Chapter 52:Leaving Grimm Central
Across the way right now the others were traveling across the city right now as they traveld through the down the destroyed city right now with some resistance right now. As ophelia was shield bashing a boartusk back to created som e distance. Then she pulled her tanto out rushing forward digging her blade into its stomach as it dissolved into dust.
With earl he brought out both of his shotgun pistol as he began to rush a group grimm with faba right now as he shot one stunning then blasted one head clean off its shoulders. While faba pulled out his minigun as it spooled up its barrels as he delivered a hail of lead into five grimm shredding them into pieces as they dispepared into nothing but dust now.
May had a comfy spot alongside leon as the two snipers were providing covering fire to the group as someone else was with them.
That being a tall women with long, thick dark gold hair with some white highlights in it that reaches the middle of her back with light gold eyes to match. She is currently wearing a pair of black jeans with a brown long sleeve shirt with a midriff to show off her stomach as it had a v-neck showing a bit of clevage. She is wearing a pair of black running shoe. Around her neck was a silver chain necklace. Through surprising is that its open on her back to reveal a pair of brown and white eagle wings that are currently folded inward.
In her hands was a silenced marksmenrifle at the ready, this was the stealth and security teacher.
May had her beanie lifted up zeroing in on one thing right now that being cardin who was struggling with a grimm. As his mace was in between its jaws trying to take a piece of him right now. But she exhaled steadying her breathing as she pressed down on the trigger.
A purple beam went flying as it soon reached its intended target piercing its skull killing it on impact. As it turned to dust cardin gave a thumbs up as she nodded. With jaki he was sliding around on the pavement creating a path of ice as he touched it with his hands. Him and mulberry were tag teamming an uras right now.
Mulberry rushed forward with his battle hammer as he rammed it into the uras gut stunning it but the beast roared in anger swiping at him. But he blocked it with his hammer pole as he grunted slightly as it pushed him back as he planted his feet steadying himself. Then the man rushed forward as the grimm saw this swiping at him but then someone yelled something.
"Stay!"marrow yelled pointing at the grimm stunning it freezing it in place which what he wanted. As close by jaki ran up some destroyed debris as he lunged forward as he reeled his axe back bringing it down on the beast neck, then he rolled reocvering on his feet.
The grimm behind him soon started to disappear into dust at that moment vaisnihing to the winds. As mulberry smiled at him tapping him on the shoulder.
"Just like old times eh old friend?"mulberry said
Jaki chuckled slightly"agree though without my teammates or yours"he replied as they continued with the fight. With velvet she had a copy of two very similar revolvers that being malice. As she dahsed foward with the revolvers firing them off shooting herself foward with a gravity dust round. The grimm lunged at her trying to gobble up its prey but missed.
What it didn't expect was the rabbit to raise both revolvers under its chin before blasting its head clean off. It started to disappear into dust as they all started to regroup after finshining off the grimm.
"Everyone okay? None of you are broken yah?"the eagle faunus asked
"Nope miss greene were alright thank you for asking"Velvet said sweetly.
The women laughed"Dear call me ann you don't need to be so modest"she replied introducing herself as ann.
"Oh um sorry..wait..no..i..uh..i..never mind"Velvet replied as her ears flopped slightly.
Jaki laughed slightly as they walked"god you are will daughter. I remember him being a stuttering mess when i met him a long time ago"he said peeking her interest wondering how he knew her father. He might have worked on project with him in the past.
"Heh your not wrong about that hayley, seriously i can see him but instead with rabbit ear. And being a girl"mulberry joked
"Did you two know my dad back then?"velvet curiously asked as the two weapon smiths eyed each other for a moment deciding to talk about that to pass the time.
"Oh yeah i recall back during the festival. I saw you guys hanging out with him for a while"cardin recalled missing those days right now.
"Well we were actually friends before we both went into our respective carries. If i recall we met at an expo at the time that went on in atlas"jaki recalled that day like it was yesterday. He remembered seeing him and mulberry teams winning tickets to the expo to both their teams annoyance.
Mainly because both of them despite their looks were very interested in atlas hardware and weapons. Which his adoptive brother made fun of him for while his partner and now wife listened intently. Kali was just off doing her own thing since she never found it to be interesting. But he recalled running into a skinny man who was doing one thing eyeing a bunny faunus staff member.
"You know if i recall that when he also met meg at the time right?"mulberry asked which peeked velvet interest immnsiouly right now.
"Wait your telling us you two met him when he met her mom?"may asked placing her sniper on her shoulders.
Ann chuckled slightly"you two told me this. If you don't believe it me and your mother actually used to know each other back then"she replied
"Really?"velvet asked as her ears twitched.
Ann hummed slightly"yep i was their that day testing some security systems for my mentor at the time. Though i recall her trying her best to do explain the dumb gizmo we made. It was a tripwire system if i recall"she begun trying to recall what happened next.
