chapter 50:More Bombshells
After hearing that good news right now all of them were just still in the tent aftering hearing about the mental suggestion being cleared right now. Because one person was overjoyed right now that being zane who was smiling right now after crying again.
"So we finally got rid of those stupid mental suggestion which is great. Because i was very worried cousin"vance said with a bright smile right now.
Cardin had an arm wrapped around his friend"which means that stupid mustached jerk can't control you grimm boy"he said shaking him slightly. As velvet hugged him from the side.
"I'm happy that we finally got some good news!"she cheered
"I'm more relieved of not having to see anything more screwed up stuff right now. Seriously i'm just happy its over"nezumi said with much relief.
Glynda placed her arms behind her back"miss. Celeste are you positive that its gone?"she asked again. As the women nodded several times.
"Yep semblnaces help me remove people memories. But don't worry it won't mess with his noggin along with his memories"celeste reaffirmed again making the headmistresses relived right now hearing that.
But as they were all their soon enough zane felt a pair of arms pulled him into an embrace as his head was shoved into someone bust, that being harriett.
"Thank god your alive kid! Seriously i thought i ended up being too slow like last time"hariett cried slightly as marrow and miller snikcered at her actions right now.
"Aww the girlscout does have a heart who would have thought?"miller teased which made hariett let go before zipping over. As she quickly pulled the man into a headlock squeezing on his neck slightly as he knelt down on one knee.
"Wanna tease me again cho? Or do i need to spar with you right here and now?"hariett warned as he nodded telling her he won't. She released her hold as he coguhed slightly rubbing his sore neck. But that was when zane noticed them all here for a moment but looked at carmine who was all smiles right now as she was whipping tears away.
Some of the others took this chance to leave the tent to give them some space which left him, the atlas arrivals, fenix, jaki, vance, nezumi, glynda decker, cardin, merlot,coco, velvet and finally xander. It was an eerie silence for a moment as the doctor cleared her throat.
"Its been a long time, how have you been dear?"Carmine asked
He rubbed his neck looking away"i'm fine just pretty fricking tired from the last few days. Woke up from a coma recently. Heard a bunch of my friends are dead right now which hurts alot"he sadly answered because it still hurts that their gone. Jaki soften his gaze slightly waiting to make himself known.
Carmine sighed walking over taking a seat on the cot next to him"thats terrible to hear though for starters i'm happy to hear you rid of those mental suggestion. And miss. Bree here told me you found your family finally"she said happily as he nodded at that.
"Yeah heard about that too youngblood, still can't believe your still kicking right now. Must have been on tough brawl you had"miller said offering a handshake as he took it before sliding it back then they did a fistbump.
"Umm yeah…if you count breaking alot of my bones…and killing a bunch of grimm."zane replied
Marrowed chuckled as his tail was wagging in a fluid motion out of joy right now"well when me and hare found yah. You looked pretty dead though still great to have you alive kid"he added smiling right now.
The others felt a little awkward right now seeing how friendly he was with two ace ops and a miltary commander from what they heard. Glynda though was just surprised that james would have him be some sort of secret weapon for atlas it seems. Maybe ozpin enrolling him had more to it as she was contemplating what to do now.
Cardin chuckled slightly"funny how your friends with some military guys. Can't believe you were some blacks ops soilder"he said causing him to go wide eyed. Zane then quickly shot up grabbing the nearest person that being nezumi as he placed her in a headlock in quick succession catching them offguard right now.
"Whoa what the heck up with you kid?"decker asked reaching for his magnum now.
"Yeah…because um…your not gonna kill me or something? For us knowing this?"nezumi asked worried slightly as he was visible shaking with worry right now.
"I..i..forgot it shows that memory…your…your going to initiate protocol fifty three aren't you"he asked scared right now but it confused some right now hearing this. As vance recalled hearing about a protocol for his cousin dead body.
"What are you talking about? What do you mean by protocol fifty three?"coco aksed confused and concerned right now.
Velvet ears flopped slightly"and umm would that protocol maybe mean us being kept quiet for classified intel being leaked"she said shooting in the dark. Hariett sighed rubbing her eyes beginning to walk over. Then she carefully pulled him away from her as the spider faunus gasped for air because he actually had a tight grip on her neck.
"Kid we aint doing that stupid protocol. Already warned those others that if they let that out well…"harieet said before both miller and marrow aimed their repseictve weapons at people at that moment emphaziing it more.
Vance groaned"we get it you'll kill us or lock us up. Though what would happen to my cousin for that protocol"he growled as the ace op stared at him for a moment sighing with a heavy heart right now.
"If that was broken, the kid would be locked up back in atlas for the rest of his life. Not allowed to leave that dinky room he had back their"hariet answered but the lynx like that answer it seemed but eyed her down still.
"Okay though uhh…who the heck is this guy in the suit?"xander asked pointing to jaki as the group eyed the weaponsmith. But zane stared at him with a shameful look right now looking down wrapping his arms around himself.
"Oh hello what brings you here to vale exactly. Weren't you living with my parents back in vacuo?"velvet questioned
Jaki sighed rubbing his glasses with a cloth"unfortnaly that why i'm here right now. Your parents had to move house early than planned. Your mothers in mistral and your father should be atlas by now"he replied which brought an upset look to the rabbit. But she immediately bounced back with a smile.
