Chapter 75:Branded
They all stood in a standoff right now in the park as luckily no one was really their since the weather started to pick up. But right now adder was on the defensive holding his nephew close while the others had other ideas. Lazuli placed a hand on stinger while emerald was ready to pull her weapons out. As the others were slightly confused if they know this faunus.
Neptune scratched his forehead like he seen him from somewhere before.
"Do you guys know this guy or something?"neptune asked
Adder backed up still holding bazz close"no we don't….i'll…i'll be leaving now"he said trying to leave but he felt something be pressed against his back. That being lazuli wrist mounted crossbow.
"Oh…oh no. were talking you lying snake because for starters i know what you did"lazuli growled as bazz looked at the group confused for a moment before turning to his uncle.
"Uncle adder why are they mad?"bazz asked catching lazuli offguard as adder stepped forward holding his nephew very close with a look of fear across his face and anger. Weiss for one was caught offgaurd by this seeing him with that kid her and onyia saved all that time ago.
"I..uh…i can't really explain bazz. Look maybe you go find your mother and play with your friend melody"adder advised catching them even more offguard. Though the crunching of snow could be heard as approaching them was a specific three people.
The first being emie who was now wearing a purple winter coat with tan fur on the hood. With fire dust woven in to keep her from freezing because of her cold blood.
Next to her was tempest crosby who was in her usually attire but sporting a black winter trench coat with tan fur on the collar wearing a black beanie with a storm cloud pin on it. With her was melody in a pair fo black tights with a blue skirt along with wearing a grey sweater. And she wore a stocking cap with a bright yellow scarf.
"Little brother what are you doing over here?"emie asked walking over
"Yes because for starters mr. jay a little rude for your nephew to run off"tempstas said before glancing toward the group going wide eyed. She looked directly at weiss who stared at her as the women gasped.
"Weiss?"tempstas asked which made emie ears perk up as they all froze up. Weiss was confused for a moment how she found out.
"What me…no..i..um i'm natalie louve. You must have me confused for someone else"weiss said quickly coming up with a fake name.
Melody looked at her smiling walking over hugging her leg"yeah nice lady"she cheered as weiss felt a little content. But neptune noticed her hood got blown down.
"Uhhh your hood put it back up"neptune said as her pale skin went even paler before throwing it back up to hide her face. But it was already too late as tempstas walked over hugging her as her head was shoved near her bust.
"Oh its nice to see you again. Does that mean eria and you escaped your kidnappers?"tempstas asked overjoyed.
Lazuli was stunned hiding her weapons real quick"uh..um..uh yeah we totally saved her. Though uh why don't you keep it on the down low. Rather not have them come after her again"she said very nerovusly right now.
Carmen looked very tense right now"yep, though uh who are you guys exactly?"she questioned
Adder backed up still on the defense as bazz was trying to get down but he wasn't letting go. Because he needed to make an escape before they told his family who he works for. If they do she'll kill them and him included, he can't risk being caught.
Emerald noticed this lifting her coat slightly to his direction revealing her weapons in pistol mood. Tempstas dusted herself off as she offered a hand.
"I know some faces here except for a few. One of them being a certain girl who made a my son girlfriend sister run away."tempstas growled looking at emerald looked away rubbing her arms at that with an upset look. She knows she messed up here with some people but she getting sick of this song and dance. Because she cared about cinder, and one of her killers is here infront of them.
Neptune was the voice of reason"easy she got good news on where she going. Apparently she in mistral somewhere don't know where though"neptune reassured which it slightly did but she kept her guard.
Bashira walked over holding luna as the tot had snow in her coat as she made a fussy face wanting it out.
"Oh heyya miss crosby been a while"bashira greeted making tempstas go wide eyed.
"Wait bashira…why are you here? And for starters where have you been my son team and your two teammates have been wondering where you were"tempstase asked
"Been in the patch my brother wasn't letting me leave home"bashira replied
Though emie stepped forward looking at weiss directly before hugging her catching them all very muchoffguard. Weiss was confused by the women sudden embrace wondering if she was here to kill her.
"Uhh hey lady aren't you being a little too close for comfort?"carmen asked about to push her away until emie revealed something.
"Thank you for rescuing me and my son from those slavers along with that wolf faunus help"emie cried a little catching them all offguard. Adder especially right now looking very confused what he just hear. Bazz soon got free from his uncle grip as emie released her hold as bazz hug weiss legs.
