Chapter 96:Relaxation
It was a bright new morning on mneageire as Zane stirred for a moment as he opened his eyes for a moment as he wondered where he was feeling a little sleepy still but glanced around the foreign room right now…his room.
"Ughh where am i?"he asked with a groan.
"Your in your room or did you forget?"nadia replied in the doorway as he jumped slightly as she snickered.
"Funny…just still finding owning my own room new right now"zane admitted
Nadia walked over rubbing his head gently"well get used to it after were done with havan, you'll have a place to call home finally"she said sweetly making him like the sound of that having his own home.
"Though your room is a little bland right now, you could decorate today if you want?"nadia suggested
"I could but…i kinda move around for a bit. Hopefully not get…attack"he said shaking slightly as her motherly instinct kicked in as she embraced him.
"That won't happen. Besides lets have some breakfast or well make it because it hasn't been made yet"nadia said as he knew what she was doing.
"You want me to make breakfast don't you"he asked as she grinned patting him on the head. The women left as he sighed before hoping out of bed getting dressed up for the day, which took twenty minutes
Downstairs right now already up was most of the residents as the occupants from the cackling gull joined them for breakfast. Along with zoey who right now was all smiles enjoying a freshly brewed cup of coffee.
"Man i can't believe were finally rid of those stupid mercs"zoey cheered right now.
"I know right seriously they were starting to get on my nerves. How does he even employe those guys?"Colt asked
Asani was their in miltary gear messing with her helmet at the dinning table with a toolkit. With several tools strunned abouts the place right now as she was working on a hatch.
"Oh..umm..u-uh i o-overheard them talk about how they own several dust mines. Along with…s-selling firearms to the highest bitter"asani asnwered nerovusly as vance chuckled reaching to pat her on the head as she flinch slightly as he gentle patted her head.
"Well that we got but thanks cousin""vance thanked as it made her smile hearing that actually seeming to get used to having an actually family now.
"Man you took having a new cousin rather quick. When feathers hears about this she'll be very happy"falk added sitting on a couch right now. While emerald was tuning her sickles right now but struggling seems as she pressed the trigger catching them offguard.
"Whoa! Firearms are for the outside, not inside the house"Yumi warned then from the stairs someone spoke up.
"Hey! If you shoot my house up your paying for it seriously i'm not in the mood to dig shell casing out of my house…again"nadia said walking downstairs with her son right behind her. As neo was by the kitchen for some reason messing with her scroll humming to herself.
Emerald laughed slightly"my bad my pistols aren't working i cleaned the barrel but nothing, i'm trying to figure out whats wrong"she said examining it unloading the magazine placing it on the table.
Asani eyed it nerouvsly for a moment which yumi noticed for a moment snatching the pistols. Before walking over to her.
"Hey you think you can figure out whats wrong with this thing?"she asked making her slightly blush.
"Umm..i..uh maybe…i..w-was tasked on fixing firearms..and…delivering messages in the talon"asani said carefully examining the weapon for a moment as she slipped her helmet on then on her side showed the inside of the weapon as something flashed red above the trigger.
"The weapon has a loose firing pin, anyone got one?"she asked as zane was grabbing the cookware for today meal. But quickly zipped to the garage as he returned with a box of weapon parts placing it on the table.
"Here you go little sis i'm making breakfast"he said walking off to the kitchen to make breakfast. Asani felt slightly neoruvs with all the staring but ignored them the best she can as she grabbed her tools and carefully unscrewed the weapons side. Immedialty finding the problem as the firing pin was worn out. Carefully she replaced the firing pin making it fully connected then rescrewed the cover making sure it was tight. Then testing if it would fire they all heard a click, then tested it several times.
"T-their is should work now"asani said handing emerald pistols back to her giving an approving nod.
"Thanks. I've been meaning to get it fixed but haven't found the time lately."emerald thanked as asani masked displayed a happy emoticon. Yumi was curious about her mask for a moment.
"Though neat mask, what is that you used led display or camera?"yumi asked as the mask displayed a flustered look as asani removed it placing it gently on the table as she tapped her fingers.
