are you here?"he growled in anger as gwen turned away sighing.
"I came to here sorry for what i did. I thought you didn't feel guilt for helping start the fall of vale and beacon. But you do sorry for being a jerk"gwen apolgized as he took her words in for minute. Then he sniffed rubbing his eyes and the tears away, then he nodded telling her thanks.
"Your fine your lucky i forgive easily. Let me guess here to deal with the mental suggestion?"he asked as they had good news.
"We are and this time we got a date and time. Though why don't we take a detour like watch that memory over their"marrow suggested pointing close by. It showed a figure holding someone wrapped in a jacket for some reason which confused them
Celeste shook her head"i'm not seeing something upsetting i can't take anymore sad things done to a kid"she said with sadness. But a warm smile came over to bane walking over to the statue he pointed out. Standing next to it he smiled at them.
"Its nothing sad i'll tell you…mostly but it also something heartwarming. It'll be quick"bane said touching the memory transporting them into it as they wondered what they'll see in here.
But outside in the real world in a large tent that belong to the atlas soldier stationed here. The remaining atlas soldier here where all mumuring wondering what exactly is going on. Because picto was their as infront of him was a fummint hariet. He never seen her this mad before.
All of them sat in an eeri silence as she gave a look telling them like she was an anger parent that found out they smachs a priceless vase. Until finally picto spoke.
"Litenant bree why did you request for me to–"the man was stopped receiving a stern glare from her as he sat down in his seat.
"I didn't give you permission to talk soldier you will be spoken when spoken too"hairet growled at the man who gulped nerovusly at what he did. Because he was just following orders like he usually does, what the general gave to them.
Hariet made them sit in silence as she inhaled then exhaled slowly then looked at them with a stern look still.
"I come for a routine inspection on the base since the general heard of two grimm knights in the area."hariet begun pacing up in front staring each and everyone of the soldiers down. Who felt very nerovus in her presence like she was on par with the general.
"Now i come here see for starters and hear you all eliminated one of them thats good. But then i see torturing a dam kid by shocking him repeatedly with an SDC collar"she said this stopping right infront of picto. All the soldier looked confused mumuring for a bit at what she was saying. Because it sounded like she was protecting him.
Picto and her stared at each other for a moment as he knew what she wanted as he stood up placing his hands behind his back.
"Ma'am we were given strict orders too detain and lock up any of the thirteen knights of grimm. When we found the subject i followed protocol and locked him up. If the prisoner wanted to die so–"he was stopped reciving a hard jab to the chest as he coughed for air then he kneeled down slightly. Hariet kentl down placing her hands on her knees..
"Soilder i know that was our orders. But despite that we do not execute prisoners that are high value targets. Along with that, subject omega is also a child, who will be tried for his crimes back in atlas. Now he is under my care and we will handle him. "Hariet said forcing him to look at her face as she narrowed her gaze.
"We'll come by later to discuss more as of right now i need to get a grip on our situation. But besides that good work"hariet complemented leaving the tent to the confused soldiers who just rolled with it. Picto held his gut for a moment sighing.
Once outside hariet exhaled heavily having to hold in the urge to beat the living hell of the captain. As she stood their she rubbed her eyes on how she'll handle this until a voice piped up.
"Bree their you are seriously you three ditched me at the manta. What something happen?"miller said as he was pratciaulrly dragging a large trunk over to them. The women sighed smiling.
"You can say that besides i got good news for you. Because that trunk going to its intend client"hairet said confusing him as she grabbed one end of the trunk as he grabbed the other. Then the two walked off to the medical tent to deiver it.
Almost as quickly as they entered the memory before them quickly adjusting their eyes expecting something weird right now with how marrow acted.
"Alright that fricking hurt my eyes"gwen said rubbing her eyes
"She right seriously i feel like someone threw ten flashbangs at my eyes"marrow admitted regretting entering a mmeoy now.
Celeste chuckled"you get used to it after you've done as many times as i have"she advised which ddidn't help.
"Hmm though why did you pick this memory because we do have the date for the mental suggestion"vance started before glancing at the wolf who is currently smirking. While his cousin covered his face flushed like he was embarrassed.