Jaki continued"but at the time we knew about his reputation about being a bright mind and engineer. We greeted him and talked for a bit until my wife noticed him eyeing her. Then convinced us to help that random man talk to her. She forced your father all red face to talk to her"he continued sighing slightly tiwlring his axe with one hand.
"But after that i heard they started to get to know each other and then well your here which finishes that chapter"jaki finished as velvet found that a little sweet right now hearing that. Kinda reminded her of how she asked coco out. She asked cardin and yumi for help which they did by setting up a meet up to discuss it. But she saw coco and they canceled on them which left the two alone.
Until she asked that question, when she said yes it was the best thing to ever happen.
"Aww cute, maybe i can get someone back in vacuo. Maybe even those ingrams chicks"earl said as may yanked his tail slightly as he yipped rubbing it.
opehlia chuckled"uhh from what i heard last time you tried that they almost shot you. Seriously finding bounty hunters attractive"she teased making him grumble to himself.
"Their also the older sister of yahto."cardin added peeking marrow interest a little recalling that guy.
"Wait that guy that went in the cargo truck with that cat and wolf chick. Along with the mute"marrow asked as jaki nodded recalling that.
"That would be them though if you like to know their safe and sound in menagerie. For now it seems"jaki replied as they walked for a bit until marrow thought about something on will scarltina for a moment as it hit him.
"Oh right you know what i forgot. Your dad helped make penny"marrow suddenly said to their confusion
"Wait that robot chick? He helped make her, huh never expected that"leon replied keeping his pistol out on guard and at the ready. But faba recalled something about that girl for a moment deep in thought which cardin noticed.
"Something up you wanna share something with us or what?"cardin questioned
Faba waved his hand"nothing just that wasn't that pietros daughter name or whatever?"he asked as jaki thought for a moment until it hit him like a freight train. That his old mentor and friend had a daughter named penny who was….human.
"Wait…my mentor, he did have a daughter by the same name. But she was…flesh and blood not a robot"jaki said in shock right now as they all were piercing it together real quick. But cardin just felt hurt right now if his friends hears she was human he'll feel alot of guilt for actually killing someone.
"Wait..i..he…he actually killed someone? Oh no"velvet said hugging herself with worrie
"So wait your telling us that grimm guy back in the camp….actually killed someone. Like stabbed her and she blegh"earl said making a motion hanging his neck with a noose. But marrow looked at them all very weird deciding to bring up clarity on that.
"You know i shouldn't say this…but she actually alive back in atlas right now"marrow said making them sigh in relief right now hearing that. Which made them wonder how extalcty before they could question any further leon noticed something ahead.
"Hey cut the chatter where here….beacon academy"leon announced as they looked up at what layed before them. That being the once proud beacon academy for huntsman and huntreseses now laying in ruins. As the once grand tower towering above the school was smashed with nevermore and griffions circling the top of the tower that once belong to the cloud above it were dark and menacing as they could feel the tense atmosphere around it right now.
"I..i never expected to be back here again"cardin said in shock at the state it was in.
Ann sighed crossing her arms as her wings twitched"same here kid. Seriously us teachers put alot of good work into this place over the years"she added
"Yeah lets just hope that shade never has this happen. Seriously hearing that havan is the next one makes sense. But still i wouldn't wish this on anyone'opehlia commented
Mulberry scoffed slightly"Atleast atlas high and mighty military is back home, your all safe and sound their with your floating city"he voice his opinion to the atelsian within their midst as the wolf frowned slightly at him.
"Come on we got our own fair share of problems back in atlas just like everyone else"marrow argued which didn't really help his kingdom at all.
"Oh really? You guys literally live the lavish livestyle their seriously you must live in a big fancy apartment"earl pointed out as his tail flicked to the side. This made the wolf laugh slightly at that as his tail swayed around for a moment. This went on for a moment until he caught his composure
"Whats so funny?"may questioned glaring her one eye.
"Nothing…nothing…i live in an apartment with three other guys. And we do have our problems why do you think were even here since we closed our borders?"marrow asked which got them thinking as they were walking to the the gondola station to see if they could get up that way. They all guess to to protect their kingdom.
"To protect your kingdom and check up the troops you left here?"leon asked
"Your half right try us just wanting to get rid of two grimm knights. With one being spotted within our borders"marrow answered surprising them to hear that why they were here.
"So thats why your here and to drop that trunk off. Make sense guess we know where another one is"cardin added as they got to the gondola station right now. It looked decrepit like no one been their for years now as ann walked into the control station with jaki. Once inside they noticed immediately the problem now that being the controls where smashed in with slash marks on it.
"So whats the situation can we take the gonola to get their because we'll be walking for a long time"leon asked as ann sighed rubbing her eyes.
"Bad news its busted, either we walk which will take about four hours or we call it quits. Sorry kid"ann said to velvet who looked down upset hearing that. Faba noticed that deciding to do his niece a favor to make her girl happy.
"Don't worry i got this because i got us an express way to the place"faba said placing his minigun on his back.