"LED display…a-alot of people…said i..looked disgusting..so i hide my face"asani sadly answered as nadia didn't like that walking over hugging her pratciualry nuzzling her right now.
"Well they can stuff it because your adoabrle even with that little mark. Everyone here got their own little trait here"nadia reassured as the girl like this feeling a little not hearing abuse from people. After a bit of time zane was finishing up breakfast which consisted of scramble eggs with ham bits, along with some hasbrowns he was making. Though as he was cooking neo wondered something right now that ring as she tapped him on the shoulder.
"Hmm whats up?"he replied
"Where did you get that ring on your finger?"neo signed as he froze slightly as falk join in.
"Hey yeah, i noticed that on you guessing you found it or whatever. But never took you to wear a ring"falk added as cardin and vance eyed each other because that ring meant something to someone he was related to. Zane was finishing up the hashbrowns dumping them onto a few plates. Then he stopped cooking for a moment holding his right hand.
"Its..um..uh well from my mom"he answered catching them offguard nadia especially hearing about this.
"What are you talking about? Did you find her body or something did you travel to vacuo or something?"emerlad questioned sharpening her blades.
"Uhh no bastet came by because uh well…his aunt wanted you to have it auntie. But gave it to him, she even gave him the option to visit his real family, he refused"vance explained as the tiger was out of his sight but wondered why he would give up that chance to see his real family by blood, she wanted to know.
"Why didn't you visit them? I'm sure you could have said hi and talk for maybe an hour"nadia asked as he was fixing up everyone plates.
"They'll always be in vacuo, and we didn't have time. I might be able to meet a uncle of mine in mistral maybe.I wanted to make sure the family I grew up with was safe. Along with my mom and sister"he answered as zoey felt touched hearing that right now. But he coudln't see that nadia was trying very hard to not cry as colt chuckled.
"Your crying again when both of them called you mom the first time"colt whispered as she glared at him as she composed herself. But he soon slipped it off before walking over presenting it to his mother which confused them
"Dude what are you doing….you proposing to your mom?"falk joked making him eye him down
"No…bastet told me that apparent aunt of mine wanted it gifted it to her. I should have but…i feel like my new mom should. "He said as the tiger eyed it fighting the tears before slipping it on as she hugged him gently.
"Well i appreciate the gesture. If that women wanted me to have it i'll accept it. But when you two better gonna pop the question. I'm expecting grandkid now"nadia teased as both ker kids felt embarrassed
Colt chuckled"well come on walker it takes time for that type of commitment. But lets get today started."he enough breakfast was set as they took their seats beginning to eat. Asani was humming in delight still actually having something this good.
"Seems your enjoying yourself, because guess what your going to be doing today with your older siblings"nadia started getting their attention.
"Uhh what, is it the reason you called me here today?"Zoey asked as her tail swayed
The tiger nodded"yep because for starters she needs actually clothing, not these military dreads. I'm sure you would like your own clothes"she asked her daughter who stared at that for a moment on how to respond she never been offered that before.
"Umm do i need to do something in exchange for it?"asani asked getting weird looks.
"No. because i'm sure it'd be nice to have actually clothing and get a tour of the island. We gotta kill time before those ships arrive."vance replied which changed her mood slightly
"Percisly. Though we should hurry were probably going to do our own thing today"yumi said as all of them finished breakfast as they left the house leaving colt and nadia. The tiger then began to cry her eyes out in joy right now.
Colt sighed smiling"guess that made you very happy to hear that? Along with him gifting you that?"he asked knwoignly as she nodded several times because she was.
Already outside right now was zoey who was escorting who younger siblings now through the town. With neo help as vance decided to go do something else as did the others for today. As the two were giving a tour of the island to them.
It felt strange being given a tour of this place now but zane felt content slightly though still noticed alot of people giving him dirty looks which he expected. But as they kept walking asani felt enamored in the place now getting a better look at it rather than scouting the place out.
"So this right here is the statue of the isand founders. Story goes the god of animals lead a group of people here. If they jumped into the shallow sea they would…"zoey was stopped
"Oh that they were r-rumored to be the first faunus. Along with people b-being horrified with their appernaces. Which in turn showed the god how shallow people can be toward new things and narrow minded"asani finished epxertly but nerovusly as the fox smiled slightly.