"Thats great to hear, i assume your here to check up on me and make sure we come back safely?"velvet asked
"Indeed i am though from what i heard it seems your off to menageri to stop that beowulf knight from killing your frineds. Along with my teammates kali?"jaki asked as they nodded at that.
"We are though umm…."cardin stopped glancing toward zane right now as he stared at jaki right now. The two were just staring at each other as no one spoke as the first to walk over was him. Once he did he sighed heavily right now.
"I..i..i'm s-sorry…i'm so sorry i didn't find eria on time"he suddenly said to their surprise including him. Cardin soften his gaze wondering if he blames himself for her lose of limp maybe. Jaki for one was surprised hearing that be the first words he hears from him.
Zane sniffed slightly"i..i should have found her on time…s-she might have still had her leg. And..i'm sorry for that…stupid video, maybe then my partner wouldn't be trying to kill people. I shouldn't have sent that…i..i just didn't want to hurt them..or kill them like i almost did before"he cried slightly hugging himself. Then he got on his hands and knees which caught them very much offgurd.
"What the heck are you doing kid?"hariett questioned confused.
"But…please send aid to…the faunus of menagerie…if you want something in return. You can beat me up, the twins probably hate me now"he cried slightly laying his head down as this caught them offguard right now him especially. The first thing he told him was that he was sorry for his daughter lose of limp, for that video and now allowing him to rough him to send aid to the faunus to stop the white fang. Jaki stared him down for a moment before walking over, hosting him to his feet then next thing that surprised them was the man pulling him into an embrace.
"I'm terrible mad what your put my girls through right now. But right now…i'm not going to beat you up to make up for what happened"he said before removing him revealing some tears on his cheek.
"And you don't need to beg for me to send aid to close friend home. But the only thing i ask for return is to make sure my daughter are okay. Thats what i want in return"he added which he nodded several times at.
"I..i will..along with letting my partner punch me in the face. And let eria slap me upside the head."he replied which made the man smile slightly.
Merlot cleared his throat"since were done with that why don't we prepare for you all to leave right now"he stated
"Umm bad news doc because lets see we got a base full of huntsman and soldiers here that won't let us. These guy might be here to take him away"vance pointed out the obvious
Hariett scoffed slightly"look we'll discuss this later on this new issue. But lets catch up real quick and get a game plan"she said to their confusion following her outside the tent.
Once outside the tent everyone was still making their rounds for the day but a few of them eyed the group. That mainly being zane as he could feel them staring as he threw his hood up to hide his face. They were walking toward the mess hall right now, as some others were waiting for them.
"So i take it you are here for the daily inspection for the base?"glynda asked them
"We are along with that we brought some gifts for you guys wanna guess what they are?"marrow asked pointing to the briefcase carmine was carrying. They took a moment to guess right now as cardin snapped his fingers.
"Let me guess a bunch of those syringes this guy took to control his semblance?"cardin asked as the wolf snapped his fingers.
"We got a winner show em what they won doc?"marrow sarcastically said making carmine shake her head smiling. The women placed the case on a nearby crate as she held her eye against the scanner as it scanned her eye as the case clicked open.
"Access granted. Welcome carmine alcus"the case said as she threw it opened with ice hissing off of it right now. Inside the case their were ten smaller metal cases as merlot picked one up examining it. Then he opened it revealing their being ten syringes in it neatly placed inside.
Vance went wide eyed"whoa did you come to drop these off for the base to fight those grimm knights?"he asked as carmine nodded before having a somber look.
"I mainly came here to deliver them. But…i..i also hoped to saved diego…that man didn't deserve to be forced to do such ungodly things"carmine cried heartbroken she coudln't save him. Xander soften his gaze hearing that but felt a little happy hearing she wanted to save his uncle.
"Its fine…at least uncle is at peace now"xander suddenly said catching them offgurd.
"Wait a minute…uncle what are you talking about?"miller questioned
Jaki then thought for a moment hearing diego glancing at the boy thinking of one person going wide eyed."are you talking about taupe? The leader of team DAND and your fathers partner?"he asked shocked right now hearing this as fenix eyes widden. The lion himself had an upset look covering his face.
"God dammit…god dammit…not you old friend…ohh dec it going to be devastated now"fenix cried slightly making carmine feel more guilt.
The doctor sighed covering her face"i'm..i'm so sorry..i..i never got to choose who got taken. I'm so sorry.."she was about to sob but she felt the warm embrace looking down at xander right now with tears starting to form.
"It..its not your fault…blame that psycho…he the one who took uncle away. At least you want to make an amends for your actions"Xander said making her feel warm hearing that before clearing her throat slightly.
Jaki sighed rubbing his eyes"i take it you have disposed of his body."he asked as glynda shook her head.
"Were holding onto his body right now in the storage area right now with guards watching it. Though captain picto wants to send him to atlas to see if they can find weakness in the grimm knights"glynda explained as this made fenix eyes slightly twitch right now. But carmine looked at her with a wild look before growling right now.
"Theirs nothing to learn! All that left is just a poor man body…i'm not going to take someone body. And…dissect it, i'm talking to that captain later, his body is going home. Its the least i could do for him"carmine announced making xanders smile hearing that.
But as they stood their for a moment vance cracked his back rubbing it for a moment rubbing it since it felt sore.
