Chapter 51:Killer
In the middle fo the bandit camp right now it was a pure brawl right now as they were going on the offensive right now. As most of the bandits were distracted right now as their captives were fighting back to gain their freedom. Eria was dashing through the camp using her skates to quickly manuver through the camp dodging and striking wherever she can.
As she skited through the camp using her semblance to crate a path of ice to guide her way. Eria saw one bandit trying to stab a captive as she narrowed her gaze before twirling her bat back as she got close enough before whistling toward them.
"Heads up!"she called out making the bandit turn toward her
"What in the–"she was stopped before a bat was cracked across her face sending her flying into the camp as she slumped over groaning as the captive stood up nodding.
"Thanks kid….lets get this over with because i'm sick of these bandit scum"the captive said rushing over into the camp to continue the fight as she glanced around to see the others were busy as well.
She watched as emerald was in the midst of fighting a few bandits off right now as they were trying to surround her. But she rushed foward toward a wooden beam running up it before flipping over a bandit landing ontop of them before the other two rushed at her.
But she waited as they got close and right as they got close she jumped up causing the three to collided with each other. Then she landed on her feet with both her pistols out at the ready as the three quickly got up deciding to overwhelm their opponent right now.
Immediately one of them lunged at her swinging a club at her hitting her hard in the side causing her to stumble slightly. But quickly she regaitned her balance as she slashed at their aura a few times dealing massive amount of damage to them before finishing them off with a kick flip knocking them down for the count
But the other two tried to sneak up on her as both drew their blades before lugning at her as she just stood their taking it.
"Ha! Eat this you dam brat!"a bandit shouted luning at her with their sword as the other did the same. But something surpising happened instead of skewering their intended target. Both of their blades collided with each other then next thing they know it she disappeared from their sights.
This left the two quite confused until suddenly in a siwft motion both their heads were smashed together with a loud crack being heard as they dropped down to the ground knocked out as emerald reappeared glancing toward her giving a thumps up as they quickly regrouped.
"So your little prison break is working pretty well gotta say you'd make a decent leader"emerald complimented but she scoffed.
"Well its something i needed to fill but once your over…were having another talk"eria coldy stated making her gulp nerouvsly.
Though suddenly from the side two bandits were thrown down on the ground next to them with black eyes or bruises on their face. Both glanced over to see something surprising that being zaff in the middle of a group of bandits right now with his son surpsignyl on his shoulders.
The large monk like man was grabbing and tossing bandits left ot right as his son was on his back ridding a mighty steed into battle. A bandit stirked at the man side as it barely phazed him as he cocked his fist back socking him hard in the jaw sending them to the dirt. Then he reeled his fist back uppercutting another bandit back sending them flying a bit away from him.
Two more rushed at him as they gave out a war cry trying to take down the large brute. But with ease as he ignored most hits from the others he grabbed both of them with his hands as they covered both their heads. Zaff lifted them up as he roared throwing one into four bandits knocking them down to the ground. Then he lifted the other one in the air before dropping him on his knee tossing him to the side as they held their side in immense pain. As he kept going through each of the bandits.
The two were honestly surprised by him being that brutal in a fight despite their previous discussion he seemed rather calm.
"Alright that guys is someone we don't ever wanna mess with glad hes on our side"emerald said in relief.
"Agreed"eria coldy said as she blocked a strike from a bandit before pushing them back reeling her bat up hitting them in the knees. Then she reeled it back before slugging them underneath their jaw with a loud crack being heard.
Along with that close by tock was slashing and striking each of her opponent with her cutlass along with using her semblance. That being as her skin shimmered a little as she got hit by a bandit but it bounced off her like nothing. The gator faunus semblance made her ivinsiable.
This was done with the use of her pocket watch as she had about sixty seconds when she activates it. Using her pocket watch was a great way to keep track of it. But she was in the process of spin kicking one of the bandits in the jaw sending them to the dirt. As she dodged another strike before side stepping them as she drove her blade into their leg piercing it imbolzing them as she backhanded them with her cutlass handle.