"That right guess you know your history, guessing you read alot of books in your free time?"zoey asked as the girl looked down hugging herself nodding. It was the only way she could escape reality by reading books on history, science, fiction and non fiction it made her imagine what life would have been if her parents never sold her.
All she could remember about them right now is how they were a poor family at the time. But one day a man came offering them alot of lien and the thing he wanted was here. She thought her parents would refuse but they accepted immediately then nine years of hell happened.
"I..i..i did…it was the only way i could keep myself occupied back in the talon. They really didn't let me do much at the beginning"Asani sadly replied rubbing her right forearm tight. Neo soften her gaze patting her on the back straddling her a little as she jumped.
Neo blinked for a moment"calm down cousin, we aren't going to hurt you for starters your safe here"she signed
"Yeah because still finding the last couple of weeks weird since I woke up from a coma"Zane added still surprised by all this.
Zoey chuckled"you mean how you wake up in a grimm infested city. We deal with finding someone alive and dealing with cousin wicken mom. Then we get attack by the beowulf knight see your ugly mug is alive. Then everyone hates each other we stop being jerks then we get rid of these stupid mercs finally. And now we get to relax for one days before we head off to havan finally"she explained as he nodded
But as they kept walking neo eyed a certain store right now that being a bakery as she tugged at zoey shirt pointing it out as the fox smiled.
"Hey lets get some sweets real quick before we do some clothes shopping."zoey suggested as asani like the sound of that she never had sweets.
"Umm sure…do i need to do manual labor in return for one?"she asked nerouvsly erning a weird look.
"No it'll be on your big sister right now. Still getting used to be one but let me treat my siblings"zoey said as they followed her into the sweet store. But once their stacy was already hard at work selling baked good to her customers. As surprignly someone else was their that being velvet and coco. As velvet was looking over a wide selection of sweet as coco was drinking a fresh cup of coffee right now.
The fashion monoger sighed in relief from the warm liquid"god i needed this today seriously i'm glad we are rid of these mercs now"coco said
Velvet hummed slightly"i know right and i'm glad everyone finally getting along now. I just hope our other friends are okay in havan right now. While where here just relaxing"velvet replied worried a
"They will be because once those ships arrive where bringing an army against their army. Including the branwhen tribe and some low down gangsters"Coco replied
"Hey auntie not so bad when you get to know her."zoey replied as the two where surprised by them.
"Oh hey guys i'm guessing your here to give a tour of the island"velvet asked knowingly as neo nodded several times with a bright smile.
"We are because i wanted to help my new cousin get some new clothes"neo signed peeking coco interest tapping her chin examining asani current get up which didn't really match her look at all as she noitced the birthmark before concluding something.
"I'll help you guys find something because i'm a master of fashion despite my attitude and how i behave"coco said before trying to pinch velvet hips but the rabbit boyfriend pull her over with annoyed look.
"What you jealous now that I like to tease my teammate? You three did it plenty back in beacon"coco teased by pinching velvet hips again making her squeak blushing.
"Stop teasing me when where in public coco!I have a girlfriend and boyfriend!"velvet demanded stomping her foot with a pouty face. but soon enough zoey decided to do something to make her little brother feel good today.
"Hey stacy you got a minute i got someone you might wanna meet!"zoey called out to their confusion as the dog faunus had a couple workers with her today. But glanced at the group going wide eyed seeing one face before walking from the back and suddenly hugged zane who was caught offguard by this.
"Gah! Uhhh lady umm…i..uh why are you hugging me all of sudden?"he asked as he could feel something wet hit his shoulder that being a couple tears.
"I..i just wanted to thank you for saving my babies. That thing almost snatched them up before my eyes. But you saved them…thank you so much"stacy thanked as he was surprised by that recalling her for a moment until the patter of small footsteps could be heard.
"Momma who are you hugging?"ria asked innconelty as her tail swayed cutely. She was holding bennets hand hanging close by to his older sister. Stacy undid the embrace sniffing slightly rubbing the tears away.
"Oh nothing just the nice boy who saved you two from that evil dog"stacy replied as the two little kid instantly wrapped their little arms around his legs as he felt embarrassed right now. Velvet giggled slightly.
