Chapter 98:Wind Path
After checking the room both their corpses where being held at covering their noses from the smell for anymore clues right now. Lazulil and oscar where examining for anything else for anything they could find on them. But they had lazu helping them out but kept an eye on her just incase.
They were checking over tom body as indeed for a fact he did have his neck slit open as they were on the phone with milita. It confused lazu why they were calling someone but they explained that she very sick right now and had a older sister who was in the military.
Miltia was looking at the neck wound through the scroll humming for a moment at seeing it.
"Yep thats a neck wound from garrot wire. Sis told me for some reason that its sharp enough to peirce someone neck in minue"milita explained
"Alright thank you though that bolt we had you guys examine find anything notiabcle yet?"lazuli asked as miltia thought for a moment before raven was on the line.
"We did just like you said it wasn't even coated in any of that venom you mentioned. Along with how you found that glass with the residue in it it would suggest someone spiked his drink"raven replied
Oscar cupped his chin as ozpin was deep in thought of the possibilite of who this culprit could be. The man kenw their was the possibilite of the crow faunus being one but hearing of those two atlas special forces soilder that is a big possibilies.
"It seems our curlpit are very well trained in covering their tracks. Though that wick fellow is rather suspicious"ozpin said
"How so?"oscar thought to hide his status as being a reincarnated from the faunus girl with them.
Ozpin hummed for a moment"that a doctor wouldn't usually be so disgusted by a dead bodie. A new doctor yes but from what we ask the conductor recently. has served the train as it on staff doctor for eight years now"he replied since they asked kobe what they know about barry how the two were very close friends back in the day and he asked him to help him with running the train with his medical knoweldge.
"See i told you i didn't do it…wait a minute that doesn't help my case"lazu quickly said
"It really doens't but you said early someone hit you on the head early right? And how no one has access to the fuse box except for the conductor and your mentor?"lazuli asked as she nodded
"You think the culprit used a cane to bash open the fuse box maybe?"oscar asked as that could be a possible as they decided to head to the lounge.
But as they did someone called out to the two from behind"hey guys we got a problem!"neptune called out looking over to see him carrying racheal who had a nasty headwound on her head with blood dripping down it.
"What the heck happened to her?"lazu asked but was on the defensive since they heard of her current history.
"Don't know neps here said while in the luggage hold he found her passed out on the floor. Then apparently someone looking like merrick attacked him and her"bashira replied supporting rahceal who had blood dripping from her head.
Which made lazuli a little suspicious right now but decided to play the long game. Because that blood atop of her head she knows fake blood when she seen it. Thank her little sister who pulled a prank like that for a week straight.
"Alright lets get to the others in the lounge leave her here"lazuli said as they rushed toward the lounge car of the ship where the others were.
Merrick and dravan were currently investigating the train car for anymore clues as eria was doing more research on her scroll just incase. Along with that the two men were inveisgating one thing with the conductor close to the tunnel that separates the two car from each other.
That being a smash in metal panel that had the lock busted off it with blunt force from the looks of it. Along with a few of the panels benign messed with.
"So it seems someone smashed open the panel to this car which confirms the theory of someone not having a key"dravan stated
"Seems so though that means the busted cane might have done this"merrick replied rubbing his chin.
"That would be a possibilite since these panels control one of each cars light switches. How are you coming along dear?"kobe asked
As eria was doing more research on this dango character along with racheal women. They were discharge about five months ago from the military from the looks of it. Both of them had been charged with excessive force though nothing else it seems. Since their weren't many articles about them but one stuck out.
About some corporate spy that going around known as false face. That their able to change the appearance of their face with the use of their semblance but not their body. Along with that they seem to be stealing from mainly atlas facilities since a few dead scientist have been found reproted dead recently.
"Nothing much except someone known as false face. Probably our curlpit since this involved atlas tech"eria answered coldly.
"Thats a start wonder how the others are doing?"dravan questioned as if on cue bursting from the other doors as lazuli and her group rushed in. neptune and bashira placed racheal on a nearby chair as she groaned holding her head in pain it seems.
"What happened to her?"kobe questioned walking over to her side as lazuli eyed the women for a moment.
"Appernelty from what these two told me some guy looking like smo attacked them. Which means out killer is porbably switching in between people faces and bodies to make us loose track of them"lazuli explaiened
Bashira nodded"also i check on lucy and her family their all safe but just incase i asked a huntresses on board to watch over them"she added ressurieng eria actually that women family was safe right now.