"Well despite that how is bastet and la–"he was stopped as a set of little arms wrapped around him. He looked down seeing lavi their with the brightest smile as her tail swayed cutely.
"Uncle vance!"lavi cheered happily as they stared at him as close by was gwen who laughed at whats happening
"Aww isn't that cute the moopy lynx is an uncle how sweet"gwen cooed as he was complete flush. But fenix eyed the girl crossing his arm recalling her.
"Can it girly. You may have apologized but I recall all those rumors you and some other students spread. Lucky i don't knock you upside the head"fenix growled as the girl slinked down at that seeing hariett, miller and marrow glaring at her right now.
Miller cracked his knncukles"hmm i'd like to hear these rumors, i really need a good spar?"he said with a toothy grin.
"Same here…you better make up for that girly or else"hariett warned as she nodded because she will.
"I will though, sorry again for confronting you early. I didn't know if you felt gu–"she was stopped.
"Your fine, like i said early i easily forgive. Just do me a favor and be nicer to beacon students"he replied as she nodded in agreement to make amends.
Vance picked up lavi hugging the lion close"what are you doing here sweetie? This place is too dangerous for someone your age"he said in a sweet voice. Nezumi chuckled smiling slightly finding it rather adorable, he losing his tough guy look.
Lavi hugged him again"creepy men in purple tried to take me and momma."she said to his shock.
"Wait what?!"vance shouted in shock.
Gwen tapped her chin on who these men were"Are you talking about the unseen eye? Those creepy cultists roaming the deserts of vacuo for their god."she added but merlot scoffed heavily at that.
"Ah that cult, most of the volunteers for the experiments came from their sect. made them believe their following their queens will"merlot mentioned but they stood their stunned for a moment as cardin eyed him for a moment like he was crazy.
"That psycho serial killer has a wife?!"cardin shouted to the heavens right now as the faunus winced slightly.
Miller smacked his hand in his palm"oh right tyrian callows. Reports stated seeing some scorpion faunus during the fall. You think it was that guy?"he asked but vance growled at that name hissing slightly.
"Whats up with you?"marrow questioned
Carmine eyed him for a moment"i take it you know about who kidnapped him staging that fire?"She asked pointing to zane which surprised jaki hearing he had bad blood with that man.
"Oh i am…along with that dam mutt conri"vance growled
"Swear"lavi cutely said as he sighed placing her down ruffling her hair for a moment
Fenix laughed at that"You know what my lioness said one lien in the swear jar. Your lucky we don't have it or we'd be rich here"he joked as they groaned at that. But rushing over right now was bastet who noticed her daughter with someone as she sighed in relief as she hugged vance as his head was shoved into her bust.
""Their you are dear, i was worried that you were gone"bastet cheered as he blush slightly before returning it.
"Nah i won't though…"the lynx started removing himself before wrapping an arm around his cousin with a bright smile.
"I found something in this city finally. Found my not so dead cousin which is great, i'm sure auntie and cousin will be happy"vance cheered in joy.
Bastet slightly went wide eyed seeing him for a moment as the lion stared him down for a moment to their confusion right now.
"Whats with you staring at him lady? What you wanna hug him or something like his sister does along with velvet here"coco said pointing at xander who backed up farther again hearing that. With velvet blushing like mad now covering her face with her ears. Miller began to laugh at that holding his stomach.
"Oh…oh…oh you got a girlfriend? And two of them at that?!Dang it i lost a bet, thought you swung for guys like me?"miller siad gesutring to himself as zane chuckled slihglty because he might not have one soon. But had a teasing look
"Shut up cho, at least i didn't have to wear…oh what was it a dress on your wedding day with diaz"he said with a cheeky grin. Immediately miller face drained of life as he went completely blushed as they began to laugh at the man for a bit hearing he wore a dress.
"You wore a dress?"velvet asked giggling right now.
"I forgot about that…oh man everyone was laughing so much that day"hariett said wiping a tear away. But coco glanced at cardin as he glared at her to not say it.
"Don't you dare adel or i'll say something embrassing about you"cardin warned but she had a confident look on her face.
"Oh whats worse than lets see wearing a maid dress as a punishment"coco said anyway making them laugh at him as he blush slightly. Then he crossed his arms with a confident look.
"Okay miss I fancied that dashing girl from shade you fancied"cardin teased back making both of the girl go completely flush right now.
Marrow snickered at her"man this is comedy gold right now. Though lets grab some grub i'm starving from that boring airship ride"he said walking inside. They tried to stop him but walked inside to the mess hall to catch up and talk for a bit. Once inside some people where their eyeing them their group for a bit. But once they got to where vio was she eyed the group with a soft look.
But saw the two ace ops going wide eyed"well i'll be two ace ops walking into my mess hall, should bring out the good plates"she joked
"Funny though got anything to eat because we gotta do an inspection. Might as well start here'marrow replied as she grabbed a tray fixing up some food which consisted of some meatloaf and chili. With a bottle of water.
"Today special, eat up because pretty sure airship food isn't the best"vio said as some of them took some trays to eat. But vance eyed her for a moment wondering if she'll just refuse his cousin food like before. Vio then eyed zane who just walked past her before she cleared her throat as he turned toward her.
"Hey kid pretty sure your forgetting your tray"vio said placing a tray with some meatloaf, chili and bottle of apple juice. He just hugged himself looking down.