"It seems some people are thanfkul for you saving them. "Velvet pointed out.
Neo giggled herself"yeah i'm happy some people aren't giving my cousin crap for what happened now. Though i take it your going to try and give us something free again"she signed as the dog faunus thought for a moment.
"Nope you gotta pay this time, though usually i drop these two off at your mother daycare could you maybe drop them off for me. If that wouldn't be a burden–"she was stopped as zane gently pushed the two off his legs.
"Sure we could umm do that ma'am probably have to head their anyway. I'll make sure they get their safe"he replied making her smile at that. They quickly got some sweets as they began their walk to the nearest clothing store to get asani some new dreads.
While over by the docks right now was blake along with her father with a few others right now. As a medium size ship was here right now not for them to leave menagerie. But it was one of the guard ships that they used to transport prisoner off their island. By her side was yang.
As right now they were loading up all the knuckleduster and crimson talon operatives and soldiers onto a ship. As some guards where escorting them onto the ship in a line as they had chains around their ankles to prevent them from escaping. But right now the cat felt content after solving these issues on the island but they still had work that needed to be done.
"So that should be all of the prisoners we have in the jail. Anymore we might be too full"saber stated
"Yes though its a shame that you have to go old friend. This is like deju vu right now"Declan said since nix was packed up with all her gear with her and lugaugue. The snow leopard sighed as her tail swayed.
"I know right though someone gotta delivery these guys. And me and a few of the guards and huntsman here will do it. Though i'll make sure they don't mention you know who"nix replied. Nadia was their right now chuckling slightly.
"Oh you better because i'm still a little mad about the arrow incident"nadia firmly reminded as the snow leopard hoped she forgot about that.
"And i'm still very sorry for what i did alright. Seriously i get it that i was being a bit of bitch"nix replied as the tiger laughed slightly at that.
Yang chuckled crossing her arms"hey i'm glad where done dealing with those stupid mechs. Seriously i thought it turn out like last time"she said in relief
"Please don't remind me that I felt sore that night. "Blake replied as jazmine was their about to open her mouth but surpsignly someone covered her mouth. That being tia who was their with them surprisingly. Since the women was here hearing about one person now.
"Shut up kid before you make a dirty joke"Tia said as yang looked at her for a moment then turned away but glanced back going wide eyed. The two stared each other down as the blonde eyes flickered crimson red.
"You?! What in the name of remnant are you doing here and how long have you been here?!"yang shouted as her hair erupted into flames as tia nerovusly took one big step back. Then she put her arms in a surrender position.
"Easy blondie…surrpised we haven't ran into each other yet. Look i'm here to uh…well"tia coudln't find the words as kali closed her eyes before blocking the girl path from approaching the women.
"Out of my way this chick deserves to be knock upside the head for punching my girlfriend"yang growled as blake blushed slightly but decided to be the voice of reason. She placed her hands on her shoulder to calm her down.
"Calm down, look she here to make amends. And well…she has a very good reason for being here right now. Along with why she hated faunus"blake calmly said as yang shimmered down waiting for the explanation.
Tia sighed before starting to give a quick explanation which yang gaze seemed to soften but needed proof. That was until she was shown a picture of the women girlfriend explaining how the white fang took her.
"And thats why i'm here…look…my actions are unexusible but i'm terrible sorry for what i did. You two just reminded me of what i used to have is all. We square?"tia asked offering a hand as yang took it shaking it.
"Look i may lose my temper sometimes. But if what your saying is true…i'm sure she happy your learning from your mistakes"yang wisly said making the women smile as blake chuckled slightly.
"Oh great your acting all wise, where the girl who made dumb puns"blake teased making yang frown slightly before getting revenge by scratching behind her cat ears making blake blush slightly from the feeling.
Kali laughed slightly"aww she doing what i did for you and jazmine when you were kids"she cooed making both girl blush at that.
"Ahh! Stop it don't tease us about that please…though i wonder if swirl would do that for me"jazmien casually said not even caring who was around. As blake purred slightly from the feeling.