Gwen titled her head confused"why are you so embraced what something–"She was stoped as the sound of gunfire could be heard. Inticvly the three took cover as they took noticed of their surrudning that being a factory from the looks of it. But what they noticed was they were in the middle of an intense firefight from the looks of it. As atlas soilers and bandits littered the place, but the atlas soldier wore different outfit.
"Okay what the hell is this? Because this is a fricking warzone!"gwen shotued over the gunfire that phazes through them.
"She right because why would you be in some warzone?"vance questioned as he noticed zane staring at something. All three noticed glancing at what he was staring at someone behind a crate.
That someone was a male wearing black combat pants and boot to match. Their undershirt consisted of a dark gray mulcticamon long sleeve shirt with pads on the elbows and shoulder. Over the shirt was a white field jacket, a black tacitcal vest underneath it. While wrappped around their face was a dark blue semagn scarf. With a black balaclava with a ghost skull imprint mask and blue sports shades.
But strapped to their back and hosltered on his hip was remorse,mercy and malice. All of them quickly figured out what this was not really believing it before staring at the flustered zane. Vance jaw dropped right seeing his cousin was some sort of spec op. While gwen just realzied how he easily beat them in the vytal festival.
Celeste though just couldn't believe it"no way this kid is some sort of special operative unit. Because he have to be like fifteen or sixteen"she stated until a familiar voice spoke up.
"Dam bandits…okay gotta deal with these guy then get miller medical aid"Zane said to himself as they galanced nearby. Their was a man who was propped against the wall in an atlas spec ops uniform. But his entire right side was heavily burned as his skin blisters slightly from intense heat. While his entire right leg was heavily mangle right now, his left leg had some bone sticking out. The fabric was torn with burn marks as he kept coughing.
"D-d-don't worry kid…i can hold these guys off"miller said going into a coughing fit.
This made him chuckle"sure, let me deal with these five then get you wrapped up"he replied as he quickly paused as the bullets stop. A thug in winter clothes approach him but quickly he tore his rifle away from his hands. The thug swung at him but he side stepped him then quickly kneed him in the gut. In a swifty motion he pulled a revolver out firinng off two eletrict shot into him knocking him out.
But he was quickly rushed at by one thug charging at him with a sword, with quick thinking he unsehathed his katana blocking his strikes as spark flew. The two got locked in a power struggle as he pushed back following it up with a spin kick to the jaw as he went down immediately. Three more thugs were their as one fired upon him from a distance. But he quickly manaurved around them
They watched as he ran toward a wall jumping toward it wall running for a bit. Once he was running out of space he lunged forward to the thug tackling him to the ground. In turn knocking his weapon out of his but the thug roared punching him hard in the face as his head whipped back.
"Die you dam atlesian!"the thug roared trying to wrap his hands around his throat. But zane caught both his wrist gripping them tight as he chuckled.
"I aint from atlas scumbag have fun in the hospital"he retorted pressing down hard snapping both the man wrist as he cired in pain. But he reeled his head back headbutting him to the ground.
The other two thugs tried to overwhelm him as one swung an axe at him chipping at his aura. While the second tried to stab him but he quickly dodged his strike as the teen kneed him in the gut. As he keeled over he quickly but then zane wrapped his leg around his throat choking him out. The first thug tried to stab him but he palm striekd his throat as he grasped it, after that he dragged him down wrapping his arms around his throat choking him out. After he finally choked the two out as they went limp.
Immediately he rushed over taking a nearby thug jacket and some pipes, expertly he began to quickly wrap miller right leg up as he cried in visible pain. Then he repeated it with his arm, then hoisted him to his feet wrapping an arm around his shoulder.
Then he pressed a walkie talkie on his vest"we got a WIA. Cho been hit request to take him for medical aid"he said as someone answered him giving him orders.
"Negative, your orders are to rendezvous to the third floor with us. How bad are his injuries"hariet spoke on the other end
"Hes got sharpel in his femoral artery, along with one of his femeurs snapped in half. His leg torn to shit, along with severe third degree burns on the right side of his body"he relayed as he pause till she spoke again.
