Chapter 86:Surprises
It was a bright new morning in the belladonna household as everyone was mainly up and already had breakfast. But in the hallway some of them heading to a specific room to wake some people up.
"So do you think their up yet or what?"jazmine aksed as her older sister shrugged her shoulder.
"I don't know buts it nice to have you back in the house again. I'm still sorry for not realizing sooner we should have helped our friend"blake replied looking down
Yang just wrapped an arm around her"come on kitty you realized your mistake, its what older sister do"she reassured
"Yes its fine dear, but i noticed his current mental state actually. I understand why your weary of him"kali replied
"For starter i hope you aren't here to kill him ma'am"zoey said salutating to them in her guard uniform.
"Hmm don't worry about that miss. Vix, it seems you returned to your duties"kali said as the fox nodded
"I am…i'm terrible sorry for what i said to you"zoey said looking at blake who waved it off.
"Don't worry about it, i'd be pretty upset if that happened to mine"blake reassured her
"Though since your up is my daughter, her girlfriend and your cousin up too?"katherine asked as the fox just smiled
"Hmm maybe but you should see this"zoey said slowly opening the door as aruna had a teasing look.
"Oh let me guess their cuddling with him"she cooed in hope.
Katherine covered her mouth laughing"if she did that she may get sick from that small fever he has, along with ruining the tube connected to the blood bag. But where is she?"katherien asked instead of telling them she decided to show them. She opened the door making sure their was no sound being made. Their was a sweet sight with onxyia kneeling laying her head on his chest sound asleep, she moved a little as his chest roze. While velvet layed next to her snoring peacefully.
"Dang it i thought i could mess with after she cuddled me on the ship"aruna grumbled as yang chuckled at hearing that.
"Though this is pretty cute after what happened last night"yang said
"Was she here all night?"blake asked as zoey nodded bur had a somber look, she decided to wake her up as she gently nudged them awake. The wolf opened her dual colored eyes as she yawned stretching her arm as a loud pop could be heard which satisfied her. As velvet groaned sitting up as her ears drooped over her eyes slightly
Onxyia yawned with her eyes half open"oh morning everyone did i sleep in?"she asked rubbing her eyes.
"What time is it because…i feel like its the afternoon"velvet asked lazily
"You did, were already having breakfast and we let you three sleep in. "kali replied
"Though how'd you sleep last night wolf ears and bunny ears?"yang aksed as she looked down upset.
"Better I guess….its just um nice to share a bed with someone i um love"velvet siad a little embarrassed uttering those words.
"I..slept okay but last night…he cried all night in his sleep. I should have helped him sooner"she replied upsetting as blake took action immediately.
"Its alright, everysince he got ran out of town and heard what we said. I'm sure hes upset but maybe some kindness might help cheer him up"she reassured her best friend which made her smile.
"She right maybe then he won't be so upset….like we siad before his mental health isn't the best"velvet replied
"Eh well if fish eater told us sooner he could have stayed day one. But if your wondering where he is.."zoey begun before someone appeared behind the group.
"I'm right behind you guys"Vance said making some of them jump back as some jumped out of their skin almost. The lynx snickered as he too was light on his feet.
"Gah! now i know how other people feel when we do that"jazmine said holding onto her sister who chuckled at that.
"Same here but how is he kath?"blake asked katherine who just patched his hand up, along with feeling his forehead.
"The transfusion worked, last night i gave him a couple aura booster. His fever is down but i'd like to get an MRI done."she replied
"What an MRI exactly?'jazmine asked
"Oh their like these machine that take scans of the bodie or something. Dad mentioned how they usually do them for brain scans or organs."Aruna replied as her tail swayed
Katherine frowned disappointed"thats percsily what that is, i wanna see if his brain suffered any damage from his near drowning. I'll apply some ontiment later to heal those bruises on his bodie, i could use my semblance. But he needs his rest"katherine replied
"Alright, i'll stay here to keep an eye on him. "Zoey said as she sat in a chair close by pulling out her scroll looking at it. They understood why she wanted to do it as they nodded in agreement. Onxyia and velvet quickly got into the shower cleaning up then came back out in her clothes that were dry.