"How you gonna do that?"cardin questioned as they watched the old man getting in a meditative positon. Then he inhaled deep before exhaling out a few times as his semblance activities. That being as it triggered his body started to become coated in a light brown trasnculscent astral form it seemed as it took shape of a muscular body. It towered over them right now probably standing at maybe twenty feet high. Earl tail drooped to the ground shocked right now.
"Holy cow he turned into a giant…cool!"earl shouted but was shuhsed as he slinked down laughing.
"Alright thats impressive for a semblance no woner he earned the name the juggernaut in the military"marrow said as velvet recalled coco talking about her uncle's semblance. It allows him to create an astral porjection form which gives him enhanced strength along with that he needs to remain calm for it work.
The astral projection opened its open gesturing for them to step on as all of them managed to squeeze their way on. Then cupping its hands it began to sprint toward the once proud school.
It took them about an hour which cut their time down in half as they soon reached the school front entrance now as it layed in complete ruin. With the once fine craved structures destroyed turned into rubble right now. As they got their faba set them down before it started shrinking in size as the man gasped panting for air right now.
"You good old timer?"leon asked as the man caught his breath pounding his chest.
"Yeah…dam…forgot that things uses almost thirty percent of my aura when i activated it"faba replied
"Well since where here where our first stop exactly it better not be over their"opehlia said pointing toward the headmaster office because despite being far away it was surrounded by a swarm of nevermore and griffions circling it like some sort of nest right now.
"We aint going over their anytime kid. Let head to the dorms that will be our only stop. Your lucky its very close to the lunch room and the entrance. We'll be out before they find us but be quiet"mulberry warned as they nodded in agreement.
Following close behind the weapon innstructor they began to sneak their way through their academy their curfew being the grimm in the area. Their was a few in the area but keeping their emotion in check as they sthetily made their way through the campus.
Eventually they soon ended up at the dorms after twenty minutes as the beacon students stared at their former dwelling right now feeling a little hurt to be here after so long. Ann was at the door as she produced a lockpick placing it in the door lock. As leon pressed his ear against the door to listen for her.
"Alright move a little to the right"leon said as she did that with a click being heard. Then she started to go to the left as he heard another click giving her a thumbs up.
"One more then where in and out just like that"leon whsipered. Ann kept going around for a bit more moving her tools around for a bit until it found the sweet spot, it clicked telling them it was open.
"Open sesame now lets go. Remember don't carry too much we got about another few hours till nightfall alright"ann warned as they nodded walking inside the old dorms.
Once they were inside both velvet and cardin felt a wave of nostalgia wash over them right now. Because they were back in the place they used to call home as cardin walked through the halls grazing his hand on the wall. It looked dusty and adaboned right now as a light flickered down the hall for a moment until it died creating darkness. But luckily mulberry brought a hig power flashlight lighting the entire place up like a lighthouse signal.
"Alright so where was you two dorms again?"mulberry asked
"Yeah because compared to shades dorms yours in pretty normal looking. Our kinda look like they craved straight out of the sand"may pointed out peering into an abandon room that being team CRMN room which cardin noticed recalling someone being on that team neo.
"Wait hold up where at team CRMN old room"cardin commented as jaki growled slightly hearing that name it seems. Which confused them for a moment.
"Whats up your butt snowman?"marrow sarcasitcally asked
Jaki gave him a glare making him flinch"oh nothing its just that my daughter boyfriend team. The one who dragged her along to kill people. I swear next time i see him or that sustari girl i'm ringing both of their necks. Then creating a device to punish them for what they did…if…if my..little girl is dead..be.."he couldn't find the words right now choking on that thinking about what if she was dead actually.
Mulberry noitced his plee wrapping his arm around his friends shoulder"look don't think like that i'm sure your daughter alright. She a tough girl like you"he reassured
"Yeah i believe in her too, i may have…posioned her"cardin sheepsuhly said earning weird looks from them.
"Why the heck did you posion her kid?"faba asked glaring slightly before velvet stepped infront of him protecting him surprisingly despite him messing with her long ago.
"Its alright he learned his lesson. Look he actually regretted all the things he did to us me…included seriously you almost tore my ears off"velvet snarky said
"Well i helped you ask those two out which makes up for it right?"he asked as she nodded
"You were pretty bad back in the day from what i heard kiddio"ann added
Cardin rubbed his neck looking down recalling his previous behavior finding it disgsuting now. Because now he was starting to think faunus weren't the ones that killed his dad, maybe some assassins or something.
"Yeah you got that right seriously i messed with her entire team. Blackmailed that wolf chick thinking she was some terrorist but was looking out for her brother. Then i ummm…"he paused looking at marrow who gave him that look.
"What did you do to the kid?"he asked as his tail thrashed slightly
Cardin groaned"i bashed him in the head pretty bad…but i made up for it finding a very good lead on finding his family. Funny enough…me, him and jaune became close friends during the break"he replied smiling saying that.
"I already know about the posion incident which i've forgiven you for since you helped my daughter calm down. When she freaked out about my brother being gone…those two were very close"jaki replied sadly recalling his daughter mentioning this but quickly reasrued him it was fine.