"Your one of the two nice ladies along with the man with lynx ears"bazz cheered as his tail swayed around curling up a little.
Lazuli raised an eyebrow"Wait…a minute didn't my brother tell me how he ran into that blair chick and shcnee. Along with stopping slavers employed under jacque schnee"she thought to herself but kept her guard looking at adder the entire time.
Weiss smiled hearing that"oh your that women me and onxyia ran into back in vale long ago. Surprising to see you here"she replied
Emie chuckled"hardly if weren't for you two i wouldn't be here today. Probably in some mines….or worse"she replied before clenching her arm very tight a little. Bazz let go before him and melody ran off somewhere to play as bashira decided to keep an eye on them.
Their was an awkward silence as adder kept a straight face the entire time trying hard not to kill the people infront of him to save his family.
"So uh why exactly are you here weiss? Shouldn't you be back in atlas with your father, mother and siblings?"tempstas asked but weiss flinched slightly from that suggestion as her scarred back said otherwise.
Neptune decided to cover for her"oh uh actually were trying to keep her hidden. They just got back here yesterday"he quickly replied
"Why do you need to do that?"emie questioned hissing slightly.
Nina had snickers in her arms while carmen was holding luna for a moment. But the horse faunus was struggling because the tot wouldn't stop trying to bite her hands right now.
"Can you stop trying to bite me!"carmen shouted annoyed as luna bleeped before nomming on her hand causing her to yelp almost dropping her. Tempstas chuckled taking her wagging a finger infront of her.
"Now that isn't nice, i'm sure your parents wouldn't like you doing that"tempstase cooed
Nina chuckled sighing"oh well my dumb son dravan daughter seems to be rather bity at her age"she replied catching tempstas offguard. She stared at the older women for a long time confused hearing her say her close friend dead relative name.
"That prepeteous. Dravan hayley was declared dead five years ago?"tempstas stated knwoignly.
Lazuli chuckled slightly"uhhh actually for starters don't know if i've introduced myself. I'm lazuli blackburn"she said shaking the two women hand reaching adder as he hesitated at first.
"Little brother what you getting cold feet over here? Or blood"emie joked, he tried to think of an excuse but took her hand still with a worry look.
"Pleasure to meet you, adder jay"adder greeted using his fake last name as lazuli smiled squeezing a little too hard on his hand emphazing something. That she knows it him.
"Oh same here, though if your wondering how i know them. I'm princess ice queen leader cousin"lazuli said as tempstas sighed still holding luna who was reaching for the women hat.
"Then stay clear of gasper diner. He really doesn't like your cousin at all still blaming him for…tanner death"tempstas saldy said with a visible upset look right now. Surrpignly adder looked away from her with a guilty look which emerald noticed surprised a little.
Weiss sighed rubbing her arm"thats still upsetting though were not lying. Their uncle was alive and right now getting surgery for something"weiss said
"Oh really for what?"Emie asked joining in not really knowing her their talking about but was interested.
"His arm guy lost it actually. spent all night last night making it for him."emerald answered then luna was trying to break free of tempstas grip because she wanted one thing that was her parents. Nina chuckled seeing her fussy behavior.
"Dear why are you being so fussy?"nina asked
Luna made a pouty face"i want mommy"she demanded as nina took the young faunus deciding to go do that right now. Not before leaving snickers with the group as carmen held the leash. The dog looked at the horse because she could handle this besides a baby. The dog just roamed around in the snow for a bit sniffing around.
"So despite that i'm guessing you don't want the newsoutlets here right now. So shall we call you natalie?"emie asked
Weiss nodded"yes please though…what are you doing in argus?"she questioned nervously glancing toward adder the entire time who kept eyeing her with the evil eye. Emie noticed this yanking him down toward her level by the collar.
"Ah! What are you doing dear sssister?"adder asked as she frowned at that.
"For one stop adding extra s when you ssssspeak"emie started which surprised some that he even did that when he speaks. Lazuli thought it was just how snake faunus talk.
"Second quit giving her that look. I understand you…sorry for having to say this. Not really like schnee but i'm rather grateful to the one good one who saved me"emie stated as adder looked away just wanting to bolt out of here.
"Well her brother aint a bad guy either or her little brother..hes a little easy on the eyes"carmen casually said before turning flush realziing her mistake.
"What did you say?"emerlad question because they all heard that from the horse faunus who felt very embarrassed right now. Carmen just covered her face hiding her blush as lazuli snickered slightly but kept a steady hand near her weapon.