"That alright though ma'am what exactly happened to you?"dravan asked
Racheal rubbed her head before pulling her hand back seeing blood going wide eyed slightly. As she tried to recall what happened it seems.
"I don't know. Barry told me to go to the luggage hold to grab something from his bag. But when i go their the blue haired boy was their"rahcela said pointing at neptune who crossed his arms.
"She kinda…well started to question me what i was doing. Though before both of us knew it the lights in the train car went off. "Neptune replied making oscar eye him for a moment even. Ozpin could tell by his amnnerism he was acting very different because the boy was cocky but he seemed rather relaxed about seeing blood right now.
"What happened after that"oscar asked
Neptune shrugged his shoulder"after that i felt somehting hit me in the back of the head. Then i woke up seeing her bleeding so i rushed out seeking medical aid"he explained which made even eria suspicious hows hes acting.
This ex of hers was smooth at times on how he talked but soemthing was bugging her about that dumb blue haired boy for some reason. Dravan though sat down taking out some bandages from his pouch beginning to wrap up racheal head.
But suddenly the women felt immense pain in her gut crying confusing them for a moment as she held it.
"Are you okay ma;am?"lazu asked as racheal panted slightly before looking away.
"S-sorry. Recently today i found out i was pregannt and its been a little hard. Though my babys husband really isn't on board right now. Probably off on some business trip somewhere right now"racheal replied peeking their interest slightly.
"How long has it been right now?"merrick questioned
Racheal thought for a moment on how to answer"about a month right now i didn't even notice it. I'm a real klutz at time. Even early when i misplaced my name tag…again"She replied retattable.
"Thats is upsetting though any luck on finding anything in the cargo hold?"lazuli questioned neptune who was thinking for a moment.
Though as he did eria scroll buzzed at that moment as she was confused who was texting her at this time right now. To her confusion it was a brand new text from…neptune? Who is standing right in front of her.
Eria read the text as it read""Racheal and Dango are the murderers. Offer me a cup of water. injured . bagged room please help" eria read the text in her head before glancing at neptune
"Well i came in their searching for a bit. But turned up with nothing really except for a bottle of this"neptune said pulling out a bottle that had a sealed cork on it. But had a greenish purple liquid to it as merrick picked it up nodding.
"This is black widow venom whos bag was this in?"merrick asked as neptune immediately pointed the blame to lazu who was caught offguard.
"Found it in her bag. Maybe we might be wrong about her not being the culprit because evidence proves it right their"neptune said making lazu back up confused
"I..i didn't even have that in my bag. I don't even know how it got their!"lazu shotued in shock right now. But kobe sighed rubbing his eyes.
"It seems your apprentice is the culprit merrick. Look dear were going to ask you some more questions. Please come along now"kobe ordered as a pair of huntsman grabbed the girl by the arms dragging her away as she was trying to break free. While merrick chased after them with dravan by his side which left them in the room. As they stayed in silence they all took their seats trying to piece this together.
"So that was a bust. Maybe she really did do it…which i find hard to believe"bashira replied
Racheal huffed rubbing her head"well i did see that girl early slip something into the first man drink"she suddenly said confusing them for a moment
They didn't tell her about him possible being spiked with his drink but lazuli decided to let her think she got away with it.
"Yeah shame though probably someone just spiked it with that posion"lauzli said eyeing oscar who returned it realziing that she might have given herself up without knowing. While eria was near the bar counter reaching down for something.
The girl shifted around for a bit before finding what she needed a glass and a bottle of water. Eria set the glass down pouring the water into it walking toward neptune or dango in this case.
"Hey neptune i was wondering would you like a glass of water?"Eria asked
"Sure thanks for offering"neptune replied taking it drinking it down as the cold girl just narrowed her gaze right now. Bashira even noticed it recalling what he said early as he finished it setting it down.
"That was refreshing thanks"he thanked as eria coldly laughed at him before going into full blown laughter to some confusion. Racheal especially as she had her hand placed on her hip where a silenced pistol was.
"Whats so funny hayley?"neptune asked as eria soon caught her breath before pulling tundra out. Then she reeled it back whacking him across the skull sending him to the ground as he rubbed his face.
"Vasilla is afraid of water he might drink it. But it takes him about twenty minutes to do it i should know we used to date"Eria coldly said as the other brough out their weapon as bahsira unsheathed her sword as lazuli aimed wisp at him
Neptune slowly stood up to reveal his face smoshed in like clay as he shook it off for a moment to reveal dango. Then he chuckled grinning before placing his hands up.