"Heh funny though you think anyone might want something from here?"ophelia softly asked as velvet walked inside rummaging around for a moment. Then eventually she found something walking out with a couple picture frames. The first being neo with two siblings posing with each other with their father roman torchwich smiling with his signature bowler hat.
"funny that girl did seem like a thief. Seriously she aced my class like nothing"ann commented as they eyed the second. That being a picture of cinder with her mother amber infront of her orphanage she used to own back in vacuo.
"Huh shorty might like those buts let take some stops at our gather anything that we could…send to their graves"cardin commented upset being here now. They all agreed to spread around to certain dorm rooms to grab things of people they lost. Faba made a list before they left of dead beacon students just incase they made it here. They spent an entire hour in the dorms searching around the place for anything that might be useful or a memento for anyone they lost.
Velvet was in her room picking up the team photo they had long ago when they attended shade academy holding it close. Showing her partner yatsu with a small smile in the background since he was so tall. With fox with a bored expression as coco was blowing a kiss to the camera as she held her camera smiling right now. While cardin retrieved a photo of him and his teammates all with an arm wrapped around each other smiling as he just wished all three of them were back right now.
After that they filled their packs with what they could exiting the dorms before they had a moment of silence pass. Leon suddenly brought out a candle before he layed it infront of the dorms lighting it with a match blowing it out.
"To honot those we lost, these kids fought like any true huntsman and huntresses in my opinion"leon proudly said to them.
"They where it still pains me sometime that little pyrrha is gone. Thetis misses her dearly"jaki said as they began to walk back to the main entrance to leave. But as they were walking may spotted something that shimmer close by as she quietly ran over picking it up as they noticed her holding something.
"Hey kid what are you doing remember their are grimm around here everywhere"marrow quietly reminded. But then she turned to them holding something familiar to one of them fulcrum with the blade snapped off as velvet went wide eyed as may dragged it over with all her might.
"This…this is yatsu…why would he be at the dorms?'velvet questioned
"I don't know but hey deadeye…this might be a month old think your could."may said as leon sighed nodding walking over. He picked it up feeling a bit of residue left over as he channeled his semblance until suddenly several ghostly figures appeared to them. Two of which made velvet smile a little that being her two teammates she lost long ago yatsu and fox. But right now the two where with three others as they were guiding students out from the dorms as screaming could be heard along with grimm howls being heard in the distant
"Come on this way, get to the evac point!"a huntsman shouted as he slashed a grimm in half with a sword as it disappeared. Yatsu stood their like a protector bashing a grimm back bringing fulcrum up bringing it down upon the grimm but looked very tired panting heavily.
As fox dashed foward leg sweeped a grimm then raised his leg axe kicking it in the skull cracking it killing it. Then he pulled out his tonfa as he began to stab into a grimm as it snarled swiping at him several times seeming to chip at his aura. But this was making marrow confused for a moment glancing around the place for a moment.
"Hey that report said that kid broke his neck right?"marrow asked as they stared at him
"Umm yeah so what kinda rude to do this right now wolf"ann pointed out as her wings twitched
Marrow tail swayed for a moment"i'm going to sound crazy but…those grimm aint uras their just beowulf. They may be strong enough to smack someone into a wall. But.."he stopped before in the appertian yatsu called out to someone it seems.
"You two! Your responsible for this!"he yelled to their confusion as in the vision velvet eye sank into her skull. As it showed two familiar people scar watts and rosemary kuchisake. The five huntsman in training looked heavily exhausted but got ready to fight the two down. Because the two were in offensive stances right now as they stayed silent at that moment.
Jaki saw the girl who took his daughter leg as she began to laugh manically sending shiver down their spines.
"What? Us? Aww don't be so mad…its not like we cared about this place. Seriously i'm happy to be slaughtering you annoying pest"rosmeary creepily said
Fox huffed panting shifting his feet"i had you two peg and those other two since day one. You never sat right with me"he stated as scar laughed as he cracked his robotic hands branidhsing his brass knuckles.
"Just doing what pleases my father. One loose end already been killed…might as well kill you five annoyances"scar said as none of them like what might be happening next. As it then showed the five beginning to attack the two. But rosemary slaughter the three huntsman attacking her as she hacked and slices one of them apart with an eerie smile like she was enjoying it. As she blasted one of their heads off then for the last one she blasted both their knees out as they screamed in pain. But then she stuck her shotgun barrel in their mouth blowing it clean off.
Earl began to gag puking onto the ground coughing for a moment wiping his mouth.
"Thats not right"he said coughing right now. Opehlia looked away in disgust right now as ann clenched her fist in rage seeing students killed so easily by this girl. But velvet watched in horror as scar blocked each of fox attacks as he knee him in the gut, then in a swift motion snapped his neck as she yelped with tears beginning to stream down her face.
