29. Chapter 29: Sister

Here is the twenty-ninth chapter in this story released when I wanted it to be released based of my release process for this series. Just as it looked like 'Licht' would be killed he was saved at the last minute by Valtos and two girls, one of whom called Akame 'big sis'. Now the revelation of who these girls are, and the potential implications of that, are at hand as the next stage of this engagement starts. This has to be the end of the surprise arrivals, right? Well time to find out as Akame and Tatsumi face two former enemies that they'd never expected to face again. That is all that I have for the administrative stuff I have for y'all and there are no guest reviews that need a response, though I thank you for your support of my work, but there is a question that needs and answer which I will do now. Do keep them coming as your support is the best motivation for me to keep producing chapters at this kind of rate.

Have I seen the Black Clover movie? Yes I have and I hope to be able to incorporate the events of it, as well as the lore it and subsequent material established about the other Wizard Kings into this story but all in good time.

Chapter 29: Sister

"Big sis?" Asta asked his eyes wide as he looked between the girls and there was a clear resemblance in them, plus Akame was clearly taller and more mature in her physique which lend credence to the big sis part, not to mention the fact that they shared the same rare attribute. "Is that who you told us about? You know, the one you had to…"

"Yes, it would appear she too was reborn here, same with the psycho next to her but I'll leave her to Tatsumi as I never dealt with the bitch who murdered Sheele." Akame said as she set herself and squared off against the girl who appeared to be her sister. "There's no doubt, that blade is this world's Yatsufusa, her Imperial Arms. Between that, her appearance, and her attribute being Blade, there's no question, that's my little sister Kurome before us."

"Well technically I'm the older one now as I was born a year before you it would seem though I was sold almost right away to the Diamond Kingdom for my high magic potential, apparently our parents really suck no matter where we are." Kurome said. "I didn't even realize that they'd had another kid until recently. However, you were always the big sister Akame so it's no different now as far as I see it."

"It is different now though." Akame said as she saw her opportunity at last. "We have a new life and purpose, you're clearly no longer on drugs like you were in our previous life so we can have a fresh start as proper sisters. I, I don't have to do what I did before. Back then our relationship was so messed up because of everything, because of what the Empire did to us, but it doesn't have to be the case this time around."

"That may be but it's not like I'm not still some science experiment here." Kurome said as she raised her shirt to reveal that she had a black stone set into her navel that look somewhat familiar to Asta, along with some impressive abs he couldn't help but notice, before she lowered it and tapped her sternum. "There's another one here as well, I refused the forehead one as it wasn't my style. See, I may have survived what they did to find the strongest as I knew what it took to survive and don't mind killing thanks to our old lives even if I didn't remember it at the time."

"There were cracks in the blocks we had." Akame said. "Things like skills, instincts, and feelings were there just not the memories."

"Was that it? Well it doesn't matter as it helped me out." Kurome said with a shrug as Asta tried to recall where he'd seen stones like those before. "That and my Blade Magic, it is a lethal attribute to have, so between all that I survived that year's training, the only one of course as that's just how the Diamond Kingdom does things, and got these stones to enhance my magic but I can tell I'm still inferior to you dear sister."

"That Diamond Kingdom Mage had one as well." Asta said as it all came back to him with Kurome's words. "We fought him in the dungeon. He was tough, kept coming back, but I finally beat him with some help from Noelle even if it almost killed me, got a new scar from him. Well, Yuno landed the final blow but I softened him up."

"Probably Mars, he was one of the best." Kurome said idly, she didn't care for the loud boy and sensed no magic from him so she dismissed him, her focus was her sister. "Problem with the stones is that they're stuck in me as far as I know and can be used to control me so when I, er, left the service of the Diamond Kingdom so to speak to join Master Licht I had to start taking a serum Sally's been making me to keep their controlling affects at bay and, well, let's just say certain habits stick no matter the life as that serum is just as good as my cookies were."

"So your still the same on that front." Akame said with a sigh. "I don't want to fight you though. I'm sure we can find a way to get those stones out of you and get you clean Kurome. Please, come with me and I promise I'll find a way to help you."

"You see, I kinda owe your for running me through, sis, and you're with the Clover Kingdom Magic Knights now so clearly you're still a goodie two shoes." Kurome said as she let out a laugh. "Funny how in this world you're the dog to an evil monarchial nation and I'm the one fighting to take it down and replace it with something better, funny how things end up."