"Was that a purr?"nadia asked
"Ummm yes…please stop because i..-"she was stopped as the sound of wheels could be heard on the dock. As they turned to the source that being sangie in a gurney right now but her entire body was in a cast right now as her right leg was in one. With her neck in a neck brace, as her right eye was swollen along with a busted lip. Along with a broken swollen nose. As she glared at the culprit being nadia.
"Well…well..well looks like the child abuser finally shows up. It'll be nice without you here miss"declan taunted as she growled at him.
"Screw you pest. I'll get out of here sooner or later because when i do. I'm coming back here to burn this entire island down"sangie threatened but they weren't fazed. As one person stepped forward that being eden along with mari who stared the women down. Eden gave her a glare before hocking back spitting on her face.
"Shut up, your lucky she got to you before me. Because you wouldn't be alive right now"eden said gesturing to what on her hips her fathers machetes that she rightfully reclaimed. The spit slide down sangie face as she couldn't wipe it off.
"Yes and for starters this is punishment for breaking a little girl leg you psycho"nix added as the women began to laugh slightly at that for a moment like a maniac.
"Oh your mad i broke that little brat leg? I don't really care like i said before i got paid alot to watch over those freaks. And lets see…i did bust that dumb sabertooth faunus jaw back then. Dumb ba–"she was stopped as mari reeled her fist back cracking her across the jaw as it seemed dislocate it as she cried in pain slightly.
Mari rubbed her hand"shut up and take her away from here before i show her how i mean business."she ordered as the guards brought her abroad the ship as nix got on board. As the ship got ready to leave port she waved them goodbye as they returned the gesture. They all began to walk down the dock.
"Alright since that done i think i'll head off to the training field to make sure everyone getting prepared for the coming fight. Then after that i'll organize where suppiles need to go. Then–"blake was stopped by her father.
"Dear it'll be fine, we have a bit of time before the ships arrive. Why don't you take a break for today"ghira advised to her confusion. She needed to work on orangiazing the faunus here right now since she was leading the march.
"No…no we need to oraganize everything now. With everything solve theirs alot of work to be done right now. I.."blake was stopped
"Dear we understand that you want to get things done. But a leader deserves a break and maybe spend time with your significant other"sienna said gesturing to yang who gave a cheeky wave. As balke thought about that for a moment.

Ghira nodded"go enjoy yourself for a moment. I'm still proud of you dear you've grown into a fine young women. Enjoy the day off"ghira stated as she smiled at that hugging him as he returned it. Then she spritned off with yang somewhere dragging her along to their surprise. Kali sighed leaning against her husband.
"To be young again, reminds me of you and me at that age."kali siad lvignly as he placed an arm around her returning the same feeling.
"Yes, though in your words dear. I wonder when we'll have grandkids someday"ghira said jokingly earning some laughs as they went their separate ways. With yang she was curious where blake was dragging her as they were heading to one place the cackling gull. As it was open right now with yumi their guarding it right now.
"Oh hey you two…"yumi greeted but they sped past her to her annoyance as she shrugged her shoulders messing with her scroll. Yang could feel blake praticualry tearing her arm off as she wondered what she was doing.
"Kitty can you take it easy because why are we here? Your tearing my arm off praticualry"yang whined slightly. Blake eased her grip before stopping at what she wanted to do with her. As the cat pointed toward bumblebee as yang got what she was implying.
"Since we have some free time we could take a ride around the island on your bike. It might be relaxing"blake suggested as the blonde sigh nodding before getting onto her bike kicking it up. Then blake joined her wrapping her arms around her waist holding on tight.
"Alright we'll i'll get this thing to pur for yah"yang joked as blake slightly laughed at the pun. Yang twisted the throttle hard as the bikes engine roared to life. Then she shifted it into gears as the two sped off down the ramp as they sped off through the streets of menagerie. Thankfully avoiding any faunus in the way as blake enjoyed the wind in her hair. Because she was happy to have something like this.
With zoey and the others they were walking the streets right now toward one desiantion. That being a clothing store to get her new little sister some news clothes. But zane had rai on his shoulder as bennet held velvet hand the entire time.
"So i was thinking we find a decent clothing store around here. Then give you what you think will work best and what you like"coco said
Asani rubbed her arm"i think…i'm fine with what i have."she said but they looked at her for a moment as neo shook her head.