"Should have focused on that kid more…but good luck trying to find me"dango said quickly pressing a button on his wrist as the lights in the train car went off again. As if in an instant they all stayed still trying to find them when the light came back on they were gone.
"Dammit their gone! We gotta tell the others and find uncle to tell them the culprits are still here"eria said
"How do we know they won't try to escape?"bashira asked as eria presented the flashdrive in hand because thats what they need to complete their mission. They all began to separate as bahsira and eria went in the direction of the luagugae area making contact with dravan.
After sending a quick message to the others about the situation the two of them regroups with dravan and lazu while merrick rushed off to gather any huntsman on board to start blocking off exits. Dravan grabbed the handle throwing it open to reveal the luggage room as a pungent smell filled their nostril.
"Ughhh it smells like someone died in here"bashira said gagging a little as the faunus could smell it even more. Dravan sniffed around for a source until walking to a nearby luggage bag opening it as barry corpse spilled out on the floor. Lazu gagged puking onto the ground coughing for a bit.
"Seems the doctor was killed too..that makes three victims"dravan said as eria looked around for any source of neptune. Until she heard a cough coming by a nearby crate rushing over tossing it open to reveal neptune inside with a small pool of blood underneath him as he looked slightly pale.
"Oh ice queen…you give me that water?"neptune asked woozily.
"I did sorry we took so long…i'm glad your alive"eria said happily but with worry as they began to pull him out as he cired slightly in pain.
"What happened to you kid?"dravan asked as he checked around for the source of his injurie.
Bashria thought noticed it"hes got a stab wound on his lower side they got anti aura metal with them. Probably anti aura bullets to"she said as they hoisted him up to get him proper metal aid. As bashira grabbed his left side wrapping his arm around her shoulder while eria did the same with the right.
"On , two, three up we go"bashria said as they lifted neptune up by his arms getting vertical.
"We gotta get to the medical office to get him first aid before he bleeds out. Maybe something to help his wounds"eria said but lazu stopped them before walking behind neptune placing her hands on his side.
"No wait here let me grab something that might help"lazu said reaching into her pouch to reveal a canteen of water. They watch intently as she unscreweed it then placed the bottle on the ground placing her hands together. Then from the bottle a stream of water emerged from it as she cupped her hands as it took the shape of a sphere of water floating in her hands as she walked toward neptune.
"Keep him still and step back for a moment"she stated as they did just that placing him on his back. But he eyed the water in her hands freaking out a little.
"Ah! Nope! Nope! Keep that away from me i do not want that on me!"neptune schirekd which confirmed their theory on the fake. Eria sighed bonking him on the head.
"Calm down idiot it'll be quick just think happy thoughts"eria suggested as he tried to keep his composure taking small rapid breaths to bashira surprised he was that scared of water.
Then lazu began to encase that part of his body in water as he was very tempted to use his semblance but eria offered a hand as he squeezed it hard.
"Alright this will heal your wounds"lazu said. Then the water surrounding neptune slowly began to melt off him and much to their surprise his stab wound had healed comply. Neptune stood up cautosuly not feeling any pain but took a sigh of relief.
"Oh thank remnant thats over. Its feel like i wasn't stab"neptune said before wincing clutching his side
"I mange to heal your outer injuries and inner luckily it didn't puncutre a major organ. But you'll be sore and your aura needs to heal them"lazu said rather exhausted form using her semblance
Suddenly gunfire rang out but just barley as some screamed could be heard coming from the opposite way of the trian car.
"Gunfire. It must be those two hope the others are okay"eria said as she unsehtahed tundra and head straight toward the source of the gunfire. With bashira, neptune, dravan and lazu joining them
Oscar ducked down from the oncoming gunfire firing blinding at it with the use of a spare revolver from merrick. Who was on the oppiste seat with him while he tired to hit his target he failed as the large revolver had a lot of kick.
While lazuli and milita who joined them after hearing what happened since it was close to their room. She had a pistol in hand firing back expertly reloading a new clip in.
However dango and racheal where in the middle as dango had tri-bolt firing upon the two on his side. While racheal fired at the huntsman and huntress behind her who she injured with her anti aura bullets.
"Can't you like get close to them using your semblance since its enhanced speed?"milita asked loading in a new clip
"I could but this place is too narrow and they'll shoot me down with their weapons"lazuli siad firing off a few bolts toward them.
"Well we gotta hurry before grimm start becoming attracted here lucky those turrets provide some cover if that happens"merrick replied firing back at the two.
"Just give up. I advise you all surrender and just hand over that drive. Weather you like it or not my employer wants that drive. He'll pay me major lien for it"dango said rather annoynilgy.