"The Clover Kingdom isn't perfect, I'll admit that, and there are a lot of things that need reform." Akame said. "But unlike with the Empire, I believe in the Wizard King and in my Captain, I serve them freely, ok not freely but that's a different story as once I'm pardoned I'll continue my service freely, and I didn't with the Empire once I realized the truth there. That is why it's different, I'm using my skills to make things better here, you can as well Kurome."

"See, I know the truth of this Kingdom and unlike with the Empire I have no comrades who died for their missions serving the Clover Kingdom so I'll take them down and make them pay for what they did to Master Licht's people." Kurome said as their exchange was a slight flip of the final one that they'd had before Akame killed Kurome. "But unlike before, I don't want to kill you this time around. We were separated before you were born, you didn't abandon me because you'd not been reborn and even after my memories returned I didn't expect you'd be here."

"And now you see me you want to kill me again." Akame said. "While I only wanted to end your suffering before and in our twisted lives back then that meant killing you because of how messed up the Empire had made you."

"You did kill me and prevented me from adding you to my collection so that you were with me forever." Kurome said as Asta shuddered, he'd heard all of Akame's tale but to hear it from her actual sister was something else entirely. "So when Valtos told us of that there was another Blade Mage out there, one who not only used a katana but was skilled with it, well I knew it had to be you though I don't know how you died. How did that happen?"

"Esdeath killed me by impaling me with an ice shard but not until I slashed her shoulder to him with Murasame so she died as well." Akame said. "She cut off her arm when I first cut her, had to make sure that she died this time around. Tatsumi had already died."

"Stopping a giant Imperial Arms will do that." Tatsumi said opting not to go into details about his own death. "And so here we are. If you two are here then that's really not good."

"It is for us; we owe you Night Raid villains justice for what you did to us." The auburn haired girl said speaking for the first time but Asta had no clue who she was other than one of the reborn souls like Akame and Tatsumi though he couldn't recall all the names of their enemies to know which one she was. "I will deliver it now."

"Patience Seryu." Kurome said and as soon as Asta heard that name he recalled who that was from Tatsumi's story of his past life and it explained her look, she was one of the more unhinged ones and given that bar was apparently really high it was an achievement. "We will have our moment but I am sure my sister and Tatsumi have questions that we can answer, we should show them some courtesy before we kill them after all. Besides, she looks worse for wear after that little battle with the Master. I still can't believe you managed to hurt him though, you really are the best at killing, aren't you big sis."

Akame didn't say anything, it had taken all her tricks and skills just to create the opening that allowed her to land her Thousand Cuts spell and even then she'd failed to kill the bastard because of Kurome and Seryu's arrival. However, as Kurome had pointed out, Akame wasn't in a much better state than Licht was seeing as she was covered in superficial cuts and had dried blood all over her. It may not look like much but they added up and seeing as most had already stopped bleeding any strenuous movement like a swordfight would cause them to open up again and that wouldn't be good at all.

In addition to the cuts on her jaw and along her right side boob, that just annoyed her with its location, Akame had three on her left bicep, one on her right, and a long on from her right wrist to her elbow on the back of her right forearm. That shouldn't be there but because she'd been on a date when she sprang into action she didn't have her gloves and greaves on hence the lack of protection. She also had cuts on her left side, right hip, and two on each thigh to round out the injuries.

Her clothes were cut up now and her arms and legs were more red than white from her blood but she could fight through the pain if need be, she'd been in worse pain after all, and still beat Kurome even if she didn't want to fight her sister. Alas, it seemed that she might have to but before she Kurome was right she did have questions, as did Tatsumi, so she asked the most important one first.

"When did the block get removed?" Akame asked. "I presume you removed each other's but when did you realize you were reborn in this world?"

"A few years back, I was an assassin for the Diamond Kingdom trained by that traitor Fanzell but he'd not defected before my block was removed." Kurome said. "Trust me, if he'd defected before I joined Master Licht, he'd not have made it far. He certainly wouldn't have slipped away like he did when Mariella found him."

"Hey, no matter who it was I would have…" Asta began.

"No you wouldn't have Asta." Akame said simply. "Kurome may not have been at my level but she's still an extremely capable assassin who wouldn't be swayed by your words the way others are. That girl I cut up who came for that Zell guy, she was good but not at Kurome's level."