"No its fine, we already told you before you can wear something other than military rags"neo sighed again as the girl nodded at that. As they soon arrived at a clothing store that was one store. As it had a few faunus inside looking at a wide array clothing on display right now. Once their zoey clapped her hands.
"Alright you guys wait out here we'll be out in maybe…a couple hours"zoey said as velvet and zane hung outside with the two dog faunus kids. Once inside the store it had some air aodntioining luckily as a worker greeted them.
"Hello how can i help you four today? Do you need help finding anything today?"the male faunus asked them.
"Oh well you got any booths or changing rooms available.i'd like to try and get my little sister some news clothes"zoey said as the employee eyed asani current attire tapping his chin at what she was wearing nodding.
"I have an available changing room, if i recall number five is available"he said as they nodded walking off in that direction. As neo and coco got to work gathering up some clothes to try on for asani. After maybe thirty minutes the two returned with a bundle of clothing in their arms which surprised them by the amount. As they were waiting by the changing rooms.
Neo could barely see unable to see where she was going right now with the clothes in her hands. As coco grunted slightly as zoey held the door opened for them to reveal the changing room. It was actually quite spacious maybe fitting up to about three people maybe since it does accommodate people with faunus traits.
The girl set the clothes down whipping her brow"alright we got the clothes now all we gotta do is have our little friend here try them on. Strip to your undies""she said bluntly making asani cover herself up.
"N-n-no!"asani shouted completely emrbassed and terrified.
"Oh c'mon it'll be fine little sister, seriously their nothing to be scared about. Do you want us to turn around?"zoey asked since it was her and coco in the room as they faced away from her. Slowly asani mustered the courage off removing her blouse then her skrit neatly placing them on the ground. After five minutes she was in a brown bra and panty set but hide her right arm behind her back.
"You…you can look"asani said hesitantly as the two turned around to see what their working with. They saw her all in her splendor seeing her to be pretty skinny with a toned build to her. But coco found it strange how she was hiding her arm.
"Hey why are hiding your arm it'll make putting clothes on hard"coco said as on isnitnct she turned her around. But it was a mistake as she went wide eyed with shock. Both were completely speechless seeing her back with several scars that where very deep or shallow. All of them were noticeable but zoey stared at her right forearm.
Because it looked like it was burned, no more like an acid burn scar. As zoey gently placed a hand on her back as asani barely reacted to it.
"Are…that's why you didn't want to change."zoey said appalled by this as asani wrapped her arms around herself shaking.
"I..i..i..t-t-they were yohis punishments…i..i know its disgusting i'm sor–"she was stopped as zoey wrapped her arms around her in a comforting embrace holding her close.
"Shut up. Your safe now alright that man isn't here to hurt you anymore. Its alright…i understand where your coming from. I used to be a slave myself..till mom rescued me. Your with people who care about you now"zoey softly said as asani turned around burying her face into her chest crying for a moment as she rocked back and forth with her until it passed. Then they decided to get her dress up.
It took maybe a whole hour as waiting outside was neo, velvet and zane with stacys two kids. After what felt like forever soon coco emerged from the store carrying some bags with a proud look.
"So i take your done playing dress up in their?"neo signed sarcastically.
Coco chuckled"we are because check out the girls new dreads"she said as from the doorway outsteped asani. Who traded in her talon clothes for something else. That being a purple skirt that reached her knees as she wore a pair of tan platform sandals with ankles straps colored black. As she wore a grey short sleeve mandrian shirt with a pair of black elbow lenght fingerless long gloves.
Asani felt slightly embarrassed but overjoyed right now"so umm…is this ugly or something?"she asked as neo tapped her chin determining the outfit before giving an approving thumps up.
"Its great in my opinion. Though whos going to carry all those bags you have with you?"velvet asked as they looked toward one person being zane who frowned slightly right now. Of course he was the packmule. Coco left them to head off somewhere as zoey made her brother carry the bags because after a twenty minute walk they reached the orphanage and their home. As he dropped it off inside to organize later while neo guided both of stacys kids inside. Mari was their along surprisingly roland who was dropping his youngest off right now mika.