Lazi growled"sorry buddy that aint happening you two are going to be under arrest. Watts will be mad you won't get that drive you talon grunt"lazuli replied surprising dango and merrick hearing that was this man employer. But dango laughed at being called a simple grunt.
"I aint no grunt. I'm apart of the claw…something you don't even know about"dango said firing off more shots at the group in quick succession. While rahceal did the same but above them was a floor hatch.
It opened as the primmering of guns could be heard as the two looked up. Which revealed eria aiming her shotgun at the two along with bashira pointing her assault rifle at the two as dravan brnished infity. Which transforms into a assault rifle with a wooden stock and frame colored purple. With a long it resemble a maverick assault rifle with a sling on it which is for his weapon strap. While neptune was left with nothing since dango has his weapon.
"I suggest you two surrender"eria said
Racheal tried to fire on then but bashira fired a shot kncoking it out of her hands
"Don't even try it"bashira warned as they began to surround the two.
"Drop your weapon now dango and put your hands up. Now!"lazuli ordered. Dango listened dropping his rifle but quickly pulled a pistol out trying something as he grabbed a hold of racheal and placed the gun next to her head.
"Back off! Or shes dead!"dango shouted which surprised them including racheal.
"What…what are you doing? You said if i helped you i could go free?"she asked completely shocked.
"Shut it. Your dead weight you being a klutz screwed this job"he said harshly
"So your finally showing your true colors huh. I've done research on you dango and turns out you were also dishonorable discharge but the funny thing. It was also for excessive force which is weird as i looked up rahceal as well. While she was in special forces she had a clean record and slated for being put into some regiment for the best of the best"lazuli begun as dango glared a little at that.
"Thing is she was a rookie who joined about a year ago, you've been in the military for six years. But her record had not even a sign of a black line on her record. Though she did get dishcarge suddenly from special forces for excessive forces. Their was also a recent claim from someone telling someone sexual assaulted her"she continued glancing toward racheal.
"The only i can think of you swapped her name with yours but they kicked you out for that sexual assault claim. Why did you do it?"she asked
Dango scoffed"like i need to tell you. All it was some rookie that pissed me off after working my ass off loyally for years. Give me the dam drive now hayley!"dango said directly to eria who rolled her eyes.
"I don't think so because were not supplying your boss with weapons. Hassan might lose another paycheck"eria codly retorted
Dango began to laugh at that smirking at her"adkins is dead. Along with that ran into your other half. She had her fun with her"he said in a sickening voice as eria eyes sank into her head as tears immediately began to stream down her face. As dravan had a look of shock as tears came down his face.
All of them were caught offguard hearing that rogue and the others might actually be dead. Lazuli growled not really buying it right now as he backed up slowly.
"Now here what will happen give me the drive. Start the train up and leave us here because i'll just contact beta to pick us up. Anyone tries to follow i'll kill her where she stands"dango explaied placing the gun closer to racheal head.
Lazuli just scoffed thinking of one thing that could that could stall him to give someone time to jump the guy since their was plenty of them in the room. Along with getting in his head because their no way the others are dead.
"I think your messing with us. Because we aint doing that"lazuli pointed out giving a surprised look to the other.
"Did you not hear me? One little call and i can call a grimm knight to my aid"dango said rather annoyed.
"No i don't think so. For starters those things are complete monsters who wouldn't listen to you obviously. I mean yeah you might have the guts to do it but you killed one guy big deal. Couldn't kill lazu when she was unconcious"lazuli said almost trying to make him mad.
"What are you doing?"merrick whispered to her as she raised her hands up.
"I mean a rookie outclassed you and you left alive a witness. You could change faces but can't trade it in for a brain? Some merc your terrible at this"lazuli said almost sarcastically as she laughed even.
"Shut it or you're going to get it"dango said rather annoyed some teen is mocking him.
"Then do it i'm right here. Come on shoot me…shoot me or are you chicken?"lazuli said making a chicken noise with a smirk. For the other they thought she was a little sucidly but she wanted to be willing shot. As bahsira got what she was doing as she was readying herself to jump on dango.
"Since you wanna die so badly. Allow me to do it for you!"dango said removing his gun toward lazuli and began to pull the trigger which lazuli wanted. As he pulled the trigger time seemed to slow down as the bullet flew out of the barrel and towards its next victim. They stood their shock for a moment as she was about to be shot but used her semblance to dodge it quickly. The bullet then hit the wall not even htting her.