They all walked back downstairs as onxyia noticed some people their already while some of them were gone. But she sat down eating some breakfast already made on the table
"Morning you three finally out of bed"colt greeted as vance sat down digging into his breakfast.
"Yeah but surprised to see alot of you here today"he asked
"We wanted to come check up on how things are going here"sun replied
Emerald nodded"though umm some of us seem very interest about the bed incident"she teased as onxyia blushed slightly as she noticed her father here who had a look of rage across his face. He didn't like how the they shared a bed as he grumbled to himself.
"Yes, explain to us why that brat climbed into your bed"declan asked fumming but they had a different version of the story.
"Actually she was the one who pulled him into her bed"coco corrected to the blairs shock looking at their daughter who was blushing bright red as her tail kept wagging like crazy.
Nadia just had a teasing look on her face leaning foward"Aww did you wanna hug him that bad after you two asked each other out"she cooed
"Try after she tried to kill ollie that night, didn't he talk you down from doing it?"yang asked recalling that night at the construction yard fighting a giant mech. Blake recalled it too because it sure was something.
"I recall that night, after we dismantled that mech suit they stole from atlas. You tried to kill him for using you but after we all tried to convince her. He said that all she'll be doing is stooping to his level"blake explained to some shock.
"Hmm what happened next?"aruna said kwowingly toward her cousin who whined slightly.
"Umm well later in the night i kinda…cried that night, he came to see if i was okay. Then i um as he was leaving…i kinda pulled him into bed..hugging him like a teddy bear"onxyia said blushing bright red as her tail kept wagging in a fluid motion. They all soon laughed at her while her mother and nadia messed with her along with calida.
"That what happened that night?"jazmine asked, laughing as neo kept giggling pointing at her.
"Oh man that morning was something if i recall"coco added
"What exactly happened the next morning after that?"katherine asked as she messed with her daughters ears.
"Oh my daughter told me this part…apprently her partner thought he assaulted her. Then he ran down the hall getting half dressed"caliida said making them burst into more laughter.
Nadia pounded the table as she held her stomach from laughing"oh my god…oh i'm going to pee…seriously thats just priceless"nadia said
Colt laughed drinking his coffe"your right, can't believe that happened to the kid. I pray for all your teasing when he gets better"he said
"Yeah well she probably shared it with them too on the account from firestarter mentioning her spending the night in their dorm room. Alot"cardin said making velvet blush dropping her utensil.
"I…um…shut up…god this is so embarrassing right now i wanna die"she cired with embrassment
With declan he laughed at that slihglty but was glad he didn't do anything to his daughter it seems. But he just looked at her seeing her emrbassed but smiling relizing how much she care about the boy.
"Its nice to hear that he didn't hurt you, but i'm sorry little cub prepare for your mother teasin"declan warned as already on it was her mother playing with her ears.
"Hmm maybe i will have grandkids soon…i wonder how soon '' Katherine teased, making onxyia just groan slamming her head on the table.
"Why don't you all tease those two they shared a bed that night too"onxyia said ponitng toward yang and blake. The two blushed slightly because they already did that already this morning.
"Oh we already teased those two plenty this morning, nows it your turn"kali cooed as they soon stopped messing with them, then finished breakfast. But on the table close to the living room sat a long weapons case along with remorse snapped in half. Along with the trunk.
"Despite those bed incidents, you brought Z weapons and that trunk"vance said
"I wanted to see if it can cheer him up, but that katana is pretty busted"nadia said looking at the snapped in half katana. Onxyia sighed because conri managed to destory that when she fought him, luckily rogue upgrade was still intact.
"I'm sorry…that he snapped it in half…thanfkully rogue upgrade is functionally"onxyia said which made calida have an idea.
"You know, my daughter will be pretty mad when she see him again. But she loves tinkering with weapons…maybe repairing that together might fix their relationship"she suggested which sounded great to them.
"That…not a bad idea, those two are partner probably for one reason their fascination with weapons"Cardin replied
"Alright but i'm gonna go bring foxy some breakfast, guessing she watching him"akata said fixing up a plate to bring her some food , then walked upstairs as the others talked.