While bashira was close by using her semblance to take down any bandits that stood in her way as she swung her whiplike energy blades at a bandit. Then she coiled one energy beam around one before yanking hard sending them into a bunch of water barrels knocking them down.
Along with tossing some into their food supplies that they've stolen from the people here to dwindle their supplies right now. As she kept swinging through the place taking down bandits left and right relived that she can teach these scum a lesson. All of them were fighting right now until suddenly eria noticed something.
That being a few flares being shot up in the air catching her attention before looking toward the top of the wall. Mostly everyone fighting their stop at that moment as it caught others attention right now as some even stopped their own fights confused.
Tock noticed it too"Flares? What the heck is going on out their if their all fighting out their?"She questioned as she had a bandit in an headlock.
"I don't know….but i'm getting tired right now….because these guys won't let up"bashira said panting slightly deactivating her semblance. Until suddenly bursting in from the front gate of the camp was the bandit leader vernal along with shay by her side as the women noticed the current situation enraged right now but with what was declared it was fine. All of her bandits stared at her as the closest one stared at her.
"I..uh..ma'am…we ran into a problem the slaves decided to start a riot in the middle of our clash with the traditors"a bandit said as vernal scoffed before she grabbed a horn deicidng to announce something.
"All of you cease your fighting right now because an agnai kai was declared!"vernal shotued which confused some but the bandits along with the captive branwhen member stood their shock as sursprignly the bandits sheathed their weapons deciding to tend to their wounded as even the branwhen member sheatehd their weapons.
"Whats going on? Becuase i'm sure these guy would want to kill us after whats happened with their camp?"emerald asked confused
"Yeah because for starters what the heck is an agnai kai?"eria questioned confused before tock just went wide eyed at that declaration. Then she sheathed her weapons as a familair face stepped into camp that being dravan as the jackal noticed his niece still alive as he smiled.
"My niece your okay!"dravan shouted over catching her attention as a warm smile came to eria face as she rushed over jumping into his one arm hugging him happy hes here.
"Your here! Because i'm so happy you guys finally came to save us"eria cried in joy as a few of the captives here along with her group walked over as the jackal noticed the others surprised seeing tock here right now as he glared at her.
"Well…well…well if it isn't the traditor. Let me guess come here to gloat before rae girl beats the snot out of your boss"dravan growled which earned some confused looks from them.
"What are you talking about? Because i'm not the traditor in our tribe because i'm sure someone lied to you"tock corrected to his confusion
"What do you mean by that? Lee told us you betray–"he was stopped as bashira cleared her throat to gain his attention.
"Uhhh news flash that guys the traditor i'm pretty sure the others told you that. Since well he ambushed at that outpost we stopped at. "Bashira said making him go wide eyed before examining the them for a moment nodding as he guided them away from here to meet with some familiar faces.
Meanwhile in an open field right now yang was preparing herself to fight who would apparently be her ex aunt as vernal glared at yang with her weapons at the ready. Yang was a little nerouvs as this could really be a fight she coudln't win as she stared back yang almost like she was eyeing her prey.
"So you nervous blondie because right now you seem rather tense"lazuli pointed out
"Me nervous nah just well a little tired from that fight with the wendigo stil"yang replied
"I would be too though i'm still happy to see my teammate here right now. After were done here we can catch up on what you missed out"Weiss added before the girl eyed her friends tail
"Their also that tail of yours which is a surprise to see the schnee heriness with a wolf tail. "Yang pointed it out as the girl blsuhed slightly. Though as raven stood their she glanced close by seeing dravan walking over with someone familiar as she let out a sigh of relief.
"Its seems the others are safe right now along with two others…and tock"raven said catching some attention as mai growled walking over pointing her spear directly at her throat.
"What are you doing over here you traditor?"mai growled as tock seemed rather neoruvs right now but eria moved her spear away from her throat.
"Stop it because for starters she isn't the traditor in the camp or the spy"eria said to their confusion for a moment as raven thought for a moment before someone called out to their group.