"Yeah I trained Mariella a little back before she got her grimoire, she's good when it comes to sneaking in and stabbing someone with her ice daggers but when it comes to direct combat she's not at our level." Kurome said. "But she didn't have what we had Akame. I'd left before she got her grimoire though, ran into Seryu on a job and my block broke, hers had already broken because of me beforehand."

"A chance glimpse when she was on a mission at the time." Seryu said. "I couldn't go after her then though, I had my own duties and that breakdown the block's removal caused was a bitch to deal with."

"It was but Seryu helped me through it." Kurome said. "At the time she was already serving the Master and as I got my memories back I figured that it was better to join her, especially after what I heard the Clover Kingdom had done. I knew that they were bad but what they did was worse that I could have ever imagined. Besides, if she's here then Bols has to be as well, there's a good chance with him actually, and maybe even Esdeath."

"I hope to all possible deities that exist in this world and our last one that that woman is not here." Tatsumi said with a shiver. "I could barely handle her before. I don't want to run into her ever again because she'll chase me in this world as well."

"Agreed." Akame said. "It was a bitch to kill her once, I can't imagine her with Ice Magic."

"It would be great if the General was here, she taught me so much about brining justice to criminals and took me under her wing after all those who I cared about were murdered." Seryu said. "At least she didn't die before me like my father and Captain Ogre and Dr. Stylish, all of whom murderers like you took from me. Today I will finally bring you scum to justice for all the evil you've done!"

"Oh yeah, Ogre, I never told you that I was the one who killed him, did I?" Tatsumi asked idly as Seryu's eyes went wide at that. "Yeah, he was my first kill as part of Night Raid and second the second person I killed after that Aria chick who was just as crazy as you were. Really showed my stuff there. Killed him without getting a scratch on me, he really wasn't that tough in the end."

Seryu had never learned who'd killed Ogre in their old lives, Tatsumi hadn't been able to tell her back then for various reasons even after she learned of his true loyalties, so he knew that telling her now would rile her up. That was good as the being emotional could make her sloppy though he had no clue what her attribute could be seeing as she'd wielded an organic type Imperial Arms in their last life and that didn't translate well to any magic he knew of so he had to be wary of that.

"That you did my love, proved to me that you could make it as an assassin when you took that contract and killed that monster." Akame said. "Glad I stripped you to make sure though, I wouldn't want you to die from an infection that you didn't report because of your bright. Well that and it really brought us closer."

"That it did and we worked together to kill Dr. Stylish." Tatsumi said as he added the next cut to Seryu's psyche. "It was a group effort what with Su and Mine helping out but you landed the blow."

"I wouldn't if you'd not carried me and then thrown me at him when I knew I could cut him." Akame said. "He was done though, the first of the Jaegers to be taken down."

"Damn you evil doers!" Seryu screamed at them her grimoire floating up and opening as it flipped to a page while revealing that it was green with a white border and diamond that was in the open mouth of a sharp toothed dog's head in the center of the cover while the back cover had various weapons that looked vaguely familiar on it all in white. "I'll…"

"Seryu, calm down." Kurome said her tone a little sharp but that was it. "You can bring Tatsumi to justice in a moment, he deserves it for betraying us after the General was so kind as to recruit him as a reserve member, even sharing her bed with him."

"She kidnapped me!" Tatsumi protested. "I wasn't recruited in any way shape or for. Well, actually Night Raid kinda took me as well but at least I agreed with them when I learned what they were doing, especially after what I saw."

"Tatsumi." Akame said glance at him. "What is my sister talking about? Regarding the bed thing that is, we had to take you after the whole Aria job. You had potential, we needed members, and you knew the ugly truth so it all worked out. That's irrelevant now though, what is this shit about Esdeath."

"It wasn't my fault! Esdeath kidnapped me remember and, well, she's extremely forward with what she wants." Tatsumi said. "I wanted to sleep on the couch but she wouldn't let, even promised not to do anything but when I woke up she was spooning me!"

"She was spooning you?" Akame asked as Tatsumi dug his hole deeper. "So you were the little spoon?"

"Yes!" Tatsumi said.

"That does explain some things, not that I mind I like sleeping in your arms as the little spoon it's comforting." Akame said with a smile at the memory and how unlike that ice bitch she was actually loved in return by Tatsumi. "Reminds me that we're together now and that I beat her in more than just battle."

"Wait, you two are…" Kurome began blinking as she looked between them. "Yeah, you are. Guess that makes sense, I got the feeling when we had our final clash sis. He was your knight in shinning armor, literally seeing as wielded Incursio, coming to ensure you did what you had to while Wave tried to stop it. A shame it didn't end that way but things were so messed up by then that we had to end it with finality."