"No…no..no"velvet said several times as faba looked at leon to end it as he nodded. But before he did cardin watched as scar dodged yatsu sword slash as he blocked it with his metal arms snapping his sword in half. Then picked up the broken blade jamming it in his heart killing him dead. Once it was over velvet was sobbing right now as mulberry consoled her.
"Lets…lets get back to camp"marrow suggested as they began to the long walk back
Meanwhile back at camp early about an hour at best was zane who was sound asleep in a medical tent right now. But as he layed their he felt someone nudging him awake right now as he groaned sitting up rubbing his head for a moment.
"Ughhh five more minutes mom"he groaned
"I'm not your mom kid more like your guard at times"hariett spoke up as he collected himself for a moment seeing him in a different tent right now. Alot more spacious than the rest of them with a cot along with a personal table even a trunk for storage.
"Finally your awake, seriously we were starting to get worried for you kid"miller said as he sat up cracking his back.
"Though if your wondering where you are your in my tent right now. I'm sure it might be better htan waking up in that medical tent."glynda mentioned to him
"No wonder it seemed so organize….though guess you saw what i can control now eh girlscout"zane replied as in the room with them was port, along with carmine with merlot their in the process of showing decker one thing. The dossier as the man was quite shocked on what he was reading right now.
"Hot dam this is a gold mind of intel right here. We got intel on half of them right now this will be very beneficial doc."decker said impressed right now.
"Their the only one i managed to snag from my secret stash in the facility i was previously held in. Though from what i was told you can control that monster grimm form of yours"merlot said surprised right now
"You mean that freaky looking form making him look like a grimm. Seriously that looks like it does some major damage"vance replied excited about that because they got a trump card now.
"Yes it was qutie strange, what was stranger was the mixture of different grimm from the look of it. I couldn't even tell which grimm was what since it looked like a mixture of several of them"port admitted unable to identify each one himself it seems.
As infront of him was a list of grimm he made that being beowulf, sobek, teryx, uras for some reason, along with just several of saying possible because it was a wide list of grimm the man knew of.
Merlot chuckled slightly"well we could never figure out what to dub you as a grimm hybrid. Even arthur that devil coduln't even come up with a name"he added with a grin
"How is that something to be proud of?"fenix questioned as the doctor thought for a moment shrugging his shoulder.
"Yeah though….whoa"zane said trying to stand up before loosing his footing for a moment falling forward. But luckily nezumi caught him as his legs felt like jelly right now, then she hoisted him up as he regained his footing.
"You good over their because you look pretty exhausted kid"miller said gesutring to the bag under his eyes right now. But for some reason he didn't feel tired but more like a piece of him was taken away from him.
"Although you've been sleeping alot more decently with that cot, but you have been staying up to prepare for havan and menagerie"nezumi reminded but he shook his head.
"Yeah but…i..feel like a piece of myself was taken away"he said as soon he got his answer from the parasite.
"I forgot to mention this if you let me take control of that monster form you loose a month of your lifespan"bane said as this made him go wide eyed at that before his eyes twithced as he screamed in rage.
"You dam parasite! You should have told me about that before hey lets go monster!"zane shouted but they looked at him talking to no one.
Decker placed a hand on his knife"kid who the heck are you talking right now? Because what do you mean by parasite?"he qeustioned as miller even eyed him reaching for his weapon. He realzied his mistake before groaning covering his eyes then revealed them to be crimson red. Hariett went wide eyed getting in a defensive stance.
"So your finally taking control huh bug alright i didn't want to have to do this. But i…"she was stopped as he flipped her off as bane made his introduction.
"Oh shut up. Unlike my grimm siblings i'm not insane like them. Me and my host are one in a way"bane said bowing slightly to their confusion right now.
Fenix ears twitched slightly"Alright is this kid crazy or something why did his eyes change red. And what does he mean by host?"he questioned. But carmine went wide eyed before grabbing him by the face. Then forcefully removed his jacket then took his shirt off as miller laughed.
"Doc, I thought you had a wife, why are you stripping the kid?"he asked.
"Because this can't be possible…no..no..could it be"she muttered to herself turning him around to reveal to the ones who didn't know white glowing vines moving under his skin budling slightly. But instead of the blue eyes they were replaced by silver eyes, as it blinked at them hissing at them.
"Gah! What the hell is their something moving inside the kid?"decker questioned pointing his knife at him. Merlot chuckled pushing it down.
"It seems your making the same conclusion i did dear…him and omega have attained…"he coudln 't finish
"Symbiosis. Remarkably, I always wondered why this one was so different. You always attack grimm in that creature form of yours could you show it?"she asked but bane removed her from him getting dressed.
"Unless you want him to lose a month of his life span then no"bane stated to their shock that he loses his life for using it.
"Alright that trump card gone though guess we gotta explain this too you guys. Whats in each grimm knight"nezumi said as they began to quickly explain to the two and catch them up on what they learned. How these grimm parasite are in each one of the knights of grimm that six of them actually are being forced under their control. Bane sprinkled in his own information as they soon where done.