"C'mon blondie i don't got all day you know"synin said impatient.
Yang gulped noeurvlsy as she walked out to meet her but a hand on her shoulder stopped her as her mother stared back at her.
"Watch out for her semblance and be careful she can disappear from sight for a moment"raven warned
"Alrigth I got this…wish me luck for teaching my ex aunt a lesson"yang joked before walking just acorss from vernal who had a cocky look on her face.
"You should;ve taken my offer yang. You'd have been a fine action to the tribe. After all you are a branwhen. Last chance like I offered you before when i captured you. Back out cause i promise you when we start this fight your not walking out of this"vernal warned trying to intimidate yang.
Yang took in a breath and let it out slowly to calm her nerves before getting into a fighters stance but this time it was more of a relaxed stance than any keeping her right foot back while putting her right hand into a fist and the other hand opened palemd.
Weiss, adam and the others watched for one of them to make the first move as the winds slightly blew over them as a single leaf fell from a tree. The leaf floated down while yang and ventral glared at each other almost testing one another to see who would make the first move. The leaf continued to float down before it finally touched the ground gently.
Without a warning yang blasted behind her giving herself a boost to speed toward vernal. The women only smirked as she easily side jumped the punch before swinging her weapon at her with the blade facing direclty at yang. The blonde barely dodged the attack but that left her open for anothe rattack from vernal as she started swinging at yang repeatedly. Yang dodged, ducked and side stepped but no matter what she did vernal continued to be persistent in her offense like she was trying to kill her.
Suddnely the moment yang dodged one of the attack vernal took the opportunity to kick yang in the gut knocking the wind out of her before attacking with her wapon again this time it connected with yangs now right side of her face as she felt around her right cheek. Almost immeialty she felt liquid and pulled her hand back and noticed her fingers had blood on them.
The women had maaged to cut through her aura and cut her cheek.
"What are you going to cry little girl?"vernal taunted. Though yang wasn;t going to fall for that as she learned the last time she fell for ataunt ending with her in the nurses office for a full day.
"Nope. just warming up"yang said
"Well lets step it up a notch!"vernal shouted pulling out her dual blades as she quickly loaded in some clips before loading in an extended magazine on it with glowing bullets in the clips that seem to be different types of dust bullets
She then pressed down on the trigger firing several rounds from the barrel. Yang barely dofged it but venral was once again on the offensive this time attackin from a distance instead of up close. However this time yang had decided to answer back with a barrage of her own punching the air firing shot after shot from ember ceila as each shot sailed or landed near vernal causing a small crater to form.
Vernal had stopp shotting as she dodged the attacks but she had another strategy. She touched the trigger of her weapons before switching a small handle on it before the barrels on it started to glow at that moment and then pointed her weapon at yang again
Raven saw this and knew that her aodptive sister switched to her other wapon mode"everyone take cover!"She warned as the rest of them found cover behind tress, trunks or rather large rocks.
"Try dodging these!"vernal shouted as she fired but it conitneud at an alarming rate almost like they were automatic weapons. Yang tried to dodge most of the bullet but some of them manged to hit their target damading her aura which was fueling her semblance. Yang tried to fire back but everytime she tried a shot from vernal made it impossible to counter attack.
"C'mon yang! You can do it just like we did in the vytal festival!"weiss cheered her teammate on but yang was having a difficult time dodging the bullets as some of them cipped away at her aura.
"You can't dodge them forever!"vernal shouted continuing firing her bullets at yang as one of them clipped the back of her left foot causing her to trip and fall the ground.
"Can't you do something. Yang is going to be slaughtered out their"emerald said turning to raven.
"I can't"raven replied to their confusion
"Why the heck not! Because if she gets merced out their then your daughters done"falk replied with concern.
Mai sighed rubbing her eyes"we can't get involved no one can. Once an agna kai has been declared were not allowed to interven at all until the fight is over"mai said before pausing for a second which they noticed.