"What the?"dango said as this moment bashira leaped tackling him to the ground knocking his pistol out of his hands. Then buried her knee as he looked up seeing them all point their weapons at him.
"I suggest you surrender now before it gets worse"lazuli warned as dango had no choice but to surrdner raising his hands in a surrender positon.
After getting dango secured and the three dead bodies proeprly secured as they started the train back up to get to windpath. They all where in the lounge car except for weiss and adam as merrick and raven were talking to racheal while they brought lucy and left her kids waiting in the doorway.
"I take it your here to tell me good news?"lucy questioned almost hopefully as eria was in the corner crying right now which she noticed as lazuli stepped forward.
"We did ma'am. Our group found out who did it and brought them to justice for their crimes. Your hsuband, tom and barry can fianlly rest in peace"lazuli said happily.
As if a great weight was lifted off her shoulder she breathed in relief"thank you dear. I'm glad to hear that though is she alright?"she asked looking concerned toward eria as some of them got quiet for a moment.
Neptune rubbed his eyes sighing"the killer said that her sister was killed by someone. Which right now i'm trying hard not to blieve"he replied as lucy walked over kneeling down infront of eria before embracing her suddenly.
"I'm sure that isn't the case dear. Your entire group are remarkable huntsman and huntresses. That man may have been deicivng you all"lcuy reassured
But eria remembered what she had sighing before retrieving it from her leg compartment.
"This belongs to you. Files that had…he won't need them anymore. Probably give it to general ironwood if you have too"eria replied saldy lucy thought for a moment shaking her head closing eira hand over it.
"You should hold onto it"lucy replied which surprised them by the gesture.
"Why? Aren't you going back to atlas?"oscar asked
"We were. But we moved to argus recently and the coastline is alot nicer than a floating city. Heck maybe even move to mistral capital""lucy said
"What about your things in atlas"neptune asked
"Oh its already in argus its time for a new start. I have a terrible feeling atlas may not be safe anymore. But thank you for what you did for my family i'm sure your sister is alive"lucy begun before her two kids came rushing in as eria despite being upset couldn't help smiling slightly by their cute faces.
"Momma can we give her a present that we got from the gift shop?"emily asked
"If she wants it yes"lucy said as eria thought for a moment nodding.
"What is it?"eria softly asked as the two presented a black box as eria took it opening it. It revealed a snowflake broach along with a flame broach. Finding it a little poetic right now seeing this.
"We thought you might like these"alec siad gleefuffly.
"Their nice thank you both fo you. Now we should get going you two should behave yourslef"eria said before taking the snowflake borach placing it on her choker as they all walked to their room.
"We will. Bye nice lady!"they both called out as she somebrly waved because they reminded her of her and rogue in a way.
Once they got back to the room with their things packed preparing to leave the train as they were told what they were told early.
"So how did it go with racheal?"dravan asked
"Apperently the two were both in the crimson talon but she didn't want to join at all since she got pregnant from his assault. But he forced her since she was his foricng her to partake in the murders. Also telling us he had a hisotry of violence and was do anytime in the miltary to be discharge. But she defended him manipulating to believe he loved her or he'll hurt her child"raven said
"What will happen to her now?"weiss asked
"From what the conductor said since she was forced into a sitaution that put herself and her baby in danger she was only doing what was best to protect herself. Unlikely she'll face trial is she agrees to tesify against him when it happened. Mistral court system is different since she won't face prison time for due to her condition"bashira added
"Well that great i guess though we should be arriving in windpath soon…after hearing what happened to my sister"Eria said sadly starting to loose some hope.
Lazuli walked over hugging her"that guy was probably lying don't lose that hope alright. Their alright"she reassured which it did slightly
After about another hour of travel they soon reached windpath as they departed from the train emerging on a simple wooden platform. Along with their being some people coming off with them as they looked at the place.
They were now in a crime infested city where most pickpockets are along with the chance of dying at anytime. All of them grabbed their luggage as neptune and dravan were carrying mealnie on a makeshift stretcher for easier carry access.
"Alright since where here where are we heading off to next?"oscar asked
Lazuli stretched a little popping her joints for a bit"for starters weiss hood up along with you eria. Don't want any unwanted attention"she said as the two did just that as eria hung her head down.
"Now where do we go?"bashira asked
"First we head off to my mom places its near a park, but watched out for pick pockets, theifs and murderers. Watch what you say"milita ordered as they all stayed close together as milita and lazuli knew the place. They hoped that they can find her on time to gain support for havan attacks.