"Leave him behind he's praticuallry dead already. He followed his orders so follow yours and link up with us"hariet demanded which just made him freeze for a moment before growling in anger smacking a nearby brick wall.
"Screw you! I don't care if i fail this dumb missions he aint dying!"zane shouted as he rushed to a nearby set of doors. Then he kicked them up rushing up the stairs quickly as they followed him. It was long until he bursted through some doors with a revolver out.
Miller kept coughing up blood like he was barely hanging on but they soon arrived where they were suppose to be. They watched hariet using her semblance to quickly handcuff a thug to a pipe. While marrow and a few other soldiers were with her. Immediatly bonnet rushed over taking miller as another helped her set him down.
"We got wounded!"she called out as her and the other soldier began to adminster medical aid to him. Then he faced an annoyed hariet glaring at him as he took out both revolvers.
"Look if your gonna say i messed up i–"he was stopped earning a tap on the shoulder from her as she smiled.
"Nice job kid. I may bust your balls sometimes but sometimes we can't follow stupid orders"hairet said
"Hare right that was a test and you passed. Lets hope he survives his wound for his wedding with diaz"marrow commented as he nodded to them. Then taking point the four moved down the hall while they seemed to be doing something from the looks of it.
In the real world everyone just took in what their seeing right now, while some just stared in shock at what they witness play out before them.
"What…what did we just watch because i'm very confused right now"cardin qeustioned very shocked right now
"You mean how it showed that guy over their sleeping in the bed"akasha begun pointing toward the grimm hybrid bed he layed in.
"That apperenlty he some sort of special ops soldier for atlas"she added very shocked.
"This has gotta be fake or something because no way he some special ops soldier."earl said very shocked by this is what they've been doing in here the entire time. All the new arrivals were very caught offguard by all of this even they were themselves.
Coco pushed her shades down"no way the clown of beacon academy was some military special ops" she said recalling him being a complete jokesteer at beacon.
"She right he never mentioned anything like this. But…he just acted so care free most of the time"velvet said surprised seeing this side of her boyfriend
Dew tapped her chin for a moment"maybe but didn't you explain to us the orb display a current memory they touched"she asked looking toward nezumi who stared deeply into the orb.
The spider fuanus was staring at the orb then at zane several times trying to place this right now. Because in all her years of being in the military she is very surrpsied atlas would even have a kid in special ops. She just couldn't believe it right now.
"It does but this has to be some stupid training exercise. Some kid would never be qualfied for the atlas spartans"nezumi said which confused the group what she meant by that.
"Umm what exactly are atlas spartans is that a branch in the military or something?"xander asked
"Becuase i for sure have never heard of those guys. What they like some special regiment in the military that you join up?"cardin questioned but his girlfriend eyes sank into her skull recalling what falk told her with his time in the military.
"No because for starters umm i have a friend in the military. He told he about them and you do not mess with those guys"yumi said making them wondered what made them so special.
"Alright how tough are these guys? I've heard of ace ops and special forces but i've never heard of those guys"nebula replied looking at gwen repeatedly hoping she doesn't lose her with this stupid semblance. She doesn't wanna lose her.
"She right because aren't those special ops soldier deployed all over remannt or something"octavia added messing with her dagger.
Merlot chuckled at that statement"my dear they are but their very similar to Ace ops but they do not remain in atlas. They are deployed all over remnant for a wide variety of mission and given certain task. Weather that it be to eliminate a certain persian that cause trouble or take out an enemy stronghold"he explained
This just made some of them have a thought cross thinking hes already killed people before which meant hes already got blood on his hands.
"Wait wouldn't that means he killed people before or something?"ophelia asked a little scared right now.
"She right no offense but if this guys killed people before i'm a little nervous now"may added backing her up because that meant hes already a killer. But cardin shook his head that recalling how he acted when he trashed penny. Along with how he blew up early if hes felt guilty, a killer wouldn't feel guilt.