"Okay but wheres auntie and uncle, are they working on the speech?"onxyia asked
"Yes they are, their just waiting for you and ."kali replied which made vance sigh in relief.
"Oh thank remnant because some of that stuff is messed up"vance warned which concerned them especially verona and declan.
"How…how bad are we talking? Please don't tell me it was something bad"verona begged as he looked down upset.
"It…it was..saw a couple of his on the way here. Their so called test..they locked him in a room with a grimm. Another…making him fight against the other grimm knights."he sadly answer but nadia went wide eyed in rage pulling out a stress toy squeaking it several times. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself down right now.
"I swear i'm going to rip that man mustache off and shove it down his throat"she declared her new goal in life.
Verona cracked her knuckles for a moment"oh i hope to meet him too…but shouldn't you two join them to get started on the speech"she asked as declan nodded deciding to take his leave along with vance but he said something interesting before he left.
"Oh vel show them that recording you took and look at the photo album and trunk gave him"vance said as the two headed off to the study. They were caught off guard by this glancing at the two velvet decided to pull her scroll out waiting for play the recording.
"What the heck so important about a photo album?"emerald asked as onxyia grabbed it flipping it open as nadia leaned over looking at it. Some others did just seeing several pictures of him with either the ace ops, carmine and mariana. But one stood out to blake that being his eleventh birthday showing him in a collar.
Blake soften her gaze"he wore a collar at atlas didn't he?"she asked as cardin nodded.
"Yeah, but uh we shouldn't really put one on him"he warned as they were worried for a moment.
"Why shouldn't we? Because i've met a few people who worn those dam collars before"verona asked as they told them something troubling.
"That women in the picture with blue hair. She told us he…he had severe panic attacks while wearing one for seven months straight. "Velvet answered which just shocked them that why they were against the collar.
Blake soften her gaze looking down"that's why he was against…it didn't cross my mind, i'm sorry"she apologized again
"Your alright, we don't really blame you for how you acted. Everyone is pretty scared of the guy now"cardin reassured her which it did slightly.
Katherine just closed her eyes sighing"thats very troubling…trauma can lead to panic attack occuring. I think we should avoid watching those videos around him, mentioning the lab or anything related to it"she warned as they nodded in agreement.
Colt and cardin brought the trunk as cardin placed the key inside, throwing it open to reveals its contents. They all crowded around slightly as they took in what their seeing. They all looked at the wide variety of items as some picked certain ones up. Onxyia reached inside carefully picking up the wood craving of beacon tower. She examined the fine craftsmanship.
"Did he make this because this looks very well made?"onxyia asked surprised because it looked beautiful.
"Yep apparently the guy took up whittling or something made alot of things. Seriously some of them very well made"may replied which made the wolf wonder what else hes done.
Calida picked up the knife unsheathing it"well i'm guessing he made this. Because i've been around frosty long enough to know a very well made weapons"She said sheathing the knife setting it down.
Yang picked up a pair of nigthvision goggles slipping them onto her head."whats with all this military gear in here though"she said
"Yeah because seriously, why would he need a pair of nightvision goggles?"falk questioned digging through the stuff with care.
Katherine tapped her chin"though heres a question why do you have all this stuff? Because i'm sure he didn't have this with him in beacon"she stated knowingly.
"Oh well that bree chick came for a camp inspection. Told us she wanted his mom to have his things from atlas"cardin answered which made nadia feel very content hearing that. Gently she began to shift through the trunk surprised by all the items inside. She kept shifting around until some caught her attention that being some unopen letter. Nadia got curious as she opened one from someone named"Miller and Diaz and little june.
Nadia tore the letter open"dear , you may not know who i am or why i;m sending you this letter. But for starters i owe your son for saving me from dying before i had my wedding with my now husband. The youngblood earned me and the atlas spartans respect for what he pulled. Along with helping me and my husband adopt our daughter who he saved. Were sorry for your loss hope this letter get you to"she read aloud
Their was a couple pictures as she pulled them out showing several soldiers, a picture of miller and his family.