"We did but we don't have to do that this time." Akame pointed out. "And yes, Tatsumi held me as I cried after having to kill you Kurome. By that point I was in love with him but he died before I could confess. Our new lives gave me that chance."

"What, what happened to my body?" Kurome asked. "Seryu blew herself up so that we know that she had no remains left but what about me? Was I buried or just left where you slew me?"

"I'm still annoyed that I didn't take you and that pink haired flat girl who bisected me with that stupid gun with me." Seryu muttered, not adding that she'd actually regretted her sacrifice in the end but it was too late by that point. "At least she died in the end."

"Don't speak of Mine, you have no right." Tatsumi said his anger growing. "Or Sheele for that matter."

"Tatsumi, she's trying to rile you up leave it and fight smart." Akame warned as Seryu was doing what he'd done to her though she was looking at Seryu as she was speaking and added. "As for your body, Wave took it away and buried you."

"Did, did he survive?" Kurome asked and for the first time something other than what Akame had come to know from Kurome before she killed her sister crept into the girl's voice though Akame couldn't tell what it was. "The war that is or did he die? If so, has he been reborn as well? I, well, if he's here I'd like to see him again as things could be different this time around."

"As far as I know he survived." Akame said. "After trying to interfere and failing he was broken and no longer fighting for anything, he wasn't strong enough to save you and that broke him I think. With your death he lost his faith in the Empire and defected. He would come back in the final battle though and aided us, mainly Tatsumi, but we died before the battle ended so we can't say for certain that he survived it."

"Oh, ok." Kurome said with a hint of sadness in her voice though why she was sad was unclear to Akame. "Well, I'll have to try and find him when this is done them."

"Kurome, if our allies are here we will find them after this." Seryu said. "Bols should be the easiest, I've heard that there's a super strong Flame Mage who's on the same level as Mars and Ladros so when our generation takes over as the next 8 Shining Generals we should have confirmation of whether or not that Flame Mage is him. Right now, though, we must aid Master Licht on bringing the Clover Kingdom to justice and make them pay for all the evils they've committed. After that we can go and find Bols, Wave, Run, Dr. Stylish, and the General."

"Right, we do need to focus on aiding the Master." Kurome said with a nod.

"So, Bols might be here as well." Tatsumi said. "Not surprising if you two are though I'd rather not deal with any of you and he may be in the Diamond Kingdom so we can avoid him. I see that both of you have diamonds on your grimoires, so you were reborn there which makes sense after what you've been saying so far. Alright, before we do this and I get revenge for you killing Sheele, what's your story, bitch?"

"Oh the justice will be mine at last as I finally purge you of your evil Tatsumi." Seryu said giving him a sharp toothed grin that really showed the madness in her eyes but Tatsumi wasn't unnerved by it. "As for my story, it's similar to my last one. Born in the Diamond Kingdom Capital where my mother died giving birth to me while my dad was a member of the Royal Guard there. He was killed by some Clover Kingdom assassins protecting our King, they were rightfully executed, so I swore to bring your whole evil kingdom to justice for that but he was just the first of many I knew and admired to die by the hands of your kingdom's evil Magic Knights so I'm not surprised that you two joined as well."

"Ah good to see her delusions and twisted sense of justice are still strong." Tatsumi said. "Let me guess, you joined the Royal Guard as well."

"I did and Moris himself took me under his wing but when I saw Kurome, she was on a mission to assassinate an enemy of our Kingdom who'd infiltrated the Capital, I had a breakdown as it all came back to me." Seryu said. "It was a lot but all it did was reinforce my commitment, especially after I learned that there was a good chance that Bols was here as well. However, I was stuck in the Guard and couldn't do anything but vent my righteous calls for justice against the Clover Kingdom to all who'd listen."

"Again, doesn't surprise me." Tatsumi said.

"Shut up!" Seryu snapped before resuming her tale. "It was during this that agents for Master Licht approached me and told me that I could get justice on the Clover Kingdom if I joined them and I couldn't say no. Had to fake my own death to get out of my service but it was for the best as this way I can get true justice on all of you, the kind the Diamond Kingdom wouldn't let me get."