"Well this is a surprise. It seems that my bosses daughter now has some proper clothing"mari complemented as asani blushed slightly.
"Umm i..um thank you ma'am"asani thanked.
Zoey chuckled"of course she does though surrpsied to see you here "she added
Roland sighed"i used to drop her off here now and then, i'm sure she missed her friends she made here"he said still holding mika who little croc tail swayed around cutely. As soon enough zane came back groaning rubbing his back.
"Did you guys buy the entire store or something…my back is killing me now"he whined before notiicng the man here before closing up slightly looking away. It was an awkward silence for a moment until mari cleared her throat.
"Well since your all here…would you mind giving me some help today. Your mother is back at it training the faunus again."mari asked as they thought about it for a moment.
"Sure we could help for a bit, it'll be nice and relaxing."velvet said
"Umm i probably shouldn't…the kids here might not like me. "Zane replied sadly as mika stared at him titling her head.
"Are you the scary man on the tv?"she bluntly asked as they stared at the tot as roland set her down with an embarrassed look.
"Mika sweetie. Look the news might be wrong look i know i said some choice things about that boy around the house. But…well.."he couldn't find the words but zane sighed as he had in his hands his guitar case before kneeling down to get to her level.
"Yeah thats me sweetie. Look i'm pretty sure i know who your sister is, she…gone because of what i assisted. But.."he paused seeing the innocent face infront of him sighing before deciding to drop some wisdom.
"But your sister did some good in our world. She saved so many people that day and i'm sure right now she smiling down watching you grow over the years. But just try to remember her as a hero"he finished as the little crocdiile took his words confused but nodded as roland felt happy that someone would say that about his little girl. They decided to help out at the orphanage for a bit.
Although right now walking the streets of menagerie right now was xander enjoying some time off right now since his mom let him. But right now he had other things on his mind mainly being his best friend ben. He was here on the island where his parents lived.
Right now he was thinking about after everything was over now with the mercs and everyone at each other throats. He could mustered the courage to final speak to them but it was just bugging him right now. As he just wanted time to think about how he would confront his parents on how its his fault he died. That if he never got him invovled in that stupid robber he'd still be here.
He kpet walking the streets for maybe ten minutes in his own world right now as the faunus seemed in better spirits on the fight for havan. Though his ears picked up something that being a certain conversation.
"Man i can't believe you still quit that internship at that freaks mom clinic"Seth said as he eyed him talking with kai as the two were taking a stroll.
Kai scoffed"Well that place is a run down piece of trash. Seriously that whore of a faunus may be the best doctor on the island. But if she gonna support monsters and freaks i rather not work their"he jabbed
Xander growled slightly clenching his fist as if his body was on autopilot. He rushed forward as he shoved kai from behind cuaisng him to stumble as the peacock and weasel faunus glared at him.
"Don't talk about my mom like that"xander demadned as he reached for his sword. But seth was quicker as the wolf swung a punch at him but both of them double teamed him. Then they dragged him into a nearby alleyway throwing him to the ground as he knocked some trashcans over. As xaner looked up seth hoisted him up slamming him against a wall hard.
"Shut up you dam brat. Learn whats good for you becuase your just a weak little runt compared to us"seth warned
Xander growled bearing his canines"don't talk about my family you jerks or you'll pay for it"he wanted but kai scoffed before he cracked his knuckles deciding to teach him a lesson.
"Eat this you stupid mutt!"he shouted as he punched xander hard in the side as he cried in pain feeling something crack right now. But coughed slightly as they let him go before seth kicked him as he held his side.
"Now listen here brat where heading to the training field. And your coming along if you say a word about what happened here. I'll do much worse"seth said bringing out a switchblade as he nodded as the two dragged him along toward the training field.
But right now in katherien clinic right now the women along with her daughter and calida where doing one thing. That was comforting akasha right now who just woke up as she was now situated in a wheelchair along with wearing her usal attire.
Though she was doing that great right now as she was keeping a very force smile on her face staring down at her very limp legs that she coudln't even feel.