Leaving an amazed decker and fenix standing right now their as hariett was frowning for some reason.
"So your telling us…a bug is controlling these people who used to be human and faunus"decker asked
"That six of them volunteered to become monster?"fenix added in shock.
"Yep though we might need to keep it on the down low when we get to menagerie. Rather not have everyone try to kill my cousin thinking a grimm controling him"vance warned ahead of time but merlot thought of something he should retrieve later to assit in that.
Bane though noticed hariett staring at him as he smirked"what wrong miss bree? Let me guess you want me to give back control?"he asked switching control to his host.
"Uh no because you almost bite my head off when i first met you…remeber. Along with tearing…mariana..limps off"hariett sadly said as zane felt guilty staring down at the ground hugging himself.
"I already feel guilty for doing that to her still…though…i have alot of guilt right now. I've killed alot of people"he saldy said as vance groaned
"Cousin all you did was smash a bot thats it"vance stated but carmine eyed him very confused right now.
"What are you talking about…penny was human"carmine corrected which made him go wide eeyd as zane eyes sank very deep into his skull right now.
"Wait…wait…wait..you…you mean he..he actually killed someone?"vance asked shaking as zane coudln't hear anything but ringing but felt something unpelsant rise up from his stomach before finding the nearest trashcan upchunking into it as he vomited what was in his stomach.
A minute past as he recovered from it as he just began to sob right now keeled over the trashcan.
"No..no..no..i actually killed someone…i actually killed someone…i'm a monster…god dammit"he cired choking on his words but hariett groaned picking him slapping him across the face.

Carmined sighed rubbign her eyes"miss poledina is alive. Shes almost better but…"she stopped eyeing merlot who knew right away.
"You need someone with an expert in robotics, maybe i can help my old friend fix his daughter up"merlot offered as zane wanted to think their lying but felt very relieved instantly.
"Oh thank god…alright so now what do we do? I just go out their without a collar or what?"he asked but nezumi gave a small smirk before miller tossed him something as he caught it that being the mask from his military unfirom.
"Put that on kid because uh we solved that problem already"nezumi replied to his confusion as he slipped it on feeling like a ghost now it seems. Vance eyed it chcukling slightly.
"You look so dumb with that on"he jabbed as he coudln't tell but he was sticking his tongue out. But once they stepped out of the tent he wondered what they exactly did as nezumi whistles to a huntsman close by getting their attention
"Whats up?"he asked
"Nothing much how many grimm knights are dead right now?"nezumi replied which confused him expecting the answer. But instead got something drastically different.
The huntsman laughed"three of them that nevermore, sabyra and that one named omega"he replied catching him offguard. As the huntsman walked away, he was very confused right now trying to piece this together.

Decker laughed"nah heres the thing you know sandra right. Well her semblance is pretty unique she can erase anyone memories about a certain topic just like that by writing on a piece of paper"he said snapping his fingers
Zane titled his head confused"why didn't we use that for my mental sugestion?"he asked
"Uhhh because she can only do it for something from a couple months ago not seven years."nezumi answered.
Vance nodded"yep spidey suggested can't thank you enough for that, thanks"he thanked as she blushed slightly from that as they headed off into the camp somewhere which left her, decker and harreitt. Then the two eyed her down as she felt like they were going to integrate her.
"What?"nezumi questioned
dekcer chuckled at that"i don't miss i fancy the lynx eared kid, never knew you like em young"teased like he was enjoying it as she went completely flush right now.
"Yeah seriously i might have fancied bon, but dam nice choice for yah…spidey"hariett teased as well as nezumi face felt very hot like a sunburnt right now.
"I..i..um…uh…god dammit…fine i fancy the kid. But i don't wanna make things awkward between us"nezumi whined as decker sighed deciding to return the favor for her being the first to join his group as he wrapped an arm around her.

But right now near the gate right now was a worried coco as an hour pased as she kept pacing around the front gate waiting for one person right now. With her was nebula trying to calm her down with akasha, while their was also zane, vance and DJ who joined them waiting for their friends safe return.
As they tried their best to calm her down coco kept freaking out"where are they…where is she…she should have come back an hour ago"coco said on the verge of crying it seems.
"Adel relax seriously i get it your worried but your losing it"nebula calmly said
"Yeah hes doing just fine over here"xander siad pointing to zane but he stood their frozen as he stared at the wolf.
"Xan i'm actually freaking out on the inside right now alot. But right now just trying to keep myself from going out their and doing what I did during the fall"he replied with a very neorvus smile
"Seriously yeah because you look ready to pop a blood vessal"vance added. Akasha got very annoyed right as she grabbed her by the arms then forced her into a chair for a moment placing her hands on her shoulder.
'Calm down alright take some deep breaths in and out slowly"akasha advised as coco did just that slowly ehxaling and inhaling. She decided to do this a few times to calm her nerves.