Tempstas snickered slightly"funny to here that. Though i need to go keep an eye on my daughter maybe later we should talk later"She said walking off toward her daughter along with bashira. But bazz ran back over smiling a little with a bright smile like the sun.
"Is the other nice lady with you?"bazz innocently asked as weiss kneeled down to his level.
"No she back home right now in menagerie. Probably smiling right now or doing what a huntresses in training does"weiss answered but noticed a smug on his cheek as she licked her finger reaching over to wipe it off.
But immediately adder snatched him up as he reached for his wiastside that had one of his pistol he carried just incase. All of them were slightly offguard but he held his nephew close wanting to protect him.
"Don't touch him, i don't care really believe that some dam schnee rescued my family. When they were the ones who ruined it"adder spat with venom and malice directly toward her. Weiss felt a little hurt by that glaring a little under her hood. Lazuli was getting very ticked off right now as she quickly reached to his side grabbing his pistol in hand. The thief quickly unlloaded the magazine handing it to emerald who pocketed it.
Emie went wide eyed"Adder! I thought you promise me that you woudln't bring that out of the house"she said very disappointed.
Adder looked terrified right now"sis look..i…i don't really trust them alright. They could be here to take you back to that father of her"he replied but this just upsetted weiss a little sending her over the edge.
"I rather not associate myself with someone that abuses his own kids by whiping them!"weiss cried in rage as her tail thrashed under her coat catching him offgaurd. Especially giving her a weird look, but soon weiss went wide eyed at letting that slip out.
"What are you talking about?"neptune asked shocked
Weiss froze up hugging herself"n-n-nothing…i..i..mispoke is all…n-nothing at all"she replied stuttering a little before emei narrowed her gaze for a moment.
"Why don't we head off somewhere to talk privalty. I know of a place"emei suggested as they nodded at that following the women. But adder seemed very interested on what she said, wondering if she lieing.
Though early in the clinic right now before this whole scenario happened someone was slwoly stirring awake. That beng yang because she felt very cold right now like her body heat was stolen from her. Though she felt it slowly hear up again as she could feel herself waking up opening her eyes. She groaned getting up into a sitting position which she greeted as she felt the room spin grabbing her head.
But noticed something in her hand being a needle that led to an ivdrip but her entire body felt very sore right now along with her neck like someone stabbed her.
"I would take it easy if i were you?"a mans voice said yang turned her head and noitced whitley standing infront of her with a clipboard.
"I'm sure you don't know who i am but i'm related toa certain ice queen on your team"whitely said crypically as yang shook the dizziness off for a moment.
"Wait a minute…you wouldn't happen to be related to weiss shcnee right?"yang asked grogigly
Whitley nodded"that me and for starters. You must be one of those two sister on her team. Let me guess…ruby"he smugly said as she rolled her eyes
"I'm her older sister, do you have the ice queen cold personality?"yang retorted as he chuckled setting his clipboard down.
"Not exactly i do sometimes. Though if your wondering where you are right now your in a clinic in argus. "Whitley answered but yang had another thought cross her mind if the others were okay.
"Wait are the others okay?!"yang shouted to the heavens as he was about to answer. But then the door slide open to the room as the two turned toward the source of the noise. It revealed raven panting heavily before particularly sprinting over pulling her daughter into a loving embrace as her head was shoved into her chest.
"Oh thank remnant my little dragon is alright"raven said happy which made yang blush embarrassed a little. But returned the embrace weakly though.
"Nothing won't put me down so easily mom"yang replied as a few of the others walked in on the two. Eria sighed in relief right now walking over pulling a chair up sitting close to her beside.
"Thank remnant your okay. Rather not lose beacon academy second best punmaker"eria coldy said earning an annoyed look from the blonde.
"Hey i'm the best around, grimmy boy was mediocre. Because its the year of the yang"yang punned as they all groaned at the very bad pun.
"Bad pun, very bad pun seriously the worst pun i've ever heard"falk stated firmly on it.
Calida chuckled slightly sighing"oh lighten up some humor will do you all some good right now though. How are you feeling right now dear?"she asked eyeing something which confused yang a little. But her neck felt a little off like it was heavier on one side.
"I'm doing great actually a little sore in the neck. But anything happen while i've been out"yang asked
But all of them stayed sleintly at her saying her neck felt weird mainly being because on the right side of her neck it was a little swollen right now. Like their was a giant bee sting on her neck that left two puncture hole scars.