"Let me guess their more to the fight for it to be declared the winter?"adam questioned knowingly before raven sighed heavily closing her eyes.
"The only way someone can win this is by yielding to their opponent or when one of them dies"raven said making them worried upon hearing that right now but she knew deep down that her daughter would be victioious in this fight. Vernal stopped shooting at yang which was a surrpise for all of them as vernal lowered her weapon.
"I'm giving you one more chance. Surrender or suffer?"vernal offered
Yang was breathing rather slowly trying to gather herself as she stood up but the pain from her left foot made it impossible to stand for a long as she was generally limping on it. Though despite the pain yang held strong as she glared at bernal.
"Sorry. No deal"yang replied
Vernal only sighed at this"then you leave me no choice. Shame, you would've made an excellent bandit. Now you;re as good as dead"vernal replied as she pointed her weapon at yang going for a kill shot. However yang smirked at this as she chuckled at vernal.
"Man…you really don't know that you've just been suckered in didn't you"yang said with a smirk on her face.
"And that would be what exactly?"vernal questioned again
"Try looking down"yang said pointing down. Vernal paused a moment and glanced down and noticed a small hand sixed object that looked like a bomb.
"While you were shootign at me i carefully placed bombs around the area. You were so concentrated on me that you didn't even noticed."yang smriekd with a flick of her wirst the bomsba activated and exploded causing a large smokescreen around the area comply blinding ventral and everyone else.
Vernal looked around to find yang but to noa vial.
"Show yourself!"vernal shouted
"With please!"yang called out behind vernal. She turned to try and shoot yang again but this time she didn't get the chance as yang was right in her face and her hair pulsed with energy as her eyes were red.
Vernal didn;t have time to react as yang delivered a powerfully punch but not at her instead yang aimed at the ground. Her punch connected with the ground causing it to shake destroying the ground beneath them blasting vernal uwpard making her lose grip on her weapon. Yang jumped upward getting above vernal and then delivered another punch to ventral sending her toward the ground taking a good dent on her aura.
Yang then fell down on top of vernal stomping on her chest. Vernal roared in pain as she felt a rib break from the young girls stomp. Yang then clenched her fist and teased it above her head like she was going to punc her.
"Yield"yang ordered
"Like hell i'll yield to you"vernal stated as she threw yang off her before getting up but the pain from her chest made it rather difficult for her to breath.
Yang got up quickly but still limped from her left foot
"Taking all those hits must have wastes alot of your aura. I don't want to hurt you but if you keep fighting you are going to get hurt or even worse"yang replied trying to reason with vernal.
"You don't have the guts to kill me. In this world its either kill or be killed. My sister and brother might have trianed you but i can tell that you're too soft against your opponent. That why you will lose"vernal replied
Yang readied herself as vernal charged at her while the others watched her hoping yang had a plan.
"Guess that leaves me no choice but to force her to quit"yang though and waited for vernal to get close. Vernal reeled back her right hand and threw it at yang as ahrd as she chould. However yang side stepped it but this time grabbed the right arm tossed her over her shoulder onto the ground.
Very quickly and in a swift motion yang grabbed her left hand with her own before passing her right hand over vernal head grabbing her wirst. She then placed her right foot to her side. Then got on the ground and wrapped her left leg over vernal belly. Yang then laided down on her shoulder passing her right leg over vernal head and began applying pressure for an armbar.
Ventral ebgan shouting in pain as she felt the pressure from yang trying to escape it was starting to become too much for her as she tried to endure it.
"Yield! Yield and i'll let go!"yang shotued at her trying to convince her to stop fighting.
SCREW YOU!"vernal roared back trying to fight it off. At that point yang had no chice as she continued to apply pressure to the arm until hearing a snap. Vernal roared in pain as yang let go of her and got up rather quickly and walked away from her.
Vernal got up but her left arm was rather awkward as it was broken.
"I've taken away one of your shooting arm. I suggest you give up now. I don't want to hurt you any further"yang replied
Vernal held her left arm as she stood up"you think i'm just going to give up that easily. I can still fight"vernal said as she grabbed one of her weapons holding it in her right hand.