"I..um..i'm fine..i.."he stopped as his stomach rumbled slightly as it hurt slightly. The women eyed him before he relented taking it as vance eyed her for a moment wondering why she was nice but read her mind.
"Guessing your going to stop being a jerk to my cousin because of his little speech?"he asked as the cook nodded.
"Thought the kid didn't feel guilty for what he helped with, i'll let him have one proper meal for now"vio said as he appreciated it sitting down. As they were eating some food as lavi scarfed down consisting of corn and meatloaf. While joining them was miyuki, eden and nebula at the table.
"So my daughter saved your arm by redressing your bandages for you?"jaki asked as miyuki hummed slightly.
"Yeah she did…doc back in the village said i might have lost it too infection. I'm sorry to hear she was kidnapped"she consoled
Jaki sighed"its quiet alright i'm sure shes safe for now. But i'm sure she told you she took that uras girl you with back to her aunt"he replied maing eden smile hearing that.
"Well my little sister is getting a surprise when we get to menagerie"eden added surprising jaki as carmine had a guilty look on her face.
"Let me guess…i heard this from hariett. She was turned into a grimm hybrid because of arthur wasn't she?"Carmine softly as as the bear faunus nodded before laying her head down messing with her tray for a moment.
"She was…i'm just lucky her and my best friend escape when they did. I just hope she okay"eden replied
Carmine grabbed her hands"I'm sorry, I'm sorry for someone her age to go through that."she said as the bear smiled appreciating it. But as they kept eating it was like heaven to zane right now eating something that didn't look inedible. As they ate they decided to ask what happened in vacuo.
"So what exactly happened in vacuo and why did the unseen eye try to take these two?"gwen asked again
Nebula groaned placing her face on the table"not those psychos…ughhh i wish they weren't their seriously their creepy. How come the vacian government send a raiding party after them or atlas even"she asked
"Eh their well hidden if i recall. Their assassins for a reason though what happened was this"decker said as he began to explain to them what happened in vacuo in the last two days. How yesterday they were sent to fix the weeping wells to provide water for the capital. Along with explaining how they planned to posion it and sprinkled in xanthe being a spy.
Jaki then back up what happened when they tracked down bastet and lavi as they were surrpsied to hear that.
"And that what happened in vacuo any questions?"decker finish his explaitnion
"No didn't think those guys would try to posion a enitre city actually. "Nezumi replied amazed
Glynda scoffed"and hearing of her being a spy doesn't surprise me. I never really liked that women i admit"she added but bastet decided to clear her throat getting their attention.
"Your also forgetting how we ran into those two people with semblances like yours,"Bastet said, pointing directly at Zane, who dropped his utensil with wide eyes right now. Vance jaw dropped right now hearing that as cardin blinked rubbing his eyes. As nebula was caught offguard by that.
"Wait your joking right? No way you ran into someone with a semblance like his that would means its inherited?"Miller questioned before Jaki pulled out his scroll showing a picture to them. In the picture it showed two people with exact copies of his semblance as his jaw went slack.
"Oh my god did not expect that,"marrow said shocked as his tail drooped.
Vance rubbed his eyes"no kidding when we found out we were a little shocked too"he added as they found that to be another bombshell.
"Wait hold up are you messing with us because no way that kids semblnaces is inherited"hariett said but zane acitavted it going into his titan form but he felt woozy using it slightly because he didn't have much aura. Cross references that and the picture they were carbon copies.
"Well i'll be its a match huh guess this kid got some family in vacuo"miller said scratching his head. But carmine eyed him for a moment with worry as he dropped it seeing no bracelet on his wrist.
"Where is that bracelet pietro made for you to control your semblance?"carmine asked very worried as she hastily was grabbing the briefcase right now.
"Oh right it busted since most of the tech was atlas so.."coco said before zane slightly cried in pain holding his head feeling a splitting headache right now. But hariett quickly darted for the case as she opened before pulling him over injecting the syringe into his neck as he relaxed feeling energized now.
Hariett sighed relief"seriously kid don't be stupid, we just had to use one since you decided to do that."she warned as he nodded rubbing his neck for a moment. Carmine though had good news on that feeling around the case for a bit before grabbing something.
"Well i was saving this for diego if we found him, but you might need it"carmine said presenting another copy of his bracelet he wore. Hesitantly he grabbed it slipping on as it beeped for a moment displaying his heartate as he felt like a piece of him was back.
"Great now he can use his dumb semblance or whatever. "Gwen said snarkly.
Bastet chuckled slightly"yes though on the topic of those two. Though right now someone asked me to give this to nadia. But you should have something from your…mother"she suddenly said to their shock. She pulled the small box out before opening it to reveal the ring inside it.
"Wait..did…did you say mother?"vance asked shocked as she nodded.
"Yes, a close friend of mine named lilith forger is actually her sister. I learned of her relation with you recently, she asked me to gift this to your new mother. But you should have it"bastet replied as he cautiously picked the ring up examining it shocked right now. The last three days have been bombshell central.
Velvet blinked for a moment confused"wait so she has the same semblance like him then?"she asked suddenly to bastet confusion.