Neo looked very confused"it seems our cousin gained some of his guards in atlas respect"she signed
"Anyone else finding that a little weird because who are atlas spartans?"jazmine questioned
"Uhh those guys are like Ace Ops in altas but work under them. Their the best of the best from each division in the atlas army"sun surprisingly answered
Blake chuckled"how would you know about that?"she questioned
Sun picked up the group photo pointing to Bonnet"because that aunt i mentioned is in that group. Shes a black op soilder who works with ace ops personally"he said which made them look at him confused.
"Bullcrap he was some black ops soilders and this has to be all faked. "Sombra said in disbelief.
"She rights because this picture shows ace ops with some mysterious sixth member. Who i've never heard of"emerald added.
Though kali was digging through the trunk for a bit amazed he would have all this stuff. But something caught her eye making her go wide eyed as she then brought it out. The cat placed on the table his military outfit with the sparatan pin. Along with that skull balaclava mask
"I think their not lying because take a better look at that picture. This uniform is an extract copy along with that katana."kali commented pointing to remorse, all of them glanced at the photo seeing the similarities. Neo jaw dropped at hearing her cousin was some black op operatives. Onxyia just stared baffled hearing that but it made so much sense now. How he came up with all those strategdys so easily.
"Your lying, he just jokes around with bad puns. "Yang said in diesblief.
"She right though that pin matches with their unit. Ran into a few back in the anima a couple times"verona admitted shock herself.
"Come on this has to be a joke. Because he acts really stupid at time"blake said laughing slightly at this because she couldn't believe it
"Gotta stop you their. We couldn't belvie it either but the guy trained with ace ops and went on twenty two missions with them"cardin stated which shocked them by that statement alone. But some were actually impressed hearing this.
"Shut up"aruna said surprised hearing this, but also very intrigued
"Alright if you three are even still a thing…you've got the most interesting boyfriend here cousin"sombra teased slightly but the wolf laughed slightly with an upset look still.
"Okay that just put feathers cousin on number one for most interesting life"falk replied
Katherine did more digging before pulling something out, smiling slightly"I don't know who would think he's a monster with these"she said, placing a few picture frames down. It showed him volunteering at robyns homeless shelter, another of him helping miller through his therapy. Finally it showed him in his miltary gear passed out with a sleeping june hugging him for safety wrapped in his jacket.
Onxyia was caught offguard by all this surprised seeing this side of him. But felt content seeing all of this right now. Nadia smiled as she decided to tear open the second letter.
"Dear but you don't know who i am. My name is carmine alcus, wife of mariana tortgua. The reason your getting this letter and trunk are because you deserve your sons belonging. I already helped ruin a innocent child life helping perform those sick experiments. I'm sorry to hear the loss of your son again, and i'm terrible sorry for what i did. I'm sure he'd want you to have the contents within. I hope you can heal from your loss"nadia read outloud with a few tears forming.
They all were very caught offguard by all this stuff right now seeing this today. After thinking hes a threat, but he seemed to have alot of secrets.
"Despite all that…umm do you guys wanna see that recording we have?"velvet asked as they were intrigued what this was while some knew.
"Sure probably better than the falcon faunus when she played"yumi said as from behind her someone tapped her ontop of her head. She looked up seeing akasha standing their holding sorrel in her arms.
"I heard that you jerk"akasha said walking over sitting down holding him. As close behind was ilia who was trying not to get bit by luna. While running behind her was lavi and piper who ran around them for a bit.
"Ow…ow can you stop trying to bite me"ilia begged as luna bleeped at her but verona frowned at her taking her looking at her daughter.
"Luna hayley you behave yourself or you go in time out, say your sorry"verona said as luna just bleeped at her before hugging ilia who lips quivered into a smile. She sat down with them. Jazmine soon nabbed lavi and piper with neo help making them sit down as the two girls just played patty now.
"Let me guess you guys got baby sitter duty"sun asked pointing to the four kids
"We are, mainly because of what happened early this morning"ilia replied as luna layed against her.
"Why what happened this morning? Don't tell me theirs an anger mob outside the house"onxyia questioned.