"Sometime after that was when Seryu found me as we mentioned earlier." Kurome said. "It helps the Diamond Kingdom though I did have to fake my own death as well so that they wouldn't look for me, hence the continued need for the serum Sally makes me as these stones would tell Morris that I'm alive, and I've been part of the Eye of the Midnight Sun ever since. Then, when I learned that there was a Blade Mage here, well I begged the Master to take you in alive to confirm my suspicions. Come with me big sis, we can be together serving the Master. The kingdom here wronged you, did it not? I know that our pasts have repeated themselves somewhat so yours has to have done so as well."

"I did go through something similar, I won't lie, but it wasn't sanctioned by the Clover Kingdom and I've since gotten my revenge." Akame said calmly. "The Wizard King is like our old boss Najenda, I trust him and will serve him in his goals of making this nation better from within. It's not like last time where we just killed the enemies of the Empire so I'd rather not fight again, not after we've been reunited but if you are part of this terrorist group and affiliated with the Diamond Kingdom as well then I am afraid I have no choice but to see you as an enemy."

"Looks like we're destined to clash across lives then, big sis." Kurome said a slightly resigned tone in her voice as she set her stance with her katana out in front of her in her right hand and a small smile on her face before she suddenly pushed off the ground with enough force to crack it and shot at Akame. "This time though you won't win. Time to die for a second time, Akame."

Akame just leapt back to give herself some room and free up for Tatsumi to handle Seryu as she brought Murasame up, ignoring the blood that flowed from freshly reopened wounds, to intercept a slash from Yatsufusa with a clang as she landed on the ground. Kurome naturally didn't give up and quickly they were exchanging blows in a furious clash that rang out through the cavern as the two sisters and expert katana based swordswomen dueled yet again.

The only magic in that fight was the creation of their blades, other than that this was put swordplay and Asta turned to watch it, noting that Kurome tended to favor a one handed style to the two handed one Akame used, though he was torn as Tatsumi and the mad chick squared off. That had magic in it and as soon as he heard the first spell that Seryu used she revealed that her attribute was one that Asta had never heard of before.

"Armor Creation Magic: Incursio." Tatsumi said his grimoire quickly flipping the right page and Incursio forming around him without any fanfare as he was going for a quick cast of it. "Against you, Seryu, I need the best I got to ensure that I kill you, especially if you have a spell to recreate your Imperial Arms."

"I'm touched, let me bring you to justice with what you know of though I'll save that for if I need it." Seryu said as her grimoire glowed. "Armament Creation Magic: Enma's Spear of Justice!"

"Armament Magic, what…" Asta began before going bug eyed at what he saw. "Holy shit, what on earth is that thing!"

What had been formed was a large, green, metal drill that Seryu drew form her grimoire similar to how Asta drew his swords and Akame her katana. It was massive though, wider than his big sword, and looked like it shouldn't be able to be held but she could manage it without an issue as it began to spin rapidly, the grin on Seryu's face getting wider and the gleam in her eyes madder as she pointed the weapon at Tatsumi.

"So your spells are based off those judgement things you had that crazy doctor whip up for you after Sheele took your arms." Tatsumi said as the spear of Incursio formed next to him in the air and he grabbed it to twirl it in hands. "Makes sense, those are what we'd call armaments so I can see this as your attribute. I take it that applies to Kuro as well."

"He's for later, this is enough for you now." Seryu said as she lunged with her spear at Tatsumi. "Justice at last!"

Tatsumi wasn't going to just stand there and take it of course. As he sensed Akame and Kurome dueling behind him, he ran forward and leapt over the drill thrust with ease and put plenty of distance between him and Seryu with it. As he leapt, he flipped and spun in the air to face Seryu's back, his arm cocking back before he threw the spear there as he fell to the ground going for a swift impalement to end her right at the start.

It was a good idea and tactic but Seryu was still highly trained and she knew he was behind her so she turned, drill still spinning in her hands, and batted Tatsumi's spear away so that spun in the air before burying itself in the wall of the cavern too far away for Tatsumi to reliably get it as she landed and slid over the ground. As she did she fired the drill at Tatsumi to ensure that his focus remained solely on her.

Tatsumi had landed on the ground before Seryu had fired her drill so he just leaped over it again ensuring that it flew under him and slammed into the far wall where it blew up with enough force to shake the cavern and send a few stalactites down, thankfully not on them, and leaving a smoking crater in its wake. Of course the pair didn't notice as Seryu ran at Tatsumi her grimoire flipping to a new page as Tatsumi's sword shot out of his armor as he fell to the ground following his leap.