They all walked out of the station noticing how busy the main road was as people got from place from palace. Stone and wood house make up most of the main street with a few stalls that have people seeling their wares. However they ignored them as they followed militia where they going.
But as they walked for a while somehting caught her attention that being a park close by. As if on memory she walked over toward it confusing them as she didn't even hear them. The thief walked over to a small park with some trees that were losing its leaf along with a bench as she took a seat. Because in the center of the park was a swan statue spreading its wings ready to soar to the skies.
This was the same place that roman found her that rainy night taking her in and providing her somewhere warm to stay. Along with taking her in like his own flesh and blood duaghter she coudln't help but hug herself letting a few tears slipp away. Until someone called out to her.
"Are you okay?"adam spoke up as some of them joined him as the thief looked down rubbing her arms.
"Its nothing…i've just been here before is all"lazuli meekly replied making miltia shake her head taking a seat next to her on the bench.
"Quit lying feathers. This was where torch found you….and took you in on that rainy night"milita softly said as her tail swayed. Weiss was a little surprised but she did mention how she originally came from windpath. Adam took the opposite seat as he stared at the swan statue finding something funny chuckling a little.
Lazuli noticed it wiping a tear away"whats so funny bull boy?"she asked
Adam sighed for a moment"that i guess this is where you came up with that name you went by. Probably used it because seeing this statue maybe gave you one of the best things to ever happen in your life"he said before glancing at her smiling a little.
"A loving family, let hope we don't run into your parents here"he added as she felt a little better hearing that right now. But as they sat their someone soon came from behind their entire group.
"Now what brings my daughter here along with torch eldest"A male voice siad
They all looked at a man who seemed in who seemed to be in his early forties and was rather tall with pale skin along with black slicekd back hair. His eyes were green with a vertical scar on his lip. He was wearing a black dresssuit with black dress pants underneath a puplr dressjacket with a golden tie to match. While he had on a pair of black leather gloves with the tattoo of the spider gang on his neck. With his traits being a black fox tail and ears.
"Dad"miltia said getting up hugging him as her tail wagged as his did too returning it.
With them were four spider gang members in their tradtional outfits consisting of purple with some bandana. But the fox faunus eyed the group with cloaks hiding their face but glanced toward raven who stared at him.
Raven stepped forward not having a hand on omen"Dallas, its nice to see you again. I'm not here to cause problems"she reassured to the man known as dallas.
Dallas sighed as his tail swayed"oh your here. Bad idea for you to be here alot of people have grudges against your team. My wife included"dallas siad as raven chuckled.
"That why we bring your daughters, one of them has contracted pneumonia."raven said gesutring to mealnie who coughed a bit wheezing slightly which made the man worry immediately.
"Come with me. We'll head to the house my wife will wanna talk to you"dallas siad making sure no one was eavesdropping on them as they followed them. It was a twenty minute walk until they arrived as a simple large house that had maybe three floors to it colored purple with black paitns around it. Their was a small porch and swing in the front with the door bearing the spider logo.
They immedialty walked isndie as dallas ordered some of the spider to take mealnie to her room for treatment. They walked inside to a grand entrnace with two stairs on both sides with but it didn't look fancy at all. Except it had simple wooden furniture and decor in the front as lazuli sighed a little seeing this place again.
"Its been a long time since i've been here"lazuli muttered walking forward in the middle of the front entrance where a large logo of web with a spider in was their.
"Well its been a long time kiddio. Last time you where here when you just celebrating my girls birthday"a female voice said as they turned to the source of it. It belonged to the infamous leader of the spider gang lil miss malachite.
Who immediately walked over embracing lazuli who returned it as a women had an upset look for a moment.
"Shame to what happened to torch and walker kid. How you doing dealing with their death?"lil miss asked separating from her as lazuli rubbed her arm for a moment sighing.
"Better actually i guess, though uh i kinda brought some guest. Please don't kill them or turn them in"lazuli said gesturing to the group as lil miss noticed raven and adam tarrus. The women kept a glare walking toward raven tapping a cigarette stick in her hands taking a puff then blew some smoke. The two stared each other down as soon it was broke.
"So the mighty raven branwhen needs my help. You know i put a bounty on your head for about one hundred thousand lien"lil miss reminded
Raven ddidn't even seem bothered by it"only that much? When did you decided that i wasn't worth that much. Though we brought something that may put you on your good graces"she said gesturing to miltia as lil miss looked around for her other daughter.
"Where is your sister. I sent you two to argus to warn that weaponsmith about the upcoming attack on the white fang"lil miss replied catching them by surprise.