Kali shook her head"no miss taupe came by early demanding for roland and his groups release. Also demanding to have our guest killed upstairs and that we shouldn't have saved him. "She replied
Neo puffed her cheeks up annoyed"pretty ungrateful still for bringing her dead husband bodie back"she signed
"Yes it is…i overhead him give that small pray for him. It seemed that knucklehead made sure a child didn't get hurt"katherine said smiling that her old friend did some good in the world. Nadia seemed to appreciate it too recalling how kind he was back in the day.
"Though fen his wife along with aunt nix are trying to disuade my mom. Sorry for her beavhior"sombra sadly replied, she didn't need to apologize
"Despite that i tried to show my musical talent, but the thought of my little ilia distract me"akasha said which made ilia spots turn pink as onxyia rolled her eyes.
"I'm pretty sure you played pretty bad…remeber that one time you tried to sing"she teased making akasha frown in disappointment.
Yang snickered"man, its weird how he never mentioned this back at beacon"she said
"Your not wrong he actually…never really talked about himself back at beacon"blake replied because some of the beacon students realize that. All of them were kinda shocked they never realized that back at beacon.
"Huh you know your right about that"coco added lifting her shades down slightly.
Cardin rubbed his neck"eh i think i asked him before but he avoided the question alot"he added
"I did a few times…but he just kept asking about me too"velvet said
Onxyia ears flopped over"your right, and i never actually asked him about hismelf. He always asked about me, god i'm a terrible girlfriend"she groaned whimpering slihglty as her mother rubbed her head gently.
"Don't be so upset just ask him when he wakes up and feels better"she reassured
"I did a few times…but he just kept asking about me too. Maybe asking him when he feels better will do some good"velvet added
Nadia nodded at that as she looked at velvet because she wanted to actually hear him play the guitar. The bunny faunus noticed this as she pressed play on the recording. They all sat their because soon enough the sound of someone playing the guitar could be heard. Velvet decided to flip her scroll over showing him by the campfire. To their shock it sounded very pleasant hearing something like this.
Aruna boped her head slihglty to the tune"he aint half bad its actually pretty good"she complimented
Sun nodded snapping his fingers to the tune"your not wrong about that he can rival weiss with her piano skills."he complemented
"Hmm maybe even perun, oh if my daughter sees this they'll freak out"calida added wondering how they would react.
Onxyia just sat in awe hearing this right now that he could play something so pleasant. It made her feel relaxed right now as she hummed the tune a little.
Neo was humming too"your right..it makes you feel relaxed with what hes playing"she signed
"Maybe we can do a song request if hes up for it"jazmine said as soon some had grins on their faces on what going to happen soon. Which blake noticed what they were scheming.
"Alright why are you all looking at each other like that?"she questioned
Akasha grinned as she rocked sorrel"who knows…just be prepared for a show of a life time"she crptyically warned them.
Yang chuckled placing her hands behind her head"what don't tell us my fellow punmaker is going to sing or–"before she finished the sound of someone singing could be heard as her jaw dropped. They all looked at the scroll seeing him singing to his heart content.
"Is..is he actually singing?"emerald said surprised by seeing this
"Man feathers is gonna flip out when she see this, hes got some pipes to him"falk complimented.
Katherine smiled at her daughter"i'm guessing that little song he wrote was meant for you, maybe he was gonna play it to apolgize to you"she said which made her daughter heart ache because she didn't even give him a chance.
"He was…he sang one to me which was really sweet. Sucks that I didn't get to hear the end when the dumb guitar string broke"velvet added disappointed she didn't get to hear the end
Blake hummed the tune because it was pleasant hearing this after what they saw last night"its very sweet…it kinda makes me forgot about what we saw last night" she said as the video continued for a bit until it slowly stopped. Before they could even talk someone spoke on the recording.
"So the dam murder know how to play, big deal doesn't make up for all the people he killed"a male voice could be heard. This caught them all off guard as the bunny faunus realzied she accidentally recorded that. As quickly some covered the kids ears.