Falk leaned back in disgust a little"you sure your feeling alright blondie…because your neck must really hurt"he tried to clue in.
"Uhh duh because some snake guy bite me, though…"she stopped recalling the incident for a moment. She vidly recalled someone saying her last name making her try to piece it together before it came to her.
Yang growled as her eyes flickered red for a moment"i got bite by that dam snake faunus adder tannin! Hes here in argus probably that sabtour!"yang roared as her eyes where crimson making whitley jumped back slightly, his sister told him what happens when she gets anger.
"Umm please don't destory the clinic my employer will be very mad if you do "whitley warned as yang realzied her mistake before taking a few deep breaths to calm herself down.
Raven sat on her beside staring at the thing on her daughter neck trying to figure out how to best explain it.
"Look yang…dear i need you to be very calm right now"raven warned confusing her right now.
"Why?"yang replied confused as eria held out a small pocket mirror in hand.
The princess bite her lip slightly"lets just say that adder didn't just leave a bite mark. Because well do you know what happens when a snake bites you?"she asked hesiaitng to even hand her the mirror.
Yang scratched her hair for a moment"uhh you get sick if their venomous or posionoius i know that. but.."She stopped pausing rubbing her neck on the right side for a moment. But it felt very off like it was lumpy as she felt around it for a bit with slightly wide eyes.
"Why does my neck feel bigger?"yang asked as all of them got very silent on the topic. Heisanlty eria approached her handing her the mirror but then bolted immediately out of the room as did the others. While raven stood their keeping her stoic nature wondering how her daughter will react to this.
Yang hesaintly used the pocket mirror to look at her neck but regretted it immediately. The blonde went wide eyed seeing a giant pulsing lump on her neck like a giant zit was their. The blonde jaw went slack as she began to slowly put pressure on the pocket mirror.
In the hallway right now alex was their with a clipboard in hand because he was coming to fetch whtiley for some help preparing dravan for surgery right now. But noitced the others outside the room.
"What are you all doing out here?"alex questioned as they turned to him
"Preparing for the apocalypse right now before she blows up whats on her neck"falk admitted actually scared to see her anger.
Eria nerovusly laughed"yeah because that girl has three rules don't touch her bike"she begun
"Don't mess with her family"whitley said as all of them said in unison.
"Don't touch her hair"all said making the doctor laugh thinking this must be some sort of praticual joke.
"Nonense i'm sure it'll be–"he was stopped as an ear bleeding shrill scream could be heard from the room yang was in. the scream echoed through the halls even through the busy streets of argus. Along with even the neabry woods as a deer was even spooked by the blonde scream rushing off in the other direction. Birds flew away cawing for a bit as in the room yang eye was twitching a little.
"What the hell?! That dam snake left some giant zit on my neck!"yang said completely destroying the pocket mirror in hand crushing it. Raven sighed rubbing her eyes.
But then she walked over flicking her daughter upside the head which caught her offgaurd a little.
"What was that for?"yang questioned before she had a figner pointed in her face.
"For being reckless. I was told what happened you rushed ahead and didn't wait for backup. I understand you wanted to try and stop the sabtour by yourself. But you could have died if they didn't bring you here on time"raven reprimanded as yang looked down rubbing her arm
The girl knew she should have waited for them to catch up but didn't want to risk the sabtour who seems to be adder judging from the weapon and how emerald knew whos gas that was.
"Look i..i know…but i just wanted to stop the guy. Though falk was behind me still but guess the guy got knocked off"she said
Raven stared down at her daughter sighing placing her forehead against her as yang returned it.
"I know your a strong girl. Sometime i even see myself in you but please play it safe next time. I rather not lose you"raven said motherly as yang nodded. As the other walked back alex was writing down on his clipboard right now as he greeted her.
"Ah you must be . Seems you got alot of energy to scream that loud you got some vigor to you"alex greeted as yang sat up straight with a very perturbed look across her face about the giant lump on her neck.
"Well when i see a giant lump on my neck i'm going to scream"yang replied
Falk crossed his arms huffing"that an understatement because no offense i think i'm deaf now. All i hear is ringing"he said patting his ear to get hearing back as he could hear a faint ringing noise.
"Well i would be shocked too though despite that. "Whitley said before gesturing her to sit up since she was in a patients gown right now. Then he had her extend her arms along with doing a few small test. Mainly to test her reflexes having her walk back anf forth across the room several times as he jotted notes down. While raven despite being stoic was also a worry wort when it comes to her family.