"As long as i can still stand. I will not give up"vernal replied as she charged at yang again going in to try and kill her.
Yang had to put a stop to it as she narrowly dodged the strike but she kept moving backward trying to avoid vernal as she was coming up with a way to sotp her from hruting herself any further. That was when yang glanced back and saw a tree behind her and figured she could use that to her plan. Yang pressed against the the tree trunks.
"DIE!"vernal shotued as she thrusted her weapona t yang. Yang jumepd aside as her blade stuck into the wood of the tree. Taking advantage of this yang punched ther wrist hard causing her to loosen her grip on it realsing it as she lost her footing and fell the ground before yang delivered a powerful kick to vernal stomach making her fall to the ground but that also shattered her aura. Yang stood boave her with her weapons pointed at her.
"Now will you just give up. You're aura is broken and your arm is pulled out of socket. Don't make me hurt you any further auntie"yang insisted
Vernal figured out her options. Her left arm was broken and out of socket, her aura was shattered, her fist weapon is out of reach, and her other is stuck in a tree. With a frustrating sigh vernal had no choice but to give in.
"I…yield"vernal said as yang lowered her weapons and the branwhen tribe member cheered for the victory as she moved away from ventral as just in time shay and the rest of the bandits rushed to her aid.
Vern! Are you alright?!"shay called out heading toward her.
"Do i look alright to you"vernal stated with a growl
"Dammit! Alright screw the agna kai these traditor gotta pa–"he was stopped by vernal.
"No! She won the agna kai fair and square…i lost"vernal replied making him pause for a moment.
"You lost…but what does that mean now"shay asked
"I didn't just lose to raven…but to her daughter. I'm guessing your wagering something since you won because if I did i would get control of the tribe the proper way we run things"Vernal stated
"seriously! so were just going to let them go and stop this dam war!"shay said
'Uncortunaly…yes…what do you want in exchange?"vernal asked her niece as she hummed slightly.
"For starters we want all your captives you have along with that any slaves you have here."then she paused glancing at the bandits before she limped over to a dencetly sized rock getting ontop of it facing them.
"Along with that i'm also giving you the option to redeem yourself! You can tell whos the stronger one here that being our tribe not yours that consist of theifs and bandits. I know their has to be a few of you in this crowd who only joined up to protect your own skins and hide"yang begun her small speech as they listened to her intently.
"But right now i'm giving you the option to return back to how we run things now. Do that and my mom might be easy on yoru punishment. Because seriously I just killed a very old grimm which proves who has the stronger tribe so who wants to join us where we protect people earning a name for ourselves across our world. Or would you rather be infamous scum where no matter where you go you have to look behind your back"she finished her speech
As no one stood up for a bit until suddenly some of the bandits stepped forward tearing off the patches they had aligning them to vernal side. To her shock some of them walked over joining their actually tribe before raven faced her adoptive sister down with a smirk.
"We'll be leaving now with your captives and this war is over. If i ever find you near our camp again you'll regret it. You have three days to move out of here or else we'll come back"Raven ordered as shay and vernal got to their feet as he wrapped her good arm around his neck before walking away from yang nad the others.
Yang walked over limping with her foot before midney wrapped her arm around her to give her some support as several people congratulate them on their victory.
"Nice going their i knew that my niece was one tough blonde"mai said tapping her on the shoulder
"Yes i can agree because its very nice to see you teach her a lesson for all the trouble she caused in the last month"vlad added smiling as raven had a proud look for her daughter before embracing her tight with a calm expression as yang returned it the best she can.
"I've been worried sick about your dear although where is my brother along with your little sister"raven asked before yang and emerald with bashria eyed each. The three quickly went into a brief explanation explaining how qrow and the others were going to meet them here and that they were sent as messagers to warn them of the attack on haven academy.
This caught them by surprise as they began walking back with some of the ex bandits being surrudned just incase as the captives where all happy to be free of the nightmares they just survived.