"Armament Creation Magic: Sung Dynasty Blade!" Seryu yelled as the handle of a sword came up from the grimoire this time while Tatsumi grabbed his sword out of the air with his right hand right before he landed back on the ground "Face justice already!"

With that she drew a really long sword, longer than Asta's big sword though not wider than it, and swung it around and at Tatsumi as he landed. However a massive shield appeared to his side to intercept the sword with a clang as Tatsumi pushed off the ground and at Seyru.

Seryu tried to push through the shield but it held though it was noticeably dented by the impact and thanks to the block and Incursio being active she wasn't going to be able to swing the sword around before Tatsumi would reach her. As such she just dismissed it as she leapt back, legs glowing with a dark green magic showing that she was using Reinforcement Magic on them, as her grimoire flipped to another page.

"Armament Creation Magic: Tonfas Guns!" Seryu said and this time rather than the item come from her grimoire they appeared right before her hands and she caught them out of the air to bring them to bear as Tatsumi neared her. "Die bastard!"

Asta wasn't sure what the items were as they looked like gray metal weapons of some sort about the length of the woman's forearms with handles near one end so she held them resting against her arms. They were thick and as she grabbed them and held her arms out Asta say that they had openings at the end that she blasted bullets of raw magic out of at Tatsumi as he approached.

However, Tatsumi was already prepared and he slashed the magic bullets with his sword, destroying them with precises strikes from his sword that he'd coated in Reinforcement Magic to ensure that it could cut the magic bullets out of the air as Seyru landed and slid back over the cavern floor. Before she could fire anymore at him, Tatsumi brought his sword down in a strong overhand slash that the intercepted on her tonfas, that's what she'd called them so Asta would refer to them as such, with a clang as they locked up for a moment.

"You think that those little peashooters will do anything to me?" Tatsumi asked as Seryu pushed back and uncrossed her arms to throw Tatsumi back, her arms glowing with Reinforcement Magic showing that she'd resorted to that to force Tatsumi away. "You always hid behind your Imperial Arms and the raw power of those weapons of yours you used after Sheele cut off your arms, you've got no proper close combat skills Seryu."

As Tatsumi spoke he launched his attack as a flurry of sword strikes enhanced by having Incursio on but every single one was blocked by Seryu's tonfas as he pushed her back and forced her to go fully defensive as they began to duel. They'd never truly fought each other but Tatsumi had heard the stories and seen her in action during his forced stint with the Jaegers so he knew her skills but clearly in her new life Seryu had improved her skills as she matched his blows and even forced Tatsumi to use his armor to block some counters as she expertly duel wielded her tonfas against his sword.

It wasn't so much a stalemate, Tatsumi had the clear skill advantage in this kind of combat and was pressing it so Seryu needed some kind of way to disarm him and free up a moment to use another spell. She wasn't ready to use her best spell but she had one that could match Tatsumi in Incursio, she just needed the opening to use it and as they dueled an idea to create it came to her.

It was risky but it should work so with a little desperation in her moves, Seryu brought her right tonfa around but Tatsumi blocked and pushed it away with his left gauntlet. That was just what she wanted and as it was knocked away she began to channel her magic into it as Tatsumi brought his sword up to slash her across the chest. To block that Seryu brough in her left tonfa so that the edge of the blade hit it and forced her arm up as Tatsumi pushed through the swing, the tip of his blade slicing through her tunic and slicing her chest enough to draw blood but nothing more.

That was the opening that Seryu wanted as she suddenly spun her right tonfa in her hand and fired off the larger than normal magic bullet out of it and at Tatsumi's sword as she brought it around before he could pull his sword down. The raw mana slammed into the red stone set into the sword just as she'd aimed at and the force of the impact wrenched the sword from Tatsumi's hand and sent it flying.

It was a good move but there was a risk in it and Tatsumi exploited it right away as he grabbed the right tonfa in his left hand and pulled it to him, crushing it with the enhanced strength of Incursio in the process. As he did Tatsumi clenched his right fist, cocked his arm back and punched at Seryu's face with all his strength releasing the remains of the right tonfa as he did.

Seryu knew that the force of the blow would kill her so she brought up her left tonfa and positioned it so that it took the blow, shattering in the process as Tatsumi punched through it, and rolling her head to the side so that when his fist hit her in the jaw it was just a glancing blow that had been slowed by her block. Of course a glancing blow from Incursio, well magic Incursio, was still painful and tossed Seryu back as blood sprayed from her mouth but she wasn't knocked out so she twisted in the air, her grimoire flipping to a new page and calling out a spell before she landed on her feet as she'd gotten the time she needed to cast it.