"I don't think so. After the final round he looked…broken thinking he actually killed someone. I'm sure he hasn't right?"cardin said this exclusively toward carmine. Because he assumed she know him the longest as the women gave a gentle nod.
"Yes hes never killed before. James gave strict orders that if he was too ever kill someone despite the cirsumcstance even in self defense. That he be excuted immedialty without hesitation. Despite hating that child he never wanted to see someone so young become a murderer"carmine explained to the group which surprised them a little.
Because they thought he killed before but for some reason they beleived her. Along with that some have seen people kill others and some have expeirnce it. Its a feeling you can never cleanse yourself from because it'll be a literally demon on your back for the rest of your life.
"Okay but who are atlas spartans?"velvet questioned again.
Though from the tent flaps they opened as they all turned their attention to it. They watched as in stepped hairet along with another person carrying a trunk into the tent. Both gently set the trunk down as the soldier panted in relief.
"Dam this thing is heavy….so your telling me that dumb lynx is in here or whatever?"miller questioned plopping down on a nearby chair.
Hariet cracked her back"sorry not my fault me and doc wanted to give his mom his stuff from atas"she replied but smiled at him. Then the two looked at the others staring at him as hairet glanced at the orb for a moment. It showed her along with three others moving through a hallway as she groaned.
"Dammit marrow dam mutt just had to pick something on top secret intel. I'm going to clip his tail"hairet stated picking up some scissors as she grabbed his tail closing them down to cut it as peach grabbed her arm stopping her.
"Are you insane!? Cutting off a faunus trait is like mangling apart of their body. Ma'am you need to be restrained for thinking of mulminalating someone"peach stated but she was met by hariet laughing at her for a moment as she sighed.
"I'm only kidding seriously i aint some psycho like that serial killer that was around a while back. What was her name…the poacher"hairet said recalling something about a serial killer who tore off faunus traits as soruvneirs.
Decker chuckled taking a puff of his cig"well some humor is needed for this type of environment. Though care to explain what were looking at bree?"he queestioned his old trainee alongside his old friend mariana. Miller quickly made sure the place was locked down as he shut the tent flaps. Then he brought out his silenced pistol which made them nerovus.
"Ma'am are we going to leak top secret intel because what are we watching exactly?"miller questioned looking at the orb glancing around his room. Then his eyes set upon someone as he walked over through the tent toward the cot zane layed in. the man stared at him for bit before laughing.
"Well i'll be a uras uncle the youngblood is alive. Guess this is what you meant by a surprise bree"miller said laughing which confused them.
"umm do you two know each other or something atlesian?"Earl rudely asked as without looking miller fired off a few silenced shots by the donkey faunus feet as three smoking holes appeared their. Then he glared at him despite having a mask.
"I do you little brat. Now keep that mouth in check before I tear your tongue out"miller said bringing out a combat knife meaning business. Earl nodded scared of this newcomer but nezumi laughed sighing shaking her head.
"Well its see seems your livly cho leader and captain of the atlas spartans"nezumi said which caught their interest. Miller laughed before looking at her for a moment removing his mask to reveal his face.
"Nez i'm guessing you lot were in the middle of explaining something?"miller questioned hugging her as she returned it.
Carmine chuckled"We were in the middle of explaining your unit on who you all are. But if we do this can't be told outside of this tent at all"She warned them all which made them confused why they can't.
"Why can't we exactly talk about this stuff outside of the tent?"miyuki asked nerovusly.
Then hariet crossed her arms under her bust"because this is classified intel if either of you and i mean either of you leak this out. We'll know and hunt you down to silence you for leaking top secret information"she warned as miller brought his knife out emphzing it with all of the nodding in agreement.
Miller sheathed his knife"good because for starters were a black ops division in the atlas miltary. We've gathered the best of the best from each regiment and put them in one cohesive unit"he explained with a change in his attitude.
Faba laughed at that"oh really? Because i recall letting you take a few of my top recruits back in the day when i was still a captain."he jabbed earning a chuckle from decker as he put his cigar our sighing.
"Same here care for me to explain the rest cho?"decker asked as the man gave him an approivng nod.