"Thanks for the performance you dam freak, now get the hell away from us"another said
"Yeah, go back to your cage you monster. Rather not have you go on another killing spree"another added as a few more similiar comments came. This just upseted onxyia even more as she had a small tear escape her eyes. Velvet immediately shut it off immediately looking down.
"I'm..i'm so sorry i didn't realize i record that"she apolgized bowing her head but they didn't blame her.
"Your fine dear, though no wonder you all blew up on us that night"kali replied as a few of them nodded looking away. But nadia looked at onxyia who had tears slipping away as she just gently pulled her over into an embrace.
"If you wanna cry again kid do it on someone shoulder…you didn't know how bad it was"nadia said as onxyia didn't cry but just accepted the embrace composing herself for a moment wiping the tears away on the women shoulder.
"I'm..i'm fine…but what are we going to do now?"onxyia asked the obvious questioned because they didn't really know what to do today. They mainly just came to check on their friend but they don't know what else to do.
"Hmm i don't know you guys got anymore bombshells to drop on us about the guy?"yang sarcastically asked as velvet thought for a moment before snapping her fingers.
"Oh well um he inherited his semblance from his birth mother actually"velvet casually said which just made them all just look at her for a moment. They need to stop dropping this many bombshells on them today.
"Are you fricking kidding me?!"aruna shouted as this woke up sorrel who began to be a little fussy right now. Akasha groaned as she got up to take him somewhere to calm down. Ilia followed taking luna with her but they decided to process this.
"So that monster form of his was from his family side or something?"sun asked but cardin shook his head.
"Nope try the bug, pretty much the main reason he might have been kidnapped actually"he explained as nadia was shocked that why he might been kidnapped.
"Wait he took the kid for his semblance?"colt questioned
"For starters apparently his family last names is related to legacy known as the gravekeepers. People who have armor that emerge from their skin, they apparently went into hiding five hundred years ago. He got a family in vacuo saw two people matching his semblance. His aunt family probably"cardin explained to them
"You mean my best friend loki mom, my mom and her knew each a long time."sun commented
"Don't forget hes got an uncle their too. Along with an aunt in atlas actually and shockingly a uncle in mistral capital."may added which peeked some interest
"Wait…your saying my cousin actually could meet his family in mistral"neo signed excited for that possibility because it would be nice for someone in her family to have that.
Nadia just sat their stunned right now laughing a little because its been one crazy ride since shes adopted him. But hearing that he also still has some family out their was a shock to her, she couldn't find anything where they were.
"Oh my god my kid is part grimm, a black ops operative for atlas and part of some ancient linage. I'm going crazy"nadia said as they all felt like that right now.
"Yeah same here seriously someone pinch me if were dreaming"emerald asked as neo pinched the girl as she yelped slihglty as neo snickered at her.
"Man this is just something, he must have been shocked hearing this"sun asked
"Oh yeah he was and so were we"coco added
"You know kinda makes sense, i looked for any living relatives he had. But i found none i assume they died or something. "Nadia replied as they sat in silence for a suddenly the rushing of footsteps could be heard. Then from the doorway someone jumped down some stairs as it revealed a panting akata.
"Hey whats the rush fox tail did some–"verona begun but the fox had some great news.
"He awake!"akata said catching her breath. Immediately the first one up was onxyia who rushed upstairs in a black and white blur upstairs. They just looked at each other for a moment at what just happened.
"Huh guess she wants to give a smooch"yang joked as they laughed slightly. But immediately a few of them followed her upstairs to see how their friend was doing. Rushing down the hallway quickly as she leaped up the stairs as she slide a little. But onxyia quickly got to his room throwing the door open.
When she did it revealed zoey holding him close with an arm wrapped around him trying to calm him down. Because the heart rate monitor kept beeping faster and faster like his heart was ready to explode.
"Shh calm down, your okay…your somewhere safe take a deep breath"zoey shushed but he kept taking rapid breaths visible shaking right now. The fox faunus noticed her here but before she did anything. Onxyia jumped onto the bed pulling him from her arms into an embrace as his head was shoved into her bust.