"That would be silly dear she told me it was his father az–"she was stopped
"Azaril….he took my mom's last name. But..i inherited it from my mom…on her side of her family"zane said holding the ring close right now as tears dripped down his face hearing that his actual family was in vacuo right now. Bastet went wide eyed for a moment then pieced it together she was lying to her.
Hariett rubbed her temple for a moment"well this isn't crazy at all right now. But how did you know about it?"she asked before nezumi shook her head at that as the ace ops then realized celeste semblance sighing.
"Oh we saw his mom get shot in the head"akasha blunlty said joining them before some glared at her right now. Then xander plucked one of her feathers causing her to yelp as she rubbed her arms.
"Seriously feathers, trying to not be all sad right now. That was messed up though i'll admit"Cardin admitted
Carmine felt hurt hearing that but it made sense why she could never find his family. Because the only results she got was a dead women and man the rest where several fake identities for some reason.
Bastet sighed rubbing her eyes"i'm sorry to hear that but…if you want we could head over to vacuo real quick and visit her"she offered giving him a chance to meet his family but he gave a surprising answer
"Nah…nah i really don't wanna"zane replied
"We can leave in the next…what?"vance asked shocked right now that he didn't wanna see his actually family right now.
"Okay are you stupid or something kid? No offense i'm surprised by all this but its your actually family. Why woudln't you want to meet them?"marrow asked as he slipped the ring over his right ring finger as it fit perfectly. Then he sighed standing up depsoiting his tray cracking his neck for a moment.
"Look they may be my family by blood, they didn't abandon me, leave me to die. But…right now I really wanna go to the family that raised me. It might be close but we're on the clock…and I don't wanna lose anymore of my family"he answered stoicly before glancing toward his cousin who had tears hearing that right before lunging at him hugging him as he patted his back slightly.
"I..i alright…god your making me cry you suck cousin"vance spat making him chuckle.
"Well we need to head stop that mutt, they'll still be in vacuo. Maybe after were done i'll visit"zane replied as hariett laughed to herself because that kid has a chance to actually meet his family but wants to make sure the people who raised him are alive.
"Hold on do you probably know where is other family members is? The memory said hes got two ucnles and another aunt"cardin asked as bastet hummed recalling something.
"Memory serves me right lilith has an older brother in vacuo. She has a sister that lives in atlas actually and…a brother in mistral"she answered to some surprise
"You gotta be kidding me, one of this kid family members were right under our noses. That sucks"marrow said annoyed
"Well if we gotta prepare you a shuttle then tonight. Because for starters lets do some stuff here to help out"she said as they nodded in agreement.
As they headed to one place that being the armory as DJ was their with mulberry polishing something in his hands. That being a battle hamd that had what looked like a small rocket engine in the back. As may was their with leon who looked better it seems.
Miller smiled seeing him"leon you old sharpshooter good to see yah buddy!"he called out as the sniper chuckled walking over hugging him.
"Sup cho, nice to see your ugly mugg again after what was it.."leon tried to recall
"It'd be four years since you left the military. Though my husband and my little juney would disagree with you"miller said gushing over his daughter as hariett groaned.
"Shut up about her seriously we get it. I find my little girl to be the most precious thing in the world. "Hariett said in a baby voice making him grumble slightly.
"Does he usually gush over her or something?"nebula aksed readying her crossbow right now as marrow and hariett nodded. Though zane immediately recalled her groaning right now.
"Oh her…i'm guessing she's pretty heartbroken right now hearing i died?"he asked as miller nodded sighing.
"She was, seriously hard to have a little girl her age keep a secret. But…i'm sure she'd be happy to see you again."miller replied making him feel warm hearing that.
Velvet giggled slightly"that nice though that was rather sweet seeing that i'll admit. I'm surrpised seeing another person with dual traits again"she added
"Same here that would make me seeing lets see…three now"akasha counted how many she meet peeking their interest.
Gwen loaded some knives into her slots of her prosthetic arm"oh really who? Theirs is that little girl and his sister. Who else?"she asked
"Oh sun's aunt bonnet she got two traits actually"akasha answered to their surprise but hariett blsuhed suddenly at the mention of her which nezumi noticed. The spider stared her down before she realzied something.
"No way…oh..oh my god did you finally ask her out?"nezumi asked as hariett used her semblance to cover the women mouth with a completely visible blush. Zane ears were ringing before he began to laugh at her holding his stomach.
"Bout time girlscout! Oh no wonder that dumb monkey last name sounded familiar. Someone give me the tea?"he asked
"Your gonna love this before we left monkey girl and her swapped spit before we departed. Then gave her scroll number to her"marrow said cooing slightly to the women emrbassment before smacking a nearby wooden wall as it cracked slightly.
"Enough! Look you got anything needed solved here or what?"hariett asked still blushing slightly.
"Well we do have a problem with the CCT tower here. Alot of grimm were their last time messed some us up bad"akasha replied
"Then their we go we should maybe clear that out, if you guys got anything else you wanna do before you finally leave here say it now"decker asked as velvet neoruvsly raised her hand up.
Mulberry noticed it placing his hammer on his shoulder"What is it miss scarlitina?"he asked as she mustered up her courage.
"I wanna go to the dorms at beacon"velvet nerovosuly said but they all looked at her like she was crazy right now.