"Armament Creation Magic: Armor of Absolute Justice!" Seryu said as she landed in a crouch and placed her hand on the ground, blood running down her chin and spitting out a tooth in the process as her spell activated. "You're not the only one with armor evil doer. I shall use mine to bring you to absolute justice!"

As she spoke there was a shimmer over her body and a dark green set of armor formed on her. It was classic Seryu in that it was thick, plated, and covered in spikes giving it an evil look that fit with her personality. It was still forming as she pushed off the ground and cocked her own right fist back to punch Tatsumi in the face with the spiked knuckles on her gauntlets before he could block it.

Tatsumi rolled with it though, feeing the blow but he needed to in order to adapt to Seryu's magic, as Asta stared at the armor. It was a set of gauntlets that had spiked knuckles and three spikes on the sides of the forearms, a breast plate with shoulder pauldrons that covered her biceps and had spikes on the tops of her shoulders, a metal skirt that was fell to her thighs with a spiked belt and knee high boots with three spikes on the sides of her calves. Finally a spiked helm formed over her head, the spikes forming a crown around it with pads over her cheeks and a slitted visor over her eyes leaving only her mouth visible.

Overall it was a sinister looking thing that reflected the twisted soul of the mage who cast it but Tatsumi didn't mind as he cracked his neck, he'd landed on his feet after the hit that had cracked his helmet but Incursio was already adapting and repairing itself so that there was no damage as he looked at the grinning madwoman facing him. She was strong, he'd give Seryu that much, but she wasn't an Armor Mage and she was trying to fight him in a suit of armor her magic made. He'd make her pay for that as he showed her what a true Armor Mage and the man who evolved Incursio could do while wearing it.

"Alright, fists then." Tatsumi said as he clenched his fists while Seryu did the same. "Works for me."

At that he charged and Seryu did the same both of them yelling as the did. At the last moment though, Tatsumi read Seryu's ki and ducked so that her punch sailed over his head. The moment it did he drove his left fist into her gut, one of the parts of her that wasn't covered by the armor, bending her over before he rose and slammed his right fist up and into her chin in a savage uppercut that staggered her back but didn't do snap her neck as he'd intended it to, she was using Reinforcement Magic to protect her exposed areas it seemed.

Seryu wasn't done though as the blow didn't knock her down and she brought her right fist down but Tatsumi caught it in his left hand ignoring as the spikes punched through Incursio's glove and into his hand as his magic would adapt to withstand it soon enough. However as he did, Seryu brought her left leg up and kicked him in the side, hard. Tatsumi gasped from the be blow but wasn't budged as he let got of Seryu's fist and punched her in the chest to force her to take a step back.

The moment he had the opening he began to unload as flurry of blows on her that forced her on the defensive as the enemies who transcended lifetimes began to engage in an armored hand to hand duel. It was impressive but so too was the other duel that was still going on as well and as that duel had swords in it Asta turned to focus on it now that Tatsumi and Seryu had devolved into beating each other to pulps with unarmed, but armored, combat.

"We really don't have to do this." Akame said as she and Kurome continued to exchange sword strikes that clanged and sparked as neither gave the other an inch nor did they land anything as their skills were near even matched. "Surrender, I'll make sure you get a deal like me after the Captain caught me when I was sent to kill him."

"Don't you get it Akame, I'm in the right this time." Kurome said as she brought her blade down in a diagonal slash that Akame blocked and they locked up for a moment and pushed against each other trying to break the other's strength. "Come with me, the Master will let you in."

"Never, I'm a Magic Knight of the Clover Kingdom and a proud Black Bull." Akame said as she pushed her sister back forcing her to flip backwards as she pressed forward and unleashed a flurry of strikes that Kurome back peddled from barely getting her sword up to block them as Akame unleashed on her sister "If you can't see that we're the ones in the right, especially after that attack on the Capital then again your lost. Don't make me lose my sister again, don't make me take your life for a second time Kurome."