"Wait you sent them to meet my father?"eria spoke up making her turn her way before walking over removing her hood to reveal her. Then she snapped her fingers as if out of nowhere four gang members removed the rest to reveal weiss who neorvosuly laughed.
"Please don't turn me in for a reward"weiss begged as lil miss was cosndiered something before milita walked over whispering something in her others ears. As lil miss lisnted she narrowed her gaze nodding before crossing her arms under her bust.
"Hmm i won't since my daughter here said you saved her sister. By giving her medicine and giving her a warm place to stay. Come let talk"lil miss said as they followed her bringing their things because they rather not have them go through it.
They soon arrived in a lounge like area that had a couple couches made of leather colored purple with a few chairs in the mix. Their was also a fireplace that had a fire going right now with a mantle of pictures of lil miss and her family. Along with a few showing a younger roman torchwich along with nadia who had both her arms at that point.
They all took their repscitve seats as lil miss took one near the fireplace as miltia stood by it. Along with dallas who had crossed arms as his tail wayed around. Spidergang members blocked the entrance with automatic weapons in hand eeyeing the group down.
"So. mind telling me dear why you got both the heiress that were apparently missing?"lil miss asked
Lazuli sighed crossing her arms"faked is the correct answer to that. Willow schnee hired me to rescue her daughter from her abusive father"she bluntly said getting straight to the point as weiss flinch slightly. Which dallas noticed tapping his chin.
"Milita can you confirm this dear?"dallas aksed as the fox faunus stared at the heiress for a moment nodding.
"I can they even have video proof of the sick bastard whiping his kids"milita growled as her tail fluffed up catching even the criminal underboss offguard including her gang members. Weiss sighed before standing up removing her coat along with revealing her new faunus trait to the gangleader surprise. But what caught her by surprise was as she removed her jacket to reveal her scared back.
Dallas was a little caught offguard even the spider gang members themselves seeing that as lil miss stood up walking over. The women examined them for a moment seeing very old scars huffing forcing the girl shirt back down.
"Seems that explains this, though word is the other hayley heiress ran away. Thats why your here correct?"lil miss asked as she retook her seat as wiess did to. Dravan kept eria close who still had an upset look but just sighed rubbing her prosthetic knee.
"Yes…but as of recently i was told she was killed by someone."eria said with a few tears forming. Though lil miss chuckled at that taking a puff of her cigarette tapping the ash into a nearby standing ashtray.
"Now i find that hard to believe. I got spies everywhere including an old friend named asher moore. Recently got a call from him about some town known as deepwald"lil miss started peeking their interest raven especially. Eria looked at the women actually having that hope quickly be restored again wondering if she might give them good news.
"What happened their?"neptune asked eagerly
Lil miss gave a small smile"i usually don't give this type of info out. But for bringing my girl back i'll allow it since your with a family friend. Moore recently told me how a group with qrow branwhen in the mix entered the town"she begun as they all listen intently right now.
"That it was taken over by a grimm knight known as selket callows. But with the help of a group of huntsman and huntresses in training they took it back. Those included were jaune arc, nora valkyrie, li ren, mercury black. And a girl who is your niece rae and lastly the other hayley heiress"she announced which made the group silent for a moment as eria had to ask one question.
"A-are they dead?"she asked scared with tears threatening to break but lil miss shook her head.
"No. as of late recently they rescued the town freeing them of the crimson talon control"she said which just eria have the warmest smile ever form zipping over hugging the women as the gang members aimed their weapons but she put a hand up as they lowered them.
"Thank you. Thank you"eria cried several times as lil mis chuckled patting her back as she sat back down.
Weiss sighed in relief"that such a relief to hear, thank you for telling us this. We needed some good news"she said
"Well we've also gotten more good news as of late from menagerie even"Dallas suddenly said catching their interest immediately. Weiss and especially lazuli who was curious who bolted up even adam was intrigued hoping he won't hear anything terrible.
"Wait…you heard about their island being under attack?"bashira asked with hope.
"We did from a certain arctic fox faunus by the name of akata blizz. She sent a letter that got here recently along with junior telling me something"lil miss said peeking lazuli interest hearing that.
"What did xiong tell you?"lazuli asked before a smirk came to the women face because it was something good.
"Nothing just that your little sister mother came to the island. Though heard she taught her a lesson, along with apparently dating the youngest of the belladonna family."lil miss sudedenlty said making lazuli eyes widden hearing that. Adam for one was shocked to hear jazmine was dating someone guess kali is having fun teasing them.