"Kid…are you nuts? That school is praticualry crawling with grimm seriously it the hotspot, like their nesting or something"nezumi said
"Umm bun no offense thats a little risky. Rather not have you get hurt before were off to see wolfie"Zane voiced his worry for her
Cardin glanced at her with an upset look wanting to guess why"vel why do you wanna go to the dorms even?'he asked as the rabbit held her ears pulling them over rubbing them slightly as she hoped they woudln't find it childish.
"I wanna get some things from the dorms…more importantly…things from the people we lost their."velvet said hesaintly as suddenly a wave of grief washed over some of them as coco sighed understanding why she wanted to go as she walked over wrapping one arm around her.
"You wanna see what might have done fox and yatsu in don't you?"coco softly asked as she nodded
Glynda sighed closing her eyes"dear we told you how those two perished. Fox broke his neck while yatsu had a stab wound in the heart"she explained but that sounded suspicious to marrow for some reason.
"Look…can we please just go their…if we can sneak by them. Maybe then we can…give our friends a few of the things they left behind"velvet begged as she did one thing the bunny eyes something that glynda wasn't falling for, but nezumi did as she groaned.
"Fine you can go their! But be careful grimm are swarming the headmaster old office for some reason. Leon, faba you two go with her"she ordered as the two stepped up.
"Sure thing anything for my favorite niece, any other volunteers?"faba asked as soon mulberry stepped up alongside jaki. Their was also cardin, may, opehlia along with earl surprisingly stepping up with marrow as well.
"Alright thats your group be careful over their guessing were heading to the CCT tower"miller siad loading a new magazine.
"Oh right before you forget here you go kid. Your temp tools"DJ said as he placed the kodachi blades along with the pistol on the table. Zane holstered then as placed the sheath on his back as he geared up. While DJ placed equinox on the table as he clipped it onto his waist peeking jaki interest slightly, but he'll ask later.
"Forgot you don't have those weapons you made in atlas. Where are they?"marrow asked
"Their back in menagerie i…left them their wanting my mom to have something to remember me by."zane answered somebrly before vance realzied the thing he got for his cousin as he pulled the case from his bike that was close by.
"Got another weapon for your arsenal cousin"vance said as he was curious before throwing the latches up to reveal the grappling hook guanlent. Carefully he quickly slipped it on, tightening its strap making sure it was secured.
"Alright quick run down it functions as a.."the lynx was stopped as he flexed his wrist firing the hook into a nearby wall. Then retracted it as he clenched his fist as the wire went slack as he grabbed it spinning it for a moment before flicking his wrist into a nearby target hitting a bullseyes.
"I've worked with one of these before though thanks fish eater"he thanked appreciating it as their group consisted of him, gwen, nebula, hariett, miller, decker, fenix, and port surpsignly. Both groups went their separate ways.
It didn't take them long to get to the CCT tower as they were looking over from the small wall. Though notaicable their seemed compared to last time. It mainly seemed like uras and beowulf with a banshee in the mix. Though all of them noticed something else added to the mix that towered above them.
It was a large musucalr human like grimm with black skin and white bone armor all over its body making it a juggernaut. It had the traditional grimm bone mask with red line but one large yellow eye however it had a large bone like club ints its hand not afraid to clobber someone. But a gleaming fact was it seemed to be eighteen feet tall standing high above some buildings.
"Okay, i didn't expect for us to run into a benamouth"nebula said quite frantically shocked.
"God what in the name of remnant is that thing, i've never seen a grimm that size before"miller said
The grimm expert peter port tapped his chin snapping his finger"ah judging by its appearance and it holding a tool in its hands. We are dealing with a cyclops"he deduced the grimm known as a cyclops.
"Oh why is it called that? Because its a towering giant which will make for an interesting brawl"fenix said about to rush forward but luckily decker pulled the eager lion back behind cover.
"We aint rushing in their may be alot of us but right now i count at least forty grimm."decker said pointing out the beowulfs, uras, banshee and atop the tower a terx acting like some sort of overwatch for its grimm siblings.
"Old man right. We need a plan to deal with these things quick and easy. Anyone got one?" vance questioned as they all were trying to come up with one. But hariet glanced toward zane smirking slightly recalling his little tactics back then.
"Hey kid question for ya, got any plan for dealing with this mess?"hariet asked
Zane nodded as he got a better look at the situation before them. Judging by the large amount of grimm the best option would be to deal with the smaller ones as best they can. But have a second group focus on dealing with the juggernaut size grimm, he then came up with something.
"Alright we split up into two teams, team one focuses on covering us dealing with the grimm."he started before poitning to team one consisting of decker, miller, nebula, port and finally fenix.
"Then what about the second group?"nebula asked loading a bolt into her crossbow at the ready.
"Our goal is to immbolize the big guy. Which makes you three very important for such a task"he said this directly to his cousin, bree and gwen as the three didn't like the sound of this right now. Because he could be sending them to their deaths now.
"This better not get us killed becuase i'll haunt you"gwen said pointing one of her knives in his face.
Hairet rolled her eyes"might break a couple bones but i'm guessing you want one of us to wrap its legs up. Consdieirng why you picked the cat'she asked as he nodded.
"Yep though darcy use ice dust for your knives to pin its feet down. I'll keep you cover"zane finished bringing out his kodachi blades.
Vance twirled his rope dart for a moment as hariet simply cracked her neck and knuckles. Miller pulled out his assault rifle primming the hammer while gwen arm shifted its knife slot around loaidng in ice dust coated knives. All of them were eady for a fight.