Decker stood up crossing his arms"in short their a special ops division that works close with ace operatives. Their sent on missions with them on routine gigs that need more bodies. Their covert op speicalist, recon, hand to hand combat you name it. Its a hard unit to join their are maybe oh i don't know one hundred of them give or take"Decker explained as he scratched his chin..
Hairet shook her head"your forgetting how their deployed exclsuivly with us. Their so secret not many people know about them"She stated
"Let me guess and you want us to keep it that way?"xander asked as they nodded gesutring to their weapons. But carmine glanced at the orb for a moment before a warm smile came to her face.
"We'll explain this more later why don't you watch what happens next. I promise it'll be something heartwarming"carmine advised them which they were curious about. But they decided to watch what played out before them.
In the mindscape they watched as the four cleared a hallway quickly with some more thugs. Then as they kept mowing through the palace immbolizing the thugs by snapping their wrist or causing brain damage. Soon enough they reached a single cell door area with one guard.
"Drop your weapons!"the soldier ordered as the thug did just that putting his hand up in a surrender position.
"I give up! Please don't shoot me or kill me!"he begged as qucikly they restrained him. Zane walked over to the lock blasting it open with his revolver. Then throwing the door open to reveal what was inside. Several people in tattered clothing and slave collars.
"A-are you here to save us?"one of them asked as marrow stepped forward nodding.
"We are now lets get you folks out of here and somewhere warm"marrow said guiding the group out of the cell. All of them with smiles thanking the four walking by as vance felt content seeing all this right now.
Then an atlas soldier stepped out holding his arm"thank remnant they sent you we'd be goners"the soldier said as they stepped to the side letting the people out of the cell.
"No problem. We got wind of captives after they amubshed your convoy how many of your men are left?"hairet asked as the soldier thoguht for a moment answering.
"About five including me the rest are dead. We don't have their tags"he replied sadly which bothered hariet a little.
"What about the cargo you were escorting was it destroyed or ta–"she was stopped as a sound echoed in the room. Looking inside it was a small room cramped with terrible bedding but in a corner all huddle up was someone. That being a young faunus crying also known as june.
June was huddled in a corner crying her eyes out wearing a tattered oversized shirt that barely fit her. With a pair of brown pants with holes in them, her ears looking freshly pull it seemed as blood was drawn. In the real world some of them were confused right now.
"Whats with the little girl?"nebula asked softly
Hariet sighed before putting her figner up which confused them as she began to count down from three. In the memory is showed her slowly approaching june cautiously to make her not seem like a threat.
"Cm'ere sweetie lets get you out of here–"right as hariet reached zero it showed her getting her hand bite by june. She reeled her hand back shaking it for the pain to stop.
"Gah! Whats with kids biting me when i'm trying to help them!"hairet shouted annoyed in the memory as she chuckled at that. She has terrible luck when it comes to not looking threatening infront of kids sometimes.
"Heh funny, what was the point of that?"coco asked as she gestured for them to continue watching.
In the mindscape zane slowly approach june as he knelt down to get on her level. But as he approached her she swiped at him several times like a rapid animal taking rapid breaths
"Go away! Your here to hurt me like all the bad men!"june cired as her tail thrashed revealing her with dual traits which surprised xander slightly. Hes rarely seen someone with two traits for some reason felt content.
"Relax i don't mean any harm sweetie, here i'll prove it"he reassured as he slowly took his weapons off tossing them to the side. Then he put his hands up, which calmed her down still but she was very weary.
"Now do you mind telling me where your parents are?"zane softly asked as june visible flinch from that as tears began to immediately run down her face.
"They took them away…their sleeping in the snow"june cried slightly which made gwen feel awful hearing someone say that. Cardin for one was shocked he was involved in soemthing like this but felt hurt seeing someone so young lose their parents. But some were surprised seeing this even as zane pulled his bag out. Digging through it for a bit which scared june making her back up.
"I'm sorry to hear that sweetie. But i'm pretty sure this will prove we aint here to hurt you"he said presenting some jerky in hand, a canteen of water along with placing a bottle of medicine down.