"So how is she? Is she safe to leave or travel?"raven questioned as whitley jotted some notes down nodding.
"She may need another day of rest right now. With that bump on her neck it'll take another day at best. But right now she fine and just needs to rest right now. Along with…"he was stopped but a sudden noise that being yang stomach as it rumbled loudly. The blonde didn't even feel embarrassed by it shrugging her shoulder.
"That i should maybe get something to eat. Because for starters i feel like nora when she eats a light snack"yang joked earning a few laughs.
"True though you should go shower off real quick your clothes are over their."alex said gesuting to her clothes that were neatly placed atop fo each other. Grabbing her clothes then walking barely down the hall toward the showers.
The others waited for ther as she slipped inside the shower which was a simply shower with a curtain for some previous along with a sink as the shower space was pretty large where the shower head was overhead.
She noticed the shampoo and hairsh in the shower along with a backscrub for her. She stripped out of the gown she sore and turned on the shower as the water came down from the shower head. After adjusting the temperature for a bit and carefully stepping in the shower. The warm water hit her naked form making he give a sigh of relief mainly being she finally getting an actually shower after two weeks of being on the road.
Her body got wet from the water as she began to scrub her body down with the bodywash making sure to get everything nice and soapy. Once she did opening the bottle squeezing the content on her hands using the scrub brush also to clean herself down from the smell of death.
It took her some time but she was able to wash herself up then came the next task her hair. Because they'll be pretty mad at her because she has a routine with it as she decided to do it. The girl got the shampoo beginning to lightly scrub her hair down getting it nice and soapy. After about a half hour of washing her hair she was done then began to pat herself dry.
A knock came to the door guessing it was someone"Are you down in their because its been forty minutes?"raven asked very worried.
"I'm fine doing my hair"yang replied as a loud groan could be heard on the other side. After some time she got finished drying offf as she slipped on her clothes that were thanfkully clean now after all that dirt and grim. Then she eyed the ribbon in her hands as her mind wandered slightly sitting their clothed.
That being blake because for starters she wants to head to havan right now to check up on her sister right now. But part of her made her worry about something that being if her girlfriend was even alive right now. She glad that weiss is here safe and sound, but hearing that grimm knight attack her teammate and girlfiend home worries her. As she sat their sighing pocketing it remerging int he hallway.
"Finally seriously i thought we were going to die of old age"falk said releived.
Raven chuckled sighing"she has a routine for that hair of hers. Though since your hunger lets head to the lunch room here"raven advised as alex guided them through the halls toward the room. The floor was made of wood along with the entire place seeming to be made of hardwood. It all looked very well made with red wallpaper above it.
"So anything happen while i've been asleep?"yang questioned
"Nothing much. Right now my uncle will be going through surgery to get a replacement for his arm"eria answered smiling right now which peeked yang interest a little.
Alex nodded at that"yes though since it has been about five years since his nerves have been disconnected. It'll be very tricky to do though i'm not one to shy away from a challenge. Gotta one up my competitor"he snakrly said making calida laugh.
"Come on alex, you two are more like friendly rivals. Both of you make prosthetics but your both good friends"Calida countered
"Hes got you their, though…how has ame been lately?"eria asked concerned.
The doctor was silent for a moment as they kept walking nearing their desitnaiton. He had a rather distant look on his face mixed with rage right now. Alex took a deep breath exhaling and inhaling for a moment rubbing his eyes.
"My daughter has been…a little troubled still everysince her leaders death. "Alex begun stopping for a moment dipping his head with an upset look.
Eria didn't really like that look guessing that zephyra and her are still very hurt about their leader death. For starters she happy to hear hers is alive but wondered something, she got lucky while a very good friend of hers was gone. Especially for her boyfriend they were like brothers.
"But uh she held strong trying to help her partner lead their team back in havan. I asked her to come home but she wanted to be their. Though i'm also very peeved off about something"he said with a rumble in his throat.
"What are you talking about?"falk questioned before infront of him another voice spoke up.
"My husband very mad at that psychotic girl who tore my daughter off that."nicole said walking forward peeking alex on the cheek lovingly before that clued them all in what he meant.
Calida sighed"Your not the only one shows mad at that girl."She replied glancing at eria prothseitc leg for a moment. Though eria froze up a little hearing rosemary be mentioned a little as that nightmare she been having lately rang in the back of her head.
"I'll find you again and take more than just your leg"rosemary voice echoed in her head as she shook slightly. Yang noitced her shaking a little placing a hand on her shoulder making the girl jump.