"Break!"he shouted as the first to engage was fenix with a smile on his face rushing in at the first two grimm he raised his guanlent claw up digging into one. The grimm roared as the lion soon dug the claws out as he began to swip at it several times causing several cuts to appear. Then he cocked his clawed guanlent back uppercutting it jaws piercing its skull killing it. Wanting to avenge its brother the second grimm lunge toward him.
The beowulf roared pouncing atop him but fenix raised his shield deflecting its attack as he pushed it back to gain some ground. Before the grimm knew it he was struck in the heart by something sharp as fenix dug his claws out killing it.
With miller he rushed foward aiming his rifle beginning to dump a hail of bullets into one grimm that being the banshee. The shrieking grimm stumbled slightly but held strong as its face slits began to open to deliver a devastating shriek.
Though he wanted this as he pulled out a grenade pressing a button as he focused his attention on the slits opening. He hoped this'll work as he exhaled before throwing a fastball into the grimm. As it was about to deliver its shriek soon something landed inside its mouth as it stood their for a moment. After a few seconds a large explosive went off as it blew the grimm in half as it disappeared into smoke.
"Ha! Bulleyes!"he cheered as he returned to the fray to fight the grimm before him. With nebula she was dealing with two grimm and an as she tiwlred her sword welcoming her new foes. One of the grimm thought she was an easy prey rushing toward her riaisng its paws to slash her wide open. Though it was met by her dodging out of the way of its strike as she quickly used her semblance to get atop it. Then raised her blade driving it down into its skull killing it.
The second grimm tried to catch her offguard but as it pounced toward her she quickly dodged it noticing it just in time. Nebula without a second through switched to her crossbow pressing down on the trigger fiirng about two bolts into it. The first pierced it shoulder then a second pierced it legs,it snarled at her but she waved to it. Those bolts inside it started to blink until it kept blinking faster until it reached the end of its countdown blowing it to smithering.
Then immediately the uras swiped at her sending her into a car hard as she groaned slightly. As she collected herself the uras then decided to finish off its prey then prepare return to its den. The uras then charged foward to pierce her with its jaw though as it got close it was stop.
Because port after dealing with three grimm quickly chuckled at the opponent before him throwing his weapon away confusing her.
"Come now beast i'll show you what i peter port hutnsman extraordinary can do"peter declared before gripping his clothes ripping his shirt off to reveal his muscular physique for his age. The bear snarled as the two both got into a stalemate with each other as nebula gagged slightly.
Decker though was busy pulling his knife out a grimm throat killing it looking at the three infornt of him. The three grimm took the old man as easy prey though a cigar in hand he took a deep puff tapping his cig ash on the ground. Within an instant he summoned enera as the smoke demon quickly split itself apart. Then it traveld into the grimm mouth as the three looked confused. Until they started to swell expanding from the smoke vapor until they pop like a ballon killing them.
Though above it all was the cyclops staring down at its invaders of its turf as everystep it made echoed through the streets with a thud. It seemed uninterested in the fight between the fight between the humans and grimm. Though it felt something prick its legs looking down to see who messing with it.
Gwen was throwing several knives into its thick skin pieircng it as they kept blinking denating covering its ankles in parital ice. The grimm roared in rage from the cold feeling as it raised its club brining it down to smash her into piece.
Luckily gwen saw the shadow casted over here quickly spriitnign for a life as the club came down creating a dust cloud. The cyclops lifted it up slowly to reveal a massive crater in the ground but was confused wondering where his attacker was though with vance and hariet he was burying tossing it to her.
"Alright now trap that dam then we can clean the rest up"vance deamdned as she wasn't one to argue as she used her enhanced speed leaving behind an electric trail behind her. As she began to coil the rope around the grimms legs as it looked confused as she began to tie its legs up.
With zane he was busy providing cover as he was dealing with three grimm close by. As he raised his kodachi blades quickly dodign one as it tried to swipe his head off but he slashed its off bringing both blades down on its neck. As he got slashed chipping at his aura a little but he grutned pressing a button undoing the progs as he combined the swords into a sword staff.
Then he expected another slash came from it but he side stepped raising his blade as he sliced off its arm first as it roared in pain. But in a fluid motion he tiwrled the blade beginning to slice and chop it up into little pieces killing it. Which left the third grimm decidied to come rushing in at him jumping in the air to kill him. But he decided to test out euniox as he tossed his kodachi staff to the side unsheathing the ninjakto bringing it as it gleaned in the light. Before the grimm knew what happened it went straight through the sharp blade slicing it down its midsection killing it.
"Oh man this might be my best project yet"he cheered retirienv his kodachi blades continuing to provide cover.
Gwen was dodging and weaving through grimm contiosunyl throwing knives into the cyclopcs thighs and ankles as it created small ice like spots on its thick skin. The grimm kept roaring in pain from the frigid cold.
Vance was busy killing a grimm before shouting out"how do we exactly kill this thing again!?"he called was busy as he had the uras he was battling in a headlock punching it several times in the face
"Aim for its neck!"port called out though as he did the cyclop reeled it foot back causing hariet to loose her footing getting rocketed into gwen. The two tumbled into each other hard landing with a thud on the ground. Hairet groaned picking herself up as the grimm saw its chance raising its club up to smash them into a fine pulp.