"I'm so happy your okay, i'm so sorry for calling you a monster. Please forgive me"she cried with tears as she squeezed him too hard as he wheezed for air, then began to have a violent coughing fit. A few others arrived but katherine noticed some troubling, he was having a panic attack.
"Sweetie take it easy, he got hurt pretty bad last night. And i think hes having a panic attack"she warned which made the girl let him go with a look of shock. He was shaking violently in fear as sweat beated down his bodie.
"Are…are you okay?"she asked concerned, nadia began to walk over to his bed side to calm him down. But the other were shocked seeing him acting like this right now.
"Jeez i…never seen him act like this before"yang whispered to cardin who looked at the sight upset.
"Guess he pretty scared right now"he whispered back
"Sweetie you need to calm down, just take some deep breath okay"nadia said motherly trying to embrace him but he just backed up flinching to her shock as he kept shaking scared. This made them wonder if he lost trust in his own family it seems. Calida looked at him for a moment then all the people in the room because their was alot of them.
"How about some of you leave, because its quite crowded in here"calida advised as most of them left but it mainly left her, kali, katherine,onxyia,velvet, yang, blake, cardin, zoey and colt. Zane was still freaking out panting trying to keep calm as nadia just slowly approached him pulling him over in a gentle embrace stroking his head.
"You need to calm down, take a deep breath and relax"she shushed him as he took a few deep breath as tears streamed down his face.
"Do you need anything right now like something to drink, eat or.."yang tried to help but he spoke finally.
"Stop..stop trying to pretend you aren't here to kill me"he said stuttering to their shock but it was understandable after whats he experienced. Being almost killed twice must have finally gotten to him.
"Were not here to kill you, we rescued you last night before roland and his group killed you. "Blake calmly reassured.
Cardin nodded"yeah plus they finally know about bane"he replied which just caused him to freak out more as the heart rate monitor kept beeping.
"No..no…no i'm going to die"he said choking back small sobs, but his mother just muttered sweet nothings to try and calm him down.
"Dear relax, we know its safe the other explained to us that its safe. Also my husband working on a speech to make the faunus here not view you as a threat."kali reassured but katherine kept studying him diagnosing him right now. He just kept visible shaking hugging himself.
"Look just relax, if you were dead why would we even treat your wounds"yang pointed the obvious out, which seemed to calm him down slightly.
"She right because just relax not now and um.."onxyia began as nadia slowly handed him off to her as she pulled him into a loving embrace. But he kept shaking as she petted the back of his head.
"Did you hear what i said during CPR?"she asked as he shook his head.
"That i still love my dumb clown of a leader, and i'm sorry for calling you a monster. I was just mad…but i heard you fight an uras for me."onxyia said loving making him go wide eyed slightly that she even said that after the last five days. But he felt a little safe around her as he just layed his head against her shoulder.
"I..i..need to think about this…sorry"he meekly replied but she hoped for the best.
"Thats fine, i just hope we can patch things up"onxyia said still comforting him as vlevet hoped they can patch things up
"Anyway we also got some good news, we locked roland and his hunters up in jail for almost killing you"Cardin reassured but he asked for something unexpected from them.
"They…they did nothing wrong…just let them go"he begged meekly to their shock he would even suggest that right now.
"Nothing wrong? Nothing?! What are you talking about they almost killed you twice now"nadia said with worrie if he was losing it.
"Why…would you want them to be let go? Because they hung you by the neck and almost killed you by drowning you"velvet said confused
Yang just stared at him weird"yeah did the water get to your head and make you stupid or something"She said receiving a flick to the head from zoey as she rubbed the spot she hit.
"Hmm that is a possibilite too much water to the brain can cause parts of the brain to die from lack of oxygen"katherine replied which worried some that he may be mentally damaged. Kali took a seat on the bed staring at him.
"Why should we even let them go dear?"kali softly asked
"They..they did nothing wrong…they just wanted penance for me helping kill their loved ones. Just let them go please"he pleaded to their surprise hes even doing this. But kali just soften her gaze realizing why he wanted them to go free so bad. He think he deserves what happened to him.
"Okay we will let them out on one condition, your too stay here and rest today. It'll be nice to actually sleep on a real bed than in the woods"kali declared to their shock like she was crazy. Because the house could get attacked again like before.