"You doing okay over here you were shaking?"yang asked concerned as eria knew that was a losing battle.
"S-sorry just still a little jumpy sometime hearing her be mentioned"eria admitted as they walked into the lunch room it had some tables for staff and patients to eat at. It was small at best but their was a small room in the back presumably the kitchen with a cook hard at work.
"I don't blame you dear, though it seems our foxy friend is doing better"alex said as miltia was already eating something that being some mashed potato with some chicken legs. Her arm and leg where banaged up in fresh wrap. Next to her was dravan in a patient gown already as his bulging muscle were too much for the gown. Their was also verona, winter and adam who had a cloak on right now.
Miltia and yang then made eye contact staring each other down for a moment.
"Your that blonde who threw me and my sister around at the club!"milita shouted as her tail fluffed up slightly
"That because some guy groped my butt that night!"yang retorted back as they laughed slightly at that. The blonde sat down as nicole walked to the kitchen and quickly returned with a tray of food that being corn, chicken, soup and a bottle of orange juice.
"Thank you ma'am"yang thanked as she picked up her utensil beginning to eat because she had a pit in her stomach right now after having a bite taken out of her.
"No problem dear, though do you two have history together?"nicole asked as the two girl eyed each other down. Falk knows what happened since the two brought it up last time they spoke how some blonde chick mopped the floor with them.
Miltia huffed crossing her arms"nothing much she just beat me and my sister up for doing our job"she said
"Well for starters you pissed my daughter off. When that happens their not stopping her until she clobbers whatever made her anger"raven warned making the malachite girl flinch at that slightly. Yang was eating her food taking a drink of the juice before asking something.
"Where everyone else?"she asked
Whitley was leaning against the table"oh from what we heard by the park close by. Their just getting some fresh air. Though.."he stopped before glancing toward dravan as alex was already talking to him.
"Though we need to get you to the surgery room. I know early you said you could handle it but we may need to chop part of that numb off to install the metal plate"alex warned but the jackal faunus waved his one arm at that.
"I can handle getting my arm cut off again it won't hurt i bet"dravan said cocky making his wife yank hard on his tail as he yelped holding it.
"Drav your being put under because if your not your sleeping outside if we stay another night here"verona said as he relented nodding in agreement for the procedure to be put under. Whitley nodded stepping forward not noticing the small puddle infront of him.
"Excellent lets head to the room a–"he was stoped as he lost his footing slighty before falling back as he touched the ground. Though something surprising happened as he touched the floor with his right hand a black glyph appeared. The person underneath it was falk who was sent flying into the ceiling hard. All of them were caught offguard by that but glanced up at falk groaning as yang recalled a familiar situation.
"I got it"yang said but then he fell down landing hard ontop her as the two were sprawled out.
"Or not"she added as eria just recalled the day during the foodfight how the opposite happened to someone else laughing a little.
"Oh well if the roles aren't reverse….though when could you summon glyphs?"eria asked surprised
"Yeah you said you could never figure them out?falk added
Winter sighed smiling"we'll explain later weiss will wanna hear it i'm sure. But you should head off to surgery"she said as the jackal faunus nodded being escorted by the two away from the place. Though absence from the group was oscar.
Because right now he was walking through the halls toward alex office was oscar. Who gripped the door seeing it was lock but knelt down pressing his ear against the door producing a lockpick. As he had ozpin guide him as he began to move the tool around for a bit, he heard one click, then another and finally a third telling him he unlocked it. But he was confused
"Why do you want me to break into his office?"oscar asked
"For starters something i did before beacon fell. I figured that we'd be coming here so i had it shipper here"ozpin replied
Stepping inside the office it was a simple office with a bookshelf and a wooden desk. Along with several medical posters in the room, books on prothsetics, medical knowledge and several others. Flipping the light on to the ground he walked toward the desk. Glancing at a nearby picture that showed ame with her prosthetic arm saying congratulation with a proud looking alex and nicole.
Oscar smiled seeing that but then looked around the room for a bit until he noticed a safe close by. But before he could even touch is someone cleared their throat.
"What are you doing in here young man?"alex voice piped up as he glanced toward the doorway with raven by his side.
"I..uh…i wasn't doing anything"oscar quickly replied but alex chuckled at that walking as raven closed the door behind them. The man walked over shaking his head.
"For starters your a terrible lier. I'm assuming your here for whatever in my safe"alex replied surprising him how did he know. But ozpin in his head chuckled slightly.