"So your telling us your uncle sent you here as messenger for the attack on haven?"falk asked surprised
"He did look because right now we can catch up on what we've missed out. But we need to head back to camp and deal with the traditor"yang stated earning some looks as mai eyed down tock for a moment.
"But…uncle lee said she was the traditor"mai stated confused before they dropped the harsh truth.
"No she isn't that jerk cut down the tree trunk we were on sending us down below to the river. He also shot jay over here in the gut with an arrow"lazuli corrected to their shock as immediately they began to walk back to camp. It was a rather long walk as a few minutes ago lee was gathering them all up in the middle of the camp right now making an announcement it seems to some other confusion as they mumruer as verona was front and center with ryuu and lilu next to her as she left luna with charlie for now.
"Lee what is the meaning of this because we need to prepare for when the others come back"ryuu stated confused
"Yeah hes right because what are you talking about that we should just prepare for the new leader"verona asked with a narrowed gaze as he sighed
"Look we might not win this war and for all we know…sorry to say this but rae might have lost. We need to prepare for when those other bandits arrives and maybe hope they accept us by pleding our loyalty to vernal"lee said to their abosultyl shock making several tribe member murmur at that moment as verona eyed him down keeping a steady hand near her weapon.
"Are you isanne?! Their is no way that raven lost that fight because news flash vern isn't my sister anymore"synin voiced her objection.
"Shes right because why are you suddenly on her side?"verona asked stepping forward as before he could answer he saw the gate opening at that very moment as he grinned hoping that his friends would arrive to convince them. But instead of vernal in stepped raven to his shock along with several others that he thought he killed.
Verona immediately noticed them sighing in relief rushing over before pulling her niece into an embrace as her head was shoved into her bust.
"Oh thank god your okay! For a second their i though that psycho hurt you"verona cried in joy as eria returned the embrace happy to see her aunt again. Though immediately raven made a bee line for lee as he slowly backed up as she glared at him.
"Rae…i…i knew you guys could do it and you uh found lilu son"lee said making the women turn around to see her son as she smiled in joy rushing over hugging him close like a mother.
"Oh my baby your okay…your okay"lilu cried in joy as he winced from the gut wound but returned it but glared directly at lee who noticed this. Then lazuli stepped forward aiming her weapon at him along with a few others including a few of his tribe warriors to some confusion.
"Kid what are you doing right now because hes on our side"ryuu said confused before lazuli decided to reveal something.
"No hes the traditor and spy in the camp. He dropped me, tarrus along with having someone shoot jay over here in the gut. Then he let eria get taken by bandits…he planned for us to be taken by them or killed to make things eaiser"lazuli started making all of the tribe memebr on raven side eye the man and his group down with glares as yang stepped forward growling to his shock that she was alive.
"You ambushed us at that outpost then handed me and the others off to my ex aunt! You punched me in the back of the head you jerk!"yang shouted as her eyes flicked crimson as tock walked over shoving him back bringing her cutlass to his throat.
"You literally stabbed me in the back you traditor"tock growled in anger as the man wiehged his options before he suddenly grabbed the closest person that being alysoha who wanted to see her older brother before he pressed a knife to her throat.
"Back up or i gut this little brat where she stands!"lee ordered as they all backed up as the little girl struggled in his grip as raven eyed him down with pure malice that her old friend would betray her after everything they've been through.
"So…your showing your true colors after all these years. All this time we've known each other your willing to betray our tribe and for what? Do you even care that melissa was tortured and killed you traditor!"raven shotued with hate as he shook his head.
"Oh i'm very upset about meli death thats not a lie…but that thing wasn't normal. None of those freaks are word is verona that your niece knew the one who caused the fall. Luckily that thing is dead because it would have been interesting to gut one of those monster even if it was my old friend"lee said with a wicked grinn as eria growlwed slightly at him freezing her bat over as they were all now at a stand still at that moment as mai had one question
"Why did you even betray out tribe? You were like an uncle to me"mai said with a hurt look as he rolled his eyes.