June eyed the food and drink quickly snatching it scarffaing down the jerky quickly. Then began to guzzle the canteen but coughed choking dropping it to the ground as it spilled. She began to have a severe coughing fit wheezing when he took untwisitng the cap he poured some into it then he patted her back to get it out. Then he tried to make her take it which june refused but soon enough willingy did as she shviered from the cold crying still.
"I want my mommy and daddy"june cired as he gentle rubbed her head comforting her.
"I know you do sweetie, but they'll always be with you even if their gone. But your safe right now, their smiling down on you happy your safe and sound. Just remember they'll always be here and here"he said pointing to her head and heart. Alot of them were shocked even seeing this side of him as some wondered what person would consider him a monster.
After that he wrapped her up in his field jacket zipping it up as it barely fit her. Then he wrapped his scarf around her and finally removed his balaclava to reveal his face with a soft expression. He gently made it into a stocking cap placing it on her head, then gave her his gloves.
"What's your name sweetie?"he simply asked.
June had tears running down her face lunging for a hug wailing right now. He returned it sitting there rocking back and forth with her rubbing the back of her head gently. As he shushed her to comfort the girl.
"It's okay, we'll get you somewhere safe and somewhere warm"he soothed until she passed out in his arms. Gently picking her up they watched him leave the factory that showed mass destruction around the place. With soldiers picking up crates or dead bodies around the place. But once outside they were met by a tense blizzard showing him freezing but not even caring as he held June in his arms.
As he walked outside he walked by some soldiers who were digging up some graves. That being the dead capatives placed in body bags. To their surprise he approached them as a soldier greeted him.
"Heyya youngblood you good because it's like negative fifteen out here. You're gonna get sick"a soldier warned but he shook his head.
"I'll be fine…anyone over here resembling a coyote faunus?"he asked, which consued them for a bit why he even asked that. But the soldier nodding gesutirng to a pair of body bags, they watched as he knelt down in the snow shifting an arm still holding june.
Zane placed a hand on one of them"don't worry i'll make sure she get somewhere safe. We didn't save you on time but i'm sure you two are happy she safe. I'll make sure she find a loving family to take her in"he promised with an upset look as he stood up. Then walked back to a airship walking in sitting across from miller on a stretcher. Who had tubes in him and a heart rate monitor with a stable condition. While june kept hugging him like he was some sort of protector as the memory finished.
All of them in the real world right now as some had tears surspignly. Because it felt nice seeing something like that.
"I don't even know what to say right now. Because that was actually surpsignly…nice"nezumi admitted after seeing so many upsetting memories play out.
"Your not wrong. Seeing something like proves something our school has enrolled people with excellent character. Brave-ho!"port cheered
"I know it was refreshing seeing something like that"nebula admitted smiling rubbing tears away.

This just made miller have a warm smile as he dug through his pouches for his wallet. While he did dew glanced at his emotions seeing joy, happiness and pride it seems making her wanna ask something.

The contents in question was a little strange at best. Because their were some journals, picture frames, a photo album neatly placed inside. Several items lined the trunk that looked neatly placed of them were curious as some looked into the trunk surprised.
"What is all this stuff?"akasha asked gently picking up craved statue of a beowulf skull.
"That is some of his belonging from atlas. Over the last seven years he picked up several hobbies most of that stuff is either things he made or picked up over the years"carmine answers smiling.
Jaki reached inside picking up the engraved knife unsheathing it. The blade gleaned silver with a black handle with a laughing skull on the grip. The man studied it for a bit admiring it because he was a weaponsmith and he could tell a very well made weapon.
"Let me guess the boy made this knife….impressive i'll say maybe this is why him and my daughter are partners"jaki said smiling slightly at the thought. It impressed him seeing this as he examined it being on par with his craft.

"Relax kid deep breaths this'll be over before you know it. Remember the exercise we did"marrow soothed as he took a few slow breaths to relax as he kept doing this a few time. Vance smiled at that.