"It seems raven told him, you can trust him his ancestor was a very good friend of mine"ozpin reassured
Oscar sighed in defeat"well its just i'm sure you received something from someone long ago"he replied as alex nodded before producing a key unlocking the safe door. Then he opened it to reveal something that only ozpin knows what is it.
That being his cane in standby mode. Alex grabbed it handing it to oscar as he soon felt a rush suddenly enter him almost like he held that very same cane over and over again.
"This feel…oddly familiar"oscar replied
"Thats because it is. A cane someone in my family made a very long time ago given to a certain man."alex replied
"How many lives have you lived?"oscar though.
"More than i like to recall. Come we need to let get to work on giving dravan his arm"ozpin said. Oscar stored the cane in his bag walking in the hall as alex sighed.
"Very surprising to finally have that cane owner come retrieve it. But treat it well its lasted generations at this point"alex advised as he nodded as he walked off to start the surgery while raven smirked a little.
"Finally got that dumb cane again. Weren't surprise you wanted to head here first always have something up your sleeve"Raven said as they joined the others.
But across town right now at a small coffe shop was weiss and company. The heiress kept her face hidden right now drinking a cup of coffee. But not with them was bazz and tempstas with melody since emei said he could spend the night at her house. Their was a long silence the entire time as they had coffee. But lazuli kept an eye the entire time on adder who seemed rather nervous but intrigued.
As they sat in silence as weiss drank her coffe soon someone broke it.
"So anyone going to ask the obvious question, we've been here for twenty minutes"neptune asked earning a glare from bashria slightly.
"Kinda hard to explain right now since we were trying to keep it hidden"bashira countered which made weiss feel a little guilty. Her tail drooped in her coat as carmen sat close next to her on guard at all times.
Emei drank her hot coco setting it down"well for starters why exactly did you exclaim that early?"She asked softly
"Why should we care? Because she probably lying daddy little girl trying to gain sympathy from faunus"adder hissed as she growled a little hearing him say that, she has half a mind to out him for starting the fall. But part her told her not too.
"Hes not my father…he can burn in hell for what he did"weiss said as her throat closed up a little. Lazuli crossed her arms propping her feet on a nearby chair, keeping an eye still.
Adder rolled his eyes"oh really? Where your proof that your father even branded his own kid. Because i have proof your dam family branded mine"he hissed standing up pulling his shirt up to reveal the tenpointed snowflake on his side. Emei pulled it down as her eyes darted the room.
"Stop it…you know some people hunt those down with SDC marks."emei warned
"I've never heard of anyone doing that?"emerald questioned
"That because atlas hides it, like they always do everything. Along with letting that bastard jacque get away with slaver labor. Do you know what your father did to my family"adder said standing up making them react slightly as emerald reached for her weapons but soften her gaze knowing this recalling him talking this with their time as salem servants.
Weiss sat their staring at him as her eyes peeked out staring into his reptile like eyes.
Emei tried to pull him down"little brother calm down please don't s-"she was stopped as he slammed the table.
"My parents were killed by slavers, then we got sold to your family mine. All…all i had left were my sisters…frida is dead because of your family"he contineud surpriing them as tears began to form in his eyes. Lazuli was surprised some harden killer would be crying but understood where hes coming from, but kept a steady hand on wisp.
Adder had so many emotion right now because salem might kill him now but he finally had the chance to give this upper class brat a piece of his mind. Then he pointed a finger directly at her face.
"Those dam SDC guards cornered her trying to assault her…b-but no when she bite one of them. They slit her throat…while i watched…i already killed those two sick bastards. Whats me from killing the girl right infront of me related to that devil. Who doesn't even know the pain faunus went through, who probably just as heartless as her father"adder said with anger and tears right now. They sat in silence for a moment as weiss sighed rubbing her eyes.
"Is detective knight have a house in argus?"weiss suddenly asked
"Why do you wanna go to some crummy detective?"neptune asked
Carmen thought for a moment nodding understanding what she doing"Him and his partner got their own place here. Your sister visits their alot…guessing you wanna show…it"she asked as she nodded. Leaving and paying for their drinks it wasn't long till they got their. Funny enough it was the same apartment complex that winter was staying in.
"Of course its here, eh might as well see the good old copper"lazuli said as they walked inside. Traveling up a few floors they reached a few floors higher than winter apartment. Carmen knocked on the door as it took a bit till someone answered.