Lazuli just had a smile form"that great to hear carmel got what coming to her. And i now…lost…the bet…dang it"she groaned recalling that bet she made with her siblings.
Dallas laughed taking a seat crossing his legs placing his hands together"thats not just all as of late her letter also contained something that will make everyone happy. Because it seems some people from vale came when the island came under attack. Another grimm knight is dead…also known as conri"he stated
Which just made the group feel a wave of relief wash over them hearing that their friends were successful. But bashira was happy because a certain cat faunus she knows will be very overjoyed that mutt is dead.
"Oh my god i feel so relieved right now"neptune said in relief
"Same here seriously hearing that my other niece lives makes me wanna smile"dravan said as his tail wagged around for a bit. But lil miss had some more good news taking a puff of her cigarette.
"Yes and along with that. Seems walker other kid still kicking even don't gotta worry about her drowning in booze again."lil miss as they wondered if anyone else died in that attack curisouly.
"Wait did…did anyone die that was noticable die during the attack. That she mentioend?"weiss asked hesiantly as dallas walked to a draw retrieving the letter looking over it.
"As from what i'm seeing no. it seems that entire group that came survived along with both faunus leader familys. She noted how a wolf family all survived, some monkey faunus for some reason. And lastly…"he paused looking at something near raven. Raven glanced next to at her side at the weapon case that belongs to summer. Then a look of hope came to her eyes.
"That appernelty summer rose has been spotted in menagerie"he finished as raven just sat their in shock right now. That the entire island was safe and that her daughter will be fine, along with her old friend whereabouts being found. Along with her brother and niece still alive as a smile came to her face.
"You don't know what this means to me. To my family especially"Raven said
"Quite alright though i'm guessing tarrus is here for white fang activity. What their planning or who their working with?"lil miss asked as adam nodded taking a stack of red lien coin out placing it on the side table near her.
"Yes. will this suffice for payment"adam said but she just handed him back the coins to their confusion because she wanted something else information.
"I want information. Do you have any intel that may peek my interest. You returned my daughter that costed you what was said before but i want something else"lil miss said as they thought for a moment as eria grabbed the notebook.
"Here seven files on half of the thirteen knights of grimm"eria said handing her it but they had bad news on that.
"Try their being eight more, appernelty in deepwald they were making more of them"lil miss announced catching them offguard to hear their were eight more grimm knight. Which means havan is in deep trouble.
"More of them! You have to be kidding me"bashira said pulling her face.
Raven sighed"i'm assuming you don't know what type of grimm they are"she asked as lil miss quickly read through the notebook as one caught her eye that being tau. Then the women had a disgusted look.
"One of them died to mercy killing leaving only seven left. But this kiyo women, seems that bitch death was faked."she said in anger
"Wait you know that chick?"bashira asked as dallas lifted up his shirt to reveal a long scar on his side answering their question.
"I do old graduate of beatrix died in some job eight years ago. Words is she traveling with the white fang. From what my spies said they teamed up with enough force to overrun havan academy and the capital"lil miss replied
"We know who crimson talon, unseen eye, knuckleduster and those grimm knights"adam said
"Hmph. better than my sources though the name bonnie thanatos gets thrown around alot. Probably their leader"lil miss said
Lazuli growled clenching her fist"she was responsible for the attack on beacon. And she helped kill my dad"she said with tears as if immedialty a stern look came to the women face.
"I'm assuming your tribe has a band of warriors marching on havan?"lil miss asked not even looking at raven.
"We do. We came here to ask for your help you know mistral better than anyone"raven replied as the women stood up dusting herself up placing a hand behind her back.
"That i do. I got about five cells in the city with about fifteen members in each one. I'll help you top off on suppiles, head south toward mistral from here. Take this with you"lil miss said producing a seal tossing it to raven who flipped it over revealing it to be a medallion with the spider symbol.
"Alright thank you for the info. We'll be taking our leave now"lazuli said as lil miss nodded. Taking the women help they stocked up on provision since their was alot of them since their very far from mistral it would take a few days to get their. However wiess just was happy to hear that her leader ruby and blake where okay. She just silently prayed for the two right now. Eria though was a little overjoyed right now hearing her sister, zane and onxyia were all alive.
All of them just hoped they stay out of trouble as they made their way toward havan.
It seems that the group are on their way to havan now with the help of the spiders gang now. Along with that hearing about the best news they ever heard that everyone in menagerie was safe. Dallas was my own creation to give lil miss some humanity. I loved making some of the so called criminals actual saints. Thanks for reading!