'"Are you crazy? We can't let them go scott free like they did nothing"cardin argued as onxyia just held him close rubbing his head. But he began to gag a little as yang noticed it grabbing a nearby trashcan.
"Uhh puke into this thing"she said as onxyia pulled him off as he wretched into the trash can. But a black tar came from his mouth as it splatered into the bin. Yang gagged herself a little from the smell of the so-called vomit. She set it down as some stared at the black tar like substnace.
Zoey pluged her nose"okay what is this stuff did you eat a bunch of berries or something out their?"she asked
"Uhh looks like ink or something"yang said in disgust
"More like that stuff the grimm knight puke when those syringes are used on them"cardin corrected as a few weak hisses could be heard coming from zane as he groaned slightly. Katherine looked at his back seeing it bulge slightly guessing if hes sick the grimm in his back does too.
"Why don't you lay down and rest dear, then later we can get you something to eat"katherine said as her daughter gentle let him go as he slowly closed his eyes passing out. Kali looked at the others motioing for them into the hallway. Once outside she shut the door looking at them.
"Mom why should we even let them go, the house could get attack again"blake reminded as her mother crossed her arms.
"Look from how hes acting, he think he deserves whats happening to him. It might have finally gotten to him that he needs to be punished for being apart of the fall"kali said
"I noticed that too, but with those bags he was suffering from severe sleep deprivattion. Those videos we watched were probably PTSD even from the time in the lab. Their also depression. I'm guessing how upset he is and seems very untrusting."Katherine diagnosed Calida and decided to explain why kali wanted them to be let go.
"Also kali has a good point on letting them go, their scared of him. But if we let them go saying he released them"she said waiting for someone to finish for her as blake clued in on what they were talking about.
"That if we let them go it might help with the speech, its not a bad idea. I'll go help dad with speech to see how its going"blake said walking off toward her fathers study.
Zoey nodded"i'll head to the jail to discuss with saber about releasing them. Miss belladonna could you come with me to clear things up"she asked as kali nodded as the two went straight to the jail leaving them.
"So despite that i'll be here to keep an eye on his condition. But we need someone to keep an eye on him at all times"katherine ordered as colt volunteered to do it.
"I'll do it, i did it before when he was just a little kid"colt volunteered as onxyia was about to but hesitated as she thought about something deep in though. Yang looked at her for a moment.
"What you don't wanna pamper him all day to make him cuddle you again"yang cooed making the girl blush slightly because she was just as worse as her mother.
"I..i do…but maybe some of us can go into town. It was his birthday a while ago but maybe getting him some stuff will cheer him up"onxyia suggested as they nodded in agreement on doing just that.
Nadia smiled hearing that"that could work, its been a long time but i know some stuff he likes. But lets not throw him a party, he sick."she said
"I'll stay here and keep an eye on him. Maybe get some stuff that helps fever too like medicine or food"velvet replied
Calida nodded"and i'll stay here to keep an eye on him as well. I'll whip something up soon for him to eat. Plus it'll be nice to get to know my daughters leader more. "She said as they all agreed to on their current task. But unknown to them a certain drone was watching them as asani controlled it while sangie placed her hand on her earpiece. They were near a small forest as some soldier in civilains clothes were with her.
"Yohi we found the main target inside the chieftain house. But hes under watch how are you on tailing the winter maiden?"she said into her radio as soon he repsodned.
"Pretty good, i'm tailing them right now i'll probably jump em. Over"he replied in the radio as the women nodded before looking at asani whos masked displayed a scared emoticon.
"Umm what do you want me to do ma'am"she replied as the women smiled hearing that as she glanced at her faunus operatives with their group in disguises. Then she began to dig into her pack she brought with her as she pulled something out shocking her. That being explosives as she had a plan to complete her objective. Hold the entire town hostage and hand over omega and that uras over.
Seems the group figured out some shocking bombshells while they tried to come up with a plan. Along with that thinking of cheering up team ZERO leader from his depressive state. Though sangie has a plan for the island it seems. Thanks for reading!