"Ughh who is seriously its my day off i don't want to hear about some dumb scam"nancy said opening it to reveal her in blue jeans and a grey t-shirt of some punk rock band being days of mania.
"Come on nanc not even say hi to someone you two chased around"lazuli said as the bunny faunus was surprised laughing slightly.
"Well heyya kid guessing your here to say hi to henry"nancy replied letting them in surprised by the large group. Once inside surprisingly it was a clean apartment with similar structure to winter apartment. But their was one gleaming fact the giant bulletboard with several lines and picture on it. Most of which showing the thirteen knights of grimm, a picture of rogue hayley with the words"missing still". Their was also another one obseucred by your view.
But the grizzled detective known as henry knight was in the process of eating some chinese takeout glancing at the group. While he wore some simple black jeans with a white tanktop showing off his build.
Henry glanced at lazuli who waved playfully at him as he groaned setting his chopsticks down.
"Kid you better have a good reason coming here?"henry asked cracking his back. Weiss then pulled her hood back which caught the two offgaurd a little. Then the detective sighed.
"Guess that the reason though who the heck are these two?"henry asked gesturing to the tannin siblings. Adder felt very nervous they lead them to some detectives as he eyed the board with one directed toward Team BRAS. luckily his picture showed his face covered up.
Carmen sighed"for starters lets just say weiss here wanted to show them something"She advised as she gently placed a hand on weiss shoulder. She knew what to do tossing her coat off which relieved her arctic wolf tail catching them offguard.
"Uhh whats with the tail?"nancy questioned pointing at the appendage
Adder scoffed"Wearing faunus traits like some accessory probably just some stupid clip on"he said yanking very hard on the tail making weiss yelp in pain as her tail swayed around as she held it rubbing it. The snake went pale from feeling it.
"Hey buddy learn not to touch a ladys tail"bashira spat to the confused adder.
"Why did it feel real…why did that thing feel real?"he questioned as emei gently touched it going wide eyed herself.
"Okay never expected to see this…how did this happen?"she aksed as weiss sighed pulling the faunus heart out. Then quickly explained how it works which henry backed up hearing about that artifact. Then she did one other thing as she pulled her shirt up to reveal her back. It was complete silence as neptune flinched slightly seeing several deep scars on her back. Emei gasped a little shocked herself as adder stared at it in confusion.
"Your not the only ones he branded"weiss said shaking a little as nancy pulled her shirt back down hugging her to comfort her.
Lazuli rubbed her arms for a moment"how has your digging been going on those charges?she asked as henry flipped the board around. It showed a picture of jacque schnee white hair and all. Weiss and even adder were anger seeing his face as her scars burned on her back. While his SDC brand burned as well.
But it showd several pictures of him along with the conditions of the mines he operates. Along with a couple recording device on it with a picture of whitley scared back. Emei was shocked by all this.
"What is all this?"emei questioned as henry sighed before playing something on the tv. All looked as it showed the punishment weiss recived the night of the gala. How jacque gave the two the option of one of them sharing the lashes. Adder watched intently as it actually showed him whipping his own kids which made the cold bloody killer shook a little.
Weiss flinched clinging to nancy for comfort hearing each crack of the whip in fear. After a few minutes it stopped before henry placed his hands together.
"For starters we've gotten a pretty good lead with this info. James even put your mom and brother in the care of councilman wilkins. Though….these two aint spies of his"henry asked lifting his shirt up revealing his gun.
Lazuli thought for a moment sighing"nah ice queen here saved her and her son from slavers. We just wanted to prove to snake boy here that not all schnee are bad"lauzli answered surprising them.
"Good because that guy is the only bad one. "Nancy replied still comforting weiss. Adder stood their for a bit before closing his eyes leaving the room. Lazuli walked after him as the two where in the hallways. Then he stared at her with a broken look.
"Let me guess next up your gonna tell her what i did?"he asked knwoignly as she had the opposite.
"Were talking later. Because one of us is getting surgery right now i'll tell you when to meet. I got question i want answered"lazuli demanded as he weighed his options nodding agreeing to it. After that they went their separate ways as emei was still shocked but they said they'll call later. As they separate adder just had several thoughts cross his mind, but he hoped salem won't think he turned to the otherside. Because he always get the job done.
It seems some interesting things happened here mainly with whitley having his glyphs in this universe. But it seems that adder has a grudge against weiss but she revealed what her father did to her shocking him and his sister. Though it seems lazuli has some questions for this snake.