"Eh try be the main guy who helped him with his panic attacks. Stayed up all night making sure the poor kid had someone comforting him. Worth it in my opinion doing good thing lead to good things happens to you"marrow wisley said making zane chuckle

"I'm still me kid though here we are i think"marow said as they approached a mirror. The mirror was playing a memory out over and over again. That being what they were looking for him strapped to a chair as arthur kept saying his command phrase over and over again.
Celeste sighed in relief"finally we found the dam thing now we smash the orb and we can call it quits!"she cheered happy but soon a disotrtoed voice called out.
"Oh you mean this?"someone spoke up as they glanced over. They looked seeing the terror standing their with fresh blood on it hands. While in his palm was a orb of light grinning at them like a madman. All of them drew their weapons except for zane who shook in fear.
"You again can you just go away you creepy bastard"vance growled brandishing his knife and roepdart.
"Yeah i haven't been here but i can tell you look messed up"gwen added as the terror gave them a creepy grin sending shiver down their spines. Then he brandished his dual falcata blades as he dragged them across the ground
"Oh i'm creepy? I'm what he is a monster…murderer, a grimm hybrid and knight. Everyone around you will keep on dying and its all your fualt. Because all of your friends are dead and its your fault"the terror begun as the area darkened around them. Then immediately several spot lights appeared as they saw something appalling. That being several corpse lining each spot light with dove with his sword buried down his throat. Russel laying down lifeless as blood pooled below him. Then their was sky with his neck looking awkward as he hung their dead.
It also showed yatsu kneeling with his sword fulcrum buried into his chest, with fox neck snapped. While it also showed tanner with lifeless eyes, and cinder with her swords driven into her chest. Finally it showed pyrrha lifeless corpse staring at them with lifeless eyes.
Zane began to crack losing feeling in his leg falling to the ground holding his head with tears running down his face.
"Kid chill out it just your mind playing tricks on you"Celeste warned as the terror decided to use that.
"Oh chill out you say…speaking of someone cold. That teammate of yours who lost her leg because of you"he spat as it showed eria with a missing leg dead as blood pooled around her
"Then their your partner who went out to murder people in your friends and your name"he added as it flashed showing rogue with her axe buried in her chest. Above her was the four members of team BRAS.
"Finally that bitch wolf faunus you loved whos probabay dead now…conri got her. If not she'll just wish you stayed dead a monster doesn't deserve any form of love"he cotninued as it flashed showing onxyia with her glaive buried in her chest.
Gwen backed up scared"This is what you guys have been dealing with in here?"she asked shocked.
Marrow eyed the fake pointing his hand at him"STAY!"he shouted which made the terror freeze in place. The terror was confused but growled as it began to still advance on them with the intent to kill as it roared at them like a wild animal. But it was trapped for now as it legs struggled with each step.
This gave vance the chance to get infront of his cousin as he slapped him across the face to bring him back to reality.
"Listen to me Z! This all in your head we smash the orb then their gone. You don't gotta worry about being control every again alright. I know your hurt about what happened and your worried about your teammates and our family. But were done we'll save menagerie then stop havan. Preventing two falls from happening"vance said with pride. Zane listened for a moment sighing as he stood up then approach the terror.
The terror smiled"aww offering yourself up for an easy–"he was stopped as zane just easily took the orb from his hands. Then he pulled remorse out slashing down as its head fell off in an instant, he placed the orb on the ground raising his blade slicing it half as a light enveloped them.
All five woke up gasping for air startling them all suddenly. But quickly vance got up then went toward his cousin using his semblance to check for the mental suggestion. Glynda noitced this wondering if they were successful.
"Well whats your decree was that memory the right one?"glynda asked as they waited in ancitpaitaion. Until checking for a bit tear came to his eyes as he smile.
T-their gone…i don't see anymore of those stupid mental suggestion anymore."vance said with tears as some smiled at lunged at smiling hugging him with tears of joy right now. He finally was free of those command phrase, now they can go save menagerie but needed to escape the grimm city
The mental suggestion are finally gone from his head which means he can't be control ever again by watts. Though we learned some interesting background on the clown actually being some black ops soilder for atlas. This sounds like some common op mc plot...duh. Thanks for reading!