"I was trying to keep how we run things for our tribe! The same way we've ran it for years until rae got soft! Saying we should protect people thats just being a coward because now your going to let me go and–"he stopped as alsyha bite his hand hard making him drop her as immediately they got into a brawl. All of them tried to capture lee and his fellow traditors as imemdialty he fled to the nearby woods.
"I got him!"lazuli called out using her semblance to chase after him as adam looked at her rather worried right now hoping she'll be alright.
Lee was running through the woods like a madman trying to escape his pursuers as hot on his trail was lazuli. The two were vaulting over fallen trees to avoid any unnecessary hazard along the way. But lazuli kept using her semblance to try and catch up to him as she soon got her chance.
Within a split second she charged foward tackling him down a steep hill. The two began to tumble down the hill several times as their aura tokk the hits. But soon after a few minutes the two soon landed at the bottom. They were now at a long stream with some rocks close by. Lazuli panted slightly as immediately lee got up.
"You couldn't just had to meddle in our affairs! Now i'm unable to bring our tribe back to what it was suppose to be!"lee roared as he swung his hatchet at her several time but she dodged out of the way as he buried it into a tree.
"When it concerns my friends it gonna be my business."lazuli growled as she lunged with her saber at him several times trying to break through his defenses. She got an uppderhand by upwarding slashing him taking a large chunk of his aura. But the man was giving up as he roared advancing on the girl.
"You think i care about your dam friends! That daughter of rae will be dead and she'll have no heir!"lee shouting as he began to deliver several blows to her. Lazuli kept trying to hold out strong but with her aura running low she was becoming exhausted.
"Then theirs those two heirs! The quicker we deal with you the faster we can get paid for ransoming them off! I know who you are girl your that dam thief swan!"lee shouted as he then slashed at lazuli forcing her to block the attack but that gave him the perfect opening for him to kick her in the stomach. It stunned her momentarily knocking the wind out her and a good amount of her aura. He then swung one more time in an upward slash sending laziili flying backwards into a tree hard. Lazuli fell to her knees coughing quickly getting air in her lungs. But she dug her sword into the ground as leverage picking herself up.
"Oh come now what happened with all that spunk you had early. You going soft or did falling into that river break you?"lee grinned malcisouly.
"Hows this for an answer"lazulig rowled acitivating her semblance as she spritned forward in a blue blur. Then she began to deal several strikes at him with several rpid slash. He tired to keep his defnese up but she kept getting through them.
Soon enough he jumped back to escape her but then a whistling sound could be heard. Then he felt something cold wrapp around his right ankle seeing his foot trapped in ice. Lazuli then rushed forward firing a couple explosive bolts as it hit its target. It sent lee back as his aura finally shattered. Lazuli sat their panting as she quickly pulled her scroll out seeing she had ten percent left.
"You…got no aura now. I suggest you surrender…maybe raven will pity you since you were friends"lazuli suggested even thought she was running out of aura herself.
Though what she wasn't expecting was that lee just moved before looking at lazuli with an evil intent.
"I don't care if i got an aura or not"lee said before going into a full on sprint at her.
"I'LL KILL YOU!"lee roared as he body chekced her into the shallow stream before she could block it. Lazuli landed hard hitting some rocks as she splashed into the water. She tried to pick herself up but then lee got ontop her. Then he dunked her head underwater with an evil look.
"No..no..let go..dammit…i..i can't breath"lazuli thought as she could feel herself losing air. Along with her aura running low, quickly she managed to punch lee in his side as he roared in pain.
Quickly lazuli gasped for air but the man quickly reocvered showing her head back underwater. Lee had a murderous intent as he began to laugh like a madman.
"If i can't kill rae! I might as well kill one of you one less loose end!"lee shotued laughing as it was barely audible but she heard it. It just made her think about the people who tricked her family then got rid of them when they ran out of use.
"What do i do…i..i can feel myself losing air. My aura almost gone i don't wanna die"lazuli thought with a look of fear. But then she thought of what adam told her before.