"I'll never join the Clover Kingdom, Master Licht showed me how evil it is and together we'll build a better one, better than Diamond or the Empire, a truly equal and just nation that you could be part of Akame." Kurome said as she got Yatsufusa up to block a strike but Akame twisted Murasame slightly and managed to slide her katana up Kurome's and off to slice her sister along the cheek, barely missing her left eye, and taking off a few strands of black hair as Kurome was forced back, blood ran down her face that she licked with her tongue. "Ha, still got it big sis I see, good thing that the additional feature of that blade didn't transfer over but I'm not injured like I was the night you killed me."

With that Kurome launched at Akame again and turned the tables on her. Akame grit her teeth but knew that she wouldn't persuade Kurome today. She didn't have to kill her though, not this time, not when she had a powerful man like the Wizard King backing her. She could wound Kurome badly and take her alive, then she'd save her with the aid of the Wizard King and Captain Yami. This time would be different, she swore it as she fell into a rhythm against Kurome while looking for the opening that she needed to end this duel.

During all of this Asta was torn between the two battles. He'd watched the older teens in training, spared against Tatsumi a few times, and learned all he could from their styles to incorporate them into his own but what he was watching was on a whole new level. He'd never seen them pushed like this and go all out; well he'd seen Akame do that against the Light Mage just not like this with her katana. That was what they were doing now, however, as they dueled their enemies from their last life and Asta watched in stary eyed amazement and the skills his squadmates had.

True Asta wanted to spare them so they could pay for their crimes, and to help Akame with her sister, but that would come. For now he was doing all he could to learn as he watched the duels intently amazed at the skills of all four combatants in them.

Naturally this meant that he didn't realize that Patry was fully healed and on his feet again, nor did he realize that Tatsumi's shield spell was no longer active due to his need to cast Incursio to face Seryu though as Asta couldn't sense mana that was to be expected. Patry could and grinned as he raised his hand to kill the brat who'd stolen Licht's grimoire.

Kurome's sister had hurt him and she'd pay for that but thanks to Kurome and Seryu's arrival and the delaying tactics that they'd employed by taking to the reborn Black Bulls no one had paid attention to Patry as he healed up with Healing Light Particles. He needed that time given all the cuts on his body so he was grateful for the time they'd bought him.

Of course he still hated the girls, they were humans and brutal killers at that, but they had their use as pawns in his schemes. It also helped that Kurome was an accomplished killer and highly trained assassin while the sadistic bloodlust and hatred for the Clover Kingdom that Seryu possessed was a useful tool to exact justice on the kingdom that had slain Patry and his people. They'd serve well and be good sacrifices in the end but until then he'd play his role as their Master and supporter until it was time to betray them. Now, though he'd kill the insulant brat who's very existence defied natural law.

"I'll be taking that grimoire back now." Patry said which got Asta's attention and he turned to see the light dart thing already formed in the Light Mage's hand. "And your life as well as that spell that was protecting you is no longer active."

Before Asta could react or get his swords up the Light Magic was blasted out of the man's hand and at Asta. He realized that this was it, he was dead unless something happened though Asta wouldn't give up until he was actually dead and tried to get his swords up to block or cut through the Light Magic even if it wasn't likely he'd manage to do so in time.

Suddenly a familiar looking spatial portal opened and a katana covered in roiling black magic that was the antithesis of light was thrust through it that cut away the Light Magic with a slash as a new figure joined the fight to land before Asta in a protective stance facing the Light Mage, katana in his right hand and ready to use it. Well two figures but Asta wasn't paying attention the one who'd brought his defender here as all Asta could do was say two words as he stared in shock at his savior while the two duels continued to go on around him.

"Captain Yami."

This arc is just too perfect for cliffhangers as ways to end chapters so here is another one as Yami finally joins the party, this time with two fights going in. It may have been a long chat, done to allow Patry to heal up of course, but now Akame and Tatsumi know what Kurome and Seyru have been up to since being reborn and where they were reborn. It won't change much right now, they kinda have to fight, but Asta did witness all that and who knows how he'll react to all that once the fight reaches the next level. Of course you'll have to wait for the next chapter and maybe some more after it as we reach the next level of this arc and the revelations that it contains. Lastly, yes Armament Magic is the magic that those who used an organic type Imperial Arms as their last Imperial Arms before their deaths will have so this is the confirmation, via Seryu, that Najenda's attribute is Armament as well and the next time we see her I'll be able to name it as I was waiting for Seryu to use it first to confirm it. Also, as you can see from how Seryu's works, other weapons used by an Armament Magic user can be replicated so there will be a nod to Pumpkin for Najenda and that way she can show off both her Imperial Arms without needing two attributes.