Akasha hummed" my little ilia, she was planning to meet us in menagerie. But that spider probably lied to her saying i was dead or something. Right now hoping blake and onxyia convinced her to join their side. Me, her and that wolf did get close in you know"akasha said smiling caressing the picture lovingly
Xander chuckled slightly"didn't sis help you two get together? She told me how her and jae tricked you into asking her out"he teased making her blush slihglty as coco laughed slightly because the same thing happened to her in a way. It made her sigh in relief slightly.
"That sounds great though happy that your out of the white fang kid. Seriously last i saw you was you robbing my store"DJ suddenly said
"Yeah well…wait what?"vance questioned shocked right now as they all stared at the weaponsmith right now who casually said that. But xander felt immense fear right now as his ears flopped over completely wondering how long he knew. He didn't wanna hide it anymore.
"How long have you known?"xander asked in defeat, DJ then pointed to the sword on his hip.
"That old blade on your hip, made that pretty obvious it was you when i noticed it. "DJ said but akasha stood up cracking her knuckles.
"You aint laying a hand on him or you'll go through me."she warned but he laughed slapping his knee at that to their concfuison for a moment.
"Why are you laughing did't he cripple you?"nebula questioned as zane held a steady hand on equinox incase he needed to defend the young wolf. But he didn't as DJ cleared his throat.

But it gave me new business ventures i've been making porthsetics everysince and i'm actually enjoying it look.."he said before pressing a button on his knee as then it opened a slot as a nozzle emerged from it firing a small stream of fire as it immeidalty closed.
Xander messed with his gold necklace looking down"so…wait…you..you don't wanna kill me?"he neoruvsly asked
DJ then got a serious look"kid i've known you wanted to apolgize to me about taking my ability to walk. You gonna be man enough to do it or what."he said as the wolf stared at him for a moment with guilt right now before sighing hugging himself.
"I'm…i'm so sorry…i..i just wanted to look cool…infront of ollie. W-which i fricking regret….i..i got my best friend killed for being an idiot."xander said crying slightly as the man kenlt down whipping a tear off his face before hugging him for a moment patting him on the back.
"Well if ya feeling guilty then thats good. Not feeling guilty for that type of thing is bad for your soul. Just do me one little favor"DJ asked as he wiped the tears away
"What?"xander asked as the man smirked

"What guy what are you all talking about?"akasha asked as cardin stared at them for a moment gritting his teeth
"Scar watts killed yatsu and fox"cardin answered hitting them like a freight train but not as much as zane who growled shaking in rage right now as several anger hisses came from his back. Coco had a narrowed gaze as he handed velvet to her for a moment.
"Oh hes dead…dead! I'm going to rip his damn metal arms off then shove them down his throat! Then i'm finding rosemary and i'm snapping her legs in half! After that i'm beating that bitch bonnie to a bloody pulp!"zane roared in rage seething in rage right now acting like a madman right now.
Coco took velvet away to console her while they packed up for tonight when they leave. But jaki stepped forward slapping him across the face to bring him back to reality
"You need to calm down, killing them won't bring anyone back that we lost. My daughter went out to kill peopel…but do you want blood on your hands?"he aksed coldy as he froze slightly he already does have it on his hand but he really doesn't want anymore.
"Umm..n-no sorry…that entire team hurt everyone here. But i am snapping his arms off and breaking that psycho leg."he affirmed as the weapon smith scoffed smiling slightly.
"Do that though i'm taking a look at this"he said taking equinox for a moment before he was starred eyed for a moment. The man examined it extensively for a bit smiling right now because for starters this was very impressive it looked on par with his craft.
"Incredible this is very well made…it seems like a typically sword but.."he paused changing it to a hunting pistol giddy over it like a kid in a candy store. They saw where rogue got her love for weapons from.
Marrow chuckled"if you think thats impressive you should see the rest of his gear he made back in atlas. Still waiting for you their"he said before jaki composed himself clearing his throat handing him back the blade as he sheathed it.
"Sorry for that though what shall we be doing now?"he asked as vance thought for a moment thinking of one thing.
"Do you wanna go see uncles grave?"vance asked his cousin who thought for a moment nodding at that. Immediately they headed off to the bullhead close by as him, the ace ops, decker and fenix boarded it along with carmine surpsignly. They flew out of vale for a bit until after ten minutes they reached a small hill like area with one tree on a hill with the sun setting in the distance.
As they exited zane looked up at the hill sighing"so this is where uncle grave is huh?"he asked as they began to walk up the hill.
"Yep…spidey and some others help me bury him. Picked this spot because it was his favorite spot"vance replied
"Why is that because it does have a nice view i'll admit"fenix said glancing toward the right of the hill seeing the sun setting in the distance. Without another word they soon immediately got to the top to reveal something. That being two gravestones the first being roman torchwich"loving father, crook of remnant, the best person in all of remnant" it read. The other caught him offguard seeing his own grave reading"Zane graves, clown, a true huntsman and best cousin around" it read
This made marrow chuckle slightly"man weird seeing your own grave kid we sure you aint a ghost?"he joked but got no response as zane knelt down infront of the grave upset seeing this right now. He never got to meet him after he got some memories back as he swallowed to speak.