Nebula noticed this going wide eyed"no! Get out of the way you idiots!"she cried scared right now as zane finished off slicing off a grimm head looking over at the two as the club was being brought down on them. Time seemed to slow down as bane suggested him something as he nodded.
Then he began to sprint forward sheathing equinox as his eyes changed crimson as a different his bodie as white spikes emerged from his back and he grew claw like hands. With hairet she gathered herself seeing the large club as she ready to push gwen out of the way. Though it was too late as a large shadow loomed over them as she shield the young huntsman both of them expected death.
But as they sat their instead they were met by nothing as hariet slowly opened her eyes going wide eyed right now. Because she looked to see him in his creature form surprising her that hes even in this. Gwen looked shocked as well.
"Uhh thats a nifty trick for a semblance"gwen said
"No…no…thats dangerous we need to get one of his stupid syringe!"hairet called out but the creature grunted at that confusing her. Vance quickly rushed over along with port after he snapped the uras he fought neck. The two guided them out of the way
"Totally forgot he went all monster last i saw him during the fall. I think he can control it now"vance stated shocking her that he could control it now wondering how much damage it could too. With the creature it snarled as it planted its feet digging it into the ground scrapping the hard ground. The towering grimm narrowed its one eye placing both hands down to push it into it. Though as it did the club it had began to crack for a bit until soon shattered part way to its shock.
Pulling it up to reveal its shattered club it looked enrage dropping the broken club desotrying a car as it rised its fist to smash it. But the creature was faster as it was very slow as it snuck up behind it slashiing its achilles heel out causing it to roar in pain kneeling down. Then it roared itself crawling up a building digging into it as it got atop of a rooftop. Immediately it lurched forward onto its back digging its claws into its skin cuaisng it to roar in pain standing up. It tried to swat him off.
But the creature held on jumping forward getting closer to its neck as it opened it maw biting into it causing the cyclops to roar in pain falling down hard kicking a large dust cloud up as it disappeared into smoke. The creature then roared loud as it echoed through the city catching the others' attention.
"Whoa uhh where the hell did that thing come from?"fenix questioned
"Don't know never seen a grimm like that before"Decker replied though something strange happened as the grimm they were all fighting began to approach the creature. It confused them thinking he might be controlling them.
"Huh so he can control grimm…neat"nebula said
"Yeah though we might have to either subdue him so i can inject him if he lose control"hairet warned
But as they watched the grimm approach him the opposite happened as they began to attack him instead. Though the creature didn;t mind as it picked up a grimm smashing it dead. As it tail whipped around slicing three in half in an instant. Then it reeled it claw back digging and slashing through several grimm. But an uras wanted to get in on the action as it lunged forward.
As it did to chomp down on the creature with ease it caught its head then caved it in killing it, then it opened it maw biting down on a grimm tearing it in half swallowing it as it kept tearing through the grimm.
Gwen gagged"oh my god…he ate a grimm that nasty"she said
"Well for starters, seems those other one really don't like him wonder why"Decker questioned though he was moping through the grimm slashed, crushing or tearing them apart. As he killed one more grimm the teryx lurched foward to attack its new foe unfrialing it wings. Though as it came toward him the creature caught it midair as it roared in pain as it tore its beaks apart killing it as it roared before looking toward them prowling forward.
Immediately all of them drew their weapons on it expecting for it to kill them, instead it just sat infront of them titling its head. They needed to process this real quick.
"Okay this isn't weird, never expected a grimm to not attack us"fenix said keeping his guard up.
"I know, though i'm guessing you're staying in control because of that bug?"vance asked as it nodded confusing fenix and decker.
"Bug the hell you talking about?"Decker questioned, scratching his chin.
"I'll explain later but hey at least he aint trying to tear my head off now"hairet said but the creature then licked her covering her in a large amount of spit. Her hair was sticking up as her entire body felt sticky before glaring at the creature who stuck its tongue out gagging.
Vance held his stomach laughing"oh my god, oh..oh this is priceless man this will do some damage"he said laughing still
Port tapped his chin as he easily brought the creature down examining it, confusing the creature that's it being prodded right now. As he was examining its jaw, claws,tail and body structure the huntsman has never seen a grimm like this before.
"Well this is interesting, their isn't any known grimm recorded in our books on this. Fascinating it would suggest a beowulf with its canines, but it has the claws of a teryx even sharp enough to slice through anything. Along with the tail structure of a sobek ''port stated as the creature soon groaned turning into goo covering them all in it. Gwen wiped her eyes in disgust as in the goo pile zane coughed several times puking up black tar,taking heavy breaths.
Miller walked over helping him up"you good kid because you look like hammered shit"he said as he tried to walk but stumbled panting heavily feeling exhuasted right now. But for some reason he felt very weak like his lifespan was taken away.
"Other than being…pretty tired…ughh i feel like..'he stopped passing out from using it as miller caught him hosiitng him up carrying him.
"Alright since were done here lets head back. "Hariet said as they walked away from the tower back to camp.
Seems zane now has control of mosnter form along with hearing several bombshells on his actually family. But instead wanted to focus on his adoptive family as a new grimm was introduced! Along with velvet wanting to head back to the dorms to find out what happened to fox and yatsu. Thanks for reading!