"In a situation that seems uanvaoible that its either kill or be killed then you may need to make that choice to take a life. It'll be painful"adam thoughts came throught her.
She didn't wanna do it because she didn't want anyone blood on her hands. But she had no choice she could feel the air slipping away as she opened her mouth as water rushed in.
So she had no choice as she felt around lee side who grinned like a madman keeping her under. But after a bit of searching she found something tearing it off him."i'm sorry but you leave me no choice. Please forgive me. But i hope you find peace in the afterlife. Say hi to my cousin and dad for me" lazuli thought as in her hands was a hunting knife. Quickly she stabbed lee in the side making him roar in pain letting her up.
Quickly lazuli sat up gasping for air coughing up some water but looked at lee who glared at her. He roared lunging at her with a murderous intent but she lunged forward as drove the knife into his neck. Lee paused for a moment like nothing happened at first as he soon began to choke on the blood. Then he fell backwards into the stream as she stood over him shaking.
The neck wound from him soon seeped blood staining the persitane river water in crimson red blood. Lazuli with her better jugdment look at the body of lee as she looked at her hands. She could see blood staining it as she tried washing it off in the stream. If came off but she could still feel it their. She immediately regretted it as she felt something unpleasant rise up from her stomach as she turned away and vomited anything that was in her stomach.
After a couple minutes pass as lazuli reocvered from her vomits she didn't wanna look what she did. But she began to mentally break down as she walked over to a nearby tree sliding down. Immediately she began to hug herself crying at what she just did.
"I..i..i didn't wanna kill him…why didn't you stop…i'm sorry…i'm so sorry"lazuli cried balling up sobbing to herself at what she just did.
But close behind in the woods some others were trying to catch up with her. They were trying to make sure she didn't die
"Dang can't believe feathers went after that guy by himself"falk said with his machine pistol out.
"Heh well kids got some stones. Lees one tough bastard as kids hes a brute i'll tell you"verona replied with her sniper out.
Raven dashed forward with omen at the ready"lets hope he didn't injury her or kill her. You and her barely recovered from your fight with the wendigo"she said looking at adam. Which made him worry if the girl was alright.
"I know. I just hope she okay right now rather not lose another ally"adam replied but mai and falk eyed each other for a moment chcukling. They knew how he looks at her at times.
Though as they kept running soon a pungent smell filled weiss nositril as she began to gag a little. It smelled like something died as she pluged her nose wafting the air.
"I'm still not used to this but it…smells like something died upahead"weiss said which just worried them immediately. Quickly they began to sprint forward with some tribemembers close behind them. Evetnaully after five minutes of following the smell they soon found it.
But all them just stood their looking in shock right now, because all of them noticed immediately lees dead bodie in the stream. Near the tree lazuli just kept crying her eyes out sobbing uncontrollable right now.
Falk just shook slightly before rushing over to her side"feathers…i..i..what happen…are you okay?"falk asked scared right now.
Weiss gasped loudly as she turned away from the body gagging as she expelled her guts from the sight and stench. Verona just stared in shock right now walking over seeing the knife drove into his neck. Raven stood by her glancing at lazuli only imagining what she going through.
Mai rushed over trying to get her to talk while the tribemember began to pick his body up.
"Kid come on talk to us. You had no choice….just say something"mai asked as soon she found her voice again but just said something heartbreaking.
"I..i..i didn't wanna kill him…why didn't he stop…i couldn't breath…i'm sorry…i'm sorry"lazuli said as her voice sounded horased as it kept cracking. Falk just looked devastated as tears came to his eyes hugging her. Raven just stared at her with worry assuming she had no choice. Soon enough they decided to walk back to the camp as lazuli suffered some injuries from her fall. But adam coudln't help but be very worried for her right now.
It seems that lee was found out as the spy but lazuli just crossed one line that she may not be able to come back from ever again. Which pains the girl as adam is very concerned for her now. Thanks for reading!