"Aka please just say something to me, look i'm sure everything will be fine. I…i can try to get a job to try and buy the money for surgery. To make you be able to walk"ilia pleaded
Calida nodded"yes and maybe when my husband arrives if he does. We could take a small airship to argus to get your legs fixed up. Along with on the way their if he followed those plans he talked about"she added
The falcon sighed heavy"i'll..i'll be fine just something i gotta used to now. At least i can still feel this"she said before pulling ilia down kissing her on the cheek making her spots turn pink as she pulled away. Katherine chuckled slightly finishing up sighing the paperwork to release her.
"That may be true dear. But luckily that bullet did paralyze you but with access to certain porthsetics. He could create a harness for you to wear to restore feeling in your legs. Your still able to feel things above your thighs"katherine reminded
Akasha sighed rubbing her eyes"i…i'll think about it…i rather not burden my girl having to work her butt off to pay for prothestics. Lets head to the training field maybe talk to the others"she said as the chameleon fuanus sighed grabbing her chair wheeling her out. Once they were far enough onxyia sighed heavily rubbing her face.
"Poor aka…i didn't know that she would be cripple for the rest of her life. I can already tell she trying to keep that stupid tough girl act of hers up"onxyia stated as her tail swayed
Calida sighed herself"look dear it takes time for someone to acept they need help. Don't worry i'm sure she'll accept it sooner or later. I could give her a discount if you want…which would knock it down to still…fifty thousand lien"she regrettable claucated
"I'm not surrpsied its that much. Though…since everything has been settled now why don't we invite your boyfriend and his family for dinner tonight along with your girlfriend"katherine suddenly said catching her daughter offguard.
"Why should we do that?"onxyia asked
Katherine smirked slightly"its common to invite your child significant others family for dinner. Besides i have a feeling we might not get the chance. "She said before reaching up messing with her ears slightly.
"Besides maybe you can try your hand at cooking to make them something"she added which made the girl blush slightly. That would be nice but part of her knows she won't be on par with his. After some teasing for a bit from her mother she relented.
"Fine we can invite them for tonight….please don't tease me okay"onxyia begged as her mother nodded because she might.
"Then we should get going heard a bunch of your friends are training for a bit to keep their minds sharp. "Calida added
"That sounds nice i cna't remember the last time we all trained together actually"onxyia replied as without much arguing they soon left the clinic. It wasn't a long walk until they reached the orphanage which was bustling like usually. With the kids outfront playing on the playground equipment provided for them to have some fun. But outside right now was zane who was playing a small tune on the guitar for some of the kids rights now as mari was singing wheels on the bus for them right now.
As next to them was roland leaning against the building as zoey,velvet along with asani was their. It surprised her to see him doing this right now but made her feel warm as the song was nearing the end as mari clapped her hands together.
"Alirght everyone time for lunch. Thank for the nice little tune then we'll have free time then social studies"mari said as the kids followed her
"Thank you"they said in unison making alot of people hearts melt right now as the faunus kids followed her inside. But staying behind was piper who rushed over hugging onxyia legs with her little arms.
"Doggy"piper cheered as she smiled picking her up as they noticed them.
"Oh hey guys…you need something because we were busy watching my dumb brother play a song. Wanna play that love song again"zoey teased making him blush pulling his bandana up.
"I..um..uh…maybe another time"he nerouvsly replied
Calida chuckled"no we came to see how your doing. Along with wondering if you all would like to join us for some training. Been a while i'm sure since all of you trained together"she pointed out as zane thought about that hoping it wound't be bad.
"I..sure i guess we could…haven't really had much. Let just hope no one wants me uh kicked out"he nerovusly said walking inside retrieving his gear which worried onxyia seeing that behavior. But soon he returned all geared up.
"Alright we need to go then, roland be a dear and take piper inside"katherine asked as he tried to guide her inside but she grabbed zane hand gripping it tight.
"I wanna go see big sis whoop your butts"piper cheered as they laughed at that allowing it. As they all made their way to the training field for some much needed pratice.
Seems that asani got some new clothes to trade out those miltary dreads of hers along with that a bit of backstory on who she was. Though it seems zoey showed her some compassion that the girl needed. Akasha is adapting to her new life while onxyia has to ask her partners to come over for dinner. Thanks for reading!