"So your my uncle huh, never thought it be the infamous roman torchwich. I'm sure you were a great guy if my mom never ratted you out to the cops. I hope your smiling right now on my cousin, i'm sure people considered you a crook but you were a saint till the end'he gave a small eulogy. As he did decker glanced to the right seeing the setting sun.
"Guess this is why you picked this spot….pretty nice."decker said
Vance sniffed slightly"yeah we come here for a picnic when we had one of our birthdays actually. Would have had one for you for you too Z…if the fire didn't happen"he cried to their shokc right now that he technically died on his birthday.
Carmine sighed rubbing her eyes"thats terrible to hear….but do you know when it was?"she asked softly.
"Yeah we usually celebrated for the day we rescued him from the lab"hariett added as the lynx got some composure sniffing rubbing his puffy eyes
"It…it was three weeks after the fall…happy late birthday man"vance answered to his shock that his birthday was three weeks after starting the worst tragedy in their world right now. This was the worst birthday presnet, he can be tried for the death penalty now.
"Seriously? Worst birthday every…seriously…at least now i can into clubs now"zane cried joking slihglty as they had a small moment of peace for a moment. As decker poured one out for the criminal as a sign of respect.
After that it was soon late into the night as the night sky was out as a cargo ship was being loaded right now with the deaspardos colors. As everyone from the menagerie group were already packed up getting ready to leave saying their goodbyes.
"Gonna miss you kids hope you have a safe trip their"faba said hugging coco gently as she nodded walking into the ship to console velvet right now who had a distant look. But she just comfort the rabbit the best she could.
"Same here be careful out their may, we'll make sure nolan is alright back in vacuo"ophelia said hugging her as she did the same with earl.
"Yeah can't loose you too, and bag that mutt for us will yah"Earl added
Gwen nodded"please do that jerk took my arm i hope he suffers for what he did"she aded with venom
May gave a confident look"don't worry we'll stop him and save the island you got my word as a deadeye"she replied confdiently walking onto the ramp. Picto was their with hariett along with miller as the man seemed rather confident right now.
"It was a smart idea to send this small rescue team to the island. Though i take it your here to give us something else?"picto asked as miller nodded handing two cases of syringes to him.
"These are for any grimm knights that you may encounter in the city. We already loaded up that sabyr freak in the manta. Your dismissed"harriett said as he nodded walking off eyeing miller who had a smirk.
"Nice job lying bree"miller complimented as they walked over joining glynda who was standing with carmine and merlot. Along with nezumi, dekcer,cardin and xander waiting for two people who still havent showed up yet.
"Well i dabble sometime but hey where the heck are the kid and his cousin?"harriett questions as they didn't know. But as if their names where said running over was zane, vance along with jaki carrying a cyclinder like tube under his arms.
"Sorry were late…had to make copy of the map for… "zane said panting.
Glynda hummed slightly"that is a smart idea, i'm assuming your guessing that an alley of ours will pass through argus."she asked as he nodded

"Good job though i'll probably head back to vacuo to gather some troops to defend the school. With trifa and yuma help we can find any cells in the area."decker added. But hariett then recalled something.
"Speaking of which since you were the one that put that man out of his misery. Here is your fifteen million lien reward"hariett said producing a fifteen million lien cards hnding it to nezumi as their jaws dropped at that amount.
"That much for one grimm knight…can we turn him in i need a new apartment."cardin joked pointing at his friend who rolled his eyes. The spider faunus eyed the card in her hand before suddenly handing it to zane for some reason.

All of them stood their stunned as sandra was laughing at her as decker shook his smiling. While hariett smiled for her friend as zane felt happy for his cousin, fenix whsitled clapping his hands for him. The spider then placed a piece of paper in the lynx shirt.
"Next time your in vacuo kid give me a call, don't die cutie"nezumi teased playfully waving to him as he stood stunned as cardin dragged him onboard as immediately him along with some others began to mess with him. Once they got on board everyone was comfortable sitting down as they checked over their equipment.
As zane was checking his for his ammunition, he noitced eight folders in the bag probably the dossier along with the map strapped to his bag. Their was also that photo album carmine gave him making him smile, but tapped on his file he saw a flashdrive. This confused him plugging it into it his scroll seeing it'll take twelve hours to download. But soon enough he got comfortable deciding to sleep in the cargo hold.
Once their he found a decent spot setting it up taking out a notepad writing something as he glanced at a glass case containing diegos remains. Along with his trunk from atlas making him smile that their on their way to menagerie now. As velvet joined him the hold for now to spend some time with him.
"Don't worry wolfie i'll make sure to make it up to you. I hope to fix things"he thought as they flew toward menagerie to save it.
Finally their leaving vale to head off to save menagerie. Though it seems that scar is the one who killed coco and velvet two teammates which might fuel someone anger toward him. Along with learning of the side effect of zane going into his grimm form. Thanks for reading!
